2024.05.14 10:52 cow343434 Best Blink vinyls
recently bought enema and dude ranch on vinyl and their both great but don’t know where to go from here. i love all blinks albums and side project albums but i just cant decide, anyone with the following albums on vinyl:
boxcar racer when your heart stops beating self-titled neighbourhoods california deluxe (also anyone with wolves in wolves clothing, NOFX)
What’s your favourite? how good do they sound? what would you recommend? i have a foot turn table and speaker system so that’s not an issue and i understand it comes down to personal preference and my choice but i’m indecisive af

2024.05.14 04:35 iblankalot1 Siding question
I’m needing my vinyl siding replaced - it’s cracked and poorly installed in some places. I pulled back a little section and it looks like they may have installed the vinyl tracks (or whatever it’s called) over wood or hardie board siding.
I got a quote for almost $9k to replace the vinyl siding, but I’m curious about whether removing the siding and refurbishing the old wood/hardie board would be more cost effective?
Additionally, the home is a split level with part brick and part vinyl. Built in 1959 in Colorado - what are the odds we have brick under all of the siding that we could uncover?

2024.05.14 04:22 freddiecrystal Just a guy trying to understand venting requirements for a flat roof
Currently working towards being able to finish the interior of my garage (seems to be a converted carport) by siding, replacing soffit/fascia/gutters, etc. and I’m currently hung up trying to understand whether soffit vents and an air gap will be required when it comes time to finish the ceiling. 5B climate zone. My best guess is the roof is TPO (white membrane, squishy underfoot) and has unvented plywood soffits covered by vinyl soffits. Appears to be almost completely flat. At this point I’m just trying to figure out whether I should vent the soffits while I’m replacing or not. Any knowledge would be awesome, but even some tips on what type of profession I should even be reaching out to would be helpful. Thanks! submitted by freddiecrystal to Roofing [link] [comments]

When I discovered the Jammix board allows you to mount the DE-10 nano in a mini ITX case I didn't waste the opportunity to make this build look like some vintage Hi-Fi equipment. The case is a Goodisory A01 with some wood vinyl wrap. I enlarged the antenna holes on the back to fit 3 buttons that mimic the functionality of the standard IO board. I really like how it resembles a glass panel full tower case while on it's side. submitted by jdigi78 to MiSTerFPGA [link] [comments]

2024.05.14 02:11 Material-Factor-7083 The Birth & Death of the Church of Romance
It started with musing on my ideal romantic day: a warm afternoon spent between cool sheets with a loving partner; listening to our favorite records and singing our favorite songs; hugging and kissing the day away. Whatever came after would be irrelevant because we would still have that moment. Then, in a flash, I realized this to be the focus, the inception, of the Church of Romance. Partners and consenting adults would form our congregation, and our holy relics would be a turntable and a pair of speakers. The congregation would make offerings of their favorite pressed vinyls, and services would proceed as described above, preferably in a large open space with dozens of fresh mattresses. The more zealous practitioners might imbibe psilocybin and cannabis to more fully experience the Sabbath's grandeur. Worshippers would leave feeling refreshed and at peace, ready to face the week's rigors knowing the support of the community would be waiting for them. For what could be more universal than love and music?!?! But my next thought was of how the Church would be perceived and eventually labeled. Drug-addled, perverted, polygamous fornicators; New-Age free love hippies with no real beliefs and no discernible benefit to God or country. Then would come the forced disbandings, public ostracization, and the eventual crushing of the Church's spirit and self... And so the Church of Romance died as it had lived- while I was listening to side A of Weezer's Teal album. Specifically, while listening to their cover of "Take On Me," but ironically not during their cover of "Happy Together."

2024.05.14 02:03 Nuke_Lion7509 New Knocked Loose Vinyl Easter Egg
Just got home from work and received the new album from Knocked Loose (You Won't Go Before You're Supposed To) on vinyl that I pre-ordered. I got the clear with mint splatter and while looking at it, I noticed that if it was at the right angle, the light would reveal a lightly engraved message (HAVE YOU FOUND YOUR GRAVE?). There's another message on the other side but I couldn't get it to upload, it read (I AM HAUNTED).

2024.05.14 01:09 firsthomeFL advice for impact window + door replacement?
my basic little one story cinderblock house in florida is ~25 years old, with single pane vinyl windows. for humidity, noise, and energy cost reasons, i would love to change them out. it would be nice if they would add to resale value, but i dont know if that's really a thing i can expect any return on?
the list:
- seven large windows
- two smaller / side windows for a bay-window style outcrop in the kitchen
- two sets of very basic french doors that i can see daylight around even with added weatherstripping
- a front door that is a little worn and i don't love - but is tolerable
i got a quote three years ago and it was like $30k for hurricane impact replacements for the nine windows ($1500 each, installed) and two french doors ($5k each, installed). iirc they also said a front door would be $5k. i cant pay that much right now.
any recommendations or advice - be it approach, vendors, or things to keep in mind? renovation windows vs new construction? it sounds like big box stores are an option but have their own issues, but also, specialty companies are a price tier i cant entertain.
my county requires impact windows and doors, and permits for both, but as the homeowner i can also pull them myself if i am doing the work. i don't mind doing them slowly and one or two at a time, if that's a reasonable approach for someone without a GC in the family - but i will hire someone to help with what i should.
i would appreciate any advice folks have... even if its what
not to do - i know those lessons are expensive, too.

2024.05.14 00:32 yoloswaginggg First time cleaning siding
I have a dewalt 3300 psi pressure washer with the surface cleaning disk with concrete solution that I’ve been using to pay off loans while I’m in college. I’ve been doing this around a year so far and it’s going great.
Recently I’ve been asked if I could clean this lady’s vinyl siding. I said I’d have to research how to do it the best way and I’ll get back to her. What equipment and what other knowledge/information do I need before I start this?
Thank you very much!

2024.05.14 00:14 Comprehensive-Rip695 Favorite vinyl side?
Weird question maybe but I am talking about your favorite song runs/sequences that you consider to be better on vinyl format (or straight up exclusive to it.)
For example I really like "Side E (Disc 3, Side A)" on The Fragile, as I think the flow of 10 Miles High> Please> Starfuckers, Inc.> Complication> The New Flesh. is awesome, and I love all of those songs so sometimes I feel like listening to only that particular side. Do you guys have any examples or favorites of this?

2024.05.13 23:15 Foreign_Yogurt3832 Restoring Q2000 (2014) UK model and need to find a valve and regulator
Hi all, I found a reasonably good condition Q2000 on the side of the road that I’m restoring. I’ve given it an initial clean to get rid of most of the grease build up. I’ve ordered a new ignition kit, some Clevis and cotter pins for the hinges. Im going to give the burner a good clean but seems they’re easy to find if I need to replace… all that remains is a valve and regulator… would anyone know where to get this in the UK? I’ve put a screenshot of the valve from the manual I found online… I’ve also found car vinyl cleaner works really well to restore the plastic shelves! submitted by Foreign_Yogurt3832 to webergrills [link] [comments]
2024.05.13 22:09 Broad-Juggernaut3628 Lawn and Landscape Reclamation Project - 1 year in
I moved into the girlfriend's house over a year ago and the previous owner made some interesting choices regarding landscaping. The vinyl siding had a lot of algae/mold, the lawn was mainly pachysandra, and more bushes than one should have.
I started out by removing all of the bushes and brush along the right side of the driveway. I took it all up by hand with a shovel and a mattock. One of the bushes had a very large root ball probably weighing 400lbs that the girlfriend and I had to deadlift out of the whole by hand. A wooden shed storing sticks and stones was removed attached to the garage. This took me a weekend to remove and never felt better.
The front porch needed a complete rebuild as the side walk leading up to the house was pitched towards the steps and a pool of water (and ice) would gather. The hardscaping company cleared out the original porch, walkway, and bushes against the house and put simple boxwoods, and a few other new plants in.
Pachysandra around the front trees was dug up by with a shovel and hand. I went down about 4-6 inches to make sure I got the roots and it all. Luckily the local town picked up most of the 20+ bags that I stored them in but I did have to take a few to the compost site as they were over 40 lbs. My forearms started looking like Popeyes after ripping this shit up.
Lastly, the driveway was widened and I had to bring in top soil to level some of the areas off.
I tried to do as much as I can within reason and have fun doing it. It's a lot of work, a slow process, but very rewarding. There are a few more things that I still need to do (take down the two front trees and roots and take down the side 3 trees and roots) but what a big time difference from the original home to now.
I don't really care about the lawn today other than filling in some of the spots with grass until I get the trees and roots removed. Just thought I'd share!

2024.05.13 20:13 OkAlbatross9267 Siding questions.
We have a 2 story house with some weird additions from the previous owners. I’m looking into getting new siding after that hail damage claim we made from insurance. The one we were looking at is called certaplank from certainteed. It’s vinyl siding but they are allot taller than standard siding. Meaning each piece is one whole piece instead of 2. I know that certainteed has a visualizer but it won’t show up properly. submitted by OkAlbatross9267 to Remodel [link] [comments]

I have a customer who has a beautiful Azek deck and wants it cleaned. Is it safe to Softwash it with SH? I assume I would just use the same mix I use on Vinyl siding, but just want to double check because I've done Azek/Trex before.

2024.05.13 19:42 iamzvonko Ideas for covering window opening on outside
My son & I are remodeling his bathroom. It's an old house that only had a tub, so there's a window. Since we're installing a tub/shower surround, we need to take out the window and cover the hole up. Inside is not a problem, but I need some help with how to cover up the outside. Adding vinyl siding is not feasible at this time. My first idea was to build out the new framing in the window hole to be flush with the vinyl siding trim. Then attach T1-11 siding and caulk around the edges. Hit me with your best ideas. Thanks submitted by iamzvonko to DIY [link] [comments]
