I’m a new player and have made it through most of Smithville. I’m getting ready to move onto the next area, which from what I’ve seen on MapRunner, don’t have garages. This means that my truck selection going into the areas will be important if I don’t want to be travelling back and forth.
Here’s where I seem to struggle in the gameplay. I have trucks as part of the DLC like the Caterpillar CT681 and the Internal HX 520. I’ve used them here and there but I find I struggle with them compared to my Fleetstar or the White Western 4964. My biais is towards the fact that the Fleetstar and Western are AWD, even though the Caterpillar and the HX are S+ on the Power-to-weight. I even chose to go with the Western and Fleetstar to haul 2 Long Logs, even though they struggle to pull through certain terrain. Why this biais? I seem to have faith more in the AWD than the Power-to-Weight.
Is this an appropriate impression to have? Should I focus more on the Power-to-Weight over the ability to engage AWD? When you’re unsure which truck to use, how do you go about choosing a certain truck, especially in the early game?
I should note: yes, I do upgrade the trucks, regardless of which I use and make sure to equip appropriate off-road tires.

OMG, there was so much detritus on the Turnpike Cars, Trucks, and Buses southbound lanes today. In trying to avoid some shredded truck tire I accidentally drove over some plastic body panel that ended up giving me a flat tire. Given the how close I was to the rush hour roadway I didn't feel comfortable changing the tire myself. So I called my insurance company for roadside assistance. After a long time sitting on the shoulder the private tow truck they contacted called me to say that they weren't allowed to service motorists and that I should call the state police who'd send someone. And that's what happened (thankfully they came within 30 minutes).
But the lock in the shins is that while I have roadside assistance through my insurance company the Turnpike contractor charged me $85 to come and change my tire. The mechanic have me a receipt and told me that my insurance company should reimburse me. Is this right? Has anyone been reimbursed by their insurance company for charges invited by the Turnpike's roadside assistance vendor?

throwaway account because she’s crazy I (26F) and my fiancé (27M) are getting married in under a month. To say our wedding planning has been less than ideal is quite the understatement. My soon to be MIL, let’s call her Barbra, has made the last year of my life a living hell. My fiancé, Derek, and I have been together for 3 years, engaged for just over one year. When Derek and I first started dating I had an incredible relationship with Barbra. We would hang out, run errands, have sleepovers.. we had a relationship most girls dream of having with their future MIL. That all changed when this pretty little ring slipped on my finger…
For some context, Barbra has an extremely volatile relationship with her ex husband (Derek’s dad) and his wife (Derek’s step mom). Their history stems back 20+ years and has been an ever present issue in Derek’s every day life. Barbra made it her mission for Derek to despise his father and step mother the way she did, totally unnecessary behavior.
Fast forward to this past year. Take a narcissistic future MIL and a people pleasing bride, then add a wedding and this is where you end up.
Around 8 months ago, my fiancé and I decided we wanted to have a backyard rehearsal dinner with food trucks, a bonfire, games- totally our style. We figured we didn’t need to big fancy dinners back to back. Derek’s dad’s house is a no-brainer perfect spot for something like this. Far back off of any road, tons of land, a pool. Not to mention; it’s his DAD’s house. Well when I brought this idea up to Barbra (we were 2.5 hours out of town for the weekend just me and her) she LOST. HER. SHIT. Screaming, crying, stomping her feet… It was like trying to communicate with a toddler who missed their nap. All because it was going to be at Derek’s dad’s house. Basically “everyone is going to think -stepmom- is the mother of the groom instead of me!” on and on, screaming history over 20 years old at me as a justification. I was extremely uncomfortable to say the least, considering I’d never seen this behavior from her. I cried myself to sleep every night that weekend, I felt pathetic and defeated. It went on like that all weekend little digs here and there. by the time I finally got home I broke down crying over how I was spoken to and treated. I mean the woman screamed in my face, as if I was her six-year-old child.
Between then and this past weekend, there has been little digs, constant attitude, and random spiteful acts that let met know she never let go of that weekend because I came home and told Derek, who in turn flipped out on her.
this past weekend was my bridal shower. I grew up about six hours away from where I currently live, which is Derek‘s hometown. Everyone including Barbara and Derek stepmom traveled to be at the shower. I knew it wouldn’t be good when I invited. Barbara and her response was “well I guess if stepmother is going I have to go don’t I?”
Not not only did she begin moving place settings away from stepmother’s table to the point where stepmother was left alone at a table, she told my maid of honor that the only reason my MOH felt the need to sit at my table was “to be the center of attention.” Completely disregarding that I specifically asked to sit with her and the rest of my bridesmaids, considering I don’t live near any of them anymore, and we never get to see each other. Then she tried to kick my aunt and cousin out of her table because it was “the mom table “, only stopped when my mom told her she was staying. She rolled her eyes at my gifts I opened from derek’s step mom. She was also dissing derek’s step mom to every person she spoke to, to the point where 10+ people came to me after the shower telling me how uncomfortable she made them. Derek’s step mom is the sweetest woman ever and she left the shower crying.
There were several other behaviors, but this post would be far too long (it already is). When Derek got home and called her out, she absolutely lost it. Now she is blowing up our phones, saying she is ashamed of Derek and I, and told Derek to “have fun with his new family.” So many nasty remarks a mother should never say to their son. She did her usual playing the victim, “how dare we”, and blaming her behavior on every other person. Zero accountability.
at this point, she has ruined every single event relating to my wedding that I’ve had. She hosted my bachelorette (ruined it by being mean to all of my friends, throwing a gift derek’s step mom made for her across the room in front of everyone while cursing about how stupid and ugly it was) , she came with me to pick up my wedding dress (insisted on getting the one she loved that i hated, told me she didn’t care for the one i got), and she shits all over any idea I present to her. Every time I call my parents. I’m crying over something new that she said to intentionally hurt me or disrupt our planning.
Would I be the asshole if I didn’t allow her to get ready on the bridal suite on the day of? I’m honestly scared for how she act in there now that she thinks “everyone is against her. “ I would prefer for her to not even come to the wedding at all but I’ll let Derek make that call.
Edit: I want to say that Derek has defended me in a way that has made me fall even more in love with him. He’s been stern and harsh, telling her exactly how it is without faltering. The issue is this goes right over her head. I’m feeling like this will only stop if it comes from me.

I'm sure I will get a lot of hare for posting against Toyota on this thread, but I need outside opinion because I just don't understand. Why are people still buying the 5th generation 4Runner brand new? This platform is literally 14 years old and has almost no changes in that time. They get terrible fuel mileage- a friend has one (a 2022) and averages 15 mpg (no exaggeration). My crew cab 4x4 nonturboed V6 F150 gets 21 mpg on average. It only towes 5,000 pounds, and most crossovers tow as much or more including the explorer, traverse, grand cherokee, pilot, and highlander. The rear seat is pretty tight for the size (good luck fitting a rear facing carseat behind even an average height male driver or passenger). The safety sucks, it literally didn't pass a crash test from IHS in 2014 (with no changes since). It performed even worse in NHTSA crash tests. If it has the 3rd row in it, it is literally abysmal and useless. The rear cargo space, with no third row, in my friend's is very comparable to the Rav4 I had. The driving experience kinda sucks due to the ancient v6 and 5 speed auto. I know it has some off road chops, but doesn't compete with a stock Jeep Wrangler or full sized Bronco. Also, everyone I know that has a 5th generation has never actually taken it off road. Infotainment is extremely outdated. Lastly, and most importantly, it is incredibly overpriced. The cheapest 4x4 one within 3 hours of me, and we are within 2 hours of DC, is 45000 . I don't get it at all. You can buy a nicely appointed full sized truck, nice appointment minivan, or literally any other midsized suv. A similar equipped tacoma can be had almost 10,00 cheaper near me, and some base tundra can be found for under this price. I can even find a brand new base model 4x4 Nissan Armada for 2000 more, and it does virtually everything listed better while being somewhat luxurious. My friend bought his during covid (a 4x4 sr5) for almost 48,000. Are people literally fanatical about these things only because of the idea of off roadyness and "reliability." Especially when it seems like most never leave the road (newer ones specifically) when something like (just using other toyotas, but there are many other models where this could be said) a highlander, Tacoma, or Tundra could beat it in almost every other metric?

Hey all, Currently have a Huawei p30 pro (since 2019) and have absolutely loved this phone up until a couple months ago. It no longer connects wirelessly to my trucks android auto, sometimes missed calls don't show up anymore, battery only lasts a day and a bit. I just started my own business in the Carpentry industry and I'm now relying on my phone to run things successfully.
What I need: -long lasting battery, I mostly don't have access to charging my phone as I'm in and out of my truck or working -rugged, have dropped this phone way too many times and haven't had issues so I'd like that again -good call quality is a must -good to better camera (don't need the best of the best) is also a must -being Italian/Canadian I'm frugal so I'd like to keep it cheap although I know that's a hope and a prayer -at the moment I believe that's it.

Looking for recommendations for vehicle insurance. I bought a used truck last year to tow our trailer with, and I wasn't able to bundle it with my home and secondary vehicle insurance through Johnson (now Belair) due to it being modified (previous owner lifted it and it has larger wheels). I insured it through Intact and they're charging $1,900 a year. I have a clean driving record with no tickets since 2017.
Is anyone else paying this much? Any recommendations to check around for a cheaper quote??

(My brother 18m graduated over the weekend. He also turned 18 1.5 weeks ago.) So, I 16m have autism. It was diagnosed 5 months ago, but we suspected it for a couple years. I have a hard time being social, and sometimes I have a breakdown if I am overwhelmed by it. I've learned to mask it over the years, but sometimes it's impossible to control. My brother turned 18 on May 2nd, and I wanted to get him a gift. So I sold all my expensive Pokemon cards(worth over a hundred dollars) at vintage stock for ten dollars. I've had them for my entire life, and cherish them to my core. They held a lot of memories of my past, and it was hard to give them up. But I pushed through it, wanting to make his 18th birthday special. Fast forward a week, and he's graduating. It's his graduation weekend, and I'm determined to make it special as well. I've been practicing his graduation music in band, even though I don't play anymore because of my social anxiety. Playing a trumpet kinda feels like yelling in a room where everyone else is only talking. On Saturday, we hold his graduation party. I'm woke up by my mom, and I spend the entire morning cleaning the house while being yelled at by my panicking mom. I then spend 3 hours decorating for him, all while he wanders around dwadlleing. People start showing up, and I retreat to my parents room where I proceed to babysit my dogs. The few times I did leave, they didn't stop barking until I came back. After a couple hours of sitting there, I get bored. I asked my brother if he is going to be on his vr headset. He tells me no, but says I can't play on it anyways, as he wants me to socialize. I tell him I'm going to play on my Xbox, only to be told not to. I'm kind of surprised, as it's my Xbox. There's no reason why I shouldn't be able to play. He then says I can either sit with the dogs or socialize. I'm taken a back, as he doesn't usually have the right to order me around. I shrug it off, and go back to sit with the dogs. I don't want to ruin his graduation party. I sit there for the rest of the party, only coming out to say goodbye to everyone. The next day, I'm woken up by mom again. This time though, I can tell is going to be a bad social day. But I play along, getting dressed so I can play for the graduation ceremony. Once I get to school, I try to avoid all contact with people. I mostly make it to the gymnasium, where the ceremony is being held, without losing my shit. That's when I see the seating arrangements. The entire band is shoved in a corner. Luckily though, some people didn't show up. This left a big gap, letting me sit two seats away from the people on my right, and four seats away from the people on my left. Then the principal decides he doesn't like how we look, and squishes us further into the corner and putting everyone shoulder to shoulder. I'm borderline breaking down now, but I get through the agonizing hour without breaking down completely. Eventually, we're let out. I walk over to my parents car, where my brother is standing with them. I ask if I can go home with him, because they're going shopping. Remember, I mask very well. They tell me that I'm coming shopping with them, and that my brother wants the house to himself. I tell them that I can't take going shopping right now, and I need to go home. They ignore my pleas, insisting that I'll come with them. Then they try a different tactic, saying the choice is up to my brother. He recognizes it's not fair for me, and says I can go home with him. They then try to pull every card in the book. "You used to be mean to him when you guys were home alone!" I haven't done that in over a month. The only reason I did it was because I was frustrated that my brother just got to order me around. I told them that I haven't done that in a month, but they go onto the next excuse. "It's his graduation day, it should be special" at this point, my mask is falling apart. I start raising my voice trying to convince them that I can't go with them. They then try bribing me with the offer to go to Petco so I could look at the animals, but my breakdown couldn't be fixed with that. Eventually I get in the truck, throwing my trumpet in and slamming the door behind me. Then dad, who is stubborn and petty, turns on the music at a very high volume. When we had first set out, mom told him to turn it off because it was too loud. Now she sat in silence, content with making my ride hell. I then curl up in the backseat, with my fingers in my ears. Eventually, they get out to go shopping. I stay in the car without argument, because we all know it would get worse if I was forced to go with them.When they come back, dad turns the radio on full blast again, and I go into a full meltdown. I start screaming at them to shut it off, and mom decides it's time to shut it off now. But dad, wanting to instigate me, decides to turn it back on at a slightly lower volume. Even mom recognizes this as instigating but before she can do anything about it, I open the car door. Keep In mind, we're still moving at about 30mph. I'm fully prepared to launch myself out of the car, and the only reason I don't is because I have to unbuckle my seatbelt. In that timeframe of me unbuckling myself, mom yells at me to shut the door. That snaps me out of my tantrum enough for me to shut the door. Mom then yells at dad to take her home. I yell at him to take me to the mental hospital. Both of them refuse because of how much money it takes. Once we get home, I get on my phone and calm down. Then I get on my Xbox and start playing powerwash simulator to calm me down even more. After I'm calm enough, I start playing multiplayer games. Today, mom wanted to take away all my electronics for the way I acted, saying that I was super selfish. I eventually argued my way into getting my phone back, leading to me making this. Her reasoning behind me being selfish is that I "made my brother feel guilty". She also brought up the fact that Sunday was mother's day, and that I shouldn't have acted that way because it was her day as well. Are my parents right, or should I take this situation to medical professionals?

It was around 2016. And its a type of game where you're gonna build your own city. I remember that this game has a simple cartoonized graphics and very easy for a child (9) me to understand. This game has a flat landscape and have unique buildings, im not sure but i remember this one building where it has a big lip 👄 on top of it, and i think this building produces lipsticks. You can also build houses where garbage trucks comes and collects trash. And to expand your city you have to some sort of fix the brown and cracked land and broken roads and after that you can now place houses and buildings. Does the gross weight of the camper assume fully loaded tanks and with people inside? If it won’t have people inside and empty tanks while towing, can I assume this to be closer to 16000 lbs, in which case I’ll be within the 26000 lbs GCWR?

Hi everyone! I got in car accident few weeks ago. The other driver got DUI, he got arrested. The car has insurance but the car was under his dad. Now my lawyer told me we need to know if he has a permission to use the truck!! My car was leased, few months away to close the leasing contract and I was paying more than 15k to that day. Now I don’t have a car, the car was total loss. My insurance payed the lean holder, but I got screwed. Just hoping the driver has permission for the truck he was driving. The guy looked an adult around his 30ties. To me it seems a scam game between insurances. But, even if the car has insurance now we have to see if he has permission to drive the car!! Why I have to be screwed if we both cars have insurance? Why I am paying insurance? Any related story would be helpful!

Hi! I’m looking for a venue in New England that essentially just provides a place to host. My fiancé and I would love to do food trucks as our meal & set up yard games, etc. but want a big enough place for all of our guest (175ish guests). Well we all have issues with the wasteland, ghouls breaking in and eating your food, gangs of raiders chasing you with spears, or random scavengers boarding up your door in an instant. Today I bring some new content and some solutions for a few of these issues.

Enclosed:

This is a new gimmick for base building, when surrounding your entire base, creatures and players may not spawn in it or 2 spaces around it, same rule applies to anyone else trying to build around your base that isn't you or your team mates, this only works if you completely surround your base, corners must be secured as well. Plants and rocks can still spawn in it so floors are advised if you don't want it to be cluttered up or if one of your walls break, ruining the anti spawn/anti place effect. Special ruling applies when players from different teams build, if a player helps you close in your 'house', you both can build without restriction, this can be good for team mates when their team leader dies to not cause issues, down fall is that raiders can cause more issues.

SchizOCD has been a theme of mine for almost a decade now. In the past few years thankfully, my OCD has be very mild. Today I was super busy at work and I was on the phone with our car company to get a tow because one of our trucks died (rip) and while I was on the phone I swore I heard someone say my name but I was alone. Whatever I wasn't bothered. But then once I went back inside I once again, thought I heard someone say my name while I was filling my boss in on the truck situation. To be fair our headquarters was PACKED with new employees at the time there for orientation, some of which knew me and very likely could have said my name but now I'm 100% spiraling and freaking out. I know one of the first signs of schizophrenia is commonly the auditory hallucination that you hear someone calling your name.
So now I'm freaking exhausted from work, worried about everything else going on in my life AND ruminating on schizophrenia. :( ocd is so evil

So I logged out of F76 just now, and I will never log back in. It's over for me. The whole issue is 100% avoidable, though. I want to tell Bethesda why they lost me, and obviously this will give away some ways to keep other players.
First, the minor issues, which I'd solve with a mod in Fallout 4, but which are obnoxiously ever-present in the un-moddable F76:

• NPCs and their never-ending quips. Going to Blue Ridge and hearing Johnny Bills (?) say over and over and over and over again that it's "better exercise than trucking," just OH MY GOD SHUT UP. The amount of repetitive one-liners you have every NPC doing is insane.
• The game looks like what happens when you ask the nice foster family in Shazam to make a Fallout game. The land is bright and lush, to the point it doesn't look apocalypse-touched much at all, unless you look at roads that are falling apart, or buildings with a crumbled section. But more than that, it's... so wholesome, with Responders sincerely obsessed with helping everyone but yet literally zero depiction of anyone actually injured or needing help. The hospital beds at the golf course? Empty. The "whole lot of work" they do? They're all lounging, leaning against walls. There is no crisis center. For that matter, IS there a crisis? I keep hearing that there is, but these areas seem wholly devoid of people in pain or suffering radiation sickness.
• The unrelenting nothing. Here is what I mean. I went to talk to a Responder leader, whose name I can't be bothered to remember, and she had 3 other leaders that she could talk about. OK! Here comes the mystery or questing or something, right? She's gonna tell me that something is up with one of these leaders, or there is some problem I can solve. So I ask about the first person. She praises him/her. I ask about the 2nd. Same, just gushing about how nice everyone is. So I ask about the 3rd. And that person is lovely and admirable too, and there are no problems, and THERE IS NOTHING FOR ME TO DO. Over and over again, we get dialogue wasted on nothingness. There was no reason to read or get invested, because the text is just, "everything fine, nothing to see here." WHY?

But all of that was survivable. I've been building for a couple of weeks now, finishing quests (mostly not the Responders, but you know, other quests). Except... 3 days ago, I joined a game and the game couldn't place my camp. Someone else was in my spot. OK, no problem, you gave me a free "relocate your camp" so I will. But... all it brought over was my house and water pump. The gardens? Gone.
Not terrible, I'll rebuild. Over the last 3 days, I rebuilt a lot. My place is not good, I'm still low-level, but I had all the crafting, a vending machine, turrets for protection (which almost never seem to trigger on enemies, by the way), beds, and even got a settler who I met, who just hangs out at my settlement and plays guitar. Great.
And then today, the server locked up or went offline mid-game, and I booted back to the main screen. I had been in build mode at the time. I think that might factor in. When I got back in, it couldn't place my camp, gave me a free relocation, I took it, and when I put down the C.A.M.P. what did I get? It saved ONE ROOF TILE. Literally everything from the last 2 weeks was lost. To rebuild I'd need to get the resources again and re-place everything, new. I logged into a new game to see if it was a quirk, but it wasn't.
Bethesda, losing the items I had placed down today when it froze? Understandable. Losing everything, including the original building from days ago? Even the basic concrete flooring from 2 weeks ago? HOW? How could you lose THAT?
Bethesda, the game isn't good enough to persist with through this kind of mistake. I can forgive those smaller things like the cheery delusional "are we in a post-apoc game? tee hee it doesn't seem like it" theme, but if you're gonna do that AND then lose hours & hours & hours of my effort, WTF am I doing here? I'm not rebuilding, Bethesda. Sorry.
But maybe you can fix that for anyone else who is going to hit that same wall. Good luck.

I work „hybrid” night shifts (I’m in the office maybe 4 hours a month) in small logistics company and it feels like I’m doing nothing lately. I’m an IT guy so I’m fixing computers which rarely break and i maintain website which i build for this company. Also i keep an eye on truck drivers because they often were sleeping and were late or had their Amazon relay app turned off, or rather i used to do it. Nowadays i just look if everything is alright which i do 2 times an hour and it takes 10 minutes combined through the whole shift. Most of the time i just play games, watch movies or do a side hustle and no one suspects anything or gives a damn. Is it normal?! Anyone is in similar situation? Need to mention that I’m the only person in the company that works remotely and I get paid more than people in the office.

I Just want to say thank you to all the kind souls that take the time to lend a helping hand. I’m talking about towing you up to T3 and/or T4 in early build. Or dragging you through high level NM dungeons for leveling and gear. I personally appreciate the accelerated growth. I also return this favor on occasion. It’s good for the community and the spirit of gaming… so… thank you… you know what you are! Hah, see you all in S4.

Fortunately enough today I was able to enjoy this glorious victory. A small victory of many to come, but a victory nonetheless.
69,420 days have gone by since we have seen movement and volume like today. I saw my portfolio go green for the first time since the flash crash. Granted there is no green, there is no red. There is only hodl.
Back to the story at hand… I sat for hours as I waited for a tow truck to come grab me, but god were those hours cherished. Reflecting on life, bills, debt, high mortgage rates, general cost of living… selling never crossed my mind and it never will.
I remember why I held in 21’ it was because of the buy button being disabled. We all felt cheated.
I remember why I held in 22’ it was because of the DD & beginning to understand the bigger picture of CS&DRS.
I remember why I held in 23’ it was because I starting gaining a lot of faith in RC & the GS team. They were doing/planning/testing some big stuff.
Now I know why I hold in 24’ it is because when all else fails, I am apart of something bigger than myself. There is no WE, but together all the I’s matter.
All us apes have our battles. 2024 isn’t an easy time to live in if you are not already set. Keep your head up, eat your bananas and DRS the peels when you’re done. (NFA)
As for me, I’m going to buckle up and enjoy the greatest show on earth. Well I guess I won’t be buckling up any time soon.
