Old peasant legends tell of a magnificent treasure at the peak of Firetop Mountain in the realm of Titan. This treasure is sought out by many adventurers, although few make it back out of the mountains in one piece, and none are able to find the two-locked chest containing the prize. The treasure is guarded by an enigmatic warlock who commands terrible beasts to guard the chest’s keys. Some say he's old, some say he's young, some say his cards are his source of power, others say it’s his black gloves. The only thing that the peasants can agree on was his name; Zagor.
The terrible warlock would fight three different adventurers on their quests to claim his treasure. Each time, if the reader makes the right choices and defeats Zagor in combat, he manages to crawl back from the blackness of death using another morbid spell. Upon his third incarnation, he even made the jump from the realm of Titan to a new world called Amarillia. It's here that the sorcerer would finally meet his end, burned to ashes in the mystical Heartfires.
Feats come from three books, The Warlock of Firetop Mountain, Return to Firetop Mountain and Legend of Zagor. Hover over a feat to see what book it’s from. Since they’re Choose Your Own Adventure books, they aren’t distinguished by chapters but rather by paragraph numbers, which are included in the images themselves.

2024.05.16 14:48 MountainSalt6337 Best App To Learn Guitar?

I'm 41, have been 3 chord strumming (badly) since 31. I never really learned more than basic country strum (alternate bass strings), and basic chords, G, C, Am, F, etc. I never practiced more than 15-20 minutes a day, and never more than a few weeks without putting it away for a few months.
I really want to get good now. I've been playing 60-120 minutes everyday for while. My favorite genre is old country like Hank Williams and Johnny Cash songs. I've just been playing songs I like from YouTube tutorials. I never use the dozens of song books I've bought over the years.
My timing is awful. And the harder chord progressions really trip me up. For example in Long Black Veil (the Lefty Frizzle version) it goes from E to B chord, which is a really tricky Barre chord. I can get the B chord if stop to position my fingers, but never fluently.
So I'm kinda intermediate I guess. What a good app for generally improving from this level, and also if there's one genre specific?

Max Sanity Points (SP) = Intelligence Stat + Wisdom Stat + Charisma Stat = Total Max SP
Temporary SP functions like Temporary HP
(E.g, 10 Int + 18 Wisdom + 12 Charisma = 40 SP)
100%-89% SP = No effects
80%-69% SP = +3 Passive Perception, The Character is alert and nervous acting jumpy.
60%-59% SP = Disadvantage on resisting and breaking the Frightened effect
50%-49% SP = Short term madness effect
40-39% SP = Long term madness effect
30-29% SP = Frightened until Long term madness effects have been removed or wear off.
20-9% SP = Indefinite Madness effect
8%-1% SP = Insanity Effect
0% = Death
SP is reduced by certain magical spells, auras or seeing something that would be considered disturbing e.g, looking at a dead body, Looking at a demon, ect.
SP is brought back to full after a long rest unless specified that it is not by (e.g) a magical effect.
(See “Madness” in DMG for removal of madness effects)
Calm Emotions (+) When casted on a creature that has not yet been afflicted with a madness effect they regain all lost SP, if they have been afflicted with a madness effect only 2d6 SP is regained
Lesser Restoration (+) While removing short term and long madness the targeted creature regains half of their Max SP with any additional SP over max is regained as Temporary SP
Lobotomisation (7th Level abjuration)
You grasp a creatures mind and violently contort their mind, reducing their Intelligence or wisdom or charisma by 1d4 and remove Insanity effects.
Greater Restoration (+) While removing short term and long and indefinite madness effect the targeted creature regains all lost SP with and gain a Temporary SP equal to Half their maximum.
Insanity
Insane effects are completely permanent unless Lobotomisation is casted onto the effected creature. They also gain a flaw from the Indefinite Madness table that takes the duration of the effect.
(d100) Effect 01-20 The character must succeed a DC20 Wisdom or Intelligence or Charisma saving throw or loose 5 SP and become Paralysed for that action. The effect does not end even when taking damage.
21-30 The character cannot stop babbling or whispering even when resting. Spellcasting requires a DC15 Concentration check and have disadvantage on all Charisma ability checks.
31-40 The character gains a crippling fear of 3 creature types, when viewing a image or hearing the name of the creature spoken the character screams in fear and covers their ears/eyes to block out the source. Encountering a creature of those three types it causes the character to be Frightened and must spend their entire action moving away while loosing 5 SP for every turn they can still see the creature.
41-50. The character becomes erratic and must succeed a DC25 Wisdom save or they will attack themselves, this can be stopped by being grappled or being restrained.
51-60 The character sees extremely vivid hallucinations of their worst fears or traumatic experiences from their past and must succeed a DC20 Wisdom saving or come under the effects of Phantasmal Killer and Blindness/Deafness for their full duration
61-70 The character takes 2d4 bludgeoning damage every minuet spent not unconscious as they punch themselves aggressively without their input
71-80 The character spends their action to intentionally kill the closest person to them until they take damage themselves
81-90 The character’s Max HP is reduced by half and must succeed a DC25 Constitution check when they become frightened or are surprised as their heart palpitates, on a failure they collapse prone and all movement is reduced to 0 as they take 15d10 damage
91-100 The character cannot rest.

This is a highly exploratory post inspired by some books I delved into recently as well as exfatloss' recent post about satiety (why would salsa and sour cream be such appetite enhancers? What is it about them??).
I guess we sometimes need to engage in knowledge 'fishing expeditions' and just hope some patterns emerge. This is a sub with a lot of first hand experience various food / macro restrictions who pays attention to what they eat and how they feel about it more than the general population.
Please share your accounts of various cravings / satiety experiences while on different restricted diets. It can be something you experience now or have experienced in the past. It can be something you have noticed in your pets or farm animals (we're not that different from them after all!). It can be transient, or something you experience your whole life. I would like to collect these hunge satiety narratives.
Give as much background as you can remember - what was your diet (approx macros, types of food). How long did craving / satiety last? Did you give into it? Does it drive you to overeat / undereat? Did it feel like the mental 'want' was disconected from physical intake (ie. My stomach is distended from overeating, but still crave some more)? How long does the drive to eat / avoid food lasts? What was your energy / mood levels at the time? Do you have any medical conditions that may influence it? Were you taking any drugs or supplements at the time? What is your hunch on why the craving / satiety happened? What are the most delicious things you've ever tasted? If you had them repeatedly, would they lose appeal? What foods feel satisfying? What foods make you not able to take another bite?
To have any chance at patterns emerging, I'd prefer us to stick to natural products driving cravings / satiety or minimally processed foods. For processed food, please indicate the ingredients on it, including any fortification that may apply in your country. The more complex the ingredient list, the harder it will be!
We know so little of how hunger, satiety and cravings work, and yet it is so important. This interplay of 'feelings' ensures an animal (incl we) can meet its energy needs and (more impressively!) get a huge array of chemicals needed to buid and maintain its body structures and keep going a huge number of chemical processes going.
Given access to a variety of (natural) food - hunger, satiety and cravings manage to get this 'procurement' system going to astonishing precision. How?
What things can a body trigger cravings for? Is it just minerals? Macros? Amino acids? Types of fat? When does satiety kick in? Is it driven by energy needs being met? Micro nutrient needs being met? A combination of both? Which macro and which micro nutrient combos? Do other food compounds (e.g. flavonoids, protease inhibitors, anti nutrients) make a difference? Do mildly toxic plant compounds (tannins? Protease inhibitors?) trigger satiety? Can certain macros not be processed corectly into energy without given micro nutrients? Does the body know & try to correct that? How does the body know it has a need for something? How does it turn that need into a sensation of hunger / satiety? How does it know / learn what external food product can meet that need?

The Company has now completed the compilation and interpretation of the results from the 2023 15,000 meters ("m") drill program and as well the analysis of the two geophysical surveys completed in November and December 2023. Several prospective geological, geophysical and drill targets have been identified and will be subject of field work in the coming weeks. The purpose of the field work is to prioritize drill targets in preparation for a 9,000 m diamond drill program scheduled later this year. Dr. Jébrak is a well-known professional geologist with a deep understanding of the Desmaraisville camp geology, gained from prior work in the region. He is a former Vice-President for Research and Creation at UQAM and holder of the UQAT-UQAM Mining Entrepreneurship Chair.

Highlights of the Field Work
At the Desmaraisville South and North Properties, the field work is scheduled to commence late May 2024. The field programs will consist to: 1) evaluate several gold showings located within or at vicinity of the Opawica-Guercheville and the Wedding-Lamarck corridor of deformation where previous exploration works have returned very high-grade gold intersections in drilling and channel sample with values of 234.0 g/t over 0.4 m and 582.0 g/t Au over 0.53 m respectively, 2) map and sample outcropping areas with potential near surface gold bearing structures on both properties, 3) assess low-density circular features (Bouguer anomalies possibly corresponding to late felsic intrusions like the O'Brien Syenite Intrusion) interpreted from the high-resolution airborne gravity survey, 4) evaluate OreVision® 2D IP conductors and resistivity anomalies at the Desmaraisville South Property and 5) map and re-sample old gold bearing trenches to better assess their gold potential (Figure 1). Any positive results from these programs will help the Company to better focus and prioritize its diamond drill targets. The proposed 9,000 m drill program will commence later this year.

Brokered Private Placement Updates
Following the closing of the brokered private placement for proceeds of $8,541,250 (see press release of May 3, 2024), the Company paid a syndicate of agents led by Eight Capital, who acted as lead agent and sole bookrunner and that included Cormark Securities Inc. (collectively, the "Agents"), cash commissions of $549,037 and issued to the Agents compensation options and warrants to purchase an aggregate of 2,004,500 common shares of the Company at a price of $0.25 per share exercisable for a period of four years from closing. I know this is unlikely to ever happen because the Dark Elves arent that popular and CA would have to be barral scraping for lords and units and the Dark elf roster is actually quite complete and adding anything might bloat it.
But at a campaign level I really want to see them get at least a once over.
None of the DE lords have interesting mechanics.
Malekith and Morathi you can get away with because they are base lords and for the most part base game lords are meant to have low key or background mechanics.
But Hellebron, Malus, Rakarth and Lokhir all have low key background mechanics.
No Darkelf legenday lord has anything as interesting or as engageing the workshop.
Or even Eltharions Athal Tamara. Or tenehunin's pyramid. They have no forge of daith or rampage. No political systems.
Both Hellebrone and Malus's mechanic is pushing a button to make somthing happen. The difference being if you don't push Hellebrons button you get debuffs and if you don't press Malus's button you turn him into a powerhouse at the cost of fucking over your empire.
It is actually better to confederate Malus than play as him, because you get all his full possession benefits with none of the empire crippleing downsides.
Lokhir's whole mechanic is he gets a free black ark per port. Is this powerful? yes, of course it is. Is it intersting, exciting or engaging the player in anyway? No. You were going to take that settlement anyway. His 'mechanic' is giving you a freebie for what you were already going to do.
Rakarth has his beast pens. An almost exact copy of the system Drycha uses, with almost the same units outside the ones added from other races. And you earn beasts by? fighting and raiding. So. You know. What you were already going to do. No monster hunts. No interesting mission chains were you subjugate creatures of legend. Not even unquie RoR beasts. And before you say he was FLC. So was Imrik. So was Epidemius.
People complain about lizardmen getting screwed over in their DLC's. I'd argue they at least had effort put into them and their mechanics. Sure, Nakai is janky. But he has an interesting mechanic and way that he interacts with the world. Sure. tenehunin'a pyramid is not as interesting as Ikit's workshop. But it's far more interesting than anything any DE lord ever got.
Don't get me wrong. Dark Elves are fun to play, their roaster is fun to use. I love the hydra. Malekith and Morathi are my favorite charecters in the setting and their campaigns are fun. All their campaigns are fun to a degree. But they barely stand out from each other mechanically. And for both Hellebron and Malus your better off confederating them than playing as them. Thats how bad their mechanics are.
So I really hope Dark Elves get some attention at the campaign level before CA wraps up.

I've seen a lot of comments on this sub suggesting that MMA is not its own martial art but a combination of other martial arts.
Let's check Wikipedia's definition for martial art:
Martial arts are codified systems and traditions of combat practiced for a number of reasons such as self-defence; military and law enforcement applications; competition; physical, mental, and spiritual development; entertainment; and the preservation of a nation's intangible cultural heritage.
MMA quite clearly fulfills that; it is specifically practiced in for competition or other applications. As a sport it has its own codified rules. It has built its own culture and history, which is one aspect of having a tradition.
Does MMA then have its own unique techniques? Well, fighting against the cage might include somewhat unique approaches, but it's really not a relevant question. There are lots of martial arts that share all their techniques with other martial arts. E.g. pretty much everything in BJJ also exists in judo. Or, every technique in most styles of kickboxing are also in muay thai in one form or another.
Do MMA athletes just train in a bunch of martial arts and then combine them for MMA? No, not really. A high level MMA fighter is not training 2 days of kickboxing, 2 days of wrestling, 2 days of BJJ and then one day of combining them together for MMA. They train most of their time specifically for MMA, under the context of the MMA ruleset. Nowadays more and more MMA fighters come with no notable background in any martial art other than MMA, and this includes even some UFC champions. Many MMA gyms offer MMA specific classes for all days of the week.
MMA is not boxing combined with kickboxing combined with wrestling. Techniques have their own pros and cons in the MMA context. The typical MMA stance is not the same, the typical distance is not the same, the typical pacing is not the same.
And the naming? It's called mixed martial arts after all. But that's honestly just a name. In e.g. my native tongue, the word for MMA is "vapaaottelu", meaning "free competition" more or less. The name has historical reasons, since MMA was originally envisioned as bringing together representatives of different martial arts and seeing which martial art was best. That's not the case anymore.
So.. MMA is its own martial art as well as a combat sport. One that borrows heavily from other martial arts and combat sports and takes what works in them for itself and disregards the rest.

I observe practically that, though the world is changing, church strategy is also changing in complementing the growth. It still targets the set mission. Even though, somewhere in the corner hypocrites do exist but church leaders aim to find out what is the outcome in the people from the traditional, theological and biblical practices.
Perhaps according my research, I suggest they experiment bringing out good approaches to youth’s growth. Instead of the current activities followed in churches I would want to suggest the approach can be focused to bring in the outcome irrespective to exploration and innovation of ideas and thoughts for internal and external behaviour of an individual related to the surroundings around him, deepening of commitments to the teaching, provide opportunities to analyse socially and theologically and viewing his life in a theological manner. To build a framework of an activity consist of – to have an experience “like us”, to sense new boundaries by exploring new links to every Christian among themselves and to god across social and cultural boundaries.
In addition, exploration and inventive programmes can be executed to judge youth’s spirituality. Daily opportunities resulting in disorientation gets support through mission of god. Integration conceptual activities also can help in building and to capture ‘a born leader’. Church leader serves them as task leaders in the corrosion and freeing the task of a disconnected mind by planning tactics and dividing the burden of other’s through consultation. As the purpose is commitment, to serve the lost, skill based leadership formation training programmes can be organized to develop an effective leader so as to sustain the capability and capacity of the leader to solve the complaints lies in the dimensions of the ability. Workshops on intersections to shape boundaries of an individual and communities through theological and biblical language, symbols, and rituals to attain certain centered objectives.
As growth of globalization is tremendous, these leaders come across and face new opportunities and challenges. They tend to produce facilitate management sources to sustain and develop faith and love. When the youth develops a church from within, he will be able to observe and analyse the holistic environment.
The activities require presence of not only church members but also worshippers for youth development in successful implementation of these practices. Some worshippers form in small groups, some large varied to race culture. Arthur Paul Boer also examines simultaneously that when a group of pastors were having service of congregation, one among them exclaimed in deep breath “It showed me I’m not alone”. So often in our churches we berate ourselves for problems we face: not enough men, too few youth, preponderance of a certain race or culture. Due to less number of youth, less support is achieved to sustain the laws and policies of the church and unable to accomplish god’s mission. It is not only one who contributes but many. Above mentioned statement “It showed me I’m not alone” expresses that each race and culture form their own group; build small churches for their own community within their own boundaries, where god expects togetherness, wholeness. It requires lot of efforts to help small churches grow whereas large church with mass contribution grows as their already exist efforts in large numbers which take over the chained actions for development. Whether single church group or many, big or small, the development is important.
On this contradiction, I would suggest that this also includes that in small group the development is paid more attention and given a close eye, problems are spotted quickly and easily to meet the challenges. No matter how large or small challenges occur, the way we approach it is unique and comprehensive as this brings out effects of development in the youth. Whereas in large it becomes difficult to assist as there are more than one individuals. Due to small groups according to races and culture, differentiation exists. But the important criterion is group commitment and work effort in all sets of practice for congregations in any race or culture for a healthy youth so that to accomplish god’s mission. As a result both objectives are co-related to each other.
To understand the nature of Christian youth it is a very distinguished and a unique phenomenon. Due to the increasing issues of ‘peer pressure’, this has led to the obstruction in the development of youth. There are negative as well as positive aspects of it. Negative aspects influence a weaker mind. It is the most consistent findings revealed in observation. Due to the inquisitive innocence, an innocent becomes a prey of the negative aspect, thereby exploited and develops an evil companionship where he adopts negative qualities and habits. But there is positive aspects as in there are some groups who work towards peer relationship. Here innocent gets an opportunity to identify his fear, weakness and have control over his own power. The peer mentors play the part in organizing programmes to understand the behaviour. They interact with the teens and open lines of communication, build up action plans to change the behaviour by using the discipline skills wherever necessary. As church members play an integrate role, it is a challenge for them to develop the youth and make Christian education reachable to them.
Teachers are responsible preachers. Youth growth depends on a teacher infact they are the true facilitators of our learning, are Baptist figures and true authors of an individual’s life book. They also act as the resource developer and planner setting the curriculum for the healthy growth of an individual, depending how the curriculum is designed with the kind and level of leadership skills to recognize the youth psychology. Parents play a significant role in Christian education. They are the promising leaders which shape up Christianity, infact are the real teachers of Christian education. Parents act as a moral standard and support, therefore can synchronize to their growing youth to be aware from their early hood to gain knowledge in Christian faith and this is done when they themselves too experience a fullness of church.
Misunderstandings and miscommunication between parents and their children are one of the issues which follow breakings in the development of the youth. Due to parent’s own principles, for respect and love of family values often creates harmness to the children’s growth which tempts them to behave against them. Thus youth becomes a totalitarian of his own life by going against the values and ethics and unknowingly gets stucked in the torturous situations. Most Christian youth, fail to act upon the 10 commandments of bible.
I must say, I myself as a youth in my real life experience have observed that the originality of the commandments has changed excessively and replaced with the following:
Thou must worship money
Thou must “lyrically” murder
Thou must have evil possession
Thou must have sex
Thou must enjoy drug addiction
Thou must prosper, worship own self
Thou must not feel guilty
Thou must have no respect for ancestral values
Thou must not serve, sacrifice
Thou must differentiate
Due to the above, youth fails to feel guilty in which guiltness is a part of our conscience creating a false belief system as an obstacle in his maturity and creating structure of his own. Under such circumstances he avoids promoting prayer, sacrifice, grace, redemption, worship and meditation, atonement. Considering money and sex are the only two things reliable to satisfy the needs, creating a limitation and a boundary for establishing personal spiritual growth and development.
In general terms, when the efforts of religious and educational institutions, society lack to perform the planned task for Christian education, a positive approach is expected and constructed to gain knowledge and teaching through parents and teachers. Youth must be aware of guiltiness which is a gift from god to help us in being and doing well.
Still the question is raised in a Journal: Volume 5 Number 4, October 2003 by Author Charlene Tan, “Can Christian teachers and parents teach Christian beliefs without indoctrinating their students and children?”
Yes, they can teach Christian beliefs without indoctrinating their students and children they need to be careful when a child is to be handled as their minds are immature. As this tendency is increased in the youth generation, it is creating gaps between a believer and faith of god.
The question is – How? How can we overcome this problem? Youth have themselves developed a capacity in mind to hear only what pleasures them without taking a decision that whether it is false or truth. My query is – How we can bring these groups of youth closer to god? Unconsciously resulting in unexpected calamities and unknowingly they are unable to repent it wisely. Due to this increasing factor, youth can’t get a grip of effective communication and develop themselves internally. Here the parents then enter the scene to play their role.

The main question lies whether the local churches fulfill and meet to mature disciples in Christian education?

As stated above, ‘youth’ are the most critical of all critics when it comes to religion. In this modern era, youth is distracted to church because they are building castles in air due to the unmaterialistic desire. Youth today have focused their vision to crave success and prosperity for their rising life graph; they exploit their own ones due to greed and selfishness. During the primary phase of struggle and hard work, youth craves to achieve prosperity, at the same time, do thank god and accept his involvement for success, but hand in hand, lack to follow the bibles ethics which says to respect others in and with unity. Due to the competition and growth politically, more often youth seem to push the fellow mates and strive to takeover their place. They themselves are unaware that they give birth to exploitation and inequality. And due to inequality, unity is declined, wherein bible does not specify inequality. In a book source, Pastor – “Rick Warren’ – illustrates in his book – The Purpose-Driven Church -“The issue is church health, not church growth!” declares warren. “if your church is healthy, growth will occur naturally. Healthy consistent growth is the result of balancing the five biblical purposes of the church.”
In addition to this he also declares that “If u concentrate on building people, God will build the church”.
I agree at a certain point with the above statement. I herewith would want to magnify on “How would one build a healthy youth for a healthy church”? In this sense I believe that both are co-related with each other. Again the issue arises in my mind ‘How will the church be healthy if the youth is unhealthy?’ The issue can’t be only concentrated on church. For a church to survive, the basic foundation is the youth and for the youth to be saved and attracted the church has to be healthy. In my knowledge it is a ‘Vicious Circle’.
Local churches upto some extent do specifically fulfill the discipleship through the practices and play a great emphasis in fulfilling and conveying the message of god to us, but still lack to read the minds and bring the youth closer to her, for which she has to upgrade her atmospheric appearance with new packages to reach the youth in a new taste due to the competitive modernism which is hovering on the youth.
The latter part can play the best part coz when first falls in place, everything else falls in place, from the beginning to the end, from all angles in all walks of life. Towards a healthy faith, healthy church can turn and seed a growth of spirituality through which mankind will grow spiritually from within thereby causing church growth.
Author Perry G. Down states in his book – “Teaching for spiritual growth” that ‘how can we best enable Christians to grow towards maturity?’ For this question he suggests three key concepts- ministry, believer, and purpose. But my understanding says that these concepts are incomplete somewhere to create a bond in reaching the results because today’s youth is attracted towards the unrealistic worldly matters, but has resulted in declination towards the god’s spiritual growth. The major role connecting these three concepts is commitment and effort. As the church ministry is the foundation pillar, the main aim is how much measure of commitment is valued and given to achieve the target successfully. Mankind is able to commit only when he chooses the right direction in fear and is able but this is unfortunate as the alien world tend to let us unidentify the type of strategies of growth for maturity. By identifying the type of strategies of growth, we can understand the level of growth required towards maturity at which we can be spiritual. Another reason for in growth is fear. As the youth fears to face unexpected problems, the efforts are less and require the hierarchy’s support.
Author Gary C. Newton stated in his book – “Going towards spiritual maturity” quotes the principle that “God is ultimately responsible for all spiritual growth”. The question arises at this point that if god is responsible for everything, what will be the purpose and role of human? I comment that while god supplies the resources like bible, church, Holy Spirit, baptism, it is also our responsibility to supply effort and commitment to utilize those resources and give results to god. In bible, Paul highlights this principle of his personal lifestyle and in his teachings comparing with the example of a soldier or athlete to illustrate the amount of sincerity and efforts. (1 Corinthians 9:24-27), Paul states that “In a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize”. I herewith conclude in a Christian race all runners (ministry, believers, purpose) will fail to get a prize if there is no effort that is commitment from everyone.
Along with the concept of ministry, believer, purpose; effort is also the key concept and it has to be achieved from the youth as well. A healthy youth will gain efforts only when the growth will favour them from within, when the forces of the ministry believers and youth will collide with each other to form a healthy growth.
This will create a mutual relationship between god’s provisional resources and our active involvement in process which is more clearly in Philippians 2:12-13: “Continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, for it is god who works in you to will and to act according to his good purpose”. This principle is intricate but the application is clear.
If one is to grow towards maturity in Christ then one must cultivate and demonstrate the efforts with passion, Philippians 2:17-18: ” But even if I am being poured out like a drink offering on the sacrifice and service coming from your faith, I am glad and rejoice with all of you. So you be glad and rejoice with me”.
Therefore the conclusion lies in the above concept, both; effort of the youth along with the work of ministry, believers proves in the healthiness of the church. In the book “Youth At Risk” by Peter Christian Olsen, 2003, he highlights four basic needs which he has clearly created an awareness of the effects that affects the development of youth:
Acceptance – belonging
New beginnings and second chances – forgiveness
Significance – generosity
Freedom – independence
I agree with his confirmation that he examines in deriving the above developmental needs from the provision of the Almighty’s resources as the absence of these needs do intentionally contribute in how they shape the personality, maturity, responsibility and stability of emotions. He emphasizes Christian community in respond to the needs determining that, the resources will be polishing youth through support during the fear and avoid them from destruction. At times the concepts will be foreign, indigestive for youth because unable to realize its importance. Rather the community need not re-interpret or change the language but simplify their thoughts and improve their visionary and understanding by change in structure through a friendly communication by becoming an effective leader to bridge the gap between the church and the youth. Therefore forces and efforts are needed for decision making which is an effective key in respond to ministry believer and purpose for a possibility of a healthy youth to build a healthy church, which will make the church flourish.

A 17-year-old Jude from Kent says confidently that “He does not agree with the church who talks on subject morality” and is “Overfilled with traditionality”.
Youth pick their ideas which suit their taste through various religious beliefs. There are few in bunch who strongly believe, there exist only single religion which has controlled the truth. Young generation refer to perform all activities as per their own desire which in return less importance to the religious belief are being given, which gives birth to the side effects of the conduct.

Q.2 Why do young crowd feel that Christianity is not a ‘happening’ cultural activity?

An 18-year-old Marcus said that he left church when he was 15 because the teachings did not amuse him and it did not interest him of anything as a youth.
The major quest, a struggle for a religion is to impose an exertion of force of involvement in terms of attraction. I usually attend church service wherein I find young ones missing the services. I kept questioning myself that, where the young crowd has disappeared? Surprisingly the young ones have taken charge for the attendance of the church. As the attendance of the youth in church has declined, but on the other hand people practicing approaches are increasing in numbers. The following is revealed through one of the youths that more the deepening are the studies of the bible, more a person becomes a hypocrite of the Christian leadership and unintentionally accepts and performs the lifestyle of the clergy right or wrong at times unknowingly. In such case, the practices are affected and become different from those which are to be precise. Seen are still some true Christian youngsters who are different in their attitude and conduct, but in spite of such difference, they are not involved into the immorality and violence activities with other youths. I was looking at Nextorch.de and saw 2 alternate tail caps for the TA30C, which I did not see anywhere else. Both seem appealing. I'll stick to objective reporting and then include my opinion separately at the end. Now, let's talk about the original tail cap's function:

Original Tail Cap:

  1. Basically, rotary for constant on, tail button for momentary and overrides whatever mode you previously set it to.
  2. Example 1: You set it to off, you hit Wall 1, you get momentary high (this overrode the previous "off" status). Upon release, it goes back to off.
  3. Example 2: You set it to strobe, you hit Wall 1, you get momentary high (this overrode the previous "strobe" status). Upon release, it goes back to strobe.
Now, let's look at the alternate tail caps Nextorch offers (for the TA30C) on their German website: OS-TA30C "Operator" and KS-TA30C "K.I.S.S".

OS-TA30C "Operator":

  1. In short, this means that, if you need momentary-only in tactical applications, you now have the option of: (A) 1600lm momentary on + 1600lm momentary strobe, or (B) 300lm momentary on + 1600lm momentary strobe. And you lose the option for toggle-on strobe - strobe will always be at full brightness nonetheless, except that it is now only available in momentary and is only accessible via tail switch (Wall 2).
  2. They've provided an explanation as to why they included the new mode: multiple reports/complaints from EMS users. They've found the momentary 1600lm counterproductive at times when used indoors at shorter ranges (e.g., behind a door) and especially so when the walls are white or have mirrors installed. With the OS-TA30C, the user can now opt for a lower momentary high whilst still be able to access strobe in full brightness (1600lm).

KS-TA30C "K.I.S.S.":

Personal opinion:

About the OS-TA30C "Operator". It seems well executed. Not just for the purpose of not being blinding to the user, but also for an extended runtime. Hopefully, that also means it's 100% stable too, the original TA30C's medium of similar brightness does dim a bit over time as battery voltage drops even though it does not get hot. The new medium mode of 160lm is still enough for outdoors usage if there's not much light pollution. However, this also means that if you need just a bit more light, the next mode up is basically what other brands call turbo. It's entirely dependent on your usage whether this is an upgrade or downgrade. New runtimes are not provided as of now, I think it will greatly benefit the user if it becomes available.
On that note, runtime based on 3500mAh is likely more useful than for USB-C 2600mAh - I'm pretty sure if you bought spare batteries for the light and it doesn't have a port on it, you most likely would go for the 3500mAh ones since the TA30C does not require the high discharge ones that cap out at 3000mAh unlike some of the much brighter Weltools. Providing data for both may seem redundant but it'll definitely be the best of both worlds if USB-C 2600mAh continues to sell TA30C's with the older stock when Nextorch is now selling USB-C 3400mAh 18650s. The user won't have to guesstimate that way. Almost forgot about runtime for 2xCR123A in the process.
Regarding the KS-TA30C "K.I.S.S": I'm not sure if having a rotary control just for locking was necessary when it serves the same function as half twisting the actual cap itself. Maybe the threads are unanodised this time unlike the original to ensure a more reliable connection? That's my most logical assumption. Either way, I'm sure they've considered that and ended up keeping the rotary function. It's not listed whether they made the same two-stage switch and made both walls momentary high, or if they made a new switch entirely with only a stage for the sole function of momentary high. The latter would clearly be more intuitive, not making the user feel oh seems like a mode is missing (1 mode so 1 wall).
Either way, great thanks to Nextorch for offering solutions via selling of alternate parts so users don't have to buy a highly identical light just to change the UI. I sure hope they have plans to inform users on other platforms about these two products and make them available for websites targeting other regions and/or in different languages (or if they already did that and I'm just not aware of it). I think it's worth looking at and then decide for yourself whether it has features you wish the TA30C did differently. After all, it's a simple tail cap change. Does not involve retiring a perfectly functioning light to "the drawer".
Personally, I think a hybrid between the original tail cap and the KS-TA30C would be extra appealing to EDC users (maybe SST-40 changed to the 4000K CRI≥95 SFT-40). Single-level tail button (only momentary high, no momentary strobe). Better yet if there's stepless in between the notches and 100% stabilised output, even if that means getting capped at a much lower max lumen, e.g., momentary high/strobe can be 1600lm but constant high is dimmer yet stable.
Edit: They also have "RS-TA30C" (tape switch) for WML conversion, with a cable running 20~45cm. However, that is beyond my level of expertise to comment on. They also now sell 3400mAh USB-C 18650. Not sure if the newer TA30C purchases allow the option to upgrade to 3400mAh battery (from the previous/default 2600mAh).

2024.05.16 12:10 -Zenitsu- Learning Grammar seperately vs Vocab seperately

I'll try keep this short because I could ramble all day but it's definitely something interesting I noticed.
While immersion learning still hasn't broken into the mainstream yet, it's becoming an accepted method especially in online spaces.
I've noticed discussions online about people wanting to learn kanji separately and ​of course, everyone states the obvious in that you will be less likely to understand or acquire a word simply by reading it in a vocab list, and should instead find it in content that you can understand.
What I don't get though is that if you turn around and say the same thing about grammar - you are met with ??? and also "why wouldn't you just pick up a textbook/ grammar guide" in response.
If your knee-jerk reaction there is to call out and say "hey well how else would you be able to understand the fundamentals" I can understand the viewpoint in which you're coming from but I feel like it's coming from the wrong place.
No matter what level someone is at - if they're truly serious about learning the language, then they'll come to the realisation that learning and having knowledge of something is different than acquiring it, so regardless of whether someone has knowledge of 10, 20, 500, 1000 words before going into content - that won't instantly ensure they are able to understand it - they'll just FEEL less overwhelmed because it appears like you've got something to work with (and hey I'd be lying if it wasn't slightly less stressful doing that lol).
No matter what though, you'll come across sentences all the time that have all vocabulary/grammar that you "know" and it should make sense but it just doesn't. At times that can be with or without complicated grammar, and I guess that's my point
No matter what you do, your perception of all of these ideas will change over time - and for the difference in the way each of these concepts are separated is super strange to me considering how similar it is to how you actually acquire them.
I also find that when I feel I've "concretely" grasped a grammar concept from a guide, there'll be times where I tunnel vision and focus on one specific idea that the guide presented that isn't correct - or straight up miss a separate one being used because I'm mismatching/crossing wires that would never be connected if you just learn them separately.
Anyone have similar experiences or maybe some pushback? Interested to hear what everyone has to say
