2024.03.19 14:05 chippydad62854321 Organ - "with drawbars or without"

Been playing synth in my band for the past 2 years. (intermediate noob) have a Hammond xm(c)-2 with a drawer bar setup helping to reduce the load on my 'pc as sound module' Ableton live when i need organ patches.
never used the bars in live context. (what am i missing)
any example of songs which chang the draw bars mid-song i need to look into? looking to remove the bars from my system and simply rely on the patch changes to do it. Thoughts?

2022.08.07 18:10 Intrepid_Wanderer #SayTheirNames: 19-year-old Angela Belinda Scott and 15-year-old Delores Jean Smith

Normally I would do a separate profile for each of these girls, but the cases of 19-year-old Angela and 15-year-old Delores are tightly connected. The same abortion facility lethally injured both teenagers in less than an hour, killing them both.
The date was June 2, 1979. Angela and Delores were taken to Atlanta Women's Pavillion, a member of the National Abortion Federation. The co-owners of the facility were Jacob Adams, Otis Hammonds and Olly C. Duckett.
The first to go under the knife was Angela. Adams carried out the abortion while Angela was under general anesthesia. She was sent to the recovery room and Delores was brought in for her abortion. Nurse Teresa Stearns administered anesthesia to Delores even though she was not certified to do that.
While she was in the recovery room, Angela went into cardio-respiratory arrest. Stearns ran to check on Angela, leaving Delores unconscious and unsupervised with an IV anesthesia drip still running.
Angela had no heartbeat and was not breathing, but the facility didn’t report the problem as an emergency, leading to a 15-minute delay in the arrival of the ambulance.
Angela was resuscitated and loaded into the ambulance, but at this point Delores was also in cardio-respiratory arrest. She had been left alone the entire time with the anesthesia drip still going. Now she was dying from a lethal overdose while abortionist Jacob Adams rode in the ambulance to the hospital where Angela would spend her last few days of life in a coma.
The ambulance could have taken both teenagers to the hospital immediately, but the facility refused to release 15-year-old Delores until Adams came back from the hospital, which meant it took an extra half an hour before the dying girl was taken by an ambulance.
Both girls spent the rest of their lives in comas. 19-year-old Angela died on June 9 at the hospital. Her mother sued the facility, the three owners and the nurse for $12.3 million, calling Atlanta's 10 or so outpatient abortion clinics "unregulated assembly-line abortion mills." (She may have been the one to coin the term “abortion mill”, but this is not confirmed.) At the time, the only regulation for Georgia abortion facilities was a requirement that they had to be overseen by a licensed physician. They really were almost entirely unregulated.
As for 15-year-old Delores, she was comatose in the ICU until she was transferred to a nursing home where she died that October. Her mother also sued the facility for $12.3 million when she found out that the pregnancy test done by the facility was actually negative. Not only was Delores dead, but she had been scheduled and charged for an abortion even though she was not pregnant to begin with.

Spyderco Dragonfly (C) SV 54 - I'll admit, was not taken care of by previous owner. The scales are shit (he used super glue) blade play vertical and horizontal. Stonewash finish on zdp 189. http://imgur.com/a/0dPPp7I
Xm-18 m390 3" no choil gen 4 triway (B) SV 375 - my grail for a long time. has aftermarket hardware on everything but filler tab, clip, and back screws. The original hardware has a stripped screw but includes all original hardware and a black g10 scale
Spyderco southard (B) SV 207 - has aftermarket scales and hardware as well. Really nice looking knife. Only problem you'll find is that the clip is pointy. Includes all original hardware and brown scale/over travel stop
CRKT fulcrum 2 AND Hammond Cruiser selling as bundle only (C) SV 30 - lots of blade play on the fulcrum 2 and some screws have been stripped unfortunately. the hammond cruiser is pretty new tbh.
CRKT long discontinued Hole In One (C) SV 54 - a Tom Hitchcock classic and is similar to the dactyl but is a cleaner design. it has been sharpened and a couple of trails, but it is so freakin fun to fiddle with.

(JUST NOTICED THE SEBENZA IN THE CORNER, Not for sale!!)

willing to do trades, but im pretty picky!
Also, pictures are not working for me currently, am still trying to get them up!

Respect Superman, the Man of Steel!

Dreams save us. Dreams lift us up and transform us. And on my soul, I swear... until my dream of a world where dignity, honor and justice becomes the reality we all share -- I'll never stop fighting. Ever.

On a faraway planet known as Krypton, Kal-El was born to loving parents, the astronaut Lara and scientist Jor-El. But upon discovery that they were living on a doomed planet, Jor-El put baby Kal on an escape rocket to Earth, knowing the Yellow Sun there would grant his son extraordinary powers.
Upon landing in the small town of Smallville, Kansas, Kal was adopted by farmers Martha and Jonathan Kent. Naming him Clark Kent, they raised him virtuously, teaching him ethics and his moral code that he still stands with today.
As he grew older, he moved to the city known as Metropolis and became the hero known as Superman, eventually growing into the best superhero the world has ever seen.

2018.04.15 16:37 pusateri8 [ISO] Compiling a list of Antique or Vintage books relating to sex, sex-ed, erotica, masturbation, pregnancy, abortion, sexual anatomy, etc.

I am a young antique/vintage collector and have recently become fascinated in items relating to sex. That probably sounds weird but let me explain!!! Until coming across a book relating to sex while antique shopping, I honestly always thought that sex hadn’t become a “sexy” activity until the late 1900s. For some reason I always thought that pre-1960 sex wasn’t a pleasurable activity, more like a chore, especially for women. So I am looking for more antique books and vintage books pre-1970 relating to the topics stated in the title...
Here is a list of some I have found online. They are sorted by year of publication.
-Manhood: Causes of its Premature Decline, by Dr. L. Deslandes, 1845 (Ebay Auction)
-La Lutte contre la Prostitution en URSS by Prof. V. Bronner, (english=soviet sex workers(?)) 1936 (Ebay Buy it Now)
-Nudeniks, 1960 (in Etsy lot)
-Sex Without Fear, 1961 (in Etsy lot)
-Sex and the Single Girl by Helen Gurley Brown, 1962 (Ebay Buy it Now)
unknown dates, sorted by estimated date:
Modern books relating to these topics in old times - Rape in Antiquity: Sexual Violence in the Greek and Roman Worlds (Ebay Buy it Now)

2018.02.16 18:36 ghostfacekyle Music Discussion Thread - 2/16

It's that time of the week! Beautiful day for an amateur boxing match and some music talk. I also need T's & P's for battling through this hangover to write this.
NEW RELEASES:
Kendrick Lamar & Q-tip - "Want U 2 Want"
-HOT FIRE. I admittedly support basically anything Kendrick does but this song is something serious. The craziest part is this isn't even an official release or anything, was just premiered on Q-tip's abstract radio on Beats 1. This shit sounds like Kendrick is a 5th ATCQ member, easily my favorite track of the week,
Diplo & DRAM - "Look Back"
-I'm not even a DRAM fan but goddamn who knew he could sing like this? It's usually just some playful yelling from him but he sounds like a legit blues/R&B singer on this, most likely thanks to Diplo. Just a solid track all around, love seeing Diplo work with rappers.
Frank Ocean - "Moon River"
-Audrey Hepburn's song from Breakfast At Tiffany's gets the Frank Ocean cover treatment. Honestly a perfect song for him to cover too. Just a nice, heart felt song from Frank, now give us a whole album randomly please.
O.A.R. - "Just Like Paradise"
-Hey everyone's favorite band during high school is back! Solid track from The Olympic Athletes from Russia as they also just announced a summer tour. Makes sense because this song has a very summer vibe to it, and the horns were a nice touch.
Khalid & Normani - "Love Lies"
-Khalid just doesn't lose. The dude can't even drink legally and is pumping out hit after hit. Him and Normani put together a nice harmony here too.
Moose Blood - "Have I Told You Enough"
-Really good pop punk band from UK that I've mentioned on here a few times already. New album is out March 9th, if you're a pop punk fan I definitely recommend these guys. If you're looking for a place to start, check out "Talk In Your Sleep" and "Knuckles".
New album from Nipsey Hussle, Victory Lap
-Nipsey has been claiming this album is dropping since 2013, and a lot of fans just assumed it was never coming. Parts of the album are great west-coast style rap, other parts just feel like filler tracks. Favorites so far are "Last Time I Checc'd" feat YG, "Dedication" feat Kendrick Lamar, and "Victory Lap".
Ryan Adams - "Baby I Love You"
-Dropped this gem on Valentine's Day, classic. I'm getting a very Tom Petty-esque vibe from this one and I think you guys will too. One of my favorite singer-songwriters out right now, people forget he put a BEATDOWN on t swift's own album by covering all of 1989.
sAINT JHN - "I Heard You Got Too Lit Last Night"
-Debut track off the upcoming album due out March 9th. This dude is bubbling and I feel like he's going to explode within the next year or so. He's a nice cross between rapping and R&B singing, somewhat similar style to post malone but more of a gospel influence.
Wale - "All Star Beak Up"
-I've been off Wale for a while now but this was a nice surprise. He flows over the bass drum nicely while crying about some breaking up with some chick. Wale's well known for using sports references so it's kind of a cool move to release it for all star weekend.
Yeah Yeah Yeahs spotify singles
-First music in 5 years from YYY, any rock fans should definitely take a listen. We got a cover of Big Star's "Thirteen" and a stripped down version of "Maps". Karen O is still one of the best current lead singers to me, would like to see them put together a full album. In the meantime, I'll be checking them out at this year's Gov Ball.
Car Seat Headrest album, Twin Fantasy
-Not technically new, but they re-recorded this album which came out in 2011. Really good for any indie rock fans out there. Sounds a little like Modest Mouse in a good way. Favorite tracks are "Sober To Death" and "Bodys".
Senses Fail album, If There Is Light, It Will Find You
-I feel like these dudes have been making basically the same album over and over, but Let It Enfold You and Still Searching were two albums in HEAVY rotation for me during high school, so I couldn't leave them off here. Like I said, this album isn't gonna blow you away, but if you're a senses fail or post hardcore fan I think you'll enjoy it. Highlights are "Double Cross" and "New Jersey Makes, The World Takes".
Dr. Dog - "Go Out Fighting"
-Really nice psychedelic rock track from Dr. Dog. These guys have been around for 10 years and sell out shows everywhere, yet I feel like people barely know about them, if that makes sense at all. Pretty similar sound to My Morning Jacket or Wilco, but with a more pysch rock influence with the organs and mandolins.
Nyck Caution - "Fortnite"
-Trigger warning, I've never played fortnite, but I know a bunch of you must play. Either way, if you like hip hop this is a dope track. I don't really get any of the references but NYck shows off some nice flow. If you're not familiar with him, listen to "Off The Wall" and "Audiopium".
Albert Hammond Jr. - "Far Away Truths"
-Solo work from the guitarist from the strokes. Honestly I like this solo stuff more than the strokes, just a more folk rock vibe to it. New album, Francis Trouble, due out March 9th.
OTHER STUFF I'VE BEEN LISTENING TO THIS WEEK:
With smitty's big fight tonight, figured I'd put together a few songs I use to pump myself up to help out old blockhead. Let me know what pump up songs you guys got in the comments.
Refused - "New Noise" - The GOAT pump up song, don't even try to tell me otherwise. Had to play this song before every one of my football games in high school thanks to friday night lights.
Rage Against The Machine - "Bulls On Parade" - The word rage is in the band's name. Easy choice.
Limp Bizkit - Break Stuff - One of my all time favorite entourage scenes](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=chxBGa0Uj9M)
Mudvayne - "Dig" - It was a toss up between this and "Happy" from mudvayne.
DMX - "X Gon' Give It To Ya" - If DMX screaming at you doesn't get you going you don't have a pulse.
OTHER RANDOM STUFF
-After a bunch of rumors, Smashing Pumpkins are headed out on tour this summer which is big news for any 90s rock fans. They won't have the original bassist D'arcy Wretzky, but I still think I'm definitely gonna be hitting the MSG show in august. Also, they're only playing songs from the first 5 albums, which is fucking awesome and means we'll be getting the guitar solo from "Cherub Rock".
-Random but my fucking computer crashed right as I finished and I thought I lost all of this write up, thank god for google chrome restoring everything.
Alright that's it for me, as always you can follow along my personal blog GhostfaceKyle Music for updates during the week. Let me know what you guys got going on this week music-wise.

2016.08.23 08:43 Frearthandox Nest change megathread!

FINAL EDIT: I no longer have time for the game let alone all the work I used to put in to the game outside of the game/work itself. The Legion has consumed me and all of my time(for now). I believe the nests have migrated again but I don't have the time to keep up with/research all the new nests. Thanks all for updating me throughout the weeks but I will no longer be updating this post.
EDIT: Someone has done the work already making the megathread semi-useless! Here's said work: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1ap4Pt0easUDIhuXm1H66yxP4PYvXmYzMyATRDpfPMxg/edit#gid=0
EDIT 2: Still updating as I see posts/comments coming/going. I'll try and keep it going til the next nest change.
EDIT 3: Neat! I got sticked :) Decided to clean it up a bit. Made it look like the spreadsheet without it being as intimidating because it's a spreadsheet XD
Let's consolidate this mess! Here's a list of some rumored nest areas. I've heard Piedmont is still Growlithe and I've heard it's now Mankey, I'm going Tuesday night to confirm myself. If it's suggested by enough people/scanned enough I'll make a true group.

2015.11.10 01:12 Emotional_Ewok Song Discussion: Week 39 (Gravity Eyelids)

Hello everybody! This week's track is the disturbing and heavy Gravity Eyelids from the 2002 album, In Absentia. Awesome song, one of my favourites on the album (beaten only by Lips of Ashes, Heartattack in a Layby and Chloroform ;) - seriously, how did that not make the album?)
The guitar sounds so meaty and full here. Lovely drumming from Gavin. Not much to say about this one. Feel free to share your opinion on the song below! Here's some more information:
Lyrics:
Open your eyes now
Hear me out before I lose my mind
I've been waiting for hours
Let the salt flow, feel my coil unwind
Give me a smile please
Count the calm and watch my breathing slow
Winding me up tease
Get inside my head and make it show
Gravity eyelids come down
Touching your oil skin
Slipping hands down past your waist to find
I've been waiting for hours
Let the salt flow, feel my coil unwind
Go to the edge swim
Brown the eyes that sleep has rendered blind
  1. Gravity eyelids come down
  2. Come love so young with your gold arms so I wake her
  3. Here's a will that will glow in the dark
(Written by Steven Wilson)
Album Personnel:
*Steven Wilson – vocals, acoustic & electric guitar, piano, keyboards, banjo
*Richard Barbieri – analog synths, mellotron, hammond organ, keyboards

2015.02.08 18:09 Emotional_Ewok Song Discussion: Week 3 (Strip the Soul/.3)

Hello everybody! The song I have chosen this week is technically 2 songs, but I often group them together because they came from the same demo and well, they go together quite well. Without further ado, may I present to you, Strip the Soul/.3 from In Absentia! Feel free to share your thoughts on the song, its meaning or even any memories you have about the song!
Lyrics:
This is my home, this is my own, we don't like no strangers Raise the kids good, beat the kids good and tie them up Spread it wide, my wife, my life, push the camera deeper I can use, I abuse, my muse, I made them all
This machine Is there to please Strip the soul Fill the hole A fire to feed A belt to bleed Strip the soul Kill them all
They are not gone, they are not gone, they are only sleeping In graves, in ways, in clay, underneath the floor Building walls, overalls, getting bored, I got faulty wiring Brick it up now, brick it up now, but keep the bones
Do you want a western home in the rubble?
(Black the sky, weapons fly Lay them waste for your race)*

Series History:

The Gators and Blue Raiders are playing for just the second time, with the previous meeting last season, a 66-45 win for UF on Nov. 18, 2012 at Tampa. F Will Yeguete had a double-double (11 points, 13 rebounds) that day, with G Kenny Boyton chucking in 20 points. Florida is 7-4 all-time against teams from the Sun Belt Conference, including 7-1 under Coach Billy Donovan.

Game Notes:

  • Florida: It’s the same storyline, but the characters keeping changing. The Gators have been dealing with roster voids and uncertainty all season. The loss of freshman PG Kasey Hill (ankle) is the latest development, coming just one game after UF welcomed back F Dorian Finney-Smith from the suspended list. The latest juggling job Donovan and his staff are doing involves finding the right combination of players to fill in for Hill, who could miss up to a month. Some of the lineups against MTSU will be the tallest the Gators will roll out this season.
  • Middle Tennessee: The Blue Raiders return two starters from a team that went 28-8 last season (beating eventual SEC Tournament champ Ole Miss along the way) and lost to St. Mary’s in the play-in round of the NCAA Tournament. Kermit Davis is an outstanding mid-major coach who will get a lot out of an undersized lineup. MTSU is led by 6-8, 236-pound F Shawn Jones (16.3 ppg, 9 rpg), one of four senior starters, and PG Tweety Knight (10 ppg, 5.8 apg). The Blue Raiders, who gave the Gators fits with their 1-3-1 extended zone last season, have already beaten three of UF’s victims, defeating Southern by 3, North Florida by 7 and Arkansas-Little Rock by 17.
