I am having difficulty using the HC-SR04 ultrasonic sensor. This is the datasheet I have been referring to: https://cdn.sparkfun.com/datasheets/Sensors/Proximity/HCSR04.pdf
As directed by the data sheet, I have been sending 10uS pulses to the trigger pin in order to get a response on the echo pin that can be used to determine the distance between an object and the sensor.
Additionally, according to the datasheet as well as the below Arduino code from Git, in order to determine the number of centimeters between an object and the sensor, you take the duration of the pulse on the echo pin and divide by 58: https://github.com/JRodrigoTech/Ultrasonic-HC-SR04/blob/masteUltrasonic/Ultrasonic.cpp
Now, here is the issue I am having. I do not know how to convert the values in TMRx to real time values (seconds). My method is using the input capture peripheral and configuring it to use Timer 3, and I record values whenever there is a change on the echo pin.
As the code shows, the formula I use to get the real time is time = (finalTime - currTime)*(Prescalar)/(frequency) where PRvalue = 65535, frequency = 16MHz, and Prescalar = 256. However, the real time value I always end up with is 0. From the screenshot in the imgur image, it seems like the result is always 0 because currTime and finalTime are always close to each other, and I cannot represent very small numbers because of the limited number of bits used to represent values.
What is the issue here? As the Imgur link shows, my sensor is sending back signals after I set a 10uS pulse on trigger, and when putting a breakpoint in my input capture ISR, the program correctly stops inside of it. That means this isnt a hardware issue but instead an issue with how I am calculating time.

Open to hearing from anyone else in the automotive industry as well. Or any other blue collar trade, for that matter.
I spent a few years in automotive shops as a tech, before I went full time into software development. I dealt with several different DMS systems and related softwares. The ones I dealt with were either clunky, slow, or just not user friendly. They worked, and they did their job, but that was about it. I spent a lot of time brainstorming about what I could do differently if i were to build one of these systems.
I know there's several big players in the space when it comes to independent shop systems, like Mitchell1 and AllData, and I know they do their jobs pretty well. But I'm also fully aware these options don't work for everyone. I have a buddy who runs a small shop that I've talked to about this. I've read the complaints of others as well.
I want to hear the perspective of some other shop owners and other people in the auto industry. Do you like the software options you have? What do they do well, and what do you wish they could do differently? Is there a market out there for custom shop management system development, or custom integrations? Or even another SaaS option?
Also, what kind of caveats do I run into if I do build one of these systems? I know a full scale DMS system would require a larger team than I have, a lot of time, and manufacturer approvals, but a full DMS isn't really on my radar right now.

Explanation:
Set a script parameter eid, whose value is 9,7,5,3.
A1 Connect to the database named demo.
A2 Return query result as a table sequence and auto-close database connection when the query is finished. Sort the table sequence fist by EID then by the comma-separated sequence of numbers defined through parameter eid. Put the non-matching members at the end during the second sort.

How would you compare both ? I am under the impression that quality control and build quality is better for the passport, but I have no real data to support my impression. Own a Forester wilderness 2024 here, and I am quite disappointed of the build quality :

• tint in side window (factory) is like "grout" in upper window.
• strange "banging" noise coming from the dash : dealer cannot find the problem and will have to disassemble the dash...
• auto-dimming rear mirror does not dim a lot (will have this checked by the dealer)

I must say that fuel consumption is quite good for my taste : 8.5 l/100 combined.

I've always been a lover of art. Unlike most, however, I wanted to be a part of that world and not just merely an observer. This seemed counter-intuitive to who I thought I was as an INTJ. You all know the stereotype: cold and calculating. Logic over emotion. Spock. But much like Spock himself, we INTJs actually feel emotion even more strongly than other people - we just tend to hide it. Another thing: a sense of identity. We INTJs have a very strong sense of individualism. If everybody else zigs, we zag. We tend to choose the path of greatest resistance, despite it being somehow illogical, simply because no one else will do so.
This manifested in me through art. I had no innate talent for drawing nor for music. During the Pandemic, I took up photography which turned out to be a good blend of the artistic mindset and calculating logic. Although I was good at the craft, I eventually moved away from it. There are various reasons for which I don't want to get to here. I'm not just blowing myself up when I say I was good at it. I received a lot of praise for my photo work. Yet at the same time I found that it was undervalued. I suppose it sort of stems from the INTJ tendency to fixate on abstract ideas, that search for the core truth, which when manifested in my work nobody understood.
Later on, I dabbled a bit in design. I thought I could get out of the 9-5 workplace and yet do something I enjoyed at the same time. I'm aware that there are many freelancer designers out there who get to work from home. For whatever reason though, the opportunities that presented themselves at the time were from a studio or office. I got an interview, and then, after a shaky interview due to my lack of actual work experience in the field, somehow secured a job. I didn't show up. On that final interview, I had a slight "tour" of the office and they also gave me a test to see how I'd perform. It was there I discovered it was just going to be another run-of-the-mill job. In hindsight, I should have expected this. Whatever the case may be, I realized I didn't quit my last job just to get another office job where the only difference is the kind of pencil I pushed.
So finally, I ended up where I am now. I'm a cartoonist and caricaturist. The kind you see on New Yorker and Mad Magazine. As I mentioned before, I was bad at drawing. But some kind of mad spirit had possessed me and, in less than a year, I learned how to draw portraits and other things. There's still much for me to learn and I haven't reached any tangible kind of success yet. But I finally reached a place where I think I belong. The kind of work that I can and WANT to do until I die.
I've always been somewhat successful in past endeavors. I was as the top of my game in my last "real" job. In short, there has always been some kind of reward for my efforts that was, relatively, easy enough to aim for and achieve. This is different. My endeavors this past year have been the hardest in my entire life. Simply because this is such an unknown path. There's not much obvious and current data for me to go by and formulate a strategy. There is no clear reward at the end. And then there's things like AI. It's frightening. It's No-Man's land. Of course, I'm not going into this with my eyes closed. I still have my logic and one needs to put bread on the table. Of course, there are things in place for that. But still. There's the guilt for doing something that, statistically speaking, has a very low chance of success. Guilt to my family, guilt to myself. But never me the odds. Actually, tell me - but I'll ignore it anyway. So, in almost all aspects, my current endeavor goes against who I am as an INTJ except for one: my sense of individualism.
So that's my story thus far. If you're an INTJ and an artist in any sense of the word, I'd love to hear yours.
PS. Read my story with a grain of salt. I'm not trying to push a lesson. I'm also fully aware that some of the mindsets and perceptions I've had or currently have may not be entirely true. Again, it's just a story.

hola buenas tardes o noches a todos, queria saber si podrian ayudarme porque un problema, tengo un proyecto en java web con netbeans, y estoy queriendo ver para pasarme a Visual Studio Code, encontre algunos tutorial donde podrias ejecutar el proyecto con TomCat For Java extension, pero la estension ya esta en desuso, y no se si habra alguna version de VS en la que se pueda usar o algo, en VS su lugar me recomienda usar "Use la extensión [Community Server Connectors](vscode-file://vscode-app/c:/Users/Admin/AppData/Local/Programs/Microsoft%20VS%20Code/resources/app/out/vs/code/electron-sandbox/workbench/workbench.html) en su lugar" pero me ejecuta el servidor pero no me levanta el proyecto me sale "Estado HTTP 404 – No encontrado" y no se a que se debe, ya intente buscar algunas soluciones pero nada que me funcione, no se si ustedes podrian ayudarme porfavor, alguna recomendacion y/o consejo/sugerencia que podrian darme se los agradeceria mucho (Apache tomcat/10.0.27 es la version que utilizo del servidor)

i am creating a dlt materialized view. it is made up of a select from a few joined tables and it is ~500,000,000 rows. since it is so large, i do not want to run a refresh every day, i would rather incrementally append new data. i saw this question here but did not understand what is stopping the table from just being created again every time this runs, regardless of the append_flow being there. i have tried many things and learned i cannot reference outside tables as targets and i cannot overwrite views in the same dlt environment (which makes no sense to me because then what is the point of append_flow?), so i feel like i am missing some fundamentals here. how do i just create a materialized view and append new data to it without rebuilding the table every time?
i tried:

1. creating view in one dlt pipeline then trying to select * as source and append in a different dlt script. did not work.
2. keeping it all in one script using a if exists else etc and could not find a way around it just recreating the table everytime.

Timeline of events:

• Windows 11
• used to have Norton AV, thus many Windows Defender core functions disabled
• my PC is connected only via wifi, no ethernet
• PC and router are not on the same eletrical outlet
• a month back I tested pi-hole on my raspberry pi 4, however, since my router doesn't allow me to specific dns settings, I had it running as a dhcp as well & had dhcp deactivated in my router's settings
• a few weeks back, I had downloaded two different versions of FL Studio + FLEX, the latter one's uploader specifically clarifying it will only work on Windows, which I found suspicious in retrospect... the first one I actually installed and the latter I never unzipped
• originally I wanted to download and run it in a VM (I know that's not 100% safe either) but I was too impatient... also apparently VMware could have caused my PC to act as a DHCP server & maybe that's what the actual issue was?
• around the same week, I was also browsing SimpCity (pron forum), however, with (UBlock yet) no VPN. I had quite many tabs still open and left my pc in sleep mode, prior I also had downloaded a bunch (until a week later they announced malware via .zip was being propagated on a specific host site and, though I don't remember downloading any zips, I also can't rule out I didn't)
• the day right after the FL Studio download and with still many pron tabs open, I woke up my pc from sleep mode iirc and that is when I started being unable to connect to my wifi
• HOWEVER almost all other devices connected to it via wifi work, except for some reason my phone, which is also the phone I was running a hotspot on, so I could continue using my PC
• I ran Malware Bytes & Hitman Pro and also uninstalled Norton so I could turn on all Windows Defender safety measures, and the only result out of the 3 scans I got was the second FL Studio's zip (the one I didn't install) showing up as a Win32Crack, when I ran the extended Defender scan (I think I proceeded to quarantine it)
• I disabled pi-hole, reset dhcp on my router, and when that didn't work, also factory resetted my router entirely
• next, I uninstalled my grub dual boot & since all that didn't help, I backed up most my data to an external ssd and then ran a clean all via diskpart on all my SSDs & did a fresh Windows 10 install
• wifi works again, hooray
• moved my data from my external ssd back to my PC and ran all 3 scans again with no results, hooray
• upgraded to Windows 11 again & have been using my pc normally for little over a week now... until I did what I did back then with that pron forum
• PC hadn't been shut down for 2 days since quite a few tabs were still open in incognito, but when I woke it up today from sleep mode, the wifi is not working again
• HOWEVER, this time I can actually connect to the wifi, just no internet & whenever I do that my router starts blinking red and it shuts down the internet for the entire household
• This time, I am again using my phone's hotspot, however, I am not connected to my wifi on it this time, so I can basically use it as a middle man (which worked back then), since that leads to the red-blinking-router-failure as well
• I had 192.168.1.9 still reserved for my raspberry pi (which is not connected to my router anymore) in my router's settings, which I todad removed and then reset my router as well
• just booted my PC on an Ubuntu LiveUSB and I could connect to my wifi and no router failure
• as I was booting back into Windows I wrote this post & for some reason this time I am able to connect to my wifi again without my router acting up?? What the fuck may have transpired here? Am I paranoid for thinking it could have been a virus broadcasting to the subnet?
• to be on the safe side I also just flush/registered my DNS, release/renewed my IP (I'm shown to have 192.168.1.9 as my ip address now... maybe that was the issue, but why did it start today and not 10 days ago then) & resetted winsock

This is still an open issue since I am still unsure as to why my PC triggered my router's failure, network noob here sorry
