2024.05.22 03:32 Azhteca Hunting waterfowl & upland birds with 30ā pump gun?
I know itās not ideal, just wondering if anyone has experience using a 30ā for both waterfowl and upland.
For context on my locationā¦ Manitoba, Canada. I have access to essentially endless acres of prairie, bush and woodland in the province.
There is a lot of waterfowl opportunities and sharp-tailed grouse in the fields are my favorite hunt. Ruffed and Spruce grouse are plentiful too and Iām often in the woods chasing those later in the season.
The reason Iām asking, is thereās a few nice old wood furniture pumps for sale in my area with 30ā barrel im considering buying.

2024.05.21 20:07 Victor882 Biome dungeon modifiers
It would be nice if the biomes could have speciific dungeon modifiers they could apply to the dungeons they dropped that are not, thematically, the main dungeon from that enviroment (Risen hell = Abyss and such).
The negative modifiers would be offset by a positive one like it normally works, this could occur rarely and maybe even have some extra positive features like a somewhat shared drop table.
Examples:
Abyss dropped in Sprite Forest - Modifier: Sprited away - The dungeon and boss room is riddled with those sprite conveyor belts but only colored Red and Obsidian. The map would generate them randomly while the boss room would have a predetermined layout. The Fire Sprite enemy would spawn randomly around the dungeon rooms and rarely drop dex. Similar adapted effect on a Sprited away Sewers or Mad lab.
Snake pit dropped in Coral reefs - Modifier: Flooded - The dungeon would generate random water pools, low hp coral barriers between rooms and the leviathan enemy would spawn rarely (ALONE) in some rooms. The boss would be on a completely underwater room with bubbles. Similar adapted effect on a Flooded Sprite world.
Manor dropped in Risen Hell - Modifier: Infernal - The dungeon would spawn with several lava pools, the manor hounds would sometimes be replaced by the cerberous hound thing from Risen Hells and the dungeon's bats would be replaced with "Fire bats" that deal more damage but no confuse. Ruthven would spawn lava pools around his coffins and fire some armor breaking unholy fireballs. Similar adapted effect on a Infernal Undead Lair.
Puppet dropped in Haunted Hallows - Modifier: Spooky - The dungeon would spawn with random decorative pumpkins, a dimming effect similar to the patience phase, several piles of bones that may or may not animate and become the Skeleton from UDL and a new Haunted Doll enemy that would jumpscare players by charging and firing a mid damage shotgun with a 0,5 blinding effect. Similar adapted effect on a Spooky Mad lab.
Bonus if the bosses could also have a alternative sprite, like a horned devil-like Ruthven for a Infernal manor or a mermaid tailed blue stheno for a flooded Snake pit?
Good idea or delusional?

| I unexpectedly found the pink-haired Odile mermaid in a make-up store in my country that NEVER has any cool Barbies for sale in retail, so she came home with me because everyone keeps yelling about her š
I admit, she's a lot prettier in person, especially after getting a new body! Here she is, modelling Fashion Royalty's Urban Geisha Kyori and one of the Fame and Fortune Vanessa outfits for your pleasure! She looks so cute in the green one, I think I might keep her like that permanently. Anyway, now that I know the stores around me are carrying them, I will keep my eyes for the purple one too! submitted by thegreymoon to Barbie [link] [comments] |

| Hello. šš» As I published the other day, I had bought this plush and today it arrived, but it turns out that it has a defect and that is, as you can see, mine is missing its tail. ): Should I ask for a refund? I don't know if there could be any value in not having the tail. The other buyer did receive a regular one with its tail and that. Also, mine did not have the sales label with the image of Squirtle as seen in the other's review. submitted by FluidConfidence1438 to pokeplush [link] [comments] |

2024.05.21 14:52 One_Traffic6627 Car sale company, sold faulty car
Hi, so I bought a car Citroen c3 2010 on the 29th Feb, the night I got the car the engine management light came on, called the sale place and informed them. They made an appointment for me in a local garage which I went too and was told it's a sensor that's all and they will get it fixed unfortunately the mechanics family member had passed away and said they could no longer do the work. I called the sale place again and they asked me to bring it back up (bought in Wakefield, live in Manchester) so they could get their local garage to fix the issue.
They had my car for 3 weeks without a single update from them I had to constantly call just for an update and kept getting "be with you Friday"
I drove up with a family member after the 3 weeks and asked if my car was fixed they said yes handed me my keys and said "don't come back, you've harassesd us for ages for update don't call again were done"
On the way home the car broke down on the motorway, oil pressure warning came on, called AA they said the oil isn't burning right and to get it booked in to see what's up with it
Got it to my local garage and they said it's gonna cost at least Ā£1700 to fix and even after that I still could be chasing my tail, the said to constant trading standards and citizens advice
Called citizen advice and they said send a record letter asking for a refund give them 7 days to respond, I've sent a letter they received it Thursday 16th, asking for a refund and stating the consumer act 2015 I still haven't heard anything back from them and I'm wondering what my next steps are
I haven't got the funds to take them to small claims or even to fix the car, I'm gutted as this is my first car my family are trying to help me out as much as they can but we just haven't got that type of money
My BIL said if worst comes to worst It might be better getting a refurbished engine in rather than fixing what's in there now and going from there as it will be the cheeper option but I don't want this company to get away with this what are my next steps? And what can I do?

2024.05.21 14:43 TEchfygeeks Explain keywords in Digital marketing?
| https://preview.redd.it/vb4hn8pbzr1d1.png?width=1280&format=png&auto=webp&s=1d5844eafeecc24742f356f63bf0ee4537730a2f In the vast and ever-evolving realm of digital marketing, keywords stand out as one of the most fundamental and crucial elements. They are the linchpins that connect content creators, businesses, and audiences, facilitating effective communication and interaction in the digital space. This blog delves into the intricacies of keywords, explaining their significance, types, and best practices in the context of digital marketing. What Are Keywords? Keywords are words or phrases that users enter into search engines to find information, products, or services. In digital marketing, they play a pivotal role in search engine optimization (SEO), pay-per-click (PPC) advertising, content marketing, and more. Essentially, keywords act as a bridge between what people are searching for and the content provided to meet those searches. The Importance of Keywords in Digital Marketing - Visibility and Ranking: Keywords are instrumental in determining the visibility of a website on search engine results pages (SERPs). Search engines like Google use algorithms that consider keyword relevance to rank pages. By optimizing content with appropriate keywords, businesses can improve their search engine rankings, driving organic traffic to their websites.
- Targeted Traffic: Effective keyword usage helps attract a specific audience. By focusing on keywords relevant to their niche or industry, businesses can draw visitors who are genuinely interested in their offerings, leading to higher engagement and conversion rates.
- Understanding Audience Intent: Keywords provide insights into what potential customers are looking for. By analyzing keyword trends and search queries, businesses can better understand consumer behavior, preferences, and pain points, allowing them to tailor their marketing strategies accordingly.
- Competitive Advantage: Strategic keyword research can reveal what competitors are focusing on. This information can help businesses identify gaps in the market, uncover new opportunities, and differentiate themselves from competitors.
Types of Keywords - Short-Tail Keywords: Also known as head keywords, these are usually one or two words long (e.g., "shoes"). They have high search volumes but are highly competitive and less specific.
- Long-Tail Keywords: These are longer, more specific phrases (e.g., "best running shoes for women"). Although they have lower search volumes, they attract more targeted traffic and have higher conversion rates due to their specificity.
- Branded Keywords: Keywords that include a brand's name (e.g., "Nike running shoes"). These are used by people who are already aware of the brand and are looking for specific products or information related to it.
- Non-Branded Keywords: Keywords that do not include any brand names (e.g., "running shoes"). These are crucial for attracting new customers who may not yet be familiar with the brand.
- Geo-Targeted Keywords: Keywords that include location-specific terms (e.g., "best pizza in New York"). These are essential for local SEO and targeting audiences in specific geographic areas.
- LSI (Latent Semantic Indexing) Keywords: These are related terms or phrases that search engines use to understand the context of content (e.g., "buy," "purchase," and "shop" are LSI keywords for "shopping"). Including LSI keywords helps improve content relevance and search engine rankings.
Keyword Research and Best Practices - Identify Goals: Start by defining your marketing objectives. Are you looking to increase website traffic, boost sales, or enhance brand awareness? Your goals will influence your keyword strategy.
- Use Keyword Research Tools: Tools like Google Keyword Planner, Ahrefs, SEMrush, and Moz can help identify relevant keywords, analyze search volumes, and assess competition. These tools provide valuable data to inform your keyword choices.
- Analyze Competitors: Study your competitors' websites and the keywords they are targeting. This can provide insights into what works in your industry and help you identify gaps or opportunities.
- Focus on Relevance: Ensure the keywords you choose are highly relevant to your content and audience. Irrelevant keywords may attract traffic, but it won't be useful if visitors don't find what they're looking for.
- Balance Short-Tail and Long-Tail Keywords: Use a mix of both to capture a broader audience while also targeting specific, high-intent searches. Long-tail keywords, in particular, can help you reach niche segments of your audience.
- Incorporate Keywords Naturally: Avoid keyword stuffing, which can lead to penalties from search engines. Instead, integrate keywords seamlessly into your content, including headings, subheadings, meta descriptions, and alt text for images.
- Monitor and Adapt: Regularly track the performance of your keywords using analytics tools. Adjust your strategy based on whatās working and whatās not, keeping up with changes in search algorithms and market trends.
Conclusion Keywords are the backbone of digital marketing, driving search engine optimization, content creation, and advertising strategies. By understanding the different types of keywords and how to effectively research and utilize them, businesses can enhance their online visibility, attract targeted traffic, and ultimately achieve their marketing goals. Staying informed about keyword trends and continuously refining your approach will help you maintain a competitive edge in the dynamic digital landscape. For those looking to deepen their knowledge and skills, an online digital marketing course can provide comprehensive insights into effective keyword strategies and the latest industry practices, ensuring you stay ahead in the ever-evolving world of digital marketing. submitted by TEchfygeeks to u/TEchfygeeks [link] [comments] |
2024.05.21 12:35 Interesting-Pea-5929 What role does SEO (Search Engine Optimization) play in attracting organic traffic to a dropshipping store?
Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is a fundamental strategy for attracting organic traffic to any online business, and dropshipping stores are no exception. In a competitive e-commerce landscape, effective SEO can distinguish your store from the countless others vying for consumer attention. Here's an in-depth look at how SEO can play a pivotal role in driving organic traffic to your dropshipping store.
1. Understanding SEO for Dropshipping SEO involves optimizing your website to rank higher on search engine results pages (SERPs), thus increasing visibility to potential customers. For
dropshipping stores in India, which often operate on thin margins and face stiff competition, leveraging SEO is crucial for sustainable growth.
2. Keyword Research Keyword research is the foundation of any successful SEO strategy. Identifying the right keywords helps you understand what potential customers are searching for. This involves:
- Long-Tail Keywords: These are more specific phrases that potential customers might use, such as "affordable ergonomic office chair." Long-tail keywords often have less competition and higher conversion rates.
- Product-Specific Keywords: Focus on keywords directly related to your dropshipping products. This ensures that your store appears in searches for the exact products you offer.
Effective keyword research tools like Google Keyword Planner, SEMrush, and Ahrefs can provide insights into search volume and competition levels for your chosen keywords.
3. On-Page Optimization On-page SEO refers to the practices used to optimize individual web pages to rank higher. Key elements include:
- Title Tags and Meta Descriptions: These are the first things users see on SERPs. They should be compelling and include your target keywords to improve click-through rates.
- Header Tags (H1, H2, H3): Properly structured headers help search engines understand the content of your page and improve readability for users.
- Content Quality: High-quality, informative, and engaging content is essential. Product descriptions, blog posts, and landing pages should provide value and include relevant keywords naturally.
- URL Structure: Clean, descriptive URLs that include keywords help search engines and users understand what the page is about.
4. Technical SEO Technical SEO ensures that your website meets the technical requirements of search engines. Important aspects include:
- Site Speed: Fast-loading pages improve user experience and are favored by search engines. Tools like Google PageSpeed Insights can help you identify and fix speed issues.
- Mobile Optimization: With the increasing use of mobile devices, having a mobile-friendly website is crucial. Google uses mobile-first indexing, meaning it predominantly uses the mobile version of the content for indexing and ranking.
- Secure Website (HTTPS): Security is a ranking factor. Ensure your site uses HTTPS to protect user data and improve trust.
5. Content Marketing Content marketing is a powerful tool to attract and engage your target audience. By creating valuable content that addresses the needs and interests of your potential customers, you can drive organic traffic and establish your store as an authority in your niche. Strategies include:
- Blog Posts: Regularly publishing blog posts on relevant topics can attract visitors searching for information related to your products.
- Guides and Tutorials: Comprehensive guides and how-to tutorials can drive traffic and build trust with your audience.
- Product Reviews and Comparisons: Detailed reviews and comparisons help customers make informed decisions, increasing the likelihood of conversions.

2024.05.21 07:57 mencho14 Fell in love
The ocean has always been my solace. As a marine biologist, Iāve spent countless hours diving into its depths, cataloging its wonders, and marveling at its mysteries. But nothing could have prepared me for the day I met her.
It started like any other dive. The water was a crystalline blue, teeming with life. I was deep in the coral reefs off the coast of the Maldives, studying the effects of climate change on marine biodiversity. My equipment hummed gently, and the rhythmic sound of my breathing through the regulator was a comforting constant.
I was documenting a particularly vibrant section of the reef when I noticed something unusual. A flash of iridescent green and blue darted behind a large rock formation. Curiosity piqued, I swam closer. At first, I thought it was a trick of the light, perhaps a large fish or a stray piece of seaweed. But then I saw her.
She was breathtaking. Long, flowing hair the color of the ocean at dawn framed a face that seemed almost ethereal. Her eyes, deep and sparkling, locked onto mine with an intensity that made my heart race. And her tail ā a magnificent, shimmering tail ā flicked gracefully in the water, sending ripples through the reef.
I blinked, certain I was hallucinating. But she remained, watching me with an expression that was both curious and wary. Slowly, I reached out a hand, unsure of what to do or say. To my amazement, she mirrored my gesture, her slender fingers grazing mine through the water. A jolt of electricity shot through me at the contact.
For what felt like an eternity, we stayed like that, suspended in the water, two beings from different worlds connecting in a way Iād never thought possible. Finally, she broke the silence, her voice a soft melody that echoed in my ears even through the water.
āMy name is Lyria,ā she said, her gaze never wavering.
āIām Alex,ā I managed to reply, my voice trembling with awe.
Over the next few weeks, we met often. I would dive at the same spot, and she would be there, waiting. We communicated through gestures, expressions, and the occasional word. I learned about her world ā a hidden kingdom beneath the waves, where mermaids lived in harmony with the oceanās creatures. And she learned about mine ā the surface world, with its cities, technology, and endless skies.
As the days passed, our bond deepened. I found myself looking forward to our meetings more than anything else. I told her about my research, my dreams, and my fears. She listened with an intensity that made me feel truly seen for the first time in my life. In return, she shared stories of her people, their legends, and their ways.
One evening, as the sun set in a blaze of orange and pink, casting golden rays through the water, I realized I had fallen in love with her. The thought terrified me. How could a scientist and a mermaid ever be together? Our worlds were so different, and the obstacles seemed insurmountable.
But love, I learned, is a force more powerful than reason. One night, as we floated beneath the starlit sky, I confessed my feelings. āLyria, I donāt know how this could ever work, but I love you.ā
She smiled, her eyes shimmering with unshed tears. āI love you too, Alex.ā
In that moment, everything seemed possible. We made a pact to find a way to be together, no matter the challenges. Our love, born in the depths of the ocean, would find a way to bridge the gap between our worlds.
And so, our journey began ā a tale of two hearts, one from the land and one from the sea, united by a love that defied the boundaries of science and magic.

2024.05.21 07:16 Organic_Drawing_8969 Boosting Your E-commerce Site's SEO: A Comprehensive Guide
In the competitive world of e-commerce, ranking high on search engine results pages (SERPs) is crucial for driving traffic and increasing sales. Optimizing your e-commerce site for
SEO involves a combination of technical tweaks, content strategies, and user experience enhancements. Here's a detailed guide to help you boost your e-commerce site's and achieve better rankings.
1. Conduct Thorough Keyword Research
Start by identifying the keywords your potential customers are using to search for products. Use tools like Google Keyword Planner, Ahrefs, or SEMrush to find high-volume, low-competition keywords relevant to your products. Focus on long-tail keywords, which are more specific and often have higher conversion rates. For example, instead of targeting "shoes," aim for "men's running shoes size 10."
2. Optimize Product Pages
Each product page on your site should be optimized for its target keywords. Here's how:
- Title Tags and Meta Descriptions: Ensure each product page has a unique title tag and meta description that include your target keywords. Keep them compelling to improve click-through rates.
- Headers (H1, H2, H3): Use headers to structure your content, incorporating keywords naturally.
- Product Descriptions: Write detailed, unique product descriptions that highlight features, benefits, and specifications. Avoid duplicate content at all costs.
- Image Optimization: Use high-quality images with descriptive file names and alt text to improve visibility in image searches.
- URL Structure: Create clean, keyword-rich URLs. Instead of ā[www.example.com/product123,ā]() use ā[www.example.com/mens-running-shoes.ā]()
3. Improve Site Structure and Navigation
A well-structured site makes it easier for search engines to crawl and index your pages. Consider these best practices:
- Breadcrumbs: Implement breadcrumb navigation to help users and search engines understand your site hierarchy.
- Internal Linking: Link related products and categories to distribute link equity and help users discover more content.
- Sitemaps: Create XML sitemaps and submit them to Google Search Console to ensure all your pages are indexed.
4. Enhance User Experience
User experience (UX) is a significant ranking factor. Google prioritizes sites that offer a seamless, enjoyable experience. Focus on these areas:
- Page Speed: Fast-loading pages improve user satisfaction and reduce bounce rates. Use tools like Google Page Speed Insights to identify and fix issues.
- Mobile Optimization: Ensure your site is fully responsive and performs well on mobile devices. Googleās mobile-first indexing means your mobile site must be just as effective as your desktop version.
- Secure Shopping Experience: Use HTTPS to secure transactions and protect customer data, which also positively impacts your rankings.
5. Leverage Customer Reviews and Ratings
Customer reviews not only build trust but also provide fresh, user-generated content that can improve your SEO. Encourage satisfied customers to leave reviews on your product pages and third-party sites like
Google My Business. 6. Implement Schema Markup
Schema markup helps search engines understand your content better and can enhance your search results with rich snippets. For e-commerce sites, use product schema to provide information such as price, availability, and reviews.
7. Create High-Quality Content
Regularly publish high-quality, informative content that addresses your audience's needs and interests. This can include:
- Blog Posts: Write articles related to your products, such as buying guides, how-tos, and industry news.
- Videos: Create product demos, unboxing videos, and tutorials to engage your audience.
- Infographics: Share visually appealing infographics that summarize important information or trends.
8. Build Quality Backlinks
Backlinks from reputable sites signal to search engines that your site is trustworthy and authoritative. Implement these strategies to build quality backlinks:
- Guest Blogging: Write guest posts for relevant blogs and include links back to your site.
- Influencer Outreach: Partner with influencers in your niche to review your products and share links.
- PR Campaigns: Get featured in industry publications and news sites by pitching unique stories and insights.
Conclusion
Improving your e-commerce site's SEO requires ongoing effort and a multifaceted approach. By focusing on keyword research, on-page optimization, site structure, user experience, content creation, and backlink building, you can enhance your site's visibility and drive more organic traffic. Stay updated with the latest SEO trends and continuously refine your strategies to stay ahead of the competition.

2024.05.21 05:57 tempmailgenerator Resolving RPC_ERROR in Odoo When Emailing Quotations in Persian
Understanding Odoo's Email Quotation Issue
Odoo, as an all-encompassing business management software, offers a wide array of functionalities to streamline operations, including sales, CRM, project management, and more. One of its key features allows users to send quotations directly to clients via email, facilitating a smoother transaction process. However, users may encounter the 'RPC_ERROR' when attempting to send these quotations in Persian, a challenge that points towards deeper issues within system configurations or language compatibility. This problem not only disrupts the sales process but also highlights the importance of system adaptability and language support in global business environments.
The occurrence of an 'RPC_ERROR' during such a crucial step of the sales process can be alarming for Odoo users, especially when dealing with international clients. The error typically signifies a Remote Procedure Call (RPC) problem, which could stem from various factors including email template misconfigurations, language encoding issues, or even server-side problems. Understanding the root cause is essential for troubleshooting and ensuring that business communications remain seamless and efficient. This introduction will pave the way for exploring the intricacies of the issue and providing a comprehensive guide to resolving it, ensuring that your business operations in Odoo remain unaffected by language barriers.
Command/Software | Description |
Odoo Server Logs | Inspecting Odoo server logs for errors related to the RPC_ERROR when sending emails in Persian. |
Email Template Configuration | Adjusting the email template settings in Odoo to ensure compatibility with Persian language encoding. |
Language Settings | Verifying and configuring the language settings in Odoo to support Persian characters properly. |
Troubleshooting RPC_ERROR in Odoo
The 'RPC_ERROR' encountered when sending quotations by email in Odoo, particularly in Persian, is a multifaceted issue that necessitates a thorough understanding of both Odoo's email system and the intricacies of encoding for different languages. This error typically surfaces when the system attempts to process or render Persian characters within email templates, which can be due to inadequate configuration or compatibility issues between the server and the client-side encoding. It is crucial to first verify that the Odoo setup, including the email server settings, supports UTF-8 encoding, which encompasses a wide array of characters from various languages, including Persian. This ensures that the system can accurately render and transmit Persian characters without corruption.
Furthermore, customizing the email templates to better handle Persian characters may be necessary. This involves not only adjusting the template's language settings but also ensuring that any static text within the template is correctly encoded and displayed. Beyond technical adjustments, understanding the cultural and linguistic nuances associated with the target audience, in this case, Persian-speaking clients, can enhance communication and minimize errors. This broader approach not only addresses the immediate RPC_ERROR but also contributes to a more inclusive and effective communication strategy within Odoo. By tackling both the technical and cultural aspects of the issue, businesses can ensure a smoother operation and a better user experience for their Persian-speaking clientele.

Tackling Odoo's Email Sending Challenges in Persian
Addressing the 'RPC_ERROR' encountered when sending quotations via email in Persian through Odoo involves a deep dive into both technical and linguistic considerations. The complexity of this issue stems from how Odoo handles email content encoding, template rendering, and the integration of languages with distinct character sets. Ensuring that the system's email configuration is set to support UTF-8 encoding is a critical step. UTF-8 encoding supports a broad spectrum of characters, including those specific to the Persian language, thereby facilitating the correct rendering and transmission of email content without data corruption or loss of formatting.
Beyond technical configurations, tailoring email templates for Persian language compatibility is equally vital. This process may include customizing the template's language settings and verifying that all static texts within the template are accurately encoded in Persian. Engaging with the cultural and linguistic nuances of Persian-speaking clients enhances the effectiveness of communication and reduces the likelihood of encountering errors like 'RPC_ERROR'. By addressing both the technical underpinnings and the cultural dimensions, businesses can leverage Odoo's capabilities to foster better engagement with their Persian-speaking audience, ensuring smoother operations and an improved user experience.

2024.05.21 03:20 Local-Suggestion2807 I can't get around the restaurant thing
Both in mako mermaids and JAW. I've worked around food for most of my life and we're expected to wash our hands all the time. Every half hour, whenever we change positions, after coughing and sneezing, after touching our faces or hair, after clocking in, whenever we change gloves. And even without that, there's liquid everywhere. Spilled drinks, dressings and sauces that need to be prepped, cleaning supplies, leaking trash bags, trash runs when it's raining. And, in my experience, associates at a restaurant will get cross trained in every position so even if the girls apply to a job as just a hostess or a cashier, they'd be expected to learn food production, dish, prep, barista, waiting tables, probably other things I'm forgetting about.
And they're not willing to explain why they won't do certain things? That's a good way to make enemies out of your coworkers and lose your job for insubordination. Sure, theoretically they could prove what they were saying, but even if they were willing to trust their coworkers and managers with that kind of secret, that's a huge exposure risk especially with security cameras everywhere and repair people coming in and out. And let's say they did explain it. How do you think they'd handle that, logistically? Because the roles in which they're least likely to get wet would also be customer facing, which means if they do get wet they either will transform in front of a customer (exposure risk) or they need to run really fast and get somewhere private. And some Karen would definitely complain to corporate about that. Plus how do they do it with new coworkers? Imagine starting at a new job and your supervisor tells you "Oh yeah that's Evie/Rikki/whoever, no you can't ask her to do dish because she'll grow a tail"
Not to mention that none of them drive at the start of the show, so they'd probably have to walk to work in the rain. I can see how that might be easier for the Mako Mermaids girls, not counting Evie, because they have Rita to take them places and to teach them how to navigate being a mermaid around humans, but what about Cleo, Emma, and Rikki? Especially since it seems like Miss Chatham is less interested in giving them practical advice and more interested in just being as cryptic as possible?
Ever since I started watching mako mermaids and rewatching JAW, the fact that most of the mermaids, plus Erik, work in a restaurant at some point has made me want to scream. Why didn't they just change the restaurant setting to something like a clothing store where there wouldn't be as much water around? Or better yet, a bookstore, where the staff would have to make sure the merchandise stays as dry as possible? Like I'm js if I were a mermaid, when I was looking for my first job I would have gone for retail.

2024.05.21 01:32 Ok_Birthday2738 House bought in cash but paid only by me and loan from my family, house will now be an investment property but my husband does not want to pay his half or be removed from title
I will try to keep this post brief.
My now husband and I met almost 2 years ago in Canada, he is from another country but has Canadian citizenship. He had never lived in Canada before we met, and pushed for us to go to his home country almost as soon as we met.
During our time together in Canada, we were passively looking for a house to purchase (I was house hunting solo before I met him, and we wanted to have a pied a terre in case we decided we would stay in Canada). We were almost going to give up when we found an amazing deal on a property needing major work in may 2023. We purchased it at ~50% of the municipal evaluation (montreal) and had to buy it in cash as the bank did not want to offer financing due to the condition (complete Reno, but mostly interior work including structural). I had cash saved up (~300k) and my husband initially was going to put ~250k but then backed out claiming he will have significant expenses when we were going to move (furnishing a house that is much bigger, paying the property taxes on it etc). He refused to let me purchase it on my own (claimed that the eventual mortgage once remodelled/loan of my parents would fall on both of us). I was pregnant at the time and didnāt want to argue, but also did not want to pass up on the deal. We ended up buying it in cash, my parents put 250k as a loan, and I put 300k. We were able to get a ~170k mortgage at 2% for 1 year from a mortgage transfer that my parents had on a home they had sold to help us with the renovations (I estimate it will maybe cost another 40-80k more).
Fast forward to today, we are in his home country and he is extremely controlling over finances. He has also started asking me to pay for things he originally said he would cover. Every expense is a fuss (including daycare for our 6 month old). Due to the situation and the fact that the house in Canada will be an investment property for the time being, I have asked him to discuss a more fair arrangement on this house; pay back 50% of what I put in (even though the house likely went up in a value and the yield for cash is incredibly favorable these days), or agree to transfer the house in my name (my preferred option). I explained that I need my financial independence back, would be happy to contribute to joint expenses and donāt want to ask him/ rely on him for purchases I want to make, and can use the rental income that will eventually be generated (long tail). He has flat out refused with no valid and reasonable explanation. He claims I came up with this just recently and that I canāt force him out although we discussed he would pay me back within a year or so. He owns several properties, likely a couple times over the value of this home, and owns them solo (most without mortgage) but refuses to allow me to have my own investment. I feel completely betrayed and am incredibly pissed at myself for originally agreeing to the deal. We do have a signed letter prepared by a Canadian notary that states that my parents and I will be disbursed our full amounts upon any refinancing or sale.
Please, I would like to know any recourse I may have to get the house back in my name, itās my life savings and the only property in my name. I acted in good faith and really believed I could trust him but now I think I have to protect myself.
Ps I know I am in a fortunate position to own a home and donāt take it for granted.

2024.05.20 21:14 Oneteenth Will I use it? Deciding on whether to invest in a cargo bike in the Midwest.
For context, I live in a medium-sized midwestern city, a college town with some bike infrastructure but a lot of areas where bike lanes donāt exist. Small hills but nothing crazy. It snows in the winter but the weather is good maybe 7-8 months a year. I ride a road bike to work most days in the spring-fall for exercise and transportation. I have two kids - 2 and 4, and am wondering about investing in a cargo bike for tooling around on weekends, trips to the grocery store, maybe commuting in the winter. In a few years my kids will be able to walk to school, so we wonāt need it for school drop off for too long.
Iām deciding whether to make the plunge and get a cargo bike, probably a long tail, but Iām not sure how much Iād use it and how much to spend. Iāve thought about getting an acoustic bike (Yuba Kombi) but worry about the weight of hauling two kids, or investing in something bigger like a Tern HSD or GSD but it feels like a big expense when Iām not sure how much Iād use it. I road an Aventon my friends had and it was fine but I preferred the Tern when I test road one (the HSD was delightful). Thereās an HSD S11 for sale in town for 3850$ - itās used - and I wonder about this as a winter commuter and to carry one kiddo (my 4.5 yo gets around pretty well on a pedal bike).
Not sure exactly what my question is//are, but homing for some insight from this community. Did anyone make the plunge and use it way more than expected? Is the HSD sufficient for mostly carrying one kid, occasionally 2 (I can always upgrade to a gsd if I love it?). Is that a fair price? Is a the yuba kombi unrealistic?
