Hi, I’m new to 40K and have started with a death guard combat patrol. I wasn’t very aware of what I was doing and I love the look and lore of Death Guard but have heard CSM have more of a competitive edge and variety to them after a recent visit to my local warhammer store.
I plan on buying a CSM combat patrol in the future and was wondering if I should buy the new or old Combat patrol? I have two wardogs aswell as the death guard combat patrol. Not too sure on if there is much cross over and compatibility with what I have on hand.

Looking to grab my first shotgun, debating between a Gen 2 1301 + Aridus Zhukov, or grabbing the Mod 2 with the new Mlok handguard. Looks like the Zhukov is way more common having been one of few options for some time and and being offered on LTT builds — it seems to be well-liked enough, but I’ve also seen complaints of it feeling cheap and buying one to add to a Gen 2 1301 would put the price point much closer to buying a Mod 2 outright.
FWIW all I need is one slot to mount a WML; I don’t need a pressure switch or anything else so the Aridus Zhukov having more slots is a moot point to me.
So, for anyone with experience, would you grab the Zhukov again if the Mod 2 handguard were available for the same price? Why or why not? Thanks in advance.

2024.05.16 08:53 TheOnlyHighmont So, I am trying to build a 2k army...

I am initially a T'au collector, but I recently made the rounds on miniswap. I ended up with about 2.6k Space Marines in the trades and sales.
Now, using what I have, or is on the way, I have made a couple of lists, mostly to prioritize the things to build and paint. I will be magnetizing what I can (mostly the stuff that is NoS) to help with WYSIWYG. Things like vehicles, sergeants, and the like.
All that preamble is to say that I want to participate in the local Crusade this fall. Currently, I just don't have time to jump in, but I have a slot waiting for me. We play at 1k with no epic heros, so that locks me out of a few options.
Best part is that this will be my first time playing 40k.
I decided to build a 2k list from what I have and see where to go from there. I will make a 1k list from that to cover my Crusade army. However, I am currently stuck at 1835 points with a decision to make for that last 165. I have already dropped in enhancements, to make this a legit list if someone wants to play a 2k pick up.
So, the list below leaves me with two options. I can spend that 165 on either another Assault Intercessor squad, bringing me up to 3, and I can add a Sterguard Veteran Squad. Or I can spend 140 points on a Ballistus Dreadnought for some real tank killing potential.
I am open to either idea. Still toying with the idea of just running my T'au, but I am torn about running something more balanced to learn the ins and outs of 40k, or running something techy when I don't know all of the mechanics.

Snowhawk mount vesuvius on turn 5, yet I am still unable to retreat even though you can clearly see I have not snapped and I have not ended my turn.
I hate to be negative, but the amount of bugs that have suddenly been occurring in this game have been increasing every patch.
Also can’t flair this as a bug since the mods don’t have that as an option.

Question about mounting SIMAGIC P1000 pedals and Alpha wheel on Playseat Challenge X
Hello everyone,
Does anyone have any knowledge of whether the mounts are compatible? Are there any extras I should plan on getting in order to get everything solidly screwed on? Any after market accessories? I live in the US.
For more background: I recently built a PC for sim racing and dusted off a TX wheel and T3PA pedals (w/ conical mod) I had stored away and have absolutely loved the jump from Xbox (forza and f1) into AC and ACC. Due to space concerns I went with a Playseat challenge X. Unlike the regular challenge, this one has spots where pedals can be screwed into, which is great for stability.
I now want to upgrade to a Simagic alpha (mini vs alpha) and p1000 pedals. I know l, I know, the cockpit isn’t ideal for this kind of load, but it seems that people have had decent experiences w the DD wheel and a Playseat challenge cockpit. … as far as the breaks go, I have some weights I pin the seat down with so it doesn’t lift up when I put pressure with breaking, which has worked well.
Any thought on mounting these two? Thanks!

Decided to get a second sword….
I posted a week or so ago about the Moonveil Katana I bought, and decided to buy a second sword. From Kult of Athena and Iron Tiger Forge, listed as a battle of the ready Chinese Jian with a 1045 & 1065 folded high carbon steel blade. Second sword purchase and I love the look of the blade. Handle looks really nice as well, overall super happy with it.
Last picture is with my katana, both sheathed…should I get a second display mount or a bigger one so I can display them unsheathed? I like both the looks of displaying them sheathed and unsheathed so indecisive lol

I’ve been holding off on the NuPhy after reading so many discouraging comments in their sub and honestly, I’m not a fan of 80s. This is my first Nuphy. That said, while almost falling asleep the other night I decided to order one and I’ll be darned if they didn’t ship it and get it to me from china in four days. So quick, I couldn’t cancel it or change my mind, So here it is.
Before I got this board, I’d tried dozens of other boards that are half the cost. I have a bad habit of buying stuff and returning it after trying it. This hobby is expensive enough without having to be stuck with everything you try. I don’t live in a big city where any resellers are near me to experience any of these products hands on, So I rely on the friendly UPS and Amazon drivers to feed my addiction.
When considering it’s cost, I felt I was spending too much and worried I already didn’t love it before it got here. I think a close comparison in sound, feel and design would be the be the galaxy 80. Check out u/badmark posts to see his latest review of that one. (I returned it, the wireless dongle would not work with my kvm so I failed it.) I’m very happy to say this board delighted me. I found it’s value over the cheaper competitors in the little thing. For me, they all added up to make it a keeper. So much so that I made a video to share with you, feel free to troll it, in a nice way.

The little things I like: -Cost is affordable -Color is stunning, -Keycap choices are fun and I love the profile. -General availablabilty is good -Shipping was fast and cost inline with others -Switch choices are “average” but at least they exist -The sound right out of the box is great -The ability to disable and manipulate both the badge and status LED if you find them annoying like I did. -The status light itself, it’s a multi function one for all status light. Brilliant! -Comes with mounting mod options included -Comes with a screwdriver you actually want to keep so long as you have some additional bits for it.
So in summary; with Amazon selling so many Chinese aluminum boards all in price range at often times half the full built cost of this, why choose this one?

2024.05.16 05:14 Bitter-Collection243 iMac 27” Retina 5K internal SSD Issues

I have a 2017 iMac 27” Retina 5K with the i7-770k 16gb ram RX 575 4GB GPU
I purchased this Mac with a dead internal apple blade ssd. So cloning, backing up etc for this install will not be an option.
I have installed a Sintech NGFF M.2 nVME SSD Adapter Card for Upgrade 2013-2015 Year Macs(Not Fit Early 2013 MacBook Pro). With a Samsung Evo 970 m.2 SSD.
I cannot get Mac OS of any kind to install I have tried Ventura, Catalina, Sierra. I get the same exact issue every time. Install goes totally normal I format the drive to apfs with guid partition table and then install. The installer gets about halfway or so through then the progress bar stops. The countdown continues to go down from 20 minutes or so until about 1-2 minutes then it reboots and I get an Apple logo with a progress bar and a message that say about 22minutes remaining. Then it will get about halfway through and reboot again. It will just continue to reboot over and over until I get an error message that says your computer restarted due to an error etc.
I have tried a 2.5” SSD, a 2.5” Mechanical drive, and now I have a WD SN 750 m.2 installed. All drives give the same exact issue.
I finally got fed up and installed windows so I could atleast confirm all my hardware is working correctly and temps are good and they are.
I have tried csrutil disable, naming the formatted drive Macintosh HD. Internet recovery, USB Recovery. Safe mode will load up but it basically freezes immediately.
If anyone has any suggestions let me know otherwise I’m going to install a modded version of Mac OS or just leave it on windows.

I have a kickstarter project. It aims at digitizing tabletop wargames (like warhammer 40k). I currently have several sample/placeholder images that I am using that were AI generated, but I would like to upgrade them for actual human art. Most of the images involve some form of "digitizing" process of miniatures and can range from sketch drawings to full art. I have attached a google drive folder showing off some of the look and feel and even some images I need replaced.
If you feel like you would be a good fit for this project, let me know. The deadline is within a few weeks and I need approximately 5 images "humanized". Basically the concept of what they are showing.. but better and by a human.

Who was like “we need cool melee weapons for this Warhammer 40k, hmm I know how about 10 different types of shovels”. I just wanna talk. I get the first weapon being a shovel, it’s kinda funny and it’s nice a nice feeling to upgrade from it. But why is there more than one version? Why can’t I have a big ass axe or hammer for my Ogryn instead of three different versions of shovels? Not a fan personally. Description: Pretty cool Para 3 up for raffle. Featuring LynchNW titanium "skinny" scales in Northern Light ano, and a "rock mod" blade in S30V. The blade itself has a decent sharpening job from PO, but wouldn't call it great. The tip of the blade is a bit rounded, but overall functions fine. Good centering on the blade, with nice action. The scales show no signs of wear or blemishes, as I have not cut or carried with this since installing the scales. This one doesn't have a Spyderco box, but will come with the LynchNW box.

Hello. I am a newcomer to Warhammer 40k as to board game, and I wanna play Grey Knights as I love their background and their armour design.
So I want to clarify some moments:
Since every model is psyker in my army, how many times in one turn I can try "deny the witch"?
And in my psychic phase, I can try to cast something with every model or I cast it per unit? ( that could be a really long phase). Also I don't see people doing it much in Battle reports...

So I have been around the anime world since I was born and thanks to my Chad dad who let me experience anime at such a young anime where my first anime is studio Gibili movie: Howls Moving Castle. I started watching isekai anime around 4 years ago when Nurgle decided to put a plague on the world aka covid. I watched a lot of isekai and saw some good ones and bad ones. There is a list of isekai where I don’t like but the rest of the community does like and vice versa. I will go over an explanation why I don’t like some. If you don’t like my opinion go suck an egg you children.
Jobless Reincarnation: one I don’t like: it is a good anime and it changes the genre for the better but gets complicated and I know what is going to happen. I don’t like it since it make the show feel more realistic and anime is supposed to break off from reality and let us escape into happiness. It is still good but not for me.
That time I got reincarnated as a slime: best isekai in the world. Amazing Lore and story telling. Kinda reminds me of the Lord of the Rings books. Get darker when latter chapters and I am from the Warhammer 40k community (my favorite legion is Salamanders or the white scars). It has amazing plot processing and character arcs. Jobless reincarnation has a better character development and reminds me of my life. Best isekai and wish there is more.
Overlord: is good and love it but gets bland because there is no plot progression for the main character except mass genocide.
I have also watch a lot of trashy isekai and wish there is more good quality like the once’s up there wishing for more good anime. You can recommend me new once’s or do what Redditors do all day and complain how bad my own opinion is. And now I will lurk for an infinity while saving people life as a volunteer ems and studying to be a nurse.

Somewehere in nevada there´s a very well known organization called AAHW who tries to eliminate Hank J. Wimblengton, no matter the cost, you are a Magnified agent, sended by the auditor with a squad of other engineers and normal 1137 agents to check up what´s happening on the strip unfortunately your squad ends up killed by a group called ¨NCR¨, knocking you out to make experiments with you, you put up a good fight and rampage with all of these ¨soldiers¨ near a safehouse by red rock canyon, out of curiosity you decide to investigate what´s in there....
You are someone whose main feats are his descomunal strength and his insane resistance, this making you a butt kicking machine along with its slightly ability to make use of firearms even though you are so massive.
Now lets talk about your disadvantages, thanks to your excess body mass you lack agility and complex motor skills to make good use of bladed and blunt weapons especially smaller ones so you prefer to just use your giant fists, to add on top of that is that just for being part of the AAHW you aren´t that lucky to begin.

Soooo with all of this said, here is how the SPECIAL points are distributed:
Strength: 9, it should be pretty obvious by now
Perception: 4 the standard PLUS you height
Endurance: 8, bulky boy
Carisma: 3, if you count intimidation as social skills maybe?
Intelligence: 3, you aren´t that good at making desicions
Agility: 2, it should be pretty obvious by now, you are MASSIVE baby!
Luck: 3, just because of all your bad luck surrounding you

Now the traits:
-kamikaze, becuase why not mag agents get pretty beat up in the series, resisting to 20 pistol shots or more.
-heavy handed: cus of BIG HANDS

For all the reasons mentioned in the first pharagraph.

And let´s move on to some of the mods we will be using to complement the build:
- New Vegas Enforcer Suit (Black Suit Black Shirt Red Tie) - Standalone at Fallout New Vegas - mods and community (nexusmods.com) to match the look of the main madness combat series.
- Another Millenia at Fallout New Vegas - mods and community (nexusmods.com) for your starting weapons, you will be using either the police shotgun (M37), or the combat shotgun alongside the quantity of ammo you´d like.

Rules of the build:
-you dont level up anymore of your special stats!
-you aren´t the kind of guy to make plans.... that´s just too complicated, you just like pump yourself up and DESTROY whenever you can! so you just go gun´s blazing in all of your fights
-take the red rock canyon safehouse start!
-I should be noting here that is absolutely obligatory that, to have a more character embracing experience, just starting your playthrough you have to equip the stuff from the mods besides the lucky shades jejejejejjejejejejjeje.
