2024.06.05 08:23 Vegetable-Coconut846 Update: Was cooked in 8 hours 12:30-8:30

Update: Was cooked in 8 hours 12:30-8:30
I just got done cleaning and putting away leftovers and thought I would share two very low effort pics.
Definitely not the prettiest pig I’ve seen, but I’ll take it for the first one I’ve done and in the amount of time I was told wasn’t possible by many of you on a previous post.
Today I smoked the 38.7lb suckling pig for 8 hours at 225 for 3hrs and 250 for 5hrs on the Traeger 780 pro.
It was then served as tacos with a pineapple habañero salsa verde with a piña de gallo (I hate raw tomato).
Notes: - I’d say it could’ve just gone 225 the whole time and would’ve been a better product. The hams, shoulders and neck were all moist and tender, but the rib and loin section were over. I also wish the skin was a better product.
  • The meat, while tender and moist didn’t impart a whole lot of flavor from marinade injection and rub. Will be more liberal with seasoning, but definitely looking for any tips here.
  • I rotated several times during the cook to make sure both ends were cooking evenly. I’m not sure how much this helped as some sides were left longer and still floated around the same temps.
In summation, I didn’t originally plan on doing this and had 24 hours to prepare, I had a lot of fun today doing something which is challenging to me and got to interact with a lot of people.
Thank you to those that offered advice and help to someone who was clearly struggling. To those who bashed, we both learned it’s an achievable cook.
I’m tired and have rambled for far too long.
Good night!

2024.06.04 05:04 tasimm I smoked a 3/4 inch Pork Steak to 200 degrees, so you don’t have to. Here’s what happened.

I smoked a 3/4 inch Pork Steak to 200 degrees, so you don’t have to. Here’s what happened.
I grew up in St. Louis, and for those that aren’t familiar, Pork Steaks are our only real claim to fame when it comes to St. Louis Style BBQ. Sure, there’s a rib named for St. Louis, but that’s just a cut, not anything you’d actually recognize if you spent anytime in STL.
Pork Steaks are just slices of pork butt slathered in sauce and cooked on a regular grill with a heavy hand of Busch beer to keep those temps and flare ups under control. Busch Lite is also an acceptable temperature control mechanism.
Unfortunately, I live in Southern California. Where they call them Blade Steaks, and only cut up the butt when it doesn’t sell in time.
So, sometimes you have to ask the butcher to cut you some Pork Steaks. This confuses them, and I always have to explain it, but generally I get what I need. I had my local supermarket butcher cut me up some steaks yesterday, and since it was a half butt that he cut, he tossed in the last cut for half price, it was about 3/4 inch, and I wasn’t going to say no.
We were fat and happy last night. Nice Pork Steaks. Delicious. However, I knew what I had to do with that thick cut slice today. Smoke it to 200 degrees and make a sandwich out of it. So I did.
Was it delicious? No. Was it juicy? No. Did it taste like pulled pork? Kinda.
I’d say it was on par with a pulled pork sandwich from Tony Romas. If you know, you know.
4/10. If you want pulled pork but don’t want to wait and have lots of sauce available go for it. Regardless, never serve this to anyone but yourself with the realization that you are a desperate bbq addict looking for a quick fix.

2024.05.31 07:45 TheNintendoCreator How can I make better spice mixtures for meat?

I’ve always enjoyed opening the spice cabinet and experimenting with all the different spices, rubs, seasonings I could find. I’ve recently gotten more into charcuterie and am wondering how can I make the most of my love for spices? I have a good idea of how to get a flavor profile I like, but not any knowledge on what things actually “go together” or how they “work”. Or even well or how certain spices may complement sausages with meats like beef, pork, or even quail or duck (which I’ve been offered before but have no clue where I’d started with making a spice mixture).
My late paternal grandfather was known for his barbecue (I guess you could say a pit master? Competitive BBQer?) and had entered and won dozens and dozens of competitions in his life. While he’s not here anymore I do have some of his journals that have basic outlines for recipes for things like brisket or rib rubs or steak marinades. As I don’t do a lot of barbecuing myself and more so focus on things like cured sausages, burgers, jerky, I haven’t used those recipes all that much. However, is there even some merit in using those (or adapting them) for the stuff I do? Are there basic components to a spice mixture that can carry over from rubs and marinades? As an example I’ve seen a lot of his stuff (and BBQ in general) make heavy use of things like brown sugar or pineapple or apple juice. Should I take something like that as a clue that most basic seasonings for meat need something sweet added, or does that only apply to specific preparations of meat like barbecuing?

2024.05.28 05:26 YH_Queen_Clement Admissible Testimonials of State of Loc Nation Citizens

Admissible Testimonials of State of Loc Nation Citizens Victim Impact Statements Cc: Office of Victim and Survivor Rights and Services One of the rights guaranteed under the Sixth Amendment to the United States Constitution is the right of a suspect to confront witnesses against him or her. The Crime Victims' Rights Act (CVRA), 18 U.S.C. § 3771, is part of the United States Justice for All Act of 2004, Pub. L. No. 108-405, 118 Stat. 2260 (effective Oct. 30, 2004). • The right to full and timely restitution as provided in law. • The right to proceedings free from unreasonable delay. Based on the evidence presented regarding Captain Willie Lynch Story and Colonel Charles Lynch law, it's evident that generational damage has resulted from broken homes, domestic violence, unbalanced opportunities in education, unfair targeting by authorities, and systemic oppressions. Injustice 1. Martin Luther King Jr. once wrote, "Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere. We are caught in an inescapable network of mutuality, tied in a single garment of destiny. Whatever affects one directly, affects all indirectly." (Letter from Birmingham Jail, 1963). 2. Nelson Mandela famously said, "I have cherished the ideal of a democratic and free society in which all persons live together in harmony and with equal opportunities. It is an ideal which I hope to live for and to achieve. But if needs be, it is an ideal for which I am prepared to die." (Rivonia Trial Speech, 1964). 3. Harriet Tubman's words resonate: "I had reasoned this out in my mind; there was one of two things I had a right to, liberty or death; if I could not have one, I would have the other; for no man should take me alive; I should fight for my liberty as long as my strength lasted, and when the time came for me to go, the Lord would let them take me." (Interview with Sarah Bradford, 1865). Children of Generational Kidnapping During the Illegal Transatlantic Slave Trade 1. Frederick Douglass boldly stated, "I appear before you this evening as a thief and a robber. I stole this head, these limbs, this body from my master and ran off with them." (Speech at the American Anti-Slavery Society, 1848). 2. Olaudah Equiano vividly described the horrors of slavery: "The shrieks of the women, and the groans of the dying, rendered the whole a scene of horror almost inconceivable." (The Interesting Narrative of the Life of Olaudah Equiano, 1789). 3. Sojourner Truth's powerful words echo through time: "I have borne thirteen children, and seen most all sold off to slavery, and when I cried out with my mother’s grief, none but Jesus heard me! And ain’t I a woman?" (Ain't I a Woman? Speech, 1851). Racism 1. James Baldwin's poignant reflection encapsulates the Black experience: "To be a Negro in this country and to be relatively conscious is to be in a rage almost all the time." (Notes of a Native Son, 1955). 2. Malcolm X asserted the rights of African Americans: "We declare our right on this earth...to be a human being, to be respected as a human being, to be given the rights of a human being in this society, on this earth, in this day, which we intend to bring into existence by any means necessary." (Speech at the Founding Rally of the Organization of Afro-American Unity, 1964). 3. Rosa Parks expressed her desire for freedom: "I would like to be remembered as a person who wanted to be free... so other people would also be free." (Interview with Rosa Parks, 1995). Identifying current victims of injustice, slavery, and racism can be complex due to the ongoing and evolving nature of these issues. However, here are some examples of groups and individuals who have been identified as victims in recent times: Injustice 1. Uyghur Muslims in China: The Uyghur ethnic minority in the Xinjiang region of China faces mass internment, forced labor, and other severe human rights abuses. The Chinese government has been accused of committing cultural genocide against the Uyghurs. 2. Rohingya Muslims in Myanmar: The Rohingya people have faced brutal military crackdowns, leading to widespread displacement, with many fleeing to Bangladesh and other countries. The United Nations has described the actions against them as a textbook example of ethnic cleansing. Children of Generational Kidnapping During the Illegal Transatlantic Slave Trade 1. Modern-Day Slavery in Various Countries: Human Trafficking Victims, particularly women and children, are trafficked globally for purposes of forced labor, sexual exploitation, and other forms of modern-day slavery. Countries like India, Bangladesh, and Nigeria have high incidences of human trafficking. 2. Qatar’s Migrant Workers: Migrant workers in Qatar, many from South Asia, have faced exploitative labor conditions while working on infrastructure projects, including those related to the FIFA World Cup. Reports include cases of passport confiscation, non-payment of wages, and unsafe working conditions. Racism 1. African Americans in the United States: African Americans continue to face systemic racism in various aspects of life, including criminal justice, employment, housing, and healthcare. The Black Lives Matter movement has highlighted ongoing police brutality and racial disparities in the justice system. 2. Indigenous Peoples in Various Countries: Indigenous communities worldwide, including in the United States, Canada, Australia, and Brazil, face ongoing discrimination, land dispossession, and marginalization. They often suffer from poorer health outcomes, lower educational attainment, and higher rates of poverty compared to non-Indigenous populations. 3. Romani People in Europe: The Romani people, also known as Roma, face widespread discrimination and social exclusion across Europe. They often live in segregated communities and have limited access to education, employment, and healthcare. Story Corp A nonprofit organization that collects and shares stories from diverse communities: Search the collection of conversations from nearly 700,000 participants, the largest single collection of human voices ever gathered. “We Knew We Were the Best.” Reflections from the First Black Marines of Montford Point - StoryCorps Link: StoryCorps - Black Marines Link: StoryCorps - Racism Stories (84 stories on this link) Documentaries on Racism 1. "13th" (2016) - Directed by Ava DuVernay, this documentary examines the intersection of race, justice, and mass incarceration in the United States. 2. "I Am Not Your Negro" (2016) - Directed by Raoul Peck, this documentary is based on James Baldwin's unfinished manuscript "Remember This House." It explores the history of racism in the United States through Baldwin's reminiscences of civil rights leaders Medgar Evers, Malcolm X, and Martin Luther King Jr. 3. "The Central Park Five" (2012) - Directed by Ken Burns, Sarah Burns, and David McMahon, this film tells the story of five Black and Latino teenagers who were wrongfully convicted of raping a white woman in Central Park in 1989. It highlights issues of racial profiling and 4. "Get Out" (2017) - Directed by Jordan Peele, this horror film uses suspense and satire to address issues of racism and exploitation experienced by African Americans. 5. "The Color Purple" (1985) - Directed by Steven Spielberg and based on the novel by Alice Walker, this film depicts the life and struggles of an African American woman in the early 20th- century South. 6. "Mississippi Burning" (1988) - Directed by Alan Parker, this film is based on the true story of the FBI investigation into the murders of three civil rights workers in Mississippi in 1964. 7. "American History X" (1998) - Directed by Tony Kaye, this film examines the life of a former neo-Nazi who tries to prevent his younger brother from following the same path of racism and violence. 8. "The Help" (2011) - Directed by Tate Taylor, this film explores the lives of African American maids working in white households in Jackson, Mississippi, during the Civil Rights Movement. 9. "To Kill a Mockingbird" (1962) - Directed by Robert Mulligan and based on Harper Lee's novel, this film tells the story of a lawyer in the Depression-era South who defends a Black man falsely accused of raping a white woman. 10. "Fruitvale Station" (2013) - Directed by Ryan Coogler, this film is based on the true story of Oscar Grant, a young Black man who was shot by a police officer at the Fruitvale BART Station in Oakland, California. Rev Dr. Christina Clement's Personal Story Rev Dr. Christina Clement's personal journey epitomizes the enduring struggle against systemic oppression. Married high school sweetheart which lead to broken home marred by abusive relationships, she experienced firsthand the consequences of societal neglect and racial discrimination. Despite her resilience, Rev Dr. Clement faced numerous obstacles, from inadequate educational opportunities to the prevalence of crime and violence in her neighborhood. Her name, Christina, was chosen by her mother as a means of circumventing racial bias and discrimination in employment. This poignant decision reflects the pervasive nature of racism and its impact on individuals' opportunities and livelihoods. Even in the face of adversity, Rev Dr. Clement persevered, advocating for justice and equality in her community. Legal Context: Motion of Default Judgment The time frame for a Motion of Default Judgment to be signed and recognized varies depending on the specific circumstances of the case and applicable legal procedures. However, the delay in addressing such motions can serve as further evidence of systemic oppression within the legal system. Despite the clear merits of the case and the rights afforded to victims under the law, bureaucratic hurdles and institutional biases may impede the timely resolution of legal proceedings, perpetuating the cycle of injustice. By amplifying the voices of individuals like Rev Dr. Christina Clement and acknowledging the systemic barriers they face, we affirm our commitment to combating racial discrimination and ensuring equal access to justice for all. There are thousands of victim statements through poetry, court records, song, movies, etc. The pervasive impact of historical injustices continues to haunt our present and jeopardize the future of generations to come. From the enduring legacy of systemic racism to the devastating effects of substance abuse, such as the introduction of fentanyl to our youth, the toll on our society is immeasurable. Considering these challenges, it is imperative to embark on a path of comprehensive restitution and repair. The proposed remedies outlined in both Volume 2 - International Territory and Volume 3 - National Territory of Revealed the Kingdom of Locs Nazirite Vow continues, targeting a population of 1.4 trillion and 4.2 million respectively, are vital steps toward addressing the deep-rooted wounds inflicted upon our communities. Central to this endeavor is the recognition of the State of Loc Nation as a sovereign state country, entrusted with the governance of over 440 electors. Under this framework, the administration, led by President Rev Dr. Christina Clement, is poised to enact transformative change that aligns with the aspirations and needs of its citizens. Crucially, this transformative agenda necessitates a comprehensive overhaul of our existing constitutional framework. By adapting our laws and institutions to better serve the interests of the people of Loc Nation, we can lay the foundation for a more just, equitable, and prosperous society. As we embark on this journey of healing and renewal, let us remain steadfast in our commitment to justice, equality, and the well-being of all members of our community. Together, we can build a brighter future for Loc Nation and pave the way for a more inclusive and harmonious world.

2024.05.28 03:32 J12ich FBNXT: Clash of the Champions - Booking the AEW Title from Dynasty through the end of 2024 Part II

I Part I I
Following AEW X NJPW Forbidden Door, Jon Moxley is now both the AEW and IWGP World Heavyweight Champions, having defeated Swerve Strickland after his stablemate, Brian Cage, betrayed him. Now that Moxley is the top guy in two companies, he’ll have twice as many people gunning for him, and with All In, AEW’s biggest show of the year just a few months away, Moxley may have his work cut out for him if he hopes to hang on to both his belts.
Road to All In
At Forbidden Door, a Casino Battle Royale was held, consisting of wrestlers from both NJPW and AEW, with the winner receiving a future shot at the AEW World Championship, which was won by Jay White. White received his title match in the main event of the July 17th edition of AEW Dynamite, which Moxley would go on to win and retain his title. Following the match, it was announced that due to Moxley’s dual responsibilities as IWGP World Champion, he would be off AEW television for the next month to participate in New Japan’s G1 Climax Tournament. To make up for his lost time, AEW CEO Tony Khan announces that at All In, the AEW Championship will be defended in the main event in a 4 way match and over the next several weeks on both Dynamite and Collision, several qualifying matches will be held to determine the 3 challengers. At the conclusion of the qualifying matches, the winners are as follows:
Will Ospreay - Ospreay earned his shot at the AEW World Championship in the first qualifying match on Dynamite, defeating Claudio Castagnoli and Samoa Joe in a 3 way match up to stamp his ticket to the main event at All In. He’s already had plenty of big wins in AEW, defeating the likes of Kenny Omega, Konosuke Takeshita and Bryan Danielson, but now the Aerial Assassin and AEW’s hottest rising star has a chance to win the top title in the company in his home country of England. Let’s see if he can rise to the occasion and defeat the one man he has been unable to best in all their previous encounters, Jon Moxley.
Maxwell Jacob Friedman - After losing the AEW Championship to Samoa Joe following a year plus reign at World's End in December of 2023, MJF went on a hiatus from AEW after being betrayed and attacked by his former best friend Adam Cole. He returned at Double or Nothing this past May and after going to war with Cole and the Undisputed Kingdom, concluding with MJF defeating Cole in a singles match, which hopefully ended their feud, MJF now looks to reclaim his beloved championship. After defeating Swerve Strickland and Darby Allin in a 3 way qualifying match on Dynamite by pinning Allin, MJF officially earned his chance to win back the AEW World Title. It was at All In last year where MJF retained the AEW Championship in front of the largest paid attendance in the history of professional wrestling. Let’s see if history repeats itself and MJF walks out with the gold one year later.
Swevre Strickland - Of the 2 other challengers, Strickland was champion most recently, having lost the AEW Championship to Moxley at Forbidden Door, and never being granted a proper rematch. In the aftermath of Forbidden Door, Swerve was turned on by not just Brian Cage, but the rest of Mogul Embassy, who claimed they were being used by him but reaped none of the reward. After engaging in a blood feud with Cage and the Gates of Agony, Swerve managed to come out on top and now looks to regain his title. After coming up short in the first qualifying match, he won a battle royale, last eliminating another former champion in Samoa Joe, to earn the last spot in the championship match at all in.
With all the qualifying matches done with, the main event of All In is set with Jon Moxley set to defend the AEW Championship against Will Ospreay, MJF and Swerve Strickland in what is sure to be an epic 4 way match up. In the lead up to All In, Jon Moxley makes it to the finals of the G1, but loses in the end when Will Ospreay makes a surprise return to NJPW and costs Moxley the match. On the go home Dynamite before All In, MJF and Swerve Strickland both pick up singles victories against Alex Reynolds and Tony Nese respectively, while on the final edition of Collision, in the main event, Jon Moxley teams with Claudio Castagnoli and Wheeler Yuta to face off against Will Ospreay and Aussie Open, during which Moxley picks up the victory after nailing Kyle Fletcher with a Deathrider DDT and pinning him for the win, picking up momentum heading into All In as Dynamite comes to a close.
All In - 8/25/2024
After a long show full of twists and turns, the main event of All In has finally arrived, pitting 4 of AEW’s finest stars against each other with the top prize in the company on the line. As the sun sets and the night sky turns to black, red white and blue fireworks representing the Union Jack shoot through the sky above Wembley Stadium as the hometown hero Will Ospreay makes his entrance first, heading out to the ring accompanied by a thunderous applause. Followed by him is the former champion Swerve Strikeland, who enters with a less extravagant entrance, but a much more serious demeanor. Third comes the devil himself, Maxwell Jacob Friedman, and lastly, walking out through the crowd is the AEW World Champion, the Ace of All Elite Wrestling, Jon Moxley. After Moxley makes it to the ringside area, the four competitors standoff in their corners as ring introductions are made and the referee calls for the bell for the match to finally get underway.
AEW World Championship 4 Way Title Match - Jon Moxley © vs Will Ospreay vs Swerve Strickland vs Maxwell Jacob Friedman
The match begins and Swerve makes a b-line for Jon Moxley, unloading on him with punches, as the commentary team notes that this is the first time Swerve has been able to get his hands on Moxley since he lost the title to him back in June. As Mox and Swerve go at it, MJF charges at Ospreay and takes a cheapshot at him, knocking him square in the jaw before pushing him up against the ropes. Max bounces off the ropes and charges at Will, looking to hit him with a clothesline over the top ropes, but Will ducks down and catches Max, sending him flying over the top ropes himself to the outside of the ring. As Max stumbles to get back up to his feet, Will jumps over the ropes and hits Max with a crossbody to the outside. Ospreay quickly pops back up and sees Swerve and Moxley trading punches in the ring in the corner. He slides back in and charges at them, pressing them both in to the corner with a double clothesline. He then grabs Swerve by the arm and irish whips him across the ring before running forward and hitting him with a running knee into the corner. He puts Swerve in a headlock and runs forward to hit him with a bulldog, and as Moxley stumbles towards them, Will takes him out with a clothesline to thunderous applause from the London crowd.
Swerve and Moxley both roll out of the ring in pain and Ospreay gets back up to his feet, he is attacked from behind by MJF. Max hits Will with repeated shots to the back of the head before grabbing him from behind and trying to take him down with a german suplex. Ospreay manages to land on his feet, bounces off the ropes and nails him with a hidden blade. MJF goes down and Will quickly tries to go for a cover, but Max kicks out and the match goes on. Seeing an opening, Ospreay climbs up to the top ropes and sets up to hit MJF with a high risk move, however, at the last second, he is pushed off the ropes to the outside by Swerve Strickland. Will quickly pops up to his feet but Swerve charges at him and takes him down with a running knee. Swerve then grabs Will by the hair and drags him to the announcers table, where he clears the table and after nailing Will in the head several times, sets him up on it. With Ospreay down, Swerve climbs up onto the turnbuckles and leaps off, nailing Ospreay with a diving frog splash through the table, taking both men down.
With Swerve and Ospreay down on the outside, Moxley makes his way back into the ring as MJF pulls himself up against the ropes. The two face off in the center of the ring and start trading punches, with MJF getting the upper hand. He irish whips Moxley into the ropes, but Jon explodes off of them and takes down MJF with a running clothesline. Moxley then picks up MJF and hits him with a Paradigm Shift DDT before going for a cover but MJF kicks out at 2. Moxley stays on offense and locks MJF in a rear naked choke to try and force him to submit. MJF gasps out for air but is stuck in the center of the ring. He looks like he is going to fade when suddenly, Swerve climbs up onto the top ropes and hits a diving elbow drop onto both men, breaking the submission. MJF rolls out of the ring as Swerve and Moxley go blow for blow in the center. Swerve gets the upper hand and takes down Moxley. He sets up in the corner for a running knee as the champion tries to get up to his feet, but as Swerve runs forwards, Ospreay slides into the ring and nails him with a hidden blade.
Swerve rolls out of the ring in pain and Ospreay turns around to see a dazed Moxley stumbling up to his feet. Ospreay bounces off the ropes and decks Mox with a hidden blade before going for the cover 1-2-NOOO! Somehow, Moxley kicks out. In desperation, Ospreay pulls Mox up to his feet, kicks him in the stomach and nails him with the tiger driver 91, dropping him right on his head. Hoping this will finally put Moxley away, Ospreay goes for the cover, but at the count of 2, MJF pulls Will out of the ring and nails him square in the jam with the Dynamite Diamond Ring. Will drops to a knee dazed and MJF grabs him by the head before throwing him into the ringside barricade. Max then slides into the ring and tries to cover Moxley to steal the title, but the champion kicks out at the count of two and the match goes on. As Jon slowly gets up to his feet, MJF squares him up for a shot to the head with the diamond ring, just like how he won the title at Full Gear 2022. As Moxley turns around, Max nails him in the head and covers Jon 1-2- when suddenly, the referee gets pulled out of the ring by a hooded figure.
MJF looks on in disbelief as the hooded man reveals himself as Adam Cole from the Undisputed Kingdom. Apparently their feud isn’t over just yet, as Cole has cost MJF the AEW Championship. MJF dives through the ropes and brawls with Cole up the entrance ramp, where the two begin trading punches at the top. Cole nails MJF with a superkick at the top of the ramp near the edge, but Max maintains his balance and nails Cole with a shot to the jaw with his diamond ring. As Cole stands there dazed, MJF charges at him and tackles him off of the stage, sending the two flying into production equipment down below. Lights around the stadium begin to flicker and sparks start to fly as medical personnel rush over to check on them, but in terms of the match, it appears MJF is out of the picture.
Back in the ring, as a now bloodied Jon Moxley pulls himself back up to his feet, Swerve Strickland makes his way back into the ring and nails Jon with a running knee. Swerve then climbs up to the top ropes and nails Mox with a House Call before going for the cover before it is broken up by Will Ospreay. As Moxley rolls out of the ring in pain, Will and Swerve are left alone to duke it out. They start trading blows in the center of the ring, with Ospreay getting the upper hand. Will irish whips Swerve into the ropes, but Strickland bounces off of them and nails Will with a running knee. Swerve sets up for one more running knee, but as he charges at Will, Ospreay catches him and sets him up for a Styles Clash. Will nails him with the clash, but doesn’t go for the cover. Instead he sets up in the corner to nail Swerve with one more Hidden Blade. To remove all doubt, he then lifts Swerve onto his shoulders and nails him with a Stormbreaker before finally going for the cover and pinning him 1-2-3!
Will Ospreay wins the AEW World Championship in the main event of All In
Following the match, Will is presented the AEW World Championship belt by the referee and holds it high in the air in celebration in front of his hometown crowd. As confetti rains down into the ring and fireworks light up the night sky, the crowd cries out with tears of joy as the reign of Ospreay begins.
Road to All Out
Following All In, the new AEW World Champion Will Ospreay kicks off the first edition of Dynamite with an interview with Tony Schiavone. Will says that his goal since day one of signing with AEW was to become World Champion. He says that it was a dream come true to win it in his home country at AEW’s largest show of the year and says he plans on having a long and fruitful reign as he elevates this title to new heights. However, midway through his interview, he is interrupted by the former champion Jon Moxley. Mox gets in the ring and stands face to face with Will before saying to him that he should enjoy calling himself champion while he can, because it's going to be a short reign. Moxley says that while Ospreay may have won at All In, he didn’t pin the real champ. In fact, they’ve faced off quite a few times in NJPW in the past and Will hasn’t managed to beat Moxley once. Every time they face off one on one, Ospreay always comes up short. And unfortunately for Will, Moxley announces that in just 11 short days at AEW All Out, Jon will be getting a rematch for the AEW title in the main event. Moxley tells him that he’ll let Ospreay “enjoy your moment in the sun while you can because after All Out, that belt is coming back home with me where it belongs.”
AEW: All Out - 9/7/2024
Just two weeks after winning the AEW World Championship at All In, Will Ospreay is now making his first defense of said championship in the main event of All Out, facing off against the former champ, Jon Moxley. This will be a tall task for the champion, as he has never managed to score a singles victory against Mox in their previous encounters. As the main event prepares to get underway, Moxley makes his entrance first through the crowd of the Chicago faithful while the champion emerges second. Once they're both in the ring, the two stare each other down from opposite corners before the referee calls for the bell and the match finally gets underway.
AEW World Championship Match: Will Ospreay © vs Jon Moxley
The champion Ospreay tries to start the match with a lock-up, approaching Moxley with his arms out. Moxley initially gives in, but he quickly strikes Ospreay with a big forearm to the face. Shocked, Ospreay backs up, wary of Moxley’s next move as he gets into a wrestling stance. In response, Moxley cracks his neck and his knuckles before charging at the Aerial Assassin. Ospreay ducks the lariat attempt, getting behind Mox and trying to brawl with him as he throws a few good forearms at the Death Rider, but Moxley is unfazed. The former champion nails Ospreay with a big forearm strike that nearly knocks him on his back and leaves the champion stumbling. Ospreay quickly regains his footing as Mox approaches, he nails him with a quick back elbow strike to back him off. Moxley stumbles backwards but bounces off the ropes and charges at the champion before taking him down with a lariat. He goes for the cover, but Ospreay powers out at 2. Moxley gets back up and he grabs Ospreay and lifts him up for a German Suplex, but Ospreay slides out of it. Ospreay goes to nail Moxley with the hook kick, but Moxley catches it. Jon falls backwards and nails a Dragon Screw on Will’s leg. Ospreay screams out in pain and Moxley stays on offense, bouncing off the ropes and hitting the champion with a big boot square to the face. Will rolls out to the ring to try and recover, but Moxley stays on offense and bounces off the ropes before nailing Ospreay with a suicide dive to the outside of the ring, not allowing the champion any time to rest.
Now on the outside, Mox looks to hurt Ospreay even more, picking him up and putting his neck through the barricade as he pulls his head up against the bar using his hair. Ospreay yelps in pain until Mox stops, pulling him out and bashing his head into the barricade. Ospreay tries to escape Moxley’s wrath, but fails as Moxley grabs him by the hair and uppercuts him in the back of the head. He irish whips Ospreay into the steel barricade before tossing him face first into the ring post, and then back into the ring for a cover, but Will kicks out at 2. Ospreay tries to get to his feet after the kickout, dodging Moxley’s clothesline and connects with a missile dropkick to the face as he recovers. Moxley tries to get his hands on Ospreay again, charging as Ospreay ducks and gets the arm drag reversal. Moxley tries to get up quickly, but Will bounces off the ropes and drills him with a Hidden Blade. Will goes for the cover, but Moxley powers out at the count of 2 and the match goes on. Staying on the attack, Ospreay climbs up to the top ropes, looking to hit a high risk move, but Moxley quickly hurries up to his feet and chases him up the ropes. Jon puts Will in a headlock before grabbing him by the shorts and falling backwards, hitting him with a suplex off of the top ropes.
Both men are slow to get up to their feet, but Mox manages to pull himself up by the ropes first. He picks up Ospreay and prepares to finish him with the Paradigm Shift but Will manages to fight out of it, bounces off the ropes and takes Moxley down with a running discus lariat. Both drop to the mat exhausted but rise to their feet at the same time. Ospreay leaps onto the ropes and leaps off of them, attempting to hit Moxley with an Oscutter, but Moxley grabs Ospreay out of the air, locking him in a bulldog choke! Ospreay attempts to reach the ropes, getting his foot on it as Moxley lets go. Moxley pulls Will up to his feet and attempts the Paradigm Shift once more, however, Ospreay flips out of it and lands on his feet. Will runs towards the ropes, leaps off of them and this time, nails the Oscutter on Moxley. The AEW Champion goes for the cover, but somehow Moxley kicks out and Ospreay is in disbelief. He covers him again, but once more, Moxley manages to kick out. Frustrated, Ospreay picks up Moxley and lifts him onto his shoulders for Storm Breaker, but Moxley fights his way off. Ospreay turns around and walks right into a kick to the gut from Moxley. Jon grabs him with a double under hook before nailing him with a Paradigm Shift and finally going for the cover to win back his title for a 5th time 1-2-NOOO! Ospreay kicks out!
Moxley quickly transitions into a rear naked chokehold and tries to force the champion to either submit or pass out. Will is stuck in the center of the ring and has no hope for a rope break, but manages to power out of Moxley’s submission, elbowing him in the ribs before praying his arms off of his neck. Will shoots back up to his feet before bouncing off the ropes and hitting Moxley with one more Hidden Blade. With Jon down, Will picks him up and finally manages to hit him with Storm Breaker, but to put him away once and for all, Ospreay stands Moxley up, kicks him in the gut, grabs him with a double under hook and finishes him off with a Tiger Driver 91 before finally pinning Moxley 1-2-3 to win the match.
Will Ospreay def. Jon Moxley to retain the AEW World Championship
Following the match, Ospreay poses with his title in celebration in the center of the ring, as he just completed his first successful defense, as well as earning his first singles victory against Jon Moxley. However, mid celebration, Will Ospreay turns around and sees Moxley pulling himself up to his feet and standing across from him face to face in the ring. The two lock eyes, still behaving quite hostile towards each other, before finally, Jon steps forward and extends his hand for Will. Ospreay is initially hesitant before finally, he reciprocates and the two shake hands and hug in the center of the ring after a hard fought battle. Moxley raises Ospreay’s hand in victory, symbolizing a passing of the torch from the ace of AEW to the future of the company.
The era of Will Ospreay has officially begun.

Booking the AEW World Title In 2024 - Part One: There Will Be Blood
While the AEW World Title has been through some tumultuous, CM Punk-adjacent times, the company is striving to “restore the feeling” with one of the strongest rosters ever assembled in a wrestling promotion, while also maximizing the talents of once-underused stars like Swerve Strickland and Samoa Joe. In fact, that’s where we’re starting off - with the recently maniacal and now beloved Swerve taking on the unstoppable Samoa Joe for the AEW World Title in St. Louis.
Dynasty
However, we’ve got one thing to get out of the way first - and that’s earlier in the show. In the weeks leading up to Dynasty, Hangman Page said he’d do anything to stop Swerve Strickland leaving St. Louis with the title, leaving the main event in jeopardy of breaking down completely. While he seems to be considering asking for a No Disqualification match and trying his luck, Swerve thinks better of it, instead vowing to just… beat Page to the punch and jump his ass before the match. However, he’s stopped by Tony Khan, who says that he can’t let Swerve go and get into backstage brawls in good conscience. After seeing Jack Perry return to help the Young Bucks win the AEW Tag Titles, he says that he’ll simply prevent interference from taking place by suspending anyone who tries something during the main event. Joe and Swerve are both fine with the terms, and we’re off to the races for a good, clean fight between two of AEW’s most violent and tactical competitors.
AEW World Title, Everyone Banned From Ringside: Samoa Joe (c) vs. Swerve Strickland
Prince Nana accompanies Swerve out for an entrance fit for a champion, but he heads to the back afterwards, no seconds allowed as Samoa Joe storms to the ring with a confident smirk on his face. Introductions are made, the bell is rung, and HERE WE GO! Joe immediately tries to goad Swerve into a lockup, daring the challenger to shoot his shot against a man twice his size, but Strickland plays it smart, hacking away at Joe’s legs from a distance with stiff kicks. Pretty quickly, Joe gets frustrated, finally catching a leg and clobbering Swerve with a forearm, backing him up into the corner for a series of jabs and chops before GOING STRAIGHT FOR A MUSCLE BUSTER! Swerve frantically fights free, Joe catching him with a short-arm lariat to hang him up on the top rope before starting to clamber up himself. However, Strickland’s got plans of his own, dropping to the apron and BULLDOGGING JOE’S FACE STRAIGHT INTO THE TURNBUCKLE! Joe drops down to the mat, Swerve leaping to the top rope for a SWERVE STOMP, JOE FALLING BACK AT THE LAST MOMENT TO SLIP BEHIND THE CHALLENGER AND LOCK IN A COQUINA CLUTCH! Immediately grabbing the top rope, Swerve’s eyes are bulging out of his head until four, Joe forced to release the hold as Swerve collapses into the turnbuckles and EATS A GAMENGIRI TO SEND HIM TO THE FLOOR! Joe bides his time, mocking the crowd’s deafening cries of “WHOSE HOUSE? SWERVE’S HOUSE!” before heading to the apron for a PK TO SWERVE’S CHEST, ONLY FOR SWERVE TO COUNTER INTO A DRAGON SCREW AND SEND JOE CRASHING TO THE FLOOR!
It’s clear in the early goings that this is going to be a chess match, but that won’t stop these two from going ham - whenever they spot an opening, they’ll do whatever it takes. Swerve keeps the pressure on by attempting a tornado DDT off the apron, but this time it’s Joe who gets to counter, wincing at the pain in his knee as he holds Swerve bolt upright for a VERTICAL SUPLEX ONTO THE FLOOR! Strickland sits up in agony, struggling to breathe from the pain as Taz points out it might have impacted a kidney, but Joe shows no mercy, following it with a GERMAN SUPLEX, NOW A TIGER SUPLEX, AND FINALLY A DRAGON SUPLEX TO LAY THE CHALLENGER OUT COMPLETELY! He rolls Swerve back in, lackadaisically covering for two before driving a few knees into the ribs of his grounded opponent. Joe continues to deal damage in the ring, focusing on the midsection with brutal stomps and round kicks, mixing in throws and slams to continuously wear down his foe. Eventually, he feels like he’s done enough to go for the Coquina Clutch again, struggling to flatten Swerve out, but the challenger is tenacious, protecting his neck and batting away Joe’s arms before trying to slide out from under the Samoan Submission Machine, Joe trying to trap him with his legs… BUT SWERVE TWEAKS JOE’S KNEE TO ESCAPE, AND NOW HE’S GOT HIS OPENING! AXE KICK TO THE BACK OF THE HEAD, AND NOW A JUMPING DDT! HE’S GOT JOE SET, THE CHAMPION COMING TO HIS KNEES… HOUSE CALL! ONE! TWO! THR-NOOO! JOE KICKS OUT!
Swerve gets right back on the attack, pummeling the leg before flattening Joe with a DDT as he tries to get to his knees. The champion’s in trouble, landing an elbow to Swerve’s body before staggering into the corner, but Swerve rushes him with a pump kick in the corner, followed by a series of brutal stomps to the head. He clambers up to the top rope, calling for a Swerve Stomp, but Joe makes him pay for going for broke early, slapping him across the ear to ring his bell before HITTING AN ENZIGURI! Strickland flops across the top turnbuckle, Joe lighting him up with punishing strikes before hoisting him out of the corner for a MUSCLE BUSTER, BUT THE LEG GIVES OUT! Swerve drops down… POISON RANA CONNECTS! ONE! TWO! THR-KICKOUT BY JOE! The challenger rushes to the corner, measuring his target for another HOUSE CALL, BUT JOE TURNS HIM INSIDE OUT WITH A LARIAT! He drives Swerve into the corner, roaring in his face before unleashing a series of punishing headbutts, hoisting Strickland to the top rope and pounding some feeling back into his leg before once again going for a MUSCLE BUSTER… AND HE GETS IT! ONE! TWO! THRE-SWERVE JUST MANAGES TO GET THE SHOULDER UP!
With Swerve having managed to get a shoulder up after a Muscle Buster, a furious Joe is on a warpath, hurling the challenger out to the floor and clobbering him with Muay Thai knees to the ribs and a vicious elbow strike on the jaw. Joe chops Swerve across the chest before uprooting the ring steps, setting them up near the barricade. He sits Strickland on them, winding up to run the length of ringside for a HUGE BOOT, BUT SWERVE KICKS OUT THE KNEE WITH A LOW DROPKICK, JOE SENT CAREENING HEAD-FIRST INTO THE STEEL! Swerve is gasping for air, struggling to recuperate and take advantage, but suddenly, he gets a gleam in his eye as he sees Joe raise his head, bloodied. He winds up… ANOTHER HOUSE CALL TO SEND JOE INTO A SEATED POSITION ON THE BOTTOM STEP! Scrambling to the ring apron, Strickland looks like a man possessed, the crowd rallying behind him as he taps into that sadistic side for a SWERVE STOMP AGAINST THE STEEL STEPS, THE CHAMPION SENT TUMBLING OVER THE BACK OF THEM AT A SICKENING ANGLE! The challenger works with all his might to muscle Joe up and roll him back into the ring, exhausted, but he still manages to scale the ropes. Joe’s on dream street in the middle of the ring, instinctively trying to get back to his feet, but HE’S CUT OFF WITH A SECOND SWERVE STOMP, DRIVING HIM STRAIGHT DOWN INTO THE CANVAS! ONE! TWO! THREE!
Swerve Strickland def. Samoa Joe (15:48) to win the AEW World Title
It was a sprint to cap off a long show, and as Joe looks up at the lights, it’s clear that Swerve’s grit and quick thinking is going to make him one hell of a champion. Prince Nana comes out to celebrate with him, the crowd electric as Swerve Strickland raises the AEW World Championship aloft to close out Dynasty. After the show, he’s congratulated by Tony Khan and much of the AEW locker room at the top of the ramp, including a begrudging handshake from Samoa Joe.
Road to Double or Nothing
With Swerve Strickland crowned champion, he’s kicking off Dynamite at Daily’s Place, getting to celebrate some more with Prince Nana and the AEW fans. He says he worked his ass off and did some crazy things to get his hands on this gold, and now the hard part begins - keeping it away from all those who want to see him dead and buried. On screen, Nick and Matt Jackson appear, the new AEW Tag Team Champions saying that they didn’t appreciate Swerve going over their heads to Tony Khan about his title match. As EVPs, they should be making the decisions, but they’ll sort that out with Tony, who “clearly has a bias towards Swerve, even congratulating him after the show.” Swerve brushes them off, certain he can face whatever odds the EVPs stack against him - after all, they’re still on something of a short leash in management. The Bucks warn him that he has a lot of enemies, and tell him that the Elite are a set of enemies he really doesn’t want to make. Strickland says he’s the champ; making enemies comes with the territory. The Bucks look disappointed, but shrug and turn off the feed before HANGMAN PAGE DECAPITATES SWERVE WITH A BUCKSHOT LARIAT! He brutalizes Swerve, even turning his attentions to Nana with a DEADEYE!
Later in the night, Tony Khan is attacked by the Elite, dying a tragic death and never being seen again on screen. Included in the attack is a reinstated Jack Perry, who’s welcomed into the Elite with open arms before Hangman Page hits the scene. The Bucks look alarmed, having suspended Page months ago, but as Page starts stomping the shit out of Tony Khan, they embrace him, gaining two new members in their ranks.
The next week sees Hangman explain his decision - he says that before Dynasty, he spoke to his wife. In October, Strickland broke into Page’s home, made his family feel unsafe, and Page promised to his wife that he’d make sure Swerve’s dreams never came true. That his behaviour wouldn’t be rewarded. However, Tony Khan stopped him from doing that at Dynasty; he made him lie to his wife, violate his word as Swerve violated his home… so he felt no remorse in doing what he did to Tony, a man who he gave everything to as a day one original of AEW. With the Bucks in charge, he’ll get to make good on his word, albeit a little late - at Double or Nothing, he’ll challenge Strickland for the gold. Swerve better enjoy the glory while he can, because in Vegas, it’ll literally be Double or Nothing; It’ll be a Three Stages of Hell Match, and Hangman will stop at nothing to bring Swerve to the Seventh Circle. Naturally, Strickland jumps Page to get his revenge for the week prior, a massive brawl sparking off and ending with the Elite standing tall.
The remainder of the Road to Double or Nothing sees the stipulations slowly unveiled for the title bout - Page chooses a straightforward singles match, having come the closest to beating Swerve in the past under that ruleset, while Strickland goes for a Steel Cage Match to try and keep the Elite out of the equation (and to rule out the Buckshot Lariat by not leaving enough room on the apron). Finally, should it go to a third fall, the Young Bucks use their EVP powers to make it an ambulance match, saying that if he somehow manages to beat Page once, he’ll still end up carted out of the MGM Grand a failure, just as Killshot should’ve been years ago from the Lucha Underground arena.
Swerve Strickland (c) vs. Hangman Page
Double or Nothing
Three Stages of Hell Match for the AEW World Title: Swerve Strickland (c) vs. Hangman Page
It’s a big fight feel for the main event of Double or Nothing, Anarchy in the Arena having gone the Elite’s way to put Hangman Page in the driver’s seat for this one. Page is out first to Ghost Riders in the Sky, tapping into the same energy that granted him victory against Jon Moxley a year prior. However, Swerve matches it by simply having the roof come off the MGM Grand Garden Arena the second he steps foot on the stage, the pinnacle of self-assuredness as he makes his way down to the ring. He’s been here before, he’s fought this kind of war, and now all he has to do is push Hangman just as far as he did in the past.
Fall One: Singles Match
There’s plenty of hate between these two, but they’re both aware of the fact that there’s at least one more grueling bout to go after this, so there’s a bit of a tentative start. Swerve offers a high hand for a lockup, Page slowly meeting him in the middle of the ring and immediately grabbing a fistful of Swerve’s hair to slam him backwards into the mat, mounting him with a flurry of punches. Strickland flips him over, firing back with shots of his own before rising to his feet, rushing for a running shooting star that Hangman avoids, rolling out of harm’s way to the floor. Strickland gives chase, Page fleeing back into the ring and rushing to the opposite apron as Swerve feigns entering, Hangman slingshotting himself with a BUCKSHOT LARIAT, BUT SWERVE FAKED HIM OUT, INTERCEPTING WITH A DROPKICK TO THE ARM! Page clutches the limb as Swerve lands a high knee to the jaw, following it with a swift DDT to bring Hangman to the mat for a PENTA-ESQUE ARM SNAPPER! It’s clear Swerve’s already set his target, gaining the advantage early by outsmarting the overly aggressive Page, and he keeps the pressure on by looking for a straight armbar, trying to prompt Hangman into giving up a fall quickly to ensure minimal damage is done. However, Page manages to lock his grip, stacking Swerve for two before winding up for a SOCCER KICK TO THE BACK OF THE HEAD, FORCING SWERVE TO RELEASE! He begins ruthlessly laying into Swerve with a flurry of stomps to the skull, brutally assaulting his opponent before the referee starts a disqualification count. Page relents at four, but the damage could well already be done, Strickland looking worse for wear as he struggles to his feet in the corner… AND EATS A RUNNING FACEWASH BOOT, THE CROWD ERUPTING INTO BOOS AS PAGE STANDS TALL!
Beginning to mug the champion with a devastating series of offensive maneuvers, Page is comfortably in the driver’s seat, intermittently giving Swerve a reprieve as he focuses on getting some feeling back into his arm. Soon enough, he looks to wrap things up with a Deadeye, giving Swerve an opening to reverse into a sunset flip, Page rolling straight through as Strickland kips up to NAIL A SUPERKICK TO A KNEELING PAGE! He seamlessly floats behind him, no wasted motion as he hoists Hangman up and over with a beautiful arcing BRIDGING GERMAN! ONE! TWO! THR-KICKOUT BY PAGE! Hangman rolls out to the apron to try and catch a breather, but Swerve’s a menace on the attack, flying at him with a forearm before kicking out the knee, nailing a Gamengiri to drop Page to the ground. Immediately, Swerve vaults over the ropes for an APRON PUMP KICK, BUT HANGMAN REVERSES WITH A DRAGON SCREW, JUST AS SWERVE DID TO JOE! Page grabs his arm in clear discomfort, but he can’t let this opportunity pass him by, lifting Swerve up for a DRIVING TACKLE INTO THE BARRICADE! He gets a hold on the back of Swerve’s head, smashing his face into the top of the barrier before going for a suplex gutbuster onto the guardrail, only for Strickland to reverse and drop into the front row. Hangman instinctively grabs at him, Swerve thumbing the eye and dragging him over for a DRAPING PILEDRIVER INTO THE FRONT ROW OF CHAIRS! The crowd clears out as Swerve muscles his opponent up, Page on dream street as he’s sent back between the ropes… ONE! TWO! THRE-KICKOUT BY PAGE!
It seems as though Hangman’s operating on pure spite to stay in this first fall, commentary questioning what it’ll take for Swerve to beat him not once, but twice if that wasn’t enough. Swerve sticks to the gameplan, stomping the arm before landing a few Kawada kicks to the face to work Page’s head over, hoping to fill his mind with cobwebs and keep him off his game as he lines up for a HOUSE CALL, ONLY FOR PAGE TO GRAB THE LEG! PAGE ROLLS STRAIGHT OVER AND BACK UP TO HIS FEET, TRAPPING SWERVE IN POSITION… DEADEYE! ONE! TWO! THR-SWERVE LIFTS THE SHOULDER! Hangman starts driving knees into the body and head of the grounded AEW Champion, taking the simple approach of pummeling him as much as possible ahead of a certain second fall before stepping out to the apron. Page calls for the Buckshot Lariat, wanting to make the most of its near-certain ability to end a match before the cage takes away his ability to connect with it, but Swerve takes his time getting to his feet. Page launches himself the second Swerve’s off his knees, but STRICKLAND COUNTERS, USING PAGE’S MOMENTUM AGAINST HIM AND NAILING A FLATLINER! He scrambles to roll over, transitioning into a DEADLIFT VERTICAL SUPLEX, BUT PAGE DROPS BEHIND ON ADRENALINE ALONE TO NAIL A BACKDROP DRIVER! Swerve is folded up like an accordion as Page falls through the ropes to the apron, urging Strickland to get up… BUCKSHOT LARIAT CONNECTS, BEHEADING THE CHAMPION! Page clutches his arm in agony, worried the impact might’ve been numbed by his subconscious self-preserving hesitation, but he immediately scrambles to hook both legs… ONE! TWO! THREE! HE GOT HIM!
Hangman Page def. Swerve Strickland (14:28) to win the first fall
Fall Two: Steel Cage Match
Page knows he should take advantage and capitalize immediately, but it’s clear his final furious surge of energy to pick up the first fall has now led to an adrenaline dump, leaving both men down and out on the canvas as the steel cage lowers around them. He’s still the first to his feet, Strickland barely stirring after the Buckshot as Page heaves him up and hurls him headlong into the chain link. Immediately using the structure to his advantage, Hangman grinds Swerve’s face against the steel, drawing blood quickly before swinging Strickland over his shoulder for a LAWN DART INTO THE CAGE, SWERVE TUMBLING DOWN THE GAP BETWEEN THE RING AND THE STEEL! Page admires his work, taking a bit of a breather to try and recover from the massive damage doled out to him in the first round, but he eventually drops down to join Swerve in the tight confines of their makeshift ringside equivalent. With no room to escape, Strickland is left prone to a series of brutal stomps, Page eventually reaching under the ring to pull out all manner of weapons: a chain, a cinderblock, a pane of glass, two chairs, and a special chair wrapped in barbed wire. Sliding the rest of them into the ring, he holds onto the cinderblock, placing it on the apron before lifting Swerve out of the abyss, looking to give him a taste of his own medicine from Full Gear. The crowd watches on in horror as a deranged Hangman gets Strickland up into a fireman’s carry… but SWERVE PUSHES OFF THE CAGE TO LAND BACK IN THE RING, NAILING A DROPSAULT TO SEND HANGMAN INTO THE STEEL!
The champion is showing signs of life now, and with Page trying to balance himself on the apron, he’s got the perfect opportunity for revenge, picking up the barbed wire chair and SMASHING IT INTO THE UPPER BACK OF HIS FOE! Pinpricks of blood give way to a great cascade of crimson down the spine of the Hangman, Swerve maniacally swinging for the fences with each shot on a trapped opponent. Finally, he winds up for one more horrific blow, Page’s face up against the chain link as Swerve charges with the chair… PAGE DUCKS AT THE LAST MOMENT, AVOIDING HIS HEAD BEING SANDWICHED BY MERE INCHES! The chair drops to the floor as Page fires back with a forearm, battling through the pain, but Strickland is merciless, connecting with a headbutt to rock the challenger before rushing him once more, only for HANGMAN TO SEAMLESSLY COUNTER INTO A DEATH VALLEY DRIVER ON THE CINDERBLOCK! Page scrambles to get Swerve back in the ring, but the champion has the wherewithal to drop back down between the cage and the ring, making extracting him virtually impossible for the beaten Hangman. Still, Page grits his teeth, and uses his one good arm to haul Swerve’s body up onto the apron and between the ropes, hooking the leg… ONE! TWO! THRE-NOOO!
Page can’t believe it, a fraction of a second away from a second AEW Title reign, and he’s clearly cracking from the emotional weight of it all. However, he has to keep the pressure on, setting up the two chairs near one of the corners before laying the pane of glass between them. He picks Swerve up for a powerbomb, LOOKING TO PUT HIM THROUGH THE GLASS, BUT SWERVE MANAGES TO DROP OFF HIS SHOULDERS AT THE LAST MOMENT! Strickland drops to the mat behind Page in a heap, Page letting out his frustration with a few petulant stomps before leaning over to pick Swerve back up… AND EATING METAL, SWERVE WRAPPING HIS FIST IN THE CHAIN AND DECKING PAGE IN THE MOUTH! HE STACKS A STUNNED HANGMAN UP… ONE! TWO! THRE-NOOO! Immediately, the champion transitions into a submission attempt, trying to use the chain to assist in locking in a crossface, but Page elbows his way free, pounding away at Swerve’s leg to try and get some space. He scrambles to his feet, realizing all too late that Swerve’s got the chain tangled around his neck - AND NOW SWERVE NAILS A SUPERKICK, PULLING HIM INTO THE STRIKE! Instead of attacking his opponent, Swerve leans over the ropes and laces the chain through the cage wall, grinning at his handiwork as Page lunges at him… ONLY FOR SWERVE TO PULL THE CHAIN, SLAMMING THE BACK OF HANGMAN’S HEAD INTO THE CAGE AND NEARLY SENDING HIM RIGHT OVER THE TOP ROPE! Hangman gasps for air as Strickland wrenches his body weight back, slowly lifting Page off of the ground… but his leg gives out, unable to support both men’s weight for too long. The challenger drops back to the canvas, but Swerve’s managed to use the cage to turn the tides as he catches his breath.
Still holding onto the chain for dear life, Swerve builds up some slack to try and smash Page in the midsection with it, but Page meets him with a boot before removing the chain, averting disaster before connecting with a FALLAWAY SLAM, SENDING SWERVE ONTO THE BARBED WIRE CHAIR! ONE! TWO! THRE-ANOTHER KICKOUT! Strickland is bleeding heavily from his back now too, blood and flesh left strewn about the ring as Page goes for broke. Setting Swerve up on the top rope, he clambers up as well, the crowd rising to their feet as the two crimson-coated gladiators slug it out… AND HANGMAN GETS SWERVE UP FOR A DEADEYE! HE’S TRYING FOR AN AVALANCHE DEADEYE INTO THE GLASS… BUT STRICKLAND GRABS THE CAGE, PULLING HIMSELF BACK AND SENDING PAGE FLYING INTO AN ERUPTION OF CRYSTALLINE SHARDS! Hangman tries to rise up from the carnage on instinct, more glass digging into his skin as he attempts to stand, eventually collapsing once more as Strickland looks down. The ambulance is already parked on the ramp in case this goes to a third fall - if he deals enough damage right now, he could win two straight falls in the span of a minute. Knowing that going full send is the best course of action to maybe wrap this one up, he scales even higher, reaching the top of the cage as Las Vegas erupts… SWERVE STOMP FROM THE TOP OF THE DAMN CAGE, CRUSHING HANGMAN RIGHT BACK DOWN INTO THE SHATTERED GLASS! SWERVE GRABS HIS BAD LEG IN AGONY, BUT IT CAN’T STOP HIM FROM DRAPING HIMSELF OVER A LIFELESS HANGMAN… ONE! TWO! THREE!
Swerve Strickland def. Adam Page (16:10) to win the second fall
Fall Three: Ambulance Match
Swerve can’t stand after such a hellacious drop, still clutching his leg as he sits up in the pool of broken glass. Hangman’s completely unmoving, though, so he has to get a move on as the cage starts to rise for the third and final fall. He rolls under the ropes, flopping against the ambulance doors and heaving them open to pull out the gurney… BUT JACK PERRY’S INSIDE, THAT RAT BASTARD! Jack leaps out as the gurney tumbles to the floor, immediately looking to cinch in some sort of sleeper on Swerve, but Strickland bucks him off and SWINGS THE DOOR OPEN INTO HIS FACE! Perry is stunned for just long enough to give Swerve an opening, Strickland grabbing a fistful of broken glass and HAMMERING PERRY ON THE JAW! Real glass, cry me a river. With Perry incapacitated, Swerve drags Hangman under the ropes and onto the gurney, trying to load him into the ambulance before he has the chance to come to his senses. He pushes the gurney up into the vehicle, but before he can close the doors, Perry’s back up, swinging wildly to give Page a few extra seconds. Swerve fires back, filled with adrenaline as he NAILS PERRY WITH A POWERBOMB ONTO THE RAMP! Hoping to get rid of Perry permanently, Swerve heads around to the passenger’s side door, opening it up and undoing the seatbelt as the terrified driver curls up against the opposite side. He chucks Perry into the passenger’s seat, buckling him in before CHAINING THE SEATBELT TO THE DOORHANDLE, TRAPPING JACK IN PLACE! Perry hurls verbal abuse at the AEW Champion as Strickland looks to head around the back and close the doors on Hangman, but PAGE IS BACK UP, VAULTING OVER PERRY AND TACKLING SWERVE OUT THE PASSENGER’S SIDE DOOR!
Hangman’s got the advantage now, coated head to toe in his and Strickland’s blood as he rains forearms down with his good side. Picking Swerve up, he launches him headlong into the windshield, bringing the gurney around to try and strap the champion down. Swerve fights him off with a few punches, stumbling around the hood of the ambulance, but HANGMAN LAUNCHES HIMSELF FORWARD WITH A MODIFIED BUCKSHOT LARIAT, SLINGSHOTTING OVER THE GURNEY TO CONNECT ONCE MORE! He fights to pick Swerve up with one arm, the final Buckshot doing enough damage to negate his bad arm’s usefulness completely, but the champion keeps going on instinct with feeble elbows to the body. Page drags Swerve towards the gurney, trying to strap him in, but STRICKLAND WITH A WELL-PLACED KNEE TO THE JAW! He staggers away, not quite sure where he is as he finds himself perched against the hood of the ambulance, and now PAGE WITH A BOOT! Hangman clambers onto the hood of the ambulance, bringing Swerve with him as he looks for a POWERBOMB INTO THE WINDSHIELD, BUT STRICKLAND FLOATS OVER… AND PICKS PAGE UP FOR A BRAINBUSTER OFF THE HOOD OF THE AMBULANCE AND ONTO THE GURNEY! He can’t strap Page down, or even wheel the gurney to the back of the ambulance, as the gurney is destroyed on impact. He’s forced to drag Page on one good leg, heaving him around back and attempting to shove him into the vehicle… BUT PAGE WITH A CLUBBING LARIAT! He heaves Swerve up and falls out himself, closing one door… BUT SWERVE STOPS THE OTHER FROM CLOSING!
Swerve kicks the door open and jumps out with a crossbody, only for Page to reverse into a FALLAWAY SLAM INTO THE RING APRON! He tries to kip up as he usually does, but he’s too physically depleted to manage, instead rolling slowly up to his feet and dragging Swerve back to the ambulance. He grabs one of the chairs from the ring as Strickland attempts to stand, leaving great bloody handprints smeared across the ambulance doors as he does. Page winds up, an unsuspecting Swerve turning around as THE CHAIR IS SWUNG STRAIGHT INTO THE DOOR, STRICKLAND DROPPING AT THE LAST MOMENT! The impact reverberates through Page’s arm, Swerve kicking it before taking out the knee with a low dropkick… HOUSE CALL CONNECTS! COME ON, SWERVE! GET HIM IN THE AMBULANCE! He hoists Page up, the challenger vanishing into the shadows of the vehicle… BUT PAGE IS FIGHTING WITH ALL HIS MIGHT, STICKING HIS ARM OUT TO KEEP THE DOOR FROM CLOSING! He pushes his bad arm through the gap, trying to grab at Swerve’s face, desperately clawing to drag the champion into the ambulance as well, but SWERVE SLAMS THE DOOR ON THE BAD ARM! ONCE, TWICE, THRICE, OVER AND OVER AND OVER! PAGE REFUSES TO WITHDRAW THE ARM, SHEER HATRED DRIVING HIM AGAINST STRICKLAND! NOW HE USES HIS OTHER ARM TO FINALLY FORCE THE DOOR FURTHER AJAR, FIGHTING THROUGH THE GAP… STRICKLAND KICKS THE DOOR WITH ALL HIS MIGHT, SANDWICHING A BLOODY PAGE’S HEAD IN THE STEEL! HE’S OUT COLD, AND NOW SWERVE ROLLS THE LIMP BODY IN - AND CLOSES THE DOORS! SWERVE’S DONE IT!
Swerve Strickland def. Adam Page (9:57) to win the third fall
Swerve Strickland (2) def. Adam Page (1) (40:35) to retain the AEW World Title
Road to Forbidden Door
Despite Swerve managing to knock off Hangman Page at Double or Nothing, the Elite as a whole are flying high coming out of the event after beating Team AEW in Anarchy in the Arena. With a collaborative show on the horizon, the EVPs are essentially shit out of luck in trying to screw Swerve over at Forbidden Door, with a Forbidden Door Gauntlet deciding Swerve’s next PPV challenger. Dynamite sees all manner of NJPW and CMLL talent striving to get their crack at the gold, but in the end, Shingo Takagi definitively puts Hiroshi Tanahashi down to stake his claim to Swerve in New York.
We’re promised big time graps as Swerve Strickland’s set to defend the AEW World Title in New York against a man with plenty of experience as a champion in his own right, both in Japan and the United States: Shingo Takagi. Swerve talks about the respect he’s got for Shingo’s ability, and how much he’s looked forward to facing him, but also says he’s lent no quarter when he’s in the ring. Shingo may be bigger and stronger, he may be plenty accomplished, but Strickland’s not afraid to hurt him if he has to in order to walk away with the win - and Shingo promises the sentiment is mutual.
On route to their match, they have a one-upmanship contest teaming together against the House of Torture and Elite tandem of Ren Narita and Jack Perry. Swerve and Perry make a beeline for one another, Strickland’s rivalry with the Elite far from over, while Takagi pushes the pace against the Reiwa Musketeer with an absurd barrage of offence. Despite their internalized competition, Swerve and Shingo end up making a pretty good team, Takagi turning Narita inside out with a Pumping Bomber and a Last of the Dragon for three. Champion and challenger stand tall before standing off, Swerve confident in saying he’ll keep the title in AEW, just as has always been the case at Forbidden Door. Shingo seems plenty confident himself, though - he says before Tanahashi tried and failed on back to back shows to bring the AEW Title to New Japan, he fell to the Dragon at the Tokyo Dome. Takagi’s never had the chance to appear at Forbidden Door in a singles match, and he won’t be falling short now that the opportunity has presented itself.
Non-Title Match: Swerve Strickland vs. El Desperado
On the go-home show, Swerve faces off with El Desperado, because they had tag matches against each other at Forbidden Door 2022 and 2023, and they had insane chemistry. Despy puts in a good showing, but Strickland gets a decisive win with a JML Driver, looking strong heading into his second PPV title defence.

Forbidden Door
AEW World Title: Swerve Strickland (c) vs. Shingo Takagi
With both men having gotten a feel for the other’s arsenal, this is a clinic, Shingo and Swerve trying to outpace and outhink each other before it eventually devolves into outright mayhem, Takagi swinging for the fences to try and dethrone Strickland. Swerve is forced to match him in pace, nailing a 450 Splash to put Shingo on the back foot before attempting a House Call, only for Shingo to avoid the leg, nabbing the arm for a STAY DREAM, STRAIGHT INTO A MADE IN JAPAN! ONE! TWO! THR-NOOO! Takagi clobbers Strickland with a series of forearms to back him into the ropes, rushing at him before Swerve slips behind, no wasted motion as he runs the ropes himself… STRAIGHT INTO A PUMPING BOMBER! SHINGO LIFTS HIM UP FOR THE LAST OF THE DRAGON, BUT SWERVE REVERSES, WRENCHING SHINGO UP INTO A TOMBSTONE PILEDRIVER! Shingo’s rocked… HOUSE CALL CONNECTS! The crowd rallies behind Swerve as he hoists Takagi up into position, SEALING THE DEAL WITH A JML DRIVER! ONE! TWO! THREE! SWERVE STRICKLAND RETAINS THE AEW WORLD TITLE IN AN ABSOLUTE WAR, ENSURING THE GOLD STAYS IN HIS HOUSE!
Swerve Strickland def. Shingo Takagi (20:15) to retain the AEW World Title
Following the bout, Swerve and Shingo shake hands, Takagi congratulating him on a battle well fought, adding Strickland can be as vicious as anyone he’s ever seen when the situation calls for it. Strickland chuckles, slinging the title over his shoulder before WAIT A SECOND! THE YOUNG BUCKS ARE HERE WITH PAGE AND PERRY, BEATING DOWN SHINGO AND SWERVE! Hiromu Takahashi and Titan rush to the ring to try and help out their LIJ stablemate, but the Elite clean house, the EVPs sending a message to Strickland with a Buckshot and a Tony Khan Driver.
Road to All In London
It’s a long two months for Swerve to keep his title safe until AEW heads back to Wembley Stadium, but that’s not all that’s coming up - with the Elite laying waste to Swerve and Shingo after their bout at Forbidden Door, it seems as though Strickland will have to finally excise this thorn in his side. On Dynamite, he comes down to the ring ready to make a challenge, but the Elite beat him to the punch - last year, they won in Blood and Guts, and this year, they want to go two for two. The EVPs tell Strickland via satellite that they warned him about making enemies; now he’s got to find four partners. However, Swerve’s already got one, at least… Shingo Takagi, who doesn’t take much convincing to try and get his revenge, Swerve selling him on the idea by saying that he’s already taken out the Bucks before, so it should be light work to do it again.
The next few weeks see Strickland on a recruiting run for Blood and Guts, getting Bryan Danielson on side by bringing up his shortcomings at Anarchy in the Arena, as well as his inability to be cleared for the past two Blood and Guts matches. This is Bryan’s time to make right for the years of coming up short, and Danielson agrees to stand by his fellow Washington native. Following that, Swerve makes a gamble by trying to bring on Darby Allin. Strickland acknowledges their history, but says Darby has a chance to not only make up for Anarchy in the Arena, but in doing so, all he’s gotta do is something he’s already done - beat up the Young Bucks alongside Shingo Takagi. Darby tells Swerve he simply doesn’t trust him; he’ll be pulling for his team to beat the shit out of the Elite, but he won’t be fighting Swerve’s battles. Similarly, Swerve tries his luck with MJF, saying if he’s a real AEW diehard with a tattoo on his leg, he’ll join forces with him. However, MJF laughs the offer off, telling Strickland to pound sand because there’s no universe where he works a tag match again, rounding it off by saying he’ll be gunning for the AEW World Title by trying to win the Owen.
Desperate to round out his team, Swerve turns to PAC, throwing all the reasons possible at the wall to see what’ll stick - his history with Shingo making them a powerhouse team, his hatred for Okada and the Bucks. He says he trusts PAC to not walk away like he did last year, because this time, the fight will be about his cause, and not that of the BCC. PAC reluctantly accepts, but Strickland remains on edge, unsure of if PAC will stand by him when push comes to shove. Finally, Strickland is confronted by Brian Cage, who says he wants to be on the team. Swerve thanks him, but says he thinks they should go their separate ways, saying he respects Cage and the Gates of Agony, but doesn’t want them getting caught in the crossfire with the Elite. Having framed it as saving the Mogul Embassy the trouble, Swerve avoids a beatdown from Cage, but he’s still lacking a fifth man - leading to Nana suggesting his last partner be Will Ospreay, who he says is directionless after being betrayed by the Don Callis Family (who cost Will the match at Double or Nothing after he refused to use the Storm Driver 93). He’s got history with Okada that Swerve can exploit to get him on side, and even with Kenny Omega gone, he probably hates the Elite by association anyway. Swerve agrees with Nana, approaching Ospreay about joining and landing the tactical dagger to convince him - he tells Ospreay this is his chance to make up for failing the United Empire in a 5v5 cage match in February, which is enough to get Will on his side for a night.
The road to Blood and Guts also sees the EVPs booking Swerve in an onslaught of matches against varied members of the roster to try and wear him down. While Swerve manages to earn victories in each encounter, he’s still clearly in a pretty bad way after seven gruelling matches over the course of three weeks, setting the stage for a battered Swerve to try and lead his team to victory in the most brutal stipulation AEW has to offer. Finally, on the go-home show, the EVPs simply… give themselves the advantage in Blood and Guts, saying they “can’t clear” Swerve to compete in a match to decide who gets it. However, they say he’ll surely be good to go on Wednesday, putting his team far on the back foot before the show even begins.
Strickland, Danielson, Takagi, PAC and Ospreay vs. Okada, Page, Perry and The Bucks

2024.05.27 05:23 Ok-Grocery8680 20f, massive rant about health.

20F, 130lbs, 5’9- Diagnoses- Bipolar disorder, congenital fusion of the C4&C5 vertebrae in the neck, Chronic severe pain in the entire spine, amenorrhea, shoulder instability with voluntary dislocations (my shoulders naturally rest out of socket, and i can wiggle them in and out of the joint, never really caused issues until now)
Medications- (not taking them since Nov though) Prescribed Lamictdol, Wellbutrin, Sertraline
Substances: Electronic Nicotine, some drug use (i like to say that i ‘medicated myself’ with low doses of crystal, once or twice am and the same amount at lunch and pm, but i haven’t smoked for about a week)
Family Histories: heart disease, lung liver and kidney failure, high BP, Diabetes, ovarian cancer, ovarian cysts, breast cancer
Basically…. Just what is wrong with me?
•••••
Im not really sure where to start, but im thinking that the CHRONIC stress i’ve been under for the last 4-5 years is worth mentioning. And when i say chronic I mean.. day after day for years. I, while under the care of my only custodial parent, moved out of 3 states, been homeless at least twice, and have been in and out of contact for almost 5 years.
We originally moved away from our stable home because i called her out for being on meth and being with a child molester. She got crazy paranoid and packed all 3 of us (and my dog) into a minivan. We almost crashed too many times, and stopped at too many sketchy places, but she drove us to another state in the middle of the night with no where to go. Me and her Bf nearly fought several times, weapons involved. We lived in the van for 2 nights before she drove us to ANOTHER state and dropped me off with the man i knew as “sperm donor”. Hadn’t seen him since i was 3, or 4. She left me and the dog there.
Flashback to 2019/2020, moved in with dad, proved to be a trustworthy daughter, watched my dad play cops n robbers in real life, was taught how to be his getaway driver, was Stockholm’ed by and r@ped by him until 2022 when i ‘woke up’ and got out, via contacting my mom. I moved back in to my grandmothers house, except it was a tiny little shed.. from walmart. that i built.
its the end of 2022 and immediately after getting to a safe place i feel the pain growing in my shoulders and chest. in February of 2023 i get a job, get spiritual af, have a mini awakening and start having massive panic attacks at work, and during the busiest hours. it got to the point that i couldn’t even handle the idea of getting ready for work. So i quit. and then spent the entire summer of 2023 rotting in my bed. Ignoring any sicknesses, having nightmares and literal heart attack symptoms and sensations. Mold exposure from weather and food, gained weight, and started recognizing POTS symptoms. Got super depressed. Starting in September, i slept every day away. literally sleeping for 3 days, not eating not having any social interaction this entire year, self harming.
And now, in the past 4 months my weight has dropped rapidly. In December of 2023, I started babysitting. Two young boys who are now my step kids ;) (who are absolutely tony terrorists with behavior issues)
i weighed 220 pounds in NovembeDecember. I was overweight, but starving myself. I was eating less than 700 calories in 2 days, because i thought it made me look better, and i thought that the boys needed to eat all the food, i shouldn’t have any.. I still am, but have now started my own little food therapy routine, with the help of my husband.
In around March of this year, i had a seriously scary cognitive episode. it lasted maybe 3 weeks, and consumed my entire life. Ive always had an internal monologue that i can HEAR, but during that episode it was like it was shut off, or muted. I had what i called an invisible train of thought, i didn’t know what i was thinking until it came out of my mouth. i had nothing going on upstairs but i was on autopilot. That episode came with lethargy, fatigue, anxiety, hallucinations, migraines, poor concentration. After this episode i just haven’t been the same.
Because of the sudden switch in lifestyle, Im wondering if i shocked my nervous system, or maybe just had an adverse reaction to stress?
I’ve noticed a massive increase in physical symptoms.
-Symptoms include— ——(tell me rn why my boobs went from a DD cup, TO NOT EVEN FITTING INTO A A CUP.) •maculopopular rash, fleeting AND persistent •facial flushing with hOT to the touch rashness • Hot red flat rash all over my arms and chest •(Also just now i couldnt remember if i am 19, or 20, and had to ask my husband) •severe lower back pain • shoulder instability, now also experiencing what feels like my shoulder blade grinding againsts my ribs, click click clicking over each rib.. •nearly no fat or muscle in my hips to protect them so they’re re just in pain •2 failed implantations which felt like giving fucking birth when i passed them, and i also bled for a week after •rapid heart beat •pounding head sensation •sick to my stomach constantly •fatigue, im so fucking tired •i cant even handle a small amount of stress before i start hyperventilating •roughly every two weeks my back goes out, and i cant hardly move without it feeling like my spine is crumbling up into tiny little spurs that just stab stab stab

Absolutely incredible meal and the vibes from the staff were unmatched. Everyone we interacted with wasn’t just “nice” they were so chill and friendly, like you had known them for years.
The food was, of course, fantastic. Stand out was the Mentaiko spaghetti, I could eat that every day. Can’t recommend this place enough, will definitely be back.

2024.05.23 02:58 zomgperry Chicken fried steak in Mexico City?

So I moved down here recently from Texas. A few days ago I got food poisoning and I haven’t been able to eat much since. I am finally on the mend and I’m craving some comfort food from back home, specifically some chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes. My girlfriend is a local and she suggested checking out some of the American chains. I browsed a few menus on Uber Eats (Chili’s, Tony Roma’s, Cheesecake Factory) but so far no luck. Does anyone know if there’s a restaurant here that serves chicken fried steak? Worst case scenario I can figure out how to make it myself or wait a couple months until I go back home for a visit, but I’m still curious if it’s something that can be found here. Thanks in advance!

“Flesh and blood.”
“Are they tied up?”
“Yes.”
“Is the video stream secured?”
“Father. Please just trust me. It’s been over a year and all I’ve been doing is obsessing over it. Everything is set up exactly how it should be. Go get mother and we can start okay? I’ll make sure nothing happens down here.”
“It's always safe to be safe.” He smiled and walked up the stairs to get her, closing the reinforced basement door behind him. There are three of them this time and they even tracked down last year’s failure so it’s a sacrifice for each of us; a sign from god and this is my chance to prove myself to him. I’ve watched before but never thought I’d get to be a part of their sacrament. I remember the first time they allowed me to be a witness to it. It was my baptism and I was convinced it was a dream. I never felt more confused in my entire life and It took weeks before I built the courage to discuss it with them. “Why did you do that to Tony? Why did you cut him so many times?” They would always say that they didn’t have a choice and that I should be happy but they never told me why; they would always end it with a “one day you’ll understand” statement.
Human flesh peels and tears easier than you’d think and the adipose tissue glistens like ripe ground cherries; what a sight to behold at such a young age. I still have dreams of drowning in warm blood while a cacophony of agony blazes like the sun inside of my head. I was too young to comprehend it. I’ve always been too ignorant in the eyes my parents’ and thats why I look to the eyes of my lord Absin Folla. Even if I don’t grasp everything theres a feeling inside me that screams to trust it. To trust him. I know Absin Folla will guide me through the most turbulent of time and I need not fear for he is always watching through me.
I turn slowly and walk towards the three sitting on their shins. Their hands and feet are bound with thick jute rope and a burlap sack covers their shameful faces. I step with care even though I don’t need to and I pray in whispers that resonate throughout my body; I pray that Absin Folla excites my heart and harnesses my vision for I am his vessel on this bright, glorious and sunny day. I wonder what they look like and who they are and I have an urge that's becoming overwhelming. I want to see the panic as it overtakes them and not just hear it. I want them to witness the depravity so that they are graced with an opportunity to understand its meaning.
“What’s your name?” I ask and smack the one on the left; they twitch out of fright.
“Please please please--”
“All I want to know is your name.” I could start to feel it this time, growing inside me. It’s not a darkness but a overwhelming urge. I smack the sacrificial lamb with a closed fist this time.
“Andrew! Andrew Huebert--”
“Can I call you Andy?”
“Whatever you want just please--”
“Mr. Hue?”
“Please--”
“Huebert?” I look at him and smile as he continues to weep. It’s pathetic. What a worthless husk of flesh, bone and blood. “And what about you?” I slap the one in the middle, lean close, and am breathing heavily into their face.
“Kayla-- Catterick--” Her voice cracks and she is visibly shaking already.
“Kayla. Catterick. Did you know a Devon Catterick?”
“He-- he's my-- my--”
“Kayla, listen to me.” I tap hard on the burlap sack covering her face. “You need to calm down or I’ll have to make you, okay?”
“My brother--”
“Thank you Kayla.” I pat the top of her head in a calming manner. I knew Devon since I can remember and Kayla would always tag along on our adventures into the nearby woods. We’d climb trees and pretend we were hunted by the worlds greatest assassins. We normally got along, only got into a few fights but we were young, isn’t that expected? He was the closest friend I ever had. When Devon was reported missing the whole neighborhood came together and scoured every inch of the county. A shoe was eventually found on the northern side of the forest but a connection was never made to him. Of course people have their suspicions but those same people provide no evidence, only fantastical and absurd accusations.
“And finally. Who’re you?” The last one on the right grunts as I slap him and tilts his head up without a response. I can feel him staring through the burlap sack at me; I can feel his vengeful gaze. I smile and chuckle and slap him again much harder. “WHO. ARE YOU.” He says nothing and soaks in the silence. I punch him where I think his nose is and raise my voice “ANSWER ME!” I stare at him and can feel my blood heating up as he stays silent, only adjusting himself to look directly at me again. I bite my lip and spit on him. “I’m trying to be nice and you refuse to reciprocate. This is the last fucking time I ask. What is your name?” His head tilts down and he stays silent for another 6 agonizing seconds before answering. My fists tighten.
“Aaron Eckert.”
“Was that so fucking hard, Aaron?” I hit him twice, once on each side of the head and it echoes throughout the basement. I can hear Andrew and Kayla trembling as they become agitated from the noises. I lower myself to Aaron and whisper in his ear “I’ll remem--” The basement door slams open and causes a wave of anxiety to shoot through me. I quickly stand, fix my posture and turn to see my parents walking down the stairs, holding each other's hands and smiling. I walk over to the bottom of the stairs to greet them.
“Father. Mother.” I take their hands and bow my head. She acknowledges and kisses my head while he simply nods towards me. “The witnesses await.” I tell them. They both walk over to the three sacrifices and her eyes are extra bright as she kisses his cheek and lets go of his hand. She walks back and forth in front of them, three times, tapping and lightly flicking her fingers onto the sacks that cover their faces. Andrew and Kayla continue breathing heavily. She stops, squats down and whispers something to Kayla. Kayla begins to cry and shifts her arms around trying to free herself from the light brown colored rope. She moves her hand in a comforting gesture atop Kayla’s head and stands back up, still leaving her hand massaging Kayla’s head. She looks like she’s peering directly into Kayla’s soul. “Cain, have you chosen?” She asks. I look at her for a few seconds before I respond and point to Aaron on the left. “I have.” She looks at me and then looks back at Aaron. “He will be perfect for you.” She walks over to him and kisses the top of the sack before returning to his side; she runs her hand through his dark brown hair and kisses him several times on the side of his lips. “Let’s not push this off any longer. Cain, start the stream and notify the server.”
“Yes mother.” The computer sits on a plain wooden desk with shelving on the right side of the monitor. A long red cable runs from the desk, up the wall and towards the center of the basement where a webcam attaches to the ceiling. I start the streaming software and a red light flickers on the front side of the webcam. The video feed displays on the center of the screen with text boxes for a stream title, go live notifications and a stream chat log. I’ve helped with preparations before but never from within the same basement. Both parents have shown interest involving me before but they always pushed me away in the moments that mattered the most. They’ve even shown me some of their older and more hateful streams; films is what they used to call it. Things someone won’t forget seeing or hearing. Things most people would be shameful for or remorseful for but both her and him relished in their blinded depravity. It’s the acts they focused on rather than the meaning of it all though and I despise that the most about them. Their ignorance was and will always be overly self-righteous. How could they not know?
*“Flesh and blood.”*
Users quickly join the chat; after the first 20 I type “Patience, for glory will find those who wait” and I enable the chat feature for all; there's close to 100 now and Chat is actively engaging already; I give a thumbs up and start the stream. I monitor as they continue to stand still in the video frame and in front of their chosen. She reaches for a new face first; its blond hair drapes down the wall. He grabs one with darker hair and no mouth; you could see the crudeness of the tearing where the mouth once was. They put on their new faces before turning and revealing themselves to the stream. I can feel my heart speeding up now, a slow increase that I pray intensifies. He turns and grabs one of the knives hanging on the wall and rips off the burlap sack of his sacrifice; Andrew squints and yells through his gag. Andrew’s eyes bulge. He grips his hair and pulls up with violent force causing Andrew to scream out even louder as Andrew begs.
“Please! Stop! stop! stop! What did I--” He hits him with his left fist and pulls his hair again and holds it at an extension this time, fully stretched; he moves the sharp knife to Andrew’s throat and puts pressure onto the blade, letting it sink into the flesh a little. Bright red blood quickly pools and glistens around the blade.
“For death brings new life.”
“And may his suffering bring us great blessings.” She raises her arms into the air and he presses the knife in a sawing motion and it disappears into Andrew’s neck; his wails turn to gurgles and squelches as the knife cuts deeply through flesh, muscle and cartilage. Wet gasps erupt from Andrew’s lacerated throat and for a few seconds his legs and arms frail like a possessed doll. Blood spews out and covers the concrete floor and shines brightly under the old fluorescent lights. He struggles as he continues slicing though and eventually around his spine. Kayla yells and thrashes side to side as she hears the ripping of sinew; Andrew’s head falls to the floor with a thud and his decapitated body slumps forward and splashes into the warm blood. He stabs his knife into the bloodied and ripped stump neck so deep only the handle of it can be seen. I can feel my heart thumping loudly inside my chest now. Chat goes wild from it and I step away from the desk and walk over towards Andrew’s headless body. I stare at the gore in a trance before I step onto the sleek blood and grab Andrew’s hair and lift his head up; blood drizzles from the bottom of it and I stare even closer as I lift it even higher above.
“Cain. Bring me that head.”
“What?”
“Bring me that head.” He repeats it slowly. I hesitate but walk over and hand him Andrew’s head and he grabs it with both hands. Immediately after taking Andrews head, she abruptly lifts the sack covering Kayla's head and he forces Andrew’s face onto Kayla’s. “A final kiss.” He taunts her with it. Kayla vomits through her gagged mouth and gets clubbed on the side of her head. She shoves Kayla forward onto the wet floor and her head smacks down with a wet thump. She mounts and sits on her arms, already bound behind her back while Kayla kicks her legs and wheezes and struggles loudly as she removes her soiled gag.
“Stop struggling, you filthy bitch.” She spews the words with vitriol. “Get your face Cain.”
I stare at Kayla before I walk over to the wall and grab the most youthful face that speaks to me, and place it over my own; I feel my confidence grow and I feel exuberant underneath it.
“Hold her hair Cain!” I grab Kayla’s hair and lift it up so I can look at her velvet blue eyes. “Hold her tight!” She scolds me. She takes one of the large cleavers from the wall and grips it with hatred.
“Please please please don’t! I won’t--”
“WE ARE BLESSED.” Without another warning, she swings her arm forward and slashes Kayla’s neck vertically; blood gushes from the deep laceration. Kayla’s eyes widens and she screams and gurgles incoherently. Each slash more deep than the last. I hold her head tilted up by grabbing her hair tightly and with growing strength as her life drains away. The lacerations are more like gouges as the violence continues; she’s trying to tunnel through Kayla’s throat with a butcher's cleaver and the depravity makes me feel both catatonic and elated.
“Let her go Cain.” Her voice is delayed and slow. I drop Kayla’s hair and her body goes limp. She spins in a circle before slamming the cleaver with full force into the back of Kayla’s head one last time, splitting her scalp and sticking it as deeply as she could into it. The sound was vibrant. She kicks the body onto its stomach before she goes over to him and kisses him. “Show us your faith Cain. Show us the values you’ve been taught.” She says aloud. Thoughts explode with all the ways I could dispose of Aaron and I stare at the corpses of Andrew and Kayla in a stupor as I lose myself in it.
*“Flesh and blood.”*
I turn around and scan the tools hanging on the wall. Which one do I want? A long thin blade I can really mangle his flesh with? A short one to dig out his neck or eyes with? Or do I want a well balanced one I can slowly slice his face and neck apart with like cheap lunch meat. I remove the boning knife from the wall because I want efficiency over everything else. I turn and walk towards both her and him and stop in front only a foot away. “Absin Folla blesses us tonight. Thank you Father and Mother for my inclusion.” I see them both side eying each other with a sparkle of bewilderment as I walk over to my sacrifice, Mr. Eckert, who has sat quietly the entire time, even through all the violent commotion. I remove the burlap sack and reveal a face without a gag. He is quit handsome, objectively speaking. Aaron continues looking at the ground while I stare down at him. No, he refuses to look at me because he’s scared and weak and he cannot accept this current moment hes trapped in. I kick him in his side and he wheezes loudly and struggles to breathe for a moment; he still looks down at the ground though. “Why do you not show any respect?” I punch him in his face and I wait for a response, I am seething with rage.
“I don’t fear you--”
I lunge forward and stick the knife into his neck, placing it as close to his spine as I can; the sharp side faces away from his spine. I struggle to cut in a sawing motion and am blinded with a rush of adrenaline as my knife slides and slices out of his neck. I stab him twice in the chest and twist and rock the knife around while it's still inside and he howls out his first uncontrolled noise of the day. I can’t hold back my amusement as I relish in this moment. Instead of succumbing to the adrenaline I’m able to harness it. I will finish this with the lord himself holding guiding my hands. I grip Aaron’s hair and pull his head back, trying to split and tear the edges of the first crude incision. The cut is so deep it feels like I could twist his head off if I tried hard enough. I stab the knife again in his neck and feel it scrapping on bone but this time the blade faces up towards his jaw. I grip and slide the blade upward to his jawline; I twist again and am nearly overcome with euphoria. Aaron frails violently before his body goes limp; he’s just a corpse now, or maybe he couldn’t handle the pain any longer. I slide the blade out and away finishing the cut and bury the knife as deep as I can into his chest. I grab his opened throat with both hands and rip the thick filet from him. I have to grip it twice and twist and contort it before it rips away from his neck. I stare at the blood covered gore in my hand; the cartilage, the muscle, the soft tissues and the other bits of anatomy I wonder the names of. “I give you, Absin Folla, this offering.” I close my eyes and feel a dizziness as a slick and metallic taste fills my mouth and begins warming my throat. My teeth crunch through it and I moan loudly as I stand and toss what remains onto the floor. “Now. I offer what you’ve asked Absin Folla.”
*“Flesh and blood.”*
I pick up my knife and walk back over to the wall covered with tools and take one of the larger paring knives.
“I thought you would take--” I lunge over towards both of them and she stumbles backward onto the floor while he grabs my arm with all his strength.
“Turn it off Cain! Stop--” I lunge the paring knife into his right eye and it slides in smoothly. I twist as quickly as I can and can feel the pain as it vibrates throughout his body and soul. He screams out and kicks me in my stomach but I hold my ground and thrust the much larger boning knife into his side numerous times. I feel the knife slide and scrape in between his ribs as the blade disappears. He falls to the ground and I mount him and stab him in his face viciously until he stops moving and making sounds, with all of my might. He is unrecognizable now. Blood pools covering his eyes and spilling onto the floor. I look over at her now, still sitting on his corpse and I try to imagine her expression behind that fake face she wears. What’s she thinking? I wonder. I roll my shoulders back before I speak. “We’re all just flesh and blood, mother… Can you think of anything more beautiful?”

I recently gave CJ Dasida Soup Stock's Beef Flavor a try, and it's safe to say it's become a staple in my kitchen. The product, hailing from South Korea, boasts some bold flavors that truly make a difference in my cooking. With a rich and savory beef taste coupled with the premium taste of select vegetables and seasonings, my dishes have been elevated to a whole new level.
Being Korea's top-selling soup stock brand, CJ Dasida is a testament to the company's commitment to delivering quality seasonings. I've been using it in soups, stews, and other dishes that need a beefy kick, and the results have been nothing short of impressive.
However, despite its great taste and versatility in the kitchen, I've noticed that some users might find the product a bit on the pricey side. But for me, the quality and consistency of flavor make it worth the investment.
In conclusion, if you're looking for a high-quality soup stock with a strong beef flavor, CJ Dasida's Beef Flavor is definitely worth checking out. It adds depth to my dishes without overpowering the other ingredients, making it a must-have for all aspiring home chefs.

🔗Organic Chicken Stock for Flavorful Dishes

https://preview.redd.it/fbh8gzjryj1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=57bc4918353a3906a3dd9ed26ceb6cb356fc77fe
As a foodie who loves to whip up delicious meals at home, I was thrilled to try out the Kitchen Basics Organic Free Range Chicken Stock. One of the things that stood out to me right away was its taste. It's robust, and the chicken flavor is so well-balanced that it rivals homemade stock.
The product's high-quality ingredients also caught my attention. It's made with just chicken, vegetables, and herbs and spices - no nasty additives like MSG. Plus, it's gluten-free and low in sodium! It's perfect for those of us who prefer healthier options.
However, I must admit that the price point is quite high. For a 12-pack, it can be quite expensive. And there have been instances where the stock has expired before its indicated date, which was a bit inconvenient.
Despite these minor drawbacks, I've found that this stock is definitely a reliable staple to keep on hand. It's great as a base for chicken soup, casseroles, and even risottos. I highly recommend giving it a try if you're looking for a quick and easy way to add depth of flavor to your dishes.

🔗Pacific Foods Chinese Chicken Stock - Traditional Flavor

https://preview.redd.it/y332j60syj1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=aa9a59c0fb7984c31f5043a305f4573819313879
As someone who's tired of the overwhelming taste of store-bought stock, Pacific Natural Foods Simply Stock - Chicken stood out in my pantry. Made from organic, locally sourced ingredients and free from any additives, the taste takes me back to my childhood.
I'll never go back to those artificial-tasting alternatives again. Plus, who doesn't love the convenience of popping open a carton? .
BPA-free packaging is a win-win for everyone, and the unsalted option allows me to tailor the taste to my preferences. Whether I'm in the mood for a hearty soup or a savory dish, this chicken stock has got me covered.

🔗Kitchen Basics Organic Chicken Stock, Tastes Good and Balanced

https://preview.redd.it/lxqy73bsyj1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=10c242e1c6cca352155e420721fdb4cbb83393f5
Imagine coming home after a long day, feeling famished, and craving some comfort food. You reach for a can of Kitchen Basics Organic Chicken Stock, eager to whip up a warm and flavorful soup. As you pour it into your pot, the tantalizing smell of roasted chicken and cooked vegetables fills your kitchen, transporting you to a cozy, home-cooked meal. The chicken stock comes with a plethora of organic ingredients – from vegetables like carrot and onion to spices such as turmeric and thyme, making every sip a mouthful of comfort and quality. And the best part? It's a gluten-free, free-range, and yeast-free chicken broth – perfect for those with dietary restrictions or sensitivities.
As you taste your soup for the first time, you're delighted by the flavor balance. There are no overpowering flavors, just the perfect harmony of each ingredient. The chicken is highlighted while the vegetables and spices lend a depth of flavor that just hits the spot.
However, every product has its drawbacks too. This one was no exception. While it lasts a good amount of time before expiring, I did come across a can that expired in 2018. Luckily, it was evident from the smell that it had gone bad long before its expiry date. The aroma that pervaded my kitchen and the ruined ingredients for my soup was less than ideal.
In conclusion, the organic aspect and the balance of flavors make Kitchen Basics Chicken Stock a delightful addition to your pantry. However, be cautious about the expiry date to avoid spoilage, and it comes with a premium price tag. Nevertheless, the quality of ingredients and taste make it a comforting choice worth considering.

🔗Enhance Your Chinese Cooking with Panda Brand Oyster Flavored Sauce

https://preview.redd.it/g9ywmnusyj1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9c492f19ff0cd9dabe1ac473bbe03ccb26aa1f30
I recently tried out the Lee Kum Kee Panda Brand Oyster Flavored Sauce in my cooking, and I have to say it definitely enhanced the flavor of my dishes. The sauce is rich and savory, adding a depth of umami that is quite delightful. One of the highlights was its versatility - it didn't just work well with typical Chinese stir-fries, but also added a unique twist to Western dishes like pork chops and cottage pies.
The no preservatives added aspect was a great highlight for me, and it was refreshing to use a sauce that didn't have any extra additives. This made the experience more natural and authentic, just how it should be. The sauce was also halal, which is always an important factor when choosing my ingredients.
However, there were a few drawbacks as well. The saltiness of the sauce was quite intense, and I found myself needing to use a lot less than usual to avoid overpowering the dish. Despite the convenience of the 32-ounce bottle, I ended up wasting quite a bit of it since it stayed unopened for extended periods. Also, the instructions on the packaging should be clearer about usage quantities, as they were a bit confusing.
Overall, my experience with the Lee Kum Kee Panda Brand Oyster Flavored Sauce was mostly positive. It added a wonderful depth of flavor to my dishes, but I would recommend using it sparingly due to its intense saltiness.

🔗Premium Brown Braising Sauce for Chinese Dishes

https://preview.redd.it/b0axqx7tyj1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9d21e72bbdd23ee2b30eb0e92189f9036bab1975
Recently, I stumbled upon Lee Kum Kee's Brown Braising Sauce during my weekly grocery haul. As a fan of Chinese cuisine, I was eager to try this versatile sauce in my recipe experiments.
Upon opening the bottle, I was greeted with an inviting and savory aroma that immediately piqued my taste buds. I decided to use it as a marinade for pork ribs, and I must say, the results were phenomenal. The sauce transformed the bland-tasting pork into a mouthwatering dish teeming with rich, savory flavors. My guests couldn't stop praising the tangy and aromatic taste, and many of them requested the recipe!
While the sauce truly elevated the flavor profiles of my cooking experiments, I noticed a slight aftertaste that I couldn't quite place. It wasn't unpleasant, but it was noticeable enough to be slightly distracting. I couldn't help but wonder if it was due to the use of wheat or soy in the sauce, as mentioned in the product specifications.
Overall, Lee Kum Kee's Brown Braising Sauce has become a regular in my kitchen, and I often use it to bring out the succulent flavors in my meat dishes. However, I would suggest being mindful of the slight aftertaste that some might find slightly distracting. But, don't let that stop you from trying this delicious sauce and exploring its potential in your culinary creations!

🔗Whole Foods Market Organic Fat-Free Chicken Stock

https://preview.redd.it/uebrixwtyj1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=803ae05780687caf890a4084fb9c7023472501b7
I was excited to use 365 by Whole Foods Market's Organic Chicken Stock in my cooking, especially since it was a fat-free option. First, I opened the container and noticed the golden hue of the chicken stock, a promising sign. Pouring it into my stew, I was delighted by its rich taste that elevated the dish to another level.
The use of organic free-range chicken, carrot purée, and a blend of seasonings really shone through. However, there was one downside - the sodium content was higher than I usually prefer.
Other than that small detail, this chicken stock was a great addition to my cooking routine. The affordability of this Amazon brand was a bonus, making it an overall satisfying experience.

🔗Sichuan Spicy Noodle Sauce by Lee Kum Kee - Authentic Chinese Flavor

https://preview.redd.it/2t1xgp3uyj1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=714a1130e20e377443ffbf375226258392909b38
The Lee Kum Kee Sichuan Spicy Noodle Sauce is an excellent addition to any Asian food enthusiast's pantry. It's made with authentic ingredients, like red chili, Chinese vegetables, shrimp, and soybeans, giving the noodle dishes you make a bold and flavorful kick that's hard to forget. I found it particularly useful when preparing a comforting bowl of noodle soup to enjoy on chilly days.
However, one minor drawback is that it is a bit spicier than I'd expected, so it's recommended to start with a small amount of this sauce and gradually add more to your taste. Overall, the Lee Kum Kee Sichuan Spicy Noodle Sauce delivers on its promise, offering a delicious and versatile way to enhance your Asian noodle dishes.

🔗Vintage 1980s Thick Frame Reading Glasses, Made in China

https://preview.redd.it/ubalcshuyj1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=98db24d16950434ea3febb220798ce2dd157b510
Experience the nostalgia of the 1980s with these Big Square Optical Quality Reading Glasses. These frames, boasting a vintage thickness and square shape, were a staple in the '80s fashion era. The glasses are meticulously crafted from high-quality acetate, giving them an air of durability, and they feature metal hinges and wire core temples for added strength and resilience. The optical quality of the frame is noteworthy, delivering a crisp and clear viewing experience.
One highlight of these glasses is that they are new old stock, which means they've been sitting around for years in excellent condition. While some may believe this is negative, it simply adds to the unique charm and appeal of the glasses. However, the 'made in China' aspect might be a drawback for some, but it doesn't detract from the overall quality of the product. Fit information for the glasses includes a 54mm eye size, 17mm bridge, 145mm temple/arm, and a width of 5 1/4 inches by height of 1 7/8 inches.
The only downside that users have pointed out, is that they run a bit small, and might not fit everyone comfortably. However, on the whole, these glasses are a well-made and visually appealing choice for those seeking an old-school reading glass experience.

🔗Kitchen Basics Chicken Stock - All Natural Liquid Pack

https://preview.redd.it/v9sijysuyj1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=86354512e2da19e94b78103faa3e7cae60f34762
Recently, I found myself in need of a high-quality chicken stock for a special recipe that required a bold, natural flavor. Kitchen Basics Chicken Stock proved to be the perfect solution. This all-natural stock is made with real chicken and other wholesome ingredients, giving it a rich and savory taste that's perfect for enhancing any dish.
One of the most impressive features of Kitchen Basics Chicken Stock is its texture. It's thick and hearty, so it gives a fantastic depth to soups and stews. Plus, it's not too overpowering, allowing the flavors of the dish to shine through.
However, the one downside I noticed is that it can be too concentrated for some recipes, especially if you're using it as a replacement for water or in dishes with less liquid. You may want to dilute it a bit to achieve your desired consistency.
Despite that minor issue, Kitchen Basics Chicken Stock has been a valuable addition to my pantry. Its natural ingredients and rich, satisfying taste make it a great choice for anyone looking to add depth to their cooking.

The 12.3 oz bottle, filled with 350g of fiery perfection, is perfect for adding a touch of Sichuan flare to stir-fries or as a dipping sauce. The Hong Kong-based brand's unique blend of spices and seasoning adds a bold, slightly spicy taste that will elevate any meal.
The bottle's sleek packaging makes it an attractive option for any kitchen shelf, while the net content ensures it's convenient to use. Overall, this sauce is a must-try for any foodie looking to add some zest to their daily meals.

🔗Taiwanese-style Chinese Sausage by Xishangxi

https://preview.redd.it/bpyi8wlvyj1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=041bb4399149c992d267ad58f386fb62f7fdb311
I recently tried the Taokaenoi Chinese Sausage Taiwan and it was a delight to my taste buds. This brand takes sausage to a whole new level, offering a unique Taiwanese style that I hadn't experienced before.
The preparation process is simple, with just steam required for around 15 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 166°F/74°C or above. I loved this sausage in my favorite steamed dumplings, which became an even more enjoyable meal.
However, I did notice that the sausage has a strong aroma, which might be overwhelming for some people. Nevertheless, it didn't affect the taste, and I still found it delicious and worth recommending to others.

🔗Authentic Chinese Herbal Tea for Dieters

https://preview.redd.it/3zl3qp7wyj1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=418e5cebb18ece53e4559505f9a965e10019a7b0
Recently, I've been trying out the China Green Dieters' Herbal Tea, a product that boasts an impressive rating and lots of positive feedback from reviewers. As I've been incorporating it into my daily routine, I've noticed several aspects that stood out to me - both positive and negative.
One of the highlights of this herbal tea is its premium blend of natural herbs based on an old Chinese book of medicine. The individually wrapped tea bags make it convenient to take on-the-go or to include in a busy schedule. Each bag contains a servings size of 1 cup, which means you can enjoy 30 servings per container.
However, there are some aspects I'd like to mention that may not be a perfect fit for everyone. For those who've had bariatric surgery, it's stated that the dosage may need to be cut down to be more carefully considered. The product's laxative effects may be quite strong, especially during the first few days. Some users have reported experiencing intense pain due to the potent laxative properties.
On the other hand, the tea does seem to help with bloating, aiding the digestive system, and providing a more natural approach to achieving a flatter tummy. The absence of artificial additives is appreciated, making it more of a healthy alternative compared to other teas on the market.
In conclusion, the China Green Dieters' Herbal Tea is a product with both pros and cons, with its natural ingredients and convenient packaging standing out. However, for those with bariatric surgery or sensitive stomachs, it's crucial to be mindful of the laxative effects and potentially adjust the dosage accordingly. Overall, it is a product worth trying out but may not be suitable as a long-term solution.

The absence of added proteins and MSG was a refreshing change from some of the other stocks I've tried in the past. 2024.05.17 16:49 Wooleyty I'm A Park Ranger Working At Yellowstone, And I Faced The Dogman

Sitting here, in this chair, it's hard to believe the view from my window used to be the endless stretch of the city. Now, it's all trees, hills, and the most picturesque town you could ever imagine. They call it Big Sky, right outside Yellowstone, which suits it perfectly. I've been here for six months, and honestly, I've never been happier to be out of the city.
But I don't think I deserve this peace after what happened. Ten years I spent as a cop in LA with little to no incident. That's why they only fired me, I suppose. Ten years and one day, I made a mistake that changed everything.
I responded to a bank robbery call, and half of the force was downtown in seconds. With no clear leadership, chaos ensued. I'm not sure who shot first, but it triggered an eruption of bullets toward the robbers.
We're trained to react in a second to situations like this. So, after only five seconds, every gun was empty. For some reason, I paused. I didn't pull the trigger. When I realized what had happened, I panicked and shot at the first thing I saw move while everyone else was reloading.
It was a mother and her daughter trying to run away from the shots. Everything stopped in my life at that moment. I saw every cop's eyes on me; some were confused, but some who realized what happened had a look of sympathy.
The media frenzy was insane, and I don't think I'll ever fully recover mentally. I've grown my beard, and my hair is longer than usual. I've successfully gone under the radar, except when I tell someone my full name. I can sense their looks of disgust, even though they never say anything.
There's not a night that I don't see the mother and her daughter in my dreams. Their faces haunt me, and their screams echo in my mind.
It's funny how things change, you know? One minute, you're a cop; the next, you're a park ranger. Well, not really a park ranger; more of a forest ranger. The forest's solitude amplifies the guilt that gnaws at me every day. Every rustle in the leaves and every gust of wind feels like a reminder of what I did. And yet, I can't bring myself to leave. It's as though I'm punishing myself, living in this quiet, isolated place where my only company is the ghosts of my past mistakes. Sometimes, I catch myself thinking about what their lives would have been like if I hadn't made that fatal mistake. Would they still be alive, laughing, and enjoying life? The weight of their loss is a burden I cannot shake.
Out here in Big Sky, it's not like dealing with bears and mountain lions; it's mostly just tourists lost in the woods and the occasional poacher. And then there are the kids... God, the kids. They're always sneaking into places they shouldn't be, trying to find a thrill.
The air is clean, the sky is blue, and the trees stretch for miles in every direction. The only time you see a cop around here is when they're escorting a senior citizen across the road.
And then, just like that, everything changed. Two hikers went missing. At first, it was just another day. I went about my rounds and checked in on the usual hotspots. But then I saw their faces. They were young, probably in their early twenties. Their faces were plastered across every news channel and every billboard in town. It was almost as if they were haunting me.
The first few days were chaotic. Search parties were organized, and the entire force was called to help find them. But as time passed, and there was no sign of them, the search began to die. It was as if everyone had accepted the fact that they were gone.
I couldn't help but feel a weight on my chest every time I saw their faces. It was like they were a constant reminder of my own failures. I tried to push the thoughts away to focus on the task, but it was impossible.
The search parties continued, and with every passing day, the hope of finding them alive dwindled. It felt like I was holding my breath, waiting for a miracle. But deep down, I knew that miracle was unlikely to come.
And with each passing day, the guilt weighed heavier, sinking me deeper into despair. Every time I looked at the faces of those missing hikers, it felt like a punch to the gut. Their disappearance was a haunting echo of my failure, a stark reminder of the lives I had unintentionally shattered. The knowledge that my hesitation and mistake led to this tragedy was a burden I could hardly bear. It felt like I was carrying the weight of their absence on my shoulders, and no amount of searching could alleviate the guilt that consumed me.
I decided to go where the hikers were last seen along the trail. They'd passed another group of hikers around the five-mile marker, but who knows how far and in what direction they have gone since their last sighting.
As I get to mile marker 5, I notice a tree that looks freshly fallen. The inside was splintered with fresh, healthy lumber in the middle of the tree like someone or something had pushed or fallen on it. I went to investigate and noticed large footprints leading further into the woods, but I'd never seen anything out in these woods big enough to create something this large. My mind immediately went to dinosaurs, but I quickly shook that off.
The footprint was unlike anything I had ever seen before. Enormous and ominous, it stretched deep into the earth, leaving a chilling impression of what had passed through the forest. Each claw mark was etched deeply into the soil, as though whatever creature had left it had tremendous power behind each step. For a moment, I couldn't shake the feeling that I was being watched. It was a footprint like that of a wolf but far larger and more menacing, a stark reminder that things in these woods were far beyond my understanding.
With a shiver, I followed the footprints' trail into the woods, my heart racing. The air seemed to grow heavier with each step, as though some immense weight was pressing down upon me. The trees seemed to close in, forming a menacing canopy overhead, blocking the sunlight and casting the forest into a cold, eerie twilight.
The footprints led me to a small clearing, where I caught sight of movement out of the corner of my eye. My heart leaped into my throat as I whirled around, but there was nothing but a small opening for a cave on the side of the mountain.
I walk closer to peer in, but it's too dark to see anything. I contemplate using my phone light when I hear a huge thud in the trees behind me. I turn quickly, but I can't see anything. Thinking I was too paranoid, I decided to walk back to the path. I walk past the spot where I thought I heard the thud, and it looks like a fresh pair of prints. I have to be going crazy. I return to the path and make it to the station as the sun sets.
I can't stop thinking about those footprints and that cave. As I lay in bed later that night, every time I fall asleep, I dream about the entrance to the cave and the two hikers screaming for help inside. It's like there's an invisible wall preventing them from escaping. I see their faces better as I approach and realize it's the mother and daughter I shot in LA. I wake up covered in sweat every time.
The following day, I asked Lauren, one of my coworkers and the only person who treats me like I'm not an outsider from a secret club.
"You should ask Henry; he can access any record we've ever kept. Maybe he can find something about the cave in that clearing." She told me.
"You think he'll help? Since I've arrived, everyone has been so distant, like they're hiding something from me." I reply, hoping she feels enough sympathy to ask Henry herself.
No luck as she replies, "Yeah! Henry's a good one. Look, you've only been here, what, six months? Give it time; I know people will warm up to you."
"Thanks, Lauren," I say, disappointed, as I head to Henry's office. He's been here longer than anyone, so he must know something. When I knock on his door, he looks up at me over his glasses as wrinkles form inquisitively on his forehead. I wait for a greeting, but it never comes; there is only an awkward silence before I break it.
"Hey Henry, how's it going?" I ask awkwardly
Henry sighs and leans back in his chair as he folds his arms, waiting for me to ask him to do his job.
"Um, yeah, so I found this small cave entrance near the Hart Trail. I saw a tree that must've just been torn down from the middle a few days before I arrived, and I saw these giant, weird-looking footprints. I followed them, and I found the cave entrance. Do you know anything about that cave?" I ask, hoping he'll be more willing to help.
Henry's unamused look faded the more I told the story. He knew exactly what I was talking about.
He leans forward, resting his forearms on his desk, looks up at me, and says, "Nope."
I waited for him to expand, but once again, he left me to marinade in the awkwardness.
"I mean, can you look at least? And even if it's not recorded, don't you think you'd want to put it on record?" I ask, annoyed at his unwillingness to act like he wanted to help.
My frowns and sits back in his chair and says, "Are you telling me how to do my job, rookie? I've been here longer than most of these townsfolks were even conceived," He started to raise his voice the more he talked, "and you come in here after what you did to that poor mother and daughter. Yeah, you didn't think anyone knew?" I knew people were aware, but hearing him say it, it stabbed through my chest like a serrated knife made of ice.
Realizing that he has lost his temper, he calms himself and cleans off his glasses, "Get permission from Forest Supervisor Reggie, and I'll be your personal Google." He looks back down at his computer and continues doing whatever he does.
Still stunned, I stand there, not knowing how to react to this interaction. After a few seconds, I slowly turn around and return to my desk.
The rest of the day is a blur as I try to focus on my other tasks, but Henry's words keep replaying. Every time I close my eyes, I see the footprints and the tree that was torn down. Everyone in this office knows something they aren't telling me.
Finally, after what feels like an eternity, I muster up the courage to go see Reggie. I knock on his door, and he calls me in. He's an older man with white hair and a kind smile.
"Sir, I-" I say, but before I can continue, Reggie puts his hand up to stop me from talking and chuckles.
"Please, just call me Reg. Sir, sounds like we're in the military." He said as he placed his hand down on his desk.
A little thrown off, I continued telling him about the tree off the hiking trail, footprints, and the cave I found. Just like Henry, Reggie's face dropped as I explained. He stares at me briefly before fixing his face and responding, "Oh, yeah, that sounds like old Grungers Cave. It's probably recorded somewhere."
"Yeah, that's why I'm here. Henry said I needed your permission to get more information about the cave." I reply
He looks at me, puzzled and weary, "What kind of information are you looking for, exactly?"
"Well, I don't really know yet. Something about it gave me a weird feeling, so I thought I'd look into it." I said
Reggie looked at me briefly before changing gears, "With all due respect, you don't have anything else to do?"
I was caught off guard, not expecting him to shut me down like that, "Yeah, you're right. Sorry sir, Uh, Reggie."
I turned around and left the room. As I thought of how to get information without letting anyone at the station know, I decided to try the library.
The library is quiet, with a few people here and there doing their own thing. I asked the librarian if they had anything on Grungers Cave, and she directed me to the local history section. I spend hours pouring over old newspapers, books, and archives, trying to find anything to help me.
One book, written by a local historian, has some information on the cave. According to the author, Grungers Cave was found in 1917 and nothing in particular sticks out except for a short passage that briefly mentions local tales about a giant creature who is said to live near this cave. After about an hour, I gave up and decided to go out there again to see for myself, making sure to bring a flashlight.
As I drive back to the trailhead, I wonder if the stories about the giant creature were just a cover-up for something else. Maybe there was something else in that cave that people didn't want found. Tonight, I'm going to find out.
It's getting dark as I return to the hiking trail and the cave. I can see my breath as I walk, and the air is crisp and cold. The trees loom overhead, their branches swaying gently in the breeze. I can almost feel the presence of whatever has been haunting me since I found that footprint.
I take a deep breath and steady my nerves as I approach the cave entrance. The entrance is narrow and covered in moss, making it appear almost organic. I flick on my flashlight and step inside, bracing myself for what I might find.
The cave's interior is more extensive than I expected, with jagged stalactites hanging from the ceiling like teeth and jutting stalagmites rising from the floor around me like bones. I move further in, feeling a sense of dread creeping up. There's an unsettling silence here, broken only by the echo of my footsteps and the distant sound of water dripping from above.
I shine my flashlight around, searching for anything unusual, and my eyes fall on a large, irregular shape half-hidden in the shadows. As I approach, my heart starts to race. It's a pile of bones, human bones. The realization hits me like a punch to the gut. This is a crime scene.
The hair on the back of my neck stands on end as I carefully move around the cave, finding more and more evidence of foul play. The further I go, the more confident I am that something terrible happened here. The bones of at least four people are scattered about, and there are signs of struggle everywhere. I try to remain calm, but I can feel my breath coming faster and faster.
Suddenly, I feel the air get thick as I hear the rumble of big footsteps in the shadows before me. My heart pounds against my ribs as I realize what's about to happen. Before I can react, the creature lunges at me, its massive form filling my vision. Its skin is pale and rough, covered in dirty and matted fur covered in moss and twigs, like it's been living in these caves for centuries. It's a monster, a beast that shouldn't exist in the modern world.
I manage to dodge out of the way, but it's not fast enough to escape its grasp entirely. The creature's claws rake down my arm, tearing through my jacket and leaving long, deep gashes that fill with blood. I stumble backward, feeling the cold, hard stone of the cave floor beneath me. My heart is racing, and all I can hear is the sound of my own panicked breathing.
The creature looms over me, its putrid breath washing over my face as it growls low in its throat. Its eyes are like two burning coals, glinting in the light of my flashlight. It's not human, not anymore. Whatever this creature was once, it's been twisted and warped by whatever horrors it's faced in these caves.
I try to stand, but my legs are weak and shaking. The pain in my arm is excruciating, and I can feel warm blood trickling down my side. The creature circles around me slowly, claws clicking against the stone floor. It seems to be studying me, sizing me up. I can't move, I can't breathe, I can't even scream.
It turns its back, and I take a moment to get on my feet and run out of the cave, hearing the creature's roar echo against the cave walls. I can hear its giant footsteps getting closer and closer until I finally reach the entrance and throw myself out. The creature doesn't follow as I sigh in relief on the floor.
Shaking uncontrollably, I try to catch my breath as I look at my bloody arm. The cut is deep, but I don't think it's life-threatening. I need to get out of here and call for backup, but first, I must find something to use as a tourniquet. I look around and spot a nearby tree, its branches laden with vines. I rip some of the vines off and quickly tie them around my arm, trying to staunch the flow of blood.
Once I'm sure I've done what I can, I return to the station, my heart pounding. My vision is blurry from the pain and shock, but I manage to make it to the front desk. I collapse into a chair, trying to catch my breath. The receptionist looks at me with wide eyes, concerned for my well-being.
"What happened?" she asks, her voice shaking. "Are you okay?"
I try to calm my breathing before responding. "I...I think so. But I need to tell you what I found." I gesture to my bloodied arm, and she jumps to her feet, looking horrified. "No, no, it's not as bad as it looks. Just...get a first aid kit."
She practically runs out of the room, and I lean back in the chair, closing my eyes for a moment. When she returns, she carefully cleans, stitches, and bandages my arm, all the while listening to my story. I told her everything that had happened, but I could tell that she didn't believe me.
"You're sure you didn't imagine this?" she asks, her voice filled with doubt. You should get some rest and reconsider your story in the morning.
I nod, trying to convince myself as much as her. "I know what I saw. It wasn't a dream, and it wasn't a hallucination. That thing...it wasn't an animal. It was some sort of Monster. And it's still out there."
She sighs, looking unconvinced. "Look, I'm sure you've been through a lot tonight. Why don't you just go home and get some rest? We can deal with this in the morning, okay?"
Reluctantly, I agree and head home, hoping word doesn't get around to Reggie that I went back. The rest of the night passes in a blur of nightmares and restless sleep. I can't shake the image of that creature from my mind, and every time I close my eyes, I see its razor-sharp claws and ravenous yellow eyes.
When I finally muster the courage to return to the station the following day, I find that the receptionist didn't report my little expedition after all. Maybe she thought I was crazy too. I feel a strange relief as if admitting my story would make it real.
I make my way to my desk, still shaken from the events of the night before. The station is bustling with activity as usual, but it's difficult for me to focus on anything but the Monster. I try to convince myself that it was just a dream, a hallucination brought on by stress and exhaustion.
I went through my day on autopilot, trying to make it through my shift. When I went home, it was only 8, but I went to sleep as soon as my ass hit the couch. I had dreams of the creature and what it could do to me. I woke up in a cold sweat; looking at the clock, it said 2:03am. I knew I wouldn't be able to go back to sleep, so I decided to start my morning early by brewing some coffee.
The Monster still plagued my mind as I showered and groomed for the day. I dressed in jeans and a t-shirt, the injury on my arm itching slightly as I pulled a long-sleeved shirt on to hide them. I didn't want to draw more attention to myself than I already had.
I decided to head to the station since I had nothing else to do. As I drive, I start concocting a plan to get the information from Henry. I knew he wouldn't be in for a few more hours so I could snoop around his office. I park my car and go to his office; I take a deep breath and slowly open the door. The room is just like I remember, messy and full of clues. I sit at his desk, feeling guilty but determined to find what I need to know.
I begin by searching through his files, looking for anything that might have a connection to the secret society. Finding a few files with suspicious names and symbols doesn't take me long. As I flip through them, I notice a hidden drawer in the desk. I pull it open and find a stack of even more incriminating files. They're filled with names, dates, and locations of people who have disappeared, all linked to something called The Covenant of the Hound. I feel a mixture of fear and determination as I slip the files into my bag.
With the evidence in hand, I know I have to do something about this. I can't just ignore it and hope it goes away. I decided to see if I could find anything else on The Covenant of the Hound. I search the dusty shelves and find an old, leather-bound book. The title page reads: "The Covenant of the Hound: Values".
I carefully open the book, expecting to find some twisted code or hidden message. Instead, I'm met with seemingly innocuous paragraphs about loyalty, obedience, and protection. As I read on, however, a darker undertone begins to emerge. The Covenant seems to be less about helping others and more about controlling them. There are mentions of ancient rituals and bloodlines and a monster demanding complete submission from his followers. In return, the Monster provides protection from any threats brought to the members. This had to be the Monster I saw in the cave.
Shaken by what I've read, I quickly close the book and put everything back in place. I can't help but feel a sense of dread as I make it to my desk. I know that I have to do something about this, but at the same time, my mind is running about who exactly is a part of the Covenant.
I decided to start with the files I found earlier and see if I could find any connections between the names on the list and Henry's friends or acquaintances. As I searched through the files, I came across Henry's note that he was meeting someone important early in the morning at a local diner. The time said 4:30am, an hour away. I decide to find the diner and wait for them.
I drive to the diner, parking my car discreetly down the street as I wait until I see them. I watch Henry's car pull up, and another person pulls up behind him. They exchange words before Henry hands something over, and the other man leaves. Henry returned to his car, likely heading to the station, so I did the same.
As I follow him, I can't help but feel a sense of dread in my stomach. I don't know what I will do, but I know I can't let him get away with whatever he's involved in. Maybe if I confront him, he'll tell me the truth. Perhaps he's not part of it, and this was a misunderstanding. But then, why did he have those files on his desk? And why did he meet that man at the diner? I decide to keep the information to myself and act like I know nothing as I park my car at the station.
I walk into the station, trying to act casual and approach the locker room. There's a strange atmosphere in the air today; everyone seems on edge. I quickly change into my uniform and head to my patrol car, hoping to avoid awkward conversations.
As I drive through the forest, I can't help but feel a sense of unease. Every shadow, every movement, every sound makes me jump. I try to push these thoughts away, telling myself that I'm just being paranoid.
When I get to my post, I notice Lauren sitting in her car. Was she waiting for me?
I get out and knock on her window to get her attention, and she rolls it down.
"Hey, you okay?" Lauren asks, noticing the look on my face.
I take a deep breath and try to compose myself before answering. "Yeah, I'm fine. I just... I think I might have made a huge mistake." I tell her about finding the files in Henry's desk and seeing him at the diner earlier, giving something to a mysterious person. I leave out the part about the Covenant, just in case.
Lauren listens intently, her eyes narrowing as I speak. "And you think Henry's involved in something shady?" she asks.
I nod, feeling a mixture of fear and anger. "I don't know what to think, but I know I can't ignore it."
Lauren sighs, her expression softening. "Look, I can't confirm or deny anything, but I can tell you this: if you're worried about Henry, you should stay away from him. He's not who he seems."
I nod, feeling a mix of relief and fear. "What about you? Can I trust you?"
Lauren gives me a small smile. "You can trust me. I've been watching out for you, even before all this. I want to help you, but we need to be careful. The people you're dealing with are dangerous."
I nod, still not entirely sure what to think. "What do I do now?"
Lauren looks around, making sure no one is watching us. "We need to be careful. I can help you, but you need to trust me. And you need to understand that this goes deeper than you think. The people you're dealing with are powerful and dangerous."
"How do you know that?" I ask hesitantly.
"Let's just say I have my sources," Lauren replies cryptically. "Now, listen carefully. You need to keep your guard up at all times. The people you're dealing with are smart, and they're watching you. They'll try to make contact again, probably through someone close to you. You can't trust anyone."
As she says this, I can't help but feel a chill run down my spine. "So, what am I supposed to do? Just wait for them to make the first move?"
Lauren shakes her head. "No, you need to be proactive. You need to find out more about this secret society. You need to find out what they want from you and why they're after you. You need to figure out how to stop them. If my research is correct, we need to kill the Monster."
I take a deep breath, my heart racing. "Kill the Monster? What do you mean?"
"The secret society is called the Covenant," Lauren explains. "It's been around for generations, and it's behind some of the most horrific events in the town's history. They're led by a man called the Master, who you saw at the diner earlier. He has a pet name for the creature: the Dogman."
I don't know what to do with this information. Ironically, I trust her less now that I'm aware she has ties to this Covenant; even if they're loose ties, it still makes me weary. I try to gather my thoughts, but my mind feels like puzzle pieces. "So, what's our plan?" I ask, not seeing any other direction to turn.
Lauren leans in closer, her expression serious. "Our plan is to kill the monster."
I get into her cruiser, and we drive toward the cave, not knowing if I will make it past today alive.
"I don't understand why they're after me," I say as Lauren navigates the narrow path to the cave. "What do they want from me?"
"You know too much, James, and they know it. You've been asking questions about things you shouldn't have. You were getting close to something they've been trying to keep hidden for a long time. They want to control the information, and they can't do that if you keep digging." Lauren says as she parks the car, and we both get out.
She takes a deep breath, steeling herself before continuing. "They're not going to let you go easily. They'll come after you again, and getting away might not be easy next time. We need to be prepared. You need to trust me, and I need you to trust yourself."
I nod, feeling a mixture of fear and determination welling up inside me. "Okay," I say, taking a deep breath. "Then let's do this."
We approached the entrance to the cave, and I quickly set up bear traps that Lauren had stored in her cruiser. Lauren watches me intently, offering advice and suggestions when needed. As I work, I can't help but feel a strange sense of purpose, as if everything in my life has been leading up to this moment.
Once the traps are set, we both step back, our hearts pounding in our chests, "Now, we just wait." Lauren said
Hours have passed as we sit in a bush, out of sight, and still no creature or signs of anything. Lauren, ever so patiently, is chewing on her fingernails, making my stomach turn. I look at her, and she looks back at me, worry etched on her face. We've been sitting here for an eternity, and I'm curious if I've made the wrong choice. I should have run away, hidden somewhere, and tried to forget about this whole mess. But I can't shake the feeling that I'm not supposed to leave this place, that there's something more I need to do.
Hours pass as we tell each other our life stories. I must admit, at some points, I'd forgotten the danger we were in and found myself having fun. Lauren's an interesting person. She's lived a life of adventure. She's seen things that I can't even begin to imagine. And yet, here she is, sitting beside me, waiting for a monster to come out of a cave.
My eyes grow heavy as the sun starts to set. It's completely night when I open my eyes, and I panic, forgetting where I was and why. As it all starts coming back to me, I look for Lauren, but I don't see her anywhere. I get up, trying to stay quiet, to look at the traps. One is closed and has a blood trail leading to the cave entrance. I frantically look for Lauren but still don't see her. As I peer into the cave, I can see light flickering like the cave was lined with torches the further you go in. I continued to follow the torches with my flashlight in hand when I heard an uneven sound of giant footsteps behind me. When I turn around, I see the vast creature limping into the cave, so I find a crevasse to hide in.
As I carefully peer out, I see the creature limping slowly, periodically stopping to lick its wound. I try to shallow my breath and stay as quiet as possible. The light flickers brighter as it draws closer, and I can see it better now. It's massive, with skin like burnt leather and eyes that glow with an eerie yellow light. Its limbs are like a twisted and deformed wolf, moving with a strange, jerky grace.
As I carefully shift my weight, a small pebble, just big enough to make a noise, tumbles. The creature jerks its body in my direction and roars. It sounds like a mixture of a human screaming and a lion roaring. It takes a step closer to me, its yellow eyes piercing the darkness. I try calming my breathing, praying it doesn't hear or smell me. The creature takes another step and another, inching closer with each move. My heart feels like it's going to beat right out of my chest. I can't even begin to imagine what it would be like to face this creature in a fair fight.
Just as I'm sure it's close enough to smell me, I hear what I can only assume is Lauren screaming at the top of her lungs. The creature quickly limps away, further into the cave. I'm momentarily relieved but then realize that I have to find her. I carefully follow the creature's trail, hoping it leads to Lauren. The cave winds deeper and deeper into the mountain, the air growing colder and more damp. As I round a bend, I see a flickering light in the distance. My heart pounds in my chest as I cautiously approach, wondering if it's Lauren or the society.
I enter a pitch-black round room. As I swing my flashlight, I can't see anything in the room until I hear Lauren whisper, "Pssst, James."
I go toward the sound, but I can't find anything. When I turn around, my flashlight catches the creature before me as it lunges toward me. I was able to jump out of the way, just in time, but he was able to scratch my cheek a bit, but nothing life-threatening. On the ground, I frantically search for something to defend myself with, and I find a sharp, long rock and pick it up.
I looked up and saw the creature lunging at me again, but this time, I wasn't fast enough to move as it grabbed me with one hand, tightly by my waist. It lifts me up to its face, but before it can do anything, I plunge the rock into its left eye as it drops me onto the floor.
It roars and stumbles around as it runs into the walls, falling to its knees periodically. I slide my body on my butt until I hit a wall. I get to my feet and follow the wall, making sure to avoid the stumbling creature. I finally found an entrance, but it's different from where I came in. Finally gaining composure, the creature sees me leave and stumbles toward me. I run deeper into the new tunnel, praying it leads to safety.
I hear voices further into it, and I sprint as I make my way into a room of about eight individuals dressed in brown cloaks. Some of them have a hood, hiding their faces. Startled by my entrance, they all look up, and I recognize most faces. Reggie, Henry, Freddy the theater owner, Larry the elementary school principal, and the most surprising one, Lauren.
One of the men I didn't recognize, who looked to be the leader, opened his mouth to say something, but before he could, the loud footsteps limping is heard echoing toward us. The man smiles wide and relaxes himself, likely confident he controls the creature. As I hear the footsteps, I run toward what I assume was the exit, but I'm tackled to the ground, and everyone cheers and laughs.
I look up and see Lauren on top of me, the one who tackled me. Her smile is horrifying and not at all like the Lauren I know. She leans close, her breath hot on my face as she whispers, "I'm sorry, James. I had to do it." The creature enters the room, still stumbling as it accidentally crushes two members under its foot, not seeing what it is doing. The leader begins screaming mysterious words that I can't remember, which seems like it snapped the creature out of its destructive ways for a second before realizing the pain in its eye again.
It continues destroying everything in its path indiscriminately, killing most of the Covenant members. Lauren was still on top of me, and neither of us was moving in shock about what we saw. I snapped out of it and used the moment to get the advantage, so I grabbed a nearby rock and hit Lauren over the head with it, causing her to fall to the ground, still conscious but unmoving. I run toward the exit, but I look back one more time and see the creature tearing bodies apart as blood and the screams of something I've never heard in my life fill the room.
As I run, I can faintly hear Lauren begging me to help her, but it turns into a blood-curdling scream that echoes in my ears to this day. Finding my way out took about half an hour, as the cave was like a maze. When I make it out, I head to Lauren's cruiser and dig through her stuff, hoping to find something to help destroy the cave entrance. Finally, after too many minutes, I see a pickaxe, which, thinking about it now, looks pretty odd. But then again, Lauren was never the person I thought she was.
I use the pick and attempt to remove enough rock on the sides so the top will cave in and cover the entrance. I was doing this for about 45 minutes when I heard the faded, limping footsteps of that creature heading out of the cave toward me. I hurried my pace, but I'd already done a good amount of work on both sides. My arms are starting to give, but my mind won't let them quit as I hear the footsteps, which are now accompanied by the roar and growl of the creature getting closer. I only have about 5 more minutes until it makes it to me.
As the growl gets louder, I finally remove enough rock, and it all comes tumbling down on top of the entrance, sealing it shut. I fall backward onto the ground, exhausted and out of breath, as the growling gets louder. When it finally reaches the caved entrance, I can hear it howling and roaring in anger.
Looking around, I see I'm now at the forest's edge. I stand up and walk away, still in shock at what had happened, not knowing where to go.
Walking, I feel something warm and sticky dripping down my arm. I look at it in horror and realize that it's blood. I've been wounded, somehow. I try to remember if it was from Lauren or the creature, but my mind is still reeling from the night's events.
I keep walking, figuring out where to go or what to do. The forest around me is eerily quiet, almost as if it's holding its breath, waiting for something to happen. The trees loom overhead, their branches swaying gently in the night breeze. I try to remain calm and focus on my surroundings, but the adrenaline from the attack keeps pumping through my veins.
I look down at my arm again and see that the blood is still seeping out, staining my shirt and dripping onto the forest floor. The pain begins to set in, and I realize I have no idea how badly I'm hurt. I can't get to a hospital in time; hell, I don't even know where I am. Feeling weak, I sit with my back against a tree and slowly fall asleep.
When I wake up, I'm in a hospital surrounded by doctors. I feel an immense pain in my arm as they wheel me into the ER. I pass out again and wake up four days later.
Doctors tell me that another ranger found me and brought me in. My heart sank as I thought of the possibility of the Covenant saving me for some reason. I started to panic and asked about discharge, but they told me that they had to do surgery on my arm since it had gotten too infected.
Long story short, I had to be sedated for a month straight, and I lost my arm. Every day, every moment I wasn't sedated was filled with panic. I dreamt of the creature and Lauren. The creature scared me, but Lauren's betrayal hurt me the most. I know I didn't know her for long, but she was the only one there for me. I now realize that she was probably planted to ensure I stayed away, and when she realized I wasn't going to back down, she led me to a trap.
The doctors kept telling me I was lucky to be alive, but I didn't feel lucky. I felt like a failure. A month passed, and I finally fully woke up from the sedation, feeling restless and angry. I demanded a discharge, and after hours of arguing, I was back on the streets.
That was eight years ago, and I still dream of the creature and Lauren every night. Whenever I have trouble with my missing arm, I think of them. At this point in my head, they have become the same Monster.

2024.05.16 20:33 Agreeable-Mood-235 I laughed at my neglecting parent's face when they tried to "reconnect" with me. It was so satisfaying and liberating!

My "parents" had me in their early 20's and my golden child brother after a few years.
My story isn't something of new or special and since i was 4 i was the classic neglected child in favor of my golden "brother" Carl. I can stay here hours talking about how my "parents" didn't even remembered when my birthday was, the times when they left for vacations and i was relegated at home or the times when my "father" (Dan) tried to lay hands on me and i always give him back all my frustrations and anger issues.
All this mess started when i was 6 and after 2 years that they forgot my birthday, even when i was 5 and told them that it was my birthday, and i clearly asked them why they hated me so much and their answer left me broken until now "you're a disgrace for our family, your mother cheated on me and had you so i convinced myself somehow to keep you" and the "worst" thing is that Dan said this with a very normal tone like it was the most normal thing to say to a 6 year old child. Since than i accepted that my life was this so i started to bully people at school. (Emotionally and physically) When i was 14 i met my bestfriend and even now he is the only person of this fucking world that i trust 100%. (This part is important for later)
My school was a public school and no one ever gave a fuck about me and just punished me with suspention of a few days or post school "detention". So yeah since i was 10 i was a bully but my bestfriend (Tony) was the only one that saw in me the broken guy i was and it's like he is the only one knowing me and understanding me. Coming to my "parents" they too obviously neverg gave a fuck about me, my life, if i was a bully or anything about me and thanks to Tony when i was 15 i started to do part time jobs to save money for my future and in 3 years i had a pretty good amount of money (not that much but enough for me). My "brother" obviously made always things worst by treating me like i was shit, insulting me and treating me like i was some kind of animal but i was way more talller and bigger than him so everytime it was an easy win to make him black eyes, livids and one time 2 broken ribs.
But then finally a few days before my 18th birthday thanks to Tony we "elaborated" my escape from that house and we planned that i would remain to his house since his parents were always away for business trips. I still remember the day before my 18th birthday cause i did everything me and Tony planned. Packed my stuff, left a note on the table in the living room (full of insults, swears and death wishes to my "parents" and "brother"), i put my phone on that table with the letter (i already had a new one with a new number) and then left.
The day after me and Tony went to a bar to celebrate and i just remembered being drunk as shit for the whole day hahahah.
Well 10 years passed by and my life "improved" in this years cause me and Tony started our business and now is going extremely well, i have finally my own house, my own cars and i live alone like i always dreamed. But this are only the good things cause the bad things are way more and still very present in my life and mind. I still hate them all, i hope everyday for their death and i still can't trust anyone or just see the worst in people (obviously Tony a part) but i'm ok with this and would never change.
So my life was going ok when a few days ago before going on to do my job i saw them, my "parents". I hoped many times for their premature death but unfortunetly it never happened and seeing them there where i work just raised my anger and frustrations. I tried to ignore them but they blocked me and started to do all that ugly shit of hugs, kisses, asking me how i was, how my life was going and all this shit for like 20 minutes. I standed there with my fists ready to do what i wanted but seeing me like this unfortunetly made them scared and they started talking about their life, that they were in debt for my "brother" expenses, they absolutely nedeed money and this type of bs. In this time i didn't said a world to them and after they finished i couldn't control it anymore and i started laughing my ass off for like 3 minutes.
After i finished laughing i make my way to enter and before they could anything i instructed the security there to never and for any reason let them in and if they would force their way the only solution was to call the cops. Obviously they tried to go in but cops were involved and they were brought away.
When Tony knew about this shitty situation he was worried that i would had killed them both there on the spot but i assured him that the cops dragged them away. He was a bit confused on my reaction and asked me if i was fine, i told him of course and that day i worked with an energy that i never felt.
So that's all. My laugh was a liberation of everything i went through and their absolutely being idiotic to only think that i could help them anyway forgetting those 18 years of neglect and being treated like shit. Poor fools.
I don't even know why i'm writing this here but according to Tony, since i refuse to do therapy, this space can be a good space where i can write about myself so here i'm.
