Up for raffle is a spyderco frn stretch 1 satin HAP40/SUS410 blade and burnt orange handles and a MXG deep carry clip. This is a catch and release for me since I don’t do well with tool steel. Centers with great action and a solid lock up. Some scratches on the SUS Steel that it came with. I’ve also read that it is prone to scratching very easily but they are hard to see. Other than that this knife is in mint condition. Absolutely a fun lockback. It comes with a box paper work and the og clip.

2024.05.16 20:58 Smeeizme Going to college soon, need a laptop that can handle my hobbies & education
- Total budget (in local currency) and country of purchase. Please do not use USD unless purchasing in the US:
Roughly $2,000 (I also know someone who can get me a hefty discount, so feel free to go a bit above); United States
- Are you open to refurbs/used?
Yes, but nothing too old
- How would you prioritize form factor (ultrabook, 2-in-1, etc.), build quality, performance, and battery life?
Build quality > performance > battery life > form factor
- How important is weight and thinness to you?
Weight and thickness do not matter much
- Do you have a preferred screen size? If indifferent, put N/A.
Large or medium-large, good resolution (above 1080)
- Are you doing any CAD/video editing/photo editing/gaming? List which programs/games you desire to run.
I intend on running Video games, 3D modeling and art programs, and VR games.
- If you're gaming, do you have certain games you want to play? At what settings and FPS do you want?
Higher (not necessarily best) graphics settings, at least 60fps.
- Any specific requirements such as good keyboard, reliable build quality, touch-screen, finger-print reader, optical drive or good input devices (keyboard/touchpad)?
Good (not creaky or too loose) keyboard, reliable, good amount of normal USB and USB-C ports
- Leave any finishing thoughts here that you may feel are necessary and beneficial to the discussion.
I want this to be a computer I can use for a solid while, don’t go crazy future-proofing but I’d prefer to use this for a long time. I really prefer it to be VR compatible as well, if possible.

2024.05.16 20:22 SultanOfSodomy Building a PC for a specific scientific software (specs inside). What about these 3000€ builds?
Hi!
I'm selecting parts for ~3000€ PC+Case+Monitor for a specific scientific software. I'd appreciate your help in maximizing the performances I can get from the budget.
Here's the recommended software specs:
- Intel Core CPU with 8+ cores and AVX support (I know it to be AVX-512)
- 32 or more GB RAM
- *some generic HDD for large data*
- 1TB or more SSD
Here's the enterprise solution listed in software specs pdf. I have no idea how good the proposed enterprise machine is as I have no idea how old the software specs are:
- 2x Intel Xeon-Silver 4110
- 256GB DDR4 2666 ECC REG
- 5x 4TB HDD (not specified but I'd bet in RAID5)
- 2x 2TB SSD (not specified but I'd bet RAID1)
Monitor is 21:9 ~ 27/29". No gaming stuff, it just need to contain a lot of windows and plots. I selected the cheapest decent monitor in range.
Not required but nice to have:
- fast copy from external USB disk. USB4/Thunderbolt could be very interesting.
- some minimal CUDA required. No large models, just running specific kernels for image analysis. 4060 with 8GB should be more than sufficient as the task is largely CPU bound.
- analysis might be days long without interruption. Not interested in overclock, just best compromise of performance and stability for the available budget.
- not interested in case window and/or RGB/LED. Silent boring monolith is my preferred way. But if colorful ends up cheaper is ok, too.
My 3 different
pcpartpicker.com ideas:
- strong desktop AMD CPU with AVX-512 (Ryzen 9 7950X3D)
- strong desktop Intel CPU with AVX-512 (Core i9-10980XE)
- last generation strong desktop CPU (Core i9-14900K, that has no AVX-512)
Long time since my last build, and first time user of
pcpartpicker.com, so I might be doing some errors here, please be patient. I've also enabled the comments there so please feel free to roast by builds there.
I tried to select RAM memory according to QVL list for each selected motherboard, but I don't know how strict those are. Please fine the link to QVL list in the description of each build.
I selected only the items available on italian Amazon

2024.05.16 18:12 carssp Building My First PC!
Hi, I am a first time pc builder. If someone could look over my build and make sure that I have not made any big blunders I would appreciate it! Additionally, if there is something you think I could do better, please leave your advice for a more cost effective build.
Thanks!
Info:
-brand new build
-1080 monitor
-I have all peripheral devices such as a mouse and a keyboard.
-I will use this pc to play helldivers 2
-I live in the US, but not in a state with a micro center.
-I do not need a monitor
-$1000-$1200 budget
-I will be using wired ethernet.
-I like the larger size case and an atx motherboard. -I do not care about aesthetics or noise at all (as long as it doesn't sound like a leaf blower). -Wanting an AMD cpu as I heard that they will continue to support the am5 socket for some time, which is not the case with intel currently. Again, I would like to be able to upgrade this pc in the future. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/L6QXQP submitted by

2024.05.16 16:56 Viselc Could use some feedback for my new 4070 Super build
Hey Everyone
After almost 9 years, I'm starting to see the first malfunctions and issues with my old 1080 build.
I've therefore decided to with an upgrade again, hoping that this one will also be enough for the next years.
This is my current list:
PCPartPicker Part List I'll primarily be using it for gaming (Triple A Games as well as games such as Lol, Overwatch, Valorant etc.) in 1440p. I do like the idea of being able to play on 4k eventually, however the main target for the time being is 1440p.
I've also tried to keep the build under 2k. How is it looking for everyone? Anything that could be adjusted?
Is a 850w too much for the pc and should I go for 750?
Appreciate the comments!

2024.05.16 16:21 N0LimiitLos What order should I get a psvr2, sim rig, and oled tv?
Hello everyone, I am stuck between the order of what I want to get for my gt7 sim rig.
Things on my list:
psvr2 (of course) $550 next level racing gt track $947.99 lg c3 oled 42 inch $896.99 Right now, my sim rig one of those shitty wheelstands that wobble everywhere and a chair behind it. The screen is a crappy ass tcl s450g. I’m wondering what I should get first, because everything is killing the fun. I put a yoga mat under my wheelstand and chair so they don’t slide away from each other, and weights on the wheel stand so it don’t wobble too much. It still creaks and squeaks a lot though. The tcl has insane backlight bleed and makes 4k somehow look like 1080 with the amount of stairstepping I get. The tv definitely ruins the experience more for me.
I’m thinking the order I want to get everything is the psvr2 first, the sim rig second, and the oled last. I’m just worried I won’t be playing the psvr2 too much because it seems like a chore. The tv is more comfortable for a long time, and it’s probably less tiring. The price difference is huge though. Plus, I won’t see my shitty sim rig in the meantime. And I might not even want the oled after using the psvr2. But what do yall think? Anyone with all of these that can tell me what order to get everything?

2024.05.16 15:57 Noveria_Corp Allies for Dwarfs?
Hello,
Currently working on a Dwarf army, mostly GW with some highland miniatures sculpts in leu of oldemetal kits.
I’m really liking the Highland miniatures mounted dwarf range and am hoping to used them for proxies of empire knights/demigrpyh knights.
Any thought on if this is a useful addition to dwarf list? Seems it would go a long way to mitigating mobility issues. How useful are a bunch of mounted empire knights in dwarf list?

2024.05.16 15:40 pedrobuffon Question about nat rule.
Hi guys, i'm a little confused about an idea of nat rule, that was not supposed to work but works.
The following rules:
;;; Proxy
chain=dstnat action=dst-nat to-addresses=10.0.0.2 protocol=tcp src-address-list=Cloudflare dst-address-list=WANs dst-port=80,443 log=no log-prefix=""
;;; Mailcow
chain=dstnat action=dst-nat to-addresses=10.0.0.253 protocol=tcp dst-address-list=WANs dst-port=80,443,25,110,587,465,993,995 log=no log-prefix="
So for the proxy one i'm proxying via cloudflare and comming to the rule with a filter for only cloudlfare's IPs, to my nginx proxy manager, that works for security but my mailcow doesn't access the web page cuz it's not being proxied via cloudflare cuz it would not work for mail server.
So i added another port 80 and 443 to my mailcow ip, keeping the one in proxy as it is. And it works!!!
Now for the question, is this the right way to do it? My gut says something is wrong, it does not make sense that i can port-forward the same port to 2 internal IP's and make it work as intended.

2024.05.16 15:21 IronSkywalker Help me be "that guy" to one of my buddies.
Basically, we've got a mini tournament between our friend group, and this one guy always gets memed on and loves talking up how good his army is etc.
I want to fully tailor my list to counter his, I don't care if I don't win a single game. I have even told him I'll be doing it. I'm not talking about full "that guy" I'm not going to enforce rules, play any gotchas or any of that shit. I just want to meme on him all in good fun.
He plays Black Templars, uses big Crusader blobs, Helbrecht, 3 Ballistus Dreadnoughts, Gladiator Lancer, a stack of Bladeguard Vets and some other filler bits.
What am I best bringing to counter his heavy hitters? We are allowing legends and proxies too so nothing is off-limits really.

2024.05.16 15:15 Game_Log Can't hear anything on new pc
I built a new pc recently, updated to Windows 11, and it has been going well, aside from this one major issue. No sound is coming from my monitor. It is detected by my sound settings but i hear nothing. It is at full volume. The monitor itself is connected via an hdmi cable to an RTX 4070. I have tried reinstalling the audio drivers but it does not seem to work. Just connected it to my motherboard (a Gigabyte B650M D3HP AX), and still no sound.
My monitor is listed in the volume mixer as an LG Ultrawide. No idea on further specs, as I do not have the box/manual for it. The resolution is 2560 x 1080, it is not curved, and there is a sticker on the bottom right corner for something called "Energy Star" if that helps narrow down which version the monitor is.

2024.05.16 13:59 SpriteisSpiciewater Koll Cheerios Fridge CEDH
Attempting to build my first CEDH Deck by casually upgrading and buying pieces over time.
I already had Koll built and figured if I was gonna max something out why not my best commander. That being said I’d love some opinions of the overall build.
I know I’m missing a few things like Urza’s Saga, Mox Amber, Mox Diamond and etc but I’m trying to actually own all the pieces of it. I don’t have an issue with using proxies if it’s a tournament that allows them but I’m not trying to main board them. I feel like it deludes the deck if it’s mainly proxies. That why it can retain its value and functionality overtime.
Let me know what you think! See the link below for the deck list.

2024.05.16 11:07 Joppersfufu36 Looking for recommendations for my Urza, Lord High Artificer deck
Hello everyone, I am looking for some advice or overall feedback on my Urza deck. The power level at my LGS is pretty high and so I was aiming for a high power deck that didn’t push into cedh territory. If you were to place it on the number scale I would be looking for 8-9. I also excluded all the free counterspells I don’t own like force of will and force of negation because I was unwilling to purchase them at this point and felt uncomfortable proxying them, but overall I’m just looking for any suggestions on how to make sure the deck is doing what it wants to do. It’s a combo deck at heart looking to generate infinite mana with Urza and win through those means.
Here’s the list:

2024.05.16 09:58 KillBillTW New the finer details of PC building, 7800x3d, need suggestion and opinion on where to swappout parts if need be
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/QFzJ9c I made a build sort of what I want but I don't understand the finer details of a few of these, which of the 2, 16x2 ram sticks I should get, g.skill or corsair vengeance, unless there's a better ram stick around that price range.
Should I go for the Corsair iCUE LINK H150i RGB 63.1 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler or is there a better 1 around this price range?
Could I have picked a better solid State drives and nvme solid state drive? I want it specifically to either be a 1-2tb nvme with a 4tb SSD
Would this SSD be overkill for storage purposes in the sense of price vs value?
Is there a better monitor than ViewSonic OMNI 23.8" 1920 x 1080 165 Hz Monitor for around the price range or is it plenty good?
Also, does it matter which 2nd monitor I get if it's just for scrolling the internet and discord, nothing heavy
I'm unsure of which power supply I should get, any recommendations as I don't understand which power supply would be the proper cables.
Will PC i.e 5 work with this or should I stick with PC.i.e 4?
Ddr5 5600 or 6000?
The purpose I want of this build is for vr gaming (typically vrchat and other vr titles with a vr headset in the future), ultra-max settings gaming, Unity, blender, SSMS, power BI, video editing.

2024.05.16 08:33 WackaFrog Nekusar cEDH
https://www.archidekt.com/decks/5996976/nekusaur_the_mindraiser I want help optimizing nekusar for cEDH. Right now, he does really well in high power EDH, and he can win occasionally as soon as turn 4 (whatnot generally helps). I just don't know how to ramp out much faster earlier. Also, whatnot can stall out and die if I dont have colorless mana fixers or black spells, so I need an izzet mana filter. Beyond this, how do I win faster? I want the deck to have some win cons unique to nekusar, but I don't mind shooting for some infinite mana triggers (or even effects that just generate mana efficiently, like wastenot) or other outlets to win fast.
Current win-cons are underworld breach + ritual effects + wheel out the game, wastenotwheels, or just a couple pingers and some efficient wheels, pinger + phyresis + wheel. Normally, the wheel route takes 2+ turns, but wastenot or breach lines can close out the game the turn I play it. I've thought about using the wheels as an efficient way to dig for win cons instead of a primary win condition itself, whereas I can use them in grindier matchups to push for a win.
Nekusar is normally played as a contingency plan if I need a wheel payoff and don't have one, he's just expensive and doesn't have immediate payoff unless I wheel that turn, so hes hard to rely on.
Any ideas? I'll be brainstorming up some combos on my own, but it's kind of time consuming, so I thought I'd reach out to reddit for some help. I know there are the obvious grixis combos like thoracle+demonic/pact, but feel free to mention them so they're on the board. Any other fun win cons to use? I want ideas!
*budget isn't too relevant, but I only want to proxy for list cards if I can (wheel of fortune). Otherwise, I can put another $150 in and be satisfied.
Edit: I'll edit the deck as comments come in, just to try and keep it updated. Edit 2: I can switch the commander up, but for the sake of it, I want to keep it as nekusar.

2024.05.16 06:30 iRyaaanM Out of loop since 2018, please give me feedback
I used to have an i7 7700k & a GTX 1080 and I would max out virtually every game at 1440p with fps way higher than 60 in a lot of games back in 2020. Please let me know if this build can achieve that.
