Hej jeg står i en lorte situration og håber at få svar… Jeg har over de seneste 4 måneder arbejdet som sælger hos et inkasso firma, eller nærmere sagt et søster firma til firmaet (salg af deres produkter) Når det generelt kommer til telemarketing ved de fleste nok godt at det hele er lidt wolf of wallstreet vibes, og meget ind og ud. jeg fik simpelthen “red flags” fra starten, og det har bidt mig lidt i røven nu. Jeg var den eneste pige sammen med 3 mænd (de har allesammen arbejdet i det store firma siden de var helt unge) Anyways, jeg har haft en del sygedage, men jeg leverede stadigvæk resultaterne. ham den ene chef er definitionen af en stodder (27år) og det skal lige siges jeg er 22, men historien er den at han har været virkelig upassende og prøvet virkelig hårdt hver gang der var lidt alkohol på kontoret, i sidste uge fik jeg nok og sagde med et smil på læben “fyrer du mig hvis jeg giver dig en flad?” Hvorfra han svarer ja, kort efter går alle ned til en smøg hvor han så siger “du ved godt jeg kan fyrer dig hvis jeg har lyst ikk? Skal bare sige til direktøren jeg ikke kan lide dig” og jeg var bare sådan haha ok (han har en kæreste såvel og jeg gider ikke ligge en metoo sag når jeg i forvejen er lidt nederst i hiarkiet) Så her i mandags kommer jeg dagen efter jeg havde været syg og får et bortvisning, frem for en fyring, hvilket jeg var chokeret over da jeg “bare” har meldt mig syg, skal lige siges jeg har haft halsbetændlese og ualmindelig meget stress men er stadig mødt på arbejdet så jeg ku “levere” da jeg fik advarsel på advarsel. Jeg får afvide af direktøren at fordi stodderen bliver salgschef så må han vudere om jeg må blive, han siger selfølgelig nej efter vi diskutere lidt frem og tilbage og kalder på direktøren, og direktøren siger at jeg ikke får en kr af min løn da jeg har fået en bortvisning. Kan huske da jeg skulle skrive under på kontrakten spurgte jeg dumt “hvad er forskellen på en bortvisning og en fyring? Hvorfra de jokede med “en bortvisning er hvis du maler graffiti på væggen eller slår en ned” … Jeg sagde de ikke har ret til at fyrer mig på baggrund af en sygemelding og de svarede “det gør vi ikke det ulovligt” men bare 5 dage før det fik jeg i og å så meget ros og fik afvide jeg skulle være salgschef når firmaet blev lidt større bla bla bla. Jeg ved at firmaet er i dybt underskud, da jeg var den ENESTE udover de 3 chefer, da alle kom lidt ind i 2-3 dage og så sagde op, men min problematik er ikke så meget arbejdet, men det faktum at jeg ikke får de 25 k + provi, har jo i princippet arbejdet gratis. Har betalt HELE sidste månedsløn af til et indskud i min nye lejelighed, jeg har søgt lignende stillinger og er blevet kaldt til samtaler, men har jeg mulighed for en enkeltydelse hos Kommunen hvis jeg forklarer min situration? Kan ikke få depositumet men finder heller aldrig en bolig til samme prisklasse, det seriøst min DRØMMEBOLIG for så vel at sige, at jeg er sikret job fra næste måned af.. Har taget et Er simpelthen så ked af det over siturationen, da jeg endu dummere end hvad jeg er ikke har en fagforening. Det var virkelig en usund arbejdsplads og jeg ved bare jeg ikke er den første der er blevet udsat for lignende, føler mig så dum og udnyttet…

I’ve been working at Sephora for 2 years and a few months, the longest job I’ve had considering I’m very picky for the company I choose to work for. Starting at Sephora my dream was to make it to corporate. I began as a coordinator and wanted to become a lead and I was about to get the promotion but something just hit me and once I started seeing how bad Sephora is as a company to their workers was insane. The company I so looked up to just kept going down….and down….and down. I’m despise going into work now because of the way they keep throwing everything at their employees. Not to mention now I’m an ops girlie and ops is the only reason the stores are making it rn with sales yet we’re treated like absolute filth. We get paid the worst and our gratis???? Me and my coworkers got like 4 things to order for June like wtf?? I hate working for this company, thank god I have my college degree and can now put it to use and not be pathetic low lives as these “managers” who are set on this being their careers. They say they’re your friends and wanna help you yet they literally take advantage of you and stab you in the back. I’m over this job. We all deserve better. And trust me, corporate side of Sephora is just as bad.

Ok, so I just got Chip and Jesus Christ this dude really be doing way too much. He can really come at you with his skill 2, then stun you with his skill 1, then combo that into ultimate and now all of a sudden here comes his whole team to gang gang gang gang on your booty meat por gratis. That's not even taking into account his teleportation or passive healing. It's fitting that the avatar of laziness be a braindead facesmash character but oh my god this mofo is mad busted.
I'd be hard stuck in Epical Immortal if I ain't had this MF. But I do, so I'll almost certainly be in Mythic by the end of the season. It doesn't matter what the team comp is. Last time I had two mid laners because nobody wanted to go EXP so I did that job for like the first five minutes and we still won. It doesn't matter who the enemies are either because this dude is deadass a hard counter to anything, all you gotta do is combo, get your homies in, get out, eat chips, ffs you don't even have to recall.
Now, I suck balls at this game. On god I do. I die all the time. But I lock in Chip and I'll maybe die twice max as a result of just me getting too greedy thinking I got an S on my chest, which with this character, I might as well. I just pick a pro build with like a 95% win rate, go in, and proceed to almost win every game myself and get like 20 assists and five kills in 10 minutes because that's how facesmash this MF is. It's not even that I'm that good. I'm not. I'm just playing this remedial ass character.
And nobody ever bans him. It's VERY RARE that I see Chip actually get that ass banned. People are literally more likely to ban Layla (my Gold main) than they are to ban Chip. You could probably lane against Chip with Estes, Harley and Yin all on your team and that MF will still find a way to go Super Saiyan 10 Poder Prohibido by the end of the game.

Pe de alta parte, cifrele lor de afaceri se ridica la ~500k si ~2M euro, cu un profit evident mult mai mic (~350k euro doar pe anul trecut), restul fiind cheltuieli legate de "prestarea serviciilor" (mai putin de 50% din ele), iar celelalte probabil cheltuieli fictive cum ar fi investitii pe persoana juridica (e.g. imobiliare, leasing, chirii etc) => deci pe scurt au activitatea impartita pentru a optimiza fiscal si isi vand unii altora interesele (conflict de interese). Totusi cum se poate sa ai cheltuieli de 1.7M euro si sa nu oferi ABSOLUT NIMIC = ZERO pentru contractori (ca angajati nu exista)??? cat de cacanar sa fii?

Am fost contactat recent de catre ei in vederea unor proiecte pe b2b. Se prezentau ca fiind niste baieti chiar profesionisti, aveau cuvintele la indemana si daca nu m-as fi gandit de doua ori i-as fi crezut pe cuvant. In primul rand vor oferi mereu numai forma de colaborare b2b (nu accepta CIM), asta pentru ca asta va fi cea mai avantajoasa pentru ei => responsabilitati minime, optimizare fiscala (both sides), si bineinteles pot scapa de tine oricand, in caz ca o dai in bara, fara sa aiba vreo constrangere. In al doilea rand iti spun in fata si iti permit ca proiectele pe care lucrezi la ei sa fie un secondary job, iar asta inseamna bineinteles ca ei factureaza 8 ore clientului , in timp ce tu lucrezi oricat de putin atat timp cat reusesti sa iti gati task-urile.
Pana aici pare destul de win-win right? Pai da, insa problema e ca win-ul nu il vei avea tu, ci ei. Tie iti spuneau una, si cand colo vor face alta pentru a scoate profit de pe tine. Ti-au dat doar o iluzie care e in capul tau, ca s-ar merita. Rate-urile in general sunt destul de infecte avand un range intre 18-30 euro pe ora, de la pozitii mid in sus (bineinteles tu vei fi vandut la final ca si senior sau chiar principal clientului). Clientul in schimb ofera pentru tine in jur de 60 de euro sau mai mult. Da, pare foarte atractiv evident pentru ei, pentru ca e munca ieftina comparativ cu ce e in vest si totusi clientul are asteptari mari.
Bun, let's say you made the pact with the devil si ai acceptat => well, de aici in colo esti pe cont propriu. Firma lor efectiv a incheiat orice forma de comunicare si intermediere cu tine. Nici macar HR nu au. Adica, pe scurt, tot ce se va intampla e ca banii ii vei primii intradevar conform facturarii tale lunare catre PandvisoAbit (da, vei primi banii pentru care ai semnat), insa nu vei mai primi nici un fel de ajutor vreodata, nici un fel de suport (e.g. feedback, echipament, spatiu de munca la birou), nici un training, nici o investitie de orice fel, nici macar un singur BUNA ZIUA din partea echipei profesionale PandvisoAbit. Asa de mult ii va durea in c*r de tine. Singurul interes al lor va fii ca gata, au semnat, ei isi iau banii bine mersii, iar tu lucrezi de te spargi si te dealui cu restul stresului si inclusiv cu clientul final. Eventual singura discutie pe care o sa o mai ai cu ei e atunci cand inchei colaborarea sau indraznesti sa ceri o schimbare de rate, discutie care sigur nu iti va placea.
Intre timp ei vor lua in fiecare ora muncita de tine cel putin 30-40 de euro de pe tine, deoarece ei sunt profesionisti, care presteaza "CONSULTANTA" in IT. (bineinteles ca tu si restul contractorilor prestati consultanta, ci nu ei). Si da, e frustrant, si e aberant si e efectiv strigator la cer ca sa stiu ca eu contribui la imbogatirea nesimtita a cuiva (uneori cu mai mult de 2x din cat castig), in timp ce nu primesc nici macar un salut. Macar la corporatie mi se da un buna ziua si am voie sa ma duc la birou sa mananc o prajitura la un party. Rolul celor de la ABIT/Pandvisor este total inexplicabil nici din punct de vedere al business-ului, si as indrazni sa spun ca nici macar LEGAL. Sunt efectiv doar in plus, nu aduc nici macar un serviciu societatii, economiei etc. Ei doar exista si intre tine si client, precum niste paraziti in stomacul unei bovine si castiga de pe spatele tau continuu. Deci da, tu muncesti si tii in spate proiecte intregi => dar ei o duc bine si nu te vor mai contacta vreodata, singurul beneficiu fiind faptul ca "te-au pus in legatura" cu acel client. Atat.
OK revenind inapoi la munca. Totul bine si frumos pana cand iadul vine in momentul in care clientul incepe sa se intrebe unde e return of investment-ul lui. Incepe sa se sperie, incepe sa dispere, si bineinteles sa faca pressing zilnic. Va ajunge clientul sa iti bage de vina in fata ca el plateste un senior profesionist, poate chiar ajunge sa iti spuna direct cati "bani" da el pentru tine celor de la ABIT/Pandvisor, iar tu nu reusesti sa te ridici la "asteptarile" sale.
Evident, din moment ce clientul plateste pentru tine mai mult de dublu din cat primesti, lui nu ii pasa ce negociezi tu cu firma intermediara. Deci practic tu muncesti pentru cat esti platit, iar clientul cere sa i se munceasca pentru cat a platit. Eh aici mi se pare corect ca ar trebui sa vina responsabilitatea firmelor intermediare de "outsourcing" (mascat => generare de bani pe activitati fictive pe spatele oamenilor). Ei ar trebui sa medieze intre tine si client. Fie sa ceara mai putin clientului, fie sa te plateasca pe tine mai bine si sa te faca sa fii motivat ca sa produci. Pana la urma, tu ca si contractor nu ai nici o vina, pentru ca probabil ai acceptat sa vii intr-o pozitie destul de chilluta (2ndary job) si platita cu 18-30 de euro, adica ceea pentru ce ai semnat.
OK zis si facut => daca patim asa, hai sa mergem la intermediarii care se declara fiind firma profesionista de outsourcing si hai sa ii rugam sa pe ei sa medieze treaba
=> Dar ce sa vezi, din partea celor doi samsari (ca altcumva nu stiu cum ii pot numi): Ciprian Ilies si Adrian Draghici, care au 2 firme cu activitati impartite si incrucisate (aka. conflict de interese), si care presteasca activitati fictive de consultanta si dezvoltare software => defapt nu au angajati, ci doar pe subcontractorii lor presteaza servicii. Pana la urma ca sa aplaneze situatia, cei doi vor intra cu intimidare si ton agresiv cu tine in call si iti vor spune ca ei defapt au situatia sub control si defapt chiar au discutat cu clientul ca e momentul ca tu sa primesti o "marire" si ca "vor aplana ei situatia". In continuare, ei isi vor face timp ca sa gaseasca cat mai curand un inlocuitor pentru tine, urmand ca rapid sa fii pus in preaviz "NEPLATIT", pentru ca ei nu vor mai avea "comenzi" de munca de la tine. De unde stiu asta? Evident, de la client, care nu s-a sfiit sa imi spuna in fata, desi cei de la ABIT nu au facut-o inca. Deci in cele din urma, daca nu sunt multumiti, veti ajunge fara loc de munca ASAP, deoarece nu sunt curiosi sa va ajute. Ce vor face e sa gaseasca un alt fraier si sa promita marea si sarea acelui client. Totusi in cazul meu s-a incheiat fericit cazul, pentru ca mi-am dat direct demisia si am gasit un alt contract foarte soon, nu am stat pe ganduri.
In the end, clientii lor sunt niste sarlatani de asemenea, sunt genul de oameni care ar dori sa le faca skip cu prima ocazie. Si de asemenea sunt genul de oameni care vin la tine cu tot felul de propuneri care par tentante, incalcand contractul cu ABIT/Pandvisor, ca mai apoi sa te parasca tot lor si sa scape de tine. De asemenea, daca cei de la ABIT/Pandvisor aud cumva ca vrei sa le dai skip si vrei sa faci contract direct cu clientul final (desii amandoi ati fii de acord), te vor ameninta cu datul in judecata si ca trebuie sa platesti o suma giganta de bani, si de asemenea inca o suma colosala o va plati si clientul pentru aceasta "incalcare" de NDA. Asta nu e normal sa fie ceruta unui muncitor. Si totusi e cam penibila amenintarea, pentru ca orice comisie care ar investiga situatia in instanta nu vor accepta clauze de genul. Insa totusi te vor ameninta, din cauza ca le tremura chilotii de frica sa nu isi piarda clientii.
Deci concluziile mele sunt:
-nu acceptati rate-uri mizere doar pentru ca sa castigati inca 18 euro, e penibil, investiti-va timpul in ceva mai intelept sau intr-un proiect platit normal, fara intermediere de mana a 4-a cum fac acesti samsari.
-evitati cu orice pret Pandvisor si Abit, pentru ca sunt niste firme conduse de niste tepari de 25-30 de ani care se pozeaza a fi profesionisti, cand de fapt nu ofera nimic
-daca puteti, dati-le skip si contactati direct clientii finali, spunandu-le adevarul ca PandvisoAbit nu ofera absolut nimic pentru banii platiti si faceti-le oferte benefice on both sides: Ei platesc mai putin, voi castigati mai mult.
-cititi contractele de 2-3 ori inainte sa le semnati, ca sa nu va treziti cu clauze halucinante si apoi sa va poata da in judecata.
-as fi un om cam rau, insa eu cred ca merita inclusiv sa se faca rant pe linkedIn pe paginile celor 2 firme si pe "oportunitatile" minunate postate de catre acestia.
Am vorbit cu mai multi din comunitatea reddit care au fost contractori la ABIT/Pandvisor si au confirmat (nu ofera laptop, nu ofera antivirus, nu ofera onboarding, nu ofera training/cursuri etc, nu ofera nimic), si am ajuns la concluzia ca trebuie sa postez pentru a-mi usura sufletul. Cu riscul ca voi lua downvote la greu, nu cer simpatia si atentia nimanui, va dau doar un sfat de la un batran trecut prin viata, mai departe faceti ce vreti. Nu mai lucrati be bani de nimic. Nu va mai luat contracte la mana a 15-a, nu mai incurajati traiul pe gratis pe spatele vostru al unor intermediari nesimtiti, pentru ca ati muncit si munciti o viata, iar fara voi mizeriile acestea nu ar exista. Nu merita sa le oferiti nimic din efortul vostru.

Ich bräuchte Ratschlag darüber wie ich ein besserer Mensch werde und meine Ausbildung und Einkommen erhöhe, sowohl höhere Chancen beim Bewerbungsgespräche kriege(legal).

Ich hab nicht viel darüber nachgedacht was ich in der Zukunft machen will.
Ich war an Elektrotechnik und Programmierung interessiert.
Sehr informiert war ich aber nicht. Ich dachte Programmierung war für Genies, und ich bin/war kein genie ,ich konnte nicht mal leuten vornamen merken.
Deswegen versuchte ich lehre als elektrotechniker zu finden war aber schon jahr ende und fand keine.
wollte kein freies Jahr machen deswegen entschied ich an die htl zu bewerben,hatte gute noten außer deutsch(4) so es war leicht reinzukommen.
htl reingekommen,war ich überrolt und konnte nicht verbessern,jeder war von gymnasiums und ich war von nms.
Ich war in 3Fächern durchgefallen,ich wechselte zu fachschule in dem selbenjahr wo ich 2 in jedem fach erholt habe wodurch mein endnote 4 er wahr und musste den Jahr nicht wiederholen.
Jahr 2 Ich hab programmieren als hobby begonnen durch visualscripting und kleinere java codes die ich vom internet umgeschrieben habe begonnen. Einzelne noten waren 1,2,3. Hobby Projekte nahmen wochen ,wenn nicht monate mit meinem wenig zeit und verständnis es hat aber irgendwie spaß gemacht auch wenn ich 90% der zeit bugs korrigierte. Mitte des Jahres hab ich bemerkt das Programmieren viel mehr Spaß und Freiheit bietet Elektrotechnik,manche meiner kollegen haben umgewechselt. Meine Familie war nicht finanziell stabil damals bzw ist heute noch deswegen dachte ich dass es besser wäre diese bildung zu abschließen damit die 2 jahre nicht umsonst sind,und meine familie finanziel unterstützen kann weil die immer wieder von bekannten borgten.
3jahr noch bessere noten,programmieren immer noch hobby machte einige kleinere anwendungen,spiele mit engine wie gameMaker and Godot.
4jahr 2praktikum ,abschlussarbeit,schule hatten nicht viel zeit für hobbys gelassen.
BOOM COVID, es wurde einiges abgesagt oder verschoben.Wie die sps kurs die nur 400 kosten hätte die ich machen wollte. Abgeschlossen!
Danach hab ich 100 von bewerbungen versendet,bekam aber nicht immer eine antwort. Rufe an hallo?,die sagen das verantwortliche dafür für ka bsp vor zwei wochen gefeuert wurde oder die stelle nicht mehr gibt. Es war eine sehr frustrierende zeit.zum glück hatte ich mein hobby.
Ich startete python zu lernen,kleinere projekte in gd script.
1Jahr nach meinem Job-Jagd fand ich einem Job in einem Plastikfabrik als Eplan Zeichner in einem abgelegenen ort , schlecht bezahlt ,die sagen gut bezahlt,job ist job .Ziehte dort ,verkaufte an auto an eltern weil kein parkplatz,etc.Bin nicht so gut in eplan,software hangt die ganze zeit,kp bis heutzutege wieso computer war top,später ging es weg meist so es muss wann an dem software gelegen worden sein,software langsam ich war langsam ein projekt hinten ,konnte nicht nachholen,weil meine plannungskünnste nicht die besten wären und ich keine ahnung vom aufbau des schrankes hatte,es ran 24/7 konnte nicht mal nachlaufen, monteure weiß auch nicht mehr ,bzw plannen dauert länger als arbeit weil ich meist ganzen plan neu machen musste weil es 20-30 jahre alt waren und schon zerfällten,die schickten mir vor ein anderes anlage komplett zu dokumentieren außer extruder,solange bauten die eine extruder,wir vergaßen dem und plan fehlte für dem, entlassungschreiben kam. Am Ende hab ich alles beendet aber nur weil ich keine neue projekts bekam und endlich monteur zeit hatte um es erneuert den aufbau zu erklären.
Kein Arbeit,traurig ,gebe mir wegen plannung&geschwindigkeit schuld,auch wenn das programms geschwindigkeit und das forgesetzen befehl auch eine rolle spielte ,hätte ich alles richtig gemacht würde in ein anderes werk übernommen worden,****,****,sehr viel eis und chinesichen fast food später....
ich suche job,3 monate vergehen 20+ Bewerbungsgespräche später immer noch nichts.
kriege depression wieder,hilflosigkeit überfüllt mich. Familien bekannte erzählt von einem AMS finanzierten Iniative called Codersbay ,das ein wenig staaterkannt ist und vom ams gefördert werden kann. AMS gibt mir ok,ein monat später fange an ,hab noch nie java benutzt ,lerne aber schnell wegen allgemeinen ähnlichkeiten haben.Später projekt sind hart lehrer nehmen punkte ab wenn ich denen frage ,klassenkameraden hab ich alle rausgeflogen oder aufgegeben,ich hab alle java projrekte richtig in der zeit gemacht aber mein webseite war nicht mobile freundlich und lehrer gab es mir nur letzte woche ,deswegen flog ich raus von vorqualifierung,die sagten es war knapp aber gaben mir keine chanche es verbessern.
kriege depression wieder,hilflosigkeit überfüllt mich,dieses mal hart,gehe 3 mal pro woche all you can eat buffet weil motivation auf 0 ist.Hörte auf wegen Herz schmerzen Suche alternative Lehre,verkürzte abschluss ams berater sagt ok durch aqua ,wenn ich partner finde.Suche ,rufe,bewerbe 200+ bewerbungen später,immer noch nix,monate vergehen,starte bfi kurs find your job half mir auch nicht,
es klickt endlich ,das der grund wieso ich nich genommen werde oder praktikum machen kann weil mein wissen will zu wenig ist ,starte mysql und php zu lernen. muss noch denen beenden und angular,typescrip,javascript,etc lernen später damit ich mindestens praktilum machen kann.
Dauer 1 Monat wenn ich 16 Stunden vor dem Computer lerne,hab berechnet,4 wenn ich wirklich gut will.
AMS bezahlt noch 13 monate so technisch gesehen möglich,aber ich mache immer sorgen zum Beispiel:wird mich das praktikum eine stelle besorgen,was wenn nicht muss ich zu meinem eltern zurück ziehen, was wenn ich zu meinem eltern zurück ziehe und starte apps zu developen ,nein viel zu viel risk,kann ich nicht mich selbst finanzieren, um staaterkannter programmierer zu werden ,JA/NEIN,brauche 36k und schule die mich nimmt. Wird mich das aber eine stelle besorgen.Ich bin schon daran jeden job zu nehmen ich fühle mich inerlich sterben ,versuche so viel bewegung wie möglich in mein altagsleben einzubringen. zb stundentliche turnübungen etc. Momentan hab brauche ich mind 10k for Plan D, Plan C ist Praktikum und mehr Wissen anschaffen.
ich hab ein portfolio erschaffen ,hab aber noch keine apps darauf nur programme in java und php
ich lerne meist von gratis kursen udemy ,codeacamy and w3school.
Falls du irgenwelche ideen hast um meine chanchen zu verbessern oder tipps zu geben,bin ich darüber erfreut.

This is the last post I will make in my infamous series of posts hating on swords. I promise.
Imagine you are a knight, born of noble blood. You are powerful, rich and have been interested in learning the art of the sword since you could hold a stick. You have trained with countless seasoned men-at-arms from all throughout the Seven Kingdoms and after years of training you have become a master swordsman. You grapple, hoist and joust. And there is never a shortage of battles to hone your skills in, as there is always some peasant uprising, no matter how many babies you toss at them. What can a disheveled gang of clubs and pointy sticks do to you, the warrior elite?
What folly is this? You have joined the crown's army in squashing a rebellion but your opponent is an armored knight? You prepare to thrust your sword into his armpit gap when all of a sudden...this happens to your head. Oh crap.
...
If we go back to the days of our hairier ancestors we will find that the armaments they used to battle each other were hefty pieces of wood, rocks, chipped sharp rocks and also rocks attached to the ends of sticks. As time went on they became better at chipping and grinding stone and started turning it into more refined, pointy shapes. And eventually they discovered metal, so it is only natural that they started turning metal into pointy shapes too, resulting in copper daggers. But then they decided to make them longer. This resulted in the creation of the most overrated weapon in real life and in Westeros - the sword.
So now we have something which takes a lot of specialized skill and knowledge to make, is much more costly than other weapons and doesn't crack skulls and bones as well as a rock tied to the end of a stick, that bends easily, that chips easily...but hey, at least you can stab enemies with it at a greater distance. But I mean, if you want to do that why wouldn't you use...a spear?
Anyways, later people discovered new types of metal which required even more skill, knowledge and time to produce swords with. But at least now there was a sword that doesn't chip as easily as before (but still chips) and doesn't bend as easily (but still bends)...but it looks really cool and there's a lot of prestige involved because of how difficult it is to make, how rare it is, how expensive it is and how only the upper classes can afford to use it and...meanwhile you can just use...an axe? Or a pointy stick? After all, the axe can split someone's head open with much more ease than a sword while the pointy stick can stab people at an even greater distance than a sword...so then why use a sword?
And if you want to use a weapon which has more power and more reach than a sword there is a literal agricultural tool which does the job.
And if you encounter one of those noble moneybags in steel plate on the battlefield like in the scenario presented at the beginning of this post, what are you gonna do with this? Grab the blade for more control and try to stab into the gaps of the armor? Flip it around and hit them with the crossguard and pommel? Sure, I guess you could do that...but you could instead just grab a hammer like Robert Baratheon and give them a concussion to win the fight with a single blow.
Also as I mentioned before swords are expensive, especially compared to the weapons I've discussed so far which are far cheaper.
Another thing to note is that polearms were preferred by most knights and soldiers in the medieval period for a reason. They have power, they have reach, some of them are good against armor, some have hooks and can pull horsemen from their horses and they are also effective in formations. All the things swords are not good at.
And on the other hands we have something which takes 10 times longer to make but looks really cool...I guess? Seriously, who thought this was a good idea? Greatswords have all the disadvantages of a polearm as they are clunky to carry and are not good in confined spaces, on top of which they take even longer to make than most swords and are usually even more expensive. So why would you use one of these when you can just use a polearm like most real life medieval soldiers?
In conclusion, despite swords seeming cool to many people and despite there being status and prestige attached to them, I could easily see a world without them. They do not excel at anything more than all other weapons and there really aren't a lot of situations where a sword is preferable to all other weapons. Because of this, I think it is fair to say that the popularity of swords among Westerosi warriors in a time where plate armor is widespread makes no sense. I personally would attribute this to GRRM not being knoweldgeable about medieval arms and armor and instead favoring the typical fantasy trope of swords being the most popular weapon in the setting. Anyways, swords suck. Don't use them. Choose your weapon according to the situation.

Hi so this is my first post in here 🙃 lol, I went through the interview process and got a job offer the next day lol bc i have previous experience. I have worked at Ulta for 2 years and i have moved up pretty far from just a ba and I’m excited/nervous to start at Sephora. I am confident in my skills but it is a new store opening in a khols and there is only going to be 5 of us working there total lol. I start my training next week and i am wondering what that will be like. Also what are the dress code standers at Sephora requiring makeup and hair…. I have heard a lot of thing form friends who have worked at a sephora before and they say that they are pretty strict with having your makeup/hair done when you come into work. Also how does the gratis work lol at Ulat you would have trading videos that you would have to watch each month and then you would receive your gratis from the GM which was just a bunch of random things lol. Sorry for all of the questions lol😂🙃
