2024.05.14 18:24 Throbbing-Kielbasa-3 How the hell does anyone play with a controller?
I'm mostly a PC gamer, and for the longest time I played Festival on my keyboard. It made sense. One key for each track, using both hands. But I was running out of space on my hard drive for other stuff, so I uninstalled Fortnite and started playing on my PS5 instead. I feel like I'm playing a completely different game now. I'm flubbing so many notes I would usually hit. I can still get 4 or 5 stars or around 95% on expert, but I can't keep a combo to save my life because I miss the tiniest mistake because the button slips, or I hit up on the d-pad instead of left or whatever.
I've tried both control schemes, I've tried different grips. Nothing just feels as natural and I'm considering going back to my Keyboard. Anyone have any tips on how to play or set up the controls to make it better?

2024.05.14 18:23 Dan_ScamHunter Stealing money from your card. The first post
I don't even know where to start, there is a huge amount of information that I wanted to share with you here.Let's start with perhaps the most common types of fraud.Theft of your credit and debit cards. There are several ways that you can part with your money from your cards. But where do the scammers get this data from?
The most common ways are
--You got to a phishing payment link,e-commerce
--Leakage of your data from the sites where you made the payment
--You have brought virus software to your PC by downloading a malicious file from an unknown source (Internet, flash card)
--You have got to a phishing site for authorization of an apple, Google, Samsung account, etc.
Now in order
You wanted to buy a product online on an unfamiliar site at a very attractive price.Despite the fact that the site inspires confidence, has an SSL certificate, the correct legal address, a beautiful domain name and other parameters, this is not an indicator of its reliability. After making a purchase, you will even receive a receipt for the cost and delivery time to your email address. And you are happy that you have saved a lot of money, keep going about your daily business. Next, it all depends on the methods of debiting funds from your bank card. It will be used either almost immediately or a little later.
The case is as follows. You regularly purchase any goods over the Internet in a local or large online store. For ease of use, your card and billing address are stored in these stores.Hackers study the attack vectors on these stores, exploit the vulnerability and gain access to the database of stores where you previously purchased goods.Your card data is usually encrypted, but not always, there are also methods for decrypting this data. This is how your card data gets to the attackers.
Do you like free software, movies and games downloaded from Torrent and unofficial sites?
Then the malefactor is already in your computer. There is a huge amount of malware for PCs on both Windows and macOS.All this malware has different tasks. We will focus on the stillers class for example.Stiller is a malicious software that extracts all information from your PC and sends it to an attacker.I will list only some parameters and data that stiller can extract, these are:versions of all software installed on the PC,IP address, time zones, keyboard layouts, fonts, autofill of any browser, cookies, hardware wallets and much, much
more.As a rule, your credit cards, which browsers keep so carefully, are located in the autocomplete lines. All other information such as billing can also be extracted from the log taken from your PC.
The most insidious way - these are phishing authorization sites.I'll give you a simple example: your iCloud ran out of storage space, and you wanted to buy additional space in the cloud. You logged into safari on your iPhone and entered an icloud request. You click on the first link in the search results, this is what everyone would do, even me.This link was an advertisement, but the domain was original, the ORIGINAL CARL!!!Next, you are redirected to an icloud-type authorization page icloud.scamdomen.com you enter your login details, you are asked to enter a confirmation code on your device, you confirm, that's all.You can say goodbye to your Apple ID and iCloud for at least a month, because hackers will get into your apple ID, delete your devices, change your password and phone number. And then they start using your information, connected payment methods, viewing your photos and videos, studying your notes, applications, and so on.As a result, Apple ID support will restore your Apple ID, but only after a month.
Now we have looked at the most popular ways to steal your data, in my next posts I will try to analyze each category separately so that you better understand how to protect yourself. Now let's talk about the safety recommendations.I understand that half of what I'm going to say is actually corny, and you know it without me, but nevertheless, it works and provides you with protection.
-Do not use the same password on different services
-Do not specify your first name, last name, date of birth in the password
-Use at least 12 characters in the password, using special characters
-If possible, use only prepaid cards with a known balance to pay at unfamiliar stores/locations
-If possible, do not use the standard autofill functions for usernames and passwords on a PC and smartphone, use only specialized applications in which you can install two-step verification.
-If possible, use a two-step verification
-Use only licensed software
-Install and use antivirus software on your computer and smartphone
-Do not download files to your computer and smartphone from unknown sources
I would like to end this post with this, I hope this information will be useful for you.Take care of yourself and your loved ones!

2024.05.14 18:22 Chrislemale The Future of Pc Gaming in 20 Years
Pc gaming is the future no doubt about it. Its the place of freedom. Serious gamer will always stick with deticated hardware. At some point you can download and install games in seconds. Well the cloud (another pc not yours) probably will die off doesnt matter how much greedy corpos push for it. Deticated hardware will always give you the best experience. Like with gamepass people dont care about this renting nonsense and people loose interest.
So my predictions:
The indie scene will be even bigger because people wont care about ubicrap and ea games anymore
Vr will be huge and photo realistic and a biger part for sure
The future looks bright and greedy corpos dont dicatete where we are heading.. Its our money which dictates that.
Pc gaming will always be healthy and in 20 years it will be huge

2024.05.14 18:15 Nightrunner0 Constant problem with internet disconnecting
Hello,
Recently i made a post about having some issues with my internet here is the link :
https://www.reddit.com/WindowsHelp/comments/1cihopa/internet\_problems\_after\_downloading\_latest\_update/ And here is a follow up:
In short my internet is BUSTED can't say it otherway,i had a techinican come to my house to check the connection swap some cables and the result was that nothing changed even tho on their end everything is ok and on our end everything is also ok(wierd, huh)
My 1st thought was it was just my pc that was the problem, cause it all started when my pc forced the windows update to install, however that was debunked when i took my laptop and the same thing happenend when i was downloading from STEAM and only steam i tried and tested downloading on both my devices and both caused my internet connection to become unstable and cause a connection loss on every single device i have.
Same goes for gaming, random outages during an online match, worth to mention that when gaming i always have a twitch stream on for the background noise and i ALWAYS game like that and never did i have an issue like that.
My internet activities remain the same,so could it be possible that steam itself is causing my internet outages or could be possible the i have an unwanted guest on my network?

2024.05.14 18:15 Kigidi Help with steam CD key
Good day, fellow divers.
I have a question and I'm hoping you might've an answer for me.
I started driving quite recently and wanted to gift the game to my friend so we could dive together in harminy, but then, the Sony nation attacked.
The issue is that my friend plays on PC and lives in one of the many countries where Helldivers have been delisted on Steam. However, as far as I'm aware, people who do own the game from before this war are still able to play it even in the countries where it's no longer possible to purchase it, which gave me an idea.
If I were to give a global Steam key to my friend, would he be able to activate it and play the game despite being in a delisted country?
Thanks for your help:)

2024.05.14 18:15 X3NOC1DE Need to relogin to YouTube after PC restart, Stream key ALSO not working as intended
What the title says. If my PC is shutdown/restarted, I need to reconnect my YouTube account to my OBS.
This was an issue because my account had 2FA installed, so I started using a second Google account for YT streaming (its mainly for VODs, so they are private/unlisted streams anyway, so account doesnt matter). The new account was working fine until recently where I had to switch reinstall OBS, and ever since then, even with the second YT account that has no 2FA, I need to constantly relogin everytime I restart or boot up my PC, and its a bit tedious and annoying.
Any fixes?
Thank you!
Also, another issue : using stream keys is not working as intended - when I use a stream key, it streams, but then when I stop the stream and start another one - OBS says its streaming but nothing on YouTube. It only SOMETIMES works, but definitely works the first time when I try a new stream key.

2024.05.14 18:14 oceanights How to stop a big file from uploading to iCloud?
So I've got a stupid problem and honestly I don't know what I was expecting.
I downloaded a movie as an mp4, around 4GB, and wanted to watch it on my iPad without worrying about popups and ads. I have my iCloud linked to my PC (Windows) so I can open it as a normal folder. I guess I severely overestimated the speed at which that would upload and now it looks like it's resetting every now and then, so the bar is coming to like 10% uploaded and then resets.
I can't delete the file because "it's open in iCloud drive", same thing happens when I try to move it. I see it in my iCloud folder on PC, but not on any connected devices nor iCloud web.
How can I stop it from uploading? Or delete it? Anything?

2024.05.14 18:13 saba1520 [TOMT] [Video Game] A space sci-fi strategy game
It was around 2015-16 when I downloaded it randomly on my brother's pc, don't remember the name but the icon was a blue woman statue or robot with closed eyes looking forward as I remember.
but I do remember the gameplay a bit, you spawned with a big cross mothership (example:
https://ibb.co/7QdqbTM or
https://ibb.co/ykT5v30 but way bigger and blue), you had to make smaller ships to make upgrades, new ships, occupy planets and space stations, fight other similar motherships and build an empire.

2024.05.14 18:12 LeatherAd129 Why are the specs for arena breakout infinite so high?
So I have a laptop 8gb of ram a AMD Radeon TM vega 3 graphics
and when I saw a version of arena breakout being on released on pc I download it only for it to shut down
i didn't expect the minimal requirements to be so high like 16gb of ram not sure a laptop can fit that
so can anyone give me a somewhat accurate representation of how long till the game become optimized enough for me to play?

2024.05.14 18:12 NatureSaysNo Activating Windows on a pc im lending my brother.
Hiya tech support crew đź’š
I'm lending my brother my old custom build and he has the Activation watermark of doom. The PC is still linked to my account and I'm not really willing to unlink it from my account. Insert problem, the old faithful doesn't seem to want to accept his digital license key. If I log in as the administrator on the pc will that reactivate Windows on the pc? Or am I just going to have to unlink the device from my account? His old pc (glorified fan) is still linked to his account too, could that be causing issues in the activation? He's had his account and hard drives moved to a completely different custom build before but never come across this issue before. I built both pcs, his second computer was Frankensteined together with spare parts from years of me upgrading and replacing components. I'm getting the error code 0xc004f211 and tried the troubleshoot but apparently Microsoft servers are down and I should try again in a couple minutes. Minutes turned to day and now I'm here asking the tech support crew. I'll give Microsoft support a call about it soon but I thought I'd ask here first :P

2024.05.14 18:12 Ragnarlongcock The strangest keyboard issue I've run into so far
ll try to keep this short and simple: my keyboard (Logitech G213 Prodigy) has stopped working. Sorta.
It's a keyboard problem so obviously the keys don't work. However, the "extra" keys (play/pause, stop, skip media, lighting on/off, mute sound) all work. The other keys don't, unless they're the >=7th pressed at the same time. Yes I tested this, it works- if hold down 6 keys, doesn't matter which, the 7th, 8th, 9th, etc will give their input. If I hold down that last key it'll continue giving that input.
But it gets weirder, what I tested as a fix was: -trying every USB port on my PC, none worked -trying an extension USB cable (tested elsewhere, worked fine then), didn't work -trying the keyboard on a different PC, which worked flawlessly again. Somehow. -removing the system from power entirely multiple times -reinstalled the keyboard drivers -reinstalled ghub -tested the keyboard in bios, which worked -tried to find a new windows update or to roll it back
I'm fairly sure the problem is windows, but nothing about it changed recently. The USB ports work too, nothing else is causing any problems.
I wrote a ticket but that's yet to be of any help. Couldn't find any forum posts with remotely similar issues either, so I'm asking here for some desperately needed help.
If anyone knows anything I could try, please let me know. I'm already considering reinstalling windows entirely but I need my PC for school all week so that can't be done now.
Thanks in advance!
Edit: I forgot to mention it but ghub does recognise the keyboard in every way. Lighting and reassigning works.
