So for context I’m female (18) and got a full scholarship to study abroad. My father, an emirate sexually molested me when I was 9 all the way until I was 11. He threatened me when I told him to stop and used fear to scare me into submission as he knew I was terrified of him. I have confronted him before and he apologized and says I should forgive him because he is my father.
I said that’s not how it works, but he kept going on about religion and tradition that I should respect him and therefore forgive him “for my own good” which Ik is all bogus. I gave him three conditions and that was to stop touching me in any way, control his anger and not yell all the time, and finally start respecting my mother. He said no to all 3. Which shows he doesn’t give two shits abt my forgiveness. Oh and he was also cheating on my mom. He married a Filipino woman and had a son with her behind my mother’s back. And then proceeded to blame us for him cheating.
Fast forward, I am now abroad with my mom and I confronted him again because he kept harassing us and calling in the middle of the night demanding to know where we were and why we weren’t answering him (he could’ve googled the time difference, but ofc he didn’t care enough to). So I confronted him again and told him to just leave me alone and let me be. He called me crazy for asking for space and telling him to stop texting me until I can get past the trauma of him sexually molesting me for years. Then he proceeded to threaten me saying he’ll take my passport away and get my scholarship cancelled (I am already abroad and start next week so the tuition fees are already paid for) also he has to pay the scholarship back if we break the contract which he can’t do as he does not have the money. But he will certainly do anything to satisfy his hurt ego.
He always blames others for his mistakes. He even said he was sorry for himself that he ended up in this situation when he should be sorry to me. And then told me I can’t make decisions because I’m a girl. He threatened my education, life and future career. Can he actually do anything as I am 18, but I am also a girl. Thanks.

My MIL has been pushing boundaries my entire relationship with my husband. We've been together going on 11 years. Sometimes I think she's just dense and can't read the room, and sometimes I think she is conniving and manipulating. I still haven't figured it out. We have a 3 month old, our first, and I feel she constantly is taking opportunities away from me. She watches him sometimes while I have to go to work, which is a godsend because it is free and I feel more comfortable with him there vs a daycare with people I don't know, but I still get miffed about the absolutely bizarre things she does. When I was pregnant she got my husband a Father's Day gift from our UNBORN/UNNAMED child and wrote him a card from our baby... I had not even had the chance to get him anything yet before she gave it to him. Today when my husband picked our son up (he was off work before me) he came home with a cake that our son "made him" for his birthday... (his birthday is tomorrow). It says "happy birthday daddy <3 -our child's name-". I am SO freaking annoyed and pissed. AITAH for feeling this way?? I've tried my best to make boundaries before (for example asking her to NOT get our son an insane amount of gifts and keep it at MAX 5, she still pushes this envelope, and during Christmas time to not get him and gifts from Santa as that is something my husband and I would just like us to do). Any help on how I can tell her to please stop gifting things on behalf of my son??

When I first got pregnant I decided I wanted to breastfeed. Once I had my baby boy he didn’t want to latch and didn’t eat much, the nurse said it was fine and most babies don’t eat much their first couple feedings and the few drops he got were enough. Then the next time the nurse came by to check on us my son got sent to the nicu. He was in there for ten days and while he was in there I pumped every 3 hours and brought him milk every day, I felt like it was the only thing I could do to take care of him. Once he was released from the hospital and home with me I tried breastfeeding again, he still had issues latching but we were able to get him to using a nipple shield. But his pediatrician said he wasn’t eating enough (he wasn’t gaining weight) and to pump then bottle feed to make sure he was getting a good amount. The issue is with taking care of him I no longer have the time to pump every three hours, I try pumping as often as I can but that leaves sometimes only being able to pump once a day. Now my supply has massively dropped, like I only get half an ounce when I pump and baby boy is mostly eating formula. He’s a month old now and at this point I just want to give up but then I feel so guilty for wanting to give up, like I’m just being lazy and I should care more and work harder to bring my supply back and I’ll miss crucial bonding if I don’t breastfeed my son. I feel like I already missed a lot of bonding with him being in the nicu for the first ten days of his life and I know it’s crazy but I wonder if he even sees me as his mommy as I wasn’t able to properly take care of him and now I’m not able to feed him and I feel selfish for just wanting to give him formula because I hate pumping so much but I know breast milk is good for him and everyone at the hospital was pushing for breastfeeding, is it selfish to give up and just formula feed?

My 3.5 year old son has been waking up from a 10-12 hour sleep in the morning and will immediately become fixated on something he wants to do. For example, on the weekends, my husband takes him to Target, or I walk him in the stroller to Chinatown, but he asks for this during the weekday, which isn't possible.
He'll even tell us, "I'm stuck!" and keep repeating he wants to go to Target and it's open, and he gets into these blind obsessions that are almost impossible to snap him out of.
Anyone else experience this? How can we overcome this?

Applied for my son in December 2023. Things seemed to be moving a long quickly. Early April, I had the PERC phone interview. I have not been able to have a job for about a year now due to no childcare. I have been doing random tasks and opportunities online (swagbucks, freecash, etc), selling items on Ebay, donating plasma almost twice a week, every week, and other small things, to make ends meet. It's not an easy thing to document but I had everything written out and ready to explain/list for this interview. My case workerep didn't seem to care about being accurate at all. She didn't care about half of the income items, which I assumed was because they didn't count as income for SSI, but she wasn't interested in being thorough for the other stuff either. She kept classifying my online task work as 'online gambling' when there is no gambling involved and I kept correcting her. She got very pissy and short with me and kept saying "it's the same thing", when it most definitely is not and I don't want 'online gambling' on my paperwork.
Fast forward 3 weeks later, and I don't hear anything, when I was told to expect an award letter soon. I spend a week calling and leaving messages for her, and nothing. I showed up to the local office after that and although she was working from home that day, it took no time at all for her to call me as I was leaving the place. She said she couldn't 'read' the paperwork I dropped off and said she sent in a deposit request to my bank and it should take 2 days. 2 weeks later and multiple phone calls, I show up to the office again. I start to speak with a random person that called my number and my actual case worker pops in behind her and says 'I just need her to sign something". She tells me her mentor looked over the PERC paperwork and said it wasn't sufficient. So I get handed a piece of paper and told to fill it out with all of my income, going back to August 2023. This is exactly what I was trying to do from day 1 of this part of the process. Also, not sure why they need back to August now, when I filed in December, but I did it and filled the entire page with tiny handwriting, because that's what had to be done.
This rep has dragged this out unnecessarily and is obviously new or very bad at her job. Hi friends, I'm back with thoughts on my new Nui Cobalt Critters! For my reviews of 24 past Critters (including all of the Rabbits and Squirrels), see my recent post HERE. As I wrote before, this collection isn't entirely sweet cuddly woodland creatures, but it does have a lot of those, including three of my all-time favorite Nui Cobalts: Little Brown Rabbit, Little White Rabbit, and Lilac Rabbit (so of course I had to try this year's new Rabbit!) Here are my thoughts on five of this year's new releases, with an unexpected favorite...
Ordering specs: Nui Cobalt's website is easy to navigate, shipping is very affordable at $3.45, items come very securely packed, and customer service is always spectacular. I don't think I've ever placed an order that took more than 2-3 business days to ship (and recently it has usually been literally the very next day). Samples are generous - 1.15 mls at least - in vials with wand caps. Each order comes with one free sample, chosen by them (there’s no box to insert requests).
Nui Cobalt's typical annual schedule of releases: (I [and especially Nui Cobalt] make no promises, of course, that these collections will recur; this is just in my experience)
Golden Retriever [Sunflower, amber resin, budding dogwood, fenugreek, and fresh-baked bread] Toast! A warm, ambery, spiced scent featuring toast made from a slightly sweetened bread. It's remarkable how sunny and summery this is - yet it's unmistakeably toast, and I keep getting distracted by this scent as I do other things, absentmindedly wondering where the breakfast is. If you like Poesie Amaterasu [Golden sandalwood incense, rice milk, bright cardamom, amber, dry wheat, and sunflowers], you'd love this; it has that same amiable warmth (though, of course, without the cardamom). As it starts to dry, the botanicals (the dogwood and fenugreek) come out more strongly (still with spiced ambery toast as a strong base note).
Red Admiral Butterfly [Blood orange, nasturtium flower, coriander, subtle blackwood, wild strawberry, and fresh garden basil] - This strawberry-blood orange combination is fabulous - the blood orange actually doesn't stick out much by itself, but it makes the strawberry note super juicy and takes away the candied artificiality of most strawberry notes in perfume. LOVE. I'm not super into this strong basil note, though. I love fruity-florals, but not so much fruity-herbals, and this is very much "juicy strawberry + basil and other dried herbs from a witch's cottage" (the "other dusty herbs" bit must be from the coriander note?). If they ever do that strawberry-blood orange combo again, I'll be all over it, it's quite stunning!
Black Sheep [Clean lamb's wool accord, myrrh resin, black seed, ambrette, and barely a whisper of oudh] - This is dusty twilight in a bottle. It's peaceful evening; it's cozy winter snuggles; it's the exhale when you can finally rest. It's undeniably dark, but soft and gentle, and I'd even describe it as gauzy. There is indeed but a whisper of myrrh and oud, just enough to make it dusty and dark, with the softest (and totally non-sheepy) cashmere and clean, slightly powdery ambrette. It doesn't have great longevity, lasting just under half a day on me, but holy wow is it amazing. I didn't know what to expect with this one - just looking at the notes, it's easy to think it could be too smoky or harsh - but it's beautiful.
Black Swan [Smooth tobacco, wild violet, humid black orchid, Peru balsam, clove bud, and a touch of star anise] - This feels like the bolder cousin of Black Sheep - it shares the same kind of dark, dusky beauty, but is significantly stronger, bolder, and less cuddly. The violets and anise (licorice) are strongest, with a really fruity purple plum/fig note too that's not at all listed but definitely arrives on my skin, over a base of the smoothest tobacco. Husband loves this tobacco. "Bring me that bottle," he declared upon sniffing my wrist, "I want to see what it does on my skin." And woah, it's SO different on him - the balsam is SO much stronger, making this a woody tobacco with a gently floral background. Are any of us surprised that he snaffled it?
Harlequin Rabbit [Nutmeg and tonka bean nuzzle up against toasted marshmallow, auburn cashmere, white pepper, black tea, and a trace of carrot seed] - Where Little Brown Rabbit is the snuggly evening one, Little White Rabbit is the clean elegant one, and Lilac Rabbit the soft pretty one, Harlequin Rabbit feels to me like the rainy-day one. I love this concept of the harlequin rabbit - that's a real rabbit coloring, by the way, and SUPER pretty, look it up! - created here by the Rabbit base plus black and white notes. This scent features a strong marshmallow note, the pretty, clean soapiness of Little White Rabbit, and malty notes not yet recognizable as black tea. It's cheeky, to be sure, but it also feels young, like it needs time to grow into itself. Nui Cobalt has a gorgeous black tea note, but it's surprisingly (and disappointingly) not that strong in this scent. Right now, Harlequin Rabbit feels like tea-dusted marshmallows (plus that soapy cottonflower note) rather than the more autumnal "rich black tea with marshmallow sweetness and a peppery bite" that I'm hoping it will develop into. I think it'll get there with a little aging, and indeed, the black tea and white pepper have already become stronger just over the course of my multiple wears of this, one a few days after its arrival and the other just yesterday (a week and a half later). Meanwhile, Husband interestingly smells generic "spices" from the tea and pepper, and says that the scent overall reminds him of Christmas markets (and he's quite enthusiastic in his praise of this one on me).

Personally...
I like Harlequin Rabbit (and it will certainly join my collection, standing alongside my other beloved Rabbits) but I don't yet love it as much as I thought I would. I really do think it just needs time to finish growing into itself. Black Sheep is the quiet standout for me - she's soft and unassuming, but she's a stunner. Red Admiral Butterfly is also quite a triumph - that glorious juicy strawberry! - and anybody who likes (or at least won't mind) the herbal notes should absolutely give it a try. All five of these truly have such artistry and strength of character, so you can't go wrong if you pick the ones that have notes you love.2024.05.14 15:13 Noble_Valentine Monster Tracker Monsters are stronger?

I am currently trying to figure out what a good custody schedule would be like. My ex moved abt 1.5 hrs away, our son been little so it’s been okay meeting often but as he ages, it’s starting to become too much esp with school starting. I never wanted to drive so much so often but just did it to avoid confrontation. With school starting this changes though. After a yr long battle and debates, we are at our closest to agreeing. He wants 3 weekends a month, I get one weekend and son will be with me M-F for school. Summers 50/50. I want M-F & every other weekend, summers 50/50. I just want to be able to have free time with my child as well, and esp with sports or extracurricular activities he will do as he ages is dad really going to drive him every single weekend if need be? Etc etc. I’m curious to see what everyone does for custody and what court gave you.

I’ve posted here before, and since i gave very little information, i got attacked and i was told im the problem.
Well here’s the whole story.
My mother in law is a very dominant person in nature, she always wanted everything under her control, keep in mind i’m from india while reading this.
(APRIL 2023)engagement saree: in my culture, the husband’s family buy the engagement saree, since we’re not in 540 BC most of the families nowadays let the bride choose her favourite, but my mother in law chose the saree, since she had a gold and pink themed engagement in her mind, i actually liked the saree and i said yes. She didn’t let me choose the makeup artist, she booked one already for me, and even paid her in advance. somehow everything went well and i liked the outcome. i never had any rift with her, i really liked her.
after the engagement my husband and i went on a lunch date, she saw me and pat on my belly and said i should lose fat, bitch? i’m nowhere near fat, it was something like periods belly
My wedding was in august 2023. between april and august, this is where i see her true colours. Meantime she became close with her son’s best friend ( who is actually his gf but he brought her home saying she’s just a friend and the girl(let’s call her kat) was trying so hard to win her)
after the wedding: mostly in indian cultures , the daughter in law has to live with the husbands family. i absolutely hated every minute of it, they criticised the shit outta me.
to my surprise, my mother in law and father in law live seperately in the same area, their houses are 8 mins away from each other.
in my mother in laws house, there’s this new guy ( whom my husband and BIL calls uncle) this uncle(43years old) is an un married, alcoholic guy who passes shit comments about random women. body shames woman while watching a tv show, or when we go out. i hated his behaviour.
you might think this guy is my mil’s own brother, or a cousin or somehow a relative. none of it. he’s just a random someone who’s living full time in this house.
i wouldn’t have given a fuck if no one bothered me. but this uncle mocks me everytime i dress up, do my makeup. when he sees me cooking and he criticises me. when he sees me doing anything in the world, he criticises me. mocks me , my mil , bil and this bastard laugh together.
i felt kinda off since she’s keeping this as a secret from her husband, my fil doesn’t know he’s staying with her full time, for my mils bday this uncle got her a diamond ring , which she hid from her husband, she showed the gifts from me, her sons and her mom but hid the gift from uncle.
he got her a dyson ( which is whole another story, i told my husband i wanted dyson for my birthday, i also mentioned the color blue since it’s available in india, i guess my husband has the habit of telling her everything, just before my bday she went and bought the blue dyson air wrap) and didn’t even tell my husband / her husband. l randomly spilled it to my husband since she wanted it to be a secret. i did it intentionally.
one random day i was checking pinterest i check the messages where i saw a old message i sent to her profile , like a hi or something.. i went to her profile, i saw a board where she saved all the quotes like “you stroke me in places where my hands cannot reach” all such sexy quotes, she also has another board where she saved good morning pics that she usually sends to me and my family. at this point im only speculating, i cannot let a random outsider mock me, also my fil is a very good person, keeping things from him and forcing me to act accordingly is also annoying to me
she’s always been all about appearances, my father in law is shorter than her, kinda fat. also looks old but he’s very rich. maybe that’s why they live separately since she doesn’t like to be seen together with my fil, i’m saying she all about appearances because she only talks to people who look pretty, in my wedding , people from my dads side kinda don’t dress well but they’re good people, she didn’t even wanna shake hands or smile at them when i introduced her to my family. one of my friends was kinda fat and dark, she didn’t even talk to her but she went and took pictures with my other two friends who looked slim and fair.
one time she introduced me to her zumba class friends as “sisters daughter” and without any shame asks me to call her mom since we met. i will never call her mom.
one time it got so much i couldn’t handle and i called my husband and cried about it, my mother in law said they were all just joking and i took everything seriously.
i cannot understand how a literal outsider was given so much power to hurt their daughter in law, and when confronted they support him. he once mocked me for my makeup and i didn’t even respond to him, he texted me saying “hope ur not upset, i did just for fun” this is not a apology
on top of it so many times my mil has come in between me and my husband, since me and my husband are doing a long distance relationship, he comes to india for 2 weeks breaks, ever since we got married in august, we’ve only spend 56 days together. so this time due to olympics he’s getting one month off and we planned a japan trip. my mil immediately said she would also join and said we can go to dubai.
i had to explain my husband how this is not okay since we only had 56 days together and having a family trip is not okay, he somehow explained her and changed the plan to bali. but she was still upset.
even while we’re planning the trip, she asks my husband to send the itinerary, wants to know every detail from the hotel we’re staying to places we’re gonna go
i went back to my parents house since everyday it’s a problem with her and the uncle. i wanted to go LC with her. she called my mom and complained that i don’t text her or call her and that she misses me. if she really misses me , she could text me instead of telling my husband, my mom, my dad , and her relatives. when i see her relatives they’re asking me why i don’t text or call her.
the list goes on, i’ll edit things when something pops up in my head, i got so exhausted from just typing out few things that happened in a span of 8 months
also my husband and i are waiting for the visa, im giving this marriage one last chance, im hoping things will be better if i live alone with him.

- around may, i was asked to come to her city because my mil and kat booked a dance workshop, my mil thought i wouldn’t dance well, im a dancer since school days and i never told anyone, at the workshop i danced so well but my mil never complimented me, she was only complimenting kat. 😭
- around june, mil randomly calls me and tells me that she bought a outfit for my pre wedding ceremonies ( haldi and cocktail) i was like ??? um without ny presence, she kept saying that it’s so pretty and i’ll love it. since my engagement saree pretty and she chose it, i thought maybe she wouldn’t do something bad
- when i saw the haldi outfit, it was literally a disaster, the neck was deep, the shoulders were falling off, it was ugly overall. my cocktail outfit she chose looked like something grandmas would wear on funeral.
- somehow i made last minute changes and changed my cocktail outfit, still wasn’t the best.
- what made me upset was, my mil and kats outfit were the best in the ceremony, idk why she chose the ugliest one for me and chose the best one for me, it really gave me a bad feeling about this woman.

So no spoilers for the actual podcast itself. I did some searching and couldn't find any post about this topic, but one thing everyone needs to be prepared for is character death in Call of Cthulhu.
Unlike 5e, where your characters are basically superheroes after around level 6, CoC investigators are just regular humans, with all the vulnerability that comes with it. I played in one game of CoC where by sheer bad luck, one of my tablemates went through two characters in a single session, once due to sanity loss, the other he got shot. We all had backup characters, so the game didn't slow down, but it was still wild.
Basically, I'm looking forward to Season 3 and can't wait to see what happens. I'm also happy to talk about the games I've played in to give folks an idea of what it's like.

Get ready for a long one! Going to start this with a little (maybe a lot of) back story, over the last 5-6 years there has been a lot of conflict in my family not always directly involving me but always affecting me causing the family I’m in contact with to get smaller and smaller. My dad passed in 2020 and the family fall out was DRAMATIC to say the least, honestly that could be another Reddit post in of itself but I’m still healing from the trauma. Anyway, that resulted in me going no contact with nearly my dad’s entire family except his two sisters. One I love dearly but am not close with and the other, his youngest sister is like my own sister more than an aunt. We are close in age, have children similar ages, etc. I’m closer to her more than anyone in the world. Now on to my mom… my parents were divorced for about 3.5 years prior to my dads passing, and over the last 6 years her parents also passed and she lost contact with all of her other family… she is virtually alone. I love my mom, it breaks my heart and to make matters worse… I moved to another country 6 months after my dad died.
So let’s get it straight that I have TWO people to call family on my side really and truly. Along side my little brother who cannot be counted on and my aunt who lives a coast away from the rest of my family. A very small family for me now compared to the large family I grew up with…
Let me assure you also that my mom is stilll very much young at 50yo and healthy. She also has had a busy dating life and currently a steady boyfriend… so she’s not some poor old woman wasting away. So. While I’ve been living away I’ve given birth to both of my children… my mom’s first grandchildren and her also being the only grandparent on my side, her seeing them has been very important to me. I have gone to visit once a year and helped her come visit me once . Every visit is a disaster and I manage to disappoint my mom in some way or another even though…. I’m the one traveling across an ocean alone with babies! But still I try. When she came to visit me… it was in 2022 just a week after my son was born… I had gotten really sick after birth, and was in the hospital for a week and then had to go to the hospital daily getting iv meds.. it was a scary and traumatic time and I was so thankful to have my mom there…. Except she cried everyday about how I forced her to travel to another country alone and how we aren’t even doing anything….. again I was sick and just a week post partum… I bit my tongue and was very accommodating but did ask her to take a train/bus to and from the airport because it was far and didn’t want to be alone with both children for extended time due to being sick and weak… I thought this was perfectly reasonable considering she’s an able bodied adult who can read a book or listen to music during a trip and allow my husband to stay home and support me.
Flash forward to a recent trip home… I originally proposed this trip just me and my two children and to stay with my mom( again even though my family is small, it’s important to me she sees my kids) however my husband now has the opportunity with work to come with me…. Great now I don’t have to fly alone with two toddlers! When my in laws find out (by the way they have come to visit us twice and they live pretty far away on the opposite coast my family lives on) they decide they want to come too… meaning they’re gonna fly out an visit my coast so we can have a big family trip with both our families. I tell my mom nervously because I know she can be irritated by things like this but she acts excited for the trip still! So my MIL, FIL, BIL, SIL, and two nieces all fly out and get beach rental just a few houses down from where my mom lives. When the time comes it works out that we were there 2 days before and 2 days after my in laws and they’re there for 6 days in the middle. The way I planned it in my head was that we’d spend the first two days with my mom and the last two, as well as sometime with just my in laws in the middle while my mom worked and some combined time all together. And we were also staying with my mom so we were often together in the evenings as well. Sounds great, right? No.
The morning of my in-laws last day… she was acting weird, slamming doors, not coming up to say good morning like usual and then just getting in her car to leave for work. I stepped outside to wave bye and share barely acknowledged me, and I knew I was in for it. That day we took the kids to the park and I was feeling sad my mom couldn’t be there to join us and also sad that she was upset, so I sent her and I love you text.. to which I got “I made plans for tonight don’t worry about me”. Oh. Okay. I thought she’d join us for dinner to see my in laws off but no, she’d made plans. Fair enough but in comes the onslaught of texts. Of how I was constantly choosing to spend time with my in-laws over her, even though she was invited along every time aside from when she was at work… but she declined. She was so upset about this she told me she didn’t want to see us the rest of the trip… meaning the last full two days I had planned to dedicate to her… canceled… because essentially she didn’t want to go to the aquarium one day with all of us and want time to us all by herself and she didn’t come out and say it… and sorry my kids love the aquarium and it was raining so a great activity. But for her the value of the trip came down to the one specific moment and get this… she really wants me to know she’s still upset I made her come to Spain two years ago. I continued to try to reason with her but she threw insults that I feel can never taken back, she continuously called and yelled at me till I ended up blocking her for some peace. And moved our stuff over to my aunts for our last days. I did unblock her so she could calmly reach back out after 24 hours. Which she did and asked to see the kids and say goodbye, to which I agreed. We did have a very nice talk which resolved the tensions. But I’m left feeling really hurt by her insults… and a comment she kept making over and over “I’ll always just be your mom to you and that’s not fair” - i understand she is more than a mom but to me she is my mom and I largely still need her to be my mom because she’s the only parent I have left so I just don’t know how to treat her differently. I’m left wondering am I not treating her the way I should be? How should I be treating her in a way that is “not just my mom”? Did I spend to much time with my in-laws? I’m feeling really uneasy about our relationship and wondering am I the asshole here??? Or do I need to just set some boundaries and stand firm?

Family time on mothers day with brothers in Canada. I've got two boomer parents and they raised 3 millennials (One being on the boarder of Genx-Millennial) with me being the youngest millennial. Two older brothers are hyper conservative Justin Trudeau Hating , pay too much taxes , hate the gays and immigrants gaming the system (Hypocrisy cause one brother is in the trades doing cash jobs half the time of course)
We were lower middle class but they raised us with love and gave us everything they could and sacrificed so much time working extra to pay for expensive things like hockey and family trips. Honestly they are amazing.
Brothers proceed to start ripping into all the usual conservative talking points for a few minutes and my boomer dad is just listening as he usually does because he doesn't like to discuss politics. I attempt to retort some completely incorrect points " Well Health Care is fucked because of the PM" (me) "Well no, the provinces are responsible for that portfolio" and its quickly turning into 2v1 where I just give up and walk away so they can continue the hate parade. Boomer dad who doesn't say much just gets up and walks into the middle of us, glares at my two brothers and opens his mouth to say something like this (Paraphrased) :
" Well boys, I thought I raised you better then this, you hit the fucking birth lottery living where we do. We raised to you be thankful for what you've got. You are both wildly more successful then me and your kids are far better off then you yet all you can do is sit here and spew hate and angry about the world. Your fridge is full of food, your drinking water isn't going to kill you, you live in one of the safest countries on the planet , You can love who you want to love and not be murdered, you don't have to worry about being bombed or invaded yet you ungrateful fucks are crying about gay people or immigrants wanting to seek a better life. You should both feel ashamed about the shit that you are spewing, you spoiled little twats"
Then just walked away. They didn't say shit and looked stunned for a solid 20 seconds before their lizard brain kicked in and said " what the fuck was that about" I just said " Dads right" and walked away too.
My dad is the most calm chill guy yet he just fucking unloaded on them, caught us all off guard and made the rest of mothers day dinner extremely awkward, especially when he basically gave another speech before dinner about how lucky they were to be together as a family and enjoy the meal while glaring at my two brothers when talking about how grateful he was.
It was fucking epic. I had a ton of respect for my dad prior to this , but he just sky rocketed to total fucking chad levels of awesome. (My mom is the same just would never say it out loud)
I called my dad the next day to thank him for 1) raising me with as much love as he did and 2) for verbally bitch slapping my brothers.
I am a very lucky person to be raised by them.
This is a shit on boomer sub but some boomers are awesome and we need to be reminded of that sometimes. Hence this post.

Then just walked away. They didn't say shit and looked stunned for a solid 20 seconds before their lizard brain kicked in and said " what the fuck was that about" I just said " Dads right" and walked away too.
My dad is the most calm chill guy yet he just fucking unloaded on them, caught us all off guard and made the rest of mothers day dinner extremely awkward, especially when he basically gave another speech before dinner about how lucky they were to be together as a family and enjoy the meal while glaring at my two brothers when talking about how grateful he was.
It was fucking epic. I had a ton of respect for my dad prior to this , but he just sky rocketed to total fucking chad levels of awesome. (My mom is the same just would never say it out loud)
I called my dad the next day to thank him for 1) raising me with as much love as he did and 2) for verbally bitch slapping my brothers.
I am a very lucky person to be raised by them.
This is a shit on boomer sub but some boomers are awesome and we need to be reminded of that sometimes. Hence this post.

Recording an open verdict on the case, State Coroner Adam Nakhoda said that the identity of the man who died of coronary artery disease and an enlarged heart in his Geylang Bahru flat on 5 Aug 2022, remains unknown.
What is known about this man?
It has been established previously that the name “Abdul Rahman Bin Majid” was not the real identity of the deceased man and the name was likely to have been stolen at some point, since the real Mr Abdul Rahman was revealed to have been residing at an assisted care facility in Buangkok since 1994 following a chronic schizophrenia diagnosis
The State Coroner also noted that Mdm Seri and Mr Iskandar (the deceased's wife and son respectively) have stated that they did not know or see the real Mr Abdul Rahman before. Mr Abdul Rahman had also previously indicated he did not recall the deceased man, although his schizophrenia prevented him from providing further details
Reasons for the identity theft remain unclear, with the following comments from the State Coroner:
An old construction pass and a bank card was found in the unit, both of which had the name “Abdul Rahman Bin Majid”, or its shorter form, printed on them
The pass also bore the identity card number that the man had assumed as his own
Did taking fingerprints help?
While fingerprints were taken from both the real Mr Abdul Rahman and the deceased man, they only helped to confirm the previously-mentioned fact that the identity was stolen, without giving any further clues to the deceased man's identity. The fingerprints taken from the real Mr Abdul Rahman matched the ones linked to his identity card, while those taken from the dead man could not be found in the local database
With the local database being a dead end, the fingerprints were sent to Malaysian and Indonesian authorities for comparison with their national databases, however both jurisdictions replied that there was no match in their databases either
The fingerprints were also sent to Thai authorities for comparison on Aug 15, 2023, but as of 8 May 2024, the Thai authorities had not replied despite multiple reminders
The State Coroner added on the possibility of the case being reopened should there be fresh information from the Thai authorities
However, there was some indication from one of the deceased's sons, Mr Farizal, that their father had come to Singapore from Malaysia
The deceased also had a close friend from Malaysia. This friend had addressed the deceased as “Kassim”, with Mr Razef recalling that he was last seen during Hari Raya in 2019
In addition, several other individuals, including Mdm Seri’s younger sister, had told investigators that her family also addressed the deceased as “Kassim”
“As such, it was possible that the deceased’s real name was Kassim... Without a valid name or NRIC number, the deceased would not have been able to avail himself of services, including medical treatment at polyclinics or restructured hospitals.” the State Coroner commented
The State Coroner also noted that the deceased had been suffering from chronic illnesses but they remained undiagnosed as he was unable to seek medical attention

The last 18 months, since becoming the CEO, has been an extremely difficult time for the Intellivision business. A long list of disappointments from both inside and outside of the company had to be taken head on. During this time we laid off a large portion of our staff, restructured our management team, and began the process of reevaluating every aspect of the business, which included the path that lay ahead for Intellivision.

Couldn't help myself to post what looked like a difference in my face a little before my soberversary. I've seen so many before and after photos that helped me. Right is at Coney island with my son last April. Left is a few days ago for Mother's day. Seeing others' physical successes has really helped me stay motivated, so if someone sees their face bloated and dull skin and wonders how they can ever make these changes, it can and will happen. I probably stopped and started a hundred times over the years, but being sober is just the healthiest choice for me right now. So glad for this big change. I've grown professionally, grown my family, achieved some personal goals, including being a DV and r*pe crisis volunteer advocate (a cause close to my heart). Volunteering and focusing on serving others and my son has really kept me centered.
