2024.05.15 00:25 rainbows-and-gravy Boomer twice attaches his mailbox to a tree on my property, even after post office and police get involved

Sorry, it’s a long read. I have an update to a boomer being a fool story to share that happened today! I wrote about it a couple months back on a different sub, in case this story seems familiar. But then I deleted it, as I shared a lot of info in the comments and I don’t know if the boomer has Reddit.
Anyway, so I have owned my own home for 5 years and the boomer has owned his home since the 1990’s. The way mailboxes work where I live is the post lady only delivers to one side of the road. It makes her route twice as efficient as I understand it. Everyone who lives on the opposite side of the street has two choices. Dig a hole and place the post in the ground on the opposite side of the road or place a post in a 5 gallon bucket on the opposite side of the road.
There are four mailboxes on the side of my property, as my property is an acre (my box and three more boxes that belong to people living across the street). For the last five years, not a single issue, everyone’s box was either in a bucket or in the ground on a pole.
For reasons I don’t understand, while I was outside, I see boomer across the street messing with his mailbox in my yard. I didn’t have my glasses on, and I can’t see very far without them. So he’s looking at me, but doesn’t say anything. I go on with my day, forgetting all about it. The next time I go outside, I notice that what he was doing was attaching his mailbox to a 75 foot tree on my property. Mailbox was on a pole, that was in a 5 gallon bucket and some cement keeping the bucket firmly standing upright. He put that entire thing in my yard by about 12 feet, attached it to my enormous tree with two tightly attached bungie cords at the top and the bottom. So he could have asked my permission first, but chose not to. I don’t know the guy, but we would cordially wave to each other in the past.
And in addition to this, I notice all the trees in that area (all on my property) have green x’s spray painted on them. Like six trees total. I looked up and noticed the main electrical line for the entire neighborhood goes right through all those trees, including the one he’s attached his mailbox on. The spray painted x’s mean that the electric company has those trees slated to be cut down. This is because I live in a high fire zone and so the electric company is going around cutting down all the trees that could be a danger. I can’t see if the tree he’s attached his mailbox to has an X or not, since he’s tightly got the entire thing covered.
So, I call the post master and file a complaint to have his post office box removed from my property, as in the United States, it’s against the law to tamper with other mailboxes, regardless of where they are located. Post master calls me back and explains that they’re no longer delivering his mail due to the box being located on my property. He tells me that if the post lady gets injured trying to deliver his mail, I would be liable for her medical bills because she was hurt on my property. The post master said when the boomer comes in bitching at the post office that he’s no longer receiving mail, he’ll be told that he must remove it from my property. The post master tells me not to touch the box, but says the sheriff can remove it if I call them.
So I wait a while, to see if it’ll resolve itself without escalating it. Weeks pass, he’s not receiving mail anymore, but doesn’t seem to care or notice. I finally decide to call the sheriff as the electric company had come out to remove all the trees with x’s on them, but left without doing any of it, which made me realize he possibly has his box connected to a tree that also needs to be removed.
So the sheriff comes out and she says she won’t remove the box, but that I’m allowed to remove it from my property while she watches (which I also recorded for my own documentation). The entire transaction is like 2-3 minutes. When I move it, I realize his entire setup stands on its own just fine, without being attached to the tree in my yard. So sheriff tells me she’s going to try and find the guy’s phone number so at least he’ll know why he’s not receiving mail anymore. I had actually tried to find his number too, before calling the sheriff, as I don’t feel comfortable going up to his door as a single woman. The tax assessor gave me his info, including his address, which is listed as a P.O. Box three miles away! Meaning he’s not even using his mailbox, which is likely why he hasn’t noticed no mail being delivered. Anyway, I leave a voicemail politely asking him to remove his box from my property before calling the sheriff, but I have no idea if it was actually his number.
So I thank the Sheriff for her help and go back inside. Then I see on cam, as soon as I went inside, he went running out to speak with the Sheriff. I can’t hear their conversation, but can see it perfectly and his arms are flaring as he’s losing his damn mind over having his box moved. He stands there yelling at the sheriff for exactly 12 minutes. She’s just politely nodding her head the whole time. And then as soon as she leaves, he goes over to another neighbor’s house and arms flaring with very angry body language and lots of pointing at the mailbox, he talks to that neighbor for another 20 minutes. Then he leaves, which I’m assuming was to go yell at the post office 3 miles away.
Oh, also wanted to mention that when I removed the mailbox from my tree, sure enough, he intentionally covered up the green spray painted X on the tree with his mailbox!
So that should have been the end of it. Instead, today I look outside my window and I see this idiot boomer reattaching his mailbox to my property again. This is all so ridiculous and annoying to me, that I just snapped at that point and so I opened my window and yelled out “get off my property, you and your mailbox, you’re trespassing.” And he starts yelling something with flailing arms again, but I can’t hear him from that far away…so I go, “I can’t hear you way up there, I don’t want to discuss it, just remove you property from my property right fucking now or I’ll call the police and file a trespassing report.” So then, I can see him on camera, he takes his mailbox on the pole back across to his side of the street, he digs a hole and places his mailbox at least 12 feet into his own yard. Meaning, they won’t deliver it there either of course, as now it’s on the wrong side of the road and it’s in the grass 12 feet inward on his property when it must be on the side of the road to be in compliance.
For the last five years, it was just fine in the bucket on a pole, on my side of the road, not on my property. And every other house does it properly, which he can see as well! And he’s lived here since the 90’s, knowing how things work. This is just so insane to me! All this drama over what?!? Like he’s so entitled that he gets to just use my property, without asking my permission, even with the post master telling him no? Even with the Sheriff involved? Guy is nearly 80, has to be long retired. Did he just get bored or what? I don’t understand boomers at all.
TLDR: Without asking me first, boomer (who lives across the street from me) decides to attach his mailbox to a tree on my property.

2024.05.14 21:27 blueberry_dinosaur_ How can I improve her enclosure

I recently bought a new vivarium for my bearded dragon, she was in an 80 gallon and I just gor her a 140 gallon for her 1 year b day, I noticed that now some of her hides are too small and or broken (small cracks I dont want her making bigger and getting pinched) she has a branch that reaches all 3 walls of the enclosure starting in the middle, she has a food/water bowls, she has a 40-30% 60-70% mix of sand and top soil, she has 1 hide rn (half a log hollowed out that is big enough fir her to tunr around in) and I have the proper lighting I spent a couple hours researching that and she also has some fake greenery on the back wall of her enclosure, but recently she's been jumping at the walls and scratching at the glass I let her out all the time but I just don't know what to do.
Any help is appreciated

2024.05.14 19:50 elessartelcontarII Seeking component help

This might not actually be the right sub for my question, but I have a trek f400 navigator (20in folder) that I want a rear rack for, and I'm not really sure what I need to look for on paper to make sure it will do what I want. It needs to fit with the fenders attached and without hindering the bike's ability to fold up, and I need to have some way to carry goods on it- at the very least, I need the capacity for a gallon jug and a bag of groceries.
Does anyone have ideas off the top of their head? If not, are there particular things that might tell me whether some given rack will suit my needs? For instance, I see several proprietary racks for folding bikes, and I'm not sure if they will fit other brands or not.

2024.05.14 16:21 gbarnas Sudden print failure - bed adhesion?

Sudden print failure - bed adhesion?
I'm looking for some thoughts on this print problem that suddenly arose yesterday.
For context, I have an X1C with two AMS units. AMS 1 has White, Gray, and Black PLA+ and Bambu Support, AMS 2 has Red, Blue, and Green PLA+. All PLA+ is from SUNLU. Currently using a 0.2mm hot end and a 0.1mm layer height (extra fine). This is a fairly slow print speed of 40mm/s for layer 1 and 60mm/s for other outer walls, 150mm/s inner walls.
I completed a print early in the day of "poker chips" using white, blue, and gray that printed perfectly. I wiped the plate with 99% IPA, then proceeded to print a collection of 5 small objects - HO-Scale details. The job was set up to print "by object" because they were different colors (each a single color) and the number of filament changes would otherwise be excessive. 6 fire hydrants - RED (2X5mm with PLA Support interface layer), 4 vending machines - RED (5X14X3mm), a Tardis - BLUE (12x12x24mm), and 55-gallon drums - BLACK (5x9mm w/ 4mm brim). The red and blue items printed perfectly but the black drums failed miserably with poor adhesion resulting in spaghetti. I cleaned the plate again, modified the project to include only the array of oil drums, and duplicated it. I placed the sets in opposite corners and set one to gray and the other to white, thinking that something was wrong with the black filament (not used in the prior job). I had the same results with the white and cancelled the job before starting the gray. See the photo for the plate and the detail of the drums. Red lines indicate issues. The head was dragging a small clump of spaghetti around while printing which probably removed the bases from the objects center and right side.
What has me wondering is that the white and gray printed perfectly during the prior job, and the same job had no issues with other colors. I also tried my textured PEI plate and had similar results with poor adhesion.
Print temp (based on a temp tower) is 225C, bed is 65C first layer, 55C remaining layers, and no part cooling for first layer. Top glass is open (also tried with top removed), door is closed, cabinet fan is 20%. Both AMS units have 4 Desiccant trays and a hydrometer showing 12% RH and 71F for the AMS over the printer and 12% / 69F for the one on the side. The room is 70F and 47% RH and this is a finished basement room, temp is consistently 68-70F and 45-50% RH.
This job was stopped after layer 4, which means that each of the 25 brims (which look fine) should have the base of the drums like the ones on the left. A few brims show mild poor adhesion but that's because the plate cooled overnight and flexed slightly when removing it to take the picture. The two bases on the top-left are lifting, bottom left has excess filament.

2024.05.14 15:55 Puzzleheaded-Try7398 Lighting for 6ft 120 gallon?

Lighting for 6ft 120 gallon?
I recently upgraded my tank from 60 to 120 gallons. I currently have 2 blue/white led units that came with the tank, as well as a 36” global 3.0 from my old tank.
My problem is that it just doesn’t seem adequate. I have a lot of dark areas. This is partly because, unlike my old tank, the 120 has a glass top that the lights rest directly on.
I would like to redo my lighting, but am a bit overwhelmed by options.
My tank is planted with discus.
Thanks!

2024.05.14 08:53 Ok_Duck_9338 Reached the Goal. Better, cheaper faster.

This is not a recipe, it is a narration of materials and techniques used. Started with 1.5 lb of corn meal and a box if Mexican imitation cheerios made with oats and wheat. Added water to one gallon an half a tsp of Angel Blue Label Baiju Yeast. 3 days later I added 6 llb of brown sugar and a banana, plus some fermentation hooch with Voss Kveik and water to 5 gallons. Hit a cold snap and transferred it to 2 and 3 gallon containers. Put the 2 gallon jug on a catering warming plate where it slowlycrept to 90+ Fahrenheit. . Within 48 or maybe 30 hours it went from 1.030 to 0.992 [no temp correction]. It had no real off tastes and a kveik flavor. Someone posted about fast. This will finish fast if it is done straight without the waiting around. Around 10% abv.

Please help! Advanced fin rot:(
I have had this male mustard betta for a little over a year now and he was doing great until recently (the first picture is him now, the second was him a little over a month ago). I go to college and being in a dorm room I had him in a 4 gallon bio orb tank near my lofted bed. One night I accidentally knocked something off of my bed and it went straight down onto his tank and shattered the glass. I was terrified so I ran down the ladder to get to him. Luckily I found him on the floor and set him up in a smaller tank until I could find a replacement. For how long he was out of the water, I was shocked he survived but he seemed to be doing okay apart from some stress. I tried to keep his water as clean as possible for the next few days, frequently doing water changes, and he seemed to be doing okay. He was still eating and swimming around the tank like his usual self but, when I went to move out of my dorm for the summer I noticed his tail looked a little torn up and I immediately started googling fin rot. I am not entirely new to the beta fish community but this is the first fish I have completely on my own so I wasn’t sure what to do. I ended up setting up a small hospital tank for him, took out the decorations he could hurt himself on and added a bubbler and heater to it. I bought API Melafix to treat him and have been dosing his water for about a week, along with giving him higher protein food and adding almond leaves for extra tannins. It has been about a week now and I have seen no improvements, actually it seems like he is getting worse. After a week of treating him it recommended doing a 50% water change, so I did that today and I found a piece of his fin at the bottom of the tank. I am very worried about him and not sure how else I can help. Please any advice would be appreciated.

2024.05.14 07:05 Arabeariee Advice on Gardening

Hello ! I live in the Dallas area and want to get into gardening. Last year I started a tiny set up using gallon jugs, potting soil, fertilizer, and got some starter plants. Sadly the plants I did get didn't produce much at all - I had multiple types of tomatoes each in their own pot. Alot of them didn't survive the heat when we had multiple weeks of 110+ temps. Is there anything I can do to keep them alive when the weather is that hot? Any advice on getting tomato plants to produce more? Also how to figure out a watering schedule/maybe a automatic watering system (I see them on Amazon and am tempted to try it) Any general tricks/tips for gardening? Also lastly any recommended vegetable plants that do well in the 100+ degree weather?

2024.05.14 04:32 Rjcoleman1 Godson gift - A question on long term storage and infinity bottle

Hi all,
I am contemplating a gift idea for my best friend and his soon to be born son and wanted to tap into your expertise.
The idea is to start an infinity bottle in his son’s honor, with the goal of contributing to it once a year. The rough thinking is to buy a bottle of whiskey once a year around his birthday, and drink 1/3-1/2 of the bottle together (me and my best friend), and contribute the other half to the infinity bottle. Then, on his son’s 21st birthday we can tap into the infinity bottle and begin to drink it down / continue it.
I liked the concept because it is a gift that would bring us all together and would represent the continued relationship and long term commitment.
Any pitfalls or any reason why this would be a bad idea from a whiskey storage perspective? Though we’d probably not drink bad whiskey, I’m less concerned on taste and more focused on sentiment / ensuring it doesn’t go bad / oxidize.
I estimate I’d need an airtight glass ~2-3 gallon bottle for this exercise.
Curious if anyone has done something similar or has expertise relevant to this! Thanks in advance.

Day 10 and going strong!
I have had some tough stuff thrown at me this last week/weekend, but I didn't even THINK about drinking.
I have changed the route I take to work. I changed my break time routine at work. I have dinner plans ready each night, so there's no excuse to step out.
I got a jug to drink water from all day. I'm drinking about a gallon of water a day. I'm eating each meal, each day.... even if it's a "girl lunch/dinner"... I'm making sure to get leafy greens and lots of protein and something sweet bc I can.
I'm so glad I found this group! Your posts keep me going and keep my head on straight. Thank you all!

2024.05.14 02:44 Remote_Year3642 Help! Well water and swimming pool chemicals

Help! Well water and swimming pool chemicals
So we manage (as volunteers) a 160,000 gallon residential pool. We have a well that we fill with. It’s basically an endless supply of water as I can drain and fill 3 times in less than two weeks.
Our problem is we have a few leaks (we are still actively locating through a third party company) and lose about 2” of water a night. I’m not looking for information on the leaks right now but mainly the following problem.
I have everything perfectly balanced and within the suggested limits for all chemicals, other than my cyanuric acid is extremely low and my phosphate level was a little high but just treated that last week and are in normal range below 100 PPB. Low cyanuric was intentional as a test to see if it played a part in our issue.
With that said, every time I add the well water, which is every morning right now, the water turns a deep green. Not an algae green per se but more of a “metallic” green for lack of better word. We battled this last year and somehow we just stopped having the issue after a while and I can’t remember what we did differently.
Currently, when the water turns green (starts in the deep end where the well water is being added) it takes about an hour from start of adding new water for a perfectly crystal blue pool to turn fully green.
I’ve taken multiple water samples for testing from the clear, the green, the well water itself, the backwash water etc. all of them show virtually non existent metal content. However, when I use sc 1000, the water clears up the next day. But as soon as I add well water it’s back to green. Also, if I add a lb of vitamin c, the pool turns back clear blue within 15 mins. You can watch it turn, but again, when I add water it turns back green.
I gutted the pump room this year and went from 4 DE filters to 4 glass media filters. We are also running a pulsar auto feeder with calcium hypo brickets feeding the pool. We took out our tricolor feeders and no longer use tablets.
With using the sc1000, the CL has been low due to it zapping it but not below a 2. When I was bringing the chemicals up initially I put shock in and it turned the pool green within an hour.
Does anyone have any insights? If I’ve left something out I’m happy to elaborate, we have tried so many things lately and just not sure what to do next.
The green pictures were taken before I vacuumed. I vacuumed and then put in vitamin C and took this blue pictures 25 mins after it was as green as the pictures.

2024.05.14 02:04 Free-Mistake814 Rabbit snail babies/egg sacs

Rabbit snail babies/egg sacs
My sister got a rabbit snail for her 10 gallon beta tank about two months ago. She laid her first egg sac within the first week and she just does not stop. We notice either new snails or new egg sacs every day! We’ve only seen 2 empty shells, but we also have a lot of greenery that either the life snails are hiding in, or possibly empty shells are being hidden from our view. We’ve been fine and have accepted our fate that she will probably have a lot of snails in the future until today. When we came home today we noticed 4 new egg sacs on the glass and were examining pretty closely. There are at least 10 teeny tiny babies and there are egg sacs all over the tank! Are these all from her or could the first round already be mature enough to lay eggs? Will it ever stop? Will the babies eat the other eggs? Any answers and advice will be helpful! Pictured: momma snail, egg sacs on glass, egg sacs on rock, the largest baby we have, and two teeny babies on the blue chair, which also has an egg sac on it.

2024.05.14 01:37 Queasy_Education2852 Not Conditioning My Water Properly?

Not Conditioning My Water Properly?
I have a 10 gallon fully-cycled tank. I usually do weekly water changes on Sundays.
Because of the location of my tank in my small apartment, I have gotten into the habit of filling a 5-gallon water jug after every water change, treating it with water conditioner (e.g. Seachem Prime) and tucking it away until it's time for a water change the following Sunday.
Although I always knew that water conditioner doesn't actually remove toxins like chlorine (it only binds them), it recently came to my attention that this "bindng" effect only lasts for a limited time.
My question: If water conditioner only "binds" and mitagates toxicity for a "limited time"(?), does it make sense to store treated water for use at a later date? Basically, is the water I'm treating at the beginning of the week becoming "unbinded" (toxic) by the time I use it for my water change 6 days later? Am I only supposed to treat the water once I'm ready to put it in the tank?

2024.05.14 01:20 JamFranz My boyfriend hasn't been the same since we went on vacation

If I hadn’t drunk an entire gallon of tea back at the hotel, maybe none of this would’ve happened.
Well, maybe if we hadn’t gotten kicked out of the hotel, none of this would’ve happened.
It had been just the two of us in the small car, but with the animosity heavy on the air, it felt overcrowded. I don’t know what had been worse, the hour of arguing, the two hours of silence afterwards, or the burgeoning realization that maybe I didn’t know him as well as I thought I did.
I studied him out of the corner of my eye. We'd been together for several months, but the recent experience left me wondering if I had ever even met the real Brian – who he truly was on the inside.
It had been our very first trip together.
We'd saved up for one of those super fancy hotels and had been having a great time – until, of course, Brian decided to attempt a five-finger discount in the jewelry store in the lobby.
He'd told me when we first started dating that he'd had some run-ins with the law in the past – when he was young and that was the only way to put food on the table, and I'd understood.
But this wasn't the same. It wasn't for survival, it was just greed.
We’d both spent the rest of our vacation money and then some, paying for that $1,800 watch so no charges would be pressed.
They still kicked us out. I don’t blame them.
Asking him to stop at the next place we came across was the first thing I'd said to him in hours, and he nodded, solemnly.
My discomfort was escalating to the point where I was considering asking him to pull over on the side of the road – rain be damned – when we saw the dim sign flickering in the distance.
The small store was out of place on the quiet, tree lined mountain road. We’d been deep in a tunnel of trees and hadn’t seen so much of a hint of the lights in the distance – it seemed to just appear into view as we went around the bend. I didn't recall seeing it on the way to the hotel, so it was a pleasant surprise.
I felt a flood of relief wash over me.
It stuck out in the otherwise beautiful mountain landscape – windows so dirty that the light inside barely reached us through them – several letters on the sign lit up in such a way that the only word we could even see was a blood red '- MART' flickering.
Any relief I'd managed to feel was short-lived.
When we walked in, we both froze as we took in the interior.
I instantly wished we’d just stopped by the side of the road after all. I looked at Brian and could tell he felt it too – he was fiddling with his new watch and took off his glasses, cleaned them on his shirt, and put them back on, as if that would make what he was seeing make more sense.
There were no other customers, no employees visible, it was just the two of us.
Ceiling tiles hung askew, and the floor was filthy – we had to step over a drain in the floor with grimy stains circling it, to walk in.
If it weren’t for the lights, gentle hum of the AC, and grinding sounds floating from down the long hallway at the back, I’d have thought the place was abandoned.
It was humid inside, and the smell coming from the old coolers that lined the back walls hit me as soon as we walked in. It reminded me of the summer my dad had decided to dabble in taxidermy in our basement.
The slight hint of rot that lingered on the damp air indicated poorly done taxidermy, at that.
As I darted towards the back towards the restroom sign, a placard dangling off it caught my eye, informed me the restroom was for paying customers only.
I quickly perused the shelves for something to buy. The aisles were tall, nearly to the ceiling, and despite the store being somewhat small, I felt the panicked sense of being cornered and trapped in an endless maze – at risk of becoming lost in there forever. The food on the shelves resembled nothing like the usual chips and candy these types of stores carried – there were rows upon rows of soft looking mystery items in plastic wrap, some of them leaked a red-brown residue down the shelves – none of it looked remotely appealing.
I passed by a section with a stained placard that said ‘handcrafted from local artists’ that was filled with eclectic items, none of which seemed to go together.
There were torn shirts with random logos – nothing related to the town or area we were in, stained with mud, grass, and god knows what else. Dried ropy things formed small and delicate sculptures of animals unlike any I’d seen before. I reached for a bracelet with intricately carved white beads but nearly dropped it when I realized the band was made up of woven human hair. It left a residue on my hand, and I noticed then that the same sour-rot smell was coming from the collection of items, too.
I opted for a flat and lukewarm Dr. Pepper instead, and placed two $2 dollar coins on the glass counter in front of the hand scrawled ‘shoplifters will be processed’ sign near the register.
I figured I misread it, after all it, looked like it had been written by a hand unused to holding a pen.
Brian had grabbed an armful of those unnerving plastic-wrapped packages but hovered at the counter a bit too long. I could hear the scrape of him retrieving the coins on the glass, the sound of him dropping them into his pocket.
He gave me a pointed stare as he did so.
I sighed, so tired of arguing that I just walked away from him and down the hallway. I figured I’d pay (again) after he got back in the car.
No sooner had I closed the door to the women’s room behind me, than I could hear him talking to someone.
His voice rose until he was nearly yelling. Mortified and trying to delay being involved in another incident that day, I splashed water on my face while trying to drown out what appeared to be a one-sided argument.
I kept trying to wash the grimy feeling that had lingered on my hands after picking up the bracelet, but no matter how I scrubbed, I couldn’t get it off – it kept getting worse.
I felt nauseous when I realized the greasy residue was coming from the pale-yellow bar of soap. I decided I’d scrub my hands raw at our next stop, and stepped out into the hall and back to the store.
Brian wasn’t there.
I called out for him, but all I heard in answer was that same vague whirring and drilling sound coming from further down the long hallway.
I double-backed to the car, but found it empty.
I circled the store, my frustration turning to panic as I shouted his name and still got no response.
I called his phone, it just rang, and rang before going to voicemail.
The car was locked and he had the keys, I couldn’t help but feel nervous, standing out there in the rain. We were still in the middle of the deep woods and with clouds obscuring the light of the moon and stars, the area was blanketed in darkness. I reluctantly headed back inside.
Somehow, the smell had managed to become even worse – I gagged when the wet, disgusting air hit my nose again. It was so strong I could nearly taste it, putrid on my tongue.
I couldn’t shake the feeling that there was always someone just behind me as I walked quickly through the tall aisles, but whenever I looked over my shoulder, there was never anything there.
I called his phone, wondering how I’d managed to lose him in such a small store when I finally heard it ringing – it was echoing from down that long hallway.
As I headed towards it, I heard someone moving on the other side of the floor-to-ceiling aisle, placing something onto the shelf with a sickening wet thud, before weaving lithely through the aisles behind me.
“Brian?” I called out softly, trying to convince myself that everything was fine – trying to disguise my fear.
I knew it wasn’t him – I don’t know how, but I knew it. Have you ever had the feeling that if you look closely enough at something, if you truly see it, you’ll never be able to close your eyes again without it haunting you? That feeling of being in close proximity to something that your fragile mind was never meant to know existed?
I forced myself to turn around anyways.
Once again, whoever or whatever had been there was gone by the time I rounded the aisle, but I heard a gentle clinking sound, and saw a trail of red-pink droplets.
I followed it back to that section – handcrafted from local artists, there was something new hanging from a hook near the shelves – wet, glistening strips dangled from along what looked to be a curved bone with bits of gristle still attached. From one of them hung an expensive men’s wristwatch, another was tied around a shattered, thick glasses lens. Yet another sagged under the weight of car keys. They gently swayed with the motion of having been recently placed. Fluid continued to drip from the still wet viscera and mingled with the mud on my shoes.
Shoplifters will be processed
I didn’t need to see the items down the other aisles to figure out what I was looking at, what must have happened.
I could already tell that we’d never have another argument, ever again.
I heard a door open and close in the back, soft footsteps approaching from down that hallway.
I realized that in my distraction, I'd forgotten to put money back on the counter.
I choked up, but knew there was nothing I could do for him. So, I tossed the first bills I found in my purse onto the floor, frantically untangled the car keys, and in shock, I drove myself the remaining four-hour drive home.
Every so often, along the quiet country roads – those I could've sworn were empty on the drive up – I’d see that grimy building, the sign, '-MART' flashing in the distance.
I didn’t stop once.
I've been home for a week now.
A few nights ago, something triggered a motion alert on my video doorbell, but there was no one there when I checked the footage.
The next morning, I found a cardboard box on my porch – with no stamp or return address.
In it was a torn t-shirt, and several of those now-familiar wrapped packages, putrid fluid leaking out of them through the bottom of the soggy cardboard.
I've received a similar box every night, since.
I don't know if it's meant as a threat, or if due to some sort of twisted interpretation – I’m now a 'paying customer’ – he's slowly being returned to me.
Either way, it turns out that I've gotten to see who Brian was on the inside, after all.

Would 50 watt bulbs damage a 5mm piece of glass?
As you can see in the images I have made a contraption from glass to hold the light bulbs closer to the water while keeping them safe from water
I removed the lens to make the light more directional and it works great
Issue is that 2 10watt bulbs just dint really grow plants like my minted Carlo that is actively dying (needs co2 as well but I can't add that currently fir a few reasons)
My question is this: would a 50 watt bulb sitting like shown with my 10 watt bulbs heat up the glass too much cracking it in your experience?
I read that LEDs are 50% efficient meaning that 25 Wats would become heat, most of it being at the top of the bulb in the white ceramic parts. But my 10 wat bulbs already heat up the glass to a barley comfortable to hold level.
You might say that 2x 50 watt bulbs is overkill for a small 80 liters(20 gallon) tank and yiu would be absolutely correct but I'm also planning on replacing the tank with one of similsr dimension with the exeprion of width, since i want to take advantage if my full space so the 100 watts would be very good for the 160 liter that will soon be there

2024.05.14 01:02 Apprehensive_BeeTx Advice from my cardiologist. (Chuckles)

So after a year of diet and sobriety my cardiologist was absolutely ecstatic about my improved health . “ Your heart is functioning normally now! Congratulations on your weight loss! Hey listen if you’d like you can have just one glass of wine a night! Live a little!! “ I immediately said “No I can’t “. He looked at me curiously. I then explained that if I have one glass of wine then I’ll be drinking a jug handle of vodka right after. He looked at my record history where I had said I was an alcoholic ( was my first admission to a health worker). And he sad Oh! Yes. Best that you hold the course that you are on because it is working! We both had a laugh. I said on my exit that I am not living a little… I am living a lot.
