I’m on focalin XR 15mg, problem is it only lasts ~8 hours and I get this massive crash where I get super depressed and tired when it wears off. It makes me not want to take it anymore. Does this ever get better as your body gets used to it? I think I’ve been on it about a week now

Why did this happen? I started Vyvanse yesterday. 10mg. I always need low and slow titrations on meds.
Day 1 was perfection. Even up and down, no side effects, no hard crash. Exact amount of energy and focus I was looking for.
But....
Day 2 now is a total flop. No energy. Slight focus. Tired. Irritable. Napping midday.
Is this normal when starting a stimulant?
I had the same tea both mornings. I didn't sleep super well the 1st night (last night) between doses. 2nd day I took my vitamins/zertec with it vs 1st day I took my vitamins 1 hour after the stimulant.
Thoughts about why it's such a drastic difference? TIA!

Hey y’all! So recently started my medication journey. I was taking adderall 5mg 3x daily but that gave me so much anxiety I felt like a different person. Have now switched to Focalin XR 10mg 1/day and have been feeling unable to eat when I’m on it. I can only take a few bites before I feel like I’m going to puke if I eat anything more. Does anyone have any tips for this?? If I don’t eat my anxiety gets worse so I need to figure something out 🙃 Thanks in advance y’all!!

I just recently got diagnosed at 21, and have never taken antidepressants/stimulants before except for adderall a couple times.
My doctor prescribed me 20mg Vyvanse XR and 75mg Welbutrin which I have been taking for about two weeks now. The initial headaches and dry mouth from the Wellbutrin went away by now but I felt like it wasnt doing anything for me.
The vyvanse feels like its barely working, it helps with my executive dysfunction a fair bit and I am able to do the little admin tasks like emailing, calendar scheduling, filing timesheets, organizing etc.
I still feel like I get distracted/trouble staying on task where focus is actually needed (academic/creative work) and during class.
To these effects, my doctor told me to double both my meds to 40 mg XR and 150 mg Welbutrin.
The issue here is that I feel a bit overwhelmed on the Vyvanse, my heart rate goes up, and I feel anxious. I was supposed to take two Vyvanse pills today but was scared to take the second one because of this issue. Has someone been through this, can give me advice? Adderall also has this effect on me, the crash is worse but I feel more dumbed down/robotic on vyvanse? My friends are able to tell the difference as I am more locked in, my personality feels duller.

I'm a 41yo mom, and I have struggled with executive functioning for years. It felt like I got pregnancy/mommy brain (with my first pregnancy 11 years ago) and then it just never went away. My daughter was diagnosed with ADHD a few months ago, and many of the questions her psych asked about her seemed like they also applied to me. I know that I was much more functional prior to having children - but I also avoided or quit anything that was particularly hard, and dug hard into extreme organization. Now, I feel like my brain is fractured, constantly jumping between all the things I have to handle for my kids and my family, and I struggle to mentally settle down.
I was officially diagnosed with ADHD myself about a month and a half ago, but I haven't found a med that seems to make a difference. I started on Concerta, but it gave me a spectacular migraine on the second day and a constant low-grade headache (manageable but never went away) on the second day, so I stopped taking it (and the migraine was bad enough that I don't even know if it helped with focus). How many meds should I try before I give up on this?

I want to be clear that I am referring to the cognitive benefits of the medication and not a particular feeling. I also take 2 days off on the weekends. Along with a week off every 3-4 months. I dont necessarily notice a difference in the duration of effectiveness when I do this.
In general I know I have a really fast metabolism. I can eat whatever I want and not gain a pound. I’ve always been like this. I just burn through everything. Even ibuprofen.
I’m working with a new psychiatrist to try and work the kinks out. Was interested in seeing if anyone’s been down this road before.
I avoid acidic foods and have plenty of protein with breakfast. Drink lots of water and get my normal 7 hours of sleep.

I've recently been diagnosed and have been on Focalin XR for about a month now. It has been rough, and I'm worried that my habits are limiting the effectiveness of the drug.
I have cut back significantly on caffeine and alcohol intake, and have not done anything else like weed or other drugs since starting meds (except for Zyn, which I use several times a day). Does anyone have experience with substances like nicotine or small amounts of caffeine or alcohol severely limiting the effects of their ADHD meds? I'm having a really hard time adjusting to the medication and using these other substances occasionally really helps me take the edge off but if it's severely hindering the effectiveness of the drug I will make an effort to stop.
Also, does anyone have a resource or tips on consistently doing other things that will enhance the medication's effectiveness (getting good sleep, drinking a lot of water, eating a lot, keeping a schedule, etc)? I have a lot of trouble with that too.

I have been on/off ADHD meds for almost the last two years with mixed success (I was not diagnosed before that), and I’m coming to a bit of a crossroads and wondering what the best way forward is.
I’ve had the most success with Adderall IR (20mg total) in that it really helps with motivation and getting things done around the house and at work, but I feel like I lose a bit too much of my personality and this can hold back my connection with my wife most importantly. I’ve noticed this because in some short periods of being off it I’m just more enjoyable to be around and connection happens way easier. With my kid, it’s a little harder to be patient and I’m less spontaneous than I’d like to be, but overall it’s fairly manageable and a plus is that I’m better at problem solving kid issues now.
I’ve already tried Vyvanse generic (which was kind of awful for me TBH), Adderall XR (couldn’t sleep) and Wellbutrin (felt very depressed after starting it). So I feel like my options are down to Ritalin or Straterra. I’m talking to my psych about Ritalin this week, but I’m not super hopeful and honestly feeling like meds just might not be worth the downsides for me. I don’t feel like I’m a train wreck without meds, but I have seen enough benefit mostly with career advancement and better personal organization/decision making that I feel it’s worth the trial and error..as long as I don’t have to sacrifice much of my personality for it.

My experience with Focalin has been pretty negative so far. At 10mg I experienced all the side effects that I had heard that I might - headaches, tunnel vision, bouts of fatigue, irritability, initial euphoria, etc. Now that I've been on 20mg XR for about a week, I'm not having those side effects but things just... aren't what I was expecting. The euphoric, energetic, motivational effect that I get 45 minutes after taking it is great, but that lasts for only 2-4 hours. After that I crash and often have to take a nap. Even while I am having the positive effects, I don't get much done, it just feels like a mood booster more than anything, and I really don't want to feel like I'm using a drug recreationally. I very much want to feel what I've heard people talk about - The peaceful, quieted thought process, the clear thinking, the focus, and an easier path to achieve things that I've never felt like I could...
Anyway, all this is to say, my response to the medication makes me think that maybe I don't have ADHD after all. Has anyone had this experience? What did you do?

But back to the Adderall… The morning dose seems to be extremely strong one day, and then not as much the next day. The second dose affects me differently each day. For example, today it put me to sleep, but did wonders for me yesterday.
I’ve tried to track how I take it (w/food, w/out food, etc.) but I’m totally stuck. Does this happen to anyone else? Any ideas on what I could try to make it more consistent?

I have a couple mental health condition including depression, anxiety, ocd, and adhd. I have tried a ton of medications in the last 10 years or so that either only worked for a short time or have given me bad side effects. So far I've been on Prozac, Zoloft, Celexa, Lexapro, Propranolol, Clonidine, Clonazepam, Adderall XR, Adderall IR, Clomipramine, Effexor, Wellbutrin XR, Vyvanse, Hydroxyzine, Naltrexone and Buspirone. I've had some weird side effects from some medications like tremors and involuntary limb movements along with all the normal stuff like weight gain, sweating, sexual dysfunction and dry mouth. I'm pretty sure the clomipramine even gave me the very beginnings of serotonin syndrome.
My psychiatrist has been amazing and is very knowledgeable. Im worried he thinks im being picky when i come in saying im experiencing a side effect and asking to switch. He is always willing to work with me, giving me several options and letting me pick which medication I am most comfortable with trying. The only problem is that I feel guilty, like I am a difficult patient to treat. Some people are successful with their first medication but I am not that lucky. Has anyone else ever felt like this?

I just hooked up my ClearStream MAX -XR just for a test, it's not up in my attic yet just sitting on the bedroom floor, and it gets some decent channels, not 6ABC which I suspected, and some other channels are spotty. I am going to attic mount it this weekend which I am hoping will improve reception a little bit. I also do not have an LTE filter or amplifier installed yet, both have been ordered and are on the way.
Just curious, can people familiar with these antennas say whether or not the 4max is worth the extra $70?

Last year I got a great deal on a used set of steelhead XR irons and have been enjoying them. Locally, there's a pretty solid sale on Cobra Aerojet irons- 42% off. Would I notice much of a difference between sets if I picked up the Aerojet irons? I know the lofts are a bit different, but curious if it would be worth the upgrade. thanks!

Looking for a new helmet to replace my old one. Already have a bump and now looking at an ops core XR vs SF. The price right now between the two is only about $200 in difference. I know the XR is v50 rated and haven’t seen too many reviews about it and watching the YouTube video.

Looking at Onward pricing, it is $5000 more for an XR lithium cart vs. the standard FLA batteries. Has anyone just gotten the FLA version and done a lithium upgrade separately? It must be way cheaper and I would imagine you could get better range than the XR version Club Car offers.

What time of yeaholiday yields the best deals. The X90L is currently at $1,600 how low could it reasonably go down if at all?
I also heard the X85K has a worse processor, the X1 vs the XR. So gaming isn't real 4k 120fps. Is that true? Is it even noticeable? Should I save money or be 100% secure with the X90L?

In a nutshell - Trigen Generic for all the shit people talk, really wasn't that bad compared to my Day 1 on generic focalin xr. Dude I felt nasty, headachy, symptoms were worse, I felt jittery and fatigued at the same time, just not good.
For anyone that successfully found their sweet spot with compatible formulation - did you have side effects that you had to get through or did it just work immediately and you dialed in from there?
Any commentary appreciated.
