2024.05.05 19:24 inthearmsofdyl Dream Highlights

I was able to write down the first thing I dreamt about. Then went back to sleep. I had a few other dream segments. They came out pretty lucid. I'm now starting to remember a dream I had of my old best friend.
In the dream, I was looking through drink and pudding mixes. I'm sure I forgot some of them. I immediately tried to memorize them when I woke up, forgetting some because it was such a vivid dream. There were several pudding mixes I was looking at. And because I could've added milk or water to them, which could create more recipes that my brain could comprehend. I took notice of a box of pumpkin with pistachio jello instant pudding, seeing a victorian 'm' on the front. Strawberry mix, which I put into some bread pudding. There was a pastel green mix too, that looked like lucky charms. I can't remember what the mix was from. Or if it even was a drink mix. The other thing was a cream tea. It was turning into cream tea, because I was adding milk to it. Audio from hannah montana was playing through my head, leading into my next dream. I'm pretty sure it was the next dream and not the first one. I was now in algebra class. I didn't take any notes from yesterday or days ago, seeing the font words on the smartboard. 'notes' and something else. The few papers I had had notes written down on it, but not the actual assignment. I missed the notes that I needed for today's class. I had no work done on my paper. I did this in real life sometimes. I contemplating asking my sweet teacher for the notes but I felt intimidated to do so. Even though he's not a harsh/strict or stern guy at all. I was digging through my bookbag, looking through stuff I took from home. A flying insect flew out from my bag, flying through the air. The girl across the room who was staring at me noticed it, very annoyed or uncomfortable by it's presence. More disgusted by me. There was something pink and important I saw in my bag that I can't remember. It connected to that other dream. I assume the strawberry mix, or maybe it was strawberry wafers. I looked down at myself and saw I was wearing black cargo pants. Probably had a babytee on. After this, I woke up in my living room. I was crying, thinking about how much I miss algebra class/school. So this must take place in the present/current age. It was dark in the room, nighttime. The app for youtube was on the tv. I saw a thumbnail with my partner on it, breaking me out of my tears and sadness. It felt like a light came over me.
Other thumbnails showed felix and peter pan from ouat; videos that I watched more than 10 years ago now. I scrolled through them, then clicked on netflix. I hate netflix and their hypersexual movies, neverending supernatural genres. I turned on a series that looked interesting. It was about a couple. Which I would never click on, since that's a giveaway something's gonna have sex in it, and it makes me uncomfortable or bored. I like nerdy shit or action movies. I didn't like disney much as an kid. I watched the show as if I was actually conscious and awake, it was so vivid. The intro faded in black, couple laying together; the camera closed on on their faces. They probably were kissing. It implied an afterglow or after sex. They were laughing happily. The girl revealed to the guy that she was bisexual, which ended up pissing him off. He became possessive and a stalker. I feel as if this wasn't a dream but it was; a girl with blunt bangs cut her bangs more. I don't think it was something I saw while awake. A brazillian mom then stood outside the door to her husband's bedroom, hearing moaning from a woman. She closed it. There was hurt in her eyes. I knew that he was cheating on heshe caught him cheating.

2024.04.30 13:26 inthearmsofdyl Dream Highlights

I memorized what I just dreamt about. I've been waking up/tossing and turning for exactly 10-12 hours now. I didn't dream much at all, most of the night. And it was around the afternoon when I fell asleep. In the first dream, I was at my sister's house. She had made food. I wish I could know what it all was. My niece and mom were there. I sorted though a box of bearclaw danishes that my mom had, picking three out. One fell apart/collapsed. They were a raspberry or strawberry flavor. My sister had made cream cheese danishes. I wanted to eat some. It is one of my favorite foods. My grandma has the original recipe, which my sister also enjoys. I wanted to photograph the berry danishes, upset later because the homemade ones had all gotten eaten. I cried, pissed off about it. I feel like there was something on the tv. I don't remember what happened next, or if there was a dream that followed this. I recall now, it was me at home with my brothers. We were avoiding sleep. It was late at night. My youngest brother stayed with me on the couch, unaware that I was unscrolling a paper towel that had porno frames/segments playing on it. My brother left it behind, before he went somewhere outside.
In the other dream, I was with my dad's family. It was halloween. My cousins were harassing me, well, the one in real life, who does. He's always been very rapey with me. He placed pieces of dog shit on my head, which I had caught on immediately. I almost ingested the dirty air, knocking most off my head. 'I knew you were gonna do that..' I said. My attention went towards the vhs tapes in front of me, country style, some '80s and older. A plastic bag sat under a bundle/stack of them, guessing those were rentals. One tape said, 'romania.' It looked like the movie stigmata.
I had ziplock bags of food that I was taking home, to feed my family. They got obviously thrown away by him, not lost. I got very agitated. Digging through my cousins belongings, nothing of my family was anywhere. 'Your pedophilic son who tried to molest me on multiple occasions, lost my food..' I spoke, pissed. Their mom has never liked me. She always has a indifferent, smug resting bitch face around not just me, but the rest of my family. I wanted to dig through the garbage bags. I found one bag, full of pizza. It had a bite taken out of one, which one of my brother's or me, did. That cousin tried to claim it was theirs, even though it wasn't. No one else cared but him. He was gaslighting me, as always. It's good that I stopped going over to our grandmother's house during puberty. Who knows what he could've done to me now. I haven't been there ever since, and the house has been demolished. I passed by and looked over at my dad several times. He was high. I was unfortunately relieved, because I didn't have to worry about being drove home soon, before I found the leftovers. He was not physically capable of driving. A woman or two had italian food, and they were apparently related to my dad's side. I mentioned that I can't eat pasta. 'I can't eat pasta. It has me constipated.' I mentioned prefering 'rice noodles; vegan.' I got annoyed expressions back from them. Things I recall seeing were busts of layne staley, kurt cobain, and probably chris cornell. A poster for a show, or ad, had layne spelled wrong on it. My grandmother was surprisingly being nice to me, letting me use her phone to take a picture of the wainscotting/walls. Edwardian era. We walked around the building, talking about the local supermarket. 'What it used to be, before it was a _' In real life, it was another local supermarket chain before the one it is now. I saw a scary godmother themed coffee machine, looking over at her to use the phone. I contemplating taking a selfie in front of it.
I then saw something, a edwardian bathroom. I wanted to get a picture and I loved just looking at it. 'Look, a edwardian bathroom. Isn't it cool. It's like something out of a dream.' She nodded, sympathetic. It was very cramped, almost just a wall. Up above was a iron window, victorian and small. There was probably a vent on the floor, iron, floral and victorian as well. A wooden background/board from the vintage barbie dreamhouse was nailed or stapled to the doorway. And there was a door that was covering all of it. Like coraline, so edwardian. The door was likely pastel pink. The tiling on the floor was probably pastel too. Or a deep blue. Or black. Inside the main room, I started to vomit up doll hair. Lilac colored. And white/nude. I reached in my mouth to pull it out. I had originally went straight for the garbage can, barely hacking anything out. The teen girls around were disgusted by me. A woman who was a therapist, followed after me. One of the girls behind me was mixed, half black. She was very agitated by my presence. My dad walked past me, very high. He looked sick. 'Did you say something to-___?' The therapist asked, accusing me of bullying the black girl. 'No, I was vomiting up hair. I was pulling it out of my throat..' I retort, receiving a disgusted and judgmental expression.
I found myself talking to another person, a girl had mentioned, 'robbie kay' from ouat. I lit up at her words. 'I used to be obsessed with that when it was released/came out..' She nodded, annoyance in her eyes. She did not care; you could see it in her eyes. 'I had a obsessive crush on him. Peter Pan. Then Felix.' I mentioned that Felix was my hardcore crush, which is true. 'He's in oblivion, waiting for me..' I took off running, spinning around. I was about to wake up and didn't even know it. I was so blissful and happy. In that moment.
Farther through the building, it got longer. It was a cinema. Maybe even a convention center; theatre looking. Traincars were inside, ready to go down the several hallways I didn't want to explore. Wouldn't have the energy to anyway. The therapist went down there, passing by. The main room was emptying, bags of garbage ready to leave. There were indoor trucks, loading with them. I was lucid, figuring it was 3AM in my head. Mom was gonna be pissed off that my Dad had us out, all night. We needed to get home before sunrise. I woke up, machines of loving grace playing through my head. The melody to the song, 'content' humming through the air.

Last UK Review: Slime Innit/Octopi/Slimer Climber & Final Word on UK Slimes (with pics!)
This is going to be my last UK slime shop review for a while as I will be concentrating on international stores going forward. What a fun journey it has been so far! If you’ve missed my other reviews please check out my post history on my profile and feel free to give my account a follow to keep up with future slime reviews also! At the end of this review I’m going to give my personal recommendations/opinion on UK slime shops which I hope this will be of use to new UK slimers!

Slime Innit (Etsy UK)
The packaging is gorgeous!
Their containers are 7 ounces for £6.70.
I love larger containers of at least 8oz and there does seem to be a trend in the UK towards 5oz pots so I really appreciate Slime Innit’s generous pots for such an incredibly reasonable price! This shop pulls out ALL the stops when it comes to aesthetic and presentation. Every one of these slimes are a piece of art with a style that appeals more to discerning adult slimers. Their lack of the typical pastel, kawaii themes is very refreshing and their individual labelling is retro, more mature and classy. I took a closer look at their labels and they are gloss but not waterproof. The gloss allows you to wipe slime off without destroying the label so is better than plain paper but you have to be careful as it doesn't slide off like it does on a genuine waterproof label. I previously reviewed the Flumpy Cake Butter slime and gave it a 10/10 because I truly fell in love with everything about it. This time I purchased one of their gift boxes to investigate it in in the flesh and it was gorgeous! They sent me an incredibly generous free pot of slime and a metric ton of ready mixed activator.

  • RAINBOW LEOPARD (butter, fruity berry scented)
The berry scent was soft and sweet with notes of candy and florals more so than fruit. Slime Innit have one of my favorite butter textures. It’s so matte, chewy, chubby, flubby, holadable, spreadable and crazy stretchy. It has a nice, bassy finger click, great bubble pops and tons of soft sizzles. This formula inflates a ton and is great fun to play with.
What an eyeful! I love the leopard spots!
  • STRAWBERRY SQUIDGE CAKE (butter layered with bingsu, strawberry scented)
I got a nice fresh strawberries and cream, slight candy leaning scent from this slime. I’m not generally a bingsu fan but it was far more enjoyable in this texture as it’s so soft on the hands and helped bring on soft sizzles which I’m a sucker for. The slime combined in to a really pretty peachy pink which was very much flattered by the bingsu, like pink sugar cookie batter. It was a little bit stickier than the last and needed a few puffs of activator. The previous slime was chubbier and far more inflatable but the bingsu sizzles provided me with the most satisfying ASMR.
First opened and after play.

  • CHOCCY SWIRL (light floam butter, chocolate orange scented)
The chocolate orange scent was great but I would’ve personally loved it to have been a bit stronger! I love this company's takes on iconic British confectionery (I don’t know if international slimers are familiar with a Terry’s chocolate orange, a super cute chocolate in the shape of a whole orange which breaks into segments when you bang it on the tabletop.) This slime came with a foam balls you add yourself and turned it into very sparse butter floam. The balls like to rise to the surface which looked really cool but I barely got any dropout. This formula was similar to the strawberry one above and a little bit more moist. My favorite formulas from this company other ones leaning towards the slightly dryematte and super inflatable but this was massive on the soft sizzles, which I love.
First opened/inflated.

  • FOOL’S GOLD (Pigmented clear with hard golden nuggets and gemstones, mango scent)
This was such a beautiful looking slime I thought I would treat myself to the gift box too. The gift box label is even unique to the slime inside which I think is a lovely touch. It is a beautiful, robust cardboard tube. I can’t really think of any other slime companies that offer beautiful gift packaging like this! The box contained candies and yet more borax. The slime was just so stunning and lush with little diamonds and golden nuggets! It felt very decadent and mature.
I wasn’t strictly getting mango from this but it was a subtle, pleasant, fruity, perfume-leaning scent, I very much liked it. This slime was an absolute eyeful, like playing with liquid gold. It needed bit of activator but was stretchy and beautiful with all the crackle, pops and clicks you could wish for, plus no drop out. I was intrigued to see what it would look like at the end of play/post inflation and it actually held its colour fairy well for a clear, turning into a sparkly golden caramel. I’ve never been able to capture the sparkle that remains post play in any metallic clear on camera but it is pretty. Uncoated clears are not a beginner texture so your milage may vary but this is one hell of a stunning slime!
This beautiful packaging costs an additional £3.00 and has candies and borax It would make an incredibly special gift for a slimer!
Pre and post play. It was still sparkly but the camera never plays ball.
I couldn't get over how pretty this was with the beautiful golden nuggets.

  • OCEAN TWILIGHT (pigmented clear with pinch of slushee beads, blueberry)
This was a full sized slime as a free gift, so kind of them! It was softly scented of candy blueberries. This was a stunning slime, deep emerald green with contrasting purple glitter and gemstones which reflected the multitude of green and blue colour tones within the slime. It was the only one that called for a fair bit of activator but was fun to play with and behaved well after I took the tackiness down. It turned into a dark seafoam green post play which was cool considering the ocean theme!
This was a super pretty slime that reminded me of a dark, moody ocean at night.
It held its colour very well and was still so pretty after inflation.
I hold Slime Innit in very high regard and love their inflating, matte, fluffy butter texture. The down side is that their line is currently quite limited but every single slime is a well thought out work of art. I very much hope they continue to grow as the effort they put into their aesthetic is so impressive for the UK and their beautiful gift packaging option is something that is rare to find from any slime company. Coatings on the clear slimes and waterproof labels would be the icing on the cake! My favourite slime by them by far is the Flumpy Cake Butter in terms of texture and scent but they have tremendous potential! I did speak to them about international shipping and they said it was something they were thinking about for the future. 9.8/10

Octopi Slime (UK shop)
5-8 ounces from £4.70-£5.65. Came with a free sample in a mini deli pot. Individually designed labels per slime which are not waterproof.

  • A TOAST, TO THE NEW YEAR! (butter with pony beads, lychee/caramel scented)
The scent was quite faint, I was picking up a little waft of the caramel notes. This was a very dense, light weight butter with a very smooth, dry, satiny surface. Another that was somewhat reminiscent of the Peachybbies butters (but nicer and with none of the oiliness) with a bit of a memory dough feel. Very holdable, spreadable and reminiscent of a memory foam stress toy in hand. It had a lot of resistance on the stretch. It was a little touch towards the dry and rippy end of the scale and called for slow stretching (or a little splash of distilled water should you wish, that works very well to make it a little more fluffy and moist.) It would be an excellent texture for a beginner and is quite pleasant in hand but is not a big, airy, fluffy type of butter.
before and after play.

  • DANDELION PUDDING (T&G, mango/vanilla scented)
I was getting a mild hint of vanilla scent from this but a chemical element overwhelmed it. It was a little bit under-activated and sticky and called for a good splash of activator. Unfortunately, the amount of activator needed to eventually take the stickiness back ended up making it a bit rippy.
Before and after play

  • MINI MARSHMALLOW (floam, melted marshmallow scent)
I can’t say I picked up much in the way of a scent from this slime but the texture was good and really pleasing in the hands. Mixed size foam balls in a slime-to-ball ratio I particularly prefer (I don't like floams which are too dense on the foam balls) and great crackle and pops. Larger ball floam is always a super fun texture to play with and this shop did it well!
Before and after play.

  • LIME WATER (coated clear, sweet water scent)
For a coated clear this is very sticky and I don’t feel the perfume scent fits the theme at all, a fresh citrus would have worked better here. Nonetheless fun to inflate, click and pop but not what I’d expect from a coated clear.
Before and after play.

  • MOON DUST (white glue sand, lemon sherbet scented)
A dense sand slime which was available in a 5 or 8oz size. This is the 8oz. The colour, texture and glitter really did remind me of the moon/space and I loved the theme. The lemon scent is not bad and quite fresh. The texture is pleasant and well activated. I really liked this slime. It’s not too sand dense giving it some great bubble pops. There was very minimal sand fall out.
Before and after play.

  • STYGIAN IRON (icee/clear float, coffee scented)
A faint hint of coffee. This came out the pot extremely wet on its surface but combined into a non-sticky jelly. The texture is nice and feels well activated. The coffee scent comes forward a bit more as you play.
Before and after play.
This company was a little hit and miss for me, but the hits were very nice and I liked the unusual, darker themes. 7/10

Slimer Climber (UK webshop)
5oz pots, most priced at £7.95. Small, simplistic paper labels with the name and scent printed on them. I very much like the idea of the scent being listed on a label, especially as a reviewer. Sometimes I can't quite put my finger on a scent so go to the website to determine it, just to find that there are in the pre-restock stage and you can only see the holding page.

  • GRAYLING (cloud, cotton and ink scent)
A super cool concept with the delicate silver leaf which crumbles to powder when touched, one of the few add-ins (along with fine glitter) that is good idea in cloud slime as metal leaf is incredibly light and clingy so I was excited. Unfortunately, to my surprise and disapointment, the scent was profoundly unpleasant, something I have never said of any slime before. There were notes of cotton but what ever the “ink” was supposed to be just smelled like the slime had gone off, it was sour, musty and nauseating. This was a great shame as it seemed like it could have been a nice cloud slime with a potentially good drizzle otherwise.
Cloud is my favourite texture and SO difficult to find in its pure form (i.e. not a cloud dough or creme) so the scent was a terrible shame. I’m afraid the scent got the better of me, I couldn’t get past it as I genuinely wasn’t sure if it were by design or literally some terrible microbial bloom. I know scents are very subjective but I can’t imagine who would find this one enjoyable. Due to this I never got to warm it up and test the drizzle.
Assembled with silver lead and returned to its pot.

  • HE IS RISEN (jelly x icee x sand, banana bread scent)
Unfortunately, I noted a small hair in this slime upon opening, as is visible in the photo. This did put me off and wasn’t an encouraging follow up to Grayling’s problematic scent. That aside, this was a pretty good banana bread scent and had an interesting hybrid texture that looked like mashed banana. I tried to look past the hair and braved it to find it quite sticky and needing repeat activation. It inflated a bit and had some good bubble pops but the stickiness did persist.
before and after play.

  • EGG SHELLS (floam, mint choc scent)
I found the scent accurate and quite pleasant with definite ice cream notes. However, sadly this was under-activated and extremely loose and sticky. A lot of activator later and it remained to be quite sticky. I appreciate you can work with a slime and get it into a better state but I’ve been spoilt by slimes from all over the world that are perfect out the pot, even after an international journey. I don’t really see what excuse there is when the slime was shipped from within the UK. If I wanted to deal with slimes that needed this much activation, I’d just make my own.

First opened and after some effort with activator.

· BUBBLEWRAP (jelly x floam, unscented)
This slime also called for a good few squirts of activator and came together initially. However, upon stretching, it did start to get much too loose and sticky again and I’m afraid I really was losing heart by these slimes at that point. A sad shame as I very much liked this texture as I’m a big fan of large sized foam balls. Some of them squeaked with a little squeeze which is always fun. In the periods during which it behaved, it had a nice texture.
Before and after play.

  • MOTH COOCHIE COOKIE (jelly x clay, “midnight air” scented)
When I first saw this hilarious coochie slime I had to have it! Haha! The scent of the base is a pleasant, dark, musky perfume. Unfortunately, upon opening the clay, I found it had a very musty scent and was totally dried out, rippy and rubbery. With a second slime smelling musty I really did feel concerned that I could be dealing with slimes well past their best and was worried about the potential for mould spores. For the sake of the review I popped on some gloves and a mask and quickly combined it. It turned a nice lilac color but was quite stiff, dried out and rippy.
Before and after play.
This was a very regrettable experience as I had seen this shop recommended on this sub previously and I thought their slimes looked quite mature, interesting and different with bit of a darker gothic vibe which appealed to me. Their website was well put together and seemed professional too. I think it’s important to remember that many UK slime stores are of a smaller, hobby-leaning nature. These slimes are generally not created in factory style production lines within a clinically set up warehouse like in the States but rather in a small creator’s home….and life and oversights happen to us all.
Clearly, a considerable amount of thought was put into the ideas behind these and you never know what could be happening in someone’s life to take them off their A game. It’s very possible I just got unlucky and just got a one-off bad batch from Slimer Climber. I shopped between restocks and perhaps got some less popular slimes that had reached the end of their useful lives. Its every bit possible that the next person to purchase from this store will have a stellar experience. To boot, some slime shops which had bad reviews a year ago have great reviews today, such is the nature of slime and things can and do change. For now a regrettable 2/10

FINAL THOUGHTS ON UK SLIMES!
Some of the slime experiences I have had in the UK have been really good and others extremely disappointing. Ultimately, the good slime shops are thin on the ground here and the high end, professional, small factor level seen in the States isn't really a thing. The final review above really drove it home to me that I would have to be more discerning as to where I purchased from as hygiene is extremely important to me and I don't want to risk coming into contact with concerning microbes or huffing mould spores. I want to be certain that appropriate PPE such as gloves are worn by those producing and handling the slime and that it is perfectly fresh and well activated on arrival. I also wish for highly professional looking slimes in terms of labelling, aesthetic, presentation, consistency and reliability and I’m happy to pay more to best achieve this experience. The conclusion I have come to is that my slime tastes and wishes will be more closely met by international slime stores at this stage.
I have found a few really solid slime stores in the UK which I will be delighted to support going forward. Some of the UK stores previously recommended on this sub seem to no longer be operational, which is again testament to the fact that UK operations are often small and fleeting rather than the more impressively sized, team run professional enterprises seen in the USA.
If I could only shop from one store in the UK in order to meet my various textural needs, this would be Hotch Potch Slime. I would recommend them as a fantastic choice for any UK slimer, both new and well seasoned. I was very impressed by the recipes and consistency/textures/scents of all their slimes. Especially their cloud, coated clear, jelly cube and lotion texture. In fact, their mint green sparkle cloud remains to be my favourite cloud slime worldwide. You can find my review of their slimes here.
Honourable mentions go to Slime Innit, Gaza Slimes, Totogi Slimes, Emma Bee and Slime Screwball and Duck Duck Slime. Tap on their names to see my reviews.
See you again on the next review! I'm going to be looking at slimes from the USA, Korea and Japan going forward and can't wait!

Arugula ref pic
--- [So sorry, to the like dozen people who read this, I was gone so long! I wanted to write out most of the backstory before starting to post it but College work and starting to foster Danes completely overwhelmed me to the point I didn't have much time to write it out. I'm going to hesitantly try to start writing this. Hopefully I'll be able to post roughly every other week. Anyways, sorry again] ‐‐‐
As everyone settled back down Arugula thought over how to start. You couldn't help but keep glancing over at the ghostly dragonet floating on their back and looking bored. They suddenly glanced over, making eyecontact with you, causing you to jump and snap your gaze away from them. You heard a soft, slightly echoey, chuckle as you refused to glance anywhere near them after that.
"Al'ight. S'pose ah shuld g've eh lil' 'text 'bout meh 'atchlin'-'ood ferst." (Alright. I suppose I should give a little context about my hatchling-hood first)
<------
A tiny hatchling, not more than a week out of the egg, waddled around chirping. Eyes squinted, nearly shut completely, and tiny layer of fur fluffed up. It stumbled around clumsily through the brush, toppling over onto the ground many times. Under the layer of fluff it was much too thin, even for a summer-hatched icewing. Its fur was dirty and heavily matted from the days of stumbling through the woods. Its voice was quiet and hoarse from the near-constant use over many days of calling with no answer.
The hatchling stumbled over a tree root its tiny squinted eyes didn't spot and fell to the ground. Laying spread eagle on the ground the hatchling silently layed there, resting it's exhausted body. It panted slightly from both exhaustion and the heat through its fur it wasn't used to. It closed its eyes to shield them from the bright lights they weren't quite ready for as it rested. Then one of it's tiny ears twitched. Opening its tiny eyes back into a squint, it lifted it's head in the direction of the noise and chirped out a few calls. It then fell silent to listen. The entire forest itself seemed to hold it's breath.
Then the call was answered.
Two long grumbling howls of a responding call echoed out of the trees. The tiny icewing perked up and shakily crawled back onto it's aching paws. It then waddled towards the call, chirping out multiple times as it did. It's excitement only grew as it's call was answered again, without pause this time. The answering calls grew shorter, more like barks, and lasted for longer before stopping as the hatchling got closer. With the longer answering calls the hatchling was able to rest their voice more and listen out longer.
The hatchling eventually stumbled out of a bush and flopped on the ground again. It lifted it's head and shook it but paused when the bright light coming into it's squinted eyes dimmed. It looked up with a small chirp and was met by a large figure towering over it, blocking the bright-light-ball in the sky.
The hatchling must have misgauged how far it was from the answering dragon since when it chirped the large figure towering over it made a quiet answering rumble. It lowered it's head and sniffed the hatchling, trying to scent it's parents. It wasnt able to. Not being able to leave the hatchling alone it made up it's mind and nuzzled the white hatchling after a few seconds of suprised staring. The hatchling happily let the dragon it rub it's scent onto it's fur, letting out many happy chirps at the attention.
Then the dragon moved it's head to pick up the hatchling. The fluffy hatchling was suprised when it was gently lifted by it's wings instead of the fluffy temporary mane behind the base of it's head. Either way it curled into a tight ball and locked it's joints in place to keep from tossing it's weight around. The dragon waited for the hatchling to get situated before it spread it's red and orange wings, taking to the air as gently as it could.
<>
Years later a glimmer of white was spotted between the trees deep into the sky queendom within the hilly forests before the mountains started. A grey-ish pastel and steel blue scaled dragon walked through the plants. Their bark colored eyes flickered from one bush of berries to the next, light glinting on the amber ring around their pupil. They eventually found what they were looking for and approached a bush, carefully picking through the branches to take the ripe and not-quite-there berries from it. They had to be careful because of their serrated claws but had done this so many times they weren't worried.
Their long ear flicked and they glanced upwards, tilting their head slightly to block the light with their straw hat and the glare with the long dull spikes over their eyes. They watched the sky between the branches for a few long seconds. Then two flashes of red in rapid succession flashed past, causing the trees to rustle grumpily at the disturbance. It was only a second or two later until two roars filled the sky, one of triumph and the other of annoyance. The spikey dragon smiled to themself and chuckled while they shook their head. They finished picking the berries and placed their basket back into it's carrier strapped to their side next to other bags and baskets.
Standing again, they turn and make their way back the way they came, careful of the spikes lining their tail. It was a short walk until they were back in a clearing big enough for them to be able to take off without risk of injury, for them and the plants. They took to the air and hovered over the trees, watching back the way they came as two small red forms chased each other through the air. Flipping, twirling, diving, swooping, it was like a dance as they played. The brightly colored dragon reached to their hat and grabbed the cloth tied around the middle of it. Unwinding it, they used the two straps of fabric it dangled in to tie under their jaw and keep their hat in place.
Then they chirped out a short bark of a roar that was so low it was felt more than heard. It only took two wingbeats for the playing dragons to stop and bank their flight towards them. They quickly made their way over and before they were even halfway the spikey dragon turned and flapped towards home. It wasnt long until two tiny red blurs shot past them, playfully snapping, bumping, and batting at each other. The spikey dragon chuckled again and watched the two dragons built for the sky resume their dance through the air.
When the three's home was in sight two larger red dragons rose from the treetops and met the two smaller ones in the air, exchanging greetings and pleasantries as the white dragon slowly caught up in a casual pace. Once they were close enough, they smiled and greeted the two slightly larger, and much older, dragons.
"Ma. Pa." The two smiled back and returned the greeting. Their mother sliding closer in the air to bump snouts in hello, they returned the motion happily. They asked the two a question as they backflapped, letting the duo of red blurs speed between them and their parents.
"Goin' fer anoth'a fly?" Their father answered with his own question.
"'T's such a beau'iful day t'day, ain't 't?" Their mother took her turn with another bright smile.
"Weh'll be back 'n time fer dinner. Weh may ev'n bring back ah mountain goat er two. I know 'ow much ya like those." Used to their family's countless trips through the air, they nodded.
"'Ll make sure ta 'ave somethin' ready fer y'all. Dinner 'round dusk like usual?" Their mother swooped under them towards their little siblings as their father answered.
"'Course. Oh! 'Fore I ferget: I think I saw somethin' messin' with ya garden earlier. I couldn' quite get a good look at 't but 't was quite small." The spikey dragon hummed.
"'Cavenger?" They questioned. Their father shook his head.
"Too short, but 'round the size 'f a paw if I were ta take a guess. Only saw 't at a glance." The white dragon nodded thoughtfully. Their father smiled at them and patted their shoulder before passing them in the air.
"Take good care 'f the 'ouse fer 's, 'Rugula." The icewing, smiled as he watched his family gather together again before flying off, each beginning to swoop, swerve, dive, bank, twirl, and twist around each other in a complicated dance unable to be repeated. Arugula watched their family fly off for a while until they were just tiny specks on the horizon. Only then did they turn and fly the rest of the way to their home.
Arugula landed outside in a particularly clear patch of grass. They then wandered into the fence keeping forest animals from the flowers and garden surrounding the thunder of five's home. They made sure to clasp the latch behind them before they walked farther and into their den. They put all the bags and baskets of gathered materials down, straightening up the various rooms after their little siblings as they went. Once finished cleaning and putting things away, they wandered back outside to their garden. They let a glance sweep over the garden to check for any damage that sticks out.
Thankfully not seeing anything major, they started down one of the paths through their garden. As they went they checked on the plants to see what needed to be watered and what was getting close to fruiting. They spotted a few plants with small sections of their leaves missing or with a few branches of berries gone. They were annoyed but didn't care overly much, their home was in the middle of a forest after all. They hummed to themself as they picked a few things they needed for dinner later and did general upkeep of their garden. After a while they did spot a small part of the fence having a hole in it.
They studied the edges of the hole, inside and outside, trying to see if an animal chewed or clawed it's way through. They didn't find anything though, it just looked like the planks in that section gets more soaked than the rest of the fence and rotted away over time. They'll have to fix that soon. For now they made a temporary patch for the hole and wiggled it a bit once it was secured to make sure it wouldn't come undone until they replaced those few boards. Happy with the patch, they continued checking over their garden, taking note of what plants were damaged from whatever wiggled through the hole.
Once they looped back around to the house they glanced to the sky, gauging how long it would be until their family came back. Deciding they should start up making dinner, they ducked inside. They placed the things they gathered from their garden with the baskets from earlier then turned and went back to the front door to hang up their hat and foraging harness for the night. They hummed to themself as they grabbed their inside gloves to keep their serrated claws from cutting something accidentally.
They clicked out a random tune with their tail spikes as they thought over what they should make for dinner. Something that goes well with mountain goat. They thought over many different options as they put the extra foraging away into their proper storage places. As they put them away they rearranged the containers to put the older stuff in the front, it needing to be used sooner before it goes bad. As they shuffled around the baskets, sacks, jars, and bottles they paused their mindless clinking as they saw a certain nearly empty jar.
They stared at it as they flipped over a few dinner recipes in their mind. They tapped its cap in thought as they decided if they were going to make the meal using this jar. They haven't had it in a while, but they don't see this very often any more. They won't be able to replace it for a while. They pulled the jar out and set it on the counter as they looked through the rest of the cabinets for what else they have.
Seeing what they had and making a mental note of what needs to be refilled soon, they decided on a recipe and put the extra things away. They resumed their mindless clinking of a tune as they worked, this time adding in their neck spikes to it to make it louder and fill the empty silence better. They let themself zone out after they built a fire and kept an eye on it, starting to prepare the ingredients and sides for the meal. Just before they got into a good groove their focus was snapped away suddenly by the door busting open soon followed by a solid 'thump' of something large hitting the ground.
They jumped and instinctively sniffed the air when the familiar scents from their family didn't flood their nose. As soon as they got a good whiff of air they froze and tenced, spikes and scales both puffing up to make them look bigger. That wasn't their family. Their family's scents do vary day to day but it mostly stays anywhere between fire to charcoal. This scent, was not even remotely close. It didn't even smell like they were a skywing.
This one (no two, there were two scents) smelled like dirt just before rain with a hint of blood and death. It smelled like returning from a hunt just before a storm started. Once they focused on the scent they were able to pick out a second one hiding under the first. They couldn't figure out if it was because the two scents melded together or if one dragon was just that much larger than the other. Maybe both?
The second scent was a tad harder to get a read on with the bigger scent clogging up their nose so much but eventually it clicked. This one smelled like a forest and flowers. Like going for a hike and stumbling across a sunny clearing in the middle of spring. If Arugula wasn't absolutely terrified about why two unfamiliar dragons barged into their thunder's den, it would have been quite relaxing to smell. Looking towards the doorway leading towards the main part of the den, Arugula waited in tence silence.
They couldn't make up their mind on if they should investigate or just leap out the window and fly away from the strangers. Before they could decide they heard a barely there groan and that piqued their curiosity. Cursing themself, knowing it would probably get them killed but unable to leave the question of who it was unanswered, they silently put down what they were holding and crept as carefully as they could towards the doorway to the entrance room. Steeling themself once there, they took a breath before peeking around the corner. They wish they hadn't.
There, collapsed in the middle of the entranceway and just barely far enough from the door for it to shut, was the largest mudwing they had ever seen. Nevermind the fact it was covered in scars, fresh wounds of varying severity, and its scales having a permanently grey-ish tint to them that made their own scales crawl and itch with discomfort. None of that was what drew their eye, though. No, that privilege went to the giant, blistering, angry-looking burn freshly seared along the dragon's spine starting just behind it's shoulders like it tried to duck under the flames but was grazed anyways. It was sluggishly bleeding and slightly oozing a clear substance that was just this side of being mistaken for water. They were so taken aback by the sight that they hadn't even realized they had shifted fully into the doorway and now in clear view if the dragon were to look their way. Thankfully, it didn't seem to notice them. Unfortunately, it's companion did.
The second dragon was much smaller than the mudwing. Just barely larger than a bigger than usual rainwing. It looked like someone took a seawing and rainwing, mixed them together, and swapped some of the features with leaves. It was the strangest dragon they've seen yet. They hadn't noticed the second dragon until it was rushing over and practically gluing itself against them.
"Help him! Please! Please help!" It- she?- they pleaded with them. Tearing their gaze from the injured mudwing, that looked to have (hopefully temporarily) blacked out, they took a second to study the second dragon. It wore a light blue and magenta jacket that ended at the bottom of it's ribs, a necklace with a heart shaped pendant, a hornring with a chain connecting it to an earring, and two tailbangles of different sizes connected with a chain. It's clothes and the way it held itself was very feminine but they shouldn't assume. Should they ask pronouns? No- wait, they asked them something. They shook their head slightly to clear it.
"Pard'n?" They asked the dragon clinging to them. The dragon shifted and glanced at the mudwing with worry before repeating itself.
"Can you help him? I-" It worked it's jaw a bit before it's words came back, though it's voice was choked with unshed tears as it stared at the injured mudwing. "I don't know what to do..." it came out as a quiet whined plea. To be perfectly honest Arugula had no idea what to do either. At most they have basic knowledge of first-aid. They do have a bit more than average knowledge of burns just because of their siblings not having the best grasp on their fire yet but they've never worked on anything this bad before. Not to mention that not only does the dragon's aura scream danger, but it's scent does too. Who would have blood and death in their scent if they weren't constantly surrounded by both? But...they looked over the giant mudwing crumpled pitifully and all the deep wounds scattered around it that would probably need stitches (that they only had theoretical knowledge how to do) then back to the dragon clung to them. It was holding tightly to their arm and pressed as close as their cold scales would allow, ignoring the chill of them, as it stared at the mudwing. It's tail slightly wrapped around one of their back legs too, though it didn't seem to notice.
They studied the smaller dragon next to them. It looked about three seconds away from either all out panic or bursting into tears. They can't quite decide which is more likely but they didn't like either option. Both made their heart ache with sympathy. Looking back over the mudwing bleeding on their floor they scanned it's wounds then silently sighed and cursed their own bleeding heart as it beat back their self-preservation with a branch. Gathering up as much courage and confidence as they could, they rose their wings to fold across their back instead of at thier sides, both to keep them out of the way and to support their weight as they work, and they took a big breath. Letting it out they let their mind start flashing through everything they'll need and what they should start on. They turned to the dragon clinging to them then paused for a second.
"Name 'n pronouns?" It paused, taken off guard at the questions, and looked at them for a few seconds in confusion but answered.
"Uh. Foxglove, She/her?" It ended more like a question than a statement at her confusion but they ignored it.
"'Kay, miss 'glove. Ya squeamish?" She blinked, thought about it for a second, then slowly shook her head.
"No....," She slowly answered, "Unless it's like guts and an excess of gore. I'm good with blood and really bad wounds." Arugula nodded and looked back at the mudwing, a treatment plan forming in their head.
"Good. Ah'll need ya 'elp then. Down that 'all, two doors down 'n th' lef' there's ah room wit' ah shaggy fur on the groun'. 'N there ya'll see a box o' gloves. Grab th' yell'a ones. Make sure they the yell'a ones, not oran'. Then grab th' white bags they next ta." She looked down the hall they pointed to as they explained and carefully approached the downed mudwing. At the end of their directions she sped off without a second of hesitation. With her gone they turned their full attention to the giant mudwing. Now that they're closer they realize how big the dragon really is. One of it's paws was probably almost as big as their entire head. It looked to have the strength to easily crush their skull with one paw too.

SAMAR perfume announced as a finalist for the 2024 Art and Olfaction Awards!
Hello everyone!! Last night, The Institute for Art and Olfaction released the exciting news that our perfume, Grove is in the Heart, is a finalist for the Golden Pear awards! This is our second year as finalists after Garden Heaux was nominated in 2023!
About our perfume Grove is in the Heart
Like its namesake, Grove is in the Heart invites you to a delightful sensory experience. A perfume that conjures sepia toned childhood memories of picking and peeling a perfectly ripe mandarin on a hot summer's day, that first greedy bite bursting tart, sweet juice over our tongues and wrists as we revelled in the delicious mess we'd made.
We created Grove to evoke yearning for the headiness of summertime play, devoid of the hangups that accumulate as we age. When we decided that citrus would be the primary note, we knew we were in for a challenge. Our goal became creating a long lasting hyper-realistic mandarin scent both for the theme of a joy that is enduring and tackling the challenge of citrus longevity. Citrus materials are quite volatile, meaning their low molecular weight causes them to vibrate more rapidly and dissipate very quickly. That is why citrus notes tend to last only 10-30 minutes on average. In addition to the natural limitations of citrus materials, we adhere to IFRA (International Fragrance Association) guidelines, so we encountered the additional challenge of balancing their recommended usage limits to avoid skin sensitization and getting our desired outcome for the final composition. After many months, tons of research, ~50+ iterations, more hunting for materials, and so.much.math. we were absolutely elated to finally agree on THE ONE. Grove is immediately zesty, juicy, and sweet with the gentle florality of linden blossom softening the edges while Indonesian sandalwood adds this grounding fuzziness that we liken to the romance of a memory filtered through a polaroid photo. On average, Grove lasts about 6 hours and the dry down retains a zesty, pithy quality like the scent that lingers on our hands after peeling an orange.
Grove is in the Heart chilling in the alleyway behind our apartment on a thrifted handheld mirror surrounded by oranges. So down to earth
What’s next
The awards ceremony in June, where the winners will be announced, is being held in Lisbon, Portugal. Right now Na-Moya is going through the visa process in the hopes that we’ll be able to attend in person and she’ll get to break out her passport to leave North America for the first time since she immigrated to the U.S. from Jamaica as a kid. So please cross all your fingers and toes for us and maybe we’ll get to eat pastel de natas from the source and we’ll get to use the Portuguese we just started learning!
About the awards
The IAO is an invaluable resource for perfumers and perfume lovers alike and does incredible work to uplift and provide continuing education for small artisan/indie creators. Each year since their first award in 2012, the IAO welcomes hundreds of perfume submissions from around the world. Over the course of several months a panel of judges conducts a blind evaluation of the samples and based on an aggregate score select the top ten fragrances in two primary categories, Artisan (us!) and Independent (a perfume made for a brand the perfumer doesn’t own).
If you’d like to learn more about the IAO and the other finalists, you can find that info here!
Thank yoooou! We’re absolutely buzzing with excitement and waaay too much coffee today!
Happy sniffing, smelly pals!

UK Etsy Slime reviews (with pictures!) Three Donuts / Prime Slimes / Slime Innit
Another review for you UK slimers (but also a special British slime you US folks should check out at the end!) The below slimes came from UK Etsy.
Three Donuts:
Three Donuts Slimes
This company’s slime themes are more so geared towards young kids which is not to my taste but they are very nicely packaged including the super cute design of the label. They send a ton of cool little goodies and candies in the box that kids would surely love (but adults will stare at whilst wondering what pre-diabetes may feel like! 😝)
These slimes have waterproof labels and each pot has a paper sticker with the name of the slime and its scent on the underside. No individual lables. Their slimes are simplistic (only 1 DIY slime in their range) and the general aesthetic is very child-centric with gawdy colours, cutesy, very loudly coloured charms and sprinkles, infantile names etc.
I had a previous experience with a few of their slimes a while back (not pictured here): Lolly Swirl (a snowfizz and bingsu), pink jelly crush (jelly cube and bingsu), Baby Axolotl in pink (butter) and Octopus (icee) and don’t remember finding them too bad so just got a few of their larger sized slimes to review.

  • KITTY FLUFF CLOUD (Cloud):
This slime has a perfume-like scent which isn’t my thing but it’s not too overwhelming. The scent is described as “unicorn sparkle” so I’m a little stumped on a frame of reference for that one LOL! A pink, white and blue swirled cloud slime which combined into a very pretty pastel lilac.
Cloud slimes are my obsession but very regretfully this one was a bit of a fail for me. It was clumpy, a tad rippy and I struggled to get a decent drizzle or style this attractively for a pic. I broke off a smaller piece to really warm up and still no cigar. I really wanted to like this cloud slime so that was a shame! It was still a lovely slime to squish and play with without masses of drop out and I should imagine a very young child who is not going in for the drizzle Olympics would be thrilled with the texture. I do apologise as I forgot to take a before pic but here it is when combined.

Kitty Fluff Cloud

  • OCTOPUS (Icee):
This slime’s scent is blueberry cheesecake and it’s pleasant enough though isn’t particularly faithful to its namesake and has a slight chemical undertone. It came with a little bag of sprinkles/micro charms and gems with a larger octopus charm. I put the sprinkles in the slime for the sake of the review and then promptly kicked myself for not listening to my inner dialog about putting charms in a snow-rich slime! Alas, there was near constant fall out! They flew, bounced and ticked and tacked all around me and I’m going to be finding them for weeks! Arrrgh! If you get this slime definitely forego put them in!
The colour is a bright frozen jewel blue which I personally found a bit garish but it is obviously in line with this company’s aesthetic. The icee texture was superior to the snow but still not providing me with satisfying drizzles. There was some clumping and ripping. As mentioned above, this was not my first rodeo with this particular cloud slime. The first one I got was a smaller size and I remember it having better drizzle so perhaps this batch has slight variations in the recipe. Again a soft, pleasant slime to play with with minimal snow drop out, little kids would have no complaints (but their parents may due to the inevitable charm-valanch!)

  • BANANA BEAR (snow butter)
This slime is banana scented but it’s quite an artificial type scent with the chemical undertone again. It comes with a little bag of charms including a bear holding bananas, a bunch of bananas and some very cute banana and chocolate sprinkles. This slime combines into a sort of yellow caramel colour which reminds me of overripe bananas and is actually kind of cool along with the banana fragrance. The texture of this slime very much redeemed the prior slimes. It is a very smooth, stretchy, perfectly activated snow butter with no stickiness. Good finger pokes and gentle bubble pops. It inflated a fair bit and needed a second pot. After a while I did end up forgiving the artificial nature of the scent because the whole over-ripe banana vibe was sort of whimsical and hilarious. While this particular butter slime isn’t exactly to my personal taste and not one I'd go for again, I really can't fault it.

  • LAVENDER AXOLOTL (butter)
I'm confused as to why a slime would have this name but then be scented with “dewberry fizz.” I'm guessing that lavender is not a scent that kids would usually find appealing so the the decision was made to include this scent instead. That having been said, this was not a particularly pleasant smell and was reminiscent of lemon cleaning products. It was pretty overwhelming to me and I wanted to get the review over with because of it. My husband sitting across the room even ended up remarking on it unfavorably. The colour was again quite a garish jewel tone which would probably appeal to kids. It comes with a little bag of purple sprinkles, tiny gems and a purple axolotl charm.
This butter slime was a pretty sticky and needed a lot of activator. It would calm down and then get sticky again and call for more. It gave good pokes and bubble pops but then the stickiness would return and there is only so much activator I will sacrifice to a slime I know that, ultimately, isn’t for me and won’t be kept. This butter slime was very loose and didn’t hold a swirl long enough for me to get a photo having set it up. For a butter, it doesn’t really hold or spread at all, it’s just gummy, sticky and gloopy. I like dry-feel, spreadable, fluffy butters that hold well so this was a bit of a fail for me. If I was really committed to this slime I would probably keep adding activator and working with it and I’m sure it would improve (but equally it could end up over-activating and ripping the way it was going.)

  • SPACE COW (Jelly Cube)
Unfortunately this pot had a small crack in the bottom with a tiny bit of leakage but luckily it was extremely minor. The scent was stated to be Blackberry apple but didn’t particularly conjure those fruits. It came with a bag of Among Us and star sprinkles and a space cow charm which I thought were pretty fun and kids would probably freak out for! However, I opted to not put them in the slime as I don’t feel these sort of large sprinkles really add to the sensory experience of jelly cube slime. My apologies that the charm/sprinkles aren’t pictured. I parted company with the add ins at some point and think I must have accidentally thrown them out with the packaging when I had a brain fart and forget I’d need to photograph them none the less.
This slime was very, very sticky. I started going in with the activator and had a really tough time taking down the stickiness. I could spray enough activator to handle the slime with quick movements but as soon as I went in to crush a jelly cube (and, ooooh yes, I’m a rabidly aggressive jelly cube crusher LOL) I landed in sticky trouble. As above, there is a limit to how much activator I'm willing to give to a slime. The amount this one was taking made me decide to just abandon ship as I wasn’t really feeling it. The ultimate decider was the fact the jelly cubes were fairly hard and not the most satisfying to squish.
Here is a pic of the freshly opened slime but the sticky situation I ended up in didn’t lend itself to taking ‘after’ photographs!

Space Cow.
In that I had some memorably decent slimes from this company previously, I feel bad not being able to give them a much better review. However, consistency in a slime company’s products is of the high importance to me as I’m sure it is to you. If I were really committed to this slime I'd probably take a little longer to get them activated to optimal texture but, the way I was going, I did wonder whether some would end up over-activated, ripping but still sticky.
Admittedly even if the textures were textbook, I wouldn’t buy from them again as I didn’t get on with the harsh scents or aesthetic whatsoever. I must stress that this company has a plethora of glowing reviews on Etsy so perhaps I was just very unlucky with this order, or perhaps they are mostly bought for young kids who don't have discerning tastes. If I was specifically buying slimes for young children I think I would opt for these. There is no real DIY element to confuse kids, certain textures were really easy to handle and the popping colours and child-centric aesthetic would definitely grab a young kid's interest above more adult-focussed aesthetics.
I give this store a 7/10.

PrimeSlime2024:
  • CREATE YOUR OWN SLIME (glossy/fluffy)
  • ICE CREAM SUNDAE (vanilla, appeared to be a fluffy butter in the photo.)
I really hope this will be the last review of this nature I will ever have to do but this one was a BIG eye opener and slime life lesson for me. An unfortunate reminder to me that just anyone can set up shop on Etsy and that it’s so very important to shop wisely from sellers with a multitude of positive reviews that you know take hygiene and professionalism seriously.
Despite pictures of good looking slimes on the listing and the reviews being all positive (though very limited) this slime was sadly a disappointment right out the box. The label was badly hand drawn and didn’t give the impression of a professional approach. Honestly, I think a kid may have made these slimes. Ultimately this gave me some concerns about the potential hygiene standards and quality of the product.
Unfortunately, upon opening the first jar, this concern was proven to be justified by the fact the slime was a barely activated, foamy, liquid mess (the ice cream sundae.) I tried to poke it to assess the extent of the situation and ended up coated in a goo the consistency of sticky custard. Looking closely after disturbing it, I saw streaks of a black substance so I immediately abandoned ship, tossed it out and scrubbed the hell out of my hands 😅
The custom slime was a little more activated but none the less a wet, bubbly goo and unpleasant in every way. Neither slime had any added scent (I looked back at the listing and to be fair none were mentioned) and it looked every bit like some young kid’s weekend science experiment gone wrong.
I messaged the seller who insisted the black substance must have come from the label. It’s possible of course but I'd never risk it. They seemed absolutely stunned that the slime had arrived in this condition and said they were bamboozled as to why, not a good sign. They offered me a replacement but I politely declined. I remained polite despite the somewhat curt and defensive replies I got at first and eventually, upon me insisting, they issued a refund and a kind apology which was very much appreciated.
Sadly but as expected, this store gets a 1/10 from me.

Slime innit:
I don’t want to end this review on a low note so I’m going to review a GREAT British slime to wrap it up!
  • FLUMPY CAKE BUTTER (butter slime)
I heard great things about this shop prior to purchase and they certainly proved to be true! This slime looks absolutely amazing and is such a cool idea (inspired by the iconic, retro British marshmallow candy.) Included are squeezy foam marshmallows with a fairly firm consistency that hold their shape well. This shop also sells a cardboard gift container which I didn’t purchase but it’s gorgeous and next time I will (because there will 100% be a next time with this shop!)
The fragrance is stated to be vanilla but I’m absolutely getting billows of mildly fruity marshmallow and I just love it. The scent is natural, sweet and not in the least bit overwhelming or overdone. I actually compared the scent to a real flump I picked up and found it so close. The name of this company gives me a good chuckle (American friends- “innit” is a slang term, short for “isn’t it” which basically means a persuasive “right!?” Many of us Londoners overuse it and it’s funny in this brand name’s context!)
The retro style label is classy and understated (though gloss rather than waterproof) and individual to this particular slime. The designs of all their slimes are really out there and impressive, many are very abstract and artistic and very different to anything I’ve seen before, though I'm generally drawn to food themed slimes so only purchased this one this time. It very much feels like this shop aims its slimes at adults looking to reconnect with their inner child, who also like the finer things in life. This maker has got to be an artist or an art grad from the abstract designs of their slimes! If you check out their other slimes on Etsy you'll see what I mean. This butter slime starts off fairly bright but mellows out into a really pretty peachy pastel orange.
This slime is completely non sticky. A week after my first play it feels exactly the same. It’s chewy, stretchy, fluffy, inflates a ton and is just so satisfying and easy to play with. Good bubble pops and finger pokes, I genuinely didn’t want to put it away.
I love the nostalgia of this slime! Big (and small) British kids, this one’s for you! And overseas slimers? I’m not certain if they ship internationally but If you wish to give a British slime a go this company won’t disappoint! Their optional gift box is just awesome and this would make the coolest gift for someone who would enjoy an “authentically and quintessentially British” slime!
I would absolutely buy it again, and again. Even if I generally end up gravitating towards US stores eventually, I'll still come back for this one as I don’t think this is a slime theme I’d be likely find in the States! I’m reluctant to call anything totally perfect but I don’t see how this slime could be improved.
Solid 10 out of 10.

2024.04.12 22:56 SlimeSpree UK Etsy Slime review (with pictures!) “Slime Screwball”

Hi folks!
I am a UK based adult slimer and have decided to have a little fun reviewing slimes! I’m going to start off reviewing UK slimes as they are somewhat underrepresented.
In order to quieten my intrusive slime thoughts, I’ve gone on a major buying spree of the slimes available on Etsy UK so will start off by reviewing those. However I’m excited to expand this to UK shops such as Emma Bee etc. as their drops happen!
My Bonnie and Clyde level slime spree has also extended to the USA and I’m waiting on a king’s share of slimes from multiple companies so look forward to developing an informed view of what is available worldwide and how it differs!
Let’s-a-go with the reviews! I’m starting off with “Slime Screwball” from Etsy UK, I can only really fit one store in this review as it’s so long and image heavy!
I was EXTREMELY impressed with my delivery from this seller when I first opened the box it was the best first impression from a slime company yet. Well packaged, utterly stunning presentation with lovely organza bags combining the slime and their clay/add ins. I particularly love this as I didn’t have to figure out which item belonged to which or miss an add in because of excitement getting the better of me.
There were a couple of free slime samples and some candies/toys included as well as generous amounts of borax in powder form. For me, the ASMR begins upon the opening the box and this shop absolutely nailed that experience!
The labels are waterproof which is a big deal for me. Not just because I don’t want the slime to ruin them but because I wipe down literally everything that comes into contact with my play area, my hands or the slime with lab grade disinfectant wipes to prevent any contamination prior to getting started. This includes the outside of the pots (yes I totally am a germaphobe!)
Here’s what I took out the box:
Another shot.
Another Shot. It was so pretty!
Another Shot.
One more, it was so pretty!
This slime comes with a little pot of fudge chunks, caramel sauce and heart shaped chocolate sprinkles and is simply decadently gorgeous when assembled! The scent is utterly perfect, bang on warm, salted caramel. My brain kept incessantly chanting “food? Have a taste!” at me. I told my brain to shut up and my husband very kindly picked up a real sticky toffee pudding for me to prevent an awkward emergency room visit where I had to explain my belly full of caramel scented glue LOL!
This slime was a perfectly activated, beautifully smooth, stretchy texture. Lots of ultra satisfying bubble pops and snaps. It was a good slime albeit a little thinner, smoother and less holdable/fluffy textured than your typical cloud dough. Ultimately this slime’s texture is an ideal match for its “flavour.” It didn’t inflate massively but a little portion ended up in a deli tub so I could close the container with ease.
Here is it when first opened.
Here it is assembled.
Here it is fluffed up.
Another beautifully presented slime with little chopped strawberry pieces and heart sprinkles already in the tub. The smell was definitely strawberries and cream and very pleasant but not quite as punchy as the salted caramel. It was very similar to the above in texture and qualities.
Here it is when first opened.
Here it is after a little poking in the pot.
Here it is fluffed up.
This slime was the only one in a PET pot so there were some sticking issues that popped my little dopamine bubble for just a sec. The other pots were PP which was appreciated! I have a real thing for ice cream style sprinkles in slimes, the fact you can’t feel them (I’m not much of a bingsu fan) but can spot them as an ever changing cascade of cute colours as you play is so satisfying to me!
The scent of this slime was a little lacklustre, I couldn’t really detect anything identifiable. The description stated tutti fruity and I guess I got a slight hint of that when I really huffed it but it wasn’t particularly notable. Another well made slime, perfectly activated (though it needed a little spritz to take back the stickiness as it inflated.) It inflated more than the previous slimes and had a slightly smoother, dryer feel so perhaps there is a bit more snow or clay in the recipe.
Here it is first opened.
Here it is fluffed up.
A pic of the spread.
This slime more than made up for the lacklustre scent of the previous and, be still my heart, more SPRINKLES! YES! The cloud dough texture was again similar to the strawberries and cream and the salted caramel but a little looser and less inflatable. I was actually able to put it back in its original pot without any split off. A nice slime with a superb and faithful sugar cookie scent but not quite a true cloud dough.
Here it is first opened and assembled.
Here it is fluffed up.
This came with a scoop of clay ice cream, caramel sauce and sprinkles (BRING IT ON with the sprinkles!) The scent was a mild vanilla that got stronger as I played with it, more on the floral end of vanilla than ice cream style vanilla. Very pretty when assembled! Lovely brightly coloured sprinkles. Nice spongy squish on the clay. Fairly sticky once combined, needed quite a lot of activator. More of a slay than a butter in terms of spreadability, it remained pretty loose and didn’t hold much at all. Perfect vanilla colour. A little bit of inflation and obvious size increase considering the clay add in, which called for a second container. Not the most in the way of pops and it provided quiet finger pokes. A decent slime but not one I’d rush to buy again.
Here it is first opened.
Here it is assembled. It looks gorgeous!
Fluffed up.
The cookie pieces were already in the slime and it came with an Oreo charm separately. Absolutley Awesome cookie scent. Again a bit sticky and needing activator but much less than the vanilla scoop. Soft finger pokes. Nice stretchy texture. Very similar in texture to the vanilla scoop with just a little more hold.
First opened.
Fluffed up.
Beautiful lavender scent that gets stronger as you play, never overwhelming but very relaxing, I got sleepy LOL! Stunning lavender purple colour. A bit foamy on top but that went away instantly when I started playing, no stickiness like the last few butters. My dopamine receptors started whirring as soon as I started kneading and stretching this one. Perfect texture, good stretch and well activated, albeit again less spreadability than you’d expect in a typical butter. Good finger pokes and pops.
I wasn’t sold on the idea of lavender at first but now I so am! I was so relaxed LOL! I would want to try other company’s lavenders now but would certainly consider buying this slime again unless other lavender slimes wow’d me more. A little inflation but not a major amount. I was just about able to get it back in this pot with a tiny pinch in a secondary pot.
First opened.
Fluffed up.
This slime comes with an awesome neopolitan clay ice cream scoop and chocolate sprinkles. I was getting a Neapolitan scent (strawberry, chocolate and vanilla) it’s pretty nice but the vanilla fragrance this company uses does have that slight floral tinge to it. I’m fussy about my vanilla fragrances and prefer sweet and creamy to floral. None the less I was also picking up the other Neopolitan flavours which made for an interesting profile.
Nice, spongy squish on the clay. Needed a little activator but mixed together well without too much stickiness. I personally love the dusty rose colour it became when combined (so THATS how you make dusty rose! Thank you slime for bolstering my colour theory knowledge!) Good stretch, decent finger pokes and pops. Fair bit of inflation on this one being a clay combo, more than the vanilla scoop. Bigger second container needed for the extra.
Here it is first opened.
Here it is assembled. So cute!
Here it is fluffed up.
This slime comes with a pink clay waffle, sauce and colourful sprinkles. Sadly there was a small hair in the sauce as you can see in the pic below. Mild waffle scent that wasn’t that exciting but certainly not bad and an absolutely beautiful baby blue colour to the slime that combined to a super cute ultra light lilac/soft powder blue colour. The clay was a tiny bit rubbery but combined well. Quiet finger pokes and decent pops.
Here it is first opened.
Here it is assembled.
Here it is fluffed up.
CUSTOM MADE SLIME- pastel coconut cloud dough with green glitter.
This was a custom slime for me and smelled GREAT! Coconuts on a tropical beach spring to mind. I had requested a blue cloud slime with green iridescent glitter (my favourite) and the seller went above and behind dolling it up for me with mostly gorgeous pearly green glitter but also a pinch of pink and purple glitter. I love it! when I saw this seller did custom slimes I asked for a cloud slime but she told me that, due to the cost of fake snow, she could only offer a cloud dough. This texture was much more faithful to a cloud dough with much more hold. Little finger pokes and pops and no activator needed at all. Zero stickiness. I also got the same custom slime in a vanilla scent and it was just the same but the coconut scent reigned supreme. I’d love another custom slime from this seller.
Here it is first opened.
After a little swirling in the pot.
Fluffed up. You can see it has a lot more hold and is a true cloud dough.
All in all I am very impressed with Slime Screwball. If you wish to purchase slime as a gift for someone look no further, the presentation was absolutely 5 star, a truly impressive and lovely effort. The slimes were all very decent and fun to play with with fabulous scents and a stunning aesthetic. If I only had UK companies to choose from, this shop would get repeat business from me for sure!
The downside for me was the hair in the slime but accidents do happen. I also have no idea whether this shop uses gloves. If I were pressed to say something negative I would say that they have perhaps opted to put a little more budget into packaging, pots and nice scents than ingredients resulting in a little less snow and clay in slimes than I would prefer (also I was disappointed by the lack of a true cloud slime in the store) but this certainly doesn’t mean their slimes aren’t very well made, beautiful, quality slimes none the less. If you are in the UK looking for great slime that will make you super happy as soon as you open the box, this store this store is definitely worth a try!

2024.04.07 05:26 Dependent-Engine6882 [PI] Flavors of Love

This is a response to a CW Describe a dish without naming it or any of its ingredients.

As the first notes of Barber’s adagio echoed in Rebecca’s small kitchen, she put on her apron and grabbed her chef knife. Humming along to the melody of one of her favorite classical music pieces, she finely chopped four cloves of garlic.
The beam of sunlight coming from the balcony bathed the kitchen in a soft, golden light. Along with the pastel green and light wood tones, it looked like one of those dreamy kitchens found in home decor magazines.
Since she received a message from Marc, her boyfriend, letting her know that he would be home around 7 p.m. earlier that day, she had been in an excellent mood.
The faint sound of olive oil sizzling when she added the garlic to the pan blended perfectly with the slow melody filling the air.
As soon as she received that message, she knew what she would make for dinner. The menu was composed while she was preparing to leave for the local farmer’s market.
She was planning to serve pumpkin soup, Marc’s favorite, with grilled cheese and garlic bread. As a main course, she made a cordon bleu accompanied by Dijon mustard velouté and sauteed mushrooms. As for the salade niçoise, she only needed to add the dressing before serving the meal. And now she was making the last dish.
The moment she popped open the homemade tomato sauce glass container, the smell of tomatoes mixed with chili pepper and bay leaves tickled her senses. It reminded her of Nina, her late grandmother, and the summers she spent at her grandparents’ farm in the south. Although Nina was no longer here, she could still feel her comforting presence whenever she made one of her recipes.
Once the garlic gained a golden-brown color, she poured the sauce and gently stirred. She then added basil leaves before sprinkling seasoning, some paprika, ground ginger, and the mix of herbs she bought from Lyon during her last trip a couple of months ago.
By the time she covered the pan, Elgar’s Nimrod was playing. While peeling the two eggplants she had grilled earlier in the afternoon, she recalled all the times Marc and she clumsily slow danced to that music in the middle of their living room.
She then diced the vegetables while waiting for the sauce to simmer after she added some liquid cream. Remembering Marc’s jokes about how she only measured the ingredients when she was baking and went ‘chaos mode’ when cooking, she let out a peal of joyful laughter.
The timer went off when she was about to add the diced eggplants. The smell of fresh bread filled the kitchen the instant she opened the oven. A satisfied grin brightened her face as she set the baking dish on the countertop. After that, she added the diced eggplants and put back the pan’s lid.
Waiting for the bread to cool down, she chopped some parsley before she started setting the table.
Smoothing the fabric of the ivory and cherry red table runner she got from her grandmother, she glanced at the clock. Marc should be home in less than two hours. After mentally checking the tasks on her to-do list, she concluded that she had enough time to get ready before he arrived. Quickly, she set the dishes and the cutlery, then sliced the sourdough bread and grilled it after spreading a generous amount of garlic butter and topping it with mozzarella.
Once the eggplants absorbed the tomato sauce and the spices, she poured it into a clay dish before topping it with parsley and some parmesan.
About an hour later, dressed in a strapless burgundy dress, Rebecca inspected the table that she set for her lover, feeling satisfied.

Thank you for reading my story, crits and feedback are always appreciated.

2024.03.30 18:05 solostinlost Ukrop’s rainbow cookie recipe?

Here’s the deal. I’m allergic to gluten and the Ukrop’s rainbow cookie craving is at an all time high for me. Probably something about easter and pastel colors. I’m not afraid of baking my own stuff with GF ingredients, so if anyone has the recipe, I would be so eternally grateful.

2024.03.27 13:24 _butterfli_ Newbie questions!

Hello all, I am still very new to this game, and I have a few questions- - what are the mining settlements for? I have two but I don’t seem to be using the rocks collected for anything at all! - what are the pastel colourful rocks in the ground for? I can’t delete them like normal rocks? - Just unlocked the shaman, what do they do and any advice? All the cards related to the shaman look complicated with recipes and gathering or something!
If anyone has any advice I’d be grateful :)

2024.03.21 22:20 leesooim Putty Egg FULL Sailor Moon Drop Review (Almost)!

Putty Egg FULL Sailor Moon Drop Review (Almost)!
So Sailor Moon was my gateway anime show. I loved it back in the day, loved the manga. I don't especially enjoy it anymore because now I'm old and it irritates me (lol), but I still hold a fondness for it and when I saw Putty Egg did a Sailor Moon themed drop, I dove in and bought ALL of them except for Sailor Chibi Moon and The Summer, the Beach, Youth and Ghosts because those 2 were sold well before I placed my order.
PROS: These are all crunch bombs. Nothing smooth, tng or creamy and squishy here. Highly inflatable for the most part. These are all actually rehomed into cast off 6 oz Parkway 83 mm jars from previous rehomed slimes because the size Putty Egg used is for 4 oz slime, to the top it's probably closer to 5 oz. Anyway. Extremely gorgeous! The add ins were just beautiful between all the micro glitter, fimos, faceted diamond shaped beads, fimos and glitter (I got glitter EVERYWHERE). Very unique with candy shakers included with a lot that held the glittery, sparkly add ins and tiny little diamonds. The amount of add ins was very, very generous for every slime except Tuxedo Mask - he didn't really need any jewels or glitter tbh lol. Most are light to medium strength fruity scents and if they aren't fruity, it's simply unscented. Only one outright didn't smell good to me.
CONS: Some had extremely thin, runny, literally free-flowing bases that the instant I added a squirt, not even 1/4 tsp of activator, caused fallout and made the glue get weird and tense like plastic wrap, but then melted again the next day. A few were over-activated, this pertained primarily to the slimes using silica - just gonna let those melt on their own. Most were under activated but NOT free flowing and responded better to small amounts of activator being added. Honestly a lot of these got better after I stuck them in my slime cooler (beverage cooler, but only has slime in it lol). I know it was a lot of characters to get through too, and I commend them for tackling this, but quite a few are exactly the same and you could definitely get away with just ordering ONE to get the experience. And while all of these are clear based, they seemed like they used different bases? Or they are all the same recipe shipped in different states of activation to me, but they all did not respond to activator the same way either. It was really weird. And one I think is beyond saving, and safe to say the beads just didn't work with their base.
OVERALL? I would recommend these with reservation. Currently you can get 20% off with the code "moon20". Sailor Saturn, Tuxedo Mask and Moon Kaleidoscope are my favorites. Super pretty aesthetic and I think they nailed what Sailor Moon was to a lot of little girls in a slime - jewels, sparkle, bright colors. But the base was just not working well for a handful of them. It makes me hesitant to want to try any other clear based crunch bombs that use bead or cabachon add ins in the future. However, their packaging was nice, the slimes arrived intact, not exploded, no leaks and they were very generous with their extras, including 2 free full size extra slimes (got Luna and a Valentine DIY with a wax-topped croissant for free) in each of my orders, with extra fimos and stickers galore! I think Putty Egg has great potential, but maybe this drop with so many crunch bombs made them spread themselves out too much. Adding activator is not an easy fix either, since the slime seems to melt by the next day, and I don't keep my house warm (68 F). 6.5/10 overall for the collection, 10/10 for Sailor Saturn, 8/10 for Tuxedo Mask, 8/10 for Moon Kaleidoscope!
Onto the nitty gritty per slime...
Sailor Moon - pink everywhere, square flat jewels, heart jewels, diamonds, glitter, crescent wand. Honestly it's quite a pretty, nearly neon shade of pink and pleasantly scented. This one was OK out of the box, still a bit sticky.
Sailor Mercury & Cosmos & Artemis - the two Sailor slimes are blue and the base appears blue, but I'm pretty sure it's not colored. Pretty glitter, diamonds, stamoon fimos and flat back plain/jeweled cabachons. Only difference between the two Sailor slimes is Cosmos has the addition of larger mirror back sparkly cabachon gems. Artemis uses the exact same small flat back plain/jeweled cabachons as the Sailors, just in baby blue and pale pink with glitter.
Sailor Venus/JupiteUranus & Neptune - silica crunch with slight variations between the 3. Uranus & Neptune were given a multicolored pastel wing charm and cute opaque star beads as a topper, but Jupiter and Venus are both with sun/moon/jewel fimos and white wing charms. Venus also had a touch of bingsu added while Jupiter had smooth round green beads added to the silica. Uranus & Neptune also seemed to use a thinner, stickier clear base than the other 2, which are the opposite and feel overactivated.
Queen Beryl/Luna/Sailor Mars - Almost exactly the same, differences are more red jewels added to Beryl while Luna has a pretty magenta colored base (Beryl's is slightly tinted pink, and I don't know if that was intentional or due to the add ins bleeding). Mars just doesn't have either of those things, primarily just the small flat square jewel beads and the stamoon fimos with wing charm like the rest of the Sailor Scouts. Beryl is probably my favorite of the 3 because it really is beautiful and you can see the beads better since the base is more clear, but Luna smells delicious. Mars inflates a ton. All 3 were a bit underactivated.
Crystal Star - sugar scrub x small square jewel bead x thick wing fimo. Fairly unique compared to the rest, lots of beautiful shard glitter for an add on with micro glitter and a large heart charm topper. However, extremely overactivated and not that pleasant smelling at all.
Fruits Parlor Crown - This was crystal clear upon receipt, and it practically RAN onto the table when I went to play with it. It left what I call slime cobwebs on my fingers when I tried to pull away quickly. I added activator and it did that weird thing where it seized up like plastic wrap and had massive fallout of the chunky, colorful fruits at first, but after a few days and sitting in the fridge, it's now a lot better. Requires slow, slow stretching and gentle squeezing, otherwise definitely fallout.
Crystal Power - beautiful chunk iridescent beads in the shape of stars, orbs, hearts with pastel centers, iridescent glitter and a clear base. Sadly, so pretty, but it was the worst. It was so sticky, like Fruits Parlor, but activating causes massive fallout. Leaving it in the cooler causes massive fallout. Playing with it at room temperature results in slime spiderwebs all over your hands. It's a shame.
Tuxedo Mask - Fimo crunch bomb with a pretty rose charm. This was one a clear, thick base lightly tinted blue, again whether by design or bleeding, I don't know. I've never had a fimo crunch bomb before, so I really like this one a lot, such a unique feel. A bit overactivated. He didn't come with any other add ins, but he doesn't need 'em!
Moon Kaleidoscope - Super cute, crystal clear base with ultra chunky jewel faceted spheres, cylinders, smooth open rings and I guess it's glitter? But it's not sparkly, it's matte colored pastel circles that honestly added the most awesome fun pops of color. Another one that was underactivated and went a little weird, but now is much better after a few days and slime cooler time. Holds the beads better than Fruits Parlor Crown, but still don't recommend being aggressive.
Sailor Saturn - my favorite! Purple with seed beads and sequins throughout. Like the other sailors she also came with stamoon fimos, glitter and a white wing charm. Very unique feeling and inflates a lot.
See the cute little candy shakers? This pic includes all the extras they gave me with my order that contained the second half of the sailors.
The entire collection minus 2 that were out of stock when I ordered.
Clockwise from top: Sailor Saturn, Sailor Uranus & Neptune, Sailor Mercury, Sailor Venus, Sailor Mars, Artemis and Sailor Moon in the middle
Sailor Saturn decorated!
Queen Beryl & Luna in front, Sailor Mercury & Sailor Cosmos in back
Sailor JupiteVenus/Neptune & Uranus = silica crunch bomb with slight variations
Tuxedo Mask (far L) - thick fimo crunch bomb
Crystal Star - sugar scrub, flat square jewel, thick wing fimo
Sailor Saturn - seed bead and sequin
Moon Crystal - chunky iridescent beads, Moon Kaleidoscope - chunky orbs, rings, cylinders, glitter, Fruits Parlor Crown - fruit charms and thick fruit fimo slices

2024.03.21 04:29 Knightlee_hart Artic Fox matcha green color

Artic Fox matcha green color
Looking for input, reviews, and color result of the following two ways to obtain a matcha green color using this brand.
  1. I've found an exclusive color of Artic Fox only available on Sally's beauty shop called pistachio macaron pastel (along with an exclusive peach and blue pastel color). I've tried searching everywhere but nothing is coming up except the link back to Sally's (no mention on artic foxs' official site) and a bunch of recipes for actual pistachio macarons. I'm weary if this is legit and even exists but if I went this route it would cut my expenses down by half if I go with choice 2. image posted and link below https://www.sallybeauty.com/shop-by-shade/the-bright-hair-shop/pistachio-macaron-pastel-hour-semi-permanent-hair-coloSBS-019505.html
  2. I saw a video posted by Artic Fox on FB showing a mixology video to create a matcha green color, mixing equal parts space cowgirl and periwinkle, and then adding a small amount of the artic mist diluter and blue jean baby. I already own blue jean baby but would need to order the rest.
https://www.facebook.com/ArcticFoxHairColovideos/1485639062361744/?mibextid=Nif5oz
Let me know if anyone has tried either of these things! thanks!
