An L-system or Lindenmayer system is a parallel rewriting system and a type of formal grammar. An L-system consists of an alphabet of symbols that can be used to make strings, a collection of production rules that expand each symbol into some larger string of symbols, an initial "axiom" string from which to begin construction, and a mechanism for translating the generated strings into geometric structures... 2024.05.15 22:28 EccentricSage81 nanotech hydrophobic cleaning!

The lotus leaf is listed as the greatest cleaning agent known to mankind in wikis and was the religious symbol of countless religions. when dirt is wet and becomes sticky mud it dries caked on and stuck and traps or allows for other air or splashes or spills to sort of stick. nanotech is so much smaller its like a big warehouse of crates having dust settle between them and by wiping and buffing and polishing around you remove some of the dirt hopefully most of it and get it underneath it will go right through and under about anything, got a tarpaulin or umm curtains over the window spray the curtains and unseen fine nanotech SHINES the window beautiful perfect coatings. the thin film is like nonstick frypan stuff but not the teflon stuff its safe diamonds arent teflon so the moisture and dirt wont stick as much and easily clean off or sorta slide down? nanotech like INKS and alcohol dyes (food coloring) or other paint pigment powders and !SOME! clearcoat polishes over a certain hardness rating which are safe for homes as under sapphire 9H or 10H it might be some sort of waste product cheap being sold as something like SCOTCH GUARD which may or may not have those long lasting microplastics which could be tiny serrated or jagged. If something is 9H or 10H diamond or sapphire hardness the few enamels or epoxys that bond that strong are small enough and dense that their structure is so tiny it slips through and under inside things and can reinforce them but doesnt damage round cells in organisms. the same way glass cleaner must be diluted and used everywhere as glass is porous and prehistoric volcanic obsidian glass walking spiders can walk up glass with special microhooks in their feet for the holes in glass look a bit like a golf ball dimples everywhere with tiny hole looks like hair lines through it like imagine those office ceiling panels with the holes in white particle board. So glass cleaner cleans out the gunk or else your windows will have a brownness you struggle to clean out of the glass without a deep penetrating cleaning agent that comes out looking a bit like brown river water thats discolored from the porous rocks in the water having umm tiny microorganisms yep rivers of brown. So a tiny drop of glass cleaner or a couple drops in a spray bottle or a bucket of water and maybe some one or two drops hydrophobic glass coating or quickpaint coat and a tiny drop or two or a single spray of PLASTIC AND LEATHER RESTORER
with these drops of stuff in water in a spray bottle or bucket you maybe wanna find something with a high % percentage of surfactants on the back of the detergent/soap bottle to wipe out germs and uhh its the cleaning component in all bubbling detergents the sort of science and cleaning and germ killing powers of it. Some floor cleaners made for timber floors that might be a little streaky and say like a polish or cure or something that maybe gives timber a little bit of a darker look when used regularly and appears subtly more expensive looking like hardwood but isnt carbonizing its a type of cellular structure bonding that reinforces not prehistoric torture the wood into looking blowtorched carbon stuff chemicals its a cleaning product disenfectant that protects and polishes but it needs some sprays of water then a spray or a few drops then buff it in and then dust mop it dry as its got some mild ANTISTATIC which helps lift up dust.. i found one that cleans like magic at my asian supermarkets but im not recommending specific brands over the other its the science of cleaning. then maybe put in a couple drops or up to a teaspoon of 10H hardness and like spray your laundry on the line or your carpet or whatever.. i do everything.. some products not 9H or greater will use some unsafe superglues which ignite cotton fabrics into flames or other things.. now house construction products like liquid nails brown glue for holding timber together might have a clear version called liquid glass that might be for window glazing or whatever i hadnt checked if its safe to use on fabrics and other surfaces the POINT of it is the NAME might say liquid glass but its maybe not silicon dioxide that the florist uses to keep their plants fresh for 2 weeks longer liquid glass as in THAT liquid glass like on your phones nanotech liquid screen protector you apply several coats of one each day then reapply every 8 months the cheap stuff.. some of the auto ones for cars can last 9 or 10 years. i found lots of bargain store looking products of sites like aliexpress or maybe amazon with brands like glassxkare or fantastic XML and adams polishes for tiny vials of 50ml or less of 10H hardness affordable or fantastic XML for like a big 500ML 9H hardness spray bottle that when sprayed into a spray bottle of water and glass cleaner and a drop of hydrophobic coating and plastic and leather restorer and a tiny drop of timber floor polish cleaner that may or may not make it a tiny bit streaky or splotchy the hydrophobic coatings may also be too hydrophobic you can tell if your spray bottle wont suck up water because the water cant enter the tube but if you spray a couple spray bottles of such tiny drops the nozzle will clog and not spray anymore.. nanocoatings can be tricky i dunno what to do. if its scratch protect films make it streaky and require buffing power tools and youre not loud big tools like me maybe aim it at carpets and couches rather than windows and do those without the floor polish. I've found no sort of uhh possible forseeable reasons for any health issues and my stuff looks and FEELS amazingly better, i think bathroom toilets or tiles or shower and tap fixtures or.. walls and floors and furniture and clothes.. i think id only not try spraying my drinking cups and cutlery but i honestly think i might need to drink the stuff its THAT GOOD. my cats LOVE IT! its kinda scary awesome.. i tried brands of plastic and leather restorer and quick paint coat and hydrophobic glass coating from HGKJ black and green labels. I couldnt tell you how safe it is, i just struggled as im a disability pensioner and saw our really old house falling apart and this damn near reversed a few decades off it and brand new snow clothing and jackets and throw rugs i bought felt BETTER THAN NEW i mean ridiculously better than new. ancient poisons used to clean HALF as good and were feared for being too good and too cheap. But diamonds and liquid diamond are naturally occuring hot springs reactions and the reason monkeys stay in there. its literally pretty much good for all life.
(plastic and leather restorer see leather deep conditioner but better and sorta similar to glass cleaner but a sort of UV protect oil and reinforce that adds the rich deep black color back to PU leathers and those vinyl anime girl figures yellowing from the sunlight and UV will becomes their original selves again or old yellowy car headlight covers get fixed up but so do most paints and timbers and other things. but you wanna seal it in with a nano coating when cleaning it out plastic and leather restorer is used in plastic manufacture and when you peel those clear plastic film stickers off shiny new products they help prevent its slow gradual evapouration and why they look so nice and black and arent just to prevent scratches. several days later plastic and leather restorers super shiny rich deep 'wet hair look for your black pleather chair' will seem to have worn off but its UV protect and other things will still be there and some polishes waxes or coatings can help keep it and its colors and UV protect there a bit longer well the look the restorer itself keeps it like how it was quite a while years? till it goes yellowy or faded again.)
So when we look at the water beading on lotus/lily pad leaves and things, ancient people used saps and old polishes and obsidian blades arrowheads since dinosaurs era. which with 200 times sharper than steel knives carbon nanotech its super dangerous deadly and was mostly all used up and we swapped it all out for modern glasses and glazing and safety glass so we dont slice our selves into piles of body parts on invisible pieces. Since the days of ink and whetstone nanotech advanced impossibly high particularly in volcanic hot springs countrys with samurai swords and caligraphy brush ink. Trying to find the scientifically safest and best possible cleaning products super affordably that might be useful for washing clothes, cars, metals plastics and other things.. are strangely not at the home hardware stores.. you see synthetic diamonds been on the gem market for centuries but too expensive to produce till modern different approaches with lasers and different gas precipitation with super high electricity concentrated over weeks or months or special electrolosys solutions will slowly layer and create diamonds but the diamond solution precipitated that grouped to each other or doesnt perfectly slot into the sort of tetris like bonds of the outer layers of the diamond a bit like diamond growth needs spaghetti O's and we're raining alphabet soup at it till with a bout 30% of the letters having a good chance of sticking. every few hours the solution of sublimation precipitate is swapped out creating a couple oven trays of 'liquid diamond solution' 10H hardness brightness and shines up glass with a thin film of diamond giving it moisture modest water resist we can use graphene to increase water resist and 10H+ hardness and apply hydrophobic coatings.. So who makes lots of these liquid finishes and what are they used for? Most are produced by a car race track owner who insists they protect their cars before taking them out onto the track or a speck of dirt or sand might scratch up the paint. But if i wanted to like power pressure washer spray it up onto my roof tiles and thin out some of that lichen and make them more uhh watertight leaks arent a concern but it might prevent a terrible future. anybody know why its not already a thing and there isnt countless guides on the ideal ratios and stuff? i mean its about as expensive as laundry detergent concentrate and used to be in most of those still is in some developed countries.. its what makes american movie sets look so umm bright and shiny and polished and awesome and makes mansions look like mansions or wealthy look and feel and its where LUXURY COMES FROM. is my cheap poor persons attempt at cleaning my own home not good? even if its mildly bad i think i'd use it forever. ESPECIALLY on things like 100% bamboo bed sheets i bought cheap ones from an australian online retailer and a few coatings of sprays and they felt and looked so dang shiny and awesome. Some bottles of the stuff claim 6 drops coats the car but remember many are diluted or not full strength or dont last long as advertised or a big bottle 500ML might be 3months to a year.. rather than tiny medicine bottle 50ml or 30ml sized 3-5 years most i guess, you need to keep applying a coat very often but having it not be streaky or buffing it in is tough so i maybe shaved years off its coating and thinned it out and just apply a bunch of coats as often product claims 9H its only a tiny % the whole spray bottle and needs many many applications to approach that but it is POSSIBLE theoretically. remember all glass cleaner is blue colored so when you dilute it with water you shouldnt have it fully color the water too much or its TOO STRONG. 80s people cleaned 80s glazing which maybe radium or lead tincture as radiation blocking films were often lead or radiation lined literally as a radiation shield was a.. film of radiation so it lasted years and needed double or triple glazing for expensive high rise buildings and cleaning heaps of smoky 80s glass dredged out horror mud floods of brown sludge that got them accused of dirtying things, though 80s squeegee thingys are really bad unless you reverse them and press down on a microfibre cloth with them for good even pressuer and a nice streak free clean using the back black rubber blade part to make a thin line of glass cleaning cloth good contact i previously saw reverse squeegee you mount cleaning cloths into specifically but searching i cant find to buy it when i tested it out at home with a squeegee that doesnt clip in like that. are there special tools you guys use? whats the secret? also the purple ceramic graphene ones seem awesome but maybe arent quite close to 9H either.. the bright shine of 10H or 10H+ on tiles and glass.. when apply hydrophobic it looks like zero application of anything somehow its gone for days. does anyone have a more ideal ratios specific or specific active ingredient amounts by weight or dilute with stuff that isnt water to help it keep its years of coating? does using a power washer make it not last? or last longer? or apply streaky splotchy? if its splotchy would more coats over weeks get it all consistent?
the liquid diamond stuff is in many countrys water or whatever.. but uhh concerns about silicosis maybe arent a thing at all if you cough it feels like its cleaning your lungs not harming them. Silicosis happens when criminal retards enter a sandblasting sealed room containment to steal the literally raw materials from factories or whatever or they use water cutting and sand blasting and CNC machines and sharpening blades constantly without sealed enclosure vacuum air scrubber filters. thats what wrecks those benchtop workers also they maybe mixing or breathing wrong epoxys and resins or dont seal them with the correct sealants and polishes and finishes.

2024.05.15 22:09 VillageSmithyCellar How do you add colons to uploaded book titles?

I've just started uploading epubs to my Kindle using the Send to Kindle page. For the most part, this is going well, but I've noticed that the title of the book as it appears on my Kindle is the file name. So, I've been renaming my epub files with the books titles (I have a Python script to do this if anyone wants it). For most books this goes well, but a lot of books have colons : in the title, and this character is not allowed in most file systems.
For now, I am using the ꞉ symbol instead (found here), which looks almost exactly the same, so it's fine for now. But I'm worries it will mess with the alphabetical order of the books in the same series I bought directly from the Kindle Store.
So, is there a way to use real colons in book titles?
Something I tested was using : (the HTML entity) instead of a colon, but that did not work.

2024.05.15 00:19 Yggdrasylian How to make pretty logographs?

I would love to make my first logography but it seems I’m incapable of creating nice looking ones. I can manage alphabet and abugida because the symbols aren’t as many and simpler. But when I have to make many symbols each carrying one word, they end up so ugly. How to make a symbol pretty and have a consistent style while giving it a meaning?

2024.05.14 22:32 Crayuz Suggestions for a Turkic constructed script

I am currently designing a script that can be used to transcribe every Turkic language accurately in a way that clearly connects them with ancient Turkic people and each other. Runic, arabic, and latin are in my opinion either too imprecise or foreign for this purpose, so I am interested in making my own script. However, I would like some additional input from you on what kind of script would be more ideal for this purpose.
I have a few ideas in mind. Firstly, I would like to not distinguish voiced and voiceless characters except through diacritics or other markers, similar to Japanese and Korean. That way, there will be a clear visual similarity between these letters regardless of whether it has voiced or devoiced over time and between languages. Voicing doesn't seem to affect the meaning of most native Turkic words except at the end, so this should simplify the script a bit. I would also like to base the shape of the letters on something that would hold significance in ancient Turkic life, such as horses, yurts, dogs, wolves, numbers, and the sky. I am interested in making a dual script system where there are curved and angular scripts used for different purposes, similar to japanese kana. However, that's about where my ideas for this script end.
I have a few questions on what kind of script would you prefer.
Would you want it to be an alphabet, abjad, syllabary, or abugida? Alphabets would be the safe option. Abjads are not quite suited for Turkic languages, however, as seen in Arabic. I am interested in experimenting with syllabaries and abugidas, but Turkic syllable structures and the abundance of vowels may make this very complicated. Or we could compromise and go for something similar to Korean Hangul, which is essentially an alphabet compressed into syllable blocks. This type of script is compatible with Turkic, although unique.
What would the shape of the letters be? Should they be angular and sharp, like they're carved on stone? Or round and curvy, like they're written on ink? Perhaps both?
Should each vowel have its own symbol or should they be grouped into pairs based on frontness/rounding? If grouped, should they be distinguished with diacritics or just by context?
Same with the consonants. Should they all have their own symbols? Should they be distinguished on voicing? Frontedness? This would be akin to the Orkhon script, where consonants are doubled into front and back pairs. In that script, letters like k and q are paired, along with g and ğ. Establishing a clear relationship between similar sounding letters in languages where these sounds do have a relationship would indeed be an advantage, but I'm not sure what I should differentiate them on.
How many scripts should be part of this system? I am interested in making a secondary script to pair with it, which could work like the uppercase-lowercase system in Greek-derived scripts like Latin and Cyrillic, or like the hiragana-katakana system of Japanese kana, however it is not necessary. Still, the pairing of angular and round versions of the same letters in a way that connotes additional information and tone strikes a chord in my brain.
What should the shape of the letters be? Should they be based on the shape of the mouth, things that would be present in daily life, nearby scripts, or completely random? Anything else? This is something really crucial, so I'd like to know your thoughts on this one as much as possible
Should I add letters for sounds that are rare or aren't used in Turkic languages outside of loan words? I'm talking letters like w, zh, ts, dz, th, dh, and f, which only appear natively in a few Turkic languages. Perhaps I could add additional letters as part of an Altaic DLC.
Also, what way should the script be written? Left to right like Latin? Right to left like Orkhon and Arabic? Top to down like Mongolian, Japanese, Korean, and Chinese? Or a mixture of both? I personally prefer top to bottom and a combination of left to right.
If you have any other suggestions for this supposed script, please let me know.

Abstract
Short overview of 𓍢 [V1].
Overview
In A2 (1957), Gardner (pg. 521) wrote the following about 𓍢 [V1], namely that it was a “coil of rope”, specifically the front rope of a ship:

On 9 Mar A67 (2022), LibbThims discerned (see: letter R decoding history), while writing the “Egyptian mathematics” article, then posted: here out that the spiral character 𓍢 [V1], found as the 100-valued number tag 🏷️ of TombUJ (5300A/-3345):

is the parent character of the Phoenician R and Greek R (rho), value: 100, namely: 𓏲 [Z7] or 𓍢 [V1] » 𐤓‎ » ρ » R in letter evolution; see also: “legged rho”, in Jeffery’s epigraphic table, and odd-looking Attica “red crown rho” (2680A/-725).
On 17 Aug A67 (2022), Thims figured out that 𓏲 = ram horn; (or Ram 🐏 head) prior to this the spiral ꩜ 100-value character 𓏲, from the TombUJ number tags, had been decode; in sum, the new view means Ra the sun ☀️ god in ram horn 𓏲 constellation, at spring equinox, in the 2,200-year period know presently as the age of Aries.
On 18 Aug (2022), Reddit user Skgody, working with Thims, determined that 𓏲 is the curl in the eye of Ra 𓂀 [D10] symbol.
On 19 Aug (2022), Thims figured out that curl in the red crown 𓋔 [S3] was a battering ram 🐏, a symbol of military power.
Letter R type evolution:
🐏 » 𓃝 » 💯 » ☀️+ 𓏲 [Z7] » 𓍢 [V1] » 𓋔 » 𓋖 » 𓂅 » 𓂇 » 𓂀 » 𓁛 » 𐤓 » Ρ, ρ » 𐡓 » 𐌓 » R » ר » र » ر

2024.05.13 20:01 Prestigious-Wind-396 I need help with my first Conlang

I am trying to make a conlang which is called Elderin that is going to have a ancient elf language, This is what it looks like in roman character form: Hello how are you
Cevelmor Develhelvin ir
/ˈsɛvɛlmɔr ˈdɛvɛlhɛlvin ɪ
What are vowels, continents and all of the others??
Any tips?
The word order is in SVO

Elderin has 6 diatrics:

Dot above the symbol = Don't pronounce the last letter(My alphabet letters are multiple letters themselves for example Ahr, bel, cev, dorn, el)
Dot above and below the symbol = Remove the pronunciation of the last 2 letters
Little Capital T on the left side of the symbol = Pronounce only the first letter
Little Capital T on the top of the symbol = Pronounce only middle letter
Little Capital T on the bottom of the symbol = Only Pronounce last letter.
I have these diatrics because the sounds would be very very restricted if i were just stuck to the ones i have put in place because they are multiple characters like hebrew(alef) so the diatrics add to the amount of sounds and variations you can have

2024.05.13 12:29 Mkyhhd Georgia is a magnet for data centers and other cutting-edge industries

There's Not Enough Power for America's High-Tech Ambitions; Georgia is a magnet for data centers and other cutting-edge industries, but vast electricity demands are clashing with the newcomers' green-energy goals
Uberti, David. Wall Street Journal (Online); New York, N.Y.. 12 May 2024.

ATLANTA—Bill Thomson needs power fast. The problem is that many of the other businesspeople racing into Georgia do too.

Thomson heads marketing and product management at DC Blox, which in recent years built a string of data centers in midsize cities across the fast-growing Southeast. The company more recently set its sights on Atlanta—the would-be capital of the region—joining a slew of tech and industrial firms piling into the state.

Vying for a piece of one of America's hottest markets, those businesses tend to have two things in common. One is that they represent a U.S. economy increasingly driven by advanced manufacturing, cloud computing and artificial intelligence. The other is that they promise to hoover up huge amounts of electricity.

That combination means Georgia's success in luring this development comes with a side effect: Power is a big source of tension. The clean-energy goals of companies and governments are running up against the need for projects to break ground fast. So far, climate advocates fear the imperatives of growth mean more fossil fuels.

Georgia's main utility, Georgia Power, has boosted its demand projections sixteen-fold and is pushing ahead on a hotly contested plan to burn more natural gas. Critics warn it will yield higher bills and unnecessary carbon emissions for decades. Some companies are scrambling to secure bespoke renewable-energy deals to power their development.

One major source of disruption is data centers. The facilities are ballooning in size as people spend more of their waking hours online and companies digitize everything from factory processes to fast-food drive-throughs. All that computing requires power—and for firms like DC Blox to lock it in as quickly as possible.

"Generally," Thomson said, "we find the guys with the fastest power win."

Similar quandaries are rippling through other hubs of the new American economy, with utilities in Tennessee and the Carolinas forecasting their own unexpected surges in load growth. U.S. power usage is projected to expand by 4.7% over the next five years, according to a review of federal fillings by the consulting firm Grid Strategies. That is up from a previous estimate of 2.6%.

The projections come after efficiency gains kept electricity demand roughly flat over the past 15 years, allowing the power sector to limit emissions in large part through coal-plant closures.

"We haven't seen this in a generation," said Arne Olson, a senior partner at consulting firm Energy and Environmental Economics. "As an industry, we've almost forgotten how to deal with load growth of this magnitude."

For states like Georgia, the fear is missing out on what could be once-in-a-generation investments. Wall Street is salivating over an artificial-intelligence-fueled tech bonanza, while Washington is throwing billions of dollars into domestic manufacturing.

The added wrinkle is that it is all happening as many parts of America—corporate America included—are trying to wean themselves off fossil fuels.

"These companies all have clean-energy goals," said Patty Durand, a Georgia Power critic who is campaigning to be a utility regulator in the state. "Those goals are at risk if Georgia Power gets what it wants."

The Peach State's energy quandary stems from the type of economic dynamism that many counterparts would envy. Its growth has consistently outpaced the nation's. A smaller portion of Georgians are jobless than the U.S. average, while their incomes tend to be rising faster.

State and local economic-development teams have courted large businesses to set up shop with sales pitches that have included generous financial incentives. Rail lines, ports and America's largest air hub also provide access to faraway customers.

Pat Wilson, commissioner of the Georgia Department of Economic Development, said energy is increasingly part of those discussions with newcomers. Officials tout the newly expanded Plant Vogtle, America's largest nuclear power plant , as a sign the state is ready for long-term growth.

"We have a utility partner to make sure you can meet your energy needs on day one," Wilson said.

Those needs include affordability, reliability and sustainability for firms like Aurubis, a German metals giant building a recycling plant in the outskirts of Augusta.

U.S. energy prices are far lower than those in Europe. That is a boon for Aurubis, which uses mammoth equipment to shred old circuit boards and electrical wiring, melt the scraps, and separate copper from other materials.

View Image -

The company also boasts aggressive emissions-reductions targets for its power-intensive smelters. At its roughly $820 million Georgia plant, Aurubis will use up to 31 megawatts of electricity, enough to power thousands of homes.

"Not every project itself has to reduce carbon emissions," said David Schultheis, president of the Georgia facility. "But the overall set of projects has to guide us there."

The firm has made strides to that end in Europe by bolstering its usage of wind or solar power in a portfolio stretching from Belgium to Bulgaria. In Georgia, Schultheis pointed to Plant Vogtle, visible just 12 miles away, as a symbol of reliable energy.

Companies prize nuclear power plants, since they produce carbon-free energy and—unlike wind or solar power—don't depend on the weather. But the projected power needs of new businesses in the state far exceed the expected output of the plant's recently added reactors, the second of which went online last month.

Despite Aurubis' proximity to Vogtle, which is co-owned by Georgia Power, it is also difficult to trace the source of electricity that reaches the substation on the German company's property nearby. Schultheis instead relies on the utility's overall power production for his carbon accounting, meaning the Georgia site will add more to Aurubis' carbon footprint.

"We get the full grid—the mix of the grid—of what they produce," he said.

Many of the battles over that energy mix have been fought in a windowless room in one of the imposing government buildings crammed into Atlanta's South Downtown area. That is home to meetings of the Georgia Public Service Commission, which oversees utilities including Georgia Power.

The investor-owned utility last fall made an unusual update to its periodic resource proposal to regulators. Citing a boom in new business customers, Georgia Power boosted its projected demand growth over the next seven years from less than 400 megawatts to 6,600 megawatts, or about a third more than the utility's total capacity at the beginning of 2023.

To make up the gap, the company put forward a plan that includes adding battery storage, buying power from fossil-fuel-burning plants in Mississippi and Florida, and building three new gas-fired turbines in Georgia.

The Southern Co.subsidiary has since sparred with renewable-energy-minded organizations as divergent as local municipal governments, the Sierra Club and the Pentagon.

Opponents argued the utility should accelerate demand-side responses, such as allowing customers to dial down energy usage depending on costs. Others proposed more-aggressive use of solar power and batteries, or so-called "virtual power plants" that allow consumers with solar panels to sell energy back to the grid.

In Georgia Power's view, adding gas is key to providing stable power and quickly ramping up electricity for moments of peak usage on the hottest days of summer and coldest days of winter. That is especially crucial given the utility's gradual retirement of coal-fired plants.

The state is attracting so many power users, Georgia Power contends, that new investments will actually suppress ratepayers' bills.

"We anticipate that we will not need to increase rates to cover the costs of these resources that we're adding," said Aaron Mitchell, the company's vice president of pricing and planning.

View Image -

Some Georgians are skeptical, noting utilities' previous overestimates of demand growth. Power companies have a financial incentive to pursue capital projects, critics say, and overbuilding now would risk saddling ratepayers with assets that have decadeslong shelf lives.

The recent history of energy development in the state has also been rocky. The Georgia Power-led project to expand Plant Vogtle, the first U.S. nuclear development in decades, ran up more than $30 billion in costs and lagged years behind schedule.

Since the project's early stages in 2007, the 12-month moving average of residential power costs for the utility's customers has surged 68%, according to the Georgia Center for Energy Solutions. That outpaced inflation, as well as cost increases for industrial and commercial customers.

Price pressures and climate fears have pushed communities such as suburban Atlanta's DeKalb County, which has pledged to slash emissions, to lobby regulators for more aggressive oversight of the investor-owned utility. Ted Terry, a DeKalb County commissioner, warned that the state is using a 20th-century energy playbook while trying to attract 21st-century industries.

The state's energy market "is not working for all of us," Terry said. Regulators approved much of Georgia Power's plan on April 16.

'Essential to our economy'

The tension hasn't slowed businesses' rush to the state.

Alphabet's Google has operated data centers in Georgia for more than two decades, gradually expanding its footprint. In 2021, Microsoft established a new U.S. data-center region emanating from greater Atlanta. An Amazon Web Services spokesman said the firm recently bought land in the Peach State and is evaluating possible server-farm locations.

All three firms purchase massive amounts of renewable energy to help power their facilities around the world. All three are also members of the Clean Energy Buyers Association, a trade group pushing utilities, including Georgia Power, to go green.

Priya Barua, the organization's senior director of market and policy innovation, said the added difficulty in much of the Southeast is that traditionally regulated power markets sometimes give firms fewer opportunities to shop around for wholesale electricity.

"They're more limited in how they can get clean energy," she said.

Some analysts believe that could change as companies exert more pressure on regulators and developers strike deals with independent power producers. As part of Georgia Power's recent planning update, the utility said it would work with trade groups like Barua's to explore how commercial and industrial customers might build or contract their own clean-energy projects in the future.

Those setups have been confined in recent years to nonprofit electricity cooperatives that tend to serve rural areas. Instagram-owner Meta, for example, joined with a Georgia co-op and solar developer Silicon Ranch as part of a broader deal to power data centers.

But even in a more-competitive market, those deals may remain out of reach for most companies, such as DC Blox, the data-center operator building two facilities on opposing outskirts of Atlanta.

Founded in 2014, the firm constructed its first data center in an old paper plant in Chattanooga. Power usage: one megawatt. DC Blox has since built out a network from Myrtle Beach, S.C., to Huntsville, Ala., leasing space to municipalities, universities and manufacturers.

Now, the company is big-game hunting for big-tech customers. The larger of its two Atlanta-area sites could reach up to 300 megawatts.

"The smart states and smart utility commissions are going to figure out how to do this because this isn't going to stop," said Thomson, the DC Blox executive. "AI is coming next."

DC Blox executives see themselves as part of Atlanta's evolution from logistics center to the digital hub of the Southeast. Nowhere is that more apparent than west of the city in Douglas County, the most sought-after corner of the region's data-center market.

Local officials including Chris Pumphrey, president of the public-private Elevate Douglas Economic Partnership, began seeking out data centers about a decade ago. While the facilities employ few full-time employees, operators and tenants pour property and sales taxes into public coffers. Another benefit to Douglas County was that the new industry reduced truck traffic to warehouses peppering the area.

"At that period of time," Pumphrey said, "there wasn't this significant concern about energy."

These days, Douglas County is home to current or forthcoming data centers by companies including Google, Microsoft, DC Blox, Flexential and Switch. As hundreds of construction workers etch the concrete structures into sides of hills like fortresses, Pumphrey is eagerly awaiting the payoff.

"They're essential to our economy," Pumphrey said. As for the energy concerns, he added, "We have to figure something out."

A Short Lesson

In some of the replies to my posts, there seems to be a disconnect between the circles I post and people thinking I'm a runecaster. While that may be true in your respective realm or realms, it's a little more complicated here.
So, here's a quick rundown of the various casting types native to my realm.
Direct Casting - The rarest, oldest, and most dangerous form of casting. Casters directly manipulate mana whiteout an intermediary. Fast, powerful, and difficult to counter - but the unfiltered mana tends to burn out parts the caster's brain over time, leading to insanity and eventual death.
Ceremonial Casting - The 2nd oldest form of casting, and the oldest still practiced. By providing a large number of intermediaries, such as chants, incense, and specific times and locations, one can manipulate mana at a significant remove. Considerably slower and more limited than Direct Casting, Ceremonial magic does have the benefit of not burning out your brain. Still used for certain large-scale applications that need to be done exactly right.
Ritual Casting - A variant of Ceremonial Casting, where a group of casters come together to share the load. Unlike Ceremonial Casting, Ritual casting makes use of as few intermediaries as possible, instead relying on splitting the burden of damage amongst all those participating. Greatly reduces the level of brain damage to moderate problems that are generally seen a bit weird, and all but eliminates the eventual chance of death. Still requires time, and a large number of participants.
Incanting - The most common form of casting, wherein one describes the desired results in the language of magic. Due to the size of the mental buffer provided by linguistics, casters rarely suffer even mild mental problems, although losing tract of a conversation seems to be a common side effect. Primary downsides are that chanting a spell takes time, is rather obvious and easily interrupted. Not to mention that most casters tend to make a study of the language of magic at some point, so they'll recognize what you're casting, and presumably come up with a counter.
Inscribing - The written and/or drawn version of incanting. The additional buffer layer of writing and/or drawing completely isolates the brain from any deleterious effects of raw mana, resulting in this being a rather common method of casting. Spells must be prepared in advance, and the inscriptions are generally consumed or burnt out in the casting. Shares the same advantages and disadvantages as Incanting.
Rune Casting - The first variant of Inscribing, whereby complex concepts are assigned to individual runic letters or symbols. Greatly reduces the time required to cast anything, although the concepts are rater limiting and preset. Frequently used to make magic weapons. More subtle than Inscribing, and the runes don't tend to burn out or get consumed. Most spells are simple, cast with two or three characters. As there are a variety of runic languages, and each character can hold multiple concepts, it is often difficult to determine what a given spell does.
Circlecasting - I use this! - The second variant of Inscribing. Shares the time constrains and requirement for preparation that Inscribing has, but doesn't rely on the assignment of arbitrary values, instead using the runic languages as alphabets. The result is that a high degree of precision can be reached, at the cost of taking significantly longer to design a new spell. Like Rune Casting, circles are not burned out or consumed.
Song Casting - A variant of Incanting developed by bards. By replacing th incantation with music and song, casters disguise the exact form and nature of the spell, making it much harder to guard against. Otherwise, shares the same advantages and disadvantages as Incanting, as well as requiring - at the very least - that the caster be able to sing. Rumors persist of a variant of this magic that utilizes dancing, but no proof has ever been offered.
Numerology - The mathematical version of Rune Casting. Recently developed and annoyingly popular with armchair theorists who've never cast a real spell in their lives. Shares all of the drawbacks of Rune Casting, but you also need to know math and carry manual to figure out what's going on. That said, by being able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide concepts, some interesting results are possible.
Beseechment - An uncommon form of casting, wherein one beseeches or invokes another being to cast magic on one's behalf. As another being is doing the actual magic, that other being suffers any mental degredatioon that may result. Quite popular amongst certain fringe groups, and those who have neither the talent or drive to learn magic. Due to how roundabout this form of casting is, it is incredibly difficult to determine the form and nature of the spell being cast, as every spell is essentially just a request. A major downside is that the beseeched being may refuse to respond, or may be unable to do so. On the other hand, if you ask nicely, it's possibly the gods will reach down and smite your foes.
Anyway, I've finally arrived at the ruins I wanted to take a look at. Once I get camp set up, I'll see if I can get the orb to transmit a decent image, and then in I go!

2024.05.13 04:37 JohannGoethe It behooves the state of my space-time existence 🚧 NOT to engage in dialogue with those who drop either the S-bomb 💣, the C-bomb 💣, or other DL red flag 🚩 terms

Abstract
Memory note, on rules of dialogue engagement, about not wasting limited space-time existence with mentally backwards-walking🚶‍♀️➡️🧠 puerile hecklers from the audience.
Sheikh Mahmoud
Mental note
The following (12 May A69) is a mental 💭 wake-up note 📝 to self:
“If someone from the linguistics community, i.e. those lost in PIEland 🥧🏝️ beliefs or ShemLand pandering, e.g. as post-amassing monthly now in linguisticshumor (100K+ members), or Egyptology community, being confused by learned incorrect CartoPhonetics foundations, or whatever 20+ EAN-impacted communities, using the Sheikh Mahmoud technique, calls you ”schizo-typic” 💊, e.g. here, here (N[7]R, 2-4 May A69), this 18+ user (aka puerile) even deleting their entire reddit account, a few days later (a commonly seen anti-EAN phenomenon), after given a 7-day ban for fouling on red flag 🚩 DebateLinguistics (DL) discussion rules, a “schizo” babbler, e.g. here (V[8]V, 11 May A69), or “schizo-phrenichere (J[13]R, 31 Mar A69) AND posts, repeatedly, that I am “crazy” 🤪 here, here (J[13]R, 24 Apr A69), etc., these being the two main anti-EAN derogation mud 💩 slinging terms employed, in growing weekly or monthly derogations; all because I have begun (11 Feb A67/2022), since the Pandemic, to work on EAN theory (Swift, A17), evidenced by the LeidenI350 stanzas, which proves that all ABGD-based languages — the English, Latin, Greek, Sanskrit based languages most importantly, as explaining this combined group solves the famous Jones common “source language” problem:
Jones on the common source hypothesis:
“Sanskrit (संस्कृत), Greek (Έλληνε), Latin, Gothic, Celtic, and possibly old Persian, must have sprung from some 🗣️ common source?”
— William Jones (169A/1786), Asiatick Society of Bengal, Third Anniversary Discourse, Presidential address, Feb 2
The 🆕 common source being Abydos, Egypt (5700A/-3745), e.g. here, here, etc., the center of the new EgyptoIndoEuropean (EIE language family).
— words, Etymo, phonetics, and AlphabetOrigin, and alphabet “order”, derive directly from the 28 symbol LunarScript; which formed in the 500-year Sesostris (ΣΕΣΟΣΤΡΙΣ) [1285] empire, e.g. here, here, etc., world language domination window, between 3300A and 2800A, wherein the Egyptians impressed their language system on people, similar to how the Romans, during the Roman empire era, impressed Latin on people; which, in short, was imprinted, similar to a language coding computer program, onto the minds 🧠 of people, in the form of the 28 number-letter Osiris-themed ”Egyptian alphabet”, the first 14-letters: A to N, arranged in so-called: hoe 𓁃, 𓌹, 𓍁 [A], sow 𓁅, 𓂺 𓏥 (𐤄, E), reap 🌱𓌳 [M], and 150-day flood 💦 [N], yearly agricultural cycle, aka ”farming order” (Horner, A67); wherein a four layered social structure was encoded: farming, priests, warriors, government, gods, defined by laws, was encoded; spoken about, in geometric and cosmology terms, by Plato, Plutarch, Young, Swift, Gadalla, and Rehab; all derived from so-called “reduced” Egyptian GodGeometry and EgyptoLinguistics; a new number-coded language, formulated by Egyptian mathematicians, engineers, e.g. here, and cosmologists:
Psychoyos on engineered language invention hypothesis:
“It is strange how everybody wonders 💭 if it was possible❓for humble workers, Semite prisoners of war in fact [Gardiner, 39A], to have invented 💡alphabetic 🔠 writing ✍️? But no one should discuss the possibility of the invention alphabetic writing to have been the work of ⚙️ engineers, even though the myths seem to point in this direction? Maybe alpha, beta, gamma, delta ... represent 1, 2, 3, 4 ... in some 🗣️ language?”
— Dimitris Psychoyos (A50/2005), “The Forgotten Art of Isopsephy“ (pg. #)

Subsequently, as I only have so many days of space-time existence left on this planet 🌍, the 3rd rock 🪨 from the sun 🌞, who the Egyptians referred to by the hiero-name: 𓀭 𓃀 𓅬 [A40-D58-G38] (here), to use to finish the scheduled 6-volume EAN book 📚 set, so I can get back to the HumanChemThermo (HCT) derivation and final scheduled target 🎯 HCT publication; it thus behooves me 🚧 not to engage in dialogue with those who drop either the S-bomb 💣, the C-bomb 💣, or other DL red flag 🚩 terms, as these types of people already have their mind “made up”, being pre-disposed to backwards non-open-mined thinking 🤔, their brain 🧠 anchored ⚓️ in accepted “standard” status quo, but logically incongruent, ideology and dogma; and no amount of arguing or discussion will convince them otherwise, as has been evidenced in the 1.5-year open window🪟of free-going discussion, in the early period of Reddit EAN; or to reply to people whose refutation is “LOL, you are not a scientist, and do not know peer review!”, a comment made while I was making this mental note.
It is better, as Planck said, to let the old generation die off, so that the new generation will allowed sunlight so to grow to the new view.”
— Libb Thims (A69), “mental note”, wake-up state, 9:35 PM CST, May 12
Mental note Follow-up #1
The following is the “reduced“ version of the former:
Do not 🚧 engage [DNE] with puerile minds.”
— Libb Thims (A69), ”mental note”, wake up state (sleep: 11-hours); thoughts on previous day wake up mental note, combined with V[4]S, in this post, who dropped the S-bomb 💣, to which I replied with pro-tip rule, at the Russian (language) sub, about the following letter L type switch from: ΛЛ, between my name in print as: Λибб Тимс, below my photo, versus this the Google translate name Либб Тимс (Libb Thims) or say Леонард Эйлер (Leonard Euler) also shown in the article, below his photo, spelled as Λеонард ЭйΛер in this A52 (2007) Russian article. It still boggles my mind how someone throw the S-bomb at someone for asking the simple question: “how: Λ → Л?”, 3:30PM CST May 13
Mental note Follow-up #2
”You are wasting my space-time.”
— Libb Thims (A69), truncated summary of previous, 2:23AM May 14
Pro tip!
A good rule of thumb to shut-down the conversation with the do-not-engage-with (DNEW) types of users, is just to paste the following, which links to this mental note page:
Reply.
In other words, it should not be that difficult to have a coherent ABC conversation about the origin of ABC, or the new theory of the Egyptian origin of language 🗣️ , without recourse to a trip down the sewer 🕳️ drain, the city trash 🚮 dump, or to the happy default land of ad-hominem-ville?

2024.05.13 01:45 shaneka69 NUMEROLOGY OF YOUR APARTMENT OR HOUSE NUMBER

So, this topic is an interesting one and isn't talked about enough for me. Your house or apartment number radiates at a number based on the number itself it is one digit or the sequence being added into one.
For example, if you live in apartment 304, then your # will be 7 because you add all numbers until you get a single digit. If you live in an apartment that equals 7, you may find yourself extra inquisitive or connected to some type of contract or relationship. Some people living in 7 homes say that it ends up being related to ghosts and others notice it can be connected to learning about something more.
If you live in an apartment with 302, then your number will be 5. This is better than living in a 104/5 apartment because 104 is 14 and 14 is a karmic number. I actually lived in a 14/5 apartment which is a karmic debt number and this was after I didn't notify my income increase. 14 is taking advantage of a comfortable situation to get your way basically or in other words "dodging responsibility". It made a lot of sense when I looked into this. I didn't stay in the 14/5 apartment long. Since 302 isn't karmic, this may be a better 5 apartment or home to live in because 3 is connected to creativity, communication, friendship, and optimism. 2 is connected to cooperation, compassion, and love. This is probably a more ideal 5 energy to live under. You may notice an increase in your social activity and the excitement in your life.
No matter what your home or apartment number is, just add up all the digits until you get 1 digit and that is the number.
This is not focusing on the full address!
It is only your apartment or door number.

2024.05.12 23:55 gangsta_manager PC Hack Possibly Caused By The Game's Anti Cheat

The ending part of this story happened a week ago, but i waited a week before writing this just to be more sure that the stuff that happened was caused by the games anti cheat, and i can confirm (for now at least) that the problems stopped after completely uninstalling nprotect gameguard and helldivers 2 from my system.
Just let me clarify first, i always felt like the game was running too poorly on my system. I have a laptop with rtx 4050, 12th gen i5 with 12 cores, 32 gigs of ram, 1tb nvme ssd, but my pc for some reason was reaching temperatures of 90 degrees celsius during gameplay on medium settings. Also for some reason i felt like capping the fps to 60 didnt change the situation much, nor did changing the games graphic settings. The only thing that seemed to help was turning off the cpus turbo, and so i played the game with turbo off from now on.
So now let me tell you what happened. I mained the game for some time now. I got 100hrs of gameplay on steam and almost reached lvl 50 if i remember correctly. There were no problems playing the game at first if i remember correctly, but after some time i started having blue screen crashes on my pc. For some reason the crashes also happened mostly while playing Helldivers 2. If anyone wondering what type of bs crash was that it was the BSOD(DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL (its linked to drivers and PERIPHERAL DEVICES), but i also read some post here that said the anti cheat can cause driver crashes itself. I tried a lot of tutorials to fix the blue screens but nothing seemed to work, nor did the pc show any hardware errors. The crashes just happened to keep returning from time to time. Also the crashes happened mostly while playing Helldivers 2, often after like 10-15 minutes of gameplay. If i remember correctly it happened only 2 times not during hd2 gameplay, once while i was playing some other game, and once while i was just browsing the web.
One time i was playing Helldivers 2 and i started an automaton mission on one of the icy planets. After like 10 minutes of gameplay, one of my teammates told me on the games vc to shoot at a detector tower with my autocannon bcs i he thought i could destroy it. But when i was getting ready to shoot suddenly my character started walking on its own. It walked only in the south-west direction (like holding A and S on the keyboard at the same time) but i could kinda steer it with my mouse. I didnt know what was happening but i just assumed it was my keyboard bugging out some way so i tried to click some other buttons but nothing worked. i tried to click Escape, alt tab the game, turn on the task manager, go back to the desktop, but nothing worked at all just like somebody plugged out my keyboard or something. So i started mashing my buttons harder but nothing still happened to work. After some time suddenly everything on my screen started flickering chaotically, random buttons were clicked on the games menu screen very quickly (at first i thougt it was just my keyboard getting unlagged and releasing all the sygnals i mashed into my buttons at once) but suddenly my game minimized, and i got back to desktop. Then the windows search bar went up and i saw SOME CHINESE LETTERS BEING TYPED (Could be also Korean or Japanese, but im fairly familiar with those alphabets and can i distinguish them accurately i think, but also i only saw it for a brief moment so i cant be sure). Seeing that i quickly clicked the windows button and turned off the pc on the start screen. I didnt know what to think about the situation there, i was unsure if it was just some bug, some pc lag, or i just got hacked, but just to be sure i updated windows defender and fully scanned my pc for viruses. Windows defender found nothing.
Some time had passed, lots of crashes happened, lots of hours i tried to fix my blue screen issue. Then this one evening exactly a week ago, I was sitting in a discord call with my friend, streaming Kenshi, when suddenly it happened again, but this time even worse. This "thing" opened the steam overlay, and then opened the overlays browser. There it started typing something but most of it came out as some random symbols or those wieird rectangles that appear when you are writing in an alphabet that is not supported in the app you are using. Then (probably seeing this) the thing went into desktop, and AGAIN started writing SOMETHING IN CHINESE into the windows search bar. I tried to wrestle with it and just like last time tried to shut the pc off using the windows start screen, but this time it CLICKED OFF IT. Then i quickly forced my laptop shut using the power button. After this i didnt wanna play no game no more. I booted my pc again, uninstalled helldivers 2, and searched for some answers. Then i remembered i probably need to be offline just in case :skull: so i plugged my ethernet cable off. If u wondering i had my wifi completely turned off in the device manager cause i thought it was causing the blue screens so i didnt need to do anything with it, and just like that i was offline. Then i researched, and found awful things posted about the games anti cheat "Nprotect GameGuard" being a kernel level rootkit malware, that can access your pc in many nasty, unwanted ways. I also found a very helpful and masterfully crafted guide on steamcommunity, how to remove the anti cheat (the devs said it is removed when you unintstall the game BUT it files and services in windows STILL EXIST HIDDEN in some hard to access places). I followed the guide and removed the files and services myself, without using any sketchy uninstalling software. I wanted to find this guide and link it for any of you, but i couldnt find it and im getting kinda very sleepy soo... ill try to get back to you with it later.
I also downloaded Avast, resetted windows internet and firewall settings, scanned the pc for viruses, resetted my browser etc, and guess what? The blue screens stopped, and yeah for now also i have not seen any more HACK attempts on my pc, but yeah it was only a week just like i said in the beginning. If anyone is concerned about my security im also checking my emails for any activity and if somebody is trying to log in anywhere, and there was no sus activity. The blue screens i had are linked to peripheral devices, so them happening could also be a accidental way my system was protecting me from the hack (just bugging out my peripheral devices when some remote chinese keyboard was logging into my pc), but also it just could be the anti cheat doing this.
If you have any questions, i can respond to them later, for now im gonna sleep cause tis very late here, and i have to wake up in the morning. If anybody of yaall gonna come at me with "ugh it was probably not that causing this and you cant check that, since you mostly crashed during gameplay of helldivers 2 and you dont have helldivers 2 installed no more", I can tell you that i MAINED that game so i played technically only Helldivers 2 for 99% of time. It also crashed once while i was playing OSRS i think just for a moment, and just as i told u earlier, when i was just browsing the web. I accidentally turned on some weird font thing while writing and dont know how to turn it off zamn. Well, i think im gonna be finishing here for now.
I just hope somebody sees this, and maybe even devs see this, and many many posts before me that criticized the games anti cheat system. For the most part it istnt even doing its job, there are still cheaters in the game XD, its just giving some chinese dudes access into our PCs. I want to get back into the game, i really do, but right now im too scared to even install it back. Kinda feel like im missing out on the fun, and i cant use a product i paid for, but whatever, my security is far more important. So yaall stay safe out there, share any of your weird stories and questionable things about the games security, and maybe try to make the problem louder. Maybe one thay we will see this miserable anticheat changed for something better, thus making the game playable again for people like me. See you.

2024.05.12 16:57 Sember Z13 - The cipher holds the key

Looking at some of the observations made in the Encyclopedia of observations:
My own observations :
Here's a few things I noticed within the cipher that have not been mentioned:
Hypothesis: The solution to the cipher "aen⌖8k8m8⊥nam" lies in the manipulation of the alphabetic characters (a, e, n, k, m) using the number 8 as a key.
Key Points:
Conclusion: I'm strongly convinced that the z13 can be solved using the clues and code found within the cipher itself, and that the solution will follow some logical steps, figuring out the correct steps and methods would require more understanding of the structure and methods used in order to create the cipher. But the key to the cipher is contained within itself, that makes the most sense considering how short it is.
What are your thoughts?

2024.05.12 15:33 ApocalypseSpoon RESOURCE: 1956 book "Brainwashing: The Story of Men Who Defied It"

https://archive.org/details/brainwashingstor00huntrich/mode/2up
I'm only on page 6 of this, and I am already absolutely convinced the Soviets and the CCP have 1000% NEVER changed their ways, despite the (alleged) "fall of the Berlin Wall" in '89 (which I am old enough to remember, thank you). This book from 1956 describes XitteFacebook/YouTube et al before modern computers even existed.
Right down to the denial/too-little-too-late reaction of the world, in trying to act against the Communists and their propaganda machine. Which they have basically parasitized the entire Internet into, as of right now, three-quarters of a century later.
Everything old is new again. You want to understand Russia/China and their "QAnon" campaign they have brainwashed so many in "the West" with? Read this book! It is wild how accurately it maps to what the "QAnon" disinformation campaign is/was/will be!
Which would be fine, only, H5N1 is in mammalian transmission from the start (as opposed to SARS-CoV-2 only hitting mammalian transmission after 3 years of unchecked spread, thanks to the very same Chinese/Russian disinformation campaigns on the Internet, designed to do that), and avian flu is 100% circulating via human-to-human spread in the United States right now - again, because of the Chinese/Russian "QAnon" and "germs don't exist" anti-vaccination and pro-plague-spreading disinformation campaigns they've spread via the Internet, to get SARS-CoV-2 to become endemic, instead of being eradicated (which "the Reds" have succeeded, in doing).
So, Russia and China have now, in 2024, gone full-on, masks-off (do you see what I did there) scorched-earth policy, and are continuing their disinformation campaigns to cause chaos, disease, suffering, and death, to spread across the face of the earth. Which weren't even their plans, back in '56, when this book was written, about the beginnings of what would eventually become QAnon.
Only, this time, billions are going to die, because H5N1 has a 50% or better kill rate. Fun, eh? /s
The communist hierarchy preferred people to believe that there was no such thing as brainwashing. So long as they could keep it concealed, without a name, opposition to it could be kept scattered and ineffective. As explained by Dr. Joost A. M. Meerloo, a psychiatrist of Dutch origin, in his book Conversation and Communication, it is practically im- possible to fight something until it has been given a name. "To name an object is to bring it within the sphere of human control," he wrote. "Without a name it arouses fear, because it is unknown. . . . Whoever knows the name has power." Dr. Meerloo coined the fine laboratory word menticide—murder of the mind—for this atrocious quack science devised by the Reds to bring about the voluntary submission of people to an unthinking discipline and a robotlike enslavement.
and
But making believe that brainwashing didn't exist could not make it disappear. Neither could people wish it away, any more than the witch doctor I recently watched in the interior of Ceylon could exorcise the evil spirits of kidney disease out of a Singhalese cook by all-night Kandyan dancing and frenetic tom-tom beating. The patient, after going through this costly nerve-deadening ceremony, really believed that he was a well man again. He felt well, too; he was sure of it for more than a month. Then the old pain began racking his back again, fiercer than ever. Neither can brainwashing be exorcised by any journalistic mesmerism, nor by recourse to the comforting escape of hush-hush.
During this early period I saw white men coming out of China, across the plank railway bridge at the border of Hong Kong's leased territory, or through the medieval archway at the Portuguese colony of Macao. My first acquaintance with brainwashing came from Chinese who had undergone it on the mainland. .... I remember one in particular because he seemed to symbolize them all. He walked across the boards feebly, his eyes staring ahead with frightful intensity. He looked centuries older than his middle age.
edit and
None of these white people would speak to the press during that early period, and very few of the Chinese would, either. They were being blackmailed. This tactic used to enforce silence was not new, but still terrifying. The Reds threatened to severely punish and even kill the closest associates of any man who broke the hush-hush. Before leaving Red China, each person had to designate a hostage who would sign a guarantee for him. This enabled the communist authorities to avoid making direct threats. The hostages did so for them in the new, so-called voluntary method. "Please do not talk; my life is dependent on it," such persons would beg of their departing friend. They had been his associates, perhaps in church work or in business. The nightmare vision of such old colleagues being put to the rack and tortured unto death rose before a man's eyes and gagged his throat when he wanted to speak out.

The Americans have known what the Chinese have been doing, for three-quarters of a century, and they continue to refuse to stop it, because XitteFacebook/Alphabet are the only vile websites that are literally propping up their delusional "infinite growth" economy. I said somewhere else on here, it's long overdue for the Americans to bring the Red Scare back!

2024.05.12 11:27 EveryoneIsAComedian [General Fiction] No, Lilith Is Not Sympathetic OR A Feminist Icon. She Isn't Even That Important

Disclaimer:

Despite how the title and intro may look, I am not here to dunk on feminism. If you came looking for a post that said, "Feminist Soy! Am i rite?" Sorry, got to disappoint. Conversely, this isn't a sermon about why you should convert. Believe whatever you want to believe bro. Also, Not a Christian, but I do like Wendigoon talking about it. Finally, Mods plz don't nuke my post this isn't about religion but about the mythology around the figure.

Why Post This Here:

Lilith has been involved in literary discourse for a while as well as being seen as a Feminist Icon in literature. This post is meant to debunk these claims and misreading of the Abrahamic Myths.

Intro:

This really isn't a specific work of fiction, but rather, a general fictional trope I guess., Ever since the release of Hazbin Hotel, discussion has increased on Lilith being a sympathetic/feminist icon, and this is the most laughable idea to me as a guy who is currently studying Christian Mythology for a project. Today, I am going to debunk this claim of Lilith being sympathetic or any sort of feminist girlboss or even being anyway relevant to the Abrahamic Mythos. I'll try source all my arguments, so it doesn't look like I am talk out of my ass.

In The Bible:

Ah, the Bible. It is amazing how such a small book can cause so much violence, but we are not here for a religious debate (well not really). We are here to discuss Lilith. For context, I am going to be used the New Revised Standard Version (NRSV) & English Standard Version (ESV). This is because NSRV and ESV and considered the most popular when it comes to the Bible Versions.
Let's start with NRSV, and Lilith shows up...once? Hell, she doesn't even show up. She's just mentioned.
Isaiah 34:14: "Wildcats shall meet with hyenas, goat-demons shall call to each other; there too Lilith shall repose,"
You can read the full chapter here, but the full chapter really doesn't change much. From what I could gleam (admittedly I ain't a theologian so I could be missing stuff), the dude in this chapter is talking about God's Judgment and is more focused on the natural disasters that would happen. Lilith isn't even really that important. She seems to be at best a higher demon with some power, but this same chapter says an undead apocalypse will happen. She is a footnote at best.
Okay what about ESV? It is even worse there. She doesn't even show up.
Isaiah 34:14: "And wild animals shall meet with hyenas; the wild goat shall cry to his fellow; indeed, there the night bird settles and finds for herself a resting place" (Source)
Okay, but I am clearly cherry-picking though right? What about the other versions? Well, it get even more nebulous. In certain version, it isn't even Lilith but an unnamed night-demon (Source). In others, it isn't even a demon but just a creature of the night/ animals of the night (Source). Hell one of them there are no demons instead an unnamed ogress (Source).
You'd think that Lilith, being the first woman and rebelling against Big G himself, should get more than one very sketchy mention. I mean Eve the mother of humanity is mentioned between 2,000 -2,500 times (Source), Mary the mother of Jesus Motherfucking Christ himself gets around 40 times (Source), hell Queen Sheba, whose existence I only know because a sword in KCD is name after her, is mentioned nearly 70 times (Source)(obviously this varies on which version you take as some books are just removed but the point stands). You mean to tell me a fucking side character is mentioned more than literally Female Satan. Funnily enough, Satan is only mention like 30 times in the Bible (Source).
Okay, so already the foundations of Lilith are shaky, but what do the other Abrahamic Religions say?

In The Quran/The Tanakh (IMPORTANT):

The Quran. She never shows up. Weird since both Eve and Mary get mentioned.
Okay, but what about The Tanakh? (For those who don't know the Tanakh is the "Hebrew Bible". A lot of people say that's the Torah, but the Torah is just the compilation of the first five books of the Tanakh.) Well, yes.
Otzar Midrashim, The Aleph Bet of ben Sira, The Alphabet of ben Sira, (alternative version) 34 - He said to him, "The angels appointed for healing: Sanoy, Sansanoy, Semangalof. When the Holy Blessed One created the first Adam alone, They said, (Genesis 2:18) 'It is not good for this Adam to be alone.' They created for him a wife out of the Earth like he had been, and called her Lilith. Immediately they began to challenge each other. She said, 'I will not lie below,' and he said, 'I will not lie beneath you, but only on top. For you are fit only to be in the bottom position, while I am to be the superior one…
So case closed - STOP. I ain't done cooking yet. See, I got to apologize a bit to you reader. I kind of lied, but to understand how I lied. You got to understand the Jewish Faith first, specifically their holy texts.
Okay, all Holy Jewish Texts fall under Sifrei Kodesh (aka Holy Books). . Within the Siferi Kodesh, there are two main categories texts fall into Tankah and Rabbinic. The Tankah is The Hebrew Bible. It is the considered the canonical collection of Hebrew scriptures and is comprisied of the Torah, the Nevi'im, and the Ketuvim. (Source and Source). Meanwhile, the Rabbinic is Jewish Rabbis studying and interpreting the Tankah (Source, Source, Source). The Alphabet of Ben Sira is squarely in the Rabbinic.
Most of you have already seen a problem, but for those of who didn't, let me spell it out. When you are quoting this passage, you are not quoting from the Tankah. You are quoting a Rabbi's interpretation of the Tankah. This would be equivalent to me using My Immortal to critique Harry Potter (No offense to any Jewish Rabbis. This comparison is meant to be extreme).
Ah, but ain't done yet reader, I have saved the biggest bombshell for last.
The Alphabet of Ben Sira is a shitpost. It a satire. It isn't real.
The reasoning is several. This reddit comment sums it up. And This. Also This
From The Jewish Virtual Library:
There is no reason to doubt the unity of the work as a whole, despite the fragmentary character of the different versions. All the versions share a special, satirical, and even heretical, character, and this indicates that they all were written by a single hand. They seem to reflect varying degrees of censorship on the part of editors and copyists. The complete work contains four parts. The first part is the biography of Ben Sira from his conception until the age of one year. This story, omitted in many editions, explains how Jeremiah, the prophet, was simultaneously Ben Sira's father (the numerical value of Ben Sira's name equals that of Jeremiah), and grandfather. Ben Sira's mother was Jeremiah's daughter. The old prophet was forced to an act of onanism by wicked men, and his daughter conceived from his emissions when she came to bathe. The form of this story is based on a biblical verse that tells the glories and wonders of God's deeds; thus the story satirizes not only Jeremiah, but God's deeds as well.
The second part is more sophisticated in form. It tells how Ben Sira, now one year old, meets with his teacher, who tries to teach him the alphabet. Instead of repeating each letter of the alphabet after his teacher, Ben Sira responds with an epigram beginning with that letter. The epigrams lead the teacher to tell the story of his life. It may be assumed that the original structure of this part was 22 + 12 paragraphs, each containing a letter, an epigram, and a part of the story.
The third part is the longest and contains most of the narrative material in this work. It recounts the story of Ben Sira's life and adventures in the court of Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylonia. It also includes stories told by Ben Sira himself as answers to the king's questions. These stories often include pornographic elements, as well as derogatory descriptions of biblical figures, like King Solomon or Joshua. Some of the stories in this section contain motifs from international folklore and may be based on folktales, but they were adapted to the special framework of the work and satirical elements were added to them. Examination of the various versions indicates that here, too, there were 22 stories, arranged according to the letters of the alphabet, to which 12 other stories were added.
The fourth part, which is found in most versions and gave the work its name, contains 22 alphabetically arranged epigrams attributed to Ben Sira that serve as material for discussion and interpretation by Ben Sira's son, Uzziel, and his grandson, Joseph b. Uzziel. The contents are satirical and even heretical. It may be assumed that this part was constructed in the same manner as the two previous ones – 22 + 12 sections. The work, therefore, displays elements of unity both in structure and in its ideological aims. It is all but impossible, however, to discover the background upon which such a work could have been written. Some scholars (L. Ginzberg and others) believe that it aimed at ridiculing the story of Jesus' birth; but the basis for such a conclusion may be found only in the first part, and even this is not very clear, for the irony seems to be directed more against God than against Jesus. It is hardly possible that the author was a Karaite, as some of the abusive stories are directed against biblical figures, and not only against the Talmud and Midrash. It seems likely that the author did not belong to any organized group or definable ideological movement, but was merely a writer with an anarchistic tendency who used satire to ridicule all the institutions of established religion in his day.
Another difficult problem is the relationship between this pseudepigraphal work and the original proverbs of Ben Sira. Some of the proverbs and epigrams included in the work are originally in the work of Ben Sira, but many such proverbs are found in talmudic literature, and the author probably took them from there. The author of the pseudepigraphal work did not even know Ben Sira's first name. There is only one slight connection that might be accidental: the Wisdom of *Ben Sira has a preface written by the author's grandson, who edited the work, and in the pseudepigraphal work the figure of a grandson is also present.
Buh buh But thats just a reddit comment and some random websites. Whu Whu What are you gonna do OP? Analyze the entire text to prove its a shitpost.
Yes.
Mods turn the music on.

Analysis Of Alphabet of Sirach/The Alphabet Of Ben Sira:

The text we will be using.
We are going to skip most of it and just jump straight into the section with Lilith, but if you do chose to read it, have a good time. Shit is funny as hell. Let's start of with Lillith's Birth. Many like to potray Adam and Lilith's first interaction like this.
1, 2, 3
It is often either stated or implied Adam either tried to force Lilith into a s*x position she didn't want or that he he stated that she was inferior to him and she spit back. While this nicely fits into the "yas Queen SLAYYY" interpretation, its not the truth...mostly.
Here is the actual text:
When the Holy Blessed One created the first Adam alone, They said, (Genesis 2:18) 'It is not good for this Adam to be alone.' They created for him a wife out of the Earth like he had been, and called her Lilith. Immediately they began to challenge each other. She said, 'I will not lie below,' and he said, 'I will not lie beneath you, but only on top. For you are fit only to be in the bottom position, while I am to be the superior one.' Lilith responded, 'We are equal to each other inasmuch as we were both created from the Earth.' But they would not listen to one another. When Lilith saw this, she pronounced the Ineffable Name and flew away into the world's air.
So first, no she wasn't going to be sexually assaulted. Secondly, it was just a couple arguing with each other. Yes, Adam shouldn't have said that about Lilith, but we shouldn't take a statement said by an angry man as gospel for the religion. Plus, how on earth is blaspheming your Father and then running away from an argument an appropriate reaction to the situation? God didn't do anything wrong. Why you picking a fight with him? We will discuss this more, but lets continue.
The Holy Blessed One said to Adam, 'If she agrees to come back, good. If not, she must permit one hundred of her children to die every day.' They departed and pursued her, and overtook her in the midst of the sea, in the mighty waters wherein the Egyptians would ultimately drown. They told her God's word, but she did not wish to return. The angels said, 'We shall drown you in the sea.' She said to them, 'Let me be. I was created only to cause illness to infants. I have dominion over them for eight days after birth if they are male, and if female, after birth for twenty days.' When the angels heard Lilith's words, they insisted on taking her. But she swore to them by the name of the living and eternal God, 'Whenever I see you or your names or your forms in an amulet, I will have no power over that infant.' She also agreed to have one hundred of her children die every day.
There is much to go over here. First, WHERE ARE THE HUNDRED CHILDREN COMING FROM! These are the first man and woman. THERE ARE NO CHILDREN. Who is he talking about? And don't give me that bullshit that he mad a mistake. HE IS GOD. IN THE TORAH, HE IS OMNISCIENT. This makes no sense.
"I was created only to cause illness to infants. I have dominion over them for eight days after birth if they are male, and if female, after birth for twenty days." I am sorry fucking what? Who said that? God? No. Adam? No. The Angels? Definitely not. No one told Lilith she had to cause illness. She is just being a toxic bitch and offloading her problems. What the fuck?
Finally, "She also agreed to have one hundred of her children die every day." At this point, who has sympathy for Lilith? Lets objectively look at Adam's sin. Yes, he was sexist. Yes, that was wrong. Can't Lilith convince him to change? We know it is possible for a woman to convince Adam because EVE CONVINCED HIM TO EAT THE APPLE. So, clearly the man can develop his thoughts. Instead, Lilith just runs away from her problem, knowing that a hundred innocent children (HER CHILDREN BY THE WAY- hang on does that mean she fucked Adam and Eve's Sons. Isn't she like their aunt? I am pretty sure that's still incest) will die. Yes, God is partly to blame as well, but if I had to choose between a Misandrist Wife or dead innocents, I will go with the Misandrist Wife. Nothing shows Adam as violent just a dick, and she clearly has access to powers he doesn't cuz he can't fly.
Accordingly, every day one hundred demons perish, and for the same reason, we write their names on the amulets of young children, and she sees them, she remembers her oath, and the child is healed
I guess that's nice? But does she even really heal them? She just takes away an illness she caused. This is like saying I put out the fire, but I am the arsonist who started it. There wouldn't be a problem if I didn't create one. And that's how the story ends. Seriously.
There is more, but it doesn't really matter. Ben Sira cures a girl of farting everywhere, talks about hair follicles, slanders David, explains why Donkey Urine is important, and ends with a raven cucking an eagle. Its pretty funny.

In Conclusion:

So, TL;DR: Lilith's entire existence is based on a shitpost. In said shitpost, she isn't even that great of a person and isn't even a feminist.
So yeah, that's all I got. There is more to this Rabbit Hole if you are willing to go down, but that is the gist of it. I don't see how a woman who runs away from responsibilities, blames others for her failures, and would rather kill babies than do something hard is a feminist icon, but here we are. I don't really know how to end this. Uh, were you entertained?
Addendum: If you are of the Christian, Muslim, or Jewish Faith please comment below and clear up any misconceptions I wrote in this post. I will try to edit it to make it better. Feminists please try to be respectful in the comments. Sup Mods. Uh yeah, cool.

Addendum #2 - Mesopotamian Lilith:

Some people have been saying that I should analyze Lilith from Mesopotamian Origins as this would give her a more sympathetic view. Very well. There are three main sources: Tablet XII of the Epic of Gilgamesh, a Burney Relief, Arslan Tash amulets
Tablet XII of the Epic of Gilgamesh (Text we'll use): Lilith, a snake, and a bird steal a tree from a goddess and squat in it. Gilgamesh comes around kills the snake. The Bird flees. Lilith chimps out, destroys her home, and runs. Tbf, this is Gilgamesh, so I guess Lillith W?
The dyer (?) had not dyed his leather with it (?)
At its root the serpent, 'that knew not silence (?)' had made its nest
At its top the storm-bird (Zû) had put his young
In its midst Lilith had built a house
The shrieking maid the joyful
The bright Queen of Heaven tears for them (?) wept
His lady said a word to him
'Warrior Gilgamesh, its .... will thee'
The ibbaru garment that was of 50 minas from his loins he removed
What was 50 minas 30 ... . he made
His (?) brazen axe a road (?) his ....
1 talent 50 minas his in his hand he seized
At its root the serpent ' that knew not silence (?) ' he slew
At its top the storm-bird (Zû)
took his young (and) went away to the mountain
In its midst Lilith destroys (her) house
Burney Relief (Source): Yeah no
Even so, the possibility that the Queen of the Night plaque, with its high degree of skill in craftsmanship and attention to detail would be a representation of a lilitu is highly unlikely. According to the Hebrew tradition, Lilith was the first woman made by God who refused to submit to Adam's sexual demands and flew away, thus rebelling against God and his plans for human beings. She was thought to have then occupied the wastelands and, like the lilitu, to have preyed on unsuspecting men ever since. In either tradition, the lilitu was not a popular enough figure to have been portrayed on a plaque such as the Queen of the Night. Dr. Black notes, “Evil gods and demons are only very rarely depicted in art, perhaps because it was thought that their images might endanger people” (62). The mountain range depicted at the bottom of the relief is also thought to suggest lilitu identification in representing the wilderness the spirit inhabits but the headdress, the necklace, the rod-and-ring symbols and the significance of the plaque all go to argue against Lilith as a possibility.
Arslan Tash amulet (Source):
Whispering-incantation against the Flying-one, the oath of Sasam, son of Pidrišiša, god, and against the Strangler of the lamb: “The house I enter, you shall not enter And the court I tread, you shall not tread! He has made an eternal contract with us. Assur made a pact with us, all the sons of El,, and the great council of all the holy ones,With the oath of heaven and earth With the oath of Baal, lord of the earth With the oath of Horon, whose utterance is true,His seven concubines and the eight wives of Baal Qudš”[Written around and between the images] Oh Flying one, from the dark room pass away! Now! Now, night demons! [Written on the Sphinx figure] From my house, O crushers, go away! [Written on the wolf-like figure] Oh Sasam, let it not be opened for him And let him not come down to the door-posts The sun is rising for Sasam. Disappear, and fly away home.[Written on the axe-wielding figure](modified from Cross and Saley 1970 and Berlejung 2010).
So where the fuck is Lilith? Well the text in its original language features lly- which if you add a "t" could be llyt [Lilith], but it also can be ll wyn which means "night and day." So, yeah not exactly a Lilith W. And that's it. I don't know how this makes her sympathetic, but to each their own.

Addendum #3 - Lilith R*ped Adam?

u/howhow326 said that there was a tale about Lilith raping Adam and being thrown out of Eden. This intrigued me to search for it, but unfortunately, I can't find a source for this anywhere. The closest I get is this Blogpost, but this seems to be more of a hypothetical than anything. Frankly, I don't think this should be part of the debate.
Edit 1: Originally, there was a line that said : "Hell fucking Jesus gets mentioned the prophet of the ENEMY, but not Lilith." I have since been informed that this is a gross misrepresentation of the Muslim Faith, and it has been removed.
Edit 2: Spelling and Formatting Errors Corrected
Edit 3: Mesopotamian Lilith added. Lilith's Rape Accusations.

Revelation Through Symbols: The Lesser Magic of Predictive Programming

The presence of this symbol in movies and media is not mere coincidence but a form of revelation through symbols, a concept rooted in the occult practice of lesser magic and predictive programming. This ideology posits that revealing truth through symbols absolves karmic debt, adhering to a universal law of truth revelation.

The Energetic Signature of Ancient Symbols

These ancient symbols, charged with energy, transcend their physical form. When placed in media, album covers, or clothing brands, they carry an energetic signature that influences the material on which they are depicted.

Unravelling the Origins and Implications

This blog will delve deep into the origins and meanings of the eight-pointed star, exploring its historical context and modern implications. By understanding how this symbol has been woven into the fabric of our culture, we can gain insight into the hidden forces that have shaped human civilization and continue to influence our world today.
Exploring the Mystical Octagram
The octagram, or the 8-pointed star, stands as a timeless emblem, weaving its significance through various religions and cultures globally. Its origins stretch back through the annals of history, and today, it adorns national emblems and religious symbols, each interpretation adding a unique layer to its rich tapestry. This exploration dives into the diverse interpretations and ancient symbols of the octagram.
The Octagram’s Varieties
There are two primary styles for crafting the octagram, each leading to different symbolic representations:
  1. Dual-Square Octagram (8/2): This style emerges from the intersection of two squares, creating an 8-pointed star with a distinctive appearance.
  2. Unicursal Octagram (8/3): Known for its ability to be drawn in one continuous motion without lifting the pen, this version of the octagram weaves a singular, uninterrupted path.
Besides these, variations of the 8/3 unicursal style exist, each adding its unique flair to the octagram’s design.
Decoding the Octagram’s Meanings
Each culture and belief system that embraces the octagram infuses it with its own set of meanings and interpretations. These range from representing fundamental cosmic principles to embodying deep spiritual truths. The octagram’s universal appeal lies in its ability to encapsulate diverse philosophies and ideologies.
Glimpses of Ancient Octagrams
The journey through the octagram’s history takes us across 16 ancient symbols from various corners of the world. Each of these symbols carries its own story and symbolism, reflecting the beliefs and artistic expressions of the cultures they originated from.
In summary, the octagram is not just a geometric figure; it’s a portal into the world’s diverse cultural and spiritual landscapes, offering insights into the human quest for meaning and connection.

THE 8-POINTED STAR OF THE ANUNNAKI

In ancient mythology, the 8-pointed star represents the God of heaven, who was called Anu (Aunu, Aun). We also observe the connection to the eight-pointed star with Jupiter.
The 8-pointed star is the pentacle of Jupiter.

The relief in the British Museum displays an image of the Sumerian deity Ninurta, whose parents were Enlil and Ninlil. Notably, the emblem around his neck resembles the cross patee of the Knights Templar.

The ancient Akkadians, Assyrians, Chinese, and Phoenicians recognized Anu as the ruler of the Anunnaki. In Babylonian hymns and incantations, the Igigi and Anunnaki have a significant role, with Anu depicted as the father of both groups. The Anunnaki, as descendants of Enki, were the close allies of the newly created humans.

The Greek alphabet is the key to understanding the gematria of the allegorical language of the New Testament, according to Ambroise. In Christianity, there are eight beatitudes: poverty of spirit; mourning; meekness; desire of righteousness; mercy; purity of heart; the peacemaker; and suffering for the sake of righteousness. The number eight symbolizes salvation, as seen in the octagonal shape of the baptismal font, and is also the sign of God’s covenant. It represents the concept of a new beginning, as evidenced in the Resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ. In Revelation, the Anti-Christ is referred to as the eighth king. In Jewish tradition, the number eight is associated with circumcision, which is performed on the eighth day.

There is a profound connection between the eight-pointed star and the Sirius Empire, particularly its link to the Anunnaki. However, it’s important to note that Sirius is not merely a distant galactic location; rather, it’s believed to be accessible interdimensionally. This star symbolizes the Sirius Empire, also known as the Empire of El, an alien empire reputed to rule Earth.
In Eastern cultures, this entity is sometimes referred to as the Jade Empire. The eight-pointed star is a ubiquitous symbol associated with the Anunnaki, the purported extraterrestrial rulers of Earth. Its presence is evident in various insignias and designs, ranging from the Space Force patch to the top of Disney’s D23 poster.
This symbol is also linked to Inanna, known in various cultures as Diana, Freya, Asteroth, and other names. Inanna is considered the representative of the Empire of El in charge of human affairs, managing humanity on behalf of her father. Her father, identified with various names such as Sin Allah, Dionysus, Khonsu, Yahweh, Jesus, and Njord, is believed to be the current Elohim/Anunnaki ruler of the Multiverse. Consequently, the eight-pointed star often appears on items related to Inanna and her father Sin, signifying their influence and authority.

United Nations Outpost Atop Mount Hermon: We see an eight-pointed star. Remember, this star is a symbol connected to CERN, which is believed to open portals. This location is significant as it’s where the 200 fallen angels, referred to as the Watchers or the Anunnaki, are said to have descended and imparted forbidden knowledge to mankind. They mated with human women, resulting in the offspring known as the Nephilim. These Nephilim turned cannibalistic and began preying on children. In the Americas, Native American tribes united to hunt these giants to extinction after they turned against the people. Initially worshiped, these giants were eliminated due to their unholy acts.

There are also some reports that the Mormon Church is heavily involved in black magic and has ties to the music industry. Allegedly, they take master tapes into their Mormon temples and bind demons to the masters. Consequently, every copy of an album produced from these masters is said to be bound to a demonic entity. The connection between the Church and the eight-pointed star was astonishing to me.

2024.05.11 22:06 Top-Animal1340 Forex screener opens symbols from ICE instead of the broker that you are signed into

This is something that I have noticed a couple years ago and surprised its still not fixed. With the Stock screening tool this doesnt happen because the NYSE is the only stock exchange obviously (at least that I know of but I don't trade stocks). But with Forex it is similar to crypto on how it is decentralized with dozens and dozens of exchanges. The problem is when I click on a symbol from the screener it opens the symbol from ICE, which I cannot make trades off the chart when connected to Oanda. So I have to manually match up the symbol from the screener tool with the ones from my watchlist (or copy and paste it into the main symbols list) which means more work. When all Forex symbols sound like random alphabetical gibberish it certainly isn't fun to have to manually open the tradeable symbol for each pair in the screener. This amount of legwork turns me off from using this tool in the first place.

https://preview.redd.it/ytkqrvkbduzc1.png?width=3255&format=png&auto=webp&s=75b117c02b419e653b27269ddd1fc2943744ccea

Edit:
Looks like I was the idiot because technically all Forex symbols are shown in that screener, so I should have used the colored flags feature to display the tradable symbols from my broker.
One thing that would be really OP is for the screener to integrate with the strategies. The generic filters are too simple for me, and its not feasible to add thousands of different combinations of indicators into the list of filters. Instead, allow me to create my own strategy to run as a filter, so I can use it for niche purposes. That's what the screener should be used for. The watchlist already has the same functionalities of the default filters in the screener like displaying prices, changes, etc. We need a way to screen symbols based on very specific criteria that can only be done through a custom strategy.

Punic Carthage Contributions to the Human Civilization

The book "Carthage, the Forgotten Republic" is a book that is written by Karim Mokhtar, through which talks about the Republic of Qartage Hadasht, or Carthage, from completely different angles from the dominion through which this republic was distorted and wiped out for political and racial reasons. From some important points in the book, dozens of them, we share with you today a very small selection all related to the idea that Carthage is the mother and maker of civilization as we know it today:

  1. The first Republic was founded In Carthage some 2600 full years ago. Yes, we repeat for those who have not yet understood the story: a republic, not a kingdom or an empire. At that time, no one knew the meaning of the republican system, no one understood it except the Carthagians.
  2. After all, it wasn't just a republic like the republics we see today, it was a unique republic headed by two presidents and not one president so that no one decides and the political system slips into dictatorship.
  3. The first "House of Parliament" in history to be in Carthage. Before Greece and Rome for a simple reason these two countries didn't exist at all at that time.
  4. The Republic of Carthage is the only republic that has been glorified and praised by the greatest philosophers of ancient history as Plato and Aristotle despite their country's enmity (Greece) for it.
  5. The first detailed constitution was written in the Republic of Carthage. That constitution was then copied from Greek Sparta who was a close ally of Carthage and Athens fought with and from there many organizational political ideas moved from Carthage to Greece and Rome.
  6. The Carthagians were the first to invent solid crystal, without it we would not be using smart phone screens, computers, etc.
  7. The first residential buildings in history were built in Carthage. Some of them reach six stories high over 2400 years ago.
  8. The written language moved from Carthage to Europe over 2800 years ago and the Romans, Greeks, Scandinavians, Iberians, Greeks and other alphabets were transferred from Carthaginians.
  9. Agricultural engineering was invented in Carthage by scientists and inventors like Mago and others. It was Carthage that brought agricultural science to Europeans.
  10. Warships were first invented in Carthage as is the case of the parachute and dozens of weapons and advanced war tactics that are still being studied and quoted from the most powerful war fleets in the world such as the United States and others.
  11. The first forms of unification appeared in Carthage before the Abrahamic religions where God Baal was present and worshipped by the Carthaginians and the Phoenician religion was the first and the most widespread in the ancient world until the fall of Carthage in 146 BC. M. Which led to her cultural components being stolen by her enemies and on top of them Rome at that time and Baal became the god Saturn by the Romans and before that "Tanite" turned into "Hera" by the Greeks and “Juno Celestes” by the Romans. It should also be pointed out here that what we call the "Crescent of Islam" found in the flag of Tunisia and many other media is in fact a symbol dating back to Carthage and has been used and spread in Carthage only for hundreds of years.
  12. The idea of pluralism is the idea of Carthage with excellence and the first multi-ethnic country was Carthage. Nevertheless, she hasn't seen any civil wars for hundreds of years proving the genius of her political system on the one hand, and the enrichment of her entire people on the other.
  13. The Punic people were the most eloquent and knowledgeable people of the foreign spoken languages in the world where they spoke at least two or three languages, just as Tunisians are today.

The Chance Meeting that Started it All

In 1995, the world was far from the tech revolution it is today. The internet was still in its infancy, and the idea of a search engine that could index and organize the entire web seemed like a distant dream. It was during this time that two brilliant minds, Larry Page and Sergey Brin, crossed paths at Stanford University, and their lives would never be the same.
Larry Page, a computer science student from Michigan, was considering attending Stanford for his doctoral studies. Sergey Brin, a second-year graduate student in the same department, was tasked with showing Page around the campus. Little did they know that this chance encounter would be the catalyst for one of the most influential companies of the 21st century.

The Birth of BackRub and Google

Initially, Page and Brin didn't hit it off. In fact, they found each other "obnoxious" and clashed over their different approaches to problem-solving. However, their shared passion for technology and innovation eventually brought them together, and they began collaborating on a project that would change the world.
In 1996, Page had an idea for cataloging every link on the internet, which he called "BackRub." Brin was intrigued by the concept and joined forces with Page to develop the project further. Together, they worked tirelessly, often pulling all-nighters in their dorm rooms, to refine their creation.
By 1997, BackRub had evolved into a more sophisticated search engine that not only crawled and indexed the web but also ranked pages based on their relevance and importance. This revolutionary approach was the foundation of what would eventually become Google.

The Garage Days and the Launch of Google

In 1998, with their doctoral studies on hold, Page and Brin decided to take the leap and officially launch their search engine. They renamed it "Google," a play on the mathematical term "googol," which represents the number 1 followed by 100 zeros, symbolizing their ambition to organize the immense amount of information on the web.
Operating out of a friend's garage in Menlo Park, California, the duo worked relentlessly to improve their search algorithm and attract users. They funded their venture with a modest $100,000 investment from Andy Bechtolsheim, the co-founder of Sun Microsystems, who was one of the first to recognize the potential of their technology.

The Rise of a Global Giant

Google's growth was nothing short of meteoric. Within a few years, the search engine had gained a loyal following, thanks to its user-friendly interface and unparalleled search results. Page and Brin's innovative approach, which prioritized relevance over traditional ranking methods, quickly made Google the go-to choice for internet users worldwide.
As the company expanded, Page and Brin remained focused on their mission to "organize the world's information and make it universally accessible and useful." They attracted top talent from around the globe and fostered a culture of innovation and employee empowerment, which became the driving force behind Google's success.
In 2004, Google went public, raising $1.67 billion and instantly creating thousands of millionaires among its employees. This was just the beginning of the company's meteoric rise, as it continued to develop groundbreaking products and services, from Gmail and Google Maps to Android and YouTube.

The Billionaire Founders and Their Philanthropic Pursuits

Today, Larry Page and Sergey Brin are among the wealthiest individuals on the planet, with a combined net worth of over $257 billion, according to the Forbes Billionaires List. However, their wealth is not solely a testament to their business acumen but also a reflection of their unwavering commitment to making the world a better place.
Despite stepping down from their executive roles at Alphabet (Google's parent company) in 2019, Page and Brin have remained actively involved in various philanthropic endeavors. Brin, for instance, has donated over $1.1 billion to Parkinson's disease research, making him the largest individual donor to the cause. Page, on the other hand, has pledged to donate his billions to Elon Musk's ambitious projects, citing his belief in the potential of sustainable energy and space exploration.

Beyond Business: Passions and Pursuits

While their professional achievements are remarkable, Page and Brin's lives are equally fascinating beyond the realm of business. Both have a penchant for adventure and thrill-seeking activities, from attending Burning Man festivals in full spandex bodysuits to indulging in extreme sports like kiteboarding and trapeze lessons.
Their love for the finer things in life is also evident in their luxurious possessions, such as sprawling estates, superyachts, and private jets. However, these indulgences are not mere displays of wealth but rather reflections of their curiosity and pursuit of excellence in all aspects of life.

The Legacy of Innovation

As we look back on the journey of Larry Page and Sergey Brin, it's hard not to be inspired by their unwavering determination, creativity, and vision. From their humble beginnings as students to their current status as billionaire innovators, their story is a testament to the power of perseverance, collaboration, and the relentless pursuit of knowledge.
Today, Google's influence extends far beyond the realm of search engines. It has become a verb synonymous with finding information, a symbol of innovation, and a beacon of hope for aspiring entrepreneurs worldwide. And at the heart of this global phenomenon are two brilliant minds who dared to dream big and never lost sight of their mission to make the world a better, more connected place.
As we look to the future, it's exciting to imagine what other groundbreaking innovations Page and Brin will bring to the table. One thing is certain: their legacy will continue to inspire generations to come, reminding us that with passion, dedication, and a touch of brilliance, anything is possible.

2024.05.11 10:47 Few-Ladder9929 Animal farm essay - Edexcel english lit paper 1 40 marker

someone makr this: In the dystopian satire “animal farm”, George Orwell set out to write the abuses of dictatorships, especially that of Stalin and the USSR (of which the novella is an allegory). The importance of loyalty is a very important theme within the novella. It is first used by Old major (who symbolises Karl Marx and his Communist manifesto) to create loyalty to a cause to overthrow man (which symbolises how Vladmir Lenin used the communist manifesto to help overthrow the Tsar Autocracy). Due to the animals being blinded with their devoted loyalty to the farm, the pigs slowly use this opportunity to control and oppress (which Orwell uses to really show how Stalin slowly rose to power due to everyone else being deluded in the cause of the USSR).
1. Through Boxer to show how leaders misused the power indirectly given to them by their own hard-working citizens, to keep the citizens blinded to their usurpation of power. Firstly, Boxer is only “Content with learning only 4 letters” when learning the alphabet. This perhaps shows he is ready to be content In any situation. Ready to be loyal to anyone. This shows the lack of his mental power. This is contrasted with his mantra, “I will work harder”. This shows he would do anything physical to improve the farm but not his mental mindset. Here, he symbolises the Proletariat who would workday and night. Orwell perhaps uses these moments to foreshadow that he would be a victim to his loyalty and does this to teach that whilst the leaders misuse their power, it is because of the working class who in fact generate them more power.
Later in the novella, power indirectly due to boxer’s loyalty is shown to be most important when boxer is shown to be loyal to napoleon because he “looks” at hi m to know if he should “kill” the dogs. The dogs are napoleon’s guard and only source of protection. This shows the ultimate power of boxer, because he could have taken over the farm, and truly establish Old Major’s dream for an animal utopia. However, he does not and lets the governing powers (napoleon) take over and give him orders. This really symbolizes the failure of communism and the proletariat in the USSR – they had the power to have a full rebellion against Stalin but could not due to their mental constraints. Orwell therefore uses the importance of loyalty to demonstrate that it is in fact the proletariat who lead themselves to their grave – and those in power are able to only due to the ignorance and lack of intelligence of their working class – the basis for their country.
2. The importance of loyalty is shown through napoleon, because orwell uses him to expose how leaders use loyalty to get what they want. When napoleon introduces an optional task he says that it is “merely” any hard work but if no one chooses to do it their “rations” would be “cut off”. Napoleon indirectly forces the animals to work, but to do this, napoleon uses doublespeak – a technique that (like Stalin) may have used in their speech to make the truth sound more palatable – the truth of work. This is an allegoric reference to Stalin and how he presented the five years plan to be achieving and its benefits, deluding the proletariat in that dream and forcing them to work. Orwell therefore cruticises how leaders manipulate their population in order to cultivate loyalty to the cause the leaders create to fulfil their selfish desires. Additionally, napoleon creates loyalty towards him when the dogs “tore [the pigs] throats out”. This is visceral imagery happening right in front of the animal eyes. Napoleon would therefore be scared off, and no one would want to do anything to him, and this is how napoleon cultivated loyalty. This is symbolic to the great purges in 1937, where Stalin publicly executed absolutely anyone that could take over his power. One of the most famous ways he did this was through show trials in Moscow, and they were public to inject fear into the proletariat, keeping them subservient to his totalitarian regime. Orwell therefore uses this to highlight how leaders use extreme violence to create loyalty. This therefore emphasises its importance
3. Loyalty Is ironically important through the 7 commandments. This is because whilst it is the sacrosanct that the animals have to abide to, the creators really break the fundamental rule when they create it. This is because when the pigs make it, they are shown to have power over Old Major’s thought and this perhaps shows that they already have power over the other animals. This breaks their last commandment “all animals are equal”. This perhaps symbolises the krondstadt rebellion where the sailors who were devoted to the cause of the USSR were assassinated by the likes of Lenin – who was also devoted to the cause but was more of a leader. Orwell uses this to teach those who present themselves to be the solution to the disease are worser than the disease itself. This shows the importance of loyalty because whilst the leaders advocate rules equality, creating loyalty within the population, they slowly change it to fulfil their avarice.
This idea is in fact further developed by the changing of the commandment “all animals are equal” to “all animals are equal, but some are more equal than others”. This shows that Napoleon is advocating equality, but he now does it in a paradoxical way. This symbolises how Stalin had took control of the whole of the USSR whilst advocating equality. Orwell therefore uses this to demonstrate how leaders present themselves as advocates towards a good cause, creating loyalty within the citizens. However, they are really against the cause, using it for their own greed, which perpetuates injustice towards the proletariat. Here, corruption of power is shown and this shows how leaders can become corrupt by power by bliniding their population with the loyalty and hope fused in them.

Loyalty is shown through the sheep and their mantra “four legs good, two legs bad”. The sheep chants this whenever it is needed, and this loyalty of the shee is used by napoleon to keep his animals subservient. The sheep represent the part of the USSR (or any dictatorship for that matter) who do not know what they are supporting/doing but continue doing it anyway. Orwell perhaps create sympathy for these deluded beings as they really fight for injustice towards them, without knowing it. Orwell criticises how leaders utilise these people’s unknown loyalty against them.

Overall, loyalty is a heavy theme in the novella. Orwell uses it to not only explore how leaders use it to fulfil their gluttony, but he exposes how the proletariat give the power to the leaders due to their undevoted loyalty to a cause.

2024.05.11 08:15 niteowl099 Cipher errors in dancing men? Am I alone in frustration? [spoiler]

It seems that there are widely distributed graphical errors in the symbols used for the dancing men in the "Adventure of the Dancing Men" in "The Return of Sherlock Holmes." I was wondering if anyone else found this frustrating when trying to decipher the code or if I am missing some other interpretation for the discrepancy in the symbols used in many/most texts available online (html, pdfs, book scans, etc.)
As I starting reading this story, I found the cipher interesting and thought it would be fund to try to decipher on my own before the solution was given. I spent a couple of hours figuring it out and getting most of it correct but couldn't figure out how to deal with prepare and never because the text I used had images where the "v" in never is the same figure as the two "p's in prepare. Also, the "r in never is different than the two "r's in prepare (also the same as the "b" in abe). I got frustrated that I couldn't get the cipher to work and thought I was missing something in the text or something else. When I figured out prepare, then the "never" word would be "?epe?" and didn't make sense but then when I figured out never was the better response, then "v?eva?e" made even less sense especially since I figured out the entire sentence "elsie, prepare to meet thy god" and that seemed awesome and appropriate. I worked out everything else though couldn't confirm it with other parts as abe slaney and elriges weren't common enough names for me to verify they made sense. I finally caved and looked to the internet to figure out how badly I failed only to find out my two different interpretations were both correct but didn't find anything addressing the incompatibility of the symbols used in a simple substitution cipher. [Edit: eventually found a source see below but without much explanations]
Assuming there would be someone else complaining about this on the internet, and/or a clear description that the cipher has some discrepancies and/or some other explanation (Elsie or Abe didn't remember the code correctly or had different "dialects" in their version of the code, etc.) but at least in the searching I did, I didn't find anything that really addressed this issue. That usually makes me think I made a mistake somehow or missed something relevant. Sherlock seems to make his deductions based on probability of word choice without the constraint that once figure is assigned a letter that then there should be no redundancy in figures used for a single letter, nor should a single figure represent two different letters (the bigger potential issue?).
I have seen modified versions of the figures where this isn't a problem, but no one seems to explain that there was an issue in original figures used. Maybe these are just the ones associated with copyright free images gathered from the same source, but I was wondering if the original print editions had these same issues. I really find it weird that there isn't more internet chatter about this. Hopefully someone can help me understand this. Do people just not spend the time to really look at the cipher even as Holmes explains his deductive reasoning? It seems like that would be something that would have been fun to try to work out for many readers.
I am feeling like I am missing something obvious to many others.
Link to text, but similar in many different versions available online: https://sherlock-holm.es/stories/html/danc.html
It seems like it was even produced in his original handwritten manuscript: https://www.arthur-conan-doyle.com/index.php/File:Manuscript-the-dancing-men-p17.jpg

I have to admit, if there isn't anything I am missing, I may have lost some respect for Mr. Holmes cognitive abilities ;) Part of me is hoping it's a problem in my brain, not his. Perhaps, I am missing the many observations obvious to him that he constantly reminds Watson he fails to see. lol.
\"Never\" - V in \"never\" is same as p's in \"prepare;\" R in never is different than r's in prepare
\"Prepare\"
[Edit] - I found an explanation at https://www.arthur-conan-doyle.com/index.php/Dancing_Men_Alphabet that suggests that the angle of the foot or a slight angle of the body vs being completely upright can explain the difference between p and v, but that seems within the normal variation between many different "e's so I find that a a post-hoc rationalization more than real explanation. They also admit the mistake with B figure used for the R in never.
