36 year old female,smoker(1/2 pack daily), do not drink & no drug use Diagnosed with: hypothyroidism, degenerative disc disease, lymphadema in both legs, tmj, adhd, depression, intercystial cystitis and had severe symphisis pubic dysfunction in one and only pregnancy
Please let me hear your thoughts on what could be causing all of this. I've seen multiple doctors & specialists & no one seems to have a clue as to what the diagnosis is as of yet.
A couple months ago I saw an endocrinologist bc I've been having lots of weird symptoms for many years, that I thought were just due to my hypothyroidism , but pcp said I shouldn't be feeling this way. Symptoms are: chronic fatigue, hot flashes, cold intolerance ( only sometimes & I can start shivering ) excessive sweating ONLY on the left side of my face/scalp & right side of face Is bone dry. This only happens when I wake up in morning or when I wake up from a nap. The sweat pours down my face into my eyes, & soaks my shirt & hair. Been happening since 2012 and has gotten worse. Chronic, severe constipation , thin nails( won't grow, split easily & have vertical lines ), knee pain ( cracking & pain ) , back pain, finger swelling, especially after waking in morning, dry & itchy eyes ( sometimes ), sugar cravings, very low libido ( like non existent ) , brain fog, forgetting words mid sentence, horrible concentration, low motivation, etc..
Endocrinologist did blood work. Came back low in iron, vit b12 & vit d. Cortisol at 8 am came back at a 4.7, so she had me do an acth stim test. Baseline 8 am cortisol was a 3.8, acth injected, and cortisol at 30 mins was a 14, at 60 mins was a 18. She doesn't know what's causing this & said cortisol is low but acth stim test showed I'm in normal range ( but on low end of normal). She does more blood work bc symptoms get worse, & I start having mild headaches. Ana panel comes back positive/abnormal. Ana antibodies come back at a 1:80 .I'm referred to a neurologist & rheumatologist, which are booked months out.
Then, a couple weeks later, the mild headaches turn into daily headaches, that are getting very painful, & lasting for hours. Start getting weird pressure in my eyes & behind my eyes. Very dry and irritated eyes. Ears popping. Dizzy episodes where the floor looks like it's moving back & forth & I start feeling like floor is vibrating beneath me. Headache won't go away for 3 days in a row, & eye pressue/pressure around my eyes & even behind bridge of nose is horrible.
I go to er. They do CT scan. Er doctor Says nothing emergency related, but I do see partial empty sella is notated on results. Er doctor refers me to an eye specialist.
Eye specialist dilated my eyes & says everything looks great. Says I might have thyroid eye disease & tells me to come back in 2 weeks for measurements without dilation.
Symptoms get worse. Nonstop headache/pressure in forehead, around / in eyes, dizziness & I'm seeing weird black things in bottom peripheral vision. Almost looks like I'm still looking through my glass frames, even when I take them off, but only the bottom sides/corner of my frames. Like dark areas.
Go to urgent care. Given steroid & toradol shot. Looks in my ears. Sees nothing. Tells me if shots don't help, go back to er.shots helped for maybe 2 hours & then symptoms are back. Also have salty liquid substance drop into my mouth from somewhere & it tasted like salty water.
I go to another er. Blood pressure not extremely high, but high compared to my normally perfect pressure. Er doctor says he's worried I have iih and does a lumbar puncture. Opening pressure is a 21. Drains csf down to a 15. Er doctor calls a neurologist & is told might not be iih bc a 21 is high but very borderline & says not to start me on meds for iih. Told I need to see a neurologist asap . Symptoms DO go away after lp, but day after lp I start having new type of dizziness where I have episodes of feeling like I'm on a spinning ride pushing me to left & nausea.
See new neurologist & she has no idea what's happening. Says doesn't sound like iih bc some symptoms don't match. Wants to do a mri of brain & orders pitutary protocol as well. Spinning feeling is horrid & I beg for a Stat mri & wishes granted. Have stat mri next day.
Havnt spoken to neurologist yet ( it's been about 1 week. ) I read my results on line. Everything looked normal except something about a concave superior margin and minimal foci t2/wave hyperintense periventricular and subcortical white matter.
Please..I need your thoughts. Thank you.

2024.05.29 00:39 I_Love_Tsunderes Support and Top 500 rant
| Now I know people will say that support is hard, but I honestly think support is the easiest and best role. Some of the best abilities and ults come from the support category. I’m a dps player for the most part, having 767 hours, but I also have 551 hours on support. Whenever I play either of these two roles, either in QP or Ranked, I have an easier and better time on support than I do on dps for some reason. And yes I know my most played is Kiriko, Bap and Ana. Why? Because I play aim focused heroes. I only play Brig or Mercy if my team needs it. I am no means a good player either so for me to actually get Top 500 is surprising. Also this is my first time getting Top 500. Highest I’ve ever reached was GM 2 in the old OW 2 system, but I’m pretty sure that was due to rank inflation. Now I’ll be honest, after i finished my 50 wins and got Top 500, I did not get excited at all. I just said “oh cool” and logged off for the day. Why? Because getting Top 500 this season is like easy since you only have to be in Masters 2, and play OP supports. Plus I feel like playing support feels like getting boosted. Last season was GM 5 to get a spot in Top 500, which I honestly think it should be open to anyone who is GM 1 or above in all 3 roles, but thats just me. And since I got Top 500, reached 247 while in Masters 1, I don’t have to take the game seriously anymore. Well I didn’t take the game as seriously as before but now not as much. Do I wish I was Champion? Yes. Do I want to reach Champion next season? Maybe, maybe not. And since Blizz is finally cracking down on ximmers, even more so when season 11 rolls around, might as well. From now on, I’ll just play Ranked for the Jade weapons and not caring if I win or lose cause at the end of the day it’s just a pixelated rank in video game. submitted by I_Love_Tsunderes to OWConsole [link] [comments] |
2024.05.29 00:14 JustAChillDude057 Help with anion gap and health issues
TL;DR: Can you help me with what I should be getting tested for to help figure out a high anion gap?
Hello, I am turning here after having about 5 years of worsening health issues. There is a lot in my history that I might have a hard time remembering right now because I am not feeling too well. But essentially, I wanted to ask for help in doing more bloodwork on my own to look into a "pure anion gap acidosis" of between 10-20 mEq/L over the past few years in this chart of 5 past blood test dates. I also want to share basic problems I have been having in case this can help. This has happened between the ages of 15 and 20.
Starting with five years ago, I had an extreme episode of stomach pain which got worse after having Ibuprofen (15). It would leave me somewhat bedridden. Later that year, I had a paralysis on the left side of the throat which made it so I couldn't eat for about a month before getting better (they put me on antibiotics). Later that year, I had hyperthyroidism and they put me on a medication, and eventually this went away too (16). Around this time, I also noticed constant sore eyes which made focusing on the computer and books more difficult. I also noticed around this time or in the following months that my eyes didn't look quite right, kinda bulgy. By the next year, I wasn't able to play video games for more than an hour due to the eye pain (18).
Over the next several years, my recurring eye soreness has turned into constant pain where I was learning Braille. It's worst when I am driving or listening to speaker and watching their body language, and I have problems focusing my eyes on the road for more than 30-60 minutes which is highly dangerous (19). I was diagnosed with BVD (Strabismus) a year ago and got prism lenses which seemed to help a lot. Originally, I noticed that I was having major issues with watching my surroundings, bumping into stuff, focusing, and needing to sleep a lot. I was having "warped vision" where my phone or other stuff didn't look right as I wasn't processing depth correctly. I wasn't able to look at the Speedometer before prism lenses because looking back at stuff that was too close was really difficult. It was weird in that it seemed like an "attack" where things got so much worse for a month, but equalized out eventually.
The really annoying thing is being told I don't have any clear health issues, which has made me feel like a crab that is slowly being boiled in a pot by now. In these past months, I am having fatigue issues, the gut pain has been constant but a bit worse. I got tested for allergies again; I originally had none, but at 15 developed 6 new ones when going out of network with an allergist, and we did the same thing ago a month ago and I have 24 new allergies and the original 6 are gone. I have begun a diet eating only stuff I tested negatively for, as a food log seems useless when I am depending largely on items with a +2 rating for allergies and unable to tell what is hurting me, and my eyes seem to feel better and look better, although I am still having major issues with fatigue, now mixed in with huge issues with memory, taking care of myself, mental confusion, studying (when before I was an A+ student no problem), etc.
I am seeing a Neuro-Ophthamologist in a couple weeks, but I am scared that because I tested negatively for Graves disease (which I heavily suspected I had due to these past history) they'll not be able to help me. I linked my blood results, which have a couple elevated things, but the main thing I wanted to focus on was figuring out the high anion gap, which I think may have something to do with it. If there is other stuff I should mention, I can answer questions, I am sort of here as a last resort. I am going to ask them about Orbital Myositis, because even if I don’t have that, it and TED are good references for the symptoms of the eye problems I am having. But once again, in the absence of easy answers, I want to check the anion gap because other abnormalities in the chart I linked can be related to IBS/IBD. Thank you for your time and consideration.
I am 20M, five foot eight, 150 pounds, mixed European/Latino.

2024.05.28 21:34 sandman730 CBA Basics
This is based on the
CBA,
MOU, and various
CapFriendly FAQs.
If you have any questions, feel free to comment or message me.
Note: Various games played thresholds may be pro-rated due to the shortened 2019-20 and 2020-21 seasons. Consult CapFriendly or message me if you have any questions. All dates below are tentative. Check the
schedule for more up-to-date information.
Salary Cap
The upper limit is
$87.7M (projected), and the lower limit is
$64.7M (projected). Though you are allowed to exceed the upper limit by 10% in the offseason, we will require you to have a plan for how to get back under the cap by the end of the sim.
Resources: Contracts
For the sake of simplifying contracts, all contract negotiations and signings will be done using average annual value (AAV). Salary structure and signing bonuses will not be considered, with the exceptions of complying with minimum salaries ($775k for the 2023-24 season and beyond) and maximum salaries (an AAV equal to 20% of the current salary cap upper limit).
Basic Definitions
- Standard player contract (SPC) - the sole form of employment contract used for all player signings
- Entry-level contract (ELC) - most players’ first contract, carries certain restrictions
- Unrestricted free agent (UFA) - can sign with any team
- Restricted free agent (RFA) - if they sign with another team, the original team has the right to match the contract or receive draft pick compensation
- Group 1 Player - players under an ELC
- Group 2 Player or RFA - most RFAs fit under this category
- Group 3 Player or UFA - players with 7 accrued seasons or 27 years old
- Group 4 RFA - defected players
- Group 5 UFA (currently irrelevant) - players with 10 accrued seasons who made less than the average league salary in the prior season
- Group 6 UFA - players 25 or older who played few enough NHL games to become a UFA
- 10.2(c) - players without the professional years required to become a Group 2 RFA and receive a qualifying offer. Can only negotiate with the team holding the player's rights.
Contract & Roster Limits
During the regular season (before the day of the Trade Deadline) each team may have a maximum of 23 players on their Active Roster and a minimum of 18 skaters and 2 goalies.
Each club may have a maximum of 50 SPCs and must have a minimum of 24 players and 3 goalkeepers. In this sim, we will also require each team to have at least 40 SPCs by the end. Players who meet the following conditions do not count towards this contract limit:
- Are 18 or 19 years old
- Are in a junior league
- Have not played 11 NHL games in one season
Note: the roster sheets currently assume every player eligible for this exemption is assigned to Juniors. If you wish to have that player(s) on your opening day roster, please ask me to correct this (as it will affect the number of contract slots you have available).
A club's reserve list (signed players, unsigned draft picks, and defected players) may not exceed 90 players.
Resources: Buried Contracts
For one-way NHL contracts of players reassigned to the AHL, the player's salary cap hit, minus the sum of the minimum NHL salary (for the respective season) and $375k, still counts towards the team’s salary cap total. This implies up to $1.15M can be buried this season per contract.
If a player signs a multi-year contract at 35 years or older (as of June 30 before the effective contract), the player's cap hit counts against the team's cap hit regardless of whether, or where, the player is active. However, a team will receive a $100k relief off of the team's salary cap hit, if a 35+ contract player is playing in the minor leagues after the first year of their contract.
Entry-Level Contracts
Players younger than 25 as of September 15 of the year of their first NHL contract must sign an ELC, all of which are two-way contracts with a maximum AAV of $950k (players drafted in 2022) or $925k (players drafted before 2022). The length of an ELC depends on the player's age:
- 18-21 years old: 3 years
- 22-23 years old: 2 years
- 24 years old: 1 year
European players (players drafted from a team outside North America or undrafted players) ages 25-27 must sign a one-year ELC.
If a player signed to an ELC is 18 or 19 years old and does not play in a minimum of 10 NHL games (including both regular season and playoffs), their contract is considered to "slide", or extend, by one year. Signing bonuses do not slide, which can change the AAV of the player's contract.
Resources: Contract Length
Clubs may sign a player to an SPC with a term of up to 8 years only if that player was on such club's Reserve List as of and since the most recent Trade Deadline. For UFAs, this right expires when the player hits free agency (i.e., on
Sun. June 23rd, 11:59pm ET). Otherwise, the term limit for SPCs is 7 years.
No-Trade Clauses
A No-Move Clause (NMC), No-Trade Clause (NTC), or Modified No-Trade Clause (M-NTC) can be added to a player's contract in the years after they are eligible as a Group 3 player (7 accrued seasons or 27 years old). These clauses restrict the player from being traded without his consent. An NMC also restricts a player from being placed on waivers and assigned to minors without consent. These clauses do not exempt a player from a buyout or contract termination.
Performance Bonuses
Clubs may pay players who meet one of the following criteria a performance bonus:
- The player is on an ELC.
- The player has signed a one-year contract and is over 35 years old.
- The player has signed a one-year contract after returning from a long-term injury (has played 400 or more games, and spent 100 or more days on the Injured Reserve in the last year of their most recent contract).
Performance bonuses count against the cap, however, a team can only exceed the upper limit by a maximum of 7.5% (the overage of which counts towards the next season's cap hit).
Resources: Group 6 Unrestricted Free Agents
A player whose contract is expiring and meets all of the following conditions shall become a Group 6 UFA:
- The player is 25 years or older (as of June 30th).
- The player has completed 3 or more professional seasons - qualified by 11 or more professional games (for an 18/19 year old player), or 1 or more professional games (for a player 20 or older) while under an SPC.
- The player has played fewer than 80 NHL games for a skater, or 28 NHL games of 30 minutes or greater for a goaltender.
Restricted Free Agents
Qualifying Offers
A qualifying offer (QO) is an official one-year SPC offer. Clubs have until
Sun. June 23rd, 5pm ET to submit their QOs. Submitting a QO gives the club the right of first refusal to match any offer sheet submitted, or receive draft pick compensation. If the player rejects the qualifying offer, he will remain an RFA with their rights retained by the club. If a player does not receive a qualifying offer, he becomes a UFA.
A minimum QO is calculated from the player's base salary (excluding all bonuses) as follows:
- 105% of the base salary if the base salary is less than $1,000,000. However, the minimum QO shall not exceed $1,000,000.
- 100% of the base salary if the base salary is equal to or greater than $1,000,000.
- For contracts signed after the 2020 Memorandum of Understanding, if the minimum qualifying offer would otherwise be greater than 120% of the AAV of the contract, the minimum qualifying offer will instead be 120% of the AAV.
The QO must be a one-way offer if the following three requirements are met (a goaltender is considered to have played a game if they are on the bench as a backup):
- The player played in 180 NHL games in the previous three seasons.
- The player played in 60 NHL games in the previous season.
- The player did not clear waivers in the previous season.
Qualifying offers expire on
Wed. July 10th, 5pm ET.
Note: If an RFA has signed a contract in another league, the NHL club may extend a QO to retain that player's rights. These players are marked on the roster sheets as signed in another league.
Resources: Offer Sheet Compensation
Only Group 2 and 4 RFAs may be signed to an offer sheet. However, clubs only receive draft pick compensation for Group 2 RFAs.
Compensation must be entirely in the next draft (for this sim: 2025) unless multiple of the same round of pick is required (e.g. two first-rounders). In that case, you may skip one year (e.g. two 1sts could be 2025 and 2026 OR 2025 and 2027 OR 2026 and 2027).
Compensation is determined by the AAV outlined in the offer made by the submitting club. The AAV for an offer sheet, which determines the compensation required, is derived by dividing the total contract value by the lesser of the contract length or 5 years. The AAV thresholds are readjusted each season and are based on the average league salary for that season.
Compensation for the
2024 offseason is as follows:
AAV (1-5 years) | AAV (6 years) | AAV (7 years) | Compensation |
$1,415,740 or less | $1,179,783 or less | $1,011,243 or less | No compensation |
$1,415,741 - $2,145,061 | $1,179,784 - $1,787,551 | $1,011,244 - $1,532,186 | One 3rd Round Pick |
$2,145,062 - $4,290,125 | $1,787,552 - $3,575,104 | $1,532,187 - $3,064,375 | One 2nd Round Pick |
$4,290,126 - $6,435,186 | $3,575,105 - $5,362,655 | $3,064,376 - $4,596,561 | One 1st Round Pick, One 3rd Round Pick |
$6,435,187 - $8,580,250 | $5,362,656 - $7,150,208 | $4,596,562 - $6,128,750 | One 1st Round Pick, One 2nd Round Pick, One 3rd Round Pick |
$8,580,251 - $10,725,314 | $7,150,209 - $8,937,762 | $6,128,751 - $7,660,939 | Two 1st Round Picks, One 2nd Round Pick, One 3rd Round Pick |
$10,725,315 or more | $8,937,763 or more | $7,660,940 or more | Four 1st Round Picks |
The club that receives an Offer Sheet has 7 days to match the offer or accept the draft pick compensation. If the receiving club matches the Offer Sheet, they are bound to the contract details outlined in the offer, must respect all aspects of the contract (such as any NTCs), and cannot trade that player for 1 year from the date of the contract signing.

Teams are permitted to buy out a player's contract to obtain a reduced salary cap hit for twice the remaining length of the contract. The buyout amount is a function of the player's age at the time of the buyout, and is as follows:
- 1/3 of the remaining contract value, if the player is younger than 26 at the time of the buyout
- 2/3 of the remaining contract value, if the player is 26 or older at the time of the buyout
The team still takes a cap hit, and the cap hit by year is calculated as follows:
- Multiply the remaining salary (excluding signing bonuses) by the buyout amount (as determined by age) to obtain the total buyout cost
- Spread the total buyout cost evenly over twice the remaining contract years
- Determine the savings by subtracting the annual buyout cost from Step 2. by the player's salary (excluding signing bonuses)
- Determine the remaining cap hit by subtracting the savings from Step 3. by the player's AAV (including signing bonuses)
A player can only be bought out after clearing unconditional waivers. A waiver claim by another team pre-empts the buyout process. If a player has a no-movement clause, the player can reject the option of waivers and proceed directly to the buyout process.
A 35+ contract that is bought out receives no salary cap relief. An injured player (who was injured as a result of his job) is entitled to his remaining salary, so long as such injury continues, and therefore cannot be bought out.
Resources: Waivers
When a player is reassigned from the NHL to another league, they must pass through waivers (unless they are exempt).
Waiver requests are processed each day at
2pm ET, and are subject to a 24-hour claim period, expiring at
2pm ET the following day.
The sim will have two waiver windows: unconditional waivers (for buyouts) run from
Mon. June 17th until
Sun. June 23rd and the normal waiver window will run from
Thu. July 25th until
Sat. August 3rd.
Waiver priority is determined by the lowest percentage of possible standings points at the time of the waiver request (or, when outside the regular season or through October 31st, by the previous season's standings). Tiebreakers: lowest ROW percentage, the fewest number of points in head-to-head games (excluding "odd games"), lowest goal differential per game. Therefore, waiver priority throughout the sim is as follows:
Resources: Waiver Exemptions
Age is defined as follows:
- If a player turns 18 between January 1 and September 15 in the entry-draft calendar year preceding the first season of the player's ELC, they are considered 18
- Otherwise, if a player turns 19 (or older) before December 31 in the entry-draft calendar year preceding the first season of the player's ELC, they are considered 19 (or older)
For players 20 years or older, the year in which they play their first professional game under an NHL contract is their first year toward the waiver exemption.
Whichever comes first in this table indicates when a player is no longer exempt:
Age | Years from Signing (Skaters) | NHL Games Played (Skaters) | Years from Signing (Goalies) | NHL Games Played (Goalies) |
18 | 5 | 160 | 6 | 80 |
19 | 4 | 160 | 5 | 80 |
20 | 3 | 160 | 4 | 80 |
21 | 3 | 80 | 4 | 60 |
22 | 3 | 70 | 4 | 60 |
23 | 3 | 60 | 3 | 60 |
24 | 2 | 60 | 2 | 60 |
25+ | 1 | | 1 | |
There is an exception (to the above) for 18- and 19-year-olds: if a skater plays 11 NHL games or more, the year exemption reduces to 3, and the following two seasons will count against this regardless of games played. For goalies, the year exemption reduces to 4, and the following three seasons will count against this regardless of games played.
Otherwise:
- A player does not need to pass through waivers if he has not been on the NHL active roster for a cumulative 30 days since last clearing waivers, and has not played in 10 or more NHL games.
- Any player who consented to a Conditioning Loan can be loaned to a minor league club for a maximum of 14 days without passing through waivers.
- A player who was previously on long-term injured reserve (LTIR), may be loaned to a minor league club for a maximum of 6 days or 3 games to determine if the player is fit to play. This player does not need to pass through waivers
Examples of players that do or do not require waivers. Resources: Long-Term Injured Reserve
There are two approaches to using LTIR for cap relief:
- Put the player on LTIR before the season starts. You can be over at the start of the season, but only get relief for how much the contract is over at the time he is placed on LTIR. Note: offseason cap accounting applies.
- Put the player on LTIR after the start of the season. You need to be under the cap at the beginning of the season but get full relief.
The LTIR salary relief cannot be used to pay bonuses. Any excess relief does not accumulate.
At this point, the following players are eligible for LTIR: Nicklas Bäckström (
WSH), Ryan Ellis (
PHI), Ryan Johansen (
PHI), Robin Lehner (
VGK), Tucker Poolman (
VAN), Carey Price (
MTL), and Shea Weber (UT). GMs can petition the commissioners to add players to this list, including relevant information such as the player, injury, and timeline for return.
Resources: Retained Salary Transactions
When a team trades a player, they can retain a part of his salary (and cap hit). The team that retains the salary pays the retained percentage of the salary and retains the percentage of the cap hit (until the contract expires). The following requirements must be met:
- The percentage retained cannot exceed 50% of the player’s salary (including all bonuses) and cap hit.
- The same percentage must be retained for both the player’s salary and cap hit, and cannot be modified year-to-year. As a result, the same amount must be retained through the remainder of the contract.
- All teams are limited to a maximum of 3 retained salary contracts per season.
- Teams cannot retain an aggregate amount of more than 15% of the Salary Cap Upper Limit.
- Players’ contracts are limited to 2 retained salary transactions per contract.
Once a retained salary transaction occurs, there are various limitations:
- A team cannot re-acquire a player for whom they have retained salary for a minimum of one year after the transaction date (unless the player's contract expires or is terminated before the one-year date).
- All teams involved in a retained salary transaction will have cap implications if the contract is bought out or terminated.
- Teams who retain salary on a player's contract, will have the full value of the cap hit act against the team's salary cap total, regardless of whether the player is reassigned to the minors by their current team.
Such transactions will require a compelling explanation. Salary Arbitration
We are not doing salary arbitration as part of this sim. If you feel that a GM and/or agent is negotiating for an RFA in bad faith, contact a commissioner.
Miscellaneous
Performance bonuses count against the cap, however, a team can only exceed the upper limit by a maximum of 7.5% (the overage of which counts towards the next season's cap hit).
Teams may not commit more salary to next season than 110% of the current salary cap (i.e. exceed their tagging space).
Players claimed off waivers cannot be traded to another club (until the termination of the Playoffs of the season in which he was acquired) unless he is first offered on the same terms to the club(s) that previously issued a claim (and the offer has been refused).
If you have any questions, feel free to comment below or DM sandman730. If we need to clarify some things, we will do so.

2024.05.28 15:03 The_JG_Man Eventful - Ep. 7 - Breen Chel Boalg Warship
| Breen Chel Boalg Warship Welcome to Eventful, my chronological run through the T6 event ships. How it works - using my intentionally modestly equipped level 65 Romulan engineer I play a ship to complete its mastery doing content no harder than advanced through a mix of patrols and RTFOs. Previously I explored the Xyfius Heavy Escort. I don't like the Chel Boalg. I mean yes the ship is fine, great even, it's just that this updated take on the Chel Grett doesn't work for me. Now with time I can say that the Boalg does go for some uniformity of design with the later Plesh Tral, yet that shared aesthetic loses a lot of what makes the Grett so good. As the only canon Breen ship that we see of its time the Grett was a striking approach for any Trek race to showcase with its revelry in asymmetrical design. Where the Boalg specifically fails for me is that it is too narrow, too weedy to have the same impact as its predecessor. The Grett at least gives the impression of being equally weighted all around, whilst the Boalg is too forward. Hey, not every ship can be a winner for everyone, right? Dissipated Energy How's the general lay-out? Of the four Breen ships the Chel Boalg is the most balanced. As a warship it's about average, with a decent hull, unexciting shields and agility I would label as 'fine'. I suppose the best comparison for this purpose would be the Nandi. The Nandi is far more science oriented and with some determination could be made into an EPG machine. Despite the LtC Sci/Int and the LtC and Ens Uni allowing you to lean into science more, with only three science consoles you'd be pushing your luck to do the same here. What I really think that LtC Sci is there for is to slot GW1 so that your AoE firing modes can hit as many targets as possible. Or for cooldown reduction with PO2. When I did use it on release I tried replicating my original Chel Grett build, using that LtC Uni for engineering giving me plenty of space for A2B, EPtW3 and other niceties. Throw in OSS3 and you're going to be running with some high power levels, enough for you to charge into the middle of the fray, throw down your weapons and get away without too much of a dent. Hell, slot Kinetic Magnet and you've got some means to be a torp boat, dropping down that weapon power and empowering auxiliary to get more use out of a GW for grouped TS hits. What the Chel Boalg offers is a ton of versatility. 4/4 on a commander tactical ship might seem a bit awkward, but I like to think of it as giving you options. Customisation options? Like the other Breen ships you get the Upgrade and original hull materials, as well as some choices for your windows. Fortunately in my having the ability to use the Chel Grett model, I'd ordinarily switch to that in a heartbeat. How's the trait and console? For reference Attack Pattern Beta 1 grants -30 damage resistance to a target of your weapons. Not the longest duration, but with everyone focusing on it, it adds up. Cryonic Siphon places a -15 damage resistance debuff on the target of your Energy Siphon with a side helping of shield resistance reduction. The duration is longer than on APB1, but that's a boff ability. Of which boff abilities are less of a premium than your trait slots. Is this trade worth it? Remember, for this to work you need the trait and a boff ability. Well, for a FTP player, I don't think it's terrible. The problem is it has such strong competition that I'm not really sure it can hang in that fight. Perhaps on elite where enemies are much tougher with shields to match it could find some use, however I remain doubtful. It certainly pales compared to the next Breen ship's trait, that's for sure. For the console the obvious point here is that stat wise it's actually pretty strong. Flat 1% crit chance is nothing to be sneezed at and drain/resistance is always going to be appreciated even if it's not necessarily prioritised. That's the easy part. The active? Well, it's a bit useless? For sure on normal difficulty and probably on advanced too. In elite it perhaps can find a niche against certain bosses? The problem is that power drains on AI enemies are weak. Sure the capability is what the ship in the show can actually do, but it being accurate doesn't make it good. Where I think it could potentially have a big impact is in PvP, but as an area I have rarely ventured into, I'm not even sure of that. The drain itself is a projectile which can be shot down resulting in any vigilant player putting you on a two minute cooldown with nothing to show for it and at a guess PvPers probably have drains in mind so will have ways to mitigate their effects. If the cooldown scaled with the target, or you got multiple charges or something perhaps it'd be more useful. Any other fun toys? The Breen bridge. Breedge. Overall thoughts... Artistic preference aside, along with the trait and console active being niche at best, it's just a great ship. You're given a lot of options for how you wish to build it, the console lay-out means you can go for your spire or isomag consoles with even benefits and it'll go where you point it to without much argument. It can easily take a blow and more than easily dole them out. In some respects the more open a ship is, the less specifically there is to talk about with it. If you get the Boalg you get the chance to tailor it to your needs. Once again 4/4 weapons on a commander tactical ship is not optimal for DEW, but it doesn't exactly mean it's bad, just not ideal. That's assuming too you'd be going with forward facing weapons as beam arrays work plenty fine with a ship that has more agility than your average cruiser. It's just a solid, strong ship. Next time? Goes great with a dip. submitted by The_JG_Man to sto [link] [comments] |

2024.05.27 12:31 cgfn Excitement Scores and Tension Scores for 2024-05-26
Excitement Score is the sum of squares of
Win Probability Added (WPA) of each at-bat as defined by Baseball Reference. Exciting plays scale exponentially, so a WPA change of 5% is worth 25 points of excitement score, but a WPA change of 50% is worth 2500 points.
Tension Score measures the average distance that each team is away from a 50% Win Probability throughout the game. The lower that average, the higher the tension score. The scale for Tension Score is 0-100, where 100 is the most tense game.
Excitement Score is better at measuring wild swings and lead changes, while
Tension Score is better at measuring how close a game was throughout its duration.

2024.05.27 03:26 Honest_Try5665 help how to get from diamond 4 to masters?
TLDR PLEASE GUIDE ME TO GET OUT OF DIAMOND?? i think i know alot about how to play mercy but i dont know what to do different or what is a mistake to fix i watch alot tips and tricks ytb videos gm players but after all improvements i make i still stuck at diamond 4-3 started playing on ow2 release
here is my story
i played ow2 when it first came out and i fell in love with mercy and play rank with supp only i reach plat and what happened after the older season reset it dropped me to gold and i was sad so i played less but after 4th season i climbed to plat 1 i played mercy the most a little ana 7 hrs and kiri 8 hrs then stopped playing rank i only play qp to try mercy tech things and settings and last season i played rank again and reach diamond 3 then drop to diamond 4 with 7 hours mercy so i feel improvement but i cant enjoy other supp and only like mercy with 160 hrs overall so i want to get better and get master 5 at least in this or next season🥺
i am stuck in mid diamond and i feel not good enough always one team is very bad and loses not many games feel even and i solo queue and i want to get better with any general advice?
last season stats avg/10 min: assists 24.8 death 5.77 heal avg 9,970 offensive assist 16.9 defensive assist 22.6 offensive beam 49% healing beam 51% resurrected 5.4
this is what i know
i damage boost with 50% most my games unless my team take alot of damage it can be 38% damage boost in those games. i always keep up with pharah and echo first, then hitscan to get their ult faster if they need the last 30% to get the ult or if they were the better player. if i have ashe or cassidy and soujorn or soldier sometimes i focus boost on the spam damage hero if the enemy tank have a shield. when i heal i switch between targets instead of healing one by one to full starting with supp or dps then tank.
i try to keep supp alive and boost them if its moira or zen and sometimes ana and bap when they shoot enemy pharah tracer sombra.
i never pocket one player entire game and this sometimes good for my team and sometimes bad for the player expecting pocket full time because i do go back to heal zen or ana if they need it or if tank like zarya or rein need to walk slowly back from enemy and need heal while other supp focusing healing dps or struggling for los or getting jumped. sometimes i leave echo or pharah when they fly in the open but my beam dont reach them if i want to stay behind cover and if we both in the open i get shot instead and it makes harder for me to know what to do because if i leave pharah or echo might not have safe landing or cover and they get angry if i leave them to try and live but i try to fly everywhere and sometimes i die if i dont hide and the pharah or echo dont get a kill fast.
i only damage boost dva when she push or zarya if high charged hog if he hook winston if he focus supp and only heal them if they have 35% hp and still taking damage and i let other supp heal tank to full so they get their ult or if dps dont have los but tank does i pocket them.
if player is bad i dont rez mid fight but i go for risky rez if its tank or good dps or support we need for the fight.
i have hard time with enemy sombra tracer genji echo winston dva when they chase me and if i pocket pharah or echo i struggle with sojourn wid hanzo 1shot.
thanks if you read all and please help 🙏

2024.05.27 01:44 cgfn The games with the highest Excitement Score and Tension Score since 1969 + New daily feature post
Sometime last month I started posting something I called “Excitement Score” in the daily general discussion thread.
Here is an example of one of my posts. The goal was to provide people with information about the most exciting games from the previous day, particularly for those who couldn't watch any games, as I don't post the final score of any game.
The mods eventually reached out to me to ask if I’d start posting this daily as its own thread instead of a comment in the General Discussion thread. I agreed -- The first post will be tomorrow. To kick things off, I’ll share the top Excitement and Tension Scores since 1969 (the first year Baseball Reference has 100% complete play-by-play data), as well as a breakdown by team. But first, a little background.
I started calculating these scores as I wanted something like it myself, but
vizio140 posting about wanting something similar was the catalyst.
mlbthrillers used to post their own “Thrill” rating, but it looks like they have stopped. So I took it upon myself to pick up the mantle and try something.
Eventually I added in a “Tension Score” due to feedback about Excitement Score not capturing games that were close for most of the game and had less volatility in WPA, like pitcher’s duels. Some people like games with high scoring and wild swings, and some people like low scoring tense games. You can use whatever score fits you best.
Excitement Score is the sum of squares of
WPA of each at-bat throughout the game. I thought simply summing the WPAs of each at-bat didn’t feel right. That would mean that
this 12th inning tiebreaking home run (30% WPA) would only be 10 times as exciting as this
5th inning groundout with 0 outs and the bases empty (3% WPA). So I decided to sum the squares of WPA instead, so now that home run is 100 times as exciting as the groundout. Is that any more accurate? Who knows, but it felt better to me -- I’m not a data scientist and it’s hard to model an emotional response to something. For me, an Excitement Score below 1500 is not a very exciting game, while games over 5000 are very exciting.
Tension Score is the average distance the win probability is away from 50% throughout the game. I subtract that average from 50 and multiply 2, to get a scale from 0 to 100. Going through historial Tension Scores, a handful of the high scoring games are ties, which I found interesting.
I'm planning to create an online tool for people to explore all this data for themselves, but that's still a work in progress. Hoping to share that in the future.
Anyways, here’s the top 20 Excitement and Tension Scores since 1969 along with the top 3 for each team. See you on the subreddit more regularly.

2024.05.26 23:10 cavegrind DoN to DoN, a quick overview of AEW's first 5 years.
Ahead of tonight's show, I thought it might be fun to take a step back and look at AEW year-to-year, less about any one event and more focused on the larger adjustments, movements, and tonal shifts that occurred between each Double or Nothing. There's a lot of hand wringing about "when AEW was good" or stories not carrying over, while there also appears to be a general recency bias among some fans.
What was your favorite year? What era worked the best? Is anything overlooked?
Ed note - There are likely typos in here. After a while I started to rush to get everything included ahead of people focusing directly on tonight's show and didn't spend time editing. I probably will be over the next hour or so.
Year 1
AEW begins and most of the year is about establishing the promotion, crowning champions, and laying out the earliest storylines.
- Double or Nothing 2019 - Jericho beats Kenny, Moxley debuts
- Fyter Fest - Mix v Jane Lights Out
- Fight for the Fallen - Bucks v The Rhodes
- All Out - Jericho v Hangman for the World Championship, Rio v Shida for chance at the Women’s Title
- Full Gear - Jericho beats Cody (MJF throwing in the towel), Mox v Kenny Lights Out, Riho v Emi Sakura
- Revolution - Mox v Jericho, MJF v Cody, Kennny/Hangman v The Bucks, Nyla v Statlander
Year 2
We move from Revolution to DON with the Elite beginning to fracture, knee deep in Hangman’s confidence crisis before that becomes the main undercurrent of the whole year. Kenny begins his alignment with Don Calls, the Elite (minus Hangman) turn heel, and the Belt Collector story line kicks off during the pandemic.
- Double or Nothing 2020 - Cody v Archer for the TNT Title, Nyla v Shida, Mox v Brodie Lee, first Stadium Stampede
- All Out - Shida v Thunder Rosa, FTR v Kenny/Hangman, Mimosa Mayhem, MJF v Moxley
- Full Gear - Hangman v Kenny World Championship Eliminator, Cody v Darby for the TNT title, Shida v Nyla Rose, FTR v Bucks, Elite Deletion Cinematic Match, MJF v Jericho to join the Inner Circle, Mox v Eddie for the World Title I Quit match
- Revolution - Bucks v Jericho & MJF, Lucha Bros v Jungle Express, Shida v Ryo Mizunami, Kip & Miro v Best Friends, Hangman v Matt Hardy “Big Money” match, Sting & Darby v Team Tax Cinematic Match, Kenny v Mox Exploding Barbed Wire Death Match Year 3
Year 3 saw the easing of COVID restrictions and the return to touring. Miro had a white hot TNT title run, American Top Team generating nuclear heat, two massive debuts in Danielson and Punk, and Hangman Page’s title run was short but intense. The main story for this year was a switch from an Elite-Hangman centric show to one that was increasingly centered on CM Punk and MJF.
Additionally, ahead of Revolution Tony Khan buys Ring of Honor, partially for the video library, partially for historical relevance. Additionally, Tony goes on a spending spree, bringing in tons of former WWE and international talent to elevate the on-screen performances.
- Double or Nothing 2021 - Bucks v Mox & Eddie, Cody v Ogogo, Miro v Archer for the TNT title, Shida v Brit for the women’s title, Darby & Sting v Ethan Page & Scorpio Sky, Kenny/PAC/OC for the title, Inner Circle v Pinnacle Stadium Stampede
- All Out - Miro v Eddie for the TNT Title, Moxley v Kojima (with Minoru Suzuki’s first appearance), Brit v Statlander for the women’s title, Bucks v Lucha Bros Steel Cage match, Ruby Soho debuts with the Women’s Casino Battle Royale win, Jericho v MJF in a retirement match, Punk v Darby, Kenny v Christian, Adam Cole and Danielson debut after the Main Event
- Full Gear - MJF v Darby, Lucha Bros v FTR, Danielson v Miro in an Eliminator Tournement final, Christian & Jungle Express v The Superkliq Falls Count Anywhere, Cody & Pac v Malaki & Andrade, Brit v Tay Conti for the women’s title, Punk v Eddie, Inner Circle v American Top Team, Kenny v Hangman
- Revolution - Eddie v Jericho handshake match, Jurassic Express v ReDragon for the Tag Titles, Jade v Tay Conti, MJF v Punk Dog Collar match, Thundner Rosa v Brit for the women’s title, Danielson v Moxley (Regal debuts, BCC forms), Darby/Sting/Sammy v Andrade-Hardy Family Office, Hangman v Cole for the World Title
Year 4
AEW’s relationship with NJPW continued to strengthen as the first Forbidden Door hits mid-year, MJF tries to bring kayfabe back by no showing a signing event, Jericho ditches the Inner Circle for the JAS, and The Elite turn face again. Trouble abounds after Brawl Out becomes a bigger talking point for Wrestling Fans than what’s on the screen, Tony Khan deals with personal issues in the back half of the year leading a loss of momentum. This year feels much like an adjustment and reevaluation after the previous year’s spending spree and “Black And Gold-ification”.
- Double or Nothing 2022 - Wardlow squashes MJF, Hardys v Bucks, Jade v Ana Jay, Death Triangle v House of Black trios match, Owen Men’s Final - Cole v Samoa Joe, Owen Women’s Final - Brit v Ruby, Darby v KOR, Thunder Rosa v Deep for the women’s title, first Anarchy in the Arena, Jurassic Express v Swerve In Our Glory v Team Tax for the tag titles, Hangman v Punk for the World Title
- Forbidden Door - Suzuki + JAS v Eddie/Shota/Yuta for Blood & Guts advantage, ROH/IWGP Tag Title Winner Takes All FTR v United Empire, All-Atlantic Championship Four Way Pac/Clark Connors/Miro/Malakai, Darby/Sting/Shingo Takagi v Bullet Club (El P, Bucks), Rosa v Toni Storm for the women’s title, Ospreay v OC for the IWGP US Title, ZSJ v Claudio, Jay White v Hangman v Cole v Okada for the IWGP Championship, Mox v Tanahashi for the AEW World Championship
- All Out - Sammy & Tay v Ruby & Ortiz, Hook v Angelo Parker for the FTW title, Pac v Kip for the All-Atlantic, MJF wins Casino Ladder Match (debut of ‘The Devil’), Elite v Hangman & Dark Order for the Inaugural Trios Championships, Jade v Athena for the TBS title, Swerve in Our Glory v Acclaimed for the tag titles, Toni v Brit v Jamie v Shida for the Interim Women’s Title, Christian v Jungle Boy, Punk v Mox for the World Title. Brawl Out
- Full Gear - Starks v Brian Cage WC Eliminator, Jungle Boy V Luchasaurus, Death Triangle v The Elite Match 1 in the Trios Best of 7, Jade v Nyla for the TBS title, Saraya v Britt, Joe v Wardlow v Hobbs for the TNT Title, Hayter v Toni Storm for the women’s championship, Acclaimed v Swerve In Our Glory for the Tag Titles, MJF v Moxley for the World Title
- Revolution -Jungle Boy v Christian Final Burial, Elite v House of Black for the Trios titles, Jamie v Ruby v Saraya, Texas Death Match Mox v Hanngman, Joe v Wardlow for the TNT Title, The Gunns v Aclaimed v Jarrett/Lethal v OC/Danhausen for the Tag Title, MJF v Danielson 60 min Iron Man for the World Title
Year 5
The last year saw AEW embrace new ideas trying to further differentiate itself from the competition. While the title scene revolves around MJF’s
very Sports Entertainment title run the company introduces the ‘no fucking around’/workrate Continental Classic tournament to rousing applause. AEW’s biggest event is held during All In London, as the company performs in anywhere between 3,000 and 85,000 people (depending on who you ask). Despite stellar on-going workrate, growing pains see a shuffling of corporate talent leading to uneven live even promotion, smaller audiences, and ongoing hand wringing about AEW dying as the company appears to be positioning itself for it’s next TV contract.
- Double Or Nothing 2023 - OC defends International Championship in the 21 Man Blackjack Battle Royal, Adam Cole v Jericho Unsanctionend Match (w/ Sabu), FTR v Lethal/Jarett Tag Titles, Wardlow v Christian TNT Title, Jamie v Toni Storm (Jamie injury Squash), House of Black v Acclaimed for the Trios Titles, Jade v Taya for the TBS Title, Jade v Statlander for the TBS Title. Four Pillars for the World Title, Anarchy In the Arena II, BCC v Elite
- Forbidden Door - MJF v Tanahashi, Punk v Kojima Owen first round match, OC v Garcia v Shibata v ZSJ for the Intnernational Title, Canada v Jungle Boy for the IWGP Heavyweight Championship, Elite/Eddie/Ishii v BCC, Toni v Willow for the Women’s World Title, Kenny v Ospreay for the IWGP US Heavyweight Title. Le Suzuki Gods v Sting/Darby/Naito, Danielson v Okada
- All In -Jack Perry v Hook (Brawl In), Punk v Samoa Joe, BCG vs Golden Elite, FTR v Bucks for the Tag Titles, Stadium Stampede (Eddie, Penta, Best Friends, OC v BCC, Santana, Ortiz), Shida v Saraya v Toni v Britt for the Women’s Title. Darby/Sting v Christian/Swerve, Jericho v Ospreay, House of Black v Acclaimed in a No Holds Barred Trios Championship match, MJF v Cole for the World Title
- All Out - Better Than You Bay Bay v Dark Order for the ROH Tag Titles, Joe v Shane Taylor for the ROH TV Title, Luchasaurus v Darby for the TNT Title, Miro v Hobbs, Statlander v Ruby for the TBS Title, Danielson v Starks No DQ, BCC vs Eddie/Shibata, Kenny v Takeshita, BCG v FTR v Bucks, OC v Mox for the Internnational Title
- Wrestledream - MJF v The Righteous for ROH Tag Titles, Eddie v Shibata for ROH World Title and Strong Openweight. 2024.05.26 20:16 lisacoopervv EH daily meal plan??? aka. help…
TW: talking about excessive exercising (not in detail though)
Okay so… I’m in all-in recovery and listening to my body and eat what I want and when I want and how much I want and all that stuff and I’m actually doing quite good… but the day isn’t even over yet and I already ate so much today (at least in my opinion) and I feel so… inhuman and big and even a tiny bit disgusting… pls tell me that this is normal during EH in ana/orthorexia recovery…
Just for reference, what I ate today so far (it’s 8 p.m now);
- 3 brioche slices with blubbery jam, apricot jam and Nutella + a bowl of porridge with nuts, strawberries, bananas, apples and honey
- 2 plates of chicken with some sauce, a mix of vegetables and noodles
- a bowl of Greek yogurt with granola, honey, nuts, Nutella, crumbled biscoff cookie and some pieces of chocolate added to it
- a chocolate fudge pop tart, a Mozart kugel and a chocolate chip cookie
- 3 chicken wings, 2 handful of fries and 4 chicken nuggets
- 2 plates of spaghetti (because the upper meal obviously didn’t fill me up since it’s only high in fat stuff🙈)
- a lemon cookie and some small almond pastry (wasn’t that good tho lmao-)
PLS tell me that this is not sick or something….
I feel so full now and tired and I feel like I need to exercise… I want it so so badly (I’m a ana/orthorexia and extremly excessive exerciser).
I don’t really feel guilty but I just feel bad and feel like nobody else would even think about eating so much in a day…
I still did like a small 10 min workout and some small bed exercises there and there but I have the urge to at least get up and go far a walk or a run but I know that that’s not what I want, it’s just my annoying ED voice but it’s really hard, I feel so big and heavy and I know that exercising would give me some kind of satisfaction but it would also give me more pain and less energy because once I start working out, it’s really hard to stop, I just can’t stop and workout for like at least 20/30 minutes nonstop.
And I know that I need the weight and especially the energy and recovery really feels awesome most days but on some days (like today), I just feel disgusting and genuinely think about relapsing.
Please just tell me (only if you’re comfortable of course), how your day during EH went…. Because I’m going a bit crazy here and feel pretty alone :/ thx in advance!

2024.05.26 12:04 HauntingClocks Vegetarian with PCOS - what can I eat to keep my weight down?
Earlier this year I was diagnosed with PCOS by an endocrinologist who said my FSH and LH hormone ratio was not balanced. I also have a cyst on one of my ovaries. I was on hormonal contraception for about 15 years and when I came off it fully (I was on various pills and the ring and always had quite bad pain), my periods never came back and my weight increased a lot. At my healthiest, I was 50kg, and now I'm 68kg. I rapidly gained 6kg in one month.
I'm currently taking spironolactone to encourage my periods to come back (prescribed by the endo). A week after starting that, I did get a period (this was January this year) but I've only have 2 periods since. My last one was in April.
Exercise wise, I go to the gym at least once a week, do yoga/pilates once a week, and have a PT session. At the gym, I do a mix of cardio and weights. I also have a dog, and I walk with him everyday about 30 mins. I work from home so I am sitting a lot.
My symptoms besides the weight gain are fatigue which gets quite extreme sometimes where I can barely get up, yet if I sleep, I still wake up exhausted. My hair has gotten thinner also and I've noticed more facial hair (but it's thin) and my face is a moon shape now compared to my previous shape. My neck and chin and cheeks are quite different to how they were before. The weight is also noticeable on my stomach, thighs and upper arms. I've also gone from a C to a DD but that's probably from the Spiro. My skin also flares into angry swollen patches of eczema on my face and hands.
In other bloody tests, I've had positive results for ANA which my doctor said are related to connective tissue and inflammation. I also saw a rheumatologist who said I had Psoriatic Arthritis but he didn't do any bloods or anything so I'm unsure about that.
Despite the medication and exercise I'm still concerned with my weight. I'm vegetarian since I was 7 (I'm in my 30s now) and I'm looking into diets for PCOS. I've read that low carb is the way to go, but I don't want to do keto. Has anyone found a diet that's easy to follow and that make a difference to their weight/symptoms?
