Iâm really excited to share a project Iâve been working on called Flight of the Maganauts, a satirical musical. This show takes Americaâs most controversial ideologies and launches them into space for (what I think is) a hilarious and chaotic ride.
Synopsis: Theyâve been cancelled on Earth, but they wonât be erased. Join the MAGANAUTS on an intergalactic musical adventure as Americaâs worst ideas are taken to space. Characters include an antisocial incel bunkmate, a murderous Christian fundamentalist housewife, an aggressive January 6 shaman, and a corrupt, free-market-obsessed captain.
What I'm Looking For: Iâm seeking feedback on the script, characters, and songs. Any thoughts or suggestions to make this project better would be amazing!

Someone in a thread here mentioned Zybourne Clockâthat game pitch on the SomethingAwful Forums that was just a bunch of badly-drawn concept art and way-too-ambitious, unconnected plot beatsâand it gave me a brain blast thinking about all the little forum start-ups I've seen in my time, posted by excited kids who love drawing their OCs and imagining cool fight scenes, but don't actually know anything about game design or roadmapping a project.
I'm a big fan of the animatostreamer Khonjin, and one of his big, lifelong projects is the realization of a story called "Supermental," first seen in a now-deleted forum thread (I forget the name of the site, was one of those small-batch Jcink forums) where the idea was first pitched as a game that would be enormous in scope, an epic story, and combine "eight genres of gameplay in one game, including rhythm, RPG, fighting game mechanics, platforming, and more." That the thread was so old when I discovered it and everyone in it had likely been kids when it had been made told me that this incarnation of the game would likely never exist in any form, and the sheer scope and size of the game projected with nothing to show for it but pages of character desisgns and a single GIF of a platforming segment made in Game Maker was one of those really incredible high water marks left by the boundless ambition of youth.
At the time, Khonjin's primary work of note, the animated web series Khonjin House had concluded with a severe escalation in stakes and a direct lead-in to a new animated web series called Supermental, along with an accompanying ARG, so everyone who was invested was scrambling for clues across his entire history on the internet. We were also trying to figure out what Supermental was going to be about. Not even the the original game dev thread had any answers as to what the plot actually was. The discovery that the projected main protagonist of that old game idea, Jack, was the prototype for Jack Pent, the main antagonist of Khonjin House, definitely seemed to indicate some kind of relevancy, though.
Khonjin House had been full of little, unexplained names and references that were definitely going to be important to Supermental, and the fan speculation leading up to the little bits of reveal we got in the series proper was some of my personal favorite fandom activity I've ever participated in. Finding out who Smack wasâa character who was often mentioned by name in the series but never seenâand then finding out that he and Pent hate each others' guts and have been trying to kill each other, AND THEN finding out Supermental was going to be prequel and that they used to be best friends was an incredible wave to be on.
And then we got the announcement: the Supermental animated series on YouTube was just to get the fans hyped up for the Kickstarter for the Supermental game, revived after all these years!
Unfortunately, it was too good to be true. The Kickstarter had an intriguing animated trailer, but no gameplay. Not even a mention of what gameplay would be like. We did get an update later on, showing it would be a SRB2-like 3D platformer with 2D sprite characters, but by then, the momentum had been lost. I donated to the Kickstarter, as did several fans, but we never reached funding and the project was canned.
All that was left was the ARG, which was still ongoing and was supposed to reveal what Supermental was actually about once it was solved. Unfortunately, the last shot in the foot for the whole thing came when Khonjin lost patience with everyone for taking too long to solve the clues and just lore-dumped the whole thing.
The plot of the game ended up being a super personal extended metaphor for gender dysphoria and transitioning, inspired by the struggles of a close trans friend of Khonjin's who had died. It felt like a story he had really wanted to get out into the world at all costs, for many, many years by then, ultimately resigning to a bitter, 2 a.m. paragraphs-long lore dump in a Discord channel. The mystery was over. I still have no idea how that would have translated to a platformer game, but heyâSuper Paper Mario did alright, so who knows.
I still think about that a lot. Supermental for me is the reigning king of that sort of incredibly ambitious creative project you undertake with your friends when you're young, firing off aimlessly in any direction, struggling to be born, picking up more meaning and consuming other ideas as you grow alongside it. It's been a minute since I checked in on the status of anything related to it, and since Khonjinâto my knowledgeâhas uploaded or said anything pertaining to it, but I would like to see it realized in some form one day.
So, what are some of your favorite stories of stillborn projects? This isn't about Scalebound or shit like that. I want stories of game projects you discovered in forums when you were in high school that had tons character art but no one on the team who knew how to program. Kickstarters you were interested in but knew had no chance in Hell of clearing even a fourth of their funding goal because they didn't have a single screenshot of in-engine visuals on the page. Even other well-known failure stories are welcome here; I'm interested in learning about more infamous failures like Zybourne Clock as well, things y'all might no about, but that escaped my radar. Doesn't have to be games either; movies, animations, 'zines, comics... anything.

Yâall - I have been watching this show called UnReal (free on Tubi if you want to check it out). Itâs a scripted show about a reality tv show production except more like the bachelor than a VPhousewives type of show. Anywho - it is crazy to see what the BTS of a reality tv production might look like. It has given me a new prospective on everything.
In the show Iâm watching, producers are assigned to specific cast members and are incentivized with bonuses to manipulate the cast to act in whichever way makes better tv. They are meant to connect with cast, have them trust them, learn their insecurities/deepest darkest fears, and use that against them, while seemingly (to the cast) making it that production is looking out for them and has good intentions đ this relates to something Stassi said recently in the podcast talking about Taylor swifts new album. She says that then when she turned into this bad person they wanted her to become, she was kicked to the curb. Now, Stassi started this show as an adult, and ultimately, how she acts in any given situation is totally up to her. But in this show Iâm watching, the lengths they will go to get âgood tvâ is bonkers. Total disregard to the person who has been manipulated into a character that is entertaining to watch. It is an abusive relationship I can only imagine messes people up for awhile. (this does not excuse Stassiâs awful and racist behavior, just her account of what it was like to be on VPR)
Something else that felt scary similar to this show and something Andy Cohen has said regarding the reality reckoning. In UnReal, the main character of the show is a producer lady who goes back and forth on loving the job/adrenaline and hating herself and hating hurting others. At one point, she claims that her job is about helping people. When asked who it is she helps, she says the X amount of people who watch this show is who she is helping. That basically ruining the lives of a small number of people for the greater sake of entertaining the audience (us) is worth it. When AC was asked about the reality reckoning of it all back when it first happened (Oct/Nov 2023), this was his response (source: https://www.etonline.com/andy-cohen-reacts-to-reality-tv-reckoning-amid-bravocon-exclusive-214199?amp) "You know what I'm doing, I am focusing on the joy that these shows bring people and everyone here is so happy and they're happy to embrace our 170 Bravo-lebrities that are here, that are happy to be here and embrace the shows themselves, So, that's really where I'm at. Hello, I am a student currently living in America who is from South Korea. I listen to kpop and like the artists. Recently, I know there is HYBE vs. MHJ issue. As a person that is more fluent in Korean and understand all the news that is coming from Koreaâs social media, I am getting really frustrated reading reddit and seeing Americanâs reactions. I am trying to translate and explain all the rumors and misunderstandings due to the language difference. My translation might not be the best and will include what the google says, but I hope this help all of you understand the situation a little better and why Korean (not just tokkis, most of koreans) are on MHJ and NewJeansâ side.
I honestly am expecting lots of comments going against my translation because this would be whole different thing that what you guys are seeing, but I believe that the deeper research is VERY NEEDED in this case right now. Peopleâs voice matters, and I am trying to inform what Koreans are thinking. Please view this post in the middle rather than sided to either HYBE or MHJ.

New Killer - The LichKiller PowerBound with the skin and flesh of men, the Book is packed with spells both forbidden and wicked. To select a Spell, hold the Ability Button to open the Spell selection. The Lich has access to 4 different Spells:
Treasure Chests found around the map can contain Magic Items. Each Survivor can equip up to two Magic Items at once: one pair of Boots and one pair of Gauntlets. These Magic Items are each connected to a specific Spell, and activate when The Lich casts that spell.
Rarely, Survivors can instead find the Hand or Eye of Vecna in a Treasure Chest. When picked up and used, Survivors gain a special ability while at full health. Using one of these special abilities costs the Survivor a health state and reveals their location with Killer Instinct for 3 seconds.

Last week I got a blood test requested by my psychiatrist to check my levels for FSH, luteinizing hormone, free t3 and t4. I called her saying I got the results back and she immediately diagnosed me with PCOS and Grave's Disease. My levels were:
FSH: 2.1 (ovulating) LH: 3.7 T3: 4.88 (it says it was high) T4: 1.27
I know this subreddit does not have medical professionals but I can't be the only one weirded out right? My psych also said don't go to an endocrynologist because they "dont understand pcos". I understand that she also has it.
My sibling was diagnosed when she was young, and I don't display any of the symptoms she has. I have regular periods, I don't grow much facial hair besides the occasional single long chin hair. My periods are also not very painful, I get normal cramps, uncomfortable but I'm still functioning, and my libido isnt really super high or super low either. My weight is a bit high, but that was due to a previous psych doctor prescribing antidepressants/antipsychotics/sedatives that made me eat too much + gave me insulin resistance and slow metabolism.
My sibling suggested to just go to an endocrynologist + gyn to recieve further testing to really be sure, because one test for LH and FSH doesn't seem to be damning evidence to me. Is this correct or am I just wrong?

2024.05.14 18:54 Unintended-Fed I66 Non HOV Lanes?
I am driving into DC tomorrow morning around 8am and was planning on going down route 7 to falls church and jumping on 66.
Someone said not to do it because the toll will be like $30 one way. I went online and that does seem possible, but this is only for the HOV lanes right? Which wouldnât be me, Iâll be alone in the car.
Is it still free if I avoid the HOV lane? Or this isnât possible? If not maybe Iâll do George Washington Parkway or something.

Good afternoon/morning/evening to everyone,
I just started this game a couple of days ago, never really messed with fallout before with my only real experience having been watching my little player do crazy stuff in Fallout 3, new Vegas, and 4. Iâve always been more of an Elder Scrolls guy over fallout, but decided to give this game a go since itâs been in my library for years collecting dust and I have nothing to really do during free time until Dawntrail releases, and Hoo boy Iâm actually surprised I never tried getting into this stuff sooner! Itâs been a ton of fun so far.
I have a character at level 20 ish somewhere, but felt like I was going through things too fast and not really taking the moment to slow down and experience the world around my character, so Iâve made a new one, heâs level 4 last I checked. I think my current goal is to figure out what sort of build I wanna go for and unfortunately I am horribly indecisive when it comes to these things, so Iâve come making my first post here to ask for help.
To give an idea of what I generally go for: - in Skyrim I generally go for a basic one handed sword weapon, with the occasional magic in the other hand. I like being able to mix the different styles occasionally but Iâm unsure how well that would go in a game like this as Iâve heard focusing on a specific build would be more beneficial in the long run. - Sniper rifles are an absolute no go. I donât care for them and donât think I ever will. - Shotguns and pistols are a maybe. - I donât like bows, I tried messing with crossbows and theyâre not horrible? I think theyâre cool, but the slow reload leaves me open for melee abuse, which ideally I could swap to a melee weapon which would work in favor of a hybrid range/melee build but Iâm still on the fence of that idea. - Automatic and semi automatic rifles ainât half bad.

- overall I just want a sort of build where I can be beeg, beefy, and ready to cream people up.

So I felt like sharing my story here, iâve been lurking for a while. Im 28, pretty good job and awesome wife.
I wouldnât call myself a hardcore gamer, but easily 2/3 hours a day in CoD, GTA, helldivers 2 etc. I started skipping the gym since feb 2024, all tho i went 5x per week normally.
Last week I decided to quit because I turn into a shit version of myself. Normally, iâm not the one to get angry, and I work in a competitive sales environment haha. But damn did i smash controllersâŚ
I also figured out I force myself to enjoy it. I bought Helldivers 2 and played the **** out of it, telling myself I enjoy it. Iâve grinded GTA online, told myself that was awesome. But man it made me sad in hindsight.
I sold my PS5 last week and since itâs no longer here, thereâs no urge to play. I didnât buy something and had to force myself to enjoy it.
So if you read this and youâre on the edge about pulling the trigger. Just do it. Life getâs better and youâll be stress free. (From gaming atleast)

Hello guys i bought Ghost Of Tsushima DIRECTOR CUT on STEAM on Apr and the game is about to release on steam tmr which right now i just checked in my steam library and Ghost Of Tsushima was gone from my library which led me to check in Steam store page of the and it says now it requires PSN acc in order to play the game which the PSN doesnt have Cambodia region to begin creating an acc for the game and i dun want to use VPN to swap region just to play the game because i have seen some cmt people saying that if we be using VPN to play PS game online the PSN gonna detect us as cyber threat or something like that and it can gets us banned from PSN so that being said that i cannot play the game i bought it legally. Is anybody facing this headache too and have some sort of way to figure out in order to play it plz let me know too cuz im kinda desperated to play the game for a quite long time now ngl.

My cat - 8y Maine Coon Mix - has been free fed kibble with wet food breakfast for years.
He does a really good job of limiting himself on the dry food. He is a fantastic drinker (I know I clean the litterbox). Because he is getting a little older, and he has always had bad teeth (yes I brush his teeth), I've been looking for a new kibble. I've asked his vet, online vet services, watched youtube videos, read reddit posts, watched tiktoks etc and everyone just talks about how cats need wet food.
The only advice I've been seeing is to take away the dry food completely and give him a second helping of wet food. This would be incredibly hard on my schedule. I work 80+ hours a week. I feel like I'm being a bad pet owner. I just want to make sure he stays healthy for as long as possible. It is common to feed dry and wet food? If so, what brands can you recommend?

Hi friends, We recently started writing about Danish idioms on our newsletter the Simple Danish Newsletter - I also started posting them here on Reddit, but I have not been great at keeping up, and so now I am 12 weeks behind here on Reddit, and rather than space out 12 different posts, I thought I would do one big post and hopefully get back on track with the postings đ
So hereâs a bunch of Danish idioms for you!
At have det som blommen i et ĂŚg
Litterally; to feel like the yolk in an egg. I like this idiom a lot because of how visual it is. It means that you feel good, you feel comfortable, protected, and in the right place.
For example:
A: Se de søde killinger der sover.
B: Ă ĂĽrh, de har sikkert som blommen i et ĂŚg.
En heldig kartoffel
Literally, a lucky potato. If someone is especially lucky, in Danish ,you can call them a lucky potato. As far as I can read, the expression comes from an old sailors game, where you would pass a potato around in a circle, and a person in the middle would try to catch it. If the person in the middle could not catch the potato, it was said to be a lucky potato.
For example: A: Jeg har fri pĂĽ fredag, sĂĽ jeg kan nyde det gode vejr.
B: Din heldige kartoffel.
A: Har du hørt at Jonas har vundet i lotto? B: Sikke en heldig kartoffel!
En varm kartoffel
Something can also be a hot potato. It is the same expression as in english, where an issue can be a hot potato. Something so hot that it is painful to touch, and so something you would want to avoid. This expression is less used in Denmark, and mostly by newspapers or the older generations.
Lokummet brĂŚnder
Litterally: The toilet is on fire.
Either you are in big trouble or you are about to be in big trouble when your toilet is on fire.
Lokum in Danish used to refer to the old shed behind the house, where hole-in-the-ground-with-seat type toilets with no running water were found. Nowadays the word can also refer, with some disgust, to normal toilets.
For example:
Litterally translating to; then the goat is shaved. Means that something is done or solved. You can use it if you got an annoying task out of the way, either by avoiding the task entirely (and then ironically using sĂĽ er den ged barberet to humorously say that it was easy), or by actually finishing it.
Example 1: Jeg skal lige fÌrdiggøre den sidste del af prÌsentationen, og sü er den ged barberet.
Example 2: FCK scorede et hurtigt mül mod Brøndby, og sü var den ged barberet.
Hvor kragerne vender
Where the crows turn around is used to to mean the same as in the middle of nowhere, although I like the illustrativeness of the Danish phrase much more than in the middle of nowhere. It means somewhere so far away, that even the crows donât dare go there. You can for example say; Rasmus er vokset op pĂĽ landet. Der hvor kragerne vender. Or if someone asks you what you did this weekend, you can say: jeg var ude at gĂĽ en tur, helt derude hvor kragerne vender. Or if people ask you where you are from: jeg er fra en lille by ude hvor kragerne vender.
Den der kommer først til mølle, für først malet
Litterally; The one who arrives first at the mill will get milled first. This is pretty much the the Danish equivalent of first come, first serve, mixed with a bit of the early bird gets the worm. However in everyday life, you pretty much only hear the first part; først til mølle or you might see something like; âefter først til mølle principâ which was recently added to the Danish dictionary. You might see the phrase if you are looking at items being given away for free or being sold online. I can definitely see how the isolated phrase can confuse new learners though: âSelling sneakers. First to the mill.â

At spille kong gulerod, to play king-carrot. You can use this expression if someone is acting arrogant, cocky, or superior in a pretentious way. You can for example say du skal ikke komme her og spille kong gulerod if someone is being pompous around you. The phrase apparently comes from an old french, satirical opera from 1872, where vegetables from the garden take control over France. Or so Iâve heard. Donât cite me on that.
At købe katten i sÌkken
Literally meaning to buy the cat in the sack. To buy the cat in the sack, means you got cheated in a trade, or that you were not diligent enough when checking what you were buying and got something not worth a lot. You can change the person or the idiom in the idiom as in jeg har købt katten i sĂŚkken meaning you already made the bad deal, or you can say hun køber katten i sĂŚkken in the 3rd person future tense if someone is going to make a bad decision. You can use it as a warning to someone Pas pĂĽ du ikke køber katten i sĂŚkken if you think thereâs a risk they will not make a good choice later.
At gü som katten om den varme grød
Litterally; to walk like the cat around the hot porridge. We use this idiom when someone hesitates to speak directly about a sensitive subject, when they skirt around the issue. I imagine a cat, interested in eating a nice bowl of hot porridge, but the cat is hesitant because it is afraid of burning its tongue.
Example: I forbindelse med spørgsmület om klimaforandringer, gik politikerne som katten om den varme grød.
at skyde papegøjen
To shoot the parrot, or to have shot the parrot, means to be very lucky. It can also mean to have gotten hold of a very valuable object or person. It is in a sensee the opposite of having bought the cat in the sack. Hereâs a few examples:
Rasmus har skudt papegøjen med hende Antonina. Hun er godt nok sød. Jeg har skudt papegøjen her I weekenden pü loppemarkedet.
Det med smĂĽt
âthat with small/littleâ or more legibly: the fine print.
Har du lĂŚst det med smĂĽt? Did you read the fine print? You will often see this when websites are trying to be transparent or quirky about their terms and conditions. So you might encounter a link or a website titled âdet med smĂĽtâ if you are trying to buy something.
