2024.05.14 04:09 jsgunn The Book of Queens Part 2: To Awake from the Dream

The sky was dark, and she did not know what she did or why, merely acted. Her tired muscles slowed her, her leg a blaze of agony, and not understanding what she did she moved. There was something, a substance that came from somewhere, and with great effort she wove it together, wove it around herself, and had nothing left in her when she closed it from within.
Consciousness ebbed. There was a lessening of her pain, a fading of the need. The world itself faded, to dimness, then silent darkness until only memory remained. She dreamed then, nebulous things, unformed ideas and half remembered memories and long stretches of nothing. Then all at once there was light again. Almost still utter darkness, but compared to the oblivion she had known it was a world apart. The light slowly increased, then dimmed until darkness was all there was. Again and again and again it happened, and each time the light got a little brighter. Sound was next, at first only a gentle whooshing of fluid, but then there was a voice. Muffled. Not always there, but often. Even when there was only darkness around her.
As the light grew brighter, her hearing grew sharper, and eventually she began to discern words. The voice was her constant companion. It was there when her arms moved for the first time, when she first felt her legs twitch. It was there as the space around her grew smaller. It was there as the light grew brighter. When she first began to notice the warmth that came with the light, and the different warmth that accompanied the darkness. Her consciousness came and went, and sometimes when she woke the voice was gone, and sometimes when she slept the voice was there, and she had only the memory of it to know. Now there were sometimes shapes that she could see moving in the light, only vague outlines but it was a change. There were many, some small and some large, but she found the voice came only from the largest of the shapes, a shape she came to know. A comfort, even when the voice was silent, when she could see that figure moving she knew she was not alone.
The space she was in grew smaller and smaller, and she had to fold herself tighter and tighter. She began to feel afraid, her cramped limbs pressed against the walls. She remembered the impact with the ground, and she feared the pain when this world began to crush her, but the voice was there, calm and soothing, and she began to understand.
The change happened all at once. Tighter and tighter she was bound, her limbs wrapped tightly around herself, when an errant movement caused a tear, and light began to flood in, and there was a great rushing and a tumbling and she fell forward into a pool of fluid. She heaved and liquid poured from her lungs. Again and again, then it was over, and she drew her first breath.
There were strong hands beneath her arms, and she felt herself pulled to her feet where she stood on wobbly legs. The hands held her upright. With an effort she raised her head and saw with clarity the shape that held the voice. “Rise, child, and be welcomed to this world. I name you as queen, and as a queen you are my equal. I am Liamin. What is your name?”“Tisane” She replied before understanding the question. But she had already known it. Known it before that day in the sky. Known it when she first began to understand the words.
Tisane’s head began to loll forward again, the effort of keeping it raised too great. The hands left her for an instant and Tisane felt something settle onto her shoulders. “I wrap you in silk, that you might know dignity.” There was something placed upon her wrists. “I adorn you in gems, that you might know wisdom.” Something light was placed upon her brow. “I clothe you in flowers, that you might know joy.” Finally, something was looped around her neck, and she felt a weight on her chest. “And I give to you a piece of myself, a gift freely given, that you might know strength.” Tisane felt a mouth press against one cheek then the other. “Tisane, it is my honor that you have graced me with your presence. Come, leave your chrysalis behind, it is a relic of the past, a thing you have shed, and that you still live means you have already overcome a great trial.”
Tisane struggled to take a step forward and nearly fell. Only Liamin’s strong hands kept her upright. “I shall carry you in my own arms, as I hope to count you as a friend.” And Tisane was swept up. She struggled to keep her head up, but could only manage for a time. Her body limp, she was carried from the incubation chamber.
Since she’d woken, there had been a growing emptiness inside her. “I am hungry.” She said. Not a command, not a complaint, merely speaking to share information.
“I imagine you must be. Your incubation was quite long.” Liamin said, carefully threading her way through the building. “There is food waiting for you through here.”
Tisane was set in a seat, soft and comfortable, She felt the red velvet beneath her, marveled at the fineness of the carving. The table before her allowed her to support herself more easily, and then the food began to arrive. Tisane had never smelled before, and the aromas that came were indescribable. Food, and great quantities were set upon the polished table before her, and she began to eat. Anything and everything. Fruits and bread and fish. Vegetables and mushrooms and meat. To quench her thirst there was water, and wines, and juices. She ate, and she ate, and Liamin gave name to every dish set before her, though she barely noticed. Slowly Tisane felt strength suffuse her. Or something resembling strength. She felt strong enough to stand, but did not risk it. Instead she raised her head and gaped.
Tisane sat atop a throne, but Liamin sat in a simple wooden chair, only a small portion of simple bread before her. Smiling, the elder queen gestured to herself. “This is something I have chosen for myself, but I shall never foist poverty upon you. I grant you great finery, as that is your due.”
“I do not understand.” Tisane said, feeling her strength wane once more.
“I know. But for now you must rest. Tomorrow I shall begin to instruct you in the ways of being a queen.”

SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS NUMEROLOGY DECODE

Since we all know exactly who and what Spongebob is, I am going to do a Numerology decode.
When it comes to Numerology, there are many different things you can look into. I am going to look into the letters, patterns, and Numerology personality numbers.
SPONGEBOB has a personality #6. 6 is the number of compassion, work ethic, criticism, cleanliness, and productivity. In the funny show, we see that Spongebob is a workaholic. He has a 5 destiny number which shapes who you are overall. 5 is connected to youthfulness which explains the silliness of the Spongebob character. He is always laughing and doing things funny. The 5 energy indicates this. 5 also points to people, places, and things that are unique. He has an 8 soul urge which explains his undying ambition and creativity.
We can see that SPONGEBOB has 2 O's which has the numeric energy of 15 and numeric value of 6. 15 is the creative use of energy for productivity. Again, 6 is the number of routine, work ethic and productivity goes with this. This energy is not only his personality number, but also it is within his name. It's really in him.
SPONGEBOB HAS DOUBLE NUMERIC VALUES IN HIS NAME WHICH ARE, 7,6,5, AND 2. This explains why he is able to show his emotions and have moments of sensitivity(2). Very compassionate(2) but also childish and silly(5) and able to come up with plans that work(7). Since these #s has double influence, we must considered what they equal. 7 twice equals 14/5 which shows how he is responsible and can make work fun even though it is a duty(6). 6 twice equals 12/3 which shows his social skills, life, and creativity. Another youthful energy as well. 5 twice equals 10/1 which points to his bravery and capability to take action. 2 twice equals 4 which is home, family, responsibility, and structure on the home front and he would make everyone feel comfortable for the most part.

2024.05.14 00:06 thinsoldier Could you show me some psudo-code for how to an advanced search form with lots of options?

I've got this old php5 project using mysql_* functions.
99% of the project could be easily ported to some kind of small/minimal framework (front controller, routes, template system, models) but the advanced search form just literally glues together optional fragments of sql query text and I'm having trouble imagining how to evolve that to use a framework's query classes or the PDO in php. Does anyone have an example they could point me to or even just a simplified outline of what they code would work/look like with make believe example code?

2024.05.13 23:12 generally_apathetic Expanding flower bed, weed barrier and soils depth

Hi there! I am attempting to expand an existing flower bed that came with our house when we bought it. The previous owners used that black weed barrier fabric/plastic and it’s poking up out of the soil and flapping in the wind and needs to go. Weeds are coming right through it anyhow and it’s not solving any problems, only adding to it.
The flower beds are outlined with a rock wall. The problem is that the rock wall just circles the flower bed. The soil does not come to the top of the rocks like an actual flower bed should. They were basically put directly into the ground and the rocks were placed around the bed more like a fence than a container.
I’ve had some mold issues and I think the low quality fabric barrier has a lot to do with it. Ideally, what I want to do is remove all the weed barrier fabric, lay down cardboard as a cleaner and more organic weed management option, and add clean, nutrient rich top soil to the beds to bring their depth up to the top of the rock wall so it is a true flower bed. I may use mulch to top it off after.
My question is what is the best way to go about this? Given how low in the bed the flowers are planted, I’m assuming I will have to dig them up and replant them in the clean top soil once the bed is filled properly, correct? Once they are planted I would like to lay the card board around them, then add the mulch to dress it up.
Is this the correct order of operations for a project like this? Am I missing anything or does anyone have any other suggestions? I’m pretty much dead set on NOT using the fabric weed barrier ever again as it has been such a nuisance and totally ineffective. I genuinely hate it.

2024.05.13 22:54 cocoapeeble Anti Harassment Protection Order

Asking for legal advice from the good people of Reddit, as I am out of options at this point. I have court this afternoon.
I’ve filed a restraining order against my partner (who I share a child with, we are attempting to find a 50/50 schedule in a separate case). Restraining order is an anti-harassment order that outlines stalking behaviors.
As a backstory, my partner threatened my family to me prior to breaking up. I’ve submitted text messages that support this, as well as multiple screenshots wherein I ask him to leave my family alone. Since I’ve left he has contacted me and my family ad nauseum. My father and one grandmother respond cordially, and partner has made a point to show up wherever they are and learn their schedules (walking by my grandparents’ where I frequent, looking in their windows (police report filed, not submitted to courts), bringing flowers to my other grandmother after she had cancer removal surgery (it did not go well, nor did she want visitors), calling my father everyday and showing up to his workplace). While all of these interactions appear cordial and respectful, I know that these have the undertone of his previous threat. This morning in court I requested a re-issuance of a temporary order to seek counsel and amend-refile this order to make it no contact. Partner’s lawyer stated that partner had submitted evidence that “proves I’m lying” about partner harassing myself or family members, and my motion for a continuance was denied. I have not a clue what I’m doing, what to say, or what to expect.

African Granny square - beginner crocheter
I have been trying to find a granny square that I like that I think looks good and so far I fell in love with this one. First time I made it so I guess it’s a practice one because I messed up in a couple spots. But it looks really pretty. I used red heart purple tones and red heart retro stripe and Caron simply soft silver sparkle. I also used a plain black to outline the flower. Besides blocking is there anything else I can do to improve? I used a size 4.5 mm crochet hook. I followed a tutorial on YouTube.

[JB CM SEPT ß-1/10] Septenary REDDIT
[JB CM SETP ß-2/10] Septenary 'Fundamentals' REDDIT
CM Septenary DRIVE
A good, good morning/afternoon/evening to all the people of worldbuilding! How is everyone doing this morning/afternoon/evening? I hope the answer is great, because all of you are truly great and deserve the great things in life. Today is an especially great day because it's day 3 of my release of 'Septenary,' a creative tool which comes as part from another project of mine, 'Canon Mode.' The first two links are the first two Reddit posts related to Septenary, the third one is the direct link to the files within this project on Google Drive. Today we'll be opening the second file in either two of the 'CM Septenary COLOGRAYSCALE' folders, the pertaining file is called 'CM SEPT 2 Fundamentals Extended SHEET COLOGRAYSCALE'
CM SEPT 2 Fundamentals Extended SHEET COLOR
CM SEPT 2 Fundamentals Extended SHEET GRAYSCALE
The first thing you'll notice about either of these spreadsheets is they display the 'FUNDAMENTALS Extended 1.0' septenary, except here the cells have been greyed out. This formatting decision was done to illustrate that each column within the fundamentals septenary is not the main focus of this spreadsheet, but are now instead markers for extended sub-septenary groups. There are seven main groups in the 'Fundamentals' septenary and each one has its own extended list of sub-septenaries which help define the main groups.
The greyed out 'FUNDAMENTALS SEPTENARY 1.0' septenary is marked with a '1.0' indicating that it's the root septenary for the rest of the septenaries in the spreadsheet. The second septenary, called 'CHAMPION 1.1,' is marked with a 1.1. This indicates that it's the first septenary to be taken into account for after the root septenary. This post will further explore the 'CHAMPION 1.1' septenary in further detail.
(CHAMPION)
If we look at the 'CHAMPION' marker we can see listed below are its usual seven terms which will act as further markers when used to cross reference other cells within the septenary. If you didn't see yesterdays post, here's a refresher of what the actual definitions of these champions are.
0. Champion: a champion is masterful
  1. Saint: a saint is benevolent
  2. Chief: a chief is leaderly
  3. Sage: a sage is intellectual
  4. Hero: a hero is selfless
  5. Seer: a seer is a visionary
  6. Noble: a noble is honorable
  7. Heretic: a heretic is malevolent
The interesting thing about the 'CHAMPION' septenary is its creation wasn't inspired by mythical or legendary figures, but instead the inspirations for this group actually came from the desire to make a septenary that describes basic and fundamental occupations. When first considering how to create this particular septenary to work as an aid for character creation the important factor here was, "what will they be doing?" That is, what are these characters going to actually be doing once people create them?
{CHAMPION}
There were a few different contenders for the name of the 'CHAMPION' group. Other titles also considered apart from champion were master, legend, hero, and maybe a few more unconventional ones. So what is a champion anyway? Well, it's someone who is victorious. This definition had a really nice overtone of implying someone or something as the ultimate, and greatest that there is. And that's what was wanted to be portrayed alongside with these elements in the list is that these individuals are the absolute best at what they do and have no contenders.
{Trait}
The trait septenary acts as the base defining characteristics of each champion. These are the starting points for building a champion. From here these can act as base traits which can be used to further branch out and find more related traits, behaviors, or qualities that correlate with the type of character one is wanting to build.
{Occupational}
This septenary describes the type of work your champion might be doing. Outside of actually having a literal profession these descriptions can go much beyond in what they're able to explain about what their occupational time is spent doing.
{Class}
This group is much like the same idea of social status. This septenary defines your champions place or position in society.
{Rank}{Title}
These two groupings can be a little difficult to understand without the context of what they were created for. These specifically were meant to illustrate the original seven champions as they were in the fictional universe Dokimi. In the lore of this universe the first seven champions exist at the beginning of time as manifestations of the seven axiom forces. These beings were deities, and existed as the origin of Dokimi. They each had a rank and title, which went as the following.
  1. Lord Saint the Savior
  2. Executive Chief the President
  3. Elder Sage the Legend
  4. Master Hero the Justice
  5. Mother Seer the Universe
  6. Queen Noble the Honorable
  7. Deviless Heretic the Princess
In Dokimi each of these seven champions live up to their rank and title, as each have complete control and influence across their respected domain.
[Conclusion]
It could be said that a champion is always victorious, because if they weren't then they'd no longer be the champion of whatever they're involved in or with. The 'CHAMPION' sub-septenary is meant to provide a strong and potent backbone for creating a champion who is truly worth of their weight in stature and esteem. With this template/outline then so too might you be able to create your own strong and imposing champion worthy of the legends. I hope you've had or will have had fun with this Reddit edition of 'Septenary.' Until next time, happy world building/universe creating to all of you!

Email template for the Governor’s Cabinet and the Legislature below.
Yes, it is long, but it captures a lot of our frustrations.
This subreddit has over 38,000 people. If even 1,000 people emailed all of these folks from Governor’s Cabinet, the Legislature, and Other State Leaders, they will definitely take notice.
THIS IS OUR MOMENT.
There are areas in this email template for you to customize, so please read through it.
I highly recommend Hotmail or Yahoomail. If you use Gmail, you may need to click “Tab” multiple times when entering in so many emails.
You may also wish to send a copy to your own manager, section chief, branch chief, Dept. Director, etc.
Guidelines:
  1. USE BCC (not in the “To” or “CC” section.
  2. REMAIN RESPECTFUL.
  3. OPTICS MATTER. Do not make us look bad in any way.

Dear California State Leaders,
I write to you today as a voter, taxpayer, constituent, and as a State of California employee. My ________years of dedicated work serves Californians every day because my role focuses on supporting _________.
I want to share my personal story and provide some facts and data about the Governor’s new June 17 RTO (Return to Office) arbitrary mandate. This mandate will cost taxpayers more during this budget deficit crisis and it is a poorly thought-out, one-size-fits-all, chaotic approach. According to the survey data from 110 State Departments, telework was a huge success for recruitment, productivity, morale, collaboration, and decreasing office space. This chaotic, mandatory, arbitrary RTO simply creates a long list of unnecessary problems. For all of the reasons outlined in this email, I strongly support Assemblyman Josh Hoover’s audit request.
My message is simple: Encourage the Governor to rescind the June 17 arbitrary RTO mandate. The decision for the frequency that employees should all meet in-person and collaborate should rest with those closest and most familiar with the work: individual Unit Managers. These managers know the true collaboration, mentorship, and operational needs of their individual teams. Individual Unit Managers should be allowed to make decisions on accordingly to carry out the Department’s goals and mission. This is the bottoms-up approach that balances the needs of both the employer and employees. The Governor’s mandate and top-down approach fails to acknowledge the many financial and environmental repercussions to not only its own employees, but also to the State of California.
I want to share my personal story as a working class, public servant. With high inflation, I simply cannot afford to shoulder the cost of commuting, which averages $8,466 annually.. According to this 2023 LAO (Legislative Analyst Office) report, for most employees, our State provided wages have consistently been lower than the inflation rate, year-after-year, since 1999, constantly eroding our purchasing power. Other employees have it worse, such as scientists who have had their salaries be frozen for 4 years since 2020 as CalHR has refused to budge on reaching a contract. Purchasing power is a key metric since a $50,000 salary in 2024 buys far less than in 1999. This 2023 UC Berkeley Labor Center report confirmed that “State workers struggle to make ends meet throughout California.” Even the 2023 California State Auditor reports “that hiring and retaining qualified IT staff is the greatest challenge that they [State Departments] currently face.”
If the State is unwilling to provide market wages that keep up with inflation, the state can recruit and retain employees by improving working conditions, such as telework. Being allowed to telework 5 days a week has helped stretch my limited dollars, especially in this inflationary period. This arbitrary RTO mandate is effectively yet another pay cut for me that I simply cannot afford.
Personally, having the opportunity to telework 5 days a week has dramatically improved my quality of life by:
#############################################################
Tell them why the RTO issue is important to you, your family member and your community.
IF YOU DISCUSS CHILD CARE, ONLY TALK ABOUT THE HOURS BEFORE AND AFTER WORK. DO NOT DISCUSS CHILD CARE DURING YOUR REGULAR 8-5 JOB.
###########################################################
  1. I have saved ____ hours on my roundtrip commute per week. This has allowed me to reinvest that time toward _____. [helping my kids with their homework, taking care of elderly relatives ]
  2. I have saved $___ on commuting costs, which has helped me better afford ___ for me and my family. This has been especially helpful because high inflation has negatively affected me by _____.
  3. By teleworking, I am reducing my environmental impact and contribution to climate change, which is _____
  4. I have a physical disability and telework is more accommodating than using public transportation, etc. (Feel free to expand on it)
  5. I do not live in an area with access to efficient public transportation, so teleworking helps by _____
  6. For childcare during before and after work hours, it would cost me ________.
The State will incur many financial and environmental costs:
  1. If even 33%, or 73,086 out of the 221,474 State employees use the monthly maximum IRS public transportation benefit,) that would cost the State $276.3 million every single year.
  2. State Departments already spend $600 million per year on rent. Many State Departments also simply do not have enough office space for all of their employees currently. There is nowhere near enough quiet conference room space for employees to hold confidential meetings with stakeholders. Will these departments sign new leases for office space?
  3. State Departments will be forced to buy many millions of dollars worth of additional office equipment for employees to effectively carry out their jobs including additional webcams, headsets, keyboards, standard office supplies, etc.
  4. Pursuant to the reasonable accommodation process for employees with verified medical needs, State Departments will need to purchase other expensive equipment, including but not limited to specialized chairs and stand up desks.
    1. It is important to note that many employees have already invested their own money into equipping their own home office that best meets their needs. It is not simply not possible to ask an employee to bring in their own large equipment from home to the office and back, so the State Departments would incur these additional purchases.
  5. State Departments will be spending much more in maintenance costs for elevators, bathroom repairs, printer repairs, electricity, water, gas, and other utilities.
  6. State telework has also eliminated nearly 400,000 metric tons of carbon emissions. Mandating RTO will needlessly cause more carbon emissions, which directly runs counter to the Governor’s own words for his trip to the Vatican: “global temperatures [are] hurtling towards alarming new heights, the stakes could not be higher. There is no greater authority than moral authority — and the Pope’s leadership on the climate crisis inspires us all to push further and faster.”
The arbitrary mandatory RTO causes chaos among State Departments:
Across various departments, it’s common knowledge that a sizable number of executive-level leaders do not reside near Sacramento and instead live in other regions in California, such as the Bay Area and Southern California.
  1. The next logical question is, will the state offer these executive-level leaders special exemptions and privileges not available to rank and file staff and risk the hypocrisy that undermines the Governor’s stated policy for more “collaboration?” This creates another “rules for thee, but not for me” situation.
  2. Or will the State risk losing these executive-level leaders en masse across numerous departments, undermining policy and program implementation?
  3. For Departments considering exempting those who live over 50 miles away, it also destroys employee morale. For example, a 20 year veteran staff member with technical expertise may be forced to commute and come into the office twice a week to train a newer employee over Microsoft Teams or Zoom simply because they live in Los Angeles. This naturally breeds frustration and resentment.
  4. For exempted employees who live over 50 miles away, some Departments are creating policies that their 5 day remote status only applies to their currently held position, so these employees are “forever stuck” and cannot promote upward, even if they have the expertise the Department needs.
  5. The State is starting to open itself up to lawsuits as some Departments are already denying reasonable accommodations for people with disabilities.
  6. Being able to recruit employees from areas other than Sacramento helps ensure Departments get perspectives from different counties all across the State. People from rural, suburban, and urban areas all have different experiences and to best serve ALL Californians, we need a geographically diverse workforce.
  7. As previously stated, many Departments already do not have the office space or needed equipment for all of their employees. With RTO, new equipment will be needed and purchasing equipment notoriously takes a long time. These factors, combined with many departments trying to implement a hoteling system, will ultimately result in a extremely chaotic return-to-the-office and tank productivity. Many Departments have held Q&A sessions and time and time again, HR offices have been unable to answer basic questions about RTO logistics.
Some state employees have discussed that this is their number one quality-of-life issue and may galvanize them to start engaging with media contacts and spread the hypocrisy on social media. Their goal is to highlight the glaring mismatch and hypocrisy between CA’s proud public policies and the actual reality of choices being made by this Administration. Quite frankly, I fear that this may hurt the Governor and other State Leaders in the future. By unilaterally imposing an arbitrary RTO mandate across the board, the Administration is actively choosing to make working class public servant’s lives worse off, so I understand my colleague’s sentiments.
As MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow recently stated to her own bosses, “Hearing legitimate criticism, responding to it and correcting course. Not digging in, not blaming others. Take a minute, acknowledge that maybe it wasn’t the right call. It is a sign of strength, not weakness, to acknowledge when you are wrong.”
To reiterate, my request is simple: Encourage the Governor to rescind the arbitrary, mandatory, one-size-fits-all, chaotic RTO mandate. Allow individual Unit Managers the flexibility to enact telework policies that best meet their team’s needs to effectively carry out the Department’s mission. They are the ones closest to the work and the ones most knowledgable about what the team needs to succeed.
I respectfully request a response within ten business days.
Respectfully yours,
_________

2024.05.13 15:31 Brandonkb2010 Could anyone photoshop me birthday invitations for my daughter's first birthday?

Hi everyone, our little girl is having her very first birthday party in July. The theme is "Mercy's Fairy First Birthday" .. Fairies, bright colored flowers, glitter, fairy dust, etc. I don't have details just yet as in address or time but I figured it would be good to give head notice so whoever wants to try their hand at it can. Could anyone make me an invitation template? It'll most likely be Facebook digital invitation only but we're not completely sure. Be as creative as you'd like! Please and thank you so much!

2024.05.13 10:21 Significant-Notice- Organize your life?

Ben Lang didn’t expect to get so much hate just for being organized. For the past three years, he and his wife, Karen-Lynn Amouyal, have been using Notion, a popular software tool, to optimize their household and relationship. His version of the tool, commonly used by businesses to manage complex projects, functions like a souped-up Google Doc, with sections for a grocery list, to-do lists and details of upcoming trips.
More unusual is a section Mr. Lang, a venture capital investor who previously worked at Notion, created about principles (“what’s important to us as a couple”). Another section, called “Learnings,” outlines things the couple have discovered about each other, such as their love languages and Myers-Briggs test results. There’s a list of friends they want to set up on dates. They also maintain a log of memories from their date nights. Mr. Lang, 30, was so proud of the creation that last month, he started promoting a template of the setup to others. “My wife and I use Notion religiously to manage our day-to-day life,” he wrote on X. “I turned this into a template, let me know if you’d like to see it!”

Losing a loved one is a deeply emotional experience, and planning a funeral can be overwhelming. A program funeral template is a vital service element, serving as a guide for attendees and a tribute to the deceased. Crafting a thoughtful program requires attention to detail and a focus on honoring the life and legacy of the departed. Here, we present a template for a meaningful funeral program that can serve as a starting point for your planning process.

1. Cover Design and Title

The cover of the funeral program sets the tone for the service and should reflect the personality and spirit of the deceased. Consider using a favorite photo of the departed, along with their name and dates of birth and death. The title should be simple yet meaningful, such as "In Loving Memory of [Name]."

2. Order of Service

The order of service outlines the flow of the funeral and includes key elements such as prayers, readings, and musical selections. Begin with a welcome message or opening prayer, followed by a brief biography or obituary. Include hymns or songs that were meaningful to the deceased, along with any special tributes or eulogies.

3. Poems and Readings

Incorporating poems and readings can add depth and meaning to the funeral program. Choose readings that resonate with the life and values of the departed, such as favorite poems, religious verses, or personal reflections from family and friends.

4. Photos and Memories

Including photos and memories in the funeral program can create a sense of connection and celebration of life. Consider including a photo collage or a memory page where attendees can write down their favorite memories or messages for the family.

5. Closing Thoughts and Thank You

End the program with a message of gratitude to attendees for their support and presence. You may also include information about any post-funeral gatherings or memorial services.

6. Printing and Distribution

Once you have finalized the content of the funeral program, ensure that it is printed on quality paper and distributed to all attendees. Consider creating additional copies for those who may not be able to attend the service but wish to have a keepsake.

2024.05.13 08:40 greg0525 When Our Camping Trip Became a Nightmare

For as long as I can remember, my family and I have shared a deep love for the great outdoors, particularly the enchanting allure of the forest. The allure of nature's symphony, the gentle rustling of leaves, and the melodious songs of birds never failed to captivate our senses. The verdant foliage, adorned with vibrant flowers, created a kaleidoscope of colors that danced before our eyes, while the towering trees whispered ancient secrets to those who would listen. It was a place where tranquility and serenity embraced us, soothing our souls in the embrace of nature's embrace.
Our excursions into the wilderness were often brief, day trips filled with laughter, exploration, and a shared appreciation for the natural wonders around us. But the recent addition of an RV to our family provided an opportunity to embark on a new adventure—an overnight camping trip nestled within the embrace of majestic mountains and the allure of the forest.
Excitement bubbled within us as we meticulously planned our journey. We imagined gathering around a crackling fire, its warm glow casting dancing shadows upon our faces. The scent of burning wood mingling with the crisp mountain air would create an intoxicating aroma that would forever be etched in our memories.
Finally, the day arrived, and we eagerly set off, our RV becoming our mobile sanctuary. The journey itself was a testament to the beauty of the land we traversed. Majestic peaks rose like sentinels, their snow-capped summits piercing the heavens. As we delved deeper into the heart of nature's domain, our anticipation heightened, and our hearts beat in sync with the rhythm of the forest.
Upon reaching our destination, we carefully parked our RV, a tiny fortress amidst the towering giants. The forest seemed to embrace us, its silence broken only by the distant chirping of birds bidding us welcome. The air carried a crispness that invigorated our spirits, as if it whispered tales of forgotten legends and ancient mysteries.
With each step we took, the forest welcomed us into its secret realm. Our senses were intoxicated by the sweet aroma of pine needles underfoot, mingling with the earthy scent of damp soil. Sunlight, filtered through the canopy above, created dappled patterns on the forest floor, like nature's own mesmerizing tapestry.
As the sun began to set, casting a warm golden glow over the campsite, we gathered around the fire pit. Amelia, our adventurous and nature-loving daughter, was brimming with excitement at the prospect of building a fire.
Amelia's eyes sparkled as she clasped her hands together, her voice filled with anticipation. "Dad, I can't wait to make the fire! Can I help? Please?"
A smile stretched across my face, mirroring the twinkle in her eyes. I nodded, appreciating her eagerness to participate in this age-old ritual of outdoor adventure.
"Absolutely, Amelia," I replied, my voice laced with fatherly pride. "You can gather some dry branches and twigs. Just be careful not to venture too far into the forest."
With an enthusiastic nod, Amelia seized a small, weathered basket and darted towards the beckoning trees and rustling underbrush.
"Watch out for the prickly bushes, sweetheart!" I called out, a touch of caution in my voice. "And remember, stay within sight!"
Her voice, tinged with determination, floated back to me on the gentle breeze. "Don't worry, Dad! I'll find the best branches!"
As Amelia vanished into the verdant embrace of the forest, my wife, Emma, emerged from our trusty RV. Her graceful movements belied her quiet excitement as she retrieved the carefully packed food provisions from within.
Emma's nimble fingers unwrapped the ingredients with a practiced ease, her eyes glimmering with a mix of culinary artistry and familial warmth. She hummed a gentle tune under her breath, her love for nurturing our family evident in every deliberate action.
Meanwhile, I busied myself by unloading the essential cooking equipment from the storage compartments. With the clinking of metal against metal, I extracted the gleaming grill grate and stoked the coals, preparing the stage for a delicious outdoor feast.
After a while, with a skip in her step and a glimmer of triumph in her eyes, Amelia emerged from the lush foliage, clutching a trove of dry branches and twigs within the sturdy basket. Yet, nestled in the crook of her other arm was an unexpected treasure—an enchanting discovery that had captured her young heart.
Amelia's voice bubbled with excitement as she approached, her words tumbling forth. "Dad! Look what I found! It's a small Teddy bear! Isn't it adorable?"
Curiosity sparked within me as I studied the small, weathered toy she presented. Its once vibrant colors had faded, its fur slightly disheveled, but it bore an undeniable charm. A silent narrative unfolded before my eyes, envisioning the laughter and companionship this cherished possession once brought to another child.
A mixture of caution and wonder mingled in my voice as I questioned, "Where did you find it, sweetheart? It seems someone may have lost it."
Amelia's face radiated with innocence and genuine affection for her newfound friend. "I found it near a tree, Daddy. Maybe another family played here, and the Teddy bear got left behind. Can I keep it, please?"
My instinctual protective nature rose, a desire to shield her from the potential disappointments that accompany lost treasures. Yet, a tender understanding blossomed within me. This small act of generosity and acceptance would foster her sense of empathy and compassion.
Considering her wide-eyed enthusiasm, I yielded to the warmth in my heart. "Alright, Amelia," I relented with a gentle smile. "If it brings you joy and reminds you of this beautiful adventure, then you can keep it."
Amelia's jubilant squeal filled the air, punctuating the acceptance of her request. With an affectionate hug, she embraced her newfound companion, promising it a future filled with endless tea parties and imaginary adventures.
Afer I set the fire, with a satisfying crackle, the flames sprang to life, dancing and flickering in a mesmerizing rhythm. The golden tendrils reached towards the night sky, casting a warm glow upon our faces. The radiant heat embraced us, dispelling the chill of the evening air as we gathered around the enchanting inferno.
I meticulously arranged the equipment we had brought, positioning the sturdy metal grill over the roaring fire. The scent of woodsmoke mingled with the tantalizing aroma of seasoned meat, sizzling and sputtering as it made contact with the heated grates. The tantalizing melody of crackling embers serenaded our senses, a symphony of anticipation and contentment.
My wife, her eyes sparkling with both determination and tenderness, deftly prepared the ingredients that would transform into a feast of flavors. The rhythmic symphony of chopping, the aromatic dance of herbs and spices, and the gentle sizzle of ingredients meeting the heated pan created a harmonious tableau of culinary artistry.
Amelia, wide-eyed and filled with wonder, took her place by my side, her small hands outstretched in eager anticipation. I showed her how to position the meat on the grill, carefully instructing her on the art of achieving the perfect sear. Her youthful enthusiasm ignited a sense of pride within me, as I witnessed her embracing the opportunity to contribute to our family's culinary adventure.
“We still need some firewood. I will get some until it gets darker. I will be right back!,” I told Emma and I delved deeper into the wilderness.
The air was thick with the scent of pine and earth, a symphony of nature enveloping me as I wandered amidst towering trees. My fingers brushed against dry leaves and moss-covered rocks, searching for the elusive twigs and branches necessary to further kindle our flames.
But my curiosity led me further ahead, my gaze alighting upon something beyond the ordinary. "What the hell," I murmured, my voice was like a whisper amidst the wilderness.
My my heart was quickening as I glimpsed the outline of a vehicle amidst the foliage. It stood solitary and still, like a relic from another time, its metal frame weathered by the passage of seasons.
I hesitated whether or not to go closer, my instincts prickling with unease.
"Perhaps just another camper," I told myself, though doubt lingered in my mind.
Then I changed my mind the hairs were raising on the back of my neck and walked away from the silent sentinel of metal and glass.
I retraced my steps through the labyrinth of trees, the distant echo of our footsteps mingling with the whispers of the forest. I was immediately relieved as the warmth of our camp awaited me and I was not sure if I should tell Emma that I had seen another RV deeper in the forest. I decided not to, it might ruin the warm athmosphere of our moments.
The crackling fire and the tantalizing aroma of the cooking meat wove an enchanting tapestry around us, casting a spell that encapsulated the essence of togetherness. As the minutes ticked by, we shared stories, laughter, and the warmth of familial love. The darkness around us seemed to fade away, replaced by the glow of our shared experiences and the promise of a memorable night.
In that moment, it was not just the flickering flames that illuminated our campsite, but the intangible bond we shared as a family. We were not merely three individuals gathered around a fire, but a tapestry of love, connection, and shared dreams. The crackling fire served as a beacon, illuminating the path towards a future filled with shared adventures, cherished memories, and an unbreakable bond that would withstand the tests of time.
As we reveled in the joyous harmony of food and company, the night sky glittered above, painting a breathtaking backdrop for our intimate gathering. The stars, like sparkling witnesses, bore witness to the magic that unfolded in that humble campsite.
In the symphony of crackling flames and joyful chatter, we savored the beauty of simplicity, finding solace and fulfillment in the warmth of our shared presence. It was in this tranquil moment, surrounded by the wilderness and enveloped in the embrace of our loved ones, that we realized the true essence of life's blessings—a serene respite from the world's chaos, and the unrivaled joy of being together, just the three of us.
As the sun dipped below the horizon, surrendering the world to the embrace of darkness, a palpable chill crept into the air, sending shivers down our spines. Wisps of mist curled and swirled around us, lending an ethereal quality to the night.
Feeling the temperature drop, I retrieved a thick, cozy blanket from the confines of our trusty RV. Its soft fabric, woven with memories of past adventures, held the promise of warmth and comfort. Gently draping the blanket over Emma and Amelia, I ensured their precious forms were shielded from the encroaching cold.
Amelia, her energy waning with each passing moment, fought against the drowsiness tugging at her eyelids. Her yawns, like tiny symphonies of weariness, punctuated the tranquility of the evening. Sensing her fatigue, I knelt down beside her, my voice filled with gentle concern.
"Sweetheart, it's getting late and you look tired," I whispered, my breath carrying warmth in the crisp night air. "Would you like to go to bed?"
Amelia's eyes, still sparkling with the remnants of excitement, met mine. A yawn escaped her lips, a delicate melody of exhaustion. However, her spirit remained steadfast, determined to revel in every last moment of our outdoor escapade.
"No, Daddy," she replied, her voice a soft murmur. "I'm not sleepy yet. I want to stay here and enjoy the campfire."
Her response resonated with the boundless enthusiasm of youth, and I couldn't help but smile at her unwavering spirit. In that instant, I understood that this was a rare and precious opportunity—a chance to immerse ourselves in the magic of the night, to surrender to the allure of the crackling flames and the mysteries concealed within the darkness.
Then I thought of the camper van that I had just seen and for some reason, it made me feel uneasy. Trying to ignore it, I settled myself beside Amelia, the fire's radiant glow casting enchanting shadows upon our faces. Emma, her hand tenderly clasping mine, joined us, her presence a comforting reassurance amidst the whispering night.
As we sat there, the crackling fire casting an otherworldly glow upon our little circle, a symphony of silence enveloped us. The distant chirping of nocturnal creatures mingled with the soft crackling of the firewood, creating a harmonious lullaby that serenaded us into a state of tranquil contentment.
Stars, like celestial lanterns, punctured the ink-black canvas above, their shimmering brilliance a testament to the vastness of the universe and the infinite possibilities that lay beyond our mortal reach. The fragrant scent of pine mingled with the smoky essence of the campfire, intoxicating our senses and anchoring us to this moment of fleeting serenity.
Time seemed suspended, as if the world had paused to allow us this respite from the frenetic pace of life. We basked in the warmth of the fire, our souls nourished by the shared silence and the bond forged through the simple act of being present with one another.
But amidst the tranquil symphony of nature, a rustling in the nearby underbrush shattered the stillness. The sudden disruption reverberated through the air, jolting us from our serene reverie. Emma's eyes widened, her hand instinctively tightening its grip around mine. Amelia, her youthful curiosity piqued, looked to me for reassurance.
"What was that, Daddy?" Amelia whispered, her voice barely audible above the crackling flames.
I cast a soothing smile in her direction, my attempt to allay any growing fears. "It's probably just an animal, sweetheart," I reassured her, my voice carrying a calm certainty. "Maybe a deer or a boar exploring the woods. Nothing to be worried about."
Yet, as the rustling persisted, growing louder and more distinct, even I couldn't help but feel a flicker of unease gnawing at the edges of my composure. The sound seemed to possess an undeniable weight, suggesting a presence larger and more formidable than initially anticipated.
Emma's eyes darted nervously between the surrounding trees, her senses attuned to the slightest movement. "Are you sure, dear?" she asked, her voice tinged with apprehension. "It sounds quite... substantial."
Instinctively, I rose to my feet, my protective instincts surging within me. "Stay here," I instructed, my voice firm but laden with an undercurrent of caution. "I'll go check it out. It's probably just passing through."
With cautious steps, I ventured toward the origin of the enigmatic rustling, my ears straining to decipher its source. I thought about the camper van. Was it possible that they could see our fire and wanted some company? That sounded ridiculous. Or could they have been in trouble? I should have checked that vehicle out.
Each crackle of twigs underfoot seemed to amplify in the stillness of the night, magnifying my senses. As I neared the treeline, anticipation mingled with a lingering sense of trepidation.
And then, as suddenly as it had begun, the rustling ceased, leaving an eerie silence in its wake. The once vibrant symphony of nature now seemed muted, as if holding its breath in anticipation. I scanned the darkness, searching for any signs of movement, my heart thudding against my chest.
Slowly, I retraced my steps back to the warmth and safety of our campfire haven, my senses on high alert. Returning to my family, I wore a reassuring smile, hoping to convey a sense of calm despite the lingering mystery.
"It's alright," I assured them, my voice infused with a newfound conviction. "Whatever it was, it must have moved along. We're safe here."
Relief washed over their faces, their tense postures gradually easing. We settled back into our makeshift sanctuary, the familiarity of the crackling fire offering a comforting embrace. Our senses remained heightened, vigilant for any lingering signs of the unseen visitor.
Just as a semblance of calm began to settle over our campsite, an otherworldly roar pierced the night air, tearing through the fabric of serenity. The sound, far from the natural symphony we had grown accustomed to, possessed a menacing quality that resonated deep within our souls. Its metallic timbre reverberated through the darkness, sending icy tendrils of fear snaking down our spines.
Amelia's eyes widened in terror, her small frame trembling with the weight of the unknown. Emma's expression mirrored the trepidation etched across our faces. This was no ordinary sound—a realization that hung heavy in the air.
"That... that doesn't sound like a deer or a boar," Emma stammered, her voice quivering with a mix of disbelief and dread. "What could it possibly be?"
Before we could ponder further, the deafening roar reverberated through the night once more, closer this time. Its proximity shattered any illusions of safety that had momentarily settled over us. The air seemed to thicken, charged with an electric sense of urgency. Our instincts kicked into overdrive, urging us to abandon our belongings and seek shelter.
"Leave everything!" I shouted, my voice laced with urgency. "We have to get to the RV now!"
Without a moment's hesitation, we sprang into action. Emma snatched Amelia's hand, her grip tight and resolute, while I scooped up our precious daughter into my arms.
“My bear,” she screamed and picked up her new toy, her tiny hands clung to the worn bear with an intensity that belied her tender age.
The campfire, once a symbol of warmth and tranquility, was abandoned in an instant as we sprinted toward the sanctuary of the RV.
The world around us blurred into a frenzy of motion as our legs carried us with desperate urgency. Fear propelled us forward, fueling our determination to reach safety. With each pounding heartbeat, the roar grew louder, its ominous resonance seemingly at our heels, a predator closing in on its prey.
Finally, we reached the welcoming embrace of the RV, its sturdy frame offering a semblance of refuge from the unknown terror that lurked beyond. I swiftly deposited Amelia onto the seat, her wide eyes reflecting the same mixture of fear and relief that mirrored our own.
As I fumbled with the keys, my hands trembling with a cocktail of adrenaline and anxiety, I spared a glance back at the abandoned campsite. The darkness swallowed our belongings, the remnants of our interrupted evening left behind as a haunting reminder of the inexplicable menace that had disrupted our peaceful retreat.
With a trembling hand, I inserted the key into the ignition, the engine roaring to life in harmony with the echoes of the unknown creature outside. The RV became our fortress, its metal walls shielding us from the terrors that lurked beyond.
As we peeled away from the once idyllic campsite, the wailing roar echoed in the distance. Our hearts raced in unison, our breaths coming in jagged gasps as we sought solace in the sanctuary of the rolling vehicle.
With a trembling hand gripping the steering wheel, I pressed my foot down harder on the gas pedal, urging the RV to accelerate. The vehicle responded with a surge of power, propelling us forward with a newfound urgency. The engine roared in unison with the thundering beat of my heart, creating a symphony of adrenaline-fueled chaos.
As the wheels churned beneath us, the surrounding trees became a blur of green and brown, their branches reaching out like ghostly specters in our wake. The world outside the windows shifted in a dizzying dance, a kaleidoscope of fleeting glimpses and fleeting shadows.
The headlights sliced through the darkness, casting elongated shadows that flickered and danced upon the passing foliage. Each passing plant and tree seemed to contort and twist in the ethereal glow, their distorted forms morphing into grotesque silhouettes of their former selves.
A heavy silence settled within the RV, broken only by the hum of the engine and the rhythmic whoosh of the rushing wind. Our breaths remained caught in our chests, suspended in a shared state of shock and disbelief. The weight of what we had witnessed hung in the air, a chilling reminder that the boundaries of our world were not as fixed as we had once believed.
The scene we had left behind in the forest haunted our thoughts—a glimpse into a realm far removed from our own, something demonic, something that defied explanation. The image of that otherworldly roar and the malevolent presence it implied lingered like a scar etched into our memories, forever imprinted upon our souls.
Minutes stretched into agonizing hours as we raced along the winding road, each passing second feeling like an eternity. Our collective relief remained just out of reach, overshadowed by the lingering unease that clung to us like a specter. The distance between the forest and the main road seemed interminable, every curve and bend in the road prolonging our escape.
Finally, the familiar sight of the main road materialized before us, a beacon of respite in the darkness. As the RV merged onto its paved embrace, a collective sigh of relief cascaded through the cabin. The weight that had burdened our shoulders began to lift, replaced by a renewed sense of safety and security.
Yet, despite the relief that washed over us, the memory of the demonic encounter refused to dissipate as we were heading home. We knew that what we had witnessed in the depths of the forest would forever remain a haunting enigma, a testament to the boundless mysteries that lurk on the fringes of our understanding.
With weary bodies and restless minds, we arrived back at the familiar sanctuary of our home. The weight of the night's harrowing encounter clung to us like a heavy shroud, making the simple act of finding solace in sleep an arduous task. We all slept in the same bed that night. Tossing and turning beneath the covers, we battled against the remnants of fear that lingered within the recesses of our thoughts.
Morning finally broke through the darkness, casting its tentative rays of light upon our weary faces. The sun's gentle warmth filtered through the curtains, offering a glimmer of respite from the lingering shadows of the night. We emerged from our sleep-deprived haze, grateful for the sanctuary that our home provided.
Gathering around the breakfast table, our shared silence spoke volumes. We sought solace in the simple act of breaking bread together, a familiar routine that offered a semblance of normalcy amidst the lingering unease. No words were spoken of the night's horrors; instead, we focused on the mundane tasks of the morning, the clinking of cutlery and the aroma of freshly brewed coffee serving as a comforting backdrop to our collective attempt at healing.
As the day unfolded, we busied ourselves with the routine tasks, finding solace in the familiar rhythms. Dusting shelves, tending to neglected plants, and tidying up the remnants of the night's chaos became acts of therapy, a means of grounding ourselves in the reassuring normalcy of domesticity.
The weight of exhaustion settled upon our shoulders, and we allowed ourselves moments of respite as the day wore on. Sunday, a day of rest, offered a reprieve. We retreated to the cozy corners of our home, seeking solace in the embrace of soft couches and plush pillows.
As the hours slipped away, a quiet calm enveloped our home. The once-turbulent waves of fear and uncertainty settled into a gentle ebb and flow. Laughter and conversation, began to permeate the air, intermingling with the familiar sounds of a household in motion.
As the evening sun began to dip below the horizon, casting a warm glow through the living room window, we settled down in front of the TV, seeking solace in laughter and lightheartedness.
I reached for the remote control, ready to immerse ourselves in the comedic world of a streaming service, when something caught our attention. The TV screen flickered to life, displaying the urgent and captivating headlines of the news. A mixture of curiosity and a tinge of apprehension filled the room, prompting me to pause and leave the news channel playing.
The news anchor's voice echoed through the room, delivering the shocking report of a missing family. My wife leaned forward, her eyes fixed on the TV, her voice trembling with concern. Amelia, her eyes wide with curiosity, leaned closer to the TV, her Teddy bear still clutched tightly in her arms as she was listening to the newsreader.
“This is a breaking news update on a harrowing incident that has shaken the community to its core. The Hudson family, who embarked on a seemingly routine hiking trip into the serene depths of the nearby forest several weeks ago, has tragically met a devastating fate. Today, authorities have confirmed the discovery and identification of their camper van and remains, a discovery that has left investigators, medical examiners, and locals alike in a state of shock and disbelief. The process of identifying the bodies was nothing short of a nightmare for the dedicated team of forensic experts. The unimaginable horror that unfolded in those woods rendered their task exceptionally challenging. Their bodies, torn apart by an unknown and unimaginable force, presented investigators with an enigma that defied explanation. Their positions were grotesquely twisted, their injuries inexplicable and mind-boggling. According to the investigators, an unknown force seriously damaged their RV as well. Medical examiners, renowned for their expertise, were left dumbfounded as they grappled with the mysterious circumstances surrounding this tragic event. The sheer brutality of their demise left them searching for answers that seemed to lie just beyond their reach. The bite marks, enormous in size and ferocity, left on the bodies only added to the perplexity of the situation. Astonishingly, DNA testing revealed that these bite marks belonged to an unidentified creature, sending shockwaves of fear and disbelief through the community. The repercussions of this shocking revelation have reverberated throughout the town, leaving residents on edge and gripped by a pervasive sense of fear and uncertainty. The once serene forest, a place of solace and tranquility, now holds untold horrors that have shattered the peace and shattered the lives of the Hudson family. Authorities advise everyone not to go into the forest until they find out what happened and what killed the family.”
As the newsreader went on we all stopped eating our popocorn.
“In light of these disturbing developments, it is my duty to advise against venturing into the forest at this time. The safety and security that once accompanied our tranquil natural surroundings have been shattered, replaced by an aura of uncertainty and fear. Folks, we cannot ignore the evidence before us, the evidence that points to an unknown and terrifying presence within those woods. I understand the allure of nature's embrace, the desire to explore, to seek solace, and to reconnect with the world around us. However, in this moment, I implore you to prioritize your safety and exercise caution. The risk is simply too great, and the consequences too dire to ignore. I urge you to remain vigilant, to report any suspicious activities or unusual occurrences to the authorities immediately. Your eyes and ears are our greatest assets in keeping our town safe. Together, we can overcome this darkness and restore a sense of security to our beloved community. In the coming days and weeks, we will keep you updated on the progress of our investigations,” the country sheriff said to the reporter.
“We will continue to bring you updates on this developing story as more information becomes available. Our hearts go out to the Hudson family and all those affected by this unimaginable tragedy. Please stay tuned for further updates as we strive to unravel the mysteries that lie hidden within the depths of our world,” the newsreader said and they showed some photos of the Hudson family.
The images on the screen showed their smiling faces, frozen in time. The thought that the camper van I saw in the forest was the crime scene of a brutal and unexplained murder not far from our camp, sent chills down on my spine. This was something I kept to myself. But we all thought about the same thing: the next ones could have been us.

2024.05.13 08:08 greg0525 When Our Camping Trip Became a Nightmare

2024.05.13 02:11 sender899 template to streamline institute productivity

In order to help improve the quality and output of the shitty daystrom institute I thought it would be helpful to provide a template structure for posts taking the form ‘abc is better when you read it in the original xyz’.
I think we should outline the basic template first, then identify and catalog variants that depart from the basic form, and then develop a spambot algorithm to utterly flood the internet with shitty posts and bring civilization to its knees.
There’s probably room for AI in this but I’ll defer to our resident AI experts to opine.

2024.05.13 00:25 -PepeArown- The 5 Dimensional Elemental Plan

So, this idea is a bit of a broad one, but I think it would be a great idea for Mojang to consider when laying out the game's next major updates. I already think Mojang have set up a great foundation with adding a wind variant of the blaze: the breeze, for the Overworld, and how they could build on that for all 5 dimensions. That is, create an elemental mob for all 5 dimensions
And yes, I said 5 dimensions. I know the game only has 3 right now, but this idea will revolve around 2 new ones being added: the Dump and the Abyss, which I'll get more into.
Dimension 1: The Overworld
This'd remain unchanged in the context of this suggestion. We'll have trial chambers and breezes by June, probably, so they'd just need to be integrated into other features.
Now, the trial chambers come with trial spawners and vaults, which I think shouldn't be limited to one structure. Instead, each dimension should have one delegated "trial structure", including a unique pool of trial spawner mobs, and unique vault loot.
Dimension 2: The Nether
Of course, the blaze would be the signature elemental mob here. As for the dimension's "trial structure", why not rework the Nether fortresses, which are in desperate need of an upgrade? It makes sense, considering blazes already spawn here, and it'd make them more consistent with breezes.
Your reward for going to the fortresses would still be blaze rods, Nether wart, and Wither skeleton skulls, but perhaps more unique loot could be added, like a second fortress trim, or a fire banner pattern to match the blaze.
I also think renaming these fortresses "trial fortresses" would make sense. It'd strengthen the implied lore that these fortresses and the chambers were built to test the skills of experienced builders (the ones who built the game's generated structures before the player entered into the world), and sounds a little less generic than just "Nether fortress".
Dimension 3: The End
I have tons of ideas for an End update, but, for the elemental plan, I wanted to share my idea for the bulk: an Earth elemental mob.
Bulks would be rocky in appearance, perhaps made out of obsidian to fit the End's bleak atmosphere. They'd have twice the health of blazes and breezes, and would attack by sending a harmful shockwave your way every time they teleport (since teleportation's already a big thing with End mobs). Perhaps using a pickaxe against them would be more effective than a sword.
These strong elementals would be summoned in during trials in what I'll just dub "trial chateaus", a trial structure in the End I imagine being made primarily out of obisidan blocks (including new ones like bricks, chiseled, polished, etc.) that you'd find at the summit of cliffs in a new biome.
While I'm not sure I can outline every use for these elemental mobs, a major use of bulks would be using the powder from their rods, combined with an echo shard and an Ender pearl (which you'd need to polish into being purple with the help of a trell, a new shulker-like mob that can be found in another new End biome I'll elaborate a bit on in a minute to create an orb of the abyss.
Dimension 4: The Abyss
To get to this dimension, you'd need orbs of the Abyss, and a heavy core to activate the reinfroced deepslate frame of the large warden statue in anicent cities to make a portal.
The Abyss would act as the game's deep sea dimension, because I feel like the Overworld, even with its height increase, couldn't do a proper Minecraft deep sea justice. This dimension would be quite a bit tougher from the main 3, as it'd be entirely submerged in a new liquid: deep water. It acts a bit differently from regular water: such as that:
-It kills mobs that normally survive in regular water, such as fish or sea turtles. Guardians, drowns, and axolotls, however, are intentionally unaffected.
-It's quite a bit darker, and will obscure your vision and FOV quite a bit.
-You'll drown in it even faster without water breathing or conduit power.
-You can swim in it a quaryer faster than regular water to balance out the fact that it covers the whole of the Abyss.
-Sculk sensors will make a sound when submerged in it, but will not detect vibrations from you swimming: only you touching ground nearby. (Or, causing vibrations from things like throwing a trident.)
A unique gimmick with the Abyss is that half the biomes are normal, and half of them are infested with sculk. So, all "normal" biomes have a sculk variant where mobs won't spawn, but you still have to be careful not to set off shriekers, or the scolm, an echolating salamander mob, will appear from the ground, and use its skills to kill you if you make too many missteps. Esentially, a warden, but it can swim, and, well, it looks like an elongated axolotl.
As for how elementals play into this, the trial structure for this dimension would be home to the brine: a water elemental that attacks you by shooting bubbles. If you get hit by these bubbles, you'll become trapped in them, and will be unable to move until they pop. Yes, you'd also be able to create bubble charges so that you can trap mobs in bubbles.
Brines can put out fires, but they'd dehydrate and die after being out of deep water for 2 minutes or so. They'll die immediately if you somehow bring them to the Nether.
Dimension 5: The Dump
Esentially, a realm between the End and Overworld. And, as its name implies, all it's used for is a dumping ground for Endermen to place down all the blocks they collect.
You'd get here from a portal in The End: perhap the same shape and size as the stronghold portal. I'd imagine you'd need some eye of Ender equivalent that uses wind charges and flowers, to simulate that you're going into what would be considered a rather unkempt and unruly dimension which you're "fighting" off with good smells and breezes.
Not much would be going on in this dimension besides an unruly mess of blocks. Endermen would spawn here patrolling the dimension under its weird sky box that would look like TV static, but it'd also be infested with Endermites who love nesting off the Endermen's disorganization.
This is meant to be a "between dimension", so not as adventurous or fleshed out as the other 4. However, there is one unigue generated structure that'll spawn here: compactors, whch will come with at least one spawner that will spawn the buzz: the 5th and last elemental.
Buzzes would act like redstone/electricity elementals. Red in color, buzzes would be weaker than blazes and breezes in health, but have a strong electrical beam attack that takes a moment to charge. Kind of like the warden's sonic boom, but weaker and more fair.
And, no, no trial structures would generate here, as this is meant to be a more incomplete, dilapidated "between realm" ravaged by the Endermen's carelessness on purpose.
Applications for Brewing
Blazes are used to craft brewing stands, and their powder is needed to fuel them. Breeze rods can be used to brew wind charge potions already, but I think all 5 elementals could be incorporated into brewing.
I don't have the whole brewing system rework envisioned, but one thing I'd love to see is to have different powders or charges brew different types of potions.
Blaze powder is already used to brew water potions.
With the End update, I think a new liquid called hydrender (could maybe use a better name): a purple liquid that resembles water, but is perhaps more acidic, should be added. You could use this for new potions, but you'd need to fuel a brewing stand with wind charges instead of blaze powder. Hydrender would spawn in only one End biome, which is also where the trells that polish Ender pearls I mentioned earlier would be found.
Deep water could be used to brew new potions, too, but you'd need bulk powder instead. I feel like the bulk's shockwave ability fits in pretty well with the Abyss' sculk motif, so I think this pairing makes sense.
TLDR
The Overworld: Breezes (Wind Elementals)
The Nether: Blazes (Fire Elementals)
The End: Bulks (Earth/Rock Elementals)
The Abyss (Deep Sea and Sculk Dimension): Brines (Water Elementals)
The Dump (Enderman Block Dropoff dimension between the Overworld and End): Buzzes (Redstone Elementals)
I have more ideas for my elemental plan, including a new boss, but I think that's best reserved for other posts.
