Well, Hi all! again! 4Th Wall here, I figured since I just got power back, I might as well play some catch up on both series. Hope you enjoy this episode!!

Benjamin smiled, watching the girls skip ahead of him. Today was a testing day of sorts for him. Unwilling to release firearms into this world haphazardly, yet unwilling to go without them as a backup; he had pulled from one of his sister’s favorite video games. He had “melted down” his bowie knife, repurposing the metal to be used in his latest creation. The final product rode on his hip like a short sword, but Ben was satisfied in the design when the vast majority of the people he passed ignored it as just another adventurer’s blade. Benjamin hoped, that with the existence of Majik, that he would be able to pass off any… peculiarities... as the realm of the supernatural.

The three of them arrived at the tailor’s establishment, and the girls were met with a customary indifference that seemed to present itself when a slave’s “master” was present. The moment Benjamin entered, the seamstress ceased to pay attention to the girls, and instead addressed him directly, “Ah, The Forgemaster’s Protégé. What can I do for you this day.” She said cooly, bowing slightly in welcome. “I’m here commission some clothing for these two, a reward for good service.” Benjamin began. It was technically true; the success of the forge had afforded him much more coin than a mere apprentice could have made. Qort had taken him on as a true partner, and Benjamin earned enough to comfortably afford to cloth his “slaves” in whatever he chose.

Some stigma’s remained however, and the seamstress seemed to glare sideways at the girls as they perused the fabrics adorning the walls. “Is that wise? A slave could lose her place with such gifts.” she asked, her polite tone barely hiding her disapproval. Benjamin sighed internally, ‘oh for fucks sake’ he groaned in his own mind before putting on facad, “I find that proper reward, afforded on the right servant can result in” he paused, projecting a smug expression and blatantly looking the girls up and down. “a profound dedication to their duties” he finished with a satisfied smile as the seamstress covered her mouth with a hand to hide a smile of her own. The gambit worked, and the Seamstress was obviously satisfied that the “Aereesen slave whores” were being properly “used”. “Ah, I understand. What did you have in mind for them.” She practically moaned back at Benjamin. ‘This hag needs a good pounding….’ Benjamin’s inner monologue threatened to crack his facade, “That’s the fun part, my good lady. It’s their choice. The surprise is half the excitement.” He chuckled.

The seamstress openly smiled at him this time before nodding and stepping over to the two girls. Benjamin breathed a sigh of relief as she seemed to treat them at least marginally more warmly. The old racist bag didn’t need to know that Benjamin was secretly building a small nest egg for his girls, or that his sending them out to do errands for him was how he was teaching them about money, value, and the application of Mathematics. She also didn’t need to know that the full Cutlery set that she had purchased last week had been made by Vi’s own hand as her first full solo commission set. Benjamin had stamped his “mark” on them, because slaves were not allowed to own anything, including their own work; but Vi had begun with raw steel and finished with one of the finest cooking knife sets he had seen in this world or his.

Benjamin settled onto a bench outside, using the excuse of wanting to enjoy the morning air to afford his girls some privacy. Now that Viola and Valtrya were eating a healthy diet, and the right calorie amount; they had blossomed into absolute bombshells. Their hair had recovered, and both sported long flowing locks that boasted a silky satin black color and texture that betrayed hints of deep royal purple. The color reminded Benjamin of one of those expensive custom car paints that changed color depending on the lighting.

Their skin recovered almost as quickly as their hair. The sickly, scabbed look was quickly replaced with the same satin quality as their hair to the touch, but with a light grey coloring that almost seemed to tease the edge of hinting at a greyish purple. A dense pattern of Small freckles of the same dark, almost royal, purple as the highlights in their hair frolicked on both girl’s cheeks, and down the sides of their necks. Because of their early lack of understanding on modestly, Ben knew that those freckles traveled much further. The sad truth was that Benjamin understood fully why Aereesen’s were the prize of slavers and brothels, and he silently prayed that he could give them enough self-worth and skill to have a better life than that, once he got them out of the Principality.

A door’s soft creaking broke Benjamin from his thoughts as the two sisters stepped out smiling, “Get everything you need?” he asked standing as the three of them departed the establishment. Val nodded vigorously, and Vi smiled as she spoke, “I think so, but I had to practically beg the woman to stop showing us lingerie… what did you tell her?” Benjamin felt his cheeks heat as he responded, “What I had to. The old hag doesn’t get enough at home. It’s not my fault that your ‘enthusiasm’ is in the forge and your studies, not between the sheets. I didn’t lie to her, I just let her draw her own conclusions, sorry.”

Vi’s eyes twinkled for a second, “Oh,” She smirked, “Thaaat’s why she broke out the silk. Some of her options were..” She blatantly bit her lip at Benjamin. “You didn’t…” He asked in shock, and Vi lifted up on her tippy toes to brush her lips against his ear, “Not telling” she purred, setting Bens senses on fire. She backed up a step, openly smirking at his beet red face. “But your expression is adorable… My Lord” She stated the last two words with a deep sultry tone, knowing that Ben couldn’t scold her in public before taking his hand, “May we visit the bazar next? Val saw some jewelry she wanted to look at.” Benjamin gave her a pointed look, that turned into a smile as she beamed at him, “Ok, sounds good. I need to pick up some food for the week.”

It was later that afternoon when the three of them left the bazar. They found Jukha waiting on the bench in front of their home. “Jukha! How are you!” Benjamin called, clasping the Orc’s hand firmly as the girls rushed inside to put up their purchases. Jukha reciprocated, if somewhat stiffly, to the strange to him gesture. “Benjamin, it is good to see you well.” His tone stopped Ben in his tracks, “What is it. Is your wife, ok?”
Jukha shook his head, “Vilora is well, but I have been tasked with finding you.” He said carefully, “The slaver, the one you dueled for those two,” he nodded to Vi and Val as they stepped back out of the building, “The Heir of The Romoregin house is here. He has lodged an official demand for satisfaction, and he brought a champion.”

Benjamin stiffened, “Another duel? You said an ‘official demand’… what happens if I refuse.” Jukha winced at Ben’s tone, “It is an archaic practice of my people, rarely remembered, and even more rarely demanded. You cannot deny a satisfaction claim, but should you prevail, no further claims can be made upon your person. I am sorry Benjamin, but if you flee or refuse, your life is forfeit; and your property goes to the claimant.” Jukha looked pointedly at Viola and Valtrya. “The young puke has put me in danger as well, if I do not deliver you and them to the duel, I can be detained. If they torture me….” Benjamin’s eyes widened before hardening in understanding. “Jukha…” He turned to find Viola standing next to him, with his musket in one arm and his ammunition bag in the other, and sighed, “Fuck”. He loaded his musket with a single roundball cartridge this time, unwilling to fire buck and ball in the town streets. He pealed the ball out of the paper wading after pouring the poweder, reaching into his haversack to retrieve a small round patch made of pillow ticking. Jukha looked on in mild fascination as Benjamin spit on the cloth patch before wrapping the ball in it and ramming the whole thing down the barrel. It wasn’t much, but it reduce windage, ensuring at least reasonable enough accuracy from the smoothbore to keep from hitting innocent bystanders. It would also virtually eliminate blow-by, upping the chamber pressure and giving him a little more velocity. “I’m ready.”

The four of them entered the small city square to be met with Qort and three Org guards. These soldiers wore different insignia that Benjamin had been taught were the mark of the capital. “Beenjaymen Shayfe” one of them butchered his name, “I am.” Ben nodded firmly, the other guard nodded, “And your two slaves, good. Has Jukha informed you of the proceedings.” Benjamin scowled, “A legalized way to attempt a revenge killing? Yea, I’ve been told.” Ben didn’t bother to hide his vitriol, “So I have to kill a motherfucker for defending myself from his father?”

“Not quite. The Heir has brought a champion. The rules are simple, all forms of combat are allowed” The first guard began as the second one began chaining the wrists of Viola and Valtrya. Benjamin began to move before thinking, only to be held back by Jukha, “Peace albino. They must do this. Fighting them will cause a forfeit.” Benjamin looked at the terrified faces of the two girls. He forced himself to calm down outwardly, but Benjamin could feel the rage building. He had worked so hard to save those two, to get them out.. now some snot nosed brat was going to try to kill him because his father didn’t know when to fuck off. Benjamin stepped out from around the guards. The “heir” was a young Durr. Ben had no frame of reference for age, but the Heir was substantially shorter, and his facial tentacles were almost mere buds. Beside him stood a crimson colossus, the same species as the Hunter he had shot saving Jukha. He was taller than that female, and was wearing plate armor, gilded in silver. He hefted a great sword of some kind and smiled openly at Benjamin. It was not a pleasant expression. “Ah, so You’re the puke I’ll be cleaning from my blade. I am Krastorin. Come here, pale one, I’ll make it quick.”

Benjamin looked him over, subtly shifting into a shooting stance but keeping his musket looking like he was resting the butt of a spear on the ground. “You look accomplished, what makes you do the bidding of the boy.” He asked, blatant scorn on his tone. The Young Durr flinched, his small tentacle buds writhing violently. “H’Dare Yee!” he bellowed, voice cracking with the strain of fury, “Aye’ll ‘ave Yee Head on Me’Wall!!”
Benjamin ignored him, focusing on the Hellirine. The man looked back at the boy with a raised eyebrow, “The young puke promised me one of those.” He pointed at Vi and Val, who had reverted to their former trembling submissive postures that Ben had met them in. “It appears that they are as well kept as claimed. I look forward to sampling them.” He leered. Benjamin looked over at the Young Durr and found his face a mixture of relief and anger. ‘Ah, lied about daddy’s slaves.’ He turned to the soldier standing next to him, “Is the duel on?” he growled.

“Combatants! Begin!” was the Soldiers response, and the crimson mercenary lifted his sword from his shoulders advancing forward with a long confident stride, “at last, let’s get this over wi..” a clap of thunder echo’d through the Feral wood, and most of the crowd cried out in surprise as Benjamin disappeared, seemingly behind a bubble of fire, and brimstone. The single round ball ignored the mercenary’s plate armor. Punching straight through as the soft lead mushroomed out into a ragged disk that measured almost an inch and a half. The mangled projectile, still travelling at almost half the speed of sound, eviscerated the chest cavity of the Mercenary before blowing a one foot wide hole out of the crimson man’s back. The exit wound missed Krastorin’s spine by an inch, but it didn’t matter. The projectile embedded itself into a post, thankfully missing any bystanders by mere inches in some cases. The Young Durr, who was standing just behind and to the side of his champion, was screaming as he pawed at the bits of pale yellow blood, bones, and fragments of internal organs now covering him from head to toe.

Benjamin handed the smoking musket to Jukha, drawing his short sword and walking over to a sputtering, choking, and coughing Krastorin. The Hellirine lay face down on the ground, having fallen that way from the momentum of his initial advance. The back of Benjamins mind was sickly amused as he remembered the old Hollywood trope of bullets throwing people backward, and a pinch of regret sparked in his soul as his opponent death rattled. He stepped up to the Heir, resting the blade against his neck, “Are we done here. Be a better man than your father and learn when to save your own life.” The Young Durr froze, staring up at him in abject terror for several moments as a puddle formed at his feet. Benjamin opened his mouth to speak again when the boy simply passed out, falling into the puddle of his own mess as his mind refused to stay conscious.

Benjamin turned to walk back towards Jukha and the girls. “Unchain them.” Benjamin’s tone could have frozen a raging forge’s inferno. To his surprise, two of the soldiers drew their weapons on him, “You need to come with us. All Touched must be registered with...” Benjamin pointed his short sword at the one talking… and pulled the trigger. The percussion revolver built into the hilt of the short sword was zero’d using a notch Benjamin cut into the crossguard, and the tip of the curved blade as a crude set of open sights. The barrel of the revolver lay along one side of the blade, and was rifled. The speaking soldier orc’s took the smaller pistol round through the forehead, exploding the back of his skull in a cone of dark green and grey mist. The exit wound showered his companion in bits of bone and brains. Benjamin’s thumb found the hammer, and four satisfying clicks echo’d in the stunned silence, “HEAR ME!” He growled, “I, am touched by the Gods. I posses the power to end any life I choose using the power of Hell itself!” ‘if I have to show them a gun, might as well throw them off the trail’ “The violence of the raging volcano obeys my very fingertips.” His revolvesword bucked a second time as another soldier orc made a move to rush him. The smaller pistol round still punched through the orcs armor and out the back, but only left him screaming on the ground. Benjamin re-cocked, and leveled his weapon at the orc holding the chains to Val and Vi. “Now, release them.” This last remaining Orc did as asked, before gathering up his screaming companion as the girls rushed to Benjamin, he pulled them close, whispering, “I’m sorry we wont be able to pick up your dresses.”

The three of them packed up that night. Qort had understood, knowing all too well what the Principality would do to acquire a Touched of Benjamins ability. “Stay safe my friend. I pray our paths cross again.” Jukha snuck them out of the village that night, using his wagon to get them to his home. They stayed a week, laying low while they planned their next move. The girls spent their time learning recipes from Jukha’s wife, and ben took the time to unwind a bit. Jukha and He went on a hunt, and Benjamin was given a run down on the flora and fauna of the Feral wood. The two of them brought back a pair of Stags, and the three women cooked them a feast.

“Dinner’s ready!!” called Viola, setting the last of the sides on the table as the dutch oven roasted meat was brought off of the stove top. It was a simple yet elegant meal. Stag, potatoes, some kind of Kale style vegetable that Benjamin had never seen before. Soon enough, everyone at the table was leaning back, as full as they could make themselves. “So, pinkskin,” Jukha asked, “Where do you plan on going. I wouldn’t mind you staying with me. I could use another hunter, but I suspect that they would notice the extra product I brought to the village.”

Benjamin Hummed, “The Maridian Combine. Qort told me that they banned slavery over a century ago, the girls have learned so much already. It would be easy to find jobs for them.” Vi and Val drooped slightly but hid it well. Jukha noticed it but said nothing. “A good choice, their boarders are well guarded, you would need to free them before you cross, or end up in a dungeon yourself.”

“Good point, I can write up a simple writ of freedom. Something I can sign and give to them.” Benjamin nodded, “I can get started on that to…” he paused as a hand fell on his. He looked to see Viola staring at him, fighting back tears, “Hey, what’s wrong. You will be free…” Jukha nodded slowly and stood. “love,” he said to Vilora, “I need some help with the livestock” The Farie met his eyes in unspoken understanding, fluttering out the front door with Jukha.

“Vi, what’s wrong.” Benjamin asked gently.

“No… go… Val… stay…” Both of them turned to Valtrya in shock. She was trembling, “I wont..leave.”

“You speak?” Benjamin looked in shock, but Viola spoke next, “Benjamin, we don’t want to leave. We want to stay, with you. I…” She paused. Ben sighed, “I want you to stay too.” He said, finally admitting it to himself, “But I can’t own you. It’s killing me that you are my property.” He reached up and wiped a tear from Vi’s eyes, “You are so much more than property. I feel evil, every day that I wake up knowing that I could do anything I wanted to you, or worse, die and have someone else hurt you for the fun of it.” Benjamin bowed his head. Viola reached out, lifting his chin to look into his eyes, “Then come with us.” She whispered as Val stood up and stepped around the table, “yes.. You, come.” She wrapped herself around Ben from the side leaning in until she was resting her head against his shoulder, “I’m… staying.. with you.” she said softly. Viola nodded, “Benjamin, how old do you think we are.”

Ben looked at her in confusion, “I have no idea, I’ve always assumed you were teenagers. 13-14 years old for Val, maybe 16 for you, but that was when you were skin and bones.” He admitted.

Viola’s eyes widened in understanding. “You did not want to bed us because you thought us children.” Benjamin nodded slowly, answering. “And forcing sex on a child is the worst kind of crime on my world”. Viola and Valtrya looked at each other, before Vi spoke. “Ben, my sister will turn one hundred and three in a fortnight. I just had my one hundred and fifteenth birthday last week.” She leaned in, pressing her lips to Bens as she kissed him passionately for a moment. “We are no children,” Viola paused as Valtrya leaned in, kissing Ben lightly on the neck, “You are not forcing us to do anything, but leave.” Viola whispered as she began to close in to a surprised Benjamin for another kiss.

The door to the cabin flew open violently, and the girls pulled back to a more modest distance. Jukha walked in, carrying a panting Vilora. “What happened.” Ben asked hurriedly, hoping he wasn’t blushing as hard as the heat on his cheeks suggested. Vilora waved a hand as Jukha set her down in her chair, “The Vin… My sisters… they reached out… They wish to meet…” The Farie gathered herself, “They also sent a warning. We must leave, tonight… hunters.”

I'm really passionate about theater and have been doing it for several years. I'm in one of my schools theater classes, and we're having a small performance tomorrow. It's members of each class doing a monologue and/or scene. My friend, also in the theatre class, asked some of our friends to come today. My boyfriend as I learned, is unable to come to it. That isn't what got me upset, since I understand being unable to get a ride or having had other plans. It was why he couldn't come. His female friend's birthday is tomorrow and he's going out with her and three other friends.
I understand celebrating her birthday, but this knowledge just got to me for several reasons. I don't know this friend or the other ones (I know of them, just have never met them), I hadn't known about this beforehand (it just kinda hurt, since it felt like he didn't find me important enough to tell me stuff or that he didn't want me to know), he mentioned it so flippantly like he didn't care he was missing my thing (he later on confirmed he didn't want to miss it but at the moment that's just how it seemed), I got scared since he's known that girl longer than he's known me, and it was a brutal reminder of how while I don't have friends that I can hang out with outside of ones he knows and is friends with, he does.
I got jealous and a little mad at him, and then I felt bad for feeling that way, which made it even worse. While I didn't want him to feel bad for missing my thing and I wanted him to enjoy himself, another part of me wanted him to feel bad and not enjoy himself so he'd regret not coming. In a similar way, one part of me wanted to be mad at him and wanted him to know, while another part of me didn't. I ended up blowing him off and mostly ignoring him when we walked together between classes, choosing to instead talk with other people, since I wasn't sure what to do and felt bad for feeling the way I felt. He picked up on it, and later after we both were home we talked (over text). While the talk reassured me, it also made me feel bad.
By the time I had gotten home I felt bad and like I had been a total bitch. During the talk I ended up crying since it was really the only way I knew how to let it out. I hadn't wanted to tell him since I knew he'd feel bad and that's exactly what happened. I don't want to be the controlling girlfriend, in fact that's exactly what I'm terrified of being, and yet it's what I was being exactly like. He told me that if I had told him before he wouldn't have gone, which made me feel even worse because I don't want him to do things just cause I feel bad or jealous. Overall I just feel like a horrible girlfriend and I just need to know ways I can stop doing this.

I know this conclusion has probably already been reached, but I wanted to share my thoughts anyway.
We know from "Intruder Alert" that a baby was stolen by the intruder, and this is supposed (as far as I'm concerned) to be Adam Murray, due to him presumably being an alternate, and the intruder asking him if he remembers that night during his monologue in volume 4. We also know from that same video that the mother of the baby, which would be Adam's mother, committed suicide as a result of the kidnapping.
In volume 2, we are introduced to Adam and Jonah. During the climax of the video, when Adam opens the basement door, Jonah yells at Adam for always running to the alternates when they catch wind of an encounter. Jonah also tells Adam that they never should have tried to look for someone related to Adam, whose identity is censored but who we know is female and most likely dead.
The idea popped into my head: Adam is looking for his mother. Consider that "Gabriel" is Satan in this story, which evidence seems to suggest. Consider that the alternates main goal is to try and get people to commit suicide by inflicting metaphysical awareness disorder (M.A.D.), and that according to Christianity, those who kill themselves go to hell. It's likely that the alternates get people to commit suicide specifically to add to their ranks, in this way.
My theory is that at a certain point or age Adam realized his mother was most likely an alternate due to the nature of her death, and therefore rushes to meet alternates anywhere they pop up in the hopes that he will find his mother and somehow heal or fix her. Furthermore, in "Presto," we see that despite presumably being an alternate, Adam is able to converse with Thatcher Davis like any person would, indicating that alternates do not necessarily have to be evil or malicious.

I have no one to talk to for a long time now, I have an anime monologue inside my brain that can go on forever. I talk to myself and have many thoughts. I escape reality by thinking about anime and internet life so that I don't think about my sad hikikomori life.
People wonder how I can type so much online, that is the reason. There is so much I can share, since many things are on my mind.
But, I am very boring since I never experience anything or do much, I have limited interests.
Lately, I have been on a dating app and talked to a guy I thought was cool. I got nervous and stopped talking or being active on the dating site. I wanted to be friends with him. But, he had a partner, so it was kind of awkward for me. I will try to talk to him again.
I wish I was in a relationship, even if I am a hikikomori! Japanese women melt my heart, but I am kind of disillusioned with them. They are my type, but I don't understand them too well, personality?
If I can't be in a relationship with my ideal type, I would try considering trans asian women or becoming female to be with an asian guy?
How many of you used 4chan before, I was interested but don't know how to use it. I heard some people had success finding a partner there. I hope to find an asian woman who is a real yandere there or something.

My community theater is holding auditions soon for Putting it Together, and I have never seen a production of this nor am I very familiar with it despite my lifelong love of Sondheim.
I (F 40's) am planning to audition. We can always write that we'd accept any role, but since there are only two female-presenting roles, I'm wondering if I should select an audition piece that aims for one of the roles in particular. The descriptions say Woman 1 is 40's-60's and Woman 2 is 20's-40s. I am not a strong classic belter, but I have a pretty large range including a rich alto range and a high mix that I've been working hard to strengthen. So I'm right in the middle on both age and voice part.
So my question is, how much does the storyline matter? I had read that it's completely sung-through, but then I saw elsewhere that at least Man 3 has a monologue to open the show. And if it's sung-through, is the plot a very loose one where if you get it, OK, but if not, you just get to hear a bunch of great songs and that's OK too? Any advice to help me understand how plot happens in this show would be so helpful. Thanks.

As a queer woman, I have a somewhat complicated relationship with femininity, and as a result I tend to gravitate toward books with male protagonists simply because they tend not to think about their appearance at all, and just get along with the story. I would really like to read more books with female protagonists, but I find internal monologues about how thin/pretty/delicate they are (or are not) to be frustrating at a minimum and occasionally genuinely triggering. In particular I will DNF books pretty rapidly if they talk too much about the protagonist’s weight. YA books are of course most egregious with this but are not the exception.
I’m not necessarily looking for queer protagonists (though I do love those), but I am looking for any recommendations for books where the character literally does not care about their appearance, and/or where their appearance is not traditionally feminine and that’s presented as a good or morally neutral thing. I love characters that are physically competent, goal oriented, complex, etc. The best examples I can think of are Gideon from Gideon the Ninth, Mahit from A Memory Called Empire, and the protagonist from Jeff Vandermeer’s Annihilation, who was a particular revelation for me, and got me thinking about this topic in the first place.
I read a lot and will enjoy books from pretty much any genre if they’re well written, but in particular I love fantasy and sci fi, and I’m tentatively interested in reading more romance. Has anyone else been thinking about this? Any recommendations?

Edit again because I’ve been thinking about this more as I read comments (thanks everyone for all of your recommendations!!): I apologize because I’m about to ramble a bit but I’m not sure I clarified well or even really unpacked in my own thoughts about what counts as “feminine” and what specifically bothers me about those protagonists… I’m not only looking for badass fighters or for characters that have fully rejected anything feminine (for example I found Brienne in GOT to be a very frustrating character) but more so for characters whose feminine traits or lack of feminine traits are (internally) value neutral. It’s mostly the internal narration that bothers me- I have a hard time putting myself in the head of any character that’s constantly thinking about their appearance, especially when it’s negative, and especially if it’s used to impart values about the world that are clearly just modern patriarchal ones. When I say “unfeminine” I’m not necessarily talking about the character’s looks, but instead about a rejection of the importance of being pretty/submissive/small/etc… regardless of whether or not the character has any of those traits. I’m not sure if this will make my ask clearer or more confusing lol.

I just got back from my routine OB appointment and am really upset and just need to vent for a second. Baby is totally fine, that isn’t the issue, thankfully. I love my OBGYN office. Every single person there is so sweet and I always enjoy going. There are two OBGYNs, a man and a woman who I’ve seen interchangeably throughout my pregnancy. Both have been very kind and really care, and I haven’t preferred one over the other. Today at my appointment I had the man, and since I’m 39week we were talking about labor contractors vs BH contractions and basically the point he was trying to get to was “you’ll know the difference when you experience it.” Unfortunately the way the decided to get around to that message was by completely randomly launching into a whole monologue about Clarence Thomas, specifically how in his Supreme Court nomination hearing there was the question of porn vs art and he was basically saying you’ll know it when you see it (which didn’t even make sense to be because it was a different justice that said that in relation to identifying obscenity I’m pretty sure but whatever) and in the process of getting to that quote/misquote he literally made a jab at Anita hill and he must have seen the shock on our faces so basically dug in deeper to say how Thomas is a great guy universally liked on both sides of the aisle so it doesn’t matter what your politics are etc etc. he just would not stop rambling about it. And I was just so caught off guard and in shock/confusion as to what was happening and why all of this was being said that I didn’t really say anything/react. It’s one thing if a stranger launches into a random political word vomit and another thing when you’ve spoken with someone in a professional setting over the course of 9 months and suddenly they spring it on you. I’m upset because not only was it so fucking weird and inappropriate, but also the layers of implications are so disturbing to me. This guy is an OBGYN but thinks someone who voted to overturn roe v wade and is on record saying we should rethink access to contraceptives (among other problematic shit!) is a cool guy?? And even worse than thinking that stuff is the fact that he thought it was ok to say to a patient! I’m so fucking yucked out and sad. I can probably call and make sure any remaining appointments are with the female OBGYN, but my due date is in 4 days and I feel like I’m not going to necessarily have the luxury of scheduling preference over the next two weeks. And I just literally never want to see him again but I love the office in general but I don’t know how to bounce back from that and absolutely don’t feel comfortable seeing him again ever.

Hmvw2015: For me, RWBY filled the void left behind by Avatar: The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra. It’s one of the few shows I’ve seen (aside from Adventure Time) that grows up with its audience. The fight scenes are so incredible! They’re lightening fast I would have to rewatch the same episode at least twice or thrice! Easily rivaling those done by Studios Gainax or TRIGGER, or Titmouse. Since every character, place, and object have connections to fairy tales, mythologies, folklore, and classic novels, it did a great job portraying them to their root inspirations. Plus, I’m always digging deep into their designs and backstories. The music is almost top tier to the music from the Disney Renaissance Era. Maybe even better than that. The songs add another layer of foreshadowing for the characters, and they’re fun to listen to~! It tackles issues like self-worth, abuse, and death. Ammy246: I've always enjoyed the characters, and I like how there are 4 badass female protagonists who are each enjoyable to watch. I also like how the villains are actually threatening, so the heroes have to put effort into earning victories unlike many works of fiction. The animation always excites me, because you never know what you're going to get. And, don't even get me started on the amazing soundtrack.
Cinnamonrollfuckhead: it tickles all the right things about me. i got in trouble for reading in classes when i finished my work early at school, it was nearly always history or mythology. i was an ancient Egypt kid. i read outside my age group. if Snapple wanted to employ me to write factoids for their caps i would take it. i was hooked on RWBY immediately despite being older than any of the main characters. i found an unlikely character to relate to in Jaune. i loved how it balanced serious and goofy themes.
Satoshi-mochida: Some stuff I like about the show is that it's pretty fun and entertaining to watch, has constantly improving writing and animation(the CRWBY recognizing ACTUAL criticism, and working on those), with smarter and deeper than some may think moments, well-done characters, great music and songs, and probably more. I even cosplayed as Jaune(and the 'HuntsMan' with a Wonder-Zwei plush)with my then-girlfriend before COVID hit and other stuff happened, and enjoyed doing that.
Haunted-meatsack: I'm waaaaay behind but I started watching for the fight choreography, music, and battle skirts. Plus I'm a sucker for small girls who kick ass with GIANT weapons. Then the story and characters kept me coming. I need to catch up.

XLBINGO10: one thing that i particularly like about rwby is that the characters aren't dumbasses. i feel like so often in shows i watch there's an episode conflict where the characters make an obviously terrible plan that will clearly backfire horribly just for the sake of the episode plot and it's always painful to watch, so it's really nice to watch a show where that doesn't happen.

Ghost-of-Sparda: Rwby was a show I found in college that I wasn’t sure I was going to enjoy, but as I watched it- I found myself completely enthralled in the world created by Monty Oum and his friends. It’s story has me on the edge of my seat every episode, and it’s anime vibes make it a treat to watch. It’s not perfect, I will admit that- and there have been times where I didn’t agree with a direction of story telling at first. However there hasn’t been a show that gets me as excited as RWBY does since I was a kid. If you grew up watching anime, or grew up watching anime- I’d give RWBY a go. If you are still not over the Owl House/ She-Ra/ ATLA/ LOK/ Naruto/ or any other amazing series with crazy fights and an amazing story: I recommend Rwby as your next obsession. And if you want to give anime a try, but are still dipping your toes into the medium- Rwby is a good half way point for newcomers.

Mercury hated the world and needed an enabler, Emerald needed security, Cinder snapped after a lifetime of abuse (just like Mercury), Hazel wanted revenge, Lionhart wanted to save himself, Raven wanted to save herself, Tyrian is just insane (based), Watts wanted petty revenge, Neo wanted revenge but doesn’t know what to do afterwards, CC wants to fulfill their cruel purpose, and Salem just wants to finally die. Torchwick was a comical villain who posed a dangerous threat, the Malachite sisters were doing their jobs, Ironwood was a victim of his own paranoia, Cardin was just racist, Cordovin worships her superiors, the Fennec brothers too, Adam wanted total control over everything and everyone in his life and would stop at nothing to get it, Ilia believed in a cause, Tock was following orders, it’s all so varied and exciting!!

Pyrokinetic-murder-hobo: I honestly fell in love with this project immediately back when the red trailer was first introduced to me. Though the animation for RWBY was simple and understandably a lot of people regard it as not the best. Even V1 and the original 4 trailers had a living soul to me and there was a certain charm to the characters and the animation. What kept me coming back is I find myself being unable to predict where the show will go and it honestly keeps me drawn in that my thoughts and predictions are completely circumvented. The show doesn’t follow the trajectory of really any other media and Monty navigated it masterfully. There’s so many relatable characters and the situations they are put in are approached not perfectly but in a human way as to be a human (even if you have copious amounts of power) means you’ll definitely trip up. But simply put I’ve loved this project since the beginning with the 4 trailers and could write a dissertation on why I love this show and include a long list of different things I love ranging from OST to characters to design animation. iamafanofcartoons: For me, RWBY is a change of pace. It allows for women to be shown as independent characters, just as smart and strong as male ones. It doesn’t use fanservice , you don’t have internal monologuing during fight scenes, you don’t have people screaming random attack names, and the music and designs are great. I appreciate the humor, its not toilet humor or degrading humor like a lot of anime. It also tackles difficult themes like abuse, leadership, morality, and debate. It also takes the white male savior trope so common in the fanfics that people use to promote their OCs, and takes a giant dump on that garbage. If anything, when people say “the fanfics are better than the show” you’ll see them promoting a white male savior trope above all else. Finally? Its a pro-LGBT show on many aspects, which amusingly infuriates a lot of straight shippers who defend their straight white male character who they put on a pedestal.

Foulfirerebel: The music was what first made me get interested in RWBY. The hard hitting rock that also carried quite a bit of meaning into it if you truly took a moment to listen to the lyrics. So, from there I watched V1 at a friend's house and felt it was good. It did a good job with the action scenes, and setting things up for the characters. Volume 2, however, is where I truly fell in love with the show. The appearance of Cinder, of Ironwood, the food fight, the investigation into Torchwick and the White Fang, the dance and hacking sequence! Everything pointed to something more going on. Something hidden waiting to spring forth! V1 was a great entry point, V2 convinced me to stay and hooked me, and when I finally marathoned V3 I was EAGER to watch V4 and onward. Any and all quibbles I may have had melted away when the Fall of Beacon happened. So, long story short, I love the story. I love how things are built up and come back further down the line (Jaune's issues, Ruby's issues, etc.). I love how the characters do go through a lot and need help getting back up. I love how sincere and earnest everything is without a hint of irony. I love the slow burn relationships, and that the show doesn't end with those relationships just being established. I love that, despite everything, this one little indie show has continued going past everything that's happened in a decade since it started. I love that the story is engaging, the characters are deep, the writing is great, and that I'm even feeling bad for the villains which I don't normally do. RWBY may not be the most perfect thing ever, but frankly I love that the writers do see and incorporate feedback into their work. I love that, unlike how Halo or Star Wars do things, you don't necessarily need to have read all the side content to understand things too. Most of all is I love how this show has improved on every level: animation, writing, voice acting, etc. It's just so refreshing. It's the Little Engine that Could continuing onward and getting better as it goes. And hey, being a Bumbleby shipper since V3 and being vindicated in V9? Cherry on the sundae. It's been a wild ride, and I'd love it to continue.

mooninoir: i started watching when vol. 1 was still going, with a fansub (!) working hell and back to translate each episode as they came out. i remember waiting every week to see a new episode, and when the last episodes came, i was entirely invested in this sci-fi fantasy series with fairytale elements and wanted to know what would happen next. and, for me, it's an endearing series that i enjoy watching, even with its flaws. it's fun, but it also has a heart. i like how it didn't shy away from telling a broader story. vol. 3's gut-wrenching finale was for me what made me realize i was not there just for the amazing fights and cool soundtrack, but for the characters and how they live in this crazy world. it was amazing to watch its worldbuilding evolve to such great lengths and see the characters i like to grow and learn and evolve along with it. they are done well and don't feel misplaced in the narrative. it just flows nicely and i guess the latest volume proved that to me (the themes, the motifs, the characters' choices, and the visuals) everything comes together, y'know? and i just... like it. i like rwby. i really do.

feifiefofum: look, the ad on the tin was cute girls doing violent things and looking great while doing it. that was the impetus for me to follow the show, i was there when it started with the famous red trailer to yellow trailer. the writing then wasn't bad, a bit condensed because, y'know, shoestring budget so everything was very tight time wise. but y'know, you didn't watch the four trailers and get sold on the story- which was good by the by, but it wasn't exceptional. it was by the numbers, hitting what they need to hit, but good. you didn't think it was spectacular. but then volume 3 hits you out of nowhere, and you realize, oh, the writing is phenomenal actually. rwby has deceptively good writing that on the surface is good par for the course that lulls you into complacency, and then manages to sideswipe you with incredible twists that you don't see, but on looking back, the seeds for the twist were planted from book 1 on. the world is slowly and meticulously rolled out to the viewer, the characters shine, and the action, while still spectacular, become secondary to the characters and the world. i started watching rwby, expecting cute girls doing violent things. and they deliver on that, and if you come watch rwby just for that, it delivers that. i didn't come in for hearty world building, intrigue, and lore so deep you can get lost in it. the writers write on a razor's edge, giving enough lore for a backdrop and setting the stage, but if you decide to dig at any trail, you can get lost in it. the concept of dust, the name of the world itself- frankly i think it's a masterclass in giving enough to keep the story going but having enough in the back that every new twist that they lay out can be found to have grown from a seed that was planted in an earlier volume. i dunno who traded their soul away to keep track of all that world building and lore, but that excel sheet must be something to behold. rwby throws u-turns that you don't expect at you, lulls you with a sense of 'okay, i see your tricks now' and somehow manages to turn you around again, and have it make sense. frankly, it's a little frustrating, i've been bamboozled and led by the nose. and i love it for that. i'm delighted by the ride i'm on, and i hope the show keeps going.

I have love for the characters (Weiss is the best), and I do feel a sence of amazement that a western project like this ha s grown so much. Not to mention the amount of art, comics, manga, and fanfics that have spawned from the show. Do I have problems with RWBY? Yes. Howlingday: So, I was in high school and I was watching Red VS Blue. Then I started watching Rage Quit. Then Achievement Hunter. Play Pals. Then my sister and my high school crush were like, hey, try out RWBY. I mocked them by saying "It should be Ar-Dubyoo-Bee-Why". Then I got into it and, well, I liked it the more I got into it until I was caught up to Volume 2. Then Death Battle had the Yang VS Tifa fight (PLEASE, NO REMATCH), and I was rooting for Yang. Then I saw Volume 3, and I was shocked, dismayed, and devastated at the sudden heel turn. I've been hooked ever since. So, to answer your questions. I watch RWBY because it's fun, and I want to know where the story goes. I loved the fun had at Beacon, and I want to know what happens next. The appeal comes from the desire to see these group of friends fight to save the world from the Grimm. I want to see them thrive against a world where everything is stacked against them! And I want to see them flying kick someone in the face to the sound of the most amazing butt-rock since Crush 40 Sonic (No offense MGR)! So, yeah, I love watching RWBY because it's a story to be told. And I'm going to openly sob when the story finally comes to an end.

Blakistan: I think RWBY was first suggested to be me on the grounds of “lots of really cool fights” which, while not ultimately the point of the show is still a big plus! Monty was an absolute wizard when it came to fight choreography and CRWBY has done a fantastic job keeping up that legacy. Ofc that was only the thing that got me to look at the show in the first place - what made me stay was the incredibly well done character-driven story. Following along and exploring the arcs of all the different characters in the show helped me through tough times and shaped a lot of who I am as a person today - Blake and Weiss’ stories in particular did so much in helping me find hope that I could grow as a person because that what the show is: hope. Hi all, I'm casting for an independent, non-union horror audio drama, with plans to record this summer.
"War of the Undead" is Universal Monsters vs. Nazis. This is a feature-length audiodrama adaptation of a comic book written by Bryan Johnson and Walt Flanagan of "Comic Book Men" and the podcast "Tell 'Em Steve-Dave."
Lots of villainous roles, lots of wordy monologues. It's a FUN horror story. Remote recording is possible, so please audition with your best gear!

Finished the First Law Trilogy 1.5 months ago, then finished listening to Best Served Cold a month ago, and then The Heroes a couple weeks ago (took me just 11 days to finish Red Country I was THAT invested in it). I gave my thoughts on all of them here, now I guess I’ll do the same for RC. Steven Pacey once again ACES every voice he does, what a legend.
Red Country has easily become my favourite standalone and perhaps my overall fav book too in the series alongside LAOK. Mainly because it had two of my top 3 fav characters in the series (Lamb and Cosca). I also loved the Western theme, even though it’s not like I’m a huge fan of Westerns. Joe Abercrombie absolutely nailed everything in this one, probably some of his best work yet imo. I thoroughly enjoyed the story overall, and liked the plot more than the previous two standalones. Even though we got just 2 main POVs and some minor ones, those minor POVs were brief, but very informative, like we got to know what’s going on inside each side’s character’s head and they all felt like real people. Joe wrote them all so good. Especially the Fellowship, most of them were so lovable and their relationship/bonding with each other was so wholesome. The characters were just AMAZING, not just the main ones but some the side ones too. I’ll rank and talk about some of them now (btw major SPOILERS regarding the characters’ fates [and Lamb’s actual identity so pls don’t read further if you don’t know]):
Major characters: 1-Lamb/Logen Ninefingers “The Bloody-Nine”. Say one thing for Logen Ninefingers, say he’s the GOAT. The main reason why I loved Red Country SO MUCH. He was already my 2nd fav in the entire series (by an extremely narrow margin), but after this I’ll have to put him at Number 1, tied with Glokta. Seeing the Bloody-Nine from different POVs was absolutely terrifying. Unlike in the original trilogy where we knew exactly when the personalities were switched, here at times I had had no clue whether it was Logen or it was the Bloody-Nine. He was soo unpredictable and unhinged here, and I absolutely loved it. He had so many memorable moments. The first one was that tavern scene: “The ends of your f#cking legs”, I already made a post on it here, to summarise: I got CHILLS seeing the Bloody-Nine at work after 13 years. And then that moment where he attacks Sangeed and his ghosts was brutal. But perhaps my favourite Bloody-Nine moment was his fight against Glama Golden. The way he maniacally smiled at Golden, looking at him through his missing finger after eating some of his best shots/punches, and Golden recognising who “Lamb” actually was, and realising he’s totally screwed and that it was indeed gonna be his last fight ever… I was smiling throughout that chapter with GOOSEBUMPS all over my body. Another bone-chilling B9 moment was when he told Jubair: “God? Gone. But I’m here” from the shadows and Jubair feeling FEAR for the first time, wow. I loved his friendship with Savian, those two put up a great fight against Cosca and his men. Overall, I felt like Logen had finally come to terms with who he actually was, instead of giving himself false solace. Though I still think there is a lot of good in him, but that darkness inside him always ends up getting the better of him. By the end I felt like he had totally accepted who he was. He just couldn’t escape from his past, and left his new family in order to protect them. At the end he rides off into the sunset, which I consider to be the happiest possible ending for him and the perfect sendoff, I’m totally satisfied because, well, you have to be realistic about these things. Much better than killing him off. Still alive… he’s still alive, thankfully. I don’t think any human can kill the Bloody-Nine in combat, at this point he’s like some supernatural force. Also, I may sound stupid but whenever he spoke some of his iconic quotes I teared up for some reason because I missed them so much. “Once you've got a task to do, it's better to do it than live with the fear of it.” is still my fav quote from the series. I just absolutely love this guy. (Sh*t I’m sorry guys this got longer than expected. Used up all my energy for Logen, I’ll try to keep the rest shorter.)
2-Nicomo Cosca. The famed soldier of fortune. My 3rd fav character. Woah, he was a straight up villain in this one. Seeing him from a different POV as an antagonist was very interesting. His fall from grace as he got older was brilliantly executed imo. Even though he wasn’t a nice person before, his charm and good wits and humour made him extremely likeable. Here he’s just a washed up old man trying to relive his glory days, caring less and less about everything else. His mercenaries were worse than animals, and he didn’t do anything to stop them despite Temple’s objections. All he cared about was that gold, and he was willing to do anything necessary to get it, even if it meant killing children. That last scene where there’s a standoff between him/friendly and Logen’s group, my heart was in my mouth. Temple beautifully exposed Cosca on that whole gold business. He just wanted all the gold “just because”, even Cosca couldn’t answer why. And then his anticlimactic and tragic death at the hands of Sworbreck was shocking and well deserved. I remember almost tearing up when he was about to die for Monza back in BSC. But here I didn’t feel anything but pity. Hats off to Joe Abercrombie’s writing here, one of the best characters I’ve seen in all of fiction.
3-Temple. His character development throughout the book was some of the best in the entire series, 2nd best only to Jezal’s progression imo. His POV and inner monologues were awesome. Temple went from repeatedly failing trying to be a better man, always ending up taking the easy way, to finally succeeding and taking the hard way when he was ready to sacrifice himself to Cosca to save those children, was amazing, just like how his mentor Haddish Kahdia did. He’s definitely one of the nicest characters in the series, and had some very wholesome moments. Him happily building Abram Majud’s house was so wholesome. One of the most heartwarming scenes in the book was when the entire fellowship is reunited under the roof of the house built by Temple, and they’re all partying and drinking there. Then when him and Shy finally made out, was a satisfying moment. Lamb’s reaction to that was hilarious, and Temple’s reaction to finding out that everyone knew what was going on between the two was even funnier. Him and Shy had some amazing chemistry. I was rooting for them right from the start when Shy found him half-drowned. And was so glad when they ended up together. Joe finally giving our characters a happy ending? A surprise to be sure, but a welcome one.
4-Shy South. I really liked her POV too. Her changing dynamics with Lamb were very interesting. Going from thinking of him as a coward to fearing him, and then eventually accepting him as her father that she never had. I chuckled when she started calling Lamb “his majesty” after learning he was King of the Northmen. She’s now my 4th fav female character in the series after Monza, Ferro, and Ardee. Her banter with Temple was top-tier lol. Shy and Temple made a really cute couple. I’m glad they got a Happily Ever After.
Honourable Mentions: •Caul Shivers. For some reason I just had that feeling that he’ll be in this one for sure, and I got soo excited when he appeared, and got reunited with Cosca and Friendly. He’s now officially the main character of these standalones for me, appearing in each one. Such an intriguing character. I’ve already talked about him so much in my previous posts, but I still can’t prevent myself from going into some details here. That last chapter was phenomenal. That Wild West standoff between him and Logen, Shivers looking at Logen’s new family realising that Logen is trying to be a better man. He was fully prepared to fight the Bloody-Nine, but at that point he decided to drop it. I think this was because he himself was trying to be a better man too back during BSC. He proved it here by forgiving Logen in a way, because he stopped trying to avenge his brother, and became a better man. An interesting thing to note was when Shivers looked at Ro, he saw hatred in her eyes. But ironically, Ro had hatred for Lamb and wanted Shivers to kill him. Shivers probably took that as hate for him, like if he had killed Logen, the cycle of hatred wouldn’t have ended, he thought maybe she’ll come after him later for revenge. This is what I gathered from that scene (btw no way Shivers could’ve killed him lol, the Bloody-Nine obliterates him 10/10 times). Another interesting thing, both Shivers and Logen had the Maker’s swords. In a way it also felt like a passing of the torch too, especially since Shivers has Logen’s former sword. Shivers is such a fascinating character. I already said it in my previous post, and I’ll repeat it again: Joe is cooking up something special with Caul Shivers. I think I’ll definitely see more of him in the next trilogy.
•Dab Sweet. Cool old dude. Really enjoyed his character throughout the story. Though he did do some shady stuff such as teaming up with the Ghosts, and inadvertently causing the death of Leef (ik he specifically told the Ghosts not to kill anyone, but he should’ve expected it). At least he somewhat redeemed himself at the end. That grand entrance with all the released horses running straight at Cosca’s men was absolutely brilliant. The hero finally lived up to the legend.
•The MayoCarlot dan Eider. I don’t think it was ever confirmed it was her but I always got that feeling from the start that this Mayor lady had to be someone we’ve known before, and Eider was the only one that came to my mind. My suspicions were raised when it was mentioned she had marks around her neck (thanks to Shylo Vitari), and finally confirmed when she came face to face with her old frenemy Cosca and had that brief conversation. Whenever something crazy is about to go down this lady is always present there lmao. I wonder if we’ll ever see her again.
•Iosiv Lestek. The man, the myth, the LEGEND. I remember he played Bayaz literally in front of the actual Bayaz back in TBI, and the First of the Magi was so annoyed lmao. And in RC, he did always claim his best performance was ahead of him. He played the Imperial Legate Sarmis to perfection, casually slapped Temple, and then made fools out of inquisitor Lorsen and Nicomo freakin Cosca himself LMAO. Saved the town, and Temple in particular. I guess this was him repaying his debt to Temple, who brought him into his own tent to give him a place to sleep. Temple’s kind-heartedness paid off at the end. Also, his line about appreciating happy endings more and more as he got older was beautiful, and fitting since Red Country did have the happiest ending compared to all the previous books.

Who in your opinion was the most effective Ghostface?
Here's my personal breakdown.
Billy gets points for almost getting away with Maureen's murder, and for being the mastermind of Scream (1996). However, he also failed to kill Dewey and Randy, one of whom was with a gun at point blank range. Plus he fell into the classic villain trap of needing to monologue, and even choosing to stab himself and Stu BEFORE taking care of Sidney. I believe his kills are Maureen, Casey, Himbry, and Tatum, bringing him to four successful kills and three failed kills (four if you count Sidney's father, five if you account for being about to shoot Gale before Sidney slips away).
Stu gets points for having two of the most tense chase scenes in the first film, but he also failed to kill Sidney during those two chases. Plus his failure to make sure Gale was dead was both his and Billy's ultimate undoing. I credit him with Steve and Kenny's deaths, bringing him to 2 successes and 3 failures.
Mickey is unique in that he never wanted to get away with it and was heavily implied to have already been an active serial killer prior to donning the mask. He basically succeeds in killing everyone he tries to kill, as its implied he injured Derek more to mess with Sidney and plant the seed of doubt in her mind that Derek was in on it. He only fails to kill Sidney and Gale, and also fails to realize Mrs. Loomis was playing him. Final count: 7 successful kills, 3 failures.
Mrs. Loomis succeeds in killing Randy (RIP), but apart from him, she has few likely successful kills as Mickey seemed to be the one who want to do the copycat kills while she prioritized the revenge plot. (She could be the one who killed Phil Stevens but it's hard to know Mickey was almost certainly the one who killed Maureen Evans while in Phil's jacket). Plus, like her son before her, she fails to kill Dewey, fails to kill Gale twice, and fails to kill Sidney. 1 successful kill (possible double points for killing a returning character), 4 failures.
Roman gets all the points for being the only solo Ghostface and therefore having the highest on-screen kill rate of all the killers. 9 kills overall (including killing Cotton who survived the first two movies), but he does ultimately fail to kill Sidney, Dewey, and Gale, leaving him with 9 successes and 3 failures.
Most people agree that Charlie did most of the killing in Scream 4, with him getting 8 of Ghostface's 10 kills. However, he failed to kill Kirby and also failed to realize Jill was going to betray him, which brings him to 8 successful kills and 2 failures, one of which cost him his life.
I personally think Jill killed the 2 police officers outside her house and killed her own mother but also acknowledge that the attack on Gale complicates things (I'm not gonna count that as a fail as it was implied that Jill wanted Gale to survive to be able to write about her). For sure, Jill successfully killed Trevor and Charlie; however, despite her whole plan hingeing on Sidney dying, she fails to make sure Sidney is dead. She then fails to kill Sidney again, and then fails to kill Gale, Dewey, and Judy Hicks when they come to the rescue. Points for effort but she gets only 2 successes and 5 failures.
Amber kills Dewey, who, in terms of surviving actual attacks, is almost harder to kill than Sidney. She also for sure kills Liv and probably kills Judy, another character who a previous Ghostface failed to kill. However, I'm unsure how many of her attempts to kill Tara were sincere or were just attempts to draw out Sam plus she fails to kill Chad, Gale, Sidney, and Tara at least once. 3 successful kills (double points for Dewey and Judy as returning characters) and 4+ failures.
Richie, despite Sam stating he "made his girlfriend do all the killing" seems to have been pretty equal, likely being the one to kill Vince, Wes, and the hospital security guard. Still, he fails to kill Mindy and then fails to kill Sidney, Gale, and Sam, despite all of them being pretty badly injured. 3 successful kills, 4 failed kills.
Jason the prologue killer gets one kill before being taken out. 1 successful kill, I'm not gonna say he failed to kill anyone else because he never got the chance.
Wayne (Richie's Dad) is implied to have killed Jason and his roommate, plus the three Bodega victims, as Ethan and Quinn were with Tara, Chad, Mindy, and Co at the Halloween parties / watching the news at their apartment. He still failed to kill Sam, Tara, and Kirby. Honestly, his attacking the sisters in public, while terrifying, makes very little sense for wanting to frame Sam. Even if the Bodega had no security footage, who were they gonna pin that attack on? Sam was there with Tara and Kirby wasn't a player yet. 5 successful kills, 3 failed kills.
Ethan is implied to have killed Sam's psychiatrist, Quinn's hook up in the bathtub, and Anika (RIP to the best GF). We do get a funny moment of retrospect since he helps Quinn fake her death, but that ultimately doesn't count toward or against either total. Still, he fails to kill Chad, Tara, Sam, and Mindy, even helping Mindy get medical attention after Quinn fails to kill her, which I didn't really understand. 3 successful kills, 4 failed kills.
Quinn is implied to have killed Gale's boyfriend, but ultimately failed to kill Gale herself and also failed to kill Mindy on the train and then failed to kill Chad, Sam, and Tara in the theater. 1 success, 5 failures+.
Overall, Roman, Charlie, and Mickey, seem to be the most successful killers when comparing successes vs failures. I do think it's kinda sad that most of the female Ghostfaces are sporting pretty bad averages. Amber has the highest kill count and even she has a bunch of failed attempts (seriously, Tara is made of iron for surviving 3 back-to-back attempts on her life).

So I finally got to have my second theater viewing of TFO last night at 10, had a solid audience too which surprised me I expected to be by myself. Round 2 was better than round 1, I wasn't in such a WTF mode and was picking the plot up better this time and it worked as well if not better than I remembered. It's like the first 3 movies in terms of working well on the repeat viewings, that's always been one reason why I always love the Omen series. This one's def in the higher ranking of my list than the lower :) Hope we get a sequel.
It did help to kill off some lingering questions but now I got new theories and ideas lol. Just wanted to see if anyone picked these up:

1. So the Italian chick that Margret rooms with.. is it me or is there more than meets the eye there? That monologue she has about hearing the "voice," made me think.. she must be either a loon like Baylock was or she's related in someway to the main nun. There has to be some reason why she's allowed to sleep around with no recourse from it. Part of my head think she's a sister to Margret but I don't think so on the otherside either. Hope she's back in part 2, I wanna see her get what she deserves.
   
2. The crazy nun chick.. what a mess she was lol. At first I was so confused by the crazyness of the movie that I thought she was the mom of the jackal, it was that pregnant girl Margret meets instead on 2nd watch lol. I never really picked up anything else on the crazy girl. The main nun says she was raised there her whole life, so that's the only thing I could understand out of it. Unless she just seen too much and was driven crazy. Maybe she's Carlita's mom? The one we see in the first few minutes that was begging them to stop. Coulda been so painful and extreme to her that it drove her nuts. The scene where she's sitting with her she might have been saying goodbye before showing her the drawing. That kiss scene was really wild too.. kiss of death.
   
3. Who do you all think survived the car crash besides Brennan and Marget, if any? Drive looks dead, but I lowkey hope the other Priest survived. He just looked knocked out laying on the passanger seat, the driver was mega effed up, poor guy.
   
4. One thing I'm wondering on which I hope we get some clues on in the sequel is, how many actual female babies survived the attempts? Brennan lets on there was more than what was in the files, so I'm sure there's more than 2 female/jackal hybrids out there in that world. I think if so the Italian chick has a good possiblity of being one, she has similar eyebrows to Margret just a little more fuller. Crazy chick maybe, but I think she just had a kid. Maybe it'll be a plot for a sequel where all the not soevil ones come together to stop the cabal of church people and find Damien maybe? That would be fun.
   

5. When the water breaks after that car wreck happens, I love the subtle ways that Margret acts like a Jackal, super underrated and a nice touch. Makes the scene so much more mesermising to watch. Wonder what the gore was that caused a NC-17? The c-section maybe?
>! 5. One twist I discovered from the climax I missed the first time.. that Sister Silva is more or less subtly implied to be Margret's mother. That "it's natural for a baby to bond with it's mother," line really convinced me of that, plus how she looks at her and acts right after before she gets her revenge on the cardinal. She's quietly quite proud of her. She's the older woman version of her mom. Plus I wouldn't be surprised if that was her holding her in the picture that Brennan has. It's why she took her in, she wanted her to be the birth mom along with the cardinal. They just gave up on Carlita for some reason. !<
6. I wonder if Brennan will be retconned in some way. In the OG movie he has severe cancer and was trying to make amends with god hence why he was informing Thorn about Damien, it was implied he was more deeply involved along with the preiest in the office, Spiletto who got a nice form of karma in the OG movie too. In this one they don't interact at at all. Also in this one he's ex-communicated and no longer a priest and he doesn't look or sound sick. So unless he gets a rapid cancer I see him being involved more. I'm curious to what they do with Spilletto and the italian chick. I guess she'll be out trying to hunt Margret down, that's what I'd bet on in a potential sequel. Even if Margret dies (hopefully not too early, I love her characther,) I hope she gets her back.

My country is one of the few nations that has mandatory military service. All able bodied male citizens get tested, drafted and serve a certain time in the armed forces (females can volunteer). Having said that, naturally army service isn’t for everyone. Excluding the medically accepted psychological and physical reasons, there is a also a sizable number of people who (for one reason or another) simply don’t want to. Those people can join civil protection, which is much more laid back. If someone is declared double unfit (unfit for military and civil protection) they simply have to pay some of their income every year to make up for it.
I was (long time ago) in charge of a company in recruit school. In general, most young men simply accept military service as their citizen duty. They come, „serve their time“ and then leave. Always with a new set of skills, often with new friends for life and mostly with better fitness and discipline. If someone is into it and wants to rise up the ranks, its like the cherry on top. But when this particular school started I got the opposite…a recruit called Klaus (not his real name). Klaus was a certified bastard and a moron. It was obvious that he really didn’t want to do his military service. It was equally obvious that he had been too dumb to be declared double unfit (see first paragraph), which isn’t hard. All he would have had to do is state during assessment that he refuses to serve and will cause massive problems. The recruiting division would have dumped him with little regret. He didn’t and became my problem.
Training Klaus was akin to bathing a cat. Though he was smart enough to know how to refuse complying without subjecting himself to disciplinary measures. In the end he would always do his assigned tasks. But his laziness, his bad attitude and disdain for the work itself, his instructors and even his comrades dragged the whole company down.
After about 6 weeks the solution presented itself. Klaus must have had learned from somewhere that becoming a firearms hating uber-pacifist would grant him early release. He came to me and rattled off a badly rehearsed monologue about how the army was a bunch of murderers (my country hasn’t fought a war in centuries), how just looking at firearms made him sick and that he was developing PTSD from firing them during training. There are positions in the armed forces where one can serve without a firearm and I should have tried to convince him to switch to one of those positions. But I didn’t want to burden another company commander. I wanted Klaus gone. But at the same time I wanted to have the ammo for payback, just in case the opportunity presented itself.
I had Klaus write his thoughts down and sign the papers, then I condensed it all into a single sheet and had him sign that one as well. Klaus was then put on cleaning duty until the personnel division decided one week later that he wasn’t worth the squeeze. Klaus was declared double unfit and rejoined 1st Civ Div. It would come back to bite him later.
Military service no longer occupies the same position within my country’s society as it did 50 years ago. But some employers still place value on it. One of them is the police. Military service for males is no longer required to become a police officer, but the police will be very curious about the reasons you didn’t serve. If you were declared unfit during assessment, it is fairly easy to simply put it down to you being young and immature. But getting kicked during basic training is a whole different story.
1 year after Klaus had left, a police agency contacted us. Klaus had applied to them and they were curious to know why he left during basic training. They were supplied with all the explanations they needed…and all where signed by Klaus. Klaus never became a cop. Not in that agency nor any other. How could he? Just looking at a gun gives him the creeps after all.
I received a very angry email from him shortly after he got rejected. I contemplated writing him back, but then realized that I was fresh out of pity.

hi guys, i started reading a book a while ago and never finished it, i don’t even know if it was a dream at this point because i’ve spent the last 30 min looking it up online.
the blurb was about two young gay boys, one of them has the power to take magic from the dead, and the other one somehow did the opposite. they don’t meet at first but find each other a bit in the book. the first chapter follows the first boy, he and his female crime partner (sister? cousin?) are running around an (post-apocalyptic?) cyberpunk city (i’m pretty sure it was london). they end up in an alleyway or empty building and the boy goes up to a dead or dying guy, it’s quite lucrative but he takes something magical from the guy. he monologues about how he’s not really supposed to do this, the magic takes from him as well, but it gives him energy or power or something and it’s worth it. the girl comments on him doing this, then they go back to their safe house they‘re staying at, where a female character who kinda helps run the place but isn’t the head person, asks them for the stuff that the head lady character asked them to go find. when i stopped reading they were talking about how the head lady gives them errands to run in return for shelter and protection…
if anyone has any guesses i’d love to hear it, recounting that felt like a fever dream but i thought the storyline was really interesting when i read it, and now i’m very sad i cant find it again :/.

Assessment Summary: OP is a 17-year-old female 12th grader who was referred for a psychological evaluation by her therapist. She reported current concerns with anxiety, mood, focus, and some symptoms consistent with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). On the WASI-II, OP's FSIQ score was 112 and above average. Thus, she seems bright and capable of maintaining academic success. She did not evidence any deficits with her verbal or nonverbal abilities.
CPT-3 results revealed moderate attentional problems, and symptoms of inattention and hyperactivity/impulsivity were reported at intake. Thus, she meets criteria for a diagnosis of ADHD combined presentation.
Results of the PAI-A indicate significant depression and anxiety symptoms. At intake, OP reported that she experiences daily anxiety about a variety of concerns. Given that her anxiety does not seem tied to one particular situation or trigger, a diagnosis of Generalized Anxiety Disorder is warranted. Additionally, at intake she reported experiencing distinct episodes of depression that occur about once per year and can last from 2-5 months. As a result, she meets criteria for a diagnosis of Major Depressive Disorder.
Lastly, at intake OP reported that she dificulty making and keeping friends, some difficulty conversing with others, some difficulty understanding sarcasm, difficulty with social rules and cues, a tendency to monologue when speaking with others, obsessive interests, difficulty coping with change, a preference for a daily routine, and sensory sensitivities to noise, touch, textures, and smells. Results of the SRS completed by OP placed her in the severe range, which is strongly consistent with an ASD diagnosis. Thus, a diagnosis of ASD, level 1, is warranted.

Hi all. I hope you are all having a Happy Thursday!
I’m not sure honestly, if it’s ok to ask this favour of you all, as it maybe taking resources away from a more deserving person or situation, or thing. So, if I’m being selfish in a way that’s not ok, please feel free to let me know.
… I’m in the early stages of my (mtf) transition, and I’m in a weird place where I don’t think that I look very masculine, facially (other people might not agree with that tho, to be honest, I’m not really sure as people trying to help by being positive and affirming maybe don’t always tell you the entire truth), but I don’t look very feminine either. Like occasionally I manage to just about achieve a make up look that allows me to see me in the mirror as me (her instead of him), but more often than not I see someone who looks like a dude with a face full of makeup, (thank the gods for good foundation tho, it definitely “softens” the face up a bit). Honestly im grateful to have been blessed with a fairly graceful and quite un-masculine frame from the neck down, but only from the neck down lol. I’m also struggling a lot bit with training myself to take the bass out of my voice and raise the pitch a little, to try and sound a bit more naturally feminine. I read something on a trans persons’s post somewhere about changing the voice that your inner-monologue or mental voice speaks with to a female voice, and the idea being that this makes it much easier to make your out loud voice do the same (I’m not sure honestly if that makes any sense to you all or if I’m just repeating nonsense), but I’ve been actively trying to do exactly that, however, while my internal voice now mostly speaks in a voice that “sounds” like the woman I am, when talking aloud, I really have to be be constantly consciously forcing myself to pronounce each word without the bass, and I’m struggling a tiny bit with progress on this. (Incidentally, I find it easier to speak in Italian or Spanish in a voice that sounds more naturally female than English, not sure why, haven’t analysed that much yet tbh). Anyway, the reason for this post and my overly long explanation (sorry!) is to ask if I may, if any of you have a any good vibes or spare energy or blessings from whichever beings/systems you practise with, that you could possibly channel into helping me to express my inner feminine self more in my physical appearance and voice?
I don’t mean to be selfish or out of line here, and I’m only asking for your help like this on the basis that I would not want to take any focus off of or take any blessing away from any of the millions of more urgent and more important situations or people that you may already be helping. I also do realise that I have to do work myself, in the sense that I have to actually make the change that I want to see, but I’d ed be grateful for any help you can offer, or even any advice.
Unfortunately, I don’t necessarily have anything to offer in return either, but will help any of you out in any way that I can.

I had been recommended this book several times for the last few months.So I decided to pick up the audiobook on audible.
Short summary: Our main character, Isolda and up going with her two older brothers and father, to attend the coming of age of the Princess in her kingdom. Isolda is made to wear a golden bell because of a superstitious story that fae might show up and attempt to steal away the Princess, but the Golden bell will instead draw their attention. It ends up coming true and our main character ends up being taken away.
I will leave it at dad, as to not spoil the actual plot.
The only good and actual interesting thing about this book, was that the author managed to capture the strangeness and inhuman nature of the fae and their realm. They are definitely the more creepy and dangerous fae, which I really liked.
However, that is where the good about this book ends. The writing itself felt very dry, if that makes sense. There wasn’t really any in-depth, lush and beautiful descriptions. Sometimes things were written so vague that I couldn’t really visualise what the author was talking about. I also found the dialogue between our female protagonists and the MMC to be really Kranji. And honestly, I didn’t really understand how romance blossomed between them-because I felt like there was no chemistry and it kind of came out of nowhere toward the end of the book.
But what I disliked the most about this book, was our main character. Isolda is very much “not like other girls“. She spends most of her inner monologue throughout the book, looking down at all the women and girls around her. She keeps mentioning how dumb, naive, ignorant and trivial they are for enjoying things like parties, chatting amongst themselves, wanting happy marriages. Even at one point, she finds their laughing to be ridiculous and vapid. At the same time, she keeps mentioning how practical she is and uses that in a way to make herself feel better than them, more superior and smarter.
All inall, I don’t feel like I will be continuing the series.
