I'm about 164cm / 5'4, and my measurements are 40 - 30 - 40. I've seen some people say to size down. I wear M in both the cotton rib and soft lounge tanks from Skims and they're snug enough around my boobs but fit my waist nicely, but the Aritzia does have less spandex so I'm not sure.

Hey all. Filling in at a store today and there are some 'unsigned encounters' that cropped up in QV, I think from something that happened yesterday or Fri? 🤷🏼 Anywho, I've tried searching the sub here to figure out how to login to epic and can't for the life of me figure it out. I can pull Epic up but that's as far as I get. Any ideas? Do I have to get a specific login from the DL or something? The video trainings were not terribly helpful either 🙄

The hunt was on

Strength

• Predators are capable of tearing a man in half.
  
• Predator rips a 12 gauged double barreled shotgun from a gator hunters hand snapping his index finger in two despite being strong and having a firm grip on the shotgun.
  
• (Vietnam Flashback) Predator kills 10 men in Vietnam. Breaking ribs, tearing out spines, ripping heads off, skinning men, all while they were alive.
  
• Threw a man so hard against a wall it shook the house violently making glass fragments fall from the windows.
  
• Folded a man in half breaking his back Jason Voorhees style.
  
• Easily lifted a man weighing 275 pounds off his feet and gutted him alive while he was in midair.
  
• Fights a 14-foot American alligator with just his hands and after a brief fight, snapped its neck killing it.
  
• Kills a man with a single punch. He punched the man so hard, he was sent flying with his face totally pulverized.
  
• Needed restraints strong enough to contain a rhino for the Predator captive.
  
• (Vietnam Flashback) Predator rips out a mans spine with his bare hands very stealth like while only being 30 yards away from the others.
  
• The Predator makes his escape from captivity and kicks a soldier in the knee shattering it with the second strike from its foot finishing him off crushing his throat.
  
• Pushes a dumpster weighing couple hundred pounds so hard it collapsed a ring toss structure at a county fair.
  
• Caught a Stargazer soldier by his throat, casually broke his hand, and then snapped his neck.
  
• Predator slam dunks his fist on Andersons head lowering the helmet as well as the head by a couple of inches breaking his neck killing him.
  
• Ezquerra, despite his size, skill, and experience, wasnt able to faze the Predator with a blow to the gut and was oneshotted by the Predator who kneed him in the face so hard his brains were spilling out.
  
• Despite being heavily wounded at this point, the Predator was still able to casually rip off a car door and drag the poor policeman out.
  

Durability

• Weapon was not specified, but the Predators Bio-mask was able to tank a ballistic round although it did create a dent.
  
• Is shot in the chest with a rifle but the bullet was stopped short and is remarked to have epic bone density.
  
• Is hit with a dart made to knock out a whale but one wasnt enough and needed multiple darts to knock the Predator out.
  
• (Vietnam Flashback) Predator after surviving 2 claymores as well as having a brief firefight sustaining more injuries, tanks a 3rd claymore point blank but had to retreat and depart in its ship. Still alive however.
  
• (Vietnam Flashback) Predators armor deflects 9mm round but also 5.56mm (.223 cal.) rounds used for the M16 during the Vietnam war.
  
  • Plasma caster blows a soldier apart.
• Predator mask tanks 2-3 shots fired from a Tar-21 rifle as well as point blank .45 pistol ammo and while suffered dents was not destroyed save for the one eye piece shattering.
  
• Predator tanks a 12 guage blast point blank to the chest unfazed as its chest armor soaked up most of the damage.
  
• Despite already being heavily wounded, the Predator is able to tank multiple 9mm rounds to the chest and still having the stregth to kill Hyde although he would be on deaths door a few minutes after this and had to self destruct
  

Experience/Skill

• (Vietnam Flashback) Kills in a Vietnam active warzone so spectacularly what survivors remain were never the same.
  
• Before being incapacitated/captured by Reaver squadron, the Predator killed 2 gator hunters, 12 biker gang members, a 14 foot American Alligator, 10 Swat officers, a meth gangmember, and 4 of the 8 man Reaver squad.
  
  • By the end, the Predator also killed 3 soldiers including Pappy, a couple with a dog, a Stargazer Squad consisting of 10 members, couple policemen, and the rest of the Reaver squad.

Weapons/Gadgets

Smart Disc

• Slices a snipers head in half with no change in its trajectory
  
• Can cut a gun in two.
  
• Bypasses body armor easily killing a Swat officer by gashing his chest open blood and entrails spilling out.
  
• (Vietnam Flashback) Cuts a mans arm off and comes back cutting off his head.
  

Plasma Caster

• Vaporizes a Swat officers leg sending him flying through the air.
  
• Takes a mans arms with a shot.
  
• Knocks a man three feet back
  
• Blows a hole in a Swat officer wearing body armor. Dead before he hit the ground.
  
• Obliterates a side of a building. Shatters bricks, splinters wood, etc.
  
• (Vietnam Flasback) Blast a man apart.
  
• Is stated to melt steel.
  
• Can shoot without the mask. Has to manually aim though.
  

Wrist Blades

• Predator hits a Swat officer wearing body armor with his wrist blades sending him flying blood gushing everywhere.
  
• Cuts a Swat officer in half with his wrist blades with such great force his head imploded and his back exploded with blood, meat, and bone.
  
• (Vietnam Flashback) Yet another instance of cutting a man in half with wrist blades.
  

Combistick

• Stabs Hills in the abdomen easily piercing armor and flesh.
  
• The combistick can be cloaked.
  

Bio-mask

• Smoke grenades are useless on a Predator.
  
• After aquiring a new bio-mask, a quick scan with his mask revealed a tracker placed in his shoulder which he removed and will use as a trap for incoming Stargazer forces.
  
• Stargazer soldiers were glad for the hot rain as it would help hide their heat signature. The Predator knowing this, switch to his ultraviolet vision mode to see them more clearly.
  
  • Predators cloak works in the rain.
• The Predators mask is stated to see a much broader spectrum than human technology allows.
  

Energy Flechette

• (Vietnam Flashback) Blast a smoking hole in a soldier killing him.

Predator Ship

• Ships are still able to cloak themsleves and bypass defenses undetected in modern times even with the best technology on hand.

Self-Destruct device

• Despite Tomlin stabbing the Predators gauntlet, the device still blew up but the blast radius and damage was mitigated.

Miscellaneous

• Standard practice for Yautja Hunters to inoculate/immunize themselves against any possible microbial infections.
  
• Even without the cloak, the Yautja's natural coloring helps it blend in with its surroundings that have serviced the Yautja for thousands of years
  
• The Yautja are not above eating human flesh but they do not like the taste of human meat. No surprise there.
  
• Has a portable vial that could melt the firearms of its prey enough so as to patch up wounds much like City Hunter in Predator 2.
  
• Their gear is coded to the individual hunter with the key being in their gauntlet. Beware to any that take the individual hunters weapons however. If the Hunter gets back to its ship, any lost weapons/gadgets can be turned off or set to explode big enough to destory a military complex as alluded to here as well as shown in the Predator Comic Big Game.
  
• On page 32 chapter 3, the Predator makes a statement that confirms the existence of Yautja farmers that grow crops.
  

Quality Of Prey

The Reavers

• Trained by Pappy. Vietnam vet and only survivor of a past encounter with the Yautja in the jungles of Vietnam. A hand picked team of ex-special forces working with Stargazer considered one of the best in the world
  
• Infiltrated a drug site and killed 30 heavily armed men as well as taking the site in under 5 mins stating it was "no contest"
  
• Best trained in the world, been to several countries, battle tested and proven
  
• Further confirmation that the Reavers were the best of the best. They have survived battles that most soldiers would die from without suffering a single casualty, owned the best gear money can buy, trained by variety of intrusctors in multiple disciplines, etc. And even with all this, Pappy was still unsure if it would be enough
  

The Squad

• Tomlin. Squad leader
  
• During the brutal final fight Tomlin gets his abdomen sliced by the Predators wrist blades while also getting tossed in the air. Incapacitated for the time being but alive.
  
• Despite his guts hanging out among other injuries, by sheer force of will he stands himself up with the Predators combistick and makes his way towards the down Predator.
  
• Miraculously, he was able to hobble over to where the Predator was by sheer determination and stabbed the Predators guantlet seemingly stopping the countdown. Tomlin would pass out and he and Hills would be rescued and it is unknown if they will both ultimately survive.
  
• Devon Hill Second In Command
  
• Aformer Navy Seal capable of running fifteen miles in full gear without breaking a sweat.
  
• During the final brutal fight Hills manages to evade Plasma Caster fire though he suffers severe eye injury in the process. Just pisses him off as he keeps fighting.
  
• Eventually incapacitated by the Predators shuriken blade. He survives this however but it is unknown if he did ultimately survive this wound or not at the end of the novel.
  
• Elmore Strand Explosives Expert
  
• Is very cool headed in tough situations. Skilled in hand to hand combat and a good marksman winning a bunch of awards for marksmanship and quick draw maneuvers
  
• The Predator kills him with one move. A knee into the face.
  
• Jermaine Hyde. Specialist.
  
• Great at stealth and is well known to go ahead of the group and clears the area by himself and lives for the thrill of the kill.
  
• Takes a beating from the wounded Predator but shows off hes a tough sonofabitch and hard to kill.
  
• Eventually dies by getting cut nearly in two by the Predators wrist blades but ultimately took the bastard with him.
  
• Kyle Pulver the "Joker" of the group.
  
• At the final battle, he is able to get a couple flashbangs off but Predator pays him in kind throwing a disc at his wrist cutting it off along with the prepped flashbang in it. Predator brutally and slowly crushes his skull into the dirt as everyone is dazzed from the flashbang.
  
• Dmitri Orologas. Communications specialist.
  
• Can rebuild a radio in no time and speaks too many languages to count also a good cook and decent medic.
  
• Critically injured by a smart disc taking off his arm and slashing open his chest. He would survive but die later in the story.
  
• Edward King. The teams surgeon.
  
• Gets obliterated by the Predators plasma caster
  
• Steve Burke. The teams artillery man as well as the teams security lead.
  
• Killed by the Predators wrist blades cutting off his arm.
  

For November, our workshop topic is 'Natural Resources in a Made-Up World,' and we'll be learning how to build our world's natural resources such as water, trees, animal life, vegetation, climate, etc., and ways to research and strengthen our story worlds. We'll look at both craft and nonfiction resources to understand how the natural order of our worlds determines our stories economies and, potentially, the direction of our plot.
As speculative fiction authors, we often create worlds, lands, and places that are far different than the worlds we live in or are slightly altered from the world we know. And that's a hard thing to do. More often, we find ourselves unsure of how to connect all the different aspects of the natural world or are unsure of how they even work. For some stories, it works to glaze over those details, but when we start writing in genres like second-world fantasy, science fiction, hopepunk, or even stories about people who work directly with the natural world, our readers are gonna expect we have our world and its resources in order. But how exactly do we do that? And what even are natural resources to begin with?
We'll try and answer those questions and learn a bit about how to build better worlds along the way.

Natural resource, any biological, mineral, or aesthetic asset afforded by nature without human intervention that can be used for some form of benefit, whether material (economic) or immaterial. What is considered a “resource” (or, for that matter, “natural”) has varied over time and from one society to another. Examples of assets that can be considered natural resources include forests, surface water and groundwater, and the fertile lands or the soil and minerals within them (rather than the crops that grow on them), as well as energy resources (such as petroleum, natural gas, and heated water [that is, geothermal energy]) contained within layers of rock. - Britannica Definition

Workshop Exercise & Discussion

For our natural resources in a made-up world workshop, we'll focus on learning and discussing fantasy/scifi natural resources, real natural resources, and tools on how we can brainstorm and craft natural resources for our speculative fiction stories.
Workshop Exercise: Writers can do this exercise before the workshop, but we will also take a 20-30 minute break at 7 to do this exercise for any writer who didn't complete it during the week. Our exercise this month is to write a scene or flash story (less than 1,500 words) of a character(s) working to restore a depleted or polluted natural resource in a speculative fiction world, aiming to show the connection of one natural resource to others and how it impacts the lives of the characters and the overall world. Try to interweave world building, characterization, and narration to craft a full experience for a reader.
Using the techniques we learn from the resources, this exercise is meant to get us actively thinking about the resources of our world and how to make more believable stories about imaginary things. We'll share our workshop exercise responses during the last half of the workshop. These workshop-sharing moments are not critiques but a place where we can experiment and get direct feedback on how our techniques played out on the page.

It had been a long day for the monsters. So much mayhem to make. They ran about in the midst of the townsfolk now, thinly disguised, joining in every angry mob and making as much trouble as they possibly could, anywhere they could. Stealing tools, ruining crops, scaring the animals, dropping poo and slime into the contestants’ dishes… It was all so delightful, they hoped it would never end. And just when they thought that Luau Day could get no better, there was u/XanCanStand to murder. Sigh. Life in the Valley was good. Almost too good.

This is a special morning in the Valley. It's time for the annual Pelican Town Luau! All the action was on the beach as most of the townsfolk bustled around setting up tables and chairs and bringing their contributions to the community potluck soup. The Luau was one of the most anticipated events of the summer. The Governor always made a special appearance to taste the local food. Every farmer was eager to contribute their best crop to the soup to make sure it was of the highest quality.   Marnie stood on a stepladder in the center of the activity, leaning over to stir the giant potluck soup pot. She chatted with each villager as they added their ingredients. For the last hour or so she’d been complaining about u/midnightdragon not showing up to help as expected.   “Um… u/midnightdragon won’t be making it to Luau,” said Mayor Lewis awkwardly. “She found out she had to… uh… leave town. It was kind of… um, sudden, I guess.” He at least had the decency to look abashed.   Marnie scowled. “Lewis! Did your overzealous monster hunters run her out of town too?! I mean, REALLY! When is this going to end?” She turned back to the large pot, which was becoming increasingly harder to stir. “And what’s going on with this soup? I didn’t think there were that many ingredients in it yet?”   Clint, Kent and Lewis hurried to Marnie’s aid. They wrestled with her long-handled spoon to bring the obstruction to the surface. Marnie moaned with disgust and sorrow when the bloated body of u/Dangerhaz broke the surface. “Oh no! Poor u/Dangerhaz! And my poor soup! We can’t serve this to the Governor now. He’ll be here in a few hours! What in the world are we going to do?”   Jodi came over and peered skeptically into the pot. “Well, there’s nothing else for it. We’ll just have to have a cook-off. Everyone can prepare their favorite dish and we’ll see which one the Governor likes best.”

Stardew Valley players know that farming and mining aren’t the only aspects of this great game. Cooking and crafting are also a large part of the Stardew Experience. Your challenge is to create an original dish using at least two and no more than three ingredients. The dish that most impresses/amuses the hosts Governor at the luau will win vote immunity for next phase only. The winner will be announced publicly and will be removed from the voting form for that phase only. The prize is not transferable. The immunity applies only to the winner.

Two bonus ingredient choices are also included in your cupboard: sugar and/or wheat flour.   Recipes in Stardew Valley are often quite simple. For example, combining just Rainbow Trout and Green Algae makes Trout Soup, even though in the real world some other ingredients would of course be necessary. This same concept applies to your dishes. If you want to make a Cherry Pie, you could do that with the three ingredients of Cherries, Sugar, and Flour. Your creation does not need to be something that in the real world would only require exactly three ingredients and nothing else. Your creation may also be hot or cold. Something like ice cream or salad would be a cold dish, while a pie or soup would be a hot dish.   There will be a space on the submission form to select your ingredients as well as a space to state the name of the dish they combine to make. There will also be a comments field where you can describe anything about your dish or ingredients that you feel is relevant.
 

Event Rules:

1. You may choose up to three of the ingredients in the image/grid linked above. Sugar and/or wheat flour are also eligible to be used and will count toward your three ingredient slots.  
2. You may use multiples of any ingredient. Each one will count toward your three ingredient slots. Example: [Egg + Egg + Milk = Three Ingredients] [2 Eggs + Milk + Mushroom = Four Ingredients]  
3. You may not discuss the event anywhere, at all, including your Discord confessional channel. [See Rule 6]  
4. You may submit as many dishes as you like. Only the last one will count.  
5. Dishes will be judged by the hosts and shadows on creativity, originality, cleverness and humor. The one that most impresses and/or amuses us will be chosen as the winner.  
6. Thanks to u/spludgiexx and her Amazing Technicolor Spreadsheets, the judges will not be able to see the names of the dish creators until after the winner is chosen. We ask that you refrain from mentioning them in your confessionals so as not to let us know which dish is yours.  
7. This event is completely optional. That being said, you can’t win if you don’t play!  
8. Spectators and dead players may submit dishes for their own (and the hosts’) amusement, though only living players are eligible to win. There will be a separate form for non-living-players to submit.

Another Summer Tuesday in the Valley, but one like no other that Pelican Town has seen. On this Most Unusual Tuesday, farmers had neglected their crops and merchants had shuttered their stores. Even Jodi’s weekly exercise class had been canceled to allow everyone an opportunity to be heard in the Great Matter of whether one, both or neither u/ZerotheStoryteller and u/KB_Black were secretly helping the monsters.   Each had given their case, stating their contributions to the Valley and their importance to Pelican Town. Witnesses spoke for and against each of them. Supporters of each sought to poke holes in every argument the opposing camp brought to the table. Points were made. Arguments were started. Drinks were sipped.   In the end, the whole thing was settled most civilly. The vast majority of the townsfolk decided that u/ZerotheStoryteller must be the one to leave Pelican Town. Emily unfastened Zero from the wooden lawn chair and escorted them to their home to allow them to pack their belongings. Returning to the square with a full set of matching luggage bursting with colorful outfits, Zero thanked the assembled well-wishers and provided a few final thoughts before meekly allowing Alex, Shane, Haley and Abigail to escort them to the edge of the forest.   On the way back from this somber task, Alex noticed a set of farm tools placed carefully against a tree. There was a note attached. He read it and gasped. “Oh no! u/SlytherinBuckeye has left town!” The foursome hastened back to the square to report this troubling development to the Mayor. They made it no further than Marnie’s house before all thoughts of u/SlytherinBuckeye’s mysterious departure fled their minds.   The door of Marnie’s barn hung wide open, pushed that way by a cascade of eggs of all shapes, sizes, colors and star values. The barn must have been full to bursting with them, until it literally did burst. Eggs spilled out of not just the door, but all the windows, the sides of the barn bulging from those that were still inside.   It was not the eggs themselves or the battered barn that the unlucky young folks would remember in their weakest moments until they were old and gray. It was the hand. The single, pale white hand that stuck out from the middle of the egg wave in the doorway, about two feet off of the ground. It weakly waved for help, then twitched just once before the fingers slowly curled into the palm and the hand moved no more. It took hours of diligently shifting the eggs (with omelets for everyone!) before the crushed body of u/oomps62 could even be recovered.

The early days of any season are busy in Stardew Valley! So much to do. Clearing the debris off the farm, hoeing the plots, running into town for seeds, planting, watering. Do I need more ore? How did I get all the way to Robin's house without realizing I'm out of wood?! What is taking Clint so long with that pickaxe upgrade? Why does Linus not like that fish I gave him - what, is he suddenly vegan on this playthrough?! And how in all that is holy is it WEDNESDAY again already?! Pierre needs to hire some damn help - and for that matter, so does the farmer!   So many of us had a crazy day today. Farmers and townsfolk running all over Pelican Town, doing goodness only knows what. Some bustled about their business without stopping to chat much. Others chatted freely about who they felt might be up to no good. Several seasoned monster hunters emerged from the mines in various states of dishevelment. As dusk fell, a small group banded together and selected one member whose crops were not doing so well. Mayor Lewis stepped up to escort them away. "u/bigjoe6172. Your crops have died. You must leave the Valley."   "My crops are perfectly fine," the offended townsperson shot back. "Where am I going to go?" The townspeople began to all chatter at once again, each offering some wildly different alternate housing suggestions as the mob none-too-gently walked the banished u/bigjoe6172 to the outskirts of Cindersnap Forest, the torchlight flickering ominously off of the trees and bushes. Hours later, long after the partiers and adventurers still out and about at 2 AM had passed out, all but one of their bodies were collected and escorted back to their farms, homes or shops. Only u/greensilence2 remained, laying randomly in the town square, as still as the stone that filled her pack.

I’ve always had pretty good skin, normal to slightly oily with very minimal breakouts. At the end of last year I started looking to up my skincare game - I had some of the basics but I did a lot of research (a lot of it on this sub) and rejigged and added some products/steps to my routine, while also focusing on doing it regularly.
I made sure I only added/changed one product at a time and atm my routine looks like this.
AM:
Wash face with water; Timeless vit c serum; Cerave Moisturiser; Hamilton everyday face Sunscreen;
PM:
QV bath Oil cleanser (if wore makeup/sunscreen); Simple foam cleanser; Watermelon glow toner (every second day); Neutrogena hydro boost nourishing cream;
My main focus was keeping my oiliness at bay, but I also have some redness across my cheeks and darkness from some old pimples, so when I came across vitamin c in my research it sounded like an ideal addition.
I’ve tried 3 different vitamin c serums - the Cerave skin renewing serum pilled horribly and didn’t absorb at all. The software one was better, but wasn’t really improving anything. And now I’m on the 20% timeless vit c and ferulic acid which everyone waxes lyrical about, but honestly I feel like my skin is worse than it’s ever been since I’ve introduced vitamin c (not just timeless, all of them). I have lots of redness, small whitehead pimples are cropping up almost everyday, I feel like my pores are so much larger and open than they’ve ever been and I’m oilier than I have been in years.
Am I doing something wrong or does vitamin c just not work for everyone? I tried reading around but couldn’t find much reliable information, other than it could be that I need to switch types again which I’m not sure is it. I’m open to any and all advice that people could offer me.
