2024.05.14 05:11 Owl4L Healing
Man. Healing is so visceral, it’s actually so scary. It’s truly ironic that some of my most frightening moments in life have come from… healing trauma, genuine nerve racking fear, feeling like I could die or i’m going to go mentally insane and need to be hospitalised, as if the actions i’m taking to reject the world that was created for me will plunge me into the depths of madness and a despair so deep that I would drown in it
It’s so fucked up but kinda funny? I just laugh sometimes, it’s so fucked up in a funny way that I have to have huge massive panic attacks like i’m going to go absolutely batshit insane and they’re being triggered by… putting myself out there? Taking care of myself? Standing up for myself? It’s so crazy. Even just making this post has taken me a lot of courage & confidence to be honest.
So if anyone else is going through it right now or on that journey themselves, you’re not alone, I and i’m sure many others are right there alongside with you.
Man it’s like the willy wonka tunnel of terror but wonka never lets me off but I become so desensitised to it (IN A GOOD WAY!) that i’m just like “eh, whatever, cool tunnel of terror dude.”

2024.05.14 04:54 starsgoblind The airport is an embarrassing mess
I will preface this by saying that I really have no idea what is going on at SeaTac, but as someone who LIVES HERE and just flew in, what in the Willy Wonka is going on? We had to disembark the plane on the tarmac, board a BUS, and ride for a half hour, only to walk a concrete maze back to the subway so we could get to the terminal. Once there, there was no clear signage to the light rail nor the Uber, and we wandered like idiots for half an hour until an airport contract employee showed us the very convoluted route to the garage, which then required an elevator to get to the Uber area. An Uber that cost nearly $80 to get to the city. I can only imagine what people think arriving here who aren’t used to this shit show. Edit: people - seriously, this airport is in complete shambles right now. You need to see it to believe it. Before you come at me, well, you need to see it for yourself.

2024.05.14 04:20 Rata-tatatouile Arranging Music For My School Orchestra
I apologize if the title seems vague, or if this post seems a little bare bones, but I just want to ask if there are any legal implications to arranging music, say from a film, to be played at say, a school concert. In particular, I want to arrange a large set of Willy Wonka songs to make a large arranged piece for a String Orchestra. I am wondering these few things:
- Is it legal for me to make it in the first place? I believe that the answer here is yes, I just want to cover all my bases here.
- Is it legal for me to have a student orchestra play this piece at a school concert / summer camp concert?
- If I need permission to do any of these two things, how do I go about getting this permission?

2024.05.14 00:34 MistySpectre I put corn syrup and glitter on my friends’ car when they betrayed me
Hi Charlotte I am a HUGE fan and wanted to share this petty story as a treat for our petty potato queen.✨✨ Sorry in advance for how long this is. I (19 F) am now in college but this story happened my senior year of high school when I was 18. My two closest friends at my school were twin sisters. Let’s call them Katherine and Olivia (both fake names). I had met Olivia at the beginning of my freshman year of high school when her sister Katherine introduced us. Olivia and I were inseparable and we did everything together. I was friends with Katherine too but not as close as I was with Olivia until our junior year of high school. There were some red flags in my friendship with these two that I see now looking back but was too naive to realize beforehand. For example, I went all out with gifts for them during holidays while they never got me anything in return. I would always show up for Katherine’s swim meets that she and Olivia invited me to come watch so that I could cheer on and support her. They never showed up for any of my horse shows that I would invite them to watch and always claimed to be busy (which I understand life can be busy). I know that may sound petty, but what I’m trying to say is that the effort I put into our friendship was never reciprocated. They would never show up for me or support me the way I did for them. They would also emotionally manipulate me but I won’t get into it because we’d be here all day. Anyway, at the end of spring break our senior year I get a long text message from Olivia who said she was ending her friendship with me. I won’t get into what the message contained but she essentially blamed me for a lot of issues she was having, was gaslighting me, and also lied to me by saying I was never there for her (which is crazy because that’s all I tried to do but she would always push me away). I get it, sharing emotions and being vulnerable can be scary but I always tried my best to support her and lift her up through difficult times. Katherine didn’t send a message but she followed her sister and stopped talking to me. I was absolutely heartbroken because I thought these girls were two of my best friends but then they throw me under the bus and treat me like I’m less than nothing. What hurt even worse is that I had previously opened up to them about some emotional trauma from being betrayed and abandoned by one of my closest friends in elementary school, and they told me that they would always be there for me no matter what. This caused me to fall into a deep hole of depression and I suffered from a lot of emotional trauma that I’m still learning to heal from today. I won’t get into it but I reached a point where I didn’t even want to be alive anymore (but don’t worry I got help and I’m happy to say I’m doing so much better today :) Eventually my sadness turned to anger for what they did to me and I had all of this rage that I had bottled up inside. However, these two didn’t know that I am EXTREMELY PETTY. I decided to get revenge for what they did to me by unleashing the ultimate petty lol. I thought through ideas until I eventually decided on the perfect plan. So I know where they live and I also know they keep their car outside of their garage. I snuck out of my house at 2:00 in the morning and put a crap ton of corn syrup and glitter as well as chocolate chips and rainbow sprinkles all over their car (I hope they had fun getting that off lmaooo). That stuff went absolutely everywhere too. I had previously done research to not damage their car as my goal was not to hurt anyone or damage any property but only be really annoying. I then snuck back home and went to bed. Later that morning my mom received a text message from their mom asking to meet up and talk. Now their parents are actually really nice people though. My mom agreed and met up with them at a coffee shop. My mom later told me about it. Her parents deadass asked my mom if I was the one who Willy Wonka’d their car lmao since they weren’t sure who else from our school knew their address besides me. Now my mom already knows how much those twins hurt and was my rock after they betrayed me. She denied that it was me and told their parents that I have grown stronger from their daughters’ kindness and also cruelty (which she said which they cringed at hahahahaha). I felt such a petty sense of satisfaction after this and I was then able to focus on my mental health after getting revenge. TLDR: Betray and hurt me after years of friendship? I will unleash a CandyLand STORM onto your vehicle. Also, if you twins are reading this (and you know who you are); yes it was me lmaooo I hope you had fun washing all of that off your car after. Fuck you both😂😂

2024.05.13 06:35 LucyAriaRose AITA for dressing up in a "questionable" group costume per my friends request
I am NOT the Original Poster. That is u/ThrowRA_1037. He posted in
AmItheAsshole Mood Spoiler: happy-ish ending? Original Post: May 4, 2024 So my best friend for about 7 years, we'll call him Derek, is a little person. He has 3 brothers who are all little people and they are all so comfortable with their lives and love making jokes about their height. I have somewhat of a dark sense of humor but was uncomfortable joining them in the jokes until I really got to know them and they assured me it was ok.
Anyways there was a costume party for our mutual friends birthday where everyone was supposed to be a movie character. Derek and his brothers came to me and asked me if I would be comfortable dressing up as Willy Wonka while they all dressed up as Oompa Loompas. I said sure and we went to the party. We got a few looks, but nobody said anything at the party.
Well this morning I woke up to a bunch of texts calling me a horrible person for doing that and insinuating I made the suggestion for the group costume. No matter what I say in my defense gets blasted back at me as doubling down on my ignorance. Usually in these cases I ignore it because I try not to let other peoples perceptions of me bother me, but with the amount of people messaging me I'm just kinda overwhelmed. Am I the Asshole?
Relevant Comments: Commenter: NTA. I'm assuming you were dressed up like the characters from the 1971 movie? If so, I don't see the problem. It was your friend's idea and he was obviously comfortable with it.
Were all the complaints based on that incorrect assumption that it was your idea, or do some of these people think that the costume itself is offensive?
OOP: Most of them are accusing me of it being my idea and that I pressured them into it. Only 2 or 3 of the others are saying that in general, the costume is offensive
On how bad the "dark jokes" are: Nothing like that, I'll admit the jokes I make with Derek and his brothers are the darkest jokes I make, but otherwise, it's mostly picking humor out of my personal tragedies. My family likes it because it helps with the grief. I guess it's not all that dark, but I've been told it's dark humor before
OOP is voted NTA Update Post: May 6, 2024 (2 days later) First I would like to make some clarifications since I didn't mention them in the original post. I am a 22M and Derek is 21 and is the 2nd youngest of his brothers. We were specifically dressed from the 1971 movie with Gene Wilder and Derek and his brothers were the only little people at the party. I had around 30 texts complaining about the costume all of them people I barely know or had only met at the party which had about 150 to 200 people. Out of all those only 3 were just saying Willy Wonka in general is offensive and the rest were accusing me of forcing the idea and wouldn't believe me when I told them it wasn't my idea. Anyways, onto the update.
A couple minutes after I posted the story I got a call from Derek. He said he had recieved some texts from people from the party regarding the costume, telling him they were messaging me to get me to apologize to him for my ignorance to which he informed them it was his idea. He was then told what happened.
Apparently, his younger brother, we'll call him Ethan, wasn't wanting to be an Oompa Loompa for the party but got roped into the idea by the others before coming to me and had made a passing comment about it during the party. His comment was either taken as all 4 of them were unhappy with the costume or word spread and got twisted into it being my idea. Basically, it was a huge misunderstanding.
Ethan called me a few minutes after I got off the phone with Derek and apologized for getting me in that situation. He told me he had bought a separate costume he was wanting to wear for the party only to be told Derek had already bought 4 Oompa Loompa costumes and couldn't return them. So he figured he'd save the separate costume for Halloween. He said someone came up and asked him about the costumes and he answered honestly, but didn't think his comment would cause anything especially since the end of his comment reiterated he was having a good time.
Derek, Ethan and his brothers have all come to my defense, and while nobody who was sending me demeaning texts has apologized. They have officially stopped the texts.
Anyways, thanks for the support. As I said in the original post I try to ignore people's negative opinions of me, but 30 people was alot and I was just so overwhelmed that I thought maybe I did do something wrong. Glad to know the whole situation was just a mix up.
Relevant Comment: Commenter: Why is dressing as Willy Wonka in general offensive?
OOP: They said the movies and book are offensive to little people, and by dressing as him, I was showing support for it

2024.05.13 06:01 CMinorOp22 My game keeps crashing…so I have to be quick! I already have this area in my valley, so I’m going for the easy Johnny Depp/Willy Wonka reference. Lost count how many times my game crashed trying to take a pic.
2024.05.13 04:15 JupiterSoles Were these released with the other Willy Wonka collabs?
Loved the corduroy upper and the color. The little details are awesome. In my opinion, these are better than the other 4 pairs that dropped. Were these limited? submitted by JupiterSoles to Converse [link] [comments]
2024.05.13 03:02 BatofZion What if Willy Wonka had a water factory?
And the only way to give away the water was to win the factory by being the last one standing? Think about that while you sip.

2024.05.13 02:57 PhilosopherFar4375 Why does chicken noodle broth help with feeling sick ?
Title is everything, for context I never get sick. I’m a nail biter so usually my body is used to pathogens, yet I’m under the weather and feel high and woozy. My nonna makes me chicken noodle soup, I drink the broth, not expecting anything to work, as it’s a small virus or whatever and my body needs to do it’s thing. By jove i feel like the grandpa from willy wonka dancing. I’m not healed but I’m at least cognizant. Any idea why the broth works? is it the heat, the proteins, the lipids, all those words?

So my brother just introduced me to this candy. I told him it looks like something out of Willy Wonka. They are very good! submitted by BeachyMagic to candy [link] [comments]
2024.05.12 22:23 Oriello5784 Hybrid Little Nemo The Little Prince Character
I created this hybrid character out of the 2 mentioned in the title. It was a while until they got the flowing scarf in the back. I was elated when they did, as I will soon be crafting Hanzo, from Samurai Showdown. I'm hoping they get a Nights Into Dreams type hat. Which would basically be the current Jester hat without the bells and replaced with relatively thick stripes. Also a better hat for a Geno ( from super Mario RPG) Only time will tell. For now I can do Willy Wonka and the white Rabbit. Peter-Pan shouldn't be too hard either. submitted by Oriello5784 to HeroForgeMinis [link] [comments]
