2024.05.14 16:04 PremierBromanov Space Exploration is beautiful and I implore you to give it a shot if you havent, before space age is upon us.

Its my first time in SEk2, and only my second modded playthrough (the first being k2, which went quickly). So far, I've finished energy science packs and we're working on astronimical and material science.
During the 2 hours me and my friend spent PLANNING our next moves in Norbit, I began to understand the beauty in the tech tree and a feeling of satisfaction that has long been absent from factorio for me.
In the beginning of factorio, every technology feels impactful. You're given new tools to solve problems, automating old problems and allowing you to move at greater speeds in order to encounter brand new problems. But, once understand the tech tree, technology loses its lustre. You can get all the tools you need pretty quickly, and while this is generally preferable to clawing through the desert for a drop of water, sometimes getting that drop of water is worth the entire trip.
Here in SEk2, you might not research a new technology for hours. Not that it takes that long to research, but there's just so much to do with every new technology, because its a requirement to update our factory with every new technology. In vanilla, you might speed run to a specific technology and spend some time building the factory and by the time you've finished a small part of it, the tech tree is basically finished. Here, there's no "skipping" technologies. You have to work through every tech, almost like getting a new age in Age of Empires. In the beginning, you're forced to use burner technology, which necessitates fuel or coal to operate. You can spend a lot of time with zero electricity. But when you get there, you can start stripping down the factory to improve it and make things move faster. There's a puzzle to solve every step of the way. It took us like 20 hours to get trains. I didnt see a requester chest until i was already a man.
Now, I've noticed new level of brilliance that I really like. Once you get into space, there are 4 main paths in the tech tree (and more), each with their own specific rewards that will help your factory grow: Pink, Yellow, Blue, and Green (they have names, i dont care). Each path has a specific resource requirement, so careful consideration has to be made since you'll need to land on a planet to get that resource and then send it somewhere to make the tech cards. That in and of itself is really cool, but now that we've conquered the first tier of Pink, we've noticed in our planning that no matter what our next path is, we get an added bonus of already having pink done. If we choose yellow, we can unlock technologies that require both pink and yellow technologies, and those overlapping technologies can be very powerful. Same with Green or Blue, we unlock technologies that also utilize pink. And moreover, there are even technologies that require 3 or 4 of the colors. And each of those paths of course has 4 tiers, each intermingling in a beautiful chaotic dance. (And of course, there's more beyond that).
And honestly I'm just awestruck. I've spent at least 50 hours chewing and digesting this mod and ive barely scratched the surface. All of this is saying nothing about the production chains and the creative problems you get to solve. So many byproducts and loops. You can increase productivity by adding additional complex crafts to your production line, and every step of the way there's a new logistics problem to try to solve.
I spent a lot of time being uninterested in modded factorio because I didnt think it could be thoughtfully and beautifully designed. As a creative work, it stands shoulder to shoulder with other titans. I am not kidding when i say that this mod is, as a work of art, comparable to the masterpieces of any other medium, relatively speaking. If people understood factorio to the degree that they understand Michelangelo, Shakespeare, or Steven Spielberg, they would erect at least one mid-sized statue in the place of Earendel's birth and maybe even an off-off-broadway play.
Hats off to Earendel, cant wait to see what you guys came up with in space age.

How can I zoom in more for pixel art
I'm using clip studio on my tab S8 , I usually use aseprite on my computer but I want to make pixel art on my tablet too. However I just can zoom into enough so that my art will fit my screen. The max is 3200% which I'm guessing is from my screen resolution. So is there a way to change this to a different mode? For zooming.

2024.05.14 15:15 Skralx I liked Ludwig and I´m disappointed

I want to preface this by saying: I think Ludwig is funny. I like his "appease to all audiences" type of humor mixed with the games he plays. Watching his stuff just calms me down.
I´m also watching Destiny since the Israel Palestine Conflict began.
For a few months I have just been watching Ludwig and 1/2 other streamers for entertainment and Destiny for political stuff and have been in my mind just ignoring the fact that Ludwig has relations to Hasan because he didn´t say anything political. It´s kind of hard for me to separate "art" from "artist" so I was really happy about the fact my view of Ludwig wouldn´t be spoiled by any dumb political take.
Queue the Destiny Ludwig Drama:
I at first thought that Destiny went overboard with his responses and especially bringing QT into this. And I still kind of do in a sense that I think just ignoring them would have been better. But after this subreddit brought up several clips that proof mean behavior from Ludwig towards Destiny and Destiny explaining his feelings on stream I definitely got why Destiny was so upset and lashed out (again in my mind, staying more chill would still have been the way, maybe even to a more open discussion but I get that´s not who Destiny is and I´m not wearing his shoes and have to listen to shit about me every day).
Now being mean or being "spineless" a few times in itself don´t make me go "Yea I don´t like this guy now". I think making mistakes is human (I know cringe) and If Ludwig would have said "Yea those past remarks were really shitty I´m sorry Destiny" I would have been all good. But Ludwig is more or less just ignoring the topic, trying to deflect on other things and not admitting to his wrongdoings.
Then he brings in his political views. I would have been totally fine If he just said "people dying bad I want to just help those and donated 10k". For me and I think for most? Pro-Israel people that is a totally fine take. Yea people and especially children are dying. If you want to send help to those I´m not gonna judge you obviously.
But then he said this: https://x.com/CapriSunnPapi/status/1790110883068457151
BRO... The people you are saying are on the "right side of history" are pissed at you for only donating 10K. And sorry but you did "a lot"? of research. Destiny does a lot of research. He spends fucking days swimming through Information (Wikipedia🤡) and you still let a joke about that slide on your show. What type of research did you do?! Speak to Hasan? Speak to Slime´s friend? Or did you look up stuff on Twitter? And in my opinion you can be informed about this conflict and still be Pro-Palestine but to then think the students are the heroes? 💀 The protestors are the worst thing that has happened to this cause outside of Gaza. The protestors are the people that blame you for trying to not force your opinion on anyone! The pro-Israel crowd is mostly just blaming you for trying to be such a people pleaser (which again I would have been totally fine with)
Whatever, I still hope Ludwig opens his eyes and stops appeasing the Hasan crowd that hates him when he says something remotely away from their ideal cause I really enjoyed his streams and videos.

2024.05.14 06:08 therealjinu Subject: Seeking Laptop Advice for Drawing with Clip Studio and 3D Software

Hey everyone,
I'm currently in the market for a laptop primarily focused on drawing, with a keen interest in using software like Clip Studio Paint and various 3D modeling tools. Initially, I planned to invest in a PC setup, but due to unforeseen circumstances, I've had to rethink my decision and opt for a laptop instead.
I've been researching extensively and have come across the Legion 5 Pro as a potential option. However, I've noticed recurring concerns about the screen turning off and not charging, which has made me a bit hesitant. On the other hand, the Omen series has received favorable reviews, although noise levels from the fans seem to be a common point of criticism.
One thing I dislike about laptops, in general, is the noise from fans, so I'm particularly sensitive to that aspect.
I'd love to hear your experiences and recommendations regarding laptops suitable for digital art and 3D work. Are there any other models you've had success with or issues to watch out for?

2024.05.14 04:25 Southern_Charm1299 Tabitha, please read since we know you live here.

I have many things to say but let me start here... I don't hate you because of "Mommy issues" or because you are "Chosen and a mirror", I absolutely despise you because you are a lying, lazy, scamming, con artist. You are 40 years old without a single thing to show for those 40 years on this earth. You spend 23 hours a day, horizontal, pouting and fake crying at your phone screen to play on people's emotions to manipulate them out of their hard earned money under the guise of diamond art. You have made hundreds of thousands of dollars off of the backs of others but have not improved a single thing in YEARS. You act like a cheap whore on the internet, on a platform that supposedly, the children that you have already severely tarnished, to see you less than half dressed, gyrating your body all over for strangers all over the internet. You've traveled to and from for men off of the internet as well but haven't given it a second thought to get to your children. In fact, there's a clip of you responding to someone asking where you would love to go besides Gstrings and you literally said NOWHERE. You only wanted to go to him. Not your children. A man off the internet who made you out to be a fool for weeks. This whole "Chosen" thing is sickening. You couldn't be farther from a true representation of a Christian woman, living for God. Your visions amd prophecies are a complete joke and another manipulation tactic. You try to weaponize religion and what you are truly doing is dancing with the devil. I assure you that God hasn't asked you to lay in the bed and he will deliver life to you on a silver platter. Be for real. Faith without works is dead. You are NOT autistic. You are mental but some school counselor maybe mentioning ASD in a hallway conversation one day is not a diagnosis. It's SICK that you use this fake diagnosis and use all of the "disadvantages" for lack of better word of the disorder to spin your narrative but somehow you didn't get the many, amazing "advantages" of ASD like resilience, brilliance, determination, drive, etc.. those things don't allow you to be a lazy internet panhandler. Nor can you seemingly forget that you have it, and it disappear for days or weeks until you need it again or someone reminds you. Nobody believes that people "gift" you all the things you claim. Clothes, makeup, champagne, meals, etc... we know that is you blowing the money you manipulated off of others. You need to slow it down on the door dash. Not only is it a slap in the face to the people out here busting their ass to make ends meet while you are living a life of luxury while not moving a muscle but it's very unhealthy and sticking with you. Lastly, I want you to picture yourself in 10, 15, 20 years from now. You have ZERO true life relationships, absolutely nothing to your name. You won't be able to still panhandle, your years of horrible self care and wild lifestyle dragging you down physically, how will you survive? You've put nothing in to any type of retirement, one day you truly won't be able to work, nobody to care for you, just an elderly person with NOTHING. What will you do?? You have burned all bridges. Your family is amazing and you have completely shit on them. Still claiming a little boy who was a quarter of your size physically abused you and everyone in your family harmed you in some way which is such a stretch and in my mind, unforgivable. You will be lonely, broke, and absolutely no legacy to leave behind. Who will be able to stand up and speak about your life and memories or experiences or impacts you've made and left behind?? Nobody. Time is running out. You need to make DRASTIC changes immediately or it's only down hill from here. I know this was insanely long but I had to get it off of my chest after her entire morning of lies and garbage. I truly hope you have read this Tabitha and it helps you understand why you are so disliked by the Majority. Look around. If not for sleepy Amy Lou, you would literally have ZERO support any longer.

Have you dreamed of doing beautiful Spencerian and Copperplate flex writing in a modern, high ink volume, easy to clean pen?
Now you can with this stunning vintage Eversharp Skyline Spencerian modified (flex & needlepoint) 14k gold nib with ebonite feed fountain pen.
The vintage gold nib was modified to Spencerian by Greg Miniskin and the modern Jowo nib unit with ebonite feed is from FPnibs.com.
The nib and ebonite feed are in a screw-in jowo 5 nib unit for easy cleaning and even nib changes to a different pen.
I combined the Spencerian 14k nib, ebonite feed, and jowo 5 screw in nib unit into an excellent frankenpen using an Opus 88 Halo pen with large ink volume and valve to control ink flow.
This nib unit feels like a dip pen, with great springback and softness.
Without pressure it writes an EEF (about 0.2 mm depending on ink & paper.) So perfect for hairline flourishes.
With moderate pressure it flexes to 1.5, Wider flex up to 2.0mm is possible but must be done slowly to prevent railroading.
This also includes the entire Opus 88 Halo pen: original box and papers, stock Extra Fine nib unit, as well as the Spencerian modified nib.
Condition of Spencerian nib unit is aesthetically B+ due to slight ink staining near the base of the nib. I think it can probably be washed off but I haven’t tried.
Condition of modern Opus 88 pen is B/C due to some rust on the underside of the clip of the cap, that can probably be buffed out but I haven’t tried. The last 2 pics are of the clip.
Due to modifications, overall condition is technically D.
Price: $300 including shipping CONUS
I do love the pen’s beauty, I’m only selling to fund my addictions to art supplies.

2024.05.14 01:03 __kaleidoscope $2500 Budget for my first gaming/streaming PC

1. What will you be doing with this PC? Be as specific as possible, and include specific games (ex: resolution, FPS, settings) or programs you will be using.
I primarily use my PC for:
I'll usually have my web browser and a Discord call in the background.
I stream either games or art 5-7 days/week. An average stream is about 4-6 hours, but it can go up to 12 hours per session for several weeks. Otherwise I work on art commissions and editing.
Currently, FFXIV sits comfortably around 144 FPS on low settings, and most games run fine at 60+ FPS on medium. So I'd like to keep it about the same, if not better. I have no interest in running games at high/maximum settings, but if the PC can do that, then cool 👍
2. What is your maximum PRE-TAX budget before rebates and shipping?
$2500. I don't mind going over if the price is right, but no more than $3000 please.
3. When do you plan on building/buying the PC? Note: beyond a week or two from today means any build you receive will be out of date when you want to buy.
Within the next 1-2 weeks.
4. What, exactly, do you need included in the budget? (ex: toweOS/monitokeyboard/mouse/etc)
Tower & OS.
5. If reusing any parts (including monitor(s)/keyboard/mouse/etc), what parts will you be reusing? How old are they? Brands and models are appreciated.
6. Will you be overclocking (ex: CPU/GPU/RAM)? If yes, are you interested in overclocking right away, or down the line?
Not at all.
7. Are there any specific features or items you want/need in the build? (ex: SSD, Wi-Fi/Bluetooth, VR, VirtualLink, tensor cores, large amount of storage or a RAID setup, CUDA or OpenCL support, etc)
8. Do you have any specific case preferences (ex: mITX/mATX/mid-towefull-tower sizes, styles, colours, window or not, LED lighting, etc.), or a particular color theme preference for the components?
No preference, as long as cable management is happy. White would be cool, but whatever is fine. I'll probably put the tower either under my standing desk (>26") or beside it, so no preference on height.
9. Do you need a copy of Windows included in the budget? Note: some post-secondary students can get Windows 10 for free.
Yes. 64-bit
10. Will you be upgrading this PC in the future (ie: will you swap out better parts later on or will you build an entirely new tower later)? If so, when?
If the computer can last at least 6 years without upgrading, that would be solid. Ideally I'd just swap parts, but if the build works, I'll probably gift and/or build another one for my family in the future.
11. Do you have a brand preference? (ex: AMD/Intel for CPUs, AMD/NVIDIA for video cards, etc)
I stream on Twitch with OBS, so I'd like to try NVIDIA if possible. But honestly, if it performs well, I'll take it.
12. What are the specs of your old PC / laptop? Do you want to see if it can be upgraded instead? If so, paste its build from PCPartPicker here.
(2021) Lenovo Legion 5 15ACH6A: AMD Ryzen 5 5600H, AMD Radeon RX 6600M 8GB, 512GB SSD
13. Extra info or particulars:
I'll be giving my current laptop to my dad! I'm mostly happy with it, but I want to upgrade to a PC after using laptops for over a decade lol.
One issue I have currently: Regardless if I stream online or record offline, sometimes the audio is distorted for a few seconds (however, there are no issues with hearing my microphone nor frame dropping). I've never encountered this issue with my older PC (~2015) or when I was using my previous mic (now broken).
I suspect my issues stem from a combination of stream bitrate, too many active USB ports/externals, microphone, or just plain user error. I don't think the issue is related to AMD or sound bitrate necessarily, since the laptop had no issues with streaming in the first few years. But honestly, I don't know, my friends don't know either, and I'm too afraid to change anything more lmao.
I have plans to replace my keyboard, don't worry 🥲 I've gotten many recommendations lmao.
I have no experience with building PCs or comparing parts, so I'd appreciate any advice! One of my friends offered to help build the PC, and I'll be looking up guides too 👍

Would my webtoon possibly appear as sloppy/unprofessional/etc if I don't do 'proper' lineart?
Hello everyone,
I am an artist and writer in the process of creating a webtoon. I hoped I could get a few opinions here about my lineart and it's quality, and if it takes away the visual appeal if I keep it rough.
Lineart is, quite simply put, the nemisis of my whole existence. I am about the slowest person on earth with it, even if I try to hurry, it makes my already hurt hand hurt even more, and on top of all that, I've recently developed a tremor in my hand because of health stuff that turns my lineart into the kind of cardiogram I'd have at the mere thought of drawing one straight line. Even simple lineart is just that hard to do, especially when I have a semi-clean sketch already that will always look better if I don't put in unreasonable amounts of time into the lineart.
Fine and thin lineart looks very beautiful in my eyes, but there is a point in quality were I just can't keep up in speed and health, even when using vector layers and other tricks. And art wise, for anything other than webtoons, I never even did any lineart to begin with, but instead just always cleaned up my sketch, so I'm more used to making something look nice after, and less trained in being quick and steady with lineart. The stabilization that Procreate has would help immensely (because Clip Studio's barely does anything for my trembling, poor hand), but it's such a process switching back and forth without even having any vector layers in Procreate that I'd only consider it if quality-wise, it'd bring up my comic to another level.
So, here are some examples of stuff I tried out so far.
The first two have just my sketches as the linework. I accidentally merged the lineart and color layer somewhere along the way for the first one, so I couldn't really clean up the hair and irises/eyes much, or refine the lighting further, but opinion on it would still be cool. The second one, however, would probably be the amount of clean-up I'd do for my sketch, just that I'd use the first oen instead (plus, I properly did the lighting there already). The last one has full, clean lineart, vector layers and all, of the level I'd wish to have in my webtoon if it weren't for the issues above (the head is sadly missing because it's a spoiler, but the face looks just as clean and has a detailled face that gives it that 'special occasion' shot feel). The lineart took so much time however and eventually started to hurt my hand that i didn't even attempt to put in the many intricate details of the belt I had initially planned. All three of them are not completely finished panels in general yet, so further refinement in lighting and shadow will still be added.
Still, how noticeable is the downgrade in line quality for the overall aesthetics? Would the extra time and effort for the clean lineart be worth it in direct comparison, even if just for the important panels (which I think i could manage at least)? Or would changing up line quality in the middle of work ruin the immersion? (Which is the feeling I get seeing clean lineart like the third picture suddenly appear among the messier ones)
I'd be happy to hear a few opinions about what you think, how it looks to you, and so on:) Constructive criticism is appreciated, as well as any tips that could help with my problem, even on something different than lineart itself if stands out to any of you (for example, I struggle with making a face look the same over and over). Usually, I'm all for drawing however I want, but I have noticed that especially clean lineart is an 'almost always there standard' I see through Orignals and Canvas both. Maybe my standards for my own art are just too high (I'm just a lone artist after all), but I'd honesty be pretty sad if something I pour my whole heart into comes off as lazy or sloppy just because of a thing I struggle with going against one of the more common industry standard's grain. Thank you for reading all this already (I know I write a little too much, whoops), and I wish a good day or night:)

2024.05.14 00:07 HannahOwO88 Good laptops for light gaming and animation+programming?

Hello! I’m currently trying to find a good laptop for my needs, but I don’t know anything about specs or processors or all that. Figured this would be as good a place as any to ask?
What I need it to run: -Unity and general 3d modeling/animation tools -Art programs (clip studio paint or photoshop) -Minecraft, Terraria, and similarly sized games (not fps or ultra-high graphics, likely no shaders)
Long start is okay, though I’m looking to avoid stuttering, freezing or general lag caused from the system itself.
My budget is around 1500$ USD, though can be pushed to around 2k if need be
Sorry if this is a dumb question! My only experience with laptops has been a shitty school Chromebook, so I’m really uneducated with this 💔

NEW CONTENT/FEATURES Added flight plan assistance setting for ATC in the user experience assistance settings so that users can request the ATC to favor their flight plan or world map flight settings over the current conditions. This assistance is set to “Active” by default. Active: ATC will set the active runway and approach for the departure and arrival airport based on the users flight plan or settings in the world map. Deactivated: ATC will set the active runway and approach based on current conditions only. ATC now clears a step to the next altitude some time before arriving at the previously cleared altitude, rather than once arrived at the previously cleared altitude. (Next step is issued when at 2000FT from cleared altitude rather than 250FT from cleared altitude). ATC Vectoring bug fixes: Now assigning the correct clearance when the first two waypoints were one over the other, Now assigning a new vector & clearance every time the user asks the ATC for a new vector. Added completely new Cirrus SR22T G6 model with custom engine simulation, book-accurate performance, and extensive Perspective Plus NXi features.
