As it always has been and shall always be so long as the fascist occupation force calling itself Israel, its band of degenerate war criminals and rapists attempting to pass themselves off as a “defense force” and the equally vile settlers which illiterates and idiots believe to be “civilians” continue to exist in any capacity, the entire Arab nation and Palestine in particular face the worst genocide in living memory and an existential threat. Since Hamas launched its offensive to reclaim Arab land in response to the illegal and severe violations against their people Israel routinely commits on October 7th, the zionist filth have committed the most disgusting war crimes possible in plain view.
This includes instances of occupation forces making videos on social media making light of the fact that Arabs will starve or die of dehydration on account of their crimes, posting about sending the filth of their bloodlines gifts stolen from the homes of civilians they displaced, dedicating the destruction of whole towns to their spouses and in the case of a particular French zionist abomination, posing on social media with the undergarments of women whose homes him and his pack of unhinged, inbred war criminals plundered.
These are just the instances of the occupation forces going above and beyond to break the spirit of the Arab people and reveling in their criminality. It does not come close to the additional, far more severe war crimes “Israel” has committed such as the deployment of the internationally banned white phosphorus, their informing civilians in the Northern Gaza Strip to evacuate the North before promptly bombing the South, the Flour Massacre where they ran down hundreds of civilians with tanks as they were fleeing and this is only what is most egregious and recent. The amount of crimes this settler colony has committed and continues to commit in this war alone defies comprehension.

That Hamas has repeatedly offered peace terms, the UN, itself controlled by the imperialist yankee filth, has passed resolutions calling for a ceasefire and the general public, even among the profiteers of imperialism in the west have held demonstrations for Palestine and still “Israel” continues its course proves what anyone with any sense has known since their awareness of Israel’s existence. These are not men of reason and for Israel, this is not a war. It is a wholesale genocide with the only goal being the theft of Arab land, the resources in it and the eradication of the native population.
Since the last time we spoke about the situation, at the dawn of the war between Hamas and the zionist entity, we have seen a situation that would be astonishing for those who do not understand the terroristic character of the IDF.
Documents shared on Wikileaks and Times of Israel have revealed what should be common knowledge at this point: the occupiers’ plan is essentially to destroy Gaza and deport the population, considered too rebellious, to most probably, Egypt. The goal is no longer (if you believe it was ever the intention!) to destroy Hamas, but to destroy Gaza.
We remember when the Israeli government, after explaining to the Gazan populations that to escape Israeli bombings and attacks, they needed to migrate to the South, and that now that the North is finished, the South with Rafah is suffering all the fire from the imperialist forces.
Gaza is experiencing an unprecedented humanitarian crisis: nearly 90,000 injured and dead, 1.9 million people currently displaced. Hunger, bombings, death, rubble are the daily lives of nearly 2.5 million people. As even the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, from a cosmopolitan organization that itself supported (even created!) Israel, stated the 30th of January 2024:
Life for civilians in Gaza is a real ordeal. Thousands of people are constantly on the move, having to leave places they were told were safe and living in constant fear. People make tents out of plastic bags and pieces of wood. They live on only one meal a day, if they are lucky. An image remains etched in my mind: I saw more than a hundred children running towards a cart bringing food. We see children everywhere, carrying water in cans, sometimes as young as 4 years old, chopping wood to make a fire. Children have not been going to school for months: schools and universities have been destroyed, destroying all hope for the future. Clinics and hospitals have been attacked, very few of them are still functioning, whether to provide trauma care or to help a woman give birth.”

One of Israel’s most recent crimes, as of the time this is being written, is the Flour Massacre, during which several hundred Palestinians simply waiting for food were crushed and fired upon by Israeli tanks. Israel is in its very essence, exterminationist and seeks to end the existence of the Arab Nation. We must mention that the situation in the West Bank has gotten even worse since the beginning of the war. Israel is limiting far more to the Palestinians displaced in the West Bank, blocking access to main roads from villages, revoking all permits to enter Israel for work and creating dozens of checkpoints. In short, even the Arabs who wanted to be assimilated inside of the jewish welfare state are oppressed!
The two foreign ministers of France and Germany requested an international investigation to determine responsibility for the massacre…While the Israelis themselves admitted their responsibility, and simply explained that these shots were in reaction to Arabs approaching a military post (we must note that the investigation provided by the zionist New York Times indicates that the massacre was planned).

We saw Mélenchon, the representative of the new French social democracy, say in a rally in support of Gaza :
“Long live you Paris, of all colors and religions, you are the epitome of humanity. And eternal glory to Gaza and those who resist” The reader must notice the “honor” of being addressed to Paris, this cosmopolitan city, linked to a romantic love for Hamas. Mélenchon essentially shared with us this dangerous, almost Machiavellian poison of humanism, this idea that the Hamas movement only represents the quintessence of the human ideal of emancipation.
This is why this extreme left always highlights the horrific nature of Israeli crimes, with dead children, famine, old men forced to migrate, etc. This was seen on social networks, on which we saw leftists sharing gory images in order to shock the white middle class…. As if, if Israel was sympathetic in its war, these people would support Israel! We must be clear. Israel is an enemy, whether left or right, it must be exterminated.
The humanitarian situation was so terrible that an American soldier, Aaron Bushnell, self- immolated. We must understand that a man setting himself on fire is proof of a society in revolt. We remember when Vietnamese Buddhist students set themselves on fire in protest of the South Vietnamese comprador dictatorship, fully supported by America. We must salute the courage of this man, and may he rest in power.

That the degenerate petit-bourgeois of the West claim to stand with Palestine, yet still believe that post-zionist “Israelis” calling for a “two-state solution” qualify as anti-zionist forces us to explain the essence of the genocidal and cosmopolitan drivel that is zionism. To believe the settlers to have a right to any part of Palestine and to be anti-zionist are as mutually exclusive and lacking in compatibility as two ideas have ever had. We shall state the obvious though it is to our chagrin that this is not simply implied. It is not possible for there to be such a thing as an anti-zionist “Israeli” or even an “anti-zionist jew” because the myth of jewish nationality is the basis of zionism. The belief in this categorically untrue myth is the sole thing that makes anyone zionist whatever their opinion of this religious group may be. There is no set of circumstances where we will ever yield this point to the zionist filth. They cannot be a nation nor ethnicity as their group belongs to various different nations all with different languages and historically shared lands. The logical conclusion of granting zionists of any variety this point is that jews are entitled to a state if they are, in fact, a nation.
We reject the very concept emphatically and even more emphatically denounce anyone foolish or reprehensible enough to believe in it. The only outcome that can be called justice is if these idiots and degenerates returned home, returned that which is rightfully Arab (all of Palestine and Lebanon and Golan Heights in Syria) and then integrated into their European nations while atoning for their opportunistic cosmopolitanism and being accessory to imperialist war crimes. This brings us to the absolutely toothless and performative “left” in the imperialist bloc that claim to be pro-Palestine, but yield as it concerns the most important points we may hold against the zionist occupation force. On their being afraid of being called “antisemitic” which at this point is naught but a race card to the zionists may cry ceaselessly before the public while also celebrating their atrocities towards Arabs, they will take the post-zionist position and promptly yield when the neo-zionist comes screeching about how anyone who condemns zionist war crimes or denies the myth of jewish nationality must wish for a rerun of the holocaust.
In essence, they will affirm “Israel’s right to exist” while condemning the brazen and undeniable genocide, brutality and general violence of “Israel”, but also while refusing to acknowledge that no “Israeli” has any right to any part of Palestine and being perfectly content with the assimilation and more soft erasure of Arabs. An Arab to a neo-zionist is like an indigenous American to the US while to a post-zionist, they are more akin to an Afro-American. The erasure and destruction of the Arabs in Palestine and possibly across the whole of Arabia is a perfectly acceptable outcome for these chauvinistic scoundrels provided the Arab nation is too weak to resist and Israel destroys the people in less violent ways. They are not for this just cause and anyone who believes otherwise is a damn fool.
We must note the statement by the PFLP in response to the Western cries over Israeli crimes :
We call on all living forces, including solidarity and trade unions, to escalate all forms of struggle and pressure aimed at stopping supplies destined to equip the zionist killing machine against our people, whether by opposing decisions to export arms and materials supporting the criminal occupation, or by direct objections aimed at obstructing the transportation and shipment of ammunition for extermination. We stress the need for everyone to fulfill their duty to support the steadfastness of our people in Gaza Strip, both materially and morally, and the need to work to expand, develop and organize the forms and tools of support. We call for organizing, institutionalizing and structuring these movements to ensure continuity and impact in order to save humanity from its moral predicament. We salute the global people movements and their living conscience that rejects the hysteria of the Zionist/imperialist war leadership. We especially salute the new pulse led by consciousness activists in the world, as a true, free, democratic and peaceful expression of victory for the universality of Palestine.” PFLP-26 February 2024
In short, the organization accepts some support from Western people, neglecting to mention the labor aristocracy. Why? We must explain something simple : the labor aristocracy theory is part of a western critique of the inefficiency of the western revolutionary movement. The third world never needed this theory for its forces. The PFLP kept the Brezhnevite strategy of supporting all communist parties, even the western degenerate ones.
The resistance groups movements which launched the initial war of liberation held a meeting in Moscow to talk between each other, invited by Putin’s envoy in the Middle East:
“In his speech, Fahd Suleiman (General Secretary of Democratic Front for Liberation of Palestine) emphasized the seriousness and deep sense of national responsibility that prevailed in the Palestinian meeting. He also praised the role played by Professor Naumkin in managing the meeting sessions, and the positive assistance he provided that provided the opportunity to agree on the positive statement issued by the two meetings, which necessarily bears the fingerprints of the Russian capital.”
Meanwhile the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine “delegation stressed the need to seize the opportunity for dialogue in Algeria despite the existing obstacles and difficulties, stressing that the Front delegation for dialogue will make sincere efforts to reach an agreement that puts an end to the division and actually begins the measures to build national unity. The Front delegation praised the role of the Russian Federation in supporting the struggle of the Palestinian people, as well as the importance of continuing this role and doing everything possible within international institutions to put an end to attacks and “Israeli” violations against our country, people and our land.”
In short all Palestinians are behind Russia against the West, in the goal of using them against America. This proved that the goal of the Arab resistance movements was never to destroy Jewry (contrary to the several claims of the Zionist medias that pretended the goal of Hamas was “to destroy Israel”) but to one last effort to bring the war on international grounds, to have the support of Russia, China and Iran against America.
PFLP and DFLP both support the idea of an “Islamic and Arab” Nation. This is a good development, since all Palestinian factions support in words the idea of an unitary Arab country.
The problem is that, apparently, Iran and Hezbollah were not warned of the battle, and so weren’t able to prepare themselves for the war against the zionist entity. Had they the political ambition to launch a total war against this Entity? We can’t be sure : Hezbollah didn’t start any Islamic Revolution, in a context where it is the most popular political force in Lebanon. To be a little provocative, the problem of Hezbollah is not that it is an “Islamist terrorist” group like MSM pretends to be, but that it is not nearly radical enough.
Meanwhile, it is probable that Israel prepares itself to invade Lebanon, as it bombs Lebanon daily and even uses chemical weapons against the South of Lebanon (I may remind people that this was the main criticism the degenerate leftoids had against Assad, that he apparently “used chemical weapons”!). Israel knows, thanks to the 2006 war, that it can’t invade Lebanon, and so has one goal : ending the war in Ukraine, so the West will concentrate all its forces and put all its financial power into consolidating the interests of the zionists.
The only solution to this genocide and all ongoing violations is unification of all Arabs against the zionist entity and foreign powers, and political revolution against all of the reactionary monarchies colluding with the Imperialists. Highlighting the criminal character of Israel may provide some reprieve should we receive a sufficient amount of miracles on the day in question, but there is no positive outcome that does not entail the eradication of the monstrosity known as Israel.

We will not mince words. This shall not end with a ceasefire as the Arabs of Palestine are faced with the most violent and sociopathic occupation force in existence. If and when “Israel” ceases its aggression, it will be at an unacceptable cost to the Arabs and this genocide will continue as it has for the entirety of this fascist state’s existence and as it inevitably will until justice is enforced and “Israel” ceases to exist. To the “moderate” degenerate reading this and crying internally because reality is “antisemitic”, we maintain that such pacifist drivel only comes from those perfectly comfortable with the status quo because imperialism suits them. It makes no sense whatsoever to appeal to the moral sensibilities of a zionist because ceasing their genocide would go against their interests. Israel only exists to further the interests of the imperialist bloc in the Middle East. It will only ever exist on top of Arab land and act in the furtherance of international monopolies. There is no justice nor survival for Arabs so long as this existential threat is not mitigated. Palestine must be freed and the Arab people must be afforded their right to live.

This is a very good question, since right-wing deviationists and crude Dengists believe that the recent coup in Niger is part of a broad Chinese-backed anti-imperialist alliance against West.
Unfortunately, their fantasies find themselves contradicted by reality.
Let's see what China South Morning Post, a good mediatic representation of the chinese petit bourgeois (and, by extension, Westernized) ideology says:
In the coming weeks, the UN peacekeeping mission in Mali, where China has hundreds of troops, will start leaving following a UN resolution in June, a decision that came after the ruling military in the capital of Bamako pushed for the removal of the international strengths.
(...)
China is waiting for stability
(...)
In 2019, China contributed US$45.6 million to the G5 Joint Force’s security and counterterrorism operations. (1)
In summary, the Chinese bourgeoisie is, alongside France, the second power that invests the most in Niger, in a rather different way.
Contrary to France, which wishes to take back uranium (nearly 60% of uranium belonged to French companies, particularly Oreno, and until recently, the billionaire Bolloré owned all the Nigerian trade infrastructures and means of transport, while the SOPAMIN anonymous company, supposed to be "state-owned" sold coal, lithium, nickel and other minerals to the imperialists French, Canadians, Koreans, Americans), the Chinese bourgeoisie, through the company SINOPEC, refines oil, a buisness supposed to be rizing according to the cosmopolitan bourgeois media Buisness Insider.
China conducts nearly $200 billion in annual trade with Africa. Its companies have dug over 200 oil wells in Niger since 2010, discovering a billion barrels of oil in the process. Chinese companies built the Soraz refinery and the domestic pipeline leading to it. (2)
The imperialist apparatus of CIA, Voice of America, seems to lick its predatory lips at the prospects of this trade, using it as a propaganda weapon against China :
[Niger and China] need each other to reach their oil production targets. Africa's largest oil producing nation pumps 2 million barrels a day and has a goal of producing 3 million barrels a day by 2023. China's domestic oil production has been on a steady decline because of natural depletion and other geological challenges. So experts predict that up to 80 percent of China's crude oil supply will be imported by 2030. (3)
Niger before the coup, had plans to multiply its oil production by 10, becoming the main imperialized exporter (80% of its production would be destined for export), because as oil minister Mahaman Sani Mahamadou explained :
Today, thanks to the improvement of the business climate, combined with the upcoming finalization of the Niger-Benin Export Pipeline project, 2000 km long, Niger has become a destination of choice for oil groups that aim to invest in the area (4)
This pipeline project has been abandoned since the recent putsch, hampering the interests of both Western imperialist forces and China.
We understand better why Russia is a power much closer to the national-bourgeois government of Niger than China.
We will gladly hope that the proletarian faction of China will manage to put the nation in the right hands, as Niger will remain free in its anti-imperialist policy.

2023.07.18 12:16 MichaelLanne How The French Bourgeoisie and the Right supported immigration to have a cheap workforce

You can also read the article on the Website of the Marxist Anti Imperialist Collective : https://mac417773233.wordpress.com/2023/07/16/how-the-french-bourgeoisie-and-the-right-supported-immigration-to-have-a-cheap-workforce/

How The French Bourgeoisie and the Right supported immigration to have a cheap workforce

Foreigners are people who have a lot of wonderful qualities (…) because if they come to us, it’s in order to work, and they’re very motivated for that! Unfortunately, they are there to make a little money, to then leave us and come back home, so they’re not a stable workforce. Francis Bouygues, 1969
Francis Bouygues, a famous building and public works contractor, who will later become a media owner, well known for employing a workforce made up of 80% immigrants, was pretty sad that this cheap and sad workforce can only be used temporary. But fortunately, one year later, he has found the perfect solution!
[the foreign workforce] is an excellent workforce, because it is young, physically solid and courageous, but it does not speak French and is not qualified… To be able to qualify them, we will have to integrate them socially! To be able to integrate them socially and economically, they must be able to found a family, marry and have children… (…) Starting from the problem where the foreign worker settles in France and founds a family, the problem is resolved! Francis Bouygues, 1970
This is basically the kind of advices the bourgeois government, under the “right” government of Pompidou, Chirac and Giscard, will listen to! Even tough they already listened to that kind of advices since the end of the war.
Immigration is a means of creating a certain relaxation in the labor market and of resisting social pressure Georges Pompidou, Prime Minister, before the National Assembly, 1963.
And like explained the expert in economical science Eric Taïeb :
As early as the 1950s, employers and the State encouraged the massive immigration of labor – rather single, contrary to the wishes of certain demographers -, certainly through State-to-State negotiations but also clandestinely. The National Immigration Office is bypassed and will then only regularize these illegal immigrants. (…) It was by whole trucks or coaches that certain recruiters in the automobile industry went to look for Portuguese and Moroccans, and that until the beginning of the 1970s
But this was in 1978, when the Conseil d’État approved the Family reunification that the end of the French nation begun, this ended up pleasing the cosmopolitan-imperialist bourgeoisie, a little the proletariat from imperialized nations willing to join labour-aristocracy by abandoning their nations, but not the people from imperialists nations seeing his nation getting destroyed and put in a stage of chaos, while the pie from colonialism is getting destroyed and shared (explaining why PCF, even during its worst Eurocommunist days, was still opposed to immigration and the family reunification).
This seems to be our duty to unmask the cosmopolitan bourgeois plan and to fight for national independence and Socialism!

If it walks, talks and quacks like a duck, it is a duck!
And to this day, no response from these hacks to the following:
It should be pointed out that many of the points of departure between Bahāʾī and fundamentalist Muslim polemics against the Bayān often intersect and are sometimes even identical in a few notable instances, especially on those occasions when contemporary Muslim polemicists in Iran source primarily Bahāʾī texts, narratives and talking points in their case against the Bayān. In recent times, many of the mouthpieces to such polemics have also weaponized ex-Bahāʾīs against the Bayānīs to the mutual benefit of those Islamic fundamentalists associated with the establishment of the Islamic Republic of Iran as well as the Bahāʾī establishment both. One of the most bizarre, not to mention among the most outrageously hypocritical, among common talking points offered by these supporters of the Islamic Republic of Iran (whenever polemicizing the Bayān) is when they blame and demonize those early Bābīs for attempting to violently overthrow the corrupt Qājār state and clergy in a Revolution, as if their own so-called Islamic Revolution of 1979 against the last Pahlavi shah emerged by ‘peaceful, unrebellious’ means in comparison! Such people - online mainly addressing such asinine arguments to an audience of mostly ‘vanilla and milk-toast’ Anglo-American liberals of ‘Unitarian Universalist’ mold (or related) – rarely mention the circumstances that led those early Bābīs inexorably to take up arms in open rebellion against their state and clerical enemies in a defensive jihād. Nor do they say anything regarding the lengths of violence and brutality that this state and clergy unleashed in order to put down the Bābī Revolution of 1848-52 CE. That these Anglo-American ex-Bahāʾī liberals even entertain the slightest credibility to such half-witted arguments is testimony to their utter gullibility, not to mention their infantile political consciousness with its dire intellectual poverty. No wonder that several of these people have only ever managed to get their stories published in print – and in Persian, no less, a language that none of them actually knows or understands - by an outfit based in Iran and directly connected via Sharīf Beheshtī University to the IR ministries of Intelligence and Islamic Guidance. That certain online ex-Bahāʾīs have recently been weaponized by the Islamic Republic of Iran in the regime’s anti-Bābī crusade (crucially in print media and cinema) is due to the fact that since its inception in 1979, the IRI has relentlessly pursued a policy of vindicating the Qājār era and the role of the establishment clergy in it (continually bending much of the credible historiography around that era beyond recognition in the process) – since the opposite was the case during most of the Pahlavi era – and it is to this state-sponsored revisionist historical narrative and re-imagined history that such Anglo-American ex-Bahāʾī liberal Unitarian Universalists have been recruited of late, falling prey to the hands of bigotted state propagandists who are rabidly anti-Bābī (and, ostensibly, also anti-Bahāʾī as well). Babophobes is how we have labeled such people on both sides. Nevertheless it should be underscored that Bahāʾī texts and their sectarian historiographies/hagiographies are rife with such dishonest contortions (and distortions) of history in their own right because they have always been consistent in de-contextualizing Bābī radicalism and then condemning it (a form of gaslighting every Bahāʾī text on the subject engages in); never mind that as all credible historical documentation proves beyond any doubt, the Bahāʾī founder himself had been part of, and personally involved up to his eyeballs with, all the most radical phase(s) of the early Bābī movement. Yet it is on such points of issue that intersections of agreement have occurred between Bahāʾīs and the ḥawzavī/IR regime crowd for quite a while now. But in recent times, as compared to the past, the latter have overtly been employing verbatim official Bahāʾī talking points, sources and texts against the Bayān and its adherents. Be that as it may, a point of irony we have returned to again and again is how when one reflects upon the political postures and stance taken by ʿAbbās Effendī in his ‘Treatise on Politics’ (risālih-i-sīyāsīyih), and especially given the timeline in which he took them; to what extent these views of his converge and completely align politically on key points with those of the arch-reactionary, anti-Constitutionalist mullah, Shaykh Faḍlullāh Nūrī (d. 1909): a figure whose biography and reputation the Islamic Republic of Iran (and on Khomeini’s personal instructions) has literally gone out of its way since 1979 to exonerate. What else can be said other than that ‘reactionaries’ of a feather, flock together! QED.

And, of course, none of the Baha'is give a flying fuck as long as their "institutions" and "covenant" aren't attacked since the Baha'is long ago stopped caring a fig about the Bab or the Babis and merely use them as a convenient prop for perpetual self-relevance and self-aggrandizement, not to mention to rake in tourism shekels for the Israelis!

2023.04.26 16:21 MichaelLanne A response to Grover Furr’s article on Quebecois nationalism

read this on the website of the Marxist Anti Imperialist Collective : https://mac417773233.wordpress.com/2023/04/05/a-response-to-gruver-furrs-article-on-quebecois-nationalism/
Before beginning our response, we must show our respect for the American historian Grover Furr, and his historiographical research on the Soviet Union, which is of quality that there is no need to be demonstrated. But it is our duty to write a response to such an old article titled “Separatist Movement Shows Nationalism = Fascism”, published in November 10, 1995.
Why pick such an old article? For two main reasons: (1) this article remains very close to the commonly held Marxist-Leninist conception of Nationalism, and therefore must be debated if one wishes to discuss the National Question (2) this article was published in 1995, and therefore, unlike the articles of Lenin on the National question having the “excuse” of not having been written after the Building of Socialism in the Soviet Union, Grover Furr had 70 years of Socialism (and thus its handling of Nationalism) to drawn conclusions from.
The essence of the Quebec separatist movement. Fundamentally, it is a fascist movement, hiding behind the facade of “preserving French culture.” It is more like the nationalist rivalries in Yugoslavia than different from them. Like them, it is an attempt – – successful, so far — to win Quebec workers to put their trust in “quebecois” politicians and businessmen, who will cut back wages and social benefits in the name of “preserving the nation.”An independent Quebec would have led to sharp, Gingrich-style attacks on the standard of living of French Quebec workers, as well as to openly racist attacks against non-French Quebeckers.
This quote proves the absurd premises of Mr. Furr’s thesis, and we are going to explain this in several ways (we are going to talk about the execrable definition of fascism later). G. Furr explains to us that Quebec nationalism would originally be purely foreign to the working class and would have been a diversion set up by the bourgeoisie…
What this historian fails to understand is that the Proletariat cannot have bourgeois ideas imposed upon it, that the idea of “false consciousness” is a lie invented by First World communists to explain their failure to make a revolutionary out of the labor aristocracy, by not understanding the conclusion of their logic: if the bourgeoisie can change the opinions of the proletariat by propaganda, then the proletariat can change the opinions of the bourgeoisie by propaganda, and we arrive at a social democrat thesis of the bourgeoisie who can accept the construction of Socialism peacefully.
What G. Furr proposes is similar: he explains to us that the proletariat is “internationalist” but had nationalist ideas imposed on it by the bourgeoisie, so the conclusion of this idea is that the bourgeoisie can become internationalist because of the proletariat.
We can also see that G.Furr demonstrates a total ignorance of the history of Quebec Nationalism, having been a social democrat, socialist or even Marxist-Leninist movement.
For example we have the FLQ, which was a Marxist-Leninist organization supported by Cuba, which was fighting in the name of national independence. It seems curious to speak of a Quebec nationalism that would be bourgeois.
We’ll talk about the delusional comparison that G.Furr makes with Yugoslavia later.
Til the early `60s Quebec capitalists controlled the French working class as a cheap labor force through a dictatorship supported by the extremely conservative Quebec Catholic Church. “Traditional values” were maintained: the Church censored all films (including Protestant movies like “Martin Luther”) and attacked Jews and unionists as communists. Women did not win the vote until 1944, when — briefly — the Quebec/Church dictatorship was out of power for failure to support the British side in WWII. Even then, Cardinal Taschereau threatened to excommunicate any woman working in the mainly upper-class women’s suffrage movement, though he backed off at the last moment. Religious indoctrination in Catholic schools was compulsory; no secular, nonreligious education was allowed at all
Here again, G. Furr ignores the question of the masses. If Quebecers have the religion imposed by a dictatorship, how does it explain the fact that Quebecois Masses were always the most Catholic place of North America besides of Mexico, having by the past even harsher laws than the US?
This is explained again by looking at the National Question: the Anglos of Canada have brothers and sisters in the Anglo masses of America and the ones of United Kingdom, both Protestant states, while Quebec has its brothers and sisters from France which is Catholic.
Catholicism in the Quebecois case becomes, similarly to the Polish one, a way to separate oneself from his neighbors who want to assimilate tge Nation to Anglodom.
Quebec after the 60s went really far from religion, because as Anglos were losing more and more their religious practice, Quebecers didn’t need to keep Catholicism to separate themselves from Anglos.
“Religion having failed as a means to control most workers, the Quebec ruling class — especially the French employers and politicians — turned towards nationalism to deflect the workers’ militancy. It proved a winning tactic. The separatist movement arose during the 1960s as a reaction against the racism suffered by French speakers at the hands of the English ruling class for so long. But it was mainly a terrorist movement, infamous for assassinations and bombing mailboxes. Its leaders were captured and imprisoned.”
This paragraph is interesting for two reasons:
  1. G. Furr admits in this paragraph that French-speaking Quebecers suffered racism from the Anglo-Saxons, including the vast majority of the ruling class (the bourgeoisie).
  2. In this paragraph, G. Furr tries to denounce this movement for its “terrorism”. But G. Furr, having studied the Soviet Union and the Bolsheviks, must know that every revolutionary movement is a terrorist movement, that Lenin, Stalin, Kalinin or Molotov were terrorists, in short, that the argument of terrorism is not a communist argument to fight the attempts at combat by the revolutionary forces of Quebec. But this proves the fact that G. Furr has a problem as a historian which is the “liberalization” of the revolutionary movement. For example, by claiming that the Great Purge of 1937 was unreasonable and had nothing to do with Stalin, he is actually trying to liberalize the history of Socialism in the USSR, by claiming that the job of a Communist Party would not be to fight a constant civil war until the final victory.
“In the `82 vote for separatism, defeated 60%-40%, an American-born friend of mine worked for separatism on cultural grounds. A teacher of French to immigrants, she loves Quebec French culture and language, and saw no problem with making Quebec “monolingually” French. But soon after she noticed another tendency. Separatist friends began to shun her because she was not “old stock”, “pure wool”: because she was not ethnically quebecoise! Suddenly, language and culture was not what separatism was really about. Furthermore, she is Jewish, and she saw the traditionalal anti-Semitism once associated with the discredited Catholic Church reemerging in the separatist movement. Another friend, a university professor born of English-speaking parents but sent to French schools all his life and now teaching at an all-French university, now tells me some of his “separatist” students treat him the same way. Regardless of how “French” he may be culturally, he is not ethnically French- Canadian, and so can never be part of the “nation.”
We can notice that Furr mixes absolutely everything in a spectacular way.
He mixes the fact of nationalists refusing even assimilated immigration with the aim of keeping the land of their ancestors, and the Jewish question, which he links to the religious character, instead of the National Question.
It’s even more obvious here:
“See the parallel with Yugoslavia? Your ancestors can have lived in Serbia for centuries but, if you are a Muslim, you’re “not a Serb” by the fascist standards that constitute Serbian “nationhood. Exactly as in Hitler’s Germany — or, for that matter, in Germany today, where no Jew, no matter how many centuries their ancestors have lived in Germany or how “Germanized” they are culturally, is a “German”, while German- speakers whose ancestors moved to Russia in the 18th century are still part of the “volk”.”
G.Furr confuses two rather important elements:
  1. A Muslim in Serbia or a Jew in Germany is not a person of another nation, unlike a person of Anglo-Saxon origin in Quebec. This is precisely the problem, the “nationalists” have believed that Bosnia, Croatia, Serbia, and Montenegro are different nations because one Muslim, the other Catholic, the other Orthodox, etc. Not seeing the purely absurd character of this idea, leading to a division of the Serbo-Croatian Civilization. If the Serbo-Croatian Catholic sees himself as a Croat, and the Serbo-Croatian Orthodox sees himself as Orthodox, what can we hope for the unification of the Nation? The Jewish Question is similar, the problem being that the acceptance of Jewish identity leads to a refusal of assimilation and an internal division of Germany.
  2. Furr also makes a mistake by claiming that the Germans had a national vision of Lebensraum, whereas all Germans agree with the idea of colonization. Poland and the USSR were to be colonies, formed after the unification of the Nation (because as Hitler said “The German people have no moral right to setup remote colonies when they cannot even unite their own children in a common state. people will only earn the right to acquire foreign soil when the Reich has expanded to include every German”), hence the Anschluss, the end of anti-national elements like the Jews, and a form of social democracy to allow an alliance of class between a workers aristocracy, a middle class and the imperialist-cosmopolitan financial bourgeoisie (Hitler’s promise according to the radio proclamation announcing his government being: “Farmers, workers, and the middle class must unite to contribute the bricks wherewith to build the new Reich. The National Government will therefore regard it as its first and supreme task to restore to the german people unity of mind and will“) but Hitler indicates that Poland and the Soviet Union are colonies to be repopulated with Germans:
Poland will be depopulated and settled with Germans. My pact with the Poles was merely conceived of as a gaining of time. As for the rest, gentlemen, the fate of Russia will be exactly the same as 1 am now going through with in the case of Poland. After Stalin’s death -he is a very sick man- we will break the Soviet Union. Then there will begin the dawn of the German rule of the earth”
The delirium of the Slavs being Germans was only a means for the National Socialists to still be able to claim nationalism after having integrated and subjugated an entire continent.
The Germans declared it themselves in a postcard addressed to the French:
“Twelve centuries before the European community took shape today, Charlemagne had united under his scepter the principal countries of Europe. His empire was neither German nor French, it was European. After his death, this first attempt at European union was destroyed and, for more than a thousand years, nationalisms clashed in a spirit of rivalry…”
This propaganda text by Nazis indicates well that, after 1941, the goal was to finish nationalism once and for all, to unite Europe under a cosmopolitan formation. This strategy was also understood by Comrade Stalin when he was faced with this Imperialism:
“Can the Hitlerites be regarded as nationalist? No, they cannot. Actually, the Hitlerites are now not nationalist but imperialists. As long as the Hitlerites were engaged in assembling the German lands and reuniting the Rhine district, Austria, etc., it was possible with a certain amount of foundation to call them nationalists. But after they seized foreign territories and enslaved European nations— the Czechs, Slovaks, Poles, Norwegians, Danes, Dutch, Belgians, French, Serbs, Greeks, Ukrainians, Byelorussians, the inhabitants of the Baltic countries, etc.—and began to reach out for world domination, the Hitlerite party ceased to be a nationalist party, because from that moment it became an imperialist party, a party of annexation and oppression. “ During the past decade the Eastern European elites, no longer even nominally “communist” (that is, supporters of the working class), turned to fascist nationalism to deflect the attention of the working classes from the fact that the reversion to free-market capitalism has drastically lowered the standard of living of the working populations throughout the area. “Free-market capitalism” is making even the corrupt, phony “communist” regimes of a decade ago seem good to many workers, who have seen their jobs, wages, and benefits slashed to below poverty levels so that employers and foreign investors can enjoy high profit levels. Only “ethnic rivalries” — racism, fascism, and, ultimately, war can keep the working classes in line behind their exploiters.”
G. Furr seems to have ignored this fundamental work of Stalin on the class origin of Nationalism:
“That explains the fact that the peasantry constitutes the main army of the national movement, that there is no powerful national movement without the peasant army, nor can there be. That is what is meant when it is said that, in essence, the national question is a peasant question. I think that Semich’s reluctance to accept this formula is due to an under-estimation of the inherent strength of the national movement and a failure to understand the profoundly popular and profoundly revolutionary character of the national movement. This lack of understanding and this under-estimation constitute a grave danger, for, in practice, they imply an under-estimation of the potential might latent, for instance, in the movement of the Croats for national emancipation. This underestimation is fraught with serious complications for the entire Yugoslav Communist Party.
Mr. Furr seems to agree with Semich’s thesis by speaking to us of the nation being the obsession of the bourgeoisie, without speaking of the importance of the popular masses (peasants in Stalin’s time, proletarians in our time) as a national army, ready to fight for its independence against the bourgeoisie.
Mr. Furr ignores, speaking of Eastern Europe, the hatred that Eastern Europeans felt towards the USSR for the submissive character of the dictatorships of the proletariat.
Because as Kim Jong Il said about the fall of European Socialism:
“Socialist countries in Eastern Europe perished mainly because their leaders, steeped in flunkeyism, had depended on others for the revolution, instead of carrying it out by believing in the strength of their own people and in their own way.” “The leaders of these countries were extremely sycophantic towards the Soviet Union. They followed the Soviet way of doing everything and blindly accepted instructions from Moscow. They practiced bureaucratism copying the Soviet pattern. They became divorced from their peoples as they became bureaucrats, instead of working in accordance with the will of their peoples.”
Kim Jong Un, explaining why his state managed to survive, will follow this statement.
“The course of its leading the cause of the Juche revolution, the cause of socialism, has been an acute and serious political and class struggle against imperialism, dominationism, revisionism, worship of big powers and dogmatism, and a hard struggle of hewing out an untrodden path to build a genuine, new society for the people. In the whole course of leading the several stages of the revolution and construction the WPK has not followed any established theory or formula, but advanced dynamically along the road indicated by the original Juche idea, the road of independence, Songun and socialism.”
The countries of Eastern Europe and a good number of revolutionary movements have failed due to their ignorance on Nationalism, considering it as bourgeois or even as Fascism, but this ignorance will lead not only to these movements in their downfall, but also to Marxism even in a slow death, becoming an ideology for the parasites of the great imperialist Nations of our time.
One can ask: is it really wise for the socialist leaders of our time, after 150 years of history, to keep this theoretical line?

Kenyans are protesting their comprador bourgeoisie government
Read This on the website of the Marxist Anti Imperialist Collective https://mac417773233.wordpress.com/2023/04/09/kenyans-are-protesting-their-comprador-bourgeoisie-government-2/
For several weeks, Kenyans are demonstrating against the high cost of living, corruption, inflation, unemployment, and a decaying quality of life under the (former?) British colony of East Africa, against the current liberal and Christian fundamentalist president William Ruto, who has promised massive privatisations for the next months, who also has been accused of electoral fraud by the social-democrat candidate Raila Odinga. William Ruto was completely molded by Daniel Arap Moi’s comprador autocracy, supported by the Western Imperialists against Communism and Anti-Imperialism, and saw in this West-backed dictatorship that he met several times a “mentor” ; he was Vice President under Uhuru Kenyatta, a puppet of America and England, linked to the Pandora Papers affair.
Like explained by the Kenyan newspaper The Elephant :
"For the past 60 years, this elite network has remained well resourced and networked and is as a result both resilient and stable. This in turn has contributed to the peace and stability Kenya has enjoyed. Even when this elite has had internal squabbles, which have regularly led to episodic violence in the country, they have been mediated through elite “handshakes” — essentially boardroom deals. Like the English aristocracy of old, unwritten rules of engagement govern their game of thrones (…) We are therefore encouraged to observe that the current political stalemate between the opposition and the government might not be the usual Kenyan intra-elite dispute but a more fundamental contest between two orders. The first, an order that over the life of the postcolonial state has entrenched itself and feels entitled to the spoils of the state. The second, a new order that feels that the old guard has had its time and should make way for it."
This comprador bourgeois dictatorship is desesperate against people’s revolt that it tried a heavy response against those protests, believing sincerely that arrests can stop an uprising of this style! We are sure that some of our readers will ask themselves “What are the Kenyans communists doing?” Well, for what we’ve seen, there was a brief split when fundamental members of the organization decided to support William Ruto against the Party’s majority. According to the remaining members of the Organization :
"The Party came under attack when two of its senior officials joined one of the two leading political coalitions during the 2022 elections campaigns, which went against Party regulations and the 2022 CPK election guidelines. Mghanga and Wachira broke off to join the Kenya Kwanza Alliance, the coalition that thrust President William Ruto into power. (…) The Party’s pre-election analysis concluded that both principal leading candidates: Ruto with Kenya Kwanza and Raila with Azimio, were comprador bourgeoisie and had nothing to offer the working class and the poor. In them, corruption, nepotism, tribalism and all the backward ideas of the old society reign. (…) Following the split, Mghanga and Wachira justified their decision to join the openly Right-Wing, Christian fondamentalist coalition. They called it the natural flow of things as they went where the people were. In a most fantastical tale responding to a member’s demand for an explanation, they exalted the move as one of those enemies-to-lovers’ tropes. Wachira explained how he would use his presence to swoop in and save the masses from under Ruto and bring them to the Left!"
We can remark that the argument of the members was completely populistic and pseudo-pro- masses one without any ways of seeing the actual logic and fullest conclusion of this presumption.
The only problem that I can find in the article from the remaining members is the argument : instead of being around the fact that William Ruto represents comprador bourgeoisie completely submitted to Imperialism like his mentor and his boss were, they use the fact that he is “right- wing conservative”
The KPC doesn’t understand that it isn’t the subject, that the Right-Left dichotomy is constructed around the relationship to Imperialism.
Regarding the rest, we can hope that revolutionary masses will not keep their mouth shut, coordinate their actions and fight against the Imperialists and their lackeys in the Great War of Liberation that is going in Africa, touching Françafrique in the West of the continent and also East.

A response to Grover Furr’s article on Quebecois nationalism

Before beginning our response, we must show our respect for the American historian Grover Furr, and his historiographical research on the Soviet Union, which is of quality that there is no need to be demonstrated. But it is our duty to write a response to such an old article titled “Separatist Movement Shows Nationalism = Fascism”, published in November 10, 1995.

Catholicism in the Quebecois case becomes, similarly to the Polish one, a way to separate oneself from his neighbors who want to assimilate tge Nation to Anglodom.

During the past decade the Eastern European elites, no longer even nominally “communist” (that is, supporters of the working class), turned to fascist nationalism to deflect the attention of the working classes from the fact that the reversion to free-market capitalism has drastically lowered the standard of living of the working populations throughout the area.
“Socialist countries in Eastern Europe perished mainly because their leaders, steeped in flunkeyism, had depended on others for the revolution, instead of carrying it out by believing in the strength of their own people and in their own way.”
“The leaders of these countries were extremely sycophantic towards the Soviet Union.

2023.03.26 10:42 MichaelLanne Where is the Khmer Genocide?

Where is the Khmer Genocide?
Read This on the website of the Marxist Anti-Imperialist Collective https://mac417773233.wordpress.com/2023/03/26/where-is-the-khmer-genocide/
You see that the question posed in my title is not “Is the Khmer Genocide real?” But “where is the Khmer Genocide?” Because I tried to for look this Genocide through the multiple statistics given by the World Bank (probably a Maoist pharmacy as everyone knows!) and i can’t find it.
If the genocide was real, we would expect a higher mortality that before, therefore, we should have seen adult mortality to rise massively during the Democratic period of Kampuchea (1975-1979), but unfortunately, there is no increase, but rather a massive drop, from 87 deaths per 1000 inhabitants (1975) to 19 deaths per 1000 inhabitants (1979).
We might expect such a dramatic decline to be applauded not by Capitalists, but by Communists, but no, it does appear that Communists are following Capitalists on this fundamental issue…
We must ask ourselves why these so-called cocos (claiming to be more red than red!) blindly follow the obstinacy of the pederast criminal (agent of International Jewry!) Henry Kissinger.
Concerning infant mortality, it fell massively in 1979 after having reached its highest point in 1975-1976 after an increase having taken place before the takeover by the Red Khmers, down from 180 (1975) to 130 (1978).
Regarding the death rate, we can go back and see that it got cut in four after its highest point (1975-1976) and that it stagnates during the Vietnamese puppet period.
All this is linked to an increase in life expectancy from 12 years to 37 years in just 2 years.
This positive development can be found in the multiplying of clinics by the government of Democratic Kampuchea, and the the elimination of diseases like malaria, coupled with the construction of water irrigation systems.
Briefly, we see that for a “genocide”, supposed to have taken place between 1975 and 1979, there is too little to see.
In summary, the Cambodians saw their condition deteriorate for a decade before the revolution, and after the installation of a revolutionary government, coupled with spectacular imperialist attacks, permanent instability and a quasi-civil war, things completely collapsed (1975-1976), but soon after the Socialist government attempted to solve all these problems and then the Vietnamese invasion and the establishment of the counter-revolutionary government happened, and things only stagnated, making Cambodia the western colony that it was destined to be by the colonizers.
And it seems that, despite all the evidence pointing to this simple truth, the so-called “communists” do not wish to fight, but wish to follow the example of the imperialists and their agents.
If they are so ready to follow the bourgeoisie, let them follow it… to the scaffold!

France passes its pension reform with force despite massive opposition

The French regime, presided over by Rothschild banker Macron, seems to have demonstrated its unilateral, anti-social, anti-popular and anti-national character.
For several months, this regime has been trying to pass its pension reform project, raising the legal retirement age to 64, against the opinion of the majority of the French working classes, with 62% of the population believing that if the reform is adopted, the demonstrations must inevitably continue, demonstrations which are considered to be the most massive since the strikes of 1995, including workers in the mining and energy industries, garbage collectors, drivers, students, etc… with real popular excitement not seen since the Yellow Vests crisis, with the French refusing to work as slaves until their death.
This reform project will, against the opinion of 93% of the MP’s, be applied thanks to Article 49-3 of the Constitution, allowing the text to be accepted in the absence of votes in Parliament, despite the protests of the vast majority of the National Assembly, including the left NUPES and the extreme right as well.
You can see in this photo the deputies of the NUPES protesting this situation, armed with signs with the writing “64 years is no!” and “Democracy”.

It is obvious that France, after its multiple failures in Africa (Mali, Burkina-Faso, etc…) sees the pies of parasitism disappearing, forcing the bourgeoisie to search in the wallets of the French proletariat, increasing the revolutionary capacities , and gradually putting France into a stage of peripheral imperialism, of a strong colony, very close to southern European countries such as Greece or Italy.
The month of March is the month of the drafting of the program of the National Council of Resistance (March 16) and the proclamation of the Paris Commune, the first experience of the dictatorship of the proletariat and popular democracy (March 18).
It is time for the proletariat of the French Nation, after having lived on imperialism, to regain its right to struggle against the forces of the imperialist-cosmopolitan bourgeoisie, represented by the MEDEF.

Failed Prophecies of the Anti-Ahmadis - Part 2
I recently mentioned how all the prophecies of the Anti-Ahmadis failed since last year. This is another such proof how they not only failed but were utterly shamed.
Last year, Anti-Ahmadis claimed how chanda will decrease. This was repeated all year and even until a couple weeks ago or so.
For example, just look at one of the troll as an example here:
\"Attendance is lower and Chanda is lower\"
Yesterday, Huzur announced the collection of Waqfe Jadid. Last year saw an increase of 9% collection in this scheme. This proves multiple things
  • Assuming that jamaat tajneed is decreasing, the existing Ahmadis increased their pledges by more then 10% at least.
  • Assuming that we did not grow, it was still a significant increase. Removing 9% of one's salary is not something trivial.
Anti-Ahmadis and Islamophobes have been refuted over and over. It gives me second hand embarrassment to witness such naiveness, yet it does nothing to the shameless group.

Note: This Cautious_Dust_4363 is the same user who was lying and spreading false information of ex-communication to deter victims of Domestic violence from seeking help of Police. It was ashameful and disgusting attempt to attack Jamaat at the cost of innocent women. 2022.07.14 16:37 MLCifaretto Israel's Final Solution

Israel's Final Solution
It can be said with no uncertainty whatsoever that there has never been any kind of human being as irrational, hateful, needlessly violent or sanctimonious as a zionist. The conflict between Palestine and the occupation forces calling themselves Israel has been taking place for nearly a century and is the subject of many loud, vibrant debates among the intellectuals and press of the imperial core. What’s important to note here is that these conversations only achieve the illusion of substance by employing numerous lies of omission as it concerns the occupation of Palestine, the actions of Israel and the lack of legitimacy as it concerns both the state and the very concept of Israel.
If anyone with any sense made the grievous error of partaking in these kinds of echo chambers, they would bring up numerous known facts about the zionist terrorist state including the fact that the Gaza Strip and West Bank are occupied illegally since 1967, Israel moves in settlers in occupied territory, Israel launches ballistic missiles and bombs at civilians, Arabs have no rights on land touched by Israel and perhaps most importantly of all, that the jews are both not Semites and not a nation. In response to these points of fact, liberals and apologists for either flank of imperialism will cry about how this fascist state has the “right to exist and defend itself” and moralize about “far-right jihadists” before through their crocodile tears, sputtering the same oblivious, idiotic call for a “two-state solution” that we have heard countless times before.
In reality, these kinds of dialogues are sessions where the beneficiaries of imperialism rationalize their parasitism and find a way to live with themselves in spite of the bodies and existential destruction that lie in their wake. Anyone who knows anything about Israel and doesn’t personally benefit from unipolar imperialist hegemony sees the zionists as the degenerate and lunatic aggressors that they are. Previously, we had compared the genocide that the zionists are committing against the Arabs to the protracted and systematic erasure of the indigenous people of the Americas. While that still applies, there is another notable genocide that the zionists have adapted to serve their ends.

https://preview.redd.it/wrqv5grvkjb91.png?width=461&format=png&auto=webp&s=3c3aa8e2acd68c9de3d7643e00187014b1d27cc9
The victims of this genocide first faced gradual disenfranchising from society, the stripping of their rights and displacement en-masse which finally culminated in an attempt to exterminate them. While this description can generically fit the precursor for any genocide, it is most commonly associated with the Nuremberg laws. The point in bringing any of this up is that apartheid is the precursor to genocide. In order to achieve something so monumental, albeit heinous as pushing a mass of people out of their homes and off their land, it is necessary to use the law against them and strip them, initially of their ability to live normally and finally, of their ability to so much as subsist on their land. What NSDAP did to those classified as jews is what their descendants are doing to the Arabs. For the Arabs living in occupied Palestine the right to their basic necessities and life is not guaranteed. Notwithstanding the illegality of displacing the inhabitants of an occupied zone to move in settlers, the zionists have set numerous laws to make certain that any Arab they find, along with their whole family will go homeless.

https://preview.redd.it/40q5ab0uljb91.png?width=200&format=png&auto=webp&s=21629255493e751e48b3608e815cbbce6e969dfb
The following concerns the seizure and/or destruction of everything from the homes, places of business, burial grounds and anything that could be considered as rightfully Arab by the zionist fascists’ hands. Israel, in defiance of the Arabs’ status as the natives of Palestine and in defiance of reality have set in the law that all structures built by the Palestinians after 1947, without a permit issued by Israel are illegal. Despite the fact that Palestine, its people and the things in it themselves predate these settlers by centuries, Israel will still evict families from their ancestral homes, demolish houses and demolish cemeteries. In addition, even if these genocidal lunatics were to uphold their own laws, it does not change the fact that an Arab without a home or place of employment has no ability to sustain himself.
Those living under this occupation can prove to a certainty that their buildings are up to code, even by the nonsensical standards of the zionist, but it does not matter. At any rate, one living under occupation still needs shelter and employment, so they will obey these racist and idiotic laws and apply for a permit. The permit will not come, no word of any legal proceeding would reach them, so at that point, the structure will have to be built anyway so these people and their families do not perish. Israel, then, taking the very existence of such a structure as an affront will demolish it with no warning or explanation. This is a cycle that will repeat endlessly and it proves definitively that neither any law made by Israel or any apologia in favor of zionists has any meaning. If one looks to the recent demolition campaigns in the neighborhoods of occupied East Jerusalem as well as Muslim burial grounds, it is clear as day that this too, is part of the zionists’ design to dehumanize Arabs and break their spirit. The destruction of Arab homes, their loss of resources, the desecration of graves and the exhumation of corpses all took place so the zionist would have space to erect zionist theme parks (and other such obscenities in the name of tourism).

https://preview.redd.it/hgjcogolljb91.png?width=970&format=png&auto=webp&s=33261622fd89f58f17b7c8c01925accf8c951aa5
We should analyze the fact that even assimilated Arabs who have never known life outside of Israel are still hated and persecuted…
We have seen dozens of evictions of Arabs from occupied land (including East Jerusalem) with a criminal which denies property rights with massive jewish settlements in stolen lands and attacks against Arabs.
The zionist forces explained to us :
Since the evacuation order was issued in 2017, members of the family living in the illegal buildings were given countless opportunities to hand over the land with consent, but unfortunately they refused to do so, even after meetings and repeated dialog attempts by the Jerusalem Municipality.
These people explain to us that the refusal of forfeiting their land is cause for directly evicting these families.
We understand perfectly well that these people don't understand the concept of dignity.
Israel does everything to evict the Masafer Yatta collection of 19 hamlets with eleven other villages during the biggest evictions campaign since some days .
As explained by the fascist and pro-zionist supranational formation called European Union :
The Israeli Supreme Court issued the fourth of May a decision on the Masafer Yatta eviction case in the South Hebron Hills, increasing the risk of the forced transfer of some 1,200 Palestinians and the demolition of their homes.
Even the UN denounced this as a war crime.
The objective is obviously to slowly destroy and collectively retaliate against the Arab population.
For example, we quote Ali Abou al-Qiyan :
We have Israeli identity cards. We work. We respect the law. But all this means nothing to the state. Instead, they tell us that a plant imported from Europe has more rights than a non-jewish person who was born and raised here. This is our so-called democracy..
The eleventh of January 2022, the emissaries from the jewish National Fund decided to colonize the Sawe al-Atrash village in the Negev in the goal of planting thousands of trees, a plan that the palestinian refused and protested against.
As explained by the researcher Marwan Abu Frieh :
These projects, including JNF's forestation plan, are aimed at limiting Palestinian expansion in the area
We can also see the plan by Israeli forces to demolish the Al-Araqeeb village in the southern Negev for the 222nd time (knowing that 7 years ago, 68 Bedouin villages were destroyed, we can calculate that in an average, 22 villages are demolished each year).
This is since decades ago, the policy against the Bedouin community, living in Negev, persecuted by zionist forces with many weeks of crackdowns against them and the direct theft of lands and forced evictions of the populations in planned housing settlements with low quality and economical restrictions.
During a protest led by Bedouin populations, the Israeli special forces made a ”frantic attack” on ”everyone present”.
We can talk about an actual extermination project : in the Negev region of Israel where settler cities have been founded, while 30% of Bedouin populations are unrecognized.
Unrecognized villages are denied any infrastructure or support from the government. There are no means of transportation, no roads, no schools, no water, literally no resources to sustain themselves. The goal is to torment the Arab population and push them out of their historical lands like this article explains greatly.
We can also discuss the slow destruction of Arab refugee camps (which themselves lack water, food, and any necessary resources) coupled with habitual murderous raids in those refugees camps.
For example, in Nour Shams refugee camp located in Tulkarm city, The Israeli forces decided to detain a young man for no logical reason.
Israeli occupation forces raided Qalandia refugee camp and a number of injuries were reported during the clashes that broke out with occupation soldiers.
The Israeli occupation forces even blocked the main street that connects the Jalazoun refugee camp and others towns with Ramallah City to continue the construction parts of the apartheid wall near the illegal settlement of Beit Eil north of Ramallah City.
Almost two years ago, the Israelis arrested Palestinians during a raid in Shufat camp.
This is an actual strategy utilized by zionist fascists. These criminals want to retaliate more and more against the Arab populations, in all areas of life, from the economy to basic human necessities and finally to their mortal well-being…
The goal is again, the slow destruction of the Arab population and their gradual disappearance.
It is an indisputable fact that Israel’s eviction of countless Palestinian families is criminal by any applicable standard. At this point, it is impossible to consider any legal proceeding concerning this matter as anything but self-aggrandizing political theater. By design, it gives the illusion that an Arab living under the occupation of Israel has some legal recourse in the event that they are evicted. In reality, they are bound to lose their homes and not have a copper left to their name. Considering that this concerns the affairs of an occupied territory, entails the displacement of the native population and is all done in the furtherance of tourism and/or colonialism, it is hard to imagine that anyone could exceed this level of both criminality and cruelty. Israel, however, makes the matter infinitely worse when the refugees they have displaced end up in camps.
Seeing as Palestinian homes are inevitably stolen and/or demolished and places of business are routinely demolished, the end result is always going to be ethnic cleansing of Arabs whether or not the occupation forces immediately act upon their instincts for torture and murder. At the point that the displaced Arabs arrive at the camps, their quality of life is dismal. Large families live in housing tents possessing only what is necessary for them to farm, raise cattle and not be entirely cut off from both electricity and clean water. In other words, absent cattle sheds, power generators, water purifiers, these people would be robbed of their ability to even subsist, instead receiving what amounts to a death sentence.
Israel, for no reason other than its whims, will declare these greatly impoverished settlements to be illegal. It requires no elaboration when we consider the demolition of these housing tents tantamount to murder. However, Israel, for no other reason than to make the Palestinian refugees suffer destroys the cattle sheds and steals their sources of power and water. Any zionist who moralizes about their fascist state’s “respect for human rights” is both in bad faith and a brazen liar. There is no reason for the occupation forces to do any of these things unless they wanted the Arabs to die in the most slow and painful manner possible.
Every single legal measure employed by Israel exists for the express purpose of furthering war crimes and genocide and for this reason, there is no greater fool than anyone who takes a zionist at face value. In the aftermath of destroying Arabs’ homes, depriving them of livelihoods and imposing extreme poverty, Israeli occupation forces still fail to cease their harassment and terrorism. Just as homes and cemeteries that have stood for centuries are incomprehensibly considered to be built before 1947 and hence “illegal”, villages and camps occupied by Arabs are considered to be “abandoned”. The occupation forces are known to stalk such settlements and sort the times when there would be the least resistance possible to their banditry.
As it concerns settlements that have been inhabited for years and hence show signs of human life, Israel will declare that they are abandoned and move to demolish. After this, they will form a perimeter around the settlement and refuse to let anyone through. For any zionist who claims that a crime of this magnitude can be a “misunderstanding” or simply a matter of the occupation force’s stupidity, we emphasize the latter point. Prior to any demolition, they would clearly encounter people who live on these settlements and would otherwise have ample proof. The reality is that they create the illusion of an abandoned settlement simply so they can demolish it for the benefit of Israel. Given that these actions concern already illegally occupied lands as everything else that has been stated, these are war crimes and indicative of an ongoing genocide against the Arab nation.
The zionists, in the goal to justify their envy and destroy Arab homes, have only one motive: Tourism! For decades, average, careless settlers have wanted to see ”beautiful” parks made atop the ruins of the destroyed Arab homes and graveyards. Tourists who just want to visit random monuments, whether conscious of the fact or not, support the slow theft and destruction of Arab lands by the zionists’ hands.

https://preview.redd.it/28fh3tj3ljb91.png?width=910&format=png&auto=webp&s=2b8d2b41846c871b5c80683ed3d532240d8b75a0
One of the greatest examples of the criminal nature of zionism and its monstrous character is their lack of respect for dead Arabs. There were many scandals about the demolition of many Arab graveyards and cemeteries to put in place parks or other tourist attractions. For many years, Israel has aspired to everything that would suppress Arab culture and history by using the excuse of tourism in tandem with their claims that the lands where this cemetery belonged to jews a long time ago. We have seen for example a plan by Israel to demolish the Al Youssefiyah graveyard to put in place a national park. Or this time in 2015 when the zionist regime decided to destroy a Bab al-Rahmeh cemetery east of the al-Aqsa Mosque. We have seen many plans by the zionist regime to destroy cemeteries during the 2020 summer for construction plans in Jaffa for the Issaf cemetery. The worst case is Salwa Salem Copty’s one : a woman who lost her father in 1948 when he was killed by the settlers. She now can’t even have the right to receive his body because the cemetery where he was buried was demolished and is inside a military base. We can list too this mother who lost her son killed by colonialists and who was denied the right to see her son before the cemetery where he was buried being demolished with the colonialists repeating to her :
Get out!
She even explained in an interview :
Even the dead were not spared from the savage occupation's brutality.
And she is completely right : the zionists are ready to do everything in their power to systematically destroy Arab culture, even destroying the memories of dead Arabs and indefinitely withholding their bodies. We have also seen numerous instances of the Israeli forces kidnapping young people and subjecting them to immense violence, like Mohamed Al-Bazalmit, a 12 year old boy who was killed or Asala Mansour, young female student, killed by Israeli forces, or the dozens of Arab children kidnapped by zionist forces.

https://preview.redd.it/yqnl886aojb91.png?width=600&format=png&auto=webp&s=f8a555b5495339a9cdf6f00451290df7596c58f1

The goal is to destroy the easiest possible target for a genocidal force : the young and the women. These people who can procreate are considered potential enemies to zionist domination, because Arabs, even assimilated, will always be seen as the supreme enemies, the ones responsible for the fact that the Great Israel project didn’t work for one reason. Even after 70 years of extermination, evictions, massacres, the Arab People still exist. This is a direct affront to zionist domination. Some days, the Palestinian government accused Israel of using dead bodies for medical experiences. Again, the lack of respect for dead bodies is obvious. How can they dare talk about democracy and anti-terrorism when we see such a lack of respect for Arab souls and spirits themselves? We have seen this demolition of Arab spirits through the destructions of graveyards and of young people (the zionists’ future enemies) this victimization existing only in the zionist mind. This inclination to himself become a victim in his own mind, to derail the real question (the ongoing genocide) with another absurd one (”antisemitism”). We can for example see this zionist article explaining to us that :
Specifically picking the crime the jewish people have suffered, perhaps more than any other people in history, is not only to accuse us of a great crime but to negate our suffering as a people,” said Eugene Kontorovich, an international law scholar who has defended Israel’s wartime conduct
And in response to this, the zionist answer is always the same: Accusations of “anti-semitism”
For example Danny Danon, the former Israeli Ambassador at the UN, accused Emma Watson of being an anti-semite because of her support for Palestine.
This is proof that the Zionist intellectuals and politicians seriously believe that Anti-Semitism is a weapon… A weapon to fight against anti-imperialist and any serious Arab Nationalists.
Any actual anti-imperialist and anti-zionist must ignore those baseless accusations used by the zionists and to fight against zionist supremacy by any means necesssary.

https://preview.redd.it/axvdw60cljb91.png?width=910&format=png&auto=webp&s=1396dd83f9b4381af378858a3397263a04a6730b
As can be seen with the examples we have provided along with the way that zionists carry themselves, it is obvious that the manufactured victimhood of the zionists is very cerebral. In the face of all evidence and proof whether it be the existence of Israeli apartheid, their war crimes against Arabs and ultimately the genocide against Arabs, they will mindlessly call “antisemitism”. It is worth noting that in these exchanges, it is not the “anti-semite” who initiates any discussion concerning jews. This is simply the way in which they attempt to derail and silence any acknowledgement of Israel’s criminal and terrorist nature before it takes place. Given the zionists’ unprecedented cruelty, the nature of the accusations and most importantly, the objective truth behind the accusations, it is natural that they would like their own equivalent to the “race card”.
The zionists have occupied Arab land, arbitrarily and illegally claimed ownership of buildings for the express purpose of displacing natives, destroyed countless refugee camps and committed innumerable and unspeakable war crimes. Even those foolish enough to tolerate a “benign” zionist’s rationale realize that these actions are indefensible. The sophistry and deceit required to rationalize this is so immense that a zionist either entirely omits all this information or descends into racist diatribes about the “uncivilized” Arabs. As we have previously mentioned, they have no qualms about placing a claim on a burial ground and condemning it to demolition. This has led to the heinous and distasteful practice of Israel exhuming corpses and demanding that the families move the whole grave. In the event that this kind of inhumane demand is refused by a martyr’s loved ones, they will bulldoze the tombstones before covering the grave in soil. For Israel, the most important part of this protracted humiliation and dehumanization is to twist the blade and rub salt in the wound. This is all in the name of tourism. They fail to treat the Arabs like human beings while they are alive and will not cease the dehumanization even after putting them in the ground.

No one (except perhaps an undisciplined and severely sociopathic child) should need to be told, but even if ignoring everything else, the zionist fails to even consider that a burial ground is considered sacred and that the dead are to be left to rest. The simple explanation is one that’s publicly acknowledged by these degenerates. Their state exists to further the regional interests of the western colonizers and to the zionist, creating a theme park over what was a graveyard, even over the bodies is no object. To them, homes, graves and the people they are meant for are less important than the money they stand to make by building a zionist amusement park. If this is allowed to continue unabated, the only result will be the systematic erasure of the Arab nation. We know they will employ historical revisionism at the point, that it is no longer only the matter of their extinguishing the lives and all traces of families and communities, but the existence of a whole nation. To the fascist settlers who occupy this land, they will treat the Arabs as if they never existed at all. The goal of the zionist is to dehumanize the Arabs to such an extent that they abandon their land, welcome their assimilation and capitulate to the demands of imperialists. Israel not only exists on top of Palestine, but on top of the countless bodies it has left in its wake. From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free.

2022.07.02 00:28 MLCifaretto Jenin: The New Gaza

Jenin: The New Gaza
There are few causes of more vital importance to the anti-imperialist cause than the liberation of Palestine. It is not possible to uphold the right each nation has to its state and sovereignty and the right that each people has to their continued existence without standing in firm opposition to the existence of Israel and standing for the just cause of the Palestinian people. Though the zionist occupation forces calling themselves Israel has been carrying out possibly the worst genocide in history ever since its establishment, it is only in recent times that there has been widespread and public acknowledgement of the criminal and terrorist nature of the Israeli regime. At long last, it is impossible to deny the genocide, not just of Palestinians, but of the whole Arab nation.
Gaza, which is the most densely populated area in the world, has become uninhabitable as of 2020 with there being no clean or running water, with access to both crops and fish being constricted and electricity only being on for but a few hours in the day. Israel is known to regularly commit war crimes, including but not limited to the use of white phosphorus, ballistic missiles and dropping bunker-busting bombs on civilians. In whatever territory it claims for itself, it regularly displaces Arab civilians in favor of moving in settlers, which itself is a violation of international treaties. This is the fate the zionist swine have sentenced the Gaza Strip to, which is not only more densely populated than anywhere else on earth, but also under constant embargo.
The Zionists try to justify this blockade coupled with terrorist attacks against an Arab land by talking about a so-called ”islamist threat” intentionaly neglecting to mention that the Hamas, the strongest resistant organization against Zionist agression in Gaza, tried to negotiate for peace in exchange for lifting the embargo. This was a peace that the Zionist terrorist state always refused.
Despite all this, numerous bad faith actors love to speak on this matter, moralize about the holocaust, cry about the murder of jews and then act as if any of that justifies the existence of Israel. These people may hold the actions of Israel in contempt, not understanding that the root of these atrocities is in the existence of Israel and the zionism upon which it is predicated. Israel is an illegitimate state and an abomination that exists not only on top of Palestine, but on top of all Arab land spreading its occupation and settlers like a cancer. In point of fact, the jews are a religious group, belonging to various European nations including the Anglosphere.
Their native languages, the people with whom they share territory historically and their entire bloodline have absolutely nothing to do with the lands they have settled. Whatever history they appeal to notwithstanding, the Arabs have inhabited the lands they zealously covet for centuries and are the only established nation in the Middle East and North Africa. This speaks to the legitimacy of Arab nationalism whereas the existence of the Israeli state is predicated on the zionist myth. Under the pretense of “restoring” a kingdom existing only in myth, a state known as Israel was formed for the express purpose of spreading imperialist influence in the region while further balkanizing the Arab nation. Palestine is not even the only Arab land illegally occupied and left in shambles by Israel. This extends to Lebanon and Syria as well if we look only to lands that Israel presently occupies. To acknowledge the existence of the zionists’ greater Israel project and to understand the zionist myth is to know that they will not stop short at the Palestinian trench to achieve the full extermination of Arabs and the full occupation of their land.
This goal is similar to what was the European original goal in the Americas: the progressive destruction of the diverse autochthon populations by establishing European colonies, and massive economical restrictions against native populations to step by step destroy these cultures and nations which are now only folklores and locked in embargoed reservations in a situation that is not unlike Gaza. The indigenous peoples of the Americas did not immediately lose all their land and were not all immediately exterminated or assimilated by the yankees. It was a systematic and cruel cycle which lasted a great deal of time to not only extinguish the natives’ lives but their nations as a whole. The same way the yankee would moralize about the savages and “bringing civilization”, the zionist will complain about “Arab jihadis” to justify their genocide. This is no different than Manifest Destiny. The essence of Manifest Destiny is not any different than the myth of the zionist fascist. Both are myths, fully divorced from reality with their chauvinism allowing the larger occupying country to justify genocide.
https://preview.redd.it/5tqttg0a81991.png?width=476&format=png&auto=webp&s=626644450a78f4a097ef0932f64468df1a6cab6d
This is of great concern to all Arabs in spite of whatever arbitrary borders were drawn by the British colonialists. The zionists, with complete disregard for the native population, how many millions they would displace or how many atrocities they would commit would appeal to the judeo-christian myths to justify ethnically cleansing the whole of Arabia and their imperialist benefactors would back them up by emphatically endorsing the racialist pseudo-science of NSDAP. Even if the absurdity of claiming the jews are an ethnic group is lost on you, we implore you to at least not take neo-colonialist filth at face value and acknowledge their own stated goals. We bring up the greater Israel project in general and Gaza in particular for obvious, albeit still grossly understated reasons. Gaza is only the beginning and all Arab land is to follow. This serves the zionist goal of displacing Arabs, expanding Israel’s borders and spreading settlers like the plague. Like we said previously :
This effectively proved that Israel not only wants to genocide the Arabs, but also starve them or otherwise torment them in the interim. They have now clarified this position by cutting off their supply to fish as well. There is absolutely no ambiguity or nuance to be considered in this matter. If any part of you genuinely cares for human rights, the very existence of Israel must be opposed. Glory to Palestine.
This can be seen in cities like Jenin which, like Gaza, are left at the mercy of the occupation forces. Israel not only has control of the city’s water supply, it also can decide on the range of their fishing zone and decide, entirely at random which non-profit organizations are “terrorists” and shut them down. This leaves the Arabs with no recourse, no food, no water, no electricity and in point of fact, no quality of life, a situation which lasts since 2002 and the Second Intifada where the Israelis started to massacre Arabs and destroy refugees camps, shocking the International (even Zionist) community. This is not sustainable and the jews in their great “benevolence and charity” will afford them a slightly less severe occupation in exchange for their land. This will repeat endlessly. They will oppress and kill Arabs while absolving themselves of their crimes (to westerners) by granting stolen overtures to the people they genocide.

The Palestinian government denounced this genocidal operation in Jenin last April declaring :
Israel’s decision to impose additional forms of collective punishment for the Palestinian people is a criminal act under international laws and is incompatible with its obligations under the international law. (...)
there israeli crimes are rooted in the entrenchment of the settler colonial occupation based on race domination and discrimination (...) and the strategic fragmentation of the State in separate areas of the same population control.

https://preview.redd.it/eljib6ff81991.png?width=770&format=png&auto=webp&s=87a57c8964ceea5a6494099f8de58e5c031bac2f
We have seen this situation with many examples of the outright murder of Palestinains during the last weeks and months.
For example, one month ago, the fascist Israeli forces decided to raid the refugee camps in Jenin.
two weeks ago, the IDF started opening fire on three Palestian men. The cameraman is saying :
They broke the cars, the car is broken…
You can also see the destroyed car which belonged to one of these three men.
More recently, Mohamed Marei, 25, got killed by the Israeli forces during one of the many raids in the West Bank like this one in Silwad, which is proof of Israeli aggression and its destructive tendencies during the raids, used as ways to terrify and completely destroy the morale of the Arab population, as well as a way to kill impetuous young men, destroying a whole Generation of future spawners (”future enemies” according to the Zionist theory where even children or women are regarded as terrorists by the Jewish colonizer).

https://preview.redd.it/9dqufjrh81991.png?width=300&format=png&auto=webp&s=20c06f5b16ea5606dbf6d1ebe9d30b46faf2e1a0
The Israeli forces made everything step by step to physically destroy the Arab population in Palestine and disperse it through raids and massacres. This is an actual methodology to exterminate the Arabs. They prioritize the slow death of the young Arab men and women. The Arabs are more and more dispersed and economically face retaliation with many restrictions like never before.
In short we see a full large scale genocide which will be completed in two or three generations if the colonization of the Arab Lands is not stopped.
An active majority of the Jewish population participates in the colonization, through popular militias and a mandatory conscription, meaning that the Jewish population is by itself colonialist and that the famous argument used by the Post-Zionists (more active pro-Zionists!) of a Jewish population which is against the direct destruction of Arab population is absurd when we actually see the reality of the situation. The entirety of the Jewish population in Palestine supported all the Zionists’ policies, and lives in Israel for its own reasons and not because it was ”forced”. The fact that this population participates repeatedly in an Apartheid system is obvious to any serious person (if they were against this Zionist system, why would they live in this fake state in the first place?). This is because this population knows that the Arabs will most likely die in two or three generations if this colonization is not stopped and so don’t need to justify themselves (did the European logically justify their colonization of Native American continent apart from an absurd theological Manifest Destiny? Did the Germans logically justify the colonization of the Slavic Eastern Europe apart from an absurd theological Lebensraum of the great Aryan Race? Do the Jews really need to justify the colonization of Arab lands apart from an absurd theological Holy Land?).
We have seen a massive support of the Zionist population for the racist policies in West Bank including the seizure of lands belonging to Palestinians, the destruction of Palestinian homes (even a Zionist human rights organization denounced this) and the restrictions of child registrations and family unifications (and other laws regarding lands tenure, private property, activities of the Army which make everything possible to legally and textually retaliate the Arab population).
We have viewed lynchings and terrorist attacks by average young adults or Zionist militias used in a way to progressivily frustrate and scare the population and make it flee their thousands old lands (i.e gift them to Zionists).
This is an active participation of the Jewish population in the destruction of the Arab population, which plays an important role in the economical and racial destruction of Arab inside their so-called ”Holy Land”, by raids, theft of Arab lands and economic exclusion.

https://preview.redd.it/blz60mrl81991.png?width=948&format=png&auto=webp&s=d42d6eacc7baa3c9364e7941b8cdf19a2f9b5450
The methodology behind the zionist occupation of Palestine betrays that it is, not only a genocide, but one nearly identical to the yankees’ systematic erasure of Native Americans. It is obvious to anyone who follows these events in a serious capacity that the zionists do not have a leg to stand on as it concerns their serial violations of international treaties because the goal was always to move in settlers and expand Israel’s borders. There are homes, places of business and burial grounds that’s existence predate this zionist colony, yet as should be expected of them at this point, they will affront all that is decent so they may realize the goal of “Israel the empire”. Every aspect of this occupation shows, clear as day, that the Arabs lack funds, self-determination and the ability to defend themselves while the zionists are a hostile, well-armed colonial force, bankrolled by the imperialist powers. When a native nation’s land is occupied illegally, there are economic embargoes and constant bombing in tandem with the near complete destruction of infrastructure and still the zionist cries crocodile tears and behaves as a victim, it is obvious that genocide is no object to them. It is obvious, even taking the zionist at face value that they will seize all Arab land and extinguish the inhabitants’ lives to achieve their goals.
What’s not acknowledged nearly enough is the measures that the zionists take in breaking the Arab nation’s spirit. As previously mentioned, in seizing historically Arab land, killing Arabs en-masse and stripping them of the most basic rights, the end result will be identical to what has become of the indigenous people of the Americas. A once proud nation would be relegated to concentration camps or reservations and stereotyped for these parasites’ amusement. Even if we decided to apply the standards of war to Israel, its violence is systematic and the settlers truly go above and beyond to dehumanize the Palestinian people. What these genocidal lunatics have done in the West Bank and Gaza strip notwithstanding, there is the matter of how they handle the bodies of martyred Palestinians.

https://preview.redd.it/6jrw3f7p81991.png?width=612&format=png&auto=webp&s=fe0abdf0ce1c274ea7eb81e82914b0ab8100eccb
The Zionists are known to hold bodies indefinitely, for years on end, with no regard for grieving family members.. In addition, not even corpses or burial grounds are off-limits to these fascist degenerates. As has been well documented, as in the cases of homes they declare to be built “illegally”, they will say the same regarding cemeteries. At the point that Israel decrees that a graveyard was not constructed legally, they will exhume corpses, send in a team to bulldoze the tombstones and cover the grave itself with soil so they may build on top of it. This is some demented, repugnant filth that one only encounters in the worst fever dream, but Israel has caused it to manifest in reality. There is nothing that the occupation forces hold sacred. This is an illegitimate state which will attack the Arabs’ spirit at its very core, depriving them of the right to live and not even affording base respect for the dead. These obscenities will not end until this monstrosity calling itself Israel is eliminated.

2022.02.20 01:30 Markathian [EVENT] Latakia Conference, Commitment to Syrianization

The Baath Party, Communist Party and SSNP have all arrived in Latakia for the conference on the subject of the Nation’s direction and the creation of a new government. One thing that is clear to Assad, Jadid and Saadeh is that the course set by the UAR had failed. They failed to understand the threat sectarianism truly posed, they failed to build a strong national identity, their focus on Israel while admirable ignored the lurking threat of the reactionary monarchies still in our rear.
Thus one point of agreement is this, the future of the region and the Arab world will be defined by the struggle against reactionaries. It is impossible to defeat Zionism while nations like Saudi Arabia sit in the rear with daggers at the ready to silence any true chance of victory and liberation of Palestine. Perhaps in some ways they are the greater foe, as at least Israel is our stated enemy, the reactionary cabal led by Saudi Arabia pretends to be our allies while secretly plotting with thieving foreigners.
Furthermore, the AIR is mobilizing the population with the creation of a virulent reactionary ideology which often emulates Marxist mass mobilization tactics. To counter this we must present the people with our own ideology capable of energizing their spirit.
The spiritual mobilization of the nation appears to be one of the key pillars upon which any future policy must rest.
Given the historical strong ties between the SSNP and Communist party, which have been broken or faltered, especially as they fought side by side in Lebanon, they are in an optimal position to bridge these divides.
The way we have construed the creation of a new post colonial society has clearly resulted in the amplification of reactionary thought, that seeks to undermine the unity of our people for its colonial masters.
Assad was once a member of the SSNP as well, and the group has only grown in popularity recently due to its strong anti Khomeini stance. With their huge support and massive exodus from Lebanon it has only accelerated. Assad also can agree on this one point with Saadeh, their conception of the Arab people is not one of the desert but one of the Fertile crescent, of Babylon, Mesopotamia, and Assyria.
Thus with the SSNP possessing 40% of the voting bloc, the Left Ba’ath 10% and the Assadists 40%, the passage of the SSNP policies are almost a foregone conclusion.
The reconstruction of the conception of the Fertile Crescent as a nation is now needed as times and conditions change.
Rifaat Al Assad has been made President and Antoun Saadeh Prime Minister. All three have signed a resolution agreeing to honour the SSNP’s new ideological pact and have committed to a process of political reconstruction. (this also means the new structure must make sure Assad is kept in a leadership role)

2021.12.30 14:06 Fearless-Munda Rabia Inqilabi: A conspiracy against the Jamaat in the time of Hazrat Khalifatul Masih III

Hazrat Musleh-e-Maud’sra Khilafat spans just over half a century. Many children were born in that period, grew and matured, got married and had children; all in that blessed time.
Thus, Ahmadis and non-Ahmadis alike could not imagine the Ahmadiyya Jamaat without Hazrat Musleh-e-Maudra.
Every human must leave this temporal abode and so, Hazrat Mirza Bashiruddin Mahmud Ahmad, Khalifatul Masih II, Al-Musleh al-Maudra, having lived an extraordinary life and having set the Jamaat on the paths of triumph and prosperity, departed this world.
This was no less a hopeful moment for opponents of Ahmadiyyat – opportunistic as they have always been. Munafiqeen – hypocrites – saw this as an apt moment for their intrigues too. They deemed this opportunity to be most fitting to launch an attack on Khilafat-e-Ahmadiyya.
Allah, the Most High, bestowed the mantle of Khilafat to Hazrat Mirza Nasir Ahmadrh. Meanwhile, seditionists and mischief-makers began their attacks.
The attacks started by maligning Huzoor’srh intellectual capabilities. They then went on to mock the subjects selected for Friday Sermons. He was accused of nepotism, and also of using the Jamaat’s funds for leading a luxurious lifestyle.
When no such attack brought back their desired results, the munafiqeen and other opponents resorted to the same tactics as employed by munafiqeen during the time of the Holy Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him – the tactic of moral mudslinging on personal characters.
History repeating itself
While expounding on the verses of Surah al-Nur, Hazrat Musleh-e-Maudra has explained something very eloquently in his commentary, Tafsir-e-Kabir. He says:
“The very surah in which Allah has taken the responsibility of establishing Khilafat on Himself, He has also outlined the Event of Ifk.”
Huzoorra went on to explain its purpose: By attributing such a vile crime to Hazrat Aishara, the munafiqeen desired to extinguish the possibility of Hazrat Abu Bakrra – who was the closest companion of the Holy Prophetsa – succeeding him as the Khalifa. In this way, the intrigue of Ifk was a means of hurt for the Holy Prophetsa and an attempt to hinder any possibility of the establishment of Khilafat.
From 1965 (the outset of the Third Khilafat) until 1972, opponents and munafiqeen in the Jamaat spent their time desperately searching for opportunities to attack. They eventually sought to benefit from what they had, by now, learned – the Ahmadiyya Jamaat considered it beneath the status of divine communities to respond to immoral tactics.
Thus, the character and person of Hazrat Khalifatul Masih IIIrh, and the Ahmadis of Rabwah, were maligned in an immoral and spiteful manner. Such accusations are not worthy of being copied here, but every assault came with the demand that Hazrat Mirza Nasir Ahmadrh was not worthy of being called the Khalifa and so, should either renounce his Khilafat, or members of the Jamaat should rebel and stand against it.
A united front – Munafiqeen and other opponents
As has been mentioned in a previous article about the conspiracies of 1927 and 1937, opportunist enemies, opponents and munafiqeen alike rose up shoulder-to-shoulder against the Ahmadiyya Jamaat. On this occasion too, history repeated itself and the same reaction was witnessed.
The newspaper of the ghair muba‘ieeen [those who refused to perform bai‘at at the hand of the Second Khalifa, also known as the Lahori Jamaat] the Paigham-e-Sulh maintained its habit of not only accepting the claims of the munafiqeen without any substantiation, but publishing them too.
During this time, sensational headlines such as “Khilafat-e-Rabwah ki Batalat” [Falsity of the Rabwah Khilafat] and “Khilafat-e-Rabwah Mein Intishar” [Tremors in the Rabwah Khilafat] were seen in the Paigham-e-Sulh newspaper. Thus, every attempt was made to plant doubts in the minds of members of Jamaat-e-Ahmadiyya.
Reaction of Hazrat Khalifatul Masih III(rh)
Hazrat Khalifatul Masih IIIrh delivered his Friday Sermon of 10 March 1972 in Masjid Mubarak, Rabwah. In his sermon, Huzoorrh provided emphatic and pragmatic guidance on how to respond to such conspiracies and similar conspiracies in the future.
Huzoorrh recited the Quranic verse of:
اِنَّ‭ ‬الۡمُنٰفِقِيۡنَ‭ ‬فِي‭ ‬الدَّرۡكِ‭ ‬الۡاَسۡفَلِ‭ ‬مِنَ‭ ‬النَّارِ
“The hypocrites shall surely be in the lowest depths of the Fire” (Surah al-Nisa, Ch.4: V.146), before continuing to say:
“A munafiq [hypocrite] will be in the harshest fires of Hell because the Holy Quran states that they continuously seek to create disorder and mischief, and although they are mischief-makers, they appear in the guise of reformists.”
He said: “The Holy Prophetsa said, ‘A sign of a munafiq is that when they speak, they utter lies [Sahih Muslim, Kitab al-Iman, Bab Khasa‘il al-Munafiq]. In their every word is a lie.”
While elaborating on the characteristics of a munafiq, Huzoorrh said:
“For instance, if a person says, ‘I saw the sun rise at such and such time’, and that was, in fact, the time of sunrise which they witnessed for themselves, then in this case, it is true. However, to say, ‘I saw the sun rise’, and before finishing the statement, to then say, ‘In the direction of the mosque, I also saw a 10-headed man flying in the sky’, it would not be considered the truth; rather, you would consider such a person’s statement a lie because the entire statement was fabricated, even though parts of it were potentially true in that the sun did rise […]. But they used that as a foundation for their lie; therefore, the entire statement will be seen as false.”
Huzoorrh said: “In the time of Hazrat Musleh-e-Maudra […], conspiracies by munafiqeen were hatched from time to time; for example, the Misri conspiracy. As our younger generations may not have read about these incidents, therefore they may be unfamiliar with them.
“Then, there was the conspiracy of Fakhruddin Multani. Such conspiracies are hatched so as to prevent us from falling into slumber because Allah the Almighty wants to see us awake and alert.”
After this, in reference to the allegations raised by the munafiqeen, Huzoorrh said:
“To explain this further, I will present some examples. There are many other allegations which they continue to raise, on hearing which, according to your levels of faith, you will have become infuriated. Perhaps you pray for them too that Allah may give them guidance […]”.
Some accusations that Huzoorrh mentioned and regarding which he removed misconceptions, are briefly presented below:
1. “This is a strange Khalifa who talks about horses during his sermons”
In reference to this, Huzoorrh said, “When I talked of horses in my sermon”, which was in a certain context, “I also instructed that all sayings of the Holy Prophetsa and Khulafa-e-Rashidin regarding horses be compiled.”
Huzoorrh picked up a notepad and said, “This notepad which you see in my hand, I have named ‘Kitab-ul-Khayl’ [Book of Horses] and it spans 400 pages. Most of the sayings included in this are of the Holy Prophetsa.”
Huzoorrh said: “So if the King of the Spiritual Heavens, despite having said so much about horses, remains King of the Spiritual Heavens, then if his humble Khalifa says certain things to you regarding horses […], to then object to it by saying, ‘This is a strange Khalifa’ […] is mere mischief.”
2. Doubts about the expenditure of funds from Tahrik-e-Jadid and Waqf-e-Jadid
Huzoorrh briefly highlighted how the funds of Tahrik-e-Jadid and Waqf-e-Jadid were utilised. He also explained the background of this accusation as well.
“And the example presented in support of this [accusation] is worth listening to. They say, ‘Look, if Mian Tahir Ahmad Sahib has to travel to Karachi, he travels by air, whereas when the missionaries of Tahrik-e-Jadid have to travel abroad, they are not afforded this luxury […]
“Mian Tahir has not travelled once to Karachi for Waqf-e-Jadid tasks. Now, this is merely an accusation because he has never travelled to Karachi for Waqf-e-Jadid responsibilities.”
Huzoorrh said that after every few weeks or months, when a missionary had to travel abroad for tabligh, they all did so by air. Thus, by hiding half the facts, they falsely accused Hazrat Sahibzada Mirza Tahir Ahmadrh.
Hazrat Khalifatul Masih IIIrh said: “Whoever hears this that ‘Mian Tahir travelled to Karachi by aeroplane, whereas our missionaries based abroad do not get to travel by aeroplane’, if not them then our children will certainly ask, ‘What is all this?’”
In this manner, Huzoorrh explained that the actual targets of munafiqeen were the younger generations whose minds they sought to exploit.
3. “All Jamaat positions are assigned to family members of the Promised Messiah”
Huzoorrh explained that this was not the first time that such an allegation was made; rather, it was made during the time of the Second Khalifa also. Huzoorrh then named almost all the departments and said that many nazirs [directors of Sadr Anjuman Ahmadiyya] and department heads did not belong to the family of the Promised Messiahas.
Huzoorrh said: “Thus, to utter whatever falsehood and lie comes to one’s mind and to foolishly think that the world will not see your true face, or that the world will not notice your mischief, or that the world will not say anything to you even after seeing the truth, is your sheer ignorance. But how do you consider that you will be able to conceal these actions from God Almighty and save yourselves from His wrath?”
4. Khulafa are not divinely appointed, but man-made
Hazrat Khalifatul Masih IIIrh said: “This accusation was made against Hazrat Khalifa Ira; the same accusation was made against Hazrat Khalifa IIra and today, the same accusation is being repeated against me.”
Thereafter, Huzoorrh narrated the events that unfolded during the time of the First Khalifa’s election and the rising opposition in the time of the Second Khalifa’s election. After that, Huzoorrh narrated the events of the Third Khalifa’s election and how the Khilafat Electoral Committee, as outlined by Hazrat Musleh-e-Maudra, came into action and God bestowed on Huzoorrh this responsibility.
Huzoorrh said that the allegation that Khulafa were elected by humans and not divinely appointed was answered by Hazrat Khalifatul Masih Ira in the following words:
“This is an indication of rafidi [anti-Khilafat] tendencies that you bring this up. You ought to complain to God why he chose a Khalifa from Bhera. Some ask, ‘What does a Khalifa even do? He teaches children’ […] Some say that he is in love with books and remains indulged in reading. Blame me of as much incapability as you like; they will only be directed towards the God Who chose me to be the Khalifa.” (Badr, 11 July 1912)
After this, Hazrat Khalifatul Masih IIIrh said that some people had started discussing Khilafat and mujaddids [Muslim reformers who were to appear at the turn of every century after the Prophetsa]. With reference to the election of Khilafat being from Allah the Almighty, Huzoorrh provided a sublime explanation of the words لَيَسْتَخْلِفَنَّهُمْ from Ayat-e-Istikhlaf, thereby removing any misconceptions.
5. Khalifa’s personal allowance and Khilafat Electoral Committee
Huzoorrh then mentioned two more allegations, which the munafiqeen had raised regarding the Khalifa’s personal allowance and the Khilafat Electoral Committee as established by Hazrat Musleh-e-Maudra. Huzoorrh explained that with the establishment of this committee, even the ghair mubai‘een expressed this, that if only it had been established during the time of Hazrat Khalifatul Masih Ira.
As regards the allowance of the Khalifa, Huzoorrh said, “I do not need a single penny from the Anjuman. Allah has promised to Khilafat-e-Ahmadiyya:
ميں‭ ‬تينوں‭ ‬اينا‭ ‬دياں‭ ‬گا‭ ‬كہ ‬تو‭ ‬رَج‭ ‬جائيں‭ ‬گا
“[‘I shall provide you with so much that it will satiate you.’]”
Huzoorrh said that from an administrative perspective, to accept a proposal of the shura was altogether a different matter.
“To fix an allowance so as not to cause inconvenience to Khulafa in the future is a different matter altogether. However, I do not take anything from the Jamaat; rather, I only spend in the cause of the Jamaat. The Quranic education of سِرًّا prohibits me from going into details.”
Huzoorrh said: “The munafiqeen have said that I have plentiful means of income. I would like to say that this sentence is completely true. I am blessed with various means of income in this way that the Custodian of all worldly wealth and treasures told me:
‭ ‬ميں‭ ‬تينوں‭ ‬اينا‭ ‬دياں‭ ‬گا‭ ‬كہ ‬تو‭ ‬رَج‭ ‬جائيں‭ ‬گا
“Thus, I am indeed blessed with plentiful means of income.”
Inciting rebellion through Hazrat Khalifatul Masih I’s family
Hazrat Khalifatul Masih IIIrh said that when Hazrat Musleh-e-Maudra – after trying his best not to resort to this – eventually excommunicated some children of Hazrat Khalifatul Masih Ira from the Jamaat to protect the Jamaat from mischief, the Paighamis [Lahoris] incited them to rebellion. Huzoorrh, in the words of Hazrat Musleh-e-Maudra, described the conspiracy of the Paighamis in the following words:
“One of them, Muhammad Hussain Cheema, published an article saying, ‘Our nizam [system], our platforms and our Jamaat are at your service. Well done! Keep standing resiliently. Do not feel threatened by Mirza Mahmud. Obliterate his Khilafat. Our help is with you.’” (Khilafat-e-Haqqa Islamiya, Speech delivered by Hazrat Musleh-e-Maudra on the occasion of Jalsa Salana 1956)
Hazrat Khalifatul Masih IIIrh said:
“This is what the Paighamis said to the mischief-makers at that time, and today they have offered the same to those creating unrest today […] Since hypocrisy is always concealed and tries not to be seen, therefore their leaders have appeared in the form of a veiled woman named ‘Rabia Inqilabi’ [literally meaning Rabia the Revolutionist].”
After this, Huzoorrh read out the message of this “woman”, Rabia Inqilabi, which she had addressed to the members of the Jamaat:
“Thus, for the fruition of this revolution, your cooperation is crucial […] Most certainly, you are about to embark on a new chapter of history, through your cast iron will-power […].
“Friends! You are the real source of strength. The Jamaat exists only because of you. Until you realise the strength you possess, your issues cannot be resolved. Therefore, to bring about law and order and social justice, you ought to intensify your efforts.”
Huzoorrh read out a line from the message of this mischievous “lady”:
“In the race of material gains, has Rabwah not turned into a hub of immoral acts and illicit relations?”
After reading out this seditious sentence, Huzoorrh said:
“While they see Rabwah as a hub of immoral and illicit acts and relationships, they ask inhabitants of such a place to stand up for a revolution. O hypocrites and ignorant people, what good do you expect from people who you accuse of acts that are most accursed in the eyes of Allah?”
These seditious characters attempted to further incite Ahmadis towards rebellion by writing on behalf of Rabia Inqilabi:
“My courageous and dedicated friends! The fort of this kingdom has been cracked. All that is needed now is a strong push. Rise up and come forward to bring down the Haman of this age and his conscienceless agents. Do this to prove that the Haman can no longer hide behind robes of faith. Get up and show courage. Step forward and kick the throne of this kingdom.”
The result of this conspiracy
Hazrat Khalifatul Masih IIIrh explained this entire disorder and presented it before the Jamaat in this manner. He warned the conspirators by saying:
“If you dare to kick the fort of this divinely established Khilafat, you will be completely destroyed to the extent that no sign will be left of you.”
The result of this conspiracy was the same as that of any conspiracy plotted against divine communities of God. In a short space of time, this conspiracy vanished back into thin air; a sign from the Almighty Allah to the munafiqeen once more to show how He stands up against any onslaught of opponents of Khilafat ; as it is He Who established that Khilafat in the first place.
We conclude with the words of Hazrat Khalifatul Masih IIIrh, which he said while addressing the conspirators and regarding members of the Jamaat:
“O ignorant ones! […] You were not able to understand these people [Ahmadis]. You could not read their pulse. You do not realise what these people are made of. You are completely oblivious to the fact that these people are intoxicated with the love of the man who, despite the heavy opposition of the world, announced:
ميری ‬فطرت‭ ‬ميں‭ ‬ناكامی ‬كا‭ ‬خمير‭ ‬نہيں‭ ‬ہے
“[‘Failure is not part of my design’] Thus, failure is not destined for [any Ahmadi]. Your voices will sound lower than that of a jackal, which can sometimes be heard at night.
“O coward and hypocrite jackals! […] You do not know – no, you do not know – what sort of a nation this is; how powerful it is; what the source of its power is; how devoted it is to the Holy Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, and how dear it is to his spiritual son, the Promised Messiahas. How could you even gauge the strength of this edifice that we call Jamaat-e-Ahmadiyya? Tread very carefully […].
“How can you reach those who are soaring high above you? Use your brain; use your brain; use your brain.”
This answer to the munafiqeen, which was given by Hazrat Khalifatul Masih IIIrh, became a means of foiling this conspiracy.
This is the answer of Jamaat-e-Ahmadiyya today and this shall be its answer in the future, insha-Allahu Ta‘ala.

2021.09.28 20:08 oew-online China’s Overtures in Syria Show Concern Over Turkistan Islamic Party Fighters

By Lucas Winter August 2021
In mid-July, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi visited Syria in what was the highest-level Chinese government visit since the start of the Syrian conflict, timed to coincide with the swearing-in of Bashar al-Assad following his most recent election. Amidst widespread speculation regarding the visit’s meaning to the future of Sino-Syrian relations and China’s role in the Middle East, several local media analyses have linked China’s new focus on Syria to concerns over the future of Syria-based Uyghur jihadists from the “Turkistan Islamic Party” (TIP) (for more on the TIP see: “The Knotted Future of the Turkistan Islamic Party in Syria,” OE Watch, January 2019).
According to the first accompanying excerpt, from Egypt’s semiofficial al-Ahram, China is concerned that the Syria-based Uyghur jihadists from the TIP may seek refuge in Afghanistan, leaving China with the difficult choice of either doing nothing or becoming more deeply involved in Afghanistan. The opinion piece from the prominent pro-Qatari al-Araby al-Jadid agrees that China is increasingly concerned about the TIP, specifically about the potential for the United States to use the group against Chinese interests. Beyond the symbolism and diplomatic platitudes in Foreign Minister Wang’s visit to Syria, the author argues, unless the TIP was a central topic of discussion, the Chinese visit to Damascus does not add anything new to China’s Syria policy.
Last June, a TIP official was killed by an IED in the Syrian town of Salqin, near the border with Turkey. As noted in the accompanying article from the pro-Syrian opposition news website al-Modon, the killing may have been part of a broader campaign against the TIP, launched by the Syrian government with encouragement and support from China. According to the article, in early 2021 a Chinese “military-commercial” delegation visited Syrian government positions in Idlib Province, possibly laying the foundations for supporting an anti-TIP campaign. The article adds that China has supplied the Syrian military with JY-27 radars and unspecified “jamming and communication devices and equipment for night combat” to help its efforts in Idlib. The second excerpt from al-Modon sees the TIP as a valuable card that many parties will seek to play, including the Syrian government, which may use the TIP’s presence in Syria to gain concessions and support from China. The article’s author surmises that the TIP is likely to gain in prominence as various parties seek to use it to their advantage, whether in Syria, Central Asia, or both.

Speculation about Syria

\"A day will come when the nationalists will find themselves the only defenders of Islam. They will have to give a special meaning to it if they want the Arab nation to have a good reason for survival.\"- Michel Aflaq, founder of the Ba'athist movement.
Hello! This is just some speculation I had about the various ones. So let us dive right in and start talking about it.

Husni al-Za'im

\"A man without enemies is a man without character\" Paul Newman, almost certainly not talking about this
Husni al Zaim, or rather Husni al-Za'im was a syrian military officer, and politician of kurdish origin. Zaim had first been an officer in the Ottoman army, then the French when they took control of the region,, and finally became Chief of Staff of Syria in Syrian independence. He would lead the Syrian Army against Israeli forces. After which the failiure of such a war, he took advantage of the undermined confidence from this war to take control, and destroy the country's democracy, becoming a dictator as the 9th president of Syria. He would die a few months after this however.
In our time line it was alleged that the CIA had engineered the coup that brought him to power, while there is no evidence to currently suggest this, it does speak to his priorities, as one of the first things he did after the coup was ratifying the Trans-Arabian Pipeline.
The Trans-Arabian pipeline was an oil pipeline that went from Saudia Arabia to Lebanon (crossing through southern Syria), connecting the Persian Gulf oil with the Mediterranium, and an improtant factor in American-Middle Eastern development. It was rather controversial at the time however, I imagine that as Zaim (and potentially as the others should they side with America) There may be such an oil pipeline, though hiccups may be in the road, if the OFN have Italy they are unlikely to support you in general, but it may be a second best situation to have in the event. It may also run into troubles if say, Israel or the partition is there. This is a more broad idea though, but at any rate, in the turning alliances between all the factions, this pipeline will likely end up playing a part, and to a greater extent the oil itself.
As for Zaim himself, he was rather secular, with propols for among other things, the emancipation of women, and suggesting that women should give up the veil. He also OTL signed a ceasefire with Israel and raised taxes on businessmen, which helped to cut down local support as he made deals with US oil companies for the Trans-Arabian pipeline mentioned above. He made a peace overture to Israel as well, which may signal a more dove-stature to foreign policy, as well as possibly a way to avoid an Arab-Israeli war in the event that Israel exists. He evenhelped settle palestinian refugees in Syria as part of the cease-fire deal, though Tel Aviv was not responsive.
OTL Zaim had quickly lost his popular support because of his cruel and unusual punishments, American connections, ceasefire with Israel, controversial social policies, and banning the fez., which led to his rule not even surviving four months, ending with his execution. If you're playing as him, it is very likely that you'll need to secure allies and give up on at least somehting from the above, or perhaps take a heavier handed approach to him.
If I had to guess, Za'im would likely be a despotist owing to his rather absolute rule on the country, and yet he is argaubly the best man on display here. You'll see why when we look at the other two.

Adib Shishakli

\" Syria is the current official name for that country which lies within the artificial frontiers drawn up by imperialism. \"- Adib Shishakli
Adib al-Shishakli was also president of Syria. He worked with Sami al-Hinnawai the defacto leader of Syria, who had couped Zaim (al-Hinnawai was actually kinda based in that he restored the parliament), but had eventually couped him in turn, claiming Hinnawi had a hand in the pro-hashemite sentiment in Syria. It should be noted that sentiment wanted to join with Hashemite Iraq, a monarchy, while heimself was part of the Syrian Social Nationalist Party.
While the SSNP may or may not exist in TNO, I do think it's important to look at them. In particular, the SSNP has had accusations and suspicions that the SSNP had relations to the Axis, you surely see where I'm going with this. Shishakli is almost certainly going to be the favored candidate of the German Reich, and in addition will likely have himself a hand in the Trans-Arabian pipeline in this new timeline (Oil from the east coast of Arabia to the Mediterranian, up through the straits of Greece and Turkey into Bulgaria, maybe even past Istanbul if they can secure safe passage, or perhaps all the way to France) and you have a new oil trade route that can reach into Germany with or without Iran, though I imagine it'd have to be German ships making the trip, or at least for the ships of the UAR to have the German's guarantee of defense). They were very anti-colonialist, fighting hard against the French for a long time (likely the reason for their relations to the Germans, and likely a part of their reasoning here as well, as the Reich may be a powerful way to check Turkey's influence and aggression), alternatively they could contact the sore losers from the Battle of Italy, particularly Japan and seek their aide for defense in return for oil.
But what if the SSNP's beliefs itself? Well the party took a radical stance against the traditional land owners and feudal lords, calling for the working class and peasantry to be emancipated from religion and sectarianism into a socialist-inspired production-based economy. When the Lebanese communist party who that had fought alongside against Israel had declared their acceptence of the partition, they swiftly turned against the communists, and the communists who were betrayed by this pivot (by order of the USSR admittedly, a factor that won't be present), would join the SSNP. A rather left wing figure.
In comparison to the others, the SSNP was a fierce rival of the Syrian Communist party, a marxist-leninist group, and the Arab socialist Ba'ath party. They believed in a concept of a Greater, natural Syria beyond that of the french (and likely here Turkish) borders set out for them, potentially extending as far south as the Suez Canal, and including present day Syria, the levant, Jordan, Iraq, Kuwait, and lebanon. Some even farther, but I have doubts we'll see any claims on Cyprus in even the most radical circumstance. The idea behind all the natural geographical factors helped create the societal framework in which people establish their beliefs and values, in contrast to the ethnic nationalism of the baathists or the class-focus of the communists. Saadeh a prominent thinker in the SSNP advocated for all ethnoreligious groups to consider themselves descendents of Babylon and Assyria, the HIttites, the kings of Aram, and the Islamic empires, all the empires (except the colonizers) that had made their home in the fertile crescent, with Greater Syria as the natural home of the syrian people. In essence they want to create a Syrian 'racial unity' that united the people in a mixture of races, a sort of civic nationalism, not based in arabism or religion, but in the nation of Syria. That was a lot, but essentially I think we can say they take a civic nationalist approach, in comparison to class politics of comumnists, ethnicity of the Baathists, or religion of the kingdoms, and wished to expand Syria to its natural borders as they saw it to facilitate this growth. It also means that Shishakli will likely be clashing with almost everyone else in the region. They want to integrate people into the Syrian identity as a matter of assimilation.
There are a lot more aspects to the SSNP, but for now I want to push more towards Shishakli himself, and what he is about. So Shishakli himself, was a despot, when he took over, he once again dissolved all political parties, returned to military rule, banned newspapers that spoke poorly of him. In particular he persecuted Baathists, and would found his own party called the Arab Liberation Movement, which was more or less an extension of his own power. In terms of his foreign policy, he was pro-western, though resolute in his anti-zionist stance against Israel, with mistrust towards figures such as Nasser, the Hashemites, and overall mixed relations towards them. Also unlike Za'im he refused to settle palestinian refugees within Syria, even when offered money by the Americans. He was said to fancy himself something of an arab ceaser, but his purges against teh Baathists and so on had ended up resulting in a growing discontent against him, while plots from communists, the Baath party, and variuos officers built up against him. Not wanting a civil war, he would flee and resign.
btw here's the SSNP's flag

Hmmmmm..... I wonder
I imagine Shashikli will end up the fascist here, he is far more controlling than Zaim, and very focused on securing his own power through whatever means necessary. He seems to likely have something of a Greater Syrian idea at work if his party membership is of any consideration, though it may just as well be that he abandons that to instead simply build power, or piggyback off of Pan-Arab sentiment, that said I do find the idea of him striking off to build a specifically Greater Syria to be interesting, so I wanted to say as such.
If I had to guess Shishakli's ideology in the pie, he would likely fall within either despotism, or fascism depending on how far they want to take it, he's certainly authoritarian and controlling enough that he would not qualify as a democratic ideology I feel.

Hafez al-Assad

\"Strike the enemy’s settlements, turn them into dust, pave the Arab roads with the skulls of Jews \"- Hafez al-Assad
And so we come to the Baathist. Unlike the other two he came in much later, becoming president in 1970, but he had stuck with the Baathist party long before that. He had served in the air force when Syria and Egypt formed the United arab Republic in our time, be it from the British or Soviets. Assad always viewed his military career as a gateway into politics, and when the Baath aprty experienced a crisis and turned against its founder Aflaq, Assad along with Jadid, Umran, and others established am military comittee and resurrected the Syrian regional branch of the Baathists, eventually leaving the UAR. During his time, while not ruler, he was more than willing to use violence to put down riots, such as in 1964 where he wanted to suppress the uprising violently, he himself sided with Jadid in a power struggle over whether to coalition with other pan-arab forces, or to establish a strong one-party state.
Assad in contrast to his party was more moderate in regards to socialism and in contrast to Jadid wished to focus on foreign policy (and containment of Israel). Eventually in a large amount of differences over how many people should be let into the party, who was responsible for the fiasco that was the Six-Day war, and more, he would take power in 1970.
Assad in contrast to his predecessor presented himself as a pious muslim, and tried to gain support from the Ulama, even praying in sunni mosques despite being an Alawite. He established a centralized presidential system with absolute authority, while at the same time trying to appear more democratic, with the People's Assembly and his cabinet consisting of several nationalist and socialists party under the National Progressive Front (led by the Baath party he was leader of). Despite his attempts to get in good with the educated muslim class, he would end up clashing with Islamists to a great extent, including that of the Muslim Brotherhood. He cultivated a rabid support base in his constituencies, in particular being helpful towards alawites and christians, with the former remaining a large part of his. Assad had also overseen the Tabqa Dam on the Euphrates River, one of the largest in the world (though unlikely to compare to the Congo Dam or the Gribalter monstrosity in TNO).
Al-Assad I imagine here will be doing what he did OTL, though perhaps on an accelerated schedule. As a baathist as well, he may end up playing a smaller role, as he finds himself swept up in this great revolution across the arab world, though I could yet see him throwing a wrench into these things, himself being more authoritarian, but at the same time more populist than other parties. He'll likely be managing the ethnicities in the region like he did OTL funny enough, playing to sectarianism and giving for example, the Alawites he was a part of great influence. Unlike the others, he did not fail OTL, but if I had to guess, failing to keep the various factions divided and weak will likely result in his own coup. For himself, he is more tied to the Baathists than anyone else, and so forth will likely be friendlier to any factions that help the Baathists, I imagine in particular the CPS may be worth looking at as he kept good relations and housed Khomeini (who himself is CPS aligned here) in Damascus.

So with that done, a more brief overview of these leaders.
Zaim: The Secularist, Likely despotist, but a rather progressive one on terms of sex. The most outwardly dictatorial of these, and the most likely to be pro-American given his policies and terms in the Middle East, with a particular emphasis on secularism and foreign money. That said I doubt he is tied down to an alliance with the OFN. I think he is also the most likely one to pursue peace with Israel, and work with the Italians, including their benefactors. Likely to pursue the Trans-Arab pipeline should pro-America forces (be it the Italians, baathists, or Royal houses) allow it. His struggle will be maintaining his supporters as he takes on controversial policy after controversial policy.
Shishakli: The Nationalist, Incredibly dictatorial and controlling. Given his party's history, he almost certainly has German connections, especially as a way to counteract Turkey, he believes in Greater Syria and may wage war on the Arab nations, royalist or Baathist in order to see it through, seeing the Syrian identity as more of a civic nationalism you can assimilate others into, with possible aims on the fertile crescent as a whole. He may also pursue the Trans-Arab pipeline, though now for the benefit of German-Syrian relations, if he can fight well, though that's only if he can secure control of Greater Syria with oil rich fields like Kuwait. His internal struggle will likely owe to purging the army of disloyal forces without himself getting couped in the process.
Al-Assad: The Baathist, the most "democratic" of the leaders at hand, he will still hold a heavy hand over the control of Syrians, and likely join with the Baathist movements in the united revolution across the Middle East. A more moderate socialist than his contemporaries, and favoring a strong one party state he is likely the one most concerned with an independence of the Arab world from colonial influences, even ones that he will have likely sided with. That said, if he has a tie, it would likely be to Tokyo should Japan lose the Battle of Italy (though again I don't think he is tied to that), and is the least likely of the three to leave Israel in peace. His own struggle will be establishing his own "Syrian democracy" or perhaps "Arab Democracy" as a whole, with a wide front that he still maintains ultimate control over, keeping the smaller factions squabbling.

This is my very brief take on these three leaders and what we may see from them when they finally enter the mod. Very different leaders with very different directions for Syria, and I am interested to see how much I am correct, and how much I am hilariously off the mark.

2020.09.03 20:12 StannisTheAmish A Neoliberal-friendly Explainer of the Syrian Civil War. Part 1: Islam, Imperialism, and the Tragedy of Progress.

Hello, and welcome to the first installment of a series of effort posts on my personal fascination for the last decade: the Syrian Civil War. One of the most important geopolitical events of the modern era, understanding this war, how it began, what happened, and what is yet to come is crucial for understanding the political and institutional patterns of the world today. In this part, I will be reviewing the leadup and historical context of the war, which provides important background for the conflict itself.

No electricity, no democracy, but no sectarianism either.
It’s best to begin the story with the collapse of the Ottoman empire in 1918. The Ottomans had ruled Syria as a directly-administered province, dominated politically by a Turkish administrative ruling class, local Arab land-owners, and merchant/tribal elites. Then (as in now) the country was divided religiously between the Arab Shiite offshoot Alawites along the coast, the Sunni-Arab dominated interior, Sunni Kurdish areas in the North with Christian and Jewish communities scattered throughout. Although in many ways ineffective and illiberal, Ottoman rule was notably religiously and ethnically diverse. Non-Muslims were governed by the Dhimmi system and coexisted mostly peacefully with their neighbors. There certainly existed Arab resentment at the Turkish authorities, but this was to a far lesser extent than in territories further South.

Extractive institutions, do your thing!
Per the Stykes-Picot agreement signed between the French and British governments, the territories comprising the modern states of Syria and Lebanon became the “French Mandate of Syria” in 1920. The French adopted the popular colonial policy of “divide and rule”, dividing the mandate into the territories of “Greater Lebanon” (modern-day Lebanon) dominated by Maronite Christians, the “Alawite State” for Alawites, the State of Jebal Druze for the Druze sect, the State of Damascus, the State of Aleppo, and the autonomous Sanjak of Alexandretta.
This policy was extremely unpopular in Syria. After repeated revolts, the French were forced to merge the States of Damascus and Aleppo, and after the war, each of these polities quickly united into the first Republic of Syria, which like much of the post-war Middle East was initially dominated politically by the small merchant class and wealthy landowners. This fragile state of affairs was quickly disposed of by the foibles and fallibilities of the cold war. After the Republic joined the Arab attack on Israel in 1948, it was replaced by a series of weak pro-Western governments backed by American Intelligence. Following a brief restoration of the republic, the nation lurched once again into authoritarianism, this time of leftist flavor with the rise of Arab Socialism, and shortly thereafter a military coup and union with Egypt under Gamel Abdul Nasser in 1958.

Anti-Imperialism imperialism.
However, Leftist dictatorship proved no more popular than its right-wing counterpart or weak aristocratic democracy. After Nasser attempted to force Syria into permanent subservience to Egypt, another military coup led to yet another restoration of the republic. This third period of vaguely oligarchical pluralism proved no more effective than the previous two and was replaced by yet another military coup, in 1963 this time masterminded by the Arab Socialist Ba’ath Party of Michael Aflaq.
In many ways, the Ba’ath party at this time was a complex assemblage of factions and interests. It was cool to hardcore Nasserism, but hoped for a more consensual restoration of the previous union. Although it rose to power through a military coup, it contained both military and civilian wings, each with their own followings and international connections. Ideologically as well, the party was a contradiction. It was critical of both Capitalism and Communism, and sought to create an authentically “Arab” form of Socialism that could surpass both. Although it viewed Islam as inherent to this new sort of Arab Socialist Thought, its leadership was extraordinarily diverse. The party lauded diversity in political thought and aimed to encourage popular discussion and consciousness. At the same time, it believed that the party must have the ultimate say in society, in order to guide and moderate this consciousness.
Unfortunately, the philosophical diversity of the Ba’ath party would lead to its destruction. In 1966 Aflaq’s civilian government was overthrown by the more radical military Ba’aths led by Salah Jadid. Jadid went further than any of his predecessors in his attempts to drastically reform Syrian Society and align with the Soviet Union, but unsurprisingly achieved no better results. After his government’s disastrous involvement in the Six Day War with Israel, and its similarily ineffective intervention on the side of Palestinian Socialist revolutionaries in Jordan, it was violently replaced with a “Corrective Revolution” by the more pragmatic and geopolitically independent faction of Hafez Al-Assad in 1970, who became the first president of the modern Syrian Arab Republic.

Not Pan-Arab, not a republic, nor particularly interested in Syrian welfare.
Hafez’s leadership proved to combine the pragmatism of the first Ba’ath regime with the aggressive authoritarianism of the second: he normalized relations with non-leftist Arab regimes, relaxed the socialization of Syrian agriculture, and made overtures to dissident literary groups. At the same time, he harshly repressed Jadid-ist leftists, liberals, and Islamists alike, empowered Alawites (of which he was a member), particularly those descended from the Assad family clan.
Hafez took a deeply cynical approach to foreign policy. For propaganda purposes, Syria was a staunch Arab republic, dedicated to the liberation of Palestine from the Zionist entity and the defeat of their American masters. In reality, Hafez happily cooperated with the West whenever it suited him, for example during the First Gulf War when he joined the coalition against Saddam Hussein. He also developed his own colonialist streak -- transforming an Arab League mandated intervention in the Lebanese Civil War into a decades-long occupation in which over 200,000 Syrians were resettled in that nation.
Although the Regime harshly repressed non-Arab groups, it was entirely willing to use them as political pawns, notably through its support of the PKK as leverage against Turkey (giving the party connections in Syria that would transform the nation’s history decades later). Theoretically socialist, the regime in fact functioned more like an oligarchy, with Assad’s extended family becoming effectively a new aristocracy via their domination of state-owned companies.

Foreshadowing.
As it had with many other Syrian regimes, the contradictions of Hafez’s government would become its greatest enemy. However, unlike previous strongmen, Assad had managed to install his influence in all of the nation's institutions and built a system-dependent enough on him to ensure its loyalty, such that when the threat emerged it took the form of a slow-burn popular uprising rather than an immediate coup.
For decades, the Muslim Brotherhood of Syria had been gaining strength, building off the increasing disconnect between the leftist-dominated cities and the countryside. Via charity, international connections, and a vibrant tendency for civil activism the Brotherhood created a powerful network of supporters both civilian and military. Their strength was further augmented by the majority-Sunni backlash against Hafez’s Alawite dominated rule.
The gradual escalation of protests, assassinations, and insurgency came to a head in 1976, when the Islamists openly revolted. Some evidence suggests that Hafez had intentionally allowed the Brotherhood to grow, in order to frame the inevitable conflict in sectarian terms and reaffirm his support among Syria’s Alawites and other minorities. The government responded to the uprising with immediate brute force, making membership in the Brotherhood punishable by death. When the rebels seized the city of Hama, the government did not bother to confront them directly but rather destroyed the city with tanks and artillery. As many as 25,000 people were killed, either in the attack or in the ensuing purges by the Regime’s security forces.
In the end, the Assad clan triumphed via their advantage in brute force, the still-formidable grassroots strength of the Ba’ath Party, and the widespread fear among Alawites that a Brotherhood victory would result in harsh repression towards them.

The more things change the more they stay the same
Hafez’ victory against the Brotherhood cemented his rule over the nation, and although the rest of his reign was hardly peaceful (notable incidents include the death of his son and heir Basel Al-Assad in a car accident in 1996 and an attempted coup by his brother Rifat Al-Assad in 1999), and marked by continuous economic weakness thanks to Syria’s deeply corrupt version of top-down Socialism, he was able to ensure that the presidency was passed down to his son Bashar when he died in the year 2000.
Bashar’s reign at first promised change, modernizations, and openness. During the autumn of his father's presidency, he had pursued a two-track reputation: building connections and influence in the military and Ba’ath Party apparatus, while simultaneously developing an image as a younger, fresher face for the Regime. His rise to power triggered a widespread awakening of political consciousness known as the Damascus Spring. People everywhere engaged in vigorous public debate, while the government released thousands of prisoners under a new amnesty program. For a moment, it seemed that Syria might yet escape its authoritarian past and stride boldly into a new democratic dawn.
But it was not to be.
After over a year of allowing the public to have its fun, the state cracked down hard. Many of the most prominent new political faces were rounded up and imprisoned, public gatherings and demonstrations were broken up by the police, activists were “disappeared” and tortured, and the famous debate salons of the capital were shut down and auctioned off to the Assad family’s corporate cronies.
For the rest of Assad’s presidency, he pursued a pragmatic authoritarian policy that would have made his father proud. He cooperated with the United States during the early days of the War on Terror, but otherwise aligned his nation firmly with the rising power of Iran’s Shiite “Axis of Resistance”. After the assassination of a popular Lebanese politician by Syrian Intelligence of unleashed a wave of protests in that still-occupied nation, he first launched a brutal campaign of repression and bombings, before finally withdrawing under popular pressure. He liberalized the economy, and moved away from the pan-Arab propaganda of his father, but replaced state-companies run by the Assad family with private monopolies operated by the same.

A Storm on the Horizon
Though Assad’s modest reforms encouraged economic growth and a new middle class, there were foreboding signs.: like elsewhere in the Arab World, Wahhabi-Salafism spread into the countryside, flowing from Saudi-sponsored mosques and from migrant workers in the Gulf states. The divisions of the Iraq War did not yet come into the open, but they were present nonetheless -- notably with an anti-Kurdish riot in 2004 after a disputed football match. A drought from 2006 to 2009 devastated agriculture and triggered widespread starvation and unemployment.
In December 2010, the street vendor Mohamed Bouazizi, exhausted by years of government harassment and corruption, set himself on fire. The storm of protests unleashed by his death would strike fear into the heart of despots everywhere, including the “benevolent authoritarian” Bashar Al-Assad.
The Syrian Regime responded pragmatically as always. The secret police stepped up campaigns of arrest and detention, a brigade of troops was dispatched to fight for Muammar Gaddafi in Libya hoping to stall the regional revolutionary momentum, and the government lowered some prices and released a handful of political prisoners.
In March 2011, a group of teenagers scrawled the slogan of the revolutions elsewhere “The People Demand the Fall of the Regime” on an alley wall in the Southern city of Daraa. They were captured by the secret police Mukhbaret and tortured, one of them to death.
Here, for now, the story ends.

This effort post is too long. I would like a TLDR.
In many ways, the tensions that led to the modern Syrian Civil War are the same that have always caused instability in the Middle East -- primarily the legacy of colonialism, the superpower interference of the Cold War, and the deep rivalries and divisions caused by the arrival of various forms of nationalist thought. As in much of the third world, Syria’s European colonial masters inflicted division and sectarianism on the nation, creating the seeds of future conflict. During the cold war, America and the Soviet Union both attempted to dominate the nation for their own benefit, with little regard for the welfare of its people.
It is this lack of independence and feeling of humiliation that gives rise to dictators like Hafez Al-Assad his son Bashar. Unfortunately, though the winds of change could be delayed, they could not be stopped.
All of the powers involved -- the French colonialists, the Soviet and American meddlers, the Alawite ruling class, the violent and discordant Muslim Brotherhood, and of course the dictators involved share some of the blame for the tragedy that would come.
Next: Making a Peaceful Revolution Impossible -- the People, the Protests, and the Powers Above.

North-South highway / Chinese & Armenian companies busted

The big highway construction was unnecessarily delayed for years due to fraud. Twenty-nine people (4 ex-officials) are charged with defrauding the state with construction fraud.
One of the suspects is BHK chief Dodi Gago's right-hand man Arustamyan, who has so far "returned" 1bln.

The report says:
Chinese firm SinoHidro was paid to build a road near Gyumri. They sub-contracted STONES company, run by Dodi Gago's man Arustamyan.
Two companies colluded to forge documents to inflate the work done by them. STONES created 2 dummy companies, which were used to launder 2.7bln.
4 STONES and 3 SinoHidro employees are charged with a felony. (there are other episodes of corruption involving North-South highway)

Demographic problem persists

Labor Minister Batoyan: last year there were 35,448 births vs 40,583 predicted. That's why we made reproductive healthcare reforms in 2019, reforms about housing for newlywed, financial aid, farmer aid, etc. To improve demographics we need to work on multiple areas.

Azeri defector crosses the border

26yo Elshan Rasul oglu Aliyev from Novosaratovka, Aze. has crossed the border in Gegharquniq. He was spotted by a local Armenian civilian guard.
The guard spoke Azeri because he used to live there. The two held a conversation. The unarmed and paper-less Azeri man was accompanied to a govt building.
His father is Azeri and mother Ukrainian. The mother left the family and the father had to take care of two brothers. He ended up in an orphanage.
Upon leaving, he became homeless and eventually became a shepherd in Getabek. Poverty made him leave Azerbaijan. He examined the map, stuffed a bag with personal items, left his animals, then crossed the border.

3rd road to Artsakh

3 European Parliament rapporteurs earlier drafted a report condemning Armenia's plans to build the 3rd road to Artsakh, saying it's illegal and without Ilham Aliyev's permission.
Armenian delegation led by LHK Edmon, joined by Artsakh govt and European Dashnaks, sent a note of protest to the European Parliament for rapporteurs' "biased report", and asked various bodies to make sure the reports are balanced.

Protests / 26 arrested for violating safety

HHK deputy Justice Minister Ruben Melikyan and 3 others were protesting in front of Parliament. They want the govt to remove the ban on mass gatherings for protests.
The police came, told them and the reporters to keep a distance, then arrested the protesters for violating safety rules.
Members from Kocharyan's Adekvad party, ex-NSS Vanetsyan's Hayreniq party, and others went to the police station to show support for the 4.
The police came, warned, then arrested 26 of them for also ignoring safety.
The originally arrested Melikyan was then released, after which he went to the police station to act as a lawyer for the 26 newly detained comrades.

Police brutality & Mass gatherings

LHK Edmon: remove the ban on mass gatherings for people who want to hold protests, if they wear masks and keep a distance.
QP Pashinyan: And if they don't follow safety? It's a matter of public safety.

LHK Edmon: instead of kindly explaining, often the police use illegal and humiliating force. Why not just give a 10k ticket and leave? Why twist arms and arrest?
QP Pashinyan: sometimes things escalate after the person is stopped for not wearing a mask. The police have the right to use legal force.

COVID vs employment / Remote work

Earlier we learned some numbers about unemployment caused by COVID.
Breavis pollster did its own research about post-Emergency employment:
12% lost their jobs. It was 15% for private and 4% for public sectors. The Construction sector was hit the hardest with 25%.
27% went on a forced vacation. That's 50% in Construction and 38% in industry.
3.5% found a new job.

48% of Public sector worked remotely. 24% in Private sector. 47% in NGOs.

30% of those who worked remotely are <30yo. 28% <45. 21% <60. And 15% were >61.

Overseas mansions

Yesterday we learned how fugitive Minasyan's friend fabricated a story about Pashinyan owning a big house in Canada.
BHK MP Artyom Tsarukyan also accused govt members of money laundering and buying mansions in Armenia and abroad.
When SIS invited him to give details, it was revealed that the info originated from a very dark chamber commonly used by prisoners as a storage unit.

Pashinyan about Canadian villa: they spread the fake news to defame us because of ongoing felony cases against them. My only income since 2018 is the salary. The public should hang me in the public square if they catch me embezzle.

Pashinyan: we'll form a group to investigate the sources that spread COVID fake news. Is it foreign special forces? Internal groups with narrow interests? We'll find out.
(COVID fake news was initially banned but the govt lifted it citing freedom of speech.)

mass testing

BHK MP: South Korea did mass testing in February. They stopped the pandemic. Shouldn't Armenia do mass tests?
Pashinyan: I agree, but mass [5-hour precise] testing raises problems with technical capabilities. We have the money but can't purchase certain technologies because of high international demand... We did 2300 tests yesterday. That's close to our labs' capacity.
You mentioned South Korea. They did 21k tests per 1mln population, while we did 25k.

Healthcare Minister about lab capacity: to buy a single PCR device from the international market, you have to pay now and wait in line for 6 months. Testing sticks are also hard to obtain. To do more than 2.3k/day tests we'd need more labs and experts, too.
UAE with 8mln population did 2mln tests because they could, while Sweden has 5k deaths with only 50k tests done so far (political choice).

During a Parliamentary session, Pashinyan used his last 10 minutes to repeat the same message over and over again.
"Attention dear citizens. This is PM Pashinyan. There is a pandemic in Armenia. I urge everyone to wear a mask and remove only when eating food. The mask should cover your nose and mouth. Routinely wash your hands and don't touch your face. Keep 1.5m distance from others and don't socialize with non-family members without a mask. Dear citizens, wear a mask to save hundreds of lives. Replace it every 4 hours. You may use a homemade mask that should be disinfected at the end of each day. Thank you to those who've followed safety and will follow safety."

Encouraging work / Reducing aid abuse

A low-income person is given a certain number of Poverty Points depending on conditions. If they cross a certain point-barrier, they qualify for aid.
Last year the govt passed a bill to encourage work and discourage reliance on govt.
Beginning in Apr-2020, those who find work will still qualify for a 6-month aid. It's meant to encourage the unemployed to try without a fear.
At the same time, those who are offered a suitable job but refuse it twice, will have their Poverty Points deducted and could lose aid.

2020.01.12 14:56 s_team337 Progress Report 44: Chaos in the Caucasus (2RCW Pt. 3)

Hello, and welcome to Progress Report 44for Calm Before the Storm. Today, we’ll be taking a look at the 2RCW Part 3 (Caucasus).
As the name implies, the Second Russian Civil War is a large, multi-tag project, so it will be split into multiple Progress Reports. If you are unfamiliar with the underlying concept, please see the Megathread on the subreddit (CBTSmod). The release schedule schedule is as follows: Part 1: USSR and everything relating to Russia Proper Part 2: Belarus, Crimea, and Ukraine (Previous PR) Part 3: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Chechnya, Dagestan, and Georgia (This PR) Part 4: Central Asia and Buryatia Part 5: Foreign Involvement and Tying it All Together
I’ll be taking you through most of it, but most of Georgia was made by the aptly-named Focus Tree, so he’ll be taking you through his portions.

Georgia:

Georgian Resistance to Soviet Rule was quite strong in the Early USSR, culminating in the August Uprising. Should the Civil War break out, repressed sentiments will come to the forefront, causing the Georgian Democratic Republic to be Reborn! The Democratic Republic of Georgia was the first Independent Georgian State in the modern period, lasting until 1921. The Socialist Government had managed to pass through numerous progressive social and economic reforms, which were then replaced by Soviet Bolshevism once the Red Army occupied it. Georgia starts in and around Tbilisi, the capital.
Georgia also starts under Menshevik rule. The Mensheviks - as the name suggests - were the minority faction of the Russian Social Democratic Labor Party, which was dominated by Lenin’s Bolsheviks. The Mensheviks considered themselves to be Orthodox Marxists, and believed in collaboration with Bourgeois-Democratic Revolutionaries to allow Russia to go through the “capitalist stage of development” rather than jumping straight to a Socialist Revolution.
Georgia Starts with the following national spirits in addition to the previously discussed ones:
After a few weeks, the Patriotic Union “Tetri Georgi” will return from exile. As you can see from the political screen above, they are Conservatives ranging from Social Conservative to Far-Right Authoritarian. They will join your coalition and you will be able to access their faction. Next to return will be the Social Liberals, followed by the Liberal Conservatives. These will join the coalition and their respective factions:
Tree:
The Political Tree is quite large. As you can see, once personal freedoms are restored, there are two choices. The first (The Menshevik Program), is the Radical Choice: though its reforms might be more desired and direct, doing them risks alienating the Traditionalists! Essentially, once it is time for post-war elections, the Conservatives will have more motivation to unite against the Socialists. On the other hand, should you choose to moderate your positions, you risk alienating those to the left of you, but the Conservatives will have less reason to stay together. Both paths will be able to invest in education and the establishment of a bicameral political system.
After establishing Local Governments, a Georgia that goes down the Radical Path will be allowed to fully establish Gender Equality. The Mensheviks can also grant autonomy to their various minorities and negotiate with radical nationalist groups.
Meanwhile, on the Appeasement side, after appointing local governors, they can establish legal equality for all ethnicities, but take heavy-handed actions against the Nationalist Groups. They will then have to promise greater reforms after the War in order to get backing from the people.
Finally, the Mensheviks will either be able to affirm their commitment to Marxism, or tone down Marxist Rhetoric to appeal more to the centre.
As for the rest of Georgia, I’ll hand it over to Focus Tree to talk about: Greetings ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, it is I, the one and only Focus Tree here to tell you about the boring parts rest of the Georgia focs tree! First, let’s start off with the Economy Tree!
The initial focuses are all about getting the economy into gear - there’s a war on after all - but the government then has to decide on a permanent minister of the economy, thus affecting the economic policy of the nation. Depending on your choice, the left or right branches will open up allowing you to pursue your chosen economic policy. The middle section can be accessed via both paths, and is your more or less your standard industry tree.
Now onto the Military Tree
In case you haven’t noticed, the military tree is split into a left path that gives more defensive bonuses, and a right path that gives more offensive bonuses. There are also some minor choices to be made within these paths. For instance, the right path gives you an option to choose to purchase either motorized equipment or outdated fighter planes. Not impressive? Too bad! We’re working on the fly. Finally, here’s the Diplomacy Tree
Here in this tree, you have the option to ally with one of three nations (France may be subject to removal). Then you have the option to deepen ties with your ally, or you can go talk to the neighbors and attempt some regional cooperation!
So that’s it for the Georgia tree! While 0.1 Georgia content will likely be limited to the 2RCW, in the future, the choices you make during the Independence War will have consequences that will ultimately decide the ultimate fate of the Second Republic and all its inhabitants…when we get around to coding that part.

Armenia:

Due to the exemplary work done in Georgia, Focus Tree will be back with Turkestan and Buryatia in the coming months!
Armenia, not to be outdone, will then declare a revolution of its own, starting in Yerevan and the general area around it.
Armenia is ruled by the Armenian Revolutionary Federation, called “Dashnaks” for short. The Dashnaks are a coalition of Revolutionary Socialists, Democratic Socialists, and Authoritarians. They believe in a form of Socialism where Culture and the National Spirit is as influential - if not more - to their view of history as Historical Materialism. This is why they have such a wide coalition, as after they were exiled, they became less of a political party and more of a pressure group, losing emphasis on ideological specifics in the process. Thus, the Dashnaks - unlike the Mensheviks - are not Marxists (not that they ever claimed to be). Drastamat Kanayan himself might be known to you for collaborating with the Nazis, and would thus be in the Authoritarian Category. The government is RevSoc due to the influence of other members.
Armenia starts with the following National Spirits:
Unlike Georgia, only one other political group “returns” to Armenia. I use “return” loosely as the group was founded in exile. As the event explains, the Taronakan is a splinter group from the ARF that believes in National Rebirth, which borrows heavily from fascist theory. In this scenario, the Taronakan will organize in the New Armenia, and go from being a splinter group to a sort of subfaction of the ARF.
Tree:
Armenia has a very small tree compared to most other revolter tags. We begin with the political section: The lack of a concrete program is reflected in the tree: most of these reforms are empty promises at worst, and wishy-washy at best. This is best shown by the “Ethnic Equality” focus. This sounds great on paper, as it attempts to fix one of the major social problems in the country. I say “attempts” because it unfortunately does not work. From there, the Dashnaks will promise Democracy (though nothing can materialize from this until the War is won), and form a Militia.
On the National Side, the Dashnaks decide that all their neighbors have territory that Armenia wants, and thus manages to alienate all their neighbors. Finally, Armenia’s only political choice is whether to organize on Centralized or Decentralized principles.
Armenian Economics are similarly vague. The first choice is to either reform or disband collective farms, after which the usual construction and mining can go on. The most notable reform here is the People’s Market, which restructures the economy where all forms of ownership are allowed so as long as workers’ rights are maintained. As I said before, ideology is less of a concern to the Dashnaks.
As for the Military, Armenia does not have the capacity to improve its equipment by much at this time. Ergo, there is nothing of note here.
Of course, Armenia has many flavor events to show the goings-on in the country. Here is a sample.

Azerbaijan:

Azerbaijan will revolt in territories east of the Mtkvari river in an attempt to restore their Pre-Soviet Republic as well. Azerbaijan starts Jadidist under the presidency of Muhammad Amin Rasulzadeh.
Jadidism is a form of progressive political Islam that seeks to reform Islam to focus more on education and progressive ideals. Though Jadidism is best represented by Social Liberalism, the Musavat Partisi had a left and right wing, represented by the Social LIberals, Market Liberals, and Liberal Conservatives respectively.
Azerbaijan has the following national spirits:
In addition, a Conservative Opponent to the Jadidists will appear.
Tree:
Azerbaijan’s tree focuses on the liberalization of society, best shown by the political tree. On the left, we have political actions. There is the usual Freedom of Assembly, Establish a Parliament, and so on, but also Anti-Communist actions, especially in the wake of the Baku Central Committee.
On the Social Reform side, there are the usual Freedoms of Speech and Religion, but there is still an important choice to make. Essentially, do you allow the Clergy the opportunity to turn the populace against your government’s Liberal Progressivism or do you support Progressive Clerics instead?
The Economic Tree has perhaps the most central choice to your government. Choosing to Expand the Oil Industry will get you more oil, but you will then be expected to export more. You will also be expected to import other goods and use the Oil Money to subsidize other projects.
Choosing to Diversify will alleviate the maluses given by “OIl-Focused Economy” and allow you to get another civilian factory. You will also be able to subsidize agriculture and establish a central bank.
Azerbaijani Foreign Policy is not very complicated, and allows them to call on Turkey to give them things. If Turkey recognizes Azerbaijan (which they will), then they will be able to send Officers, and Turks will be able to invest in Azerbaijan. It is also key to approach other nations - should they exist - to at least prevent hostilities in the region.
As Azerbaijan is able to export a large amount of oil, they have slightly more choices than most when it comes to improving their military. Notably, they can improve their motorized designs. On the bottom, you have a choice between expanding your defense industry or trying to improve the factories you already have:
A feature central to both Armenia and Azerbaijan is Escalation. It is well known that Azerbaijan and Armenia have multiple claims on each others’ land. I have therefore created the Escalation Mechanic to simulate conflicts over the mutually claimed region. Here is a test scenario with Azerbaijan controlling Nagorno-Karabakh, and Armenia controlling Nakhchivan and the Zangezur Mountains. Here are the disputed states themselves in greater detail.
The mechanic itself is a series of decisions meant to represent “Local Tension” rather than an overarching World Tension. We will be using Azerbaijan’s perspective for now. As Azerbaijan does not own the Zangezur mountains, given 15 Command Power, they can begin a border war for the territory.
There are of course two outcomes of an attack: Victory or Loss, each of which has an affect on your nation:
Armenia on the other hand, will want to seize Nagorno-Karabakh. When does this end? There are three possible outcomes: Armenia wins, Azerbaijan wins, or they declare war on each other. You can win the conflict if you manage to control all three states for long enough. This will take away 10% Stability and War Support from the loser.
On the other hand, if Tension reaches 100, then a war can break out. You have one month to end the conflict or else the latest aggressor will declare war on the other. So if you declared the last border war before it escalates, then you will be the aggressor in the war. This old teaser shows the two possible ending borders.
Of course, Azerbaijan has many flavor events to keep things interesting. Here is another sample.

Dagestan:

Dagestan and Chechnya are rather unique in that they revolt at the same time. Unlike other Caucasian Revolts, this can be prevented. As the event says, they revolt as part of a faction with each other. Dagestan starts with three divisions totaling 14 thousand soldiers.
Politically, Dagestan starts with an Authoritarian Government under the leadership of Gaidar Bammatov. The parties here are not yet actual political groups, but rather assorted Nationalists, separated into Reformists, Liberals, Democrats, Statists, and Islamists. Dagestan starts with the following national spirits:
Tree:
Dagestan’s Political Tree is dependent on Union with Chechnya. Taking the “Union with Chechnya” Focus will give Chechnya the option to unite with Dagestan. AI Chechnya will never refuse. This will annex Chechnya into Dagestan and change the Country Name. Now, in 1917, Dagestan and Chechnya were both part of the Mountain Republic of Northern Caucasus, a state meant to unite the Northern Caucasus. This dream can be achieved again!
On the Union side of the tree, you will be able to establish Federalism and Multilingualism. On the other hand, the separation side is more centralized. One of the major focuses in this tree is “Encourage Political Activity”. This will begin the event chain for Party Formation in the country, despite the low political development.
In reality, it starts with the establishment of Islamic Nationalism as a political force and their corresponding newspaper. However, encouraging political activity will give rise to actual political parties. Only the Liberal Nationalists will be left without a party.
Dagestani Economics are not special other than the four oil you can get. The Military is a little bit more interesting. “Improve Officer Training” is a way to fix the “Disorganized Army” malus. It can be further fixed by one of the two last focuses, both of which are blocked unless you have unified with Chechnya.
Dagestan has a quite extensive Foreign Policy. The first portion is the usual “Approach other nations and get some things from them.'' However, working with or against Russia (Anti-Bolshevik Russia) both are enticing options. Choosing to work with Russia makes you drop your claim on Kizlyar, but allows you to get Army Experience and Trade. However, it is working against them where expansion lies. Note that you cannot claim lands beyond Kizlyar without Chechnya as part of you.
The Terek Conflict:
The Terek Conflict acts nearly identically to the Zangezur Conflict. However, instead of just being between Armenia and Azerbaijan, whoever Dagestan attacks is dragged into the conflict. Dagestan can attack anybody that controls their claims. While Dagestan can declare victory on their own, any other country must attack into Dagestan proper in order to shut them up. Of course, with so many possible participating tags, it is likely that the war would escalate far sooner than the Zangezur conflict.

Chechnya:

Chechnya has been largely left alone since Progress Report 36, where the Chechen Insurgency of 1940-1944 was featured. However, it shares the Low Political Consciousness and Agrarian Economy national spirits with Dagestan. Other than some new icons, the tree is also the same. However, there are a few events that will pop up as you go through the tree.
