2024.05.15 13:42 Total-Mastodon-6888 Understanding Different Types of Visas Adric Immigration Consultants
The world beckons with its rich tapestry of cultures, vibrant landscapes, and exciting opportunities. But before you embark on your international adventure, navigating the world of visas can feel like stepping into a labyrinth. At
Adric Immigration Consultants, your trusted partner in Bangalore, we understand the complexities of visa applications. This comprehensive guide aims to shed light on the different types of visas available, helping you choose the right path for your aspirations.
The Big Picture: Broad Visa Categories Visas act as official permissions granted by a country to enter and stay within its borders for a specific purpose and duration. Broadly, visas fall into two main categories:
1. Non-immigrant Visas: Designed for temporary stays, non-immigrant visas cater to diverse needs, including:
- Tourism (B-1/B-2): Ideal for sightseeing, visiting family and friends, or attending short-term events like conferences.
- Business (B-1): Allows participation in business activities that don’t involve paid employment in the host country. Examples include attending meetings, negotiating contracts, or conducting market research.
- Work (H-1B, TN, etc.): Enables qualified foreign professionals to work in specific occupations for a sponsoring employer. The type of work visa required depends on the profession and the reciprocity agreements between countries.
- Student (F-1): For individuals pursuing full-time academic programs at accredited institutions. May come with restrictions on work authorization.
- Exchange Visitor (J-1): Facilitates participation in exchange programs like cultural exchanges, internships, or research collaborations.
2. Immigrant Visas: For those seeking to establish permanent residence in a new country, immigrant visas pave the way. These typically involve a lengthier application process with stricter eligibility requirements. Common types include:
- Employment-Based: Grants permanent residency based on a job offer with a sponsoring employer in the host country. Categories exist for skilled workers, investors, and individuals with exceptional abilities.
- Family-Based: Allows sponsorship of immediate family members (spouse, children) by a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
- Diversity Visa Lottery: Provides a limited number of visas annually through a random selection process.
Going Deeper: Specific Visa Types and Considerations Understanding your purpose for travel is crucial. Here’s a breakdown of some commonly sought-after visas and key factors to consider:
- Tourist Visa (B-1/B-2):
- Duration: Typically short-term stays, ranging from a few weeks to several months. Extensions might be possible depending on the country’s regulations.
- Eligibility: Varies by country. Generally, applicants need to demonstrate sufficient financial resources, ties to their home country, and a valid passport.
- Important Note: Working or studying while on a tourist visa is strictly prohibited.
- Business Visa (B-1):
- Duration: Similar to tourist visas, with extensions potentially available.
- Eligibility: Proof of business purpose, such as invitations from companies, conference registrations, or business documents, is essential.
- Restrictions: Engaging in paid employment or setting up a business venture is not permitted under a business visa.
- Work Visa (H-1B, TN, etc.):
- Duration: Varies based on the specific visa type and job offer. Extensions and renewals are often possible.
- Eligibility: Requires a valid job offer from a U.S. employer willing to sponsor the visa petition. Specific qualifications and experience are mandated for each profession.
- Labor Certification: For certain categories (e.g., H-1B), the employer must first obtain a labor certification demonstrating that hiring a foreign worker won’t adversely affect U.S. worker opportunities.
- Student Visa (F-1):
- Duration: Valid for the duration of the academic program, with potential extensions for practical training after graduation.
- Eligibility: Acceptance letter from a SEVP-certified educational institution, proof of financial support, and a valid passport are mandatory.
- Maintaining Status: Students must maintain full-time enrollment and comply with program requirements to keep their visa valid.
- Work Authorization: Limited on-campus or OPT (Optional Practical Training) opportunities might be available depending on the program and student category.
- Employment-Based Immigrant Visa:
- Duration: Leads to permanent residency status, allowing indefinite stay and work authorization.
- Eligibility: A valid job offer with a sponsoring employer and meeting the specific requirements of the chosen visa category (e.g., EB-2 for professionals with advanced degrees) (EB-3 for skilled workers with less education but experience) are crucial. The process can be complex, and seeking guidance from an experienced immigration consultant is highly recommended.
- Family-Based Immigrant Visa:
- Duration: Leads to permanent residency status.
- Eligibility: U.S. citizens or permanent residents can sponsor immediate family members (spouse, unmarried children under 21). The process can be lengthy, and wait times can vary depending on the relationship and visa category.
- Diversity Visa Lottery (DV Lottery):
- Duration: Leads to permanent residency status if selected and the application process is completed successfully.
- Eligibility: Open to nationals of countries with historically low immigration rates to the U.S. Selection is based on a random drawing.
- Important Note: Winning the lottery doesn’t guarantee a visa. Applicants must still meet all eligibility requirements and undergo the full application process.
Beyond the Basics: Additional Considerations Visa processing times and fees can vary significantly depending on the visa type, country of application, and individual circumstances. It’s crucial to factor in these costs and potential delays when planning your international move.
Visa reciprocity plays a role in certain work visa categories (e.g., TN visa between the U.S., Canada, and Mexico). Understanding the reciprocity agreements between your home and destination countries can help determine your eligibility for specific work visas.
Dual citizenship allows individuals to hold citizenship in two countries simultaneously. Eligibility for dual citizenship varies by country. Researching the policies of both your home and target country is essential if this path aligns with your goals.
Travel restrictions can be implemented due to various reasons, including pandemics or political situations. Staying updated on current travel advisories is crucial before embarking on your international journey.

2024.05.15 12:17 Kaiannae Unity with PHoton PUN2 - How to update a component field for a single player and change it for all player views?
I'm making a 2 player game in which, when 2 players are in a room, they "toss a coin" to decide which of the two player "skins" they get.
Now, the way I built the player "skins" is as such: I drew the sprite sheets myself, and then made an animation of each motion (walking right, walking left, back, idle, etc) and I used a blend tree in the animator controller to switch between them according to input. I have saved an animator controller as such for each "skin" and so I thought - instead of having two player prefabs, I will have one player prefab. I will instantiate it and then just change its animator controller to the right one! easy, right?
Well, not so much when you're working across several game instances. Apparently, when I change the animator controller right after creation, it changes the view in that same player instance, but the other player does not see anything different, they only see the default one.
I am trying to find a way to update it. I thought of maybe doing it via RPC, but I can't get it to work.
Here is my code, I'd love some help (Or for you to tell me the animator controller idea is not a good one and I should just save several prefabs if that's the case).
using Photon.Pun; using Photon.Realtime; using System.Collections; using System.Collections.Generic; using UnityEngine; public class GameManager : MonoBehaviourPunCallbacks { public GameObject PlayerPrefab; //player sprites animator controllers (essentially also control which sprites are used so represent different player skins) public RuntimeAnimatorController[] AnimatorControllers; public GameObject SceneCamera; [SerializeField] private int playerMax = 2; //list of nuumbers representing available player skins. StartCoroutine("ReadyDelay"); /*if (PhotonNetwork.IsMasterClient) photonView.RPC("ReadyGame", RpcTarget.All);*/ } else if (PhotonNetwork.CurrentRoom.PlayerCount < playerMax) { Debug.Log("Waiting for PLayers"); //add canvas text here } } IEnumerator ReadyDelay() { yield return new WaitForSeconds(1); if (PhotonNetwork.IsMasterClient) photonView.RPC("ReadyGame", RpcTarget.All); } [PunRPC] private void ReadyGame() { SpawnPlayer(); SceneCamera.SetActive(false); } [PunRPC] private void AddToplayerNumberDictionary(int assignedNumber,int actorNumber) { playerNumberMap[actorNumber] = assignedNumber; } [PunRPC] private void AssignAnimatorController( Animator animator, int actorNumber) { animator.runtimeAnimatorController = AnimatorControllers[playerNumberMap[actorNumber]]; } /* [PunRPC] void SetPlayerNumber(int assignedNumber) { Debug.Log($"Player {PhotonNetwork.LocalPlayer.ActorNumber} has number {assignedNumber}"); //save the master-assigned skin number playerSkinNumber = assignedNumber; }*/ public void SpawnPlayer() { Vector3 randomPosition = new Vector3( Random.Range(-1f,1f), Random.Range(-1f, 1f),0); GameObject newPlayer = PhotonNetwork.Instantiate(PlayerPrefab.name, randomPosition, Quaternion.identity, 0); Animator animator = newPlayer.GetComponent(); // animator.runtimeAnimatorController = AnimatorControllers[playerSkinNumber]; int localPlayerActorNumber = PhotonNetwork.LocalPlayer.ActorNumber; if (playerNumberMap.ContainsKey(localPlayerActorNumber)) { //photonView.RPC("AssignAnimatorController", RpcTarget.All, animator, localPlayerActorNumber); animator.runtimeAnimatorController = AnimatorControllers[playerNumberMap[localPlayerActorNumber]]; } else { Debug.LogError("Assigned number not found for this player."); } } }

2024.05.15 11:38 woodss My experiences hiring a nutritionist to help me recover from CFS/ME
I've had 2 pretty bad burnouts in the past 10 years. Chronic fatigue has massively effected my life, and I've been left with lingering chronic migraines which don't seem to want to quit.
I have, however, mostly got out of the fatigue part of the trap. Other than therapy and changing my life in a few ways (work, relationship, location - basically reducing stress), nutrition was for me, absolutely key in coming back from the brink.
Yesterday I shared the 30 supplements I'd tried over these years, and tried to order them in terms of efficacy. It was awesome to hear about other people succeeding partly due to nutrition, and you all seemed to get some use out of the list, so I thought I'd write another post sharing how I benefited from hiring a nutritionist.
First up, I was reluctant to spend the money on a nutritionist to begin with - I was wiped out and as a solopreneur had cut back my working week to 3 days writing code and doing entrepreneur stuff - at that point money was tight. I thought I knew what I should be eating and amidst CFS everything felt overwhelming and difficult.
But eventually I gave in to those around me and signed up for a consultation with a nutritionist which my sister suggested.
She wasn't super expensive. She was super experienced. My nutritionist had worked for 8 years at a burnout clinic in a big city. She knew her stuff.
Over the years I had 3 'Consultations', each with a follow up or two. They always looked similar, like this:
- Sends over a prior health questionnaire.
- Sends over a questionaire, where you have to enter your typical diet for a hypothetical 5 day week.
- Decent hour-long holistic chat about all the key points in your health journey (potential origins, gut health state indicators, medications etc.), and my aims (which were obviously, get out of the CFS hole).
- Suggests taking bicarb (baking soda) stomach acid test.
- Suggests a number of supplements for you to get.
- You go away and try to inject some of the wisdom and supplements into your daily life.
- Follow up comes around way too fast, you kick it back a few weeks to more fully try the changes.
- Follow up call holds you accountable, discusses what's worked, what hasn't.
- A new plan is made, and so on.
This probably seems like a lot of work if you're currently in CFS. I feel you. But broken into little steps, it is digestable; and for me at least, it was crucial to recovery.
I learned all the ways I wasn't helping myself. I had thought that I was quite savvy with food, but I had my macro's (fat/protein/veg etc. %) all wrong. My blood sugar was out of whack, my cortisol graph was a rollercoaster.
Before enlisting the nutritionist I took supplements, but I did so haphazardly. Same with diets. Keto, vegan, etc.
With the nutritionists guidance I:
- Corrected my macros (still not perfect)
- Thoroughly gave up caffiene
- Mostly gave up alcohol
- Let go of the processed foods and sweet 'treats'
- Ate lots more (organic) vegetables
- Found the supplements which genuinely helped my body not feel abysmal
- Took some tests and promptly saw data I could use (not in 2 years like the NHS here in the UK would have me)
- Learned more about the science of CFS, metabolism, allergens etc.
Pitfalls of the experience:
- Their help is only as good as your commitment to change
- Some food choices are socially reinforced, and hard to change
- I fell over a few times, needed a few extra calls to correct course
For me the real benefits were:
- Actual trained knowledge (not instagram influencer 20s clips)
- Made me look at what I was putting in my body more clearly
- Support & Care (when in CFS we just need help, sometimes)
- Accountability (knowing there's a follow up made me endeavour to try the dietary changes seriously)
... and most importantly, it was part of what worked for me. I am no longer stuck in bed. I'm fitter than I was at the start of this forsaken part of my journey. I'm way more holistic, and I know my body far better.
As I read back through this I'm trying to find my point; and I think fundamentally it's this: When you're in Burnout it can feel like you'll never get free. It can feel like nobody can help you. It can feel fatal and exhausting. I can say, for me at least, after years of feeling that way, (dreadful), there is hope. Take small steps. Work on your mental health, your sleep, your gut, and your physhical health. Getting help from qualified, kind practitioners where you can; it's worth it.
... and finally I realise that I am privileged in being able to get this support, and that it's not available everywhere and to everyone. I hope you find the support you need to start stepping out of your abyss - either way, don't overlook your nutrition.

If you don’t like gamma. Go buy a ps1. Devs givith and can takith away.
If you weren’t here when the stone was carved you have 0 room to speak right now.
If you want to use a different EMU that’s fine. The public out-roar and disrespect is kinda out of pocket.
Half of you when retroarch comes out are going to ask some of the DUMBEST questions and will end up using gamma for convenience anyway.
When a dev drops an app (on their own or with limited team support), REAL FEEDBACK HELPS.
Pissing and Moaning doesn’t do a damn thing but make you all look like entitled sissy’s.
If you don’t like it code your own emulator without stealing code from AAA companies or without the basic understanding of how to even write “hello world”.
ZOD has been doing this shit since the beginning of time. Rather it’s perfect out the gate or needs small tweaks and updates to get peak quality under the restraints and chains that apple places on their devices (that mind you just got loosened a tad), some users are going to have issues on different models/devices.
Also keep in mind that the new IOS structure/Iphone models takes advantage of a lot more power but comes with just as many complications.
This man has BLED for you guys to be able to enjoy 5 mins of your childhood or even make new memories you never experienced.
If you don’t agree with what I’m saying that’s fine, let’s see you do better or sit back with your “ I just got here I want perfection” attitudes.
You are all disrespectful ingrates and you don’t deserve better emulation from other developers.
If you think they wanna hear you bi**h,piss, and moan, you’re dead wrong.
That’s why certain emus are only on TestFlight right now (ppsspp, folium) every single dev rn, they are tryin to enter the legitimate field that has been locked behind a steel gate for a LONG time.
The last thing any of us seasoned IOS vets wanna hear is you cry about things that you’ve in turn either don’t understand or don’t know how to fix yourself.
rant over
edit : catch me on discord how bout that @ therealshittyjesus

2024.05.15 09:05 2_CLICK SaaS Apps: The Plague of Mistranslation
Alright, folks, gather around because I've got a bone to pick. I don't understand it. You've got these developers out here creating absolutely brilliant SaaS apps—gorgeous UI, seamless functionality, features that could make you weep with joy. And then... BAM! They decide to translate their app, and it's like watching a Picasso being turned into a kindergarten finger painting.
Either don't translate your app at all if it's already in English (which is fine, by the way), or if you're going to do it, for the love of all things tech, do it correctly. Because nothing says "I don't care about my product" like a poorly translated interface. It makes your app look like a cheap piece of junk. It's like buying a Rolex and realizing the "L" fell off.
Translation is not hard, people. Just don't use Google Translate unless you want your app to sound like a drunk robot. Just use DeepL. It does translations 10x better and is free as well. Why do you guys keep bothering with Google Translate? When it comes to German it literally translates "Let’s go" to "Lass uns gehen" which basically means "Let’s leave". Quite the opposite, huh?
Imagine this: You're on your shiny new app, ready to tackle the world, and then you hit a button that says "Submit your cow." Excuse me? I didn't realize I was on a farm simulator. Or the classic "Press the button for enter the next." Enter the next what? The next dimension? The next existential crisis? Who knows!
I mean, these developers have already done the hard part—coding, designing, testing, deploying. Yet they stumble at the finish line because they can't get the text right. It's like a chef creating a five-star dish and then dumping a can of spray cheese on top. All that hard work, ruined by something so simple.
So, dear SaaS developers, please, I'm begging you. Invest in proper translation tools. Your users will thank you, and your app won't look like it was translated by a toddler with a dictionary.
Oh, and if anyone has questions about German translations, hit me up. I'm so tired of seeing BS translations that make my eyes bleed. I'd be happy to help out and save the world from more translation disasters.

2024.05.15 09:00 el_ratonido My first survey keeps refreshing as soon as I put my Portal Code and click Continue.
Here's a message I sent to them on Instagram that explains it a bit better:
Hello, I'm having trouble getting through my first survey, when I get to the question "what's your Postal Code?" I enter it and press Continue, however it just refreshes the page and ask the same question again. I live in Brazil so I don't know if this may be affection anything. I tried to put my Postal Code in the format 00000-000 with "-" and it didn't work, I also tried it with the format 00000000 without the "-" but I was still unsucessful to complete the question as the page keeps refreshing when I click on the Continue button. In addition to that I noticed that I still got my 5 sb that I would obtain when completing this survey, but it's a bit weird that it still says for me to complete my first survey in order to do the others when I already got the reward for it.
One thing I noticed is that the other questions were in english but when I got to this question it was for some reason in Portuguese, I answered in a previous question that I speak English and Portuguese but I was kind of confused that it automaticaly swithches to Portuguese in the question about my Postal Code.
I tried to go to my account settings and put my Postal Code in the adress menu, yet when I tried to complete the survey again, the page continues to refresh as I put my Postal Code, it doesn't show me any message, it just refreshes the page when I click on the Continue button.

2024.05.15 06:47 Total-Mastodon-6888 Understanding Different Types of Visas Adric Immigration Consultants
The world beckons with its rich tapestry of cultures, vibrant landscapes, and exciting opportunities. But before you embark on your international adventure, navigating the world of visas can feel like stepping into a labyrinth. At Adric Immigration Consultants, your trusted partner in Bangalore, we understand the complexities of visa applications. This comprehensive guide aims to shed light on the different types of visas available, helping you choose the right path for your aspirations.
visa consultant .
