Can someone give advice of how to impreve depression?

2024.04.17 08:22 SnailFollower1945 Can someone give advice of how to impreve depression?

DISCLAIMER(if the caligraphy of the text is weird or bad written it´s because i´m not a native english speaker, sorry for any incovenience it could generate)
I just simply doesn´t found life worth it anymore, the only thing stopping me from suicide is the tought of my family, but i feel narcissist when i think their life would be like "the end" without me, i just don´t want to be an useless son. My own problems consumate me.
I hate myself everyday thinking about that i am the shadow of who i was supposed to be, of how good i could be at high school for example, if i were more happier, i feel like im losing my youth by being like this.
If you guys can give me some advice, thanks, sorry if this was pretty short or not very specific, i sincerly don´t know exactly what to write, i only ask for advice; sorry for any inconvenience.
EDIT: the title should say "improve", not "impreve".

-Lord Alton Darklyn, Father, b. 148 AC

-Brandon Darklyn, Uncle, b. 150 AC, d. 194 A.C

-Leyla Darklyn, Sister, b. 180
Dead Kinsman: Ser Brandon Darklyn
Alternate Characters: Janei Lefford
NPCs:
Septa Jennelyn: Scholar
Amerei Darklyn: Subtle
Biography:
House Darklyn emerged from the First Dance embittered and scarred. The fall of the Blacks saw them go from honoured counselors to pariahs of the court. While eventually accepted back into the fold, three generations of lords kept old resentments alive. When Lord Alton inherited Duskendale, he turned an attentive ear to whispers from the east. Ever mindful of the looming threat of King's Landing and the destruction they could wreak upon his house within a day of uncovering his true allegiance, Alton had to be subtle, allowing the spies of the Blacks safe passage through his port. As King Vamond's fervour for proselytizing the faith began to destabilize the realm, Alton dreamed of a chance to revitalize Duskendale upon the return of the rightful king, perhaps even attaining a city charter of his own. This quiet ambition was his main lesson to his daughter Margaret. From her early childhood a demure exterior masked a keen eye for opportunity. Growing up in Duskendale she found that the twon still abounded with hushed tales of the horrors of the sack a man's age later. In the crownlands it was not unusual to see spot the silhouette of dragons in the sky every now and then, a constant reminder of the doom awaiting any who harboured disloyal notions.
Margaret's mother, Lady Jennelyn, was none too fond of her husband's ambitions, hoping to channel her daughter's pursuits into practical knowledge instead of cynical manipulation. A learned woman, she gave Margaret an education in alchemy and the healing arts. More than anything she sought to convey the connection between natural and divine law in hopes of rendering notions of rebellion or conspiracy inconcievable. Margaret was not convinced, seeing the failings of the greens as an indication of the justice of her father's cause. For Lady Jennelyn, the point of no return would be when her husband allowed his daughter to attend his meeting with a spy of the Blacks the year she came of age. Unwilling to betray her family and leave them at the mercy of the king's justice, Lady Jennelyn asked to be allowed no more part in their ambition and to take holy vows. Marriage had made her one flesh and soul with Alton, shouldering her with a guilt she refused to accept. Though hearbroken, Alton dared not risk his designs and agreed. Jennelyn renounced the secular world and joined The Faith. Opposition to Lord Alton's schemes did not end with her departure. His younger brother, Ser Brandon, viewed support for the blacks as a sentence to repeat the sorrows of the past. Having no children of his own, he was close with his nieces and continued Lady Jennelyn's attempts to steer Margaret towards loyalty to the crown. In the end, he too would fail. Margaret was present when her father promised his support for the return of the Blacks, one cloudy night at the tail end of the year 191 AC.
On the eve of war however, Lord Alton was wracked with second thoughts, renegeing on his promises. When confronted by Daemon's spies, demanding explanations, he did his best to placate them with vague promises that Darklyn forces would soon turn on the Loyalists. In the end such support would not materialize until the battle of the Embers. Ser Brandon obeyed his brother's final decision on the matter and reluctantly turned banners to the Blacks, falling for a cause he did not believe in during the battle. The tardiness and reluctance of Darklyn support dashed all of Lord Alton's hopes of being rewarded. Instead he narrowly escaped King's Landing with his head and lands intact, only through the intercession of Baelon Glass to mitigate Daemon's ire. He has not shown his face in the capital since. Margaret was left disenchanted with her father's ideals and mourning her lost uncle, but had little choice but to try and pick up the pieces of Duskendale's shattered dreams. Remaining at Duskendale during the war, she arrived at court after Alton 'the apprehensive' became an unwelcome presence. The fall of Targaryen rule in Lys sent many of their wealthy supporters fleeing across the sea, some even attaining the kind of office of distinction Alton had once hoped to gain during the war. These are the ones whose favour Margaret must now court in the hopes of attaining new trade connections and friends in high places. Living in the city has also inadvertently re-united her with her mother, now a septa serving at the Grand Sept.
Auxiliary Character: Lord Alton Darklyn
Age: 47
Appearance:
Gifts: Thrifty
Skills: Subterfuge, Fortifier, Shipwright
Talents: Hunting, Hawking, Board Games
Starting Title: Lord of Duskendale
Biography:
Though he never knew his Grandfather, the murder of Lord Gunthor Darklyn by the forces of Aegon II cast a shadow over Alton's entire upbringing. His own father had been a boy when Duskendale was sacked. The memory he passed onto his son, of charred buildings and heads on pikes lived vividly in Alton's dreams for years to come. On some level he was always driven by a desire for revenge against the greens and the pride of place the Darklyns had once been afforded. He raised his daughters similarly, never to forget or forgive. Only when his wife, Lady Jennelyn Bywater turned away from him, unwilling to accept the consequences of their marital vows which made her accessory to his conspiracies, did Alton's resolve begin to waver. By the time he swore support for the Blacks in late 191, he was becoming more and more fearful of losing what he had left than embittered over what had been taken from him before his time. His brother disparaged him to the last, first for his conspiracies, then for breaking even the vows he had made in treason. Once he hoped for a place on the king's council. Now Alton hopes for nothing more than staying out of the King's thoughts as often as possible. What sustains him now is the aim of bolstering and protecting what remains, so that his daughters do not suffer too much for his mistakes.

2021.01.02 23:42 Sagelegend Fan theory: Mr. Miyagi is actually a descendant of Ryukyu nobility. [Spoiler]

With Daniel’s trip to Okinawa, I felt the need to share my post from Fantheories
Before Okinawa was so named, it was called Ryukyu, which was its own kingdom, and very different to mainland Japan, with even its palace being more similar in style, to those found in China.
The reason for this, is the people of Ryukyu loved all things Chinese, including caligraphy, literature, Confucianism, and martial arts.
While there is the persisting myth of Karate being the creation of oppressed Okinawan farmers, it was actually the nobility who were the only ones who could train, as the average peasant had to work far too many hours to train. A farmer in Ryukyu had to work about 18 hours a day just to afford basic needs and taxes.
Things changed when the Ryukyu kingdom fell in 1879, during the Meiji era, and made Ryukyu the Okinawa prefecture. It was at this time when about 2000 aristocratic families and about 300 lords, were all kicked out of their fancy homes, and forced to live as commoners.
As the average former noble had no transferable skills for labour, many of them became martial arts instructors.
Mr. Miyagi said the karate of his family came from China, after an ancestor of his fell asleep while fishing. In his ancestral home, there are pictures of other karate masters, all of whom Miyagi is descended from. As the number of generations would easily go well before 1879, this means Miyagi karate greatly pre-dates the Meiji era, when Okinawa, then called Ryukyu, only had martial artists who were nobility, and could afford to train, as they didn't need to work as much.
Because of this, I think Mr. Miyagi's ancestors were actually Ryukyu nobles.
Shimpo was a fisherman because he loved to fish, not because he had to fish. When he returned to Okinawa (then Ryukyu), he would have brought his wife and family to a noble’s house. The home shown in KK2 would have been where Miyagi’s ancestors moved to, during the events of 1879.
Chozen queried Daniel about his knowledge of Shimpo, as if he wanted to see if Daniel really knew the truth of Shimpo. At least that is how I saw it.
Whether the writers use this element of Okinawa’s real life history in Cobra Kai, remains to be seen.

2020.04.28 02:19 RedoLane My own idea for the next reiwa rider: Kamen Rider Trace

Kamen Rider Trace will have the theme of art and caligraphy.A young man aims to become a famous artist, inspired by the greatest artists in history, such as Leonardo Da Vinci and Vincent Van Gogh. Unfortunately, due to the modern technology taking over with it's accessible features, he failed to be recognized for his art, even being told that his art is old fashioned. One day, when arguing over this whole ordeal with his sister, he learns that she started using a suspicious smartphone app, with the motto: "True beauty awaits in your mind."Later that day, when he tries again to show his art on the main street, he is approached by a woman who actually shows interest in his art.He finds out she tried to bait him through the suspicious app, because she's looking for an artist who can join her agency... but just when he was about to consider, a civilian nearby suddenly transforms into a monster.
That monster is a Scratcher. Scratchers are parasites that are born from people who rejected reality for certain reasons(The person they like doesn't like them back, their business is about to go bankrupt, etc etc), taking over them by either corrupting their mind and putting them under illusions, or by changing their memories.
The young man tries to bring the civilian back to their senses, and that's when the woman see potential in him. She gives him the Trace Driver, a belt with the motif of caligraphy. By inserting the Pen Inkroll, one of the 20 sacred Inkrolls created by the Art Deity, into the Trace Driver, he can transform into Kamen Rider Trace. By writing certain kanji in the air, the word written is materialized as an attack. By writing the kanji for Finish, he'll perform Finish Touch, which is different with each Inkroll. The Pen Inkroll let's him finish with a rider kick, called Sharp Drop.
The main bad guys are a group of artists known as Horizon, who aim to create a new generation of art, by erasing all types of art from existence. That means not only portraits, but also pictures, movies, all kind of media that can be treated as art.
The show will have 3 riders in total, and 2 movie-exclusive riders. It will pay a bit of homage to Hibiki.

2020.02.01 11:53 SonicPileDriver Made a monk with a theme I wanted to share

Gameplay-wise, Azalea is a (V)Human Astral Monk. Her background is a Sailor for proficiency in Athletics and Perception. As a VHuman she gets an extra proficiency, which I put in Performance, and the Prodigy feat for proficiency in Insight, proficiency in the Caligraphy set, Gith language, and expertise in Athletics.
She started life as an orphan who reveled in street fighting. They tried to send her to scribe school but she soon ran away, jumping on a ship to find a better calling. A shipwreck left her stranded on an uncharted island. There, she met an aging Gith woman exile, who took Azalea as an apprentice in an effort to pass on her experience and knowledge. Here, Azalea (Gith name Ezhelya, similar pronunciation) learned a fighting style that allows one to draw power from the Astral Plane.
Azalea's mentor was a member of the Sha'sal Khou, a clandestine Gith organization that strives for unification of the Githyanki and Githzerai. Exposed, she was exiled to a remote island on the material plane, where she would not be able to further meddle in the conflict.
This version of the Way of the Astral Self is based on Gith unity and duality. The fighting style is one that originates from a time when the Gith fought to liberate themselves from the Illithids. It is a martial art developed by Gith who trained in secret to overthrow their captors, and resembles real world Capoeira (which was developed in much the same way).
Azalea's astral arms are tentacles, and astral visage resembles that of a nautilus. Her astral self draws upon both her experience as a sailor and the power that the illithids once held over the astral plane. Her squid-inspired astral arms also connect to her love of Caligraphy (the one good thing to come of her time in scribe school). She collects materials to make new types and colors of ink from everywhere she travels.
The martial art is accompanied by philosophy scriptures. These are written in Gith tir'su, which is text in the form of circular glyphs. Githyanki read them clockwise and Githzerai read them counterclockwise. But the glyphs in the scriptures of this art can read both ways, each with a slightly different meaning, but both just as meaningful. Each glyph acts as a mixture of poem and koan, meant to be visually beautiful as well as philosophically evocative. New contributions to this scripture are expected as one studies the art, as Azalea does.
The circular patterns the body moves in while fighting resemble the circular patterns of the tir'su glyphs. During combat, one will execute moves that use both clockwise and counterclockwise rotations, which generates more strength and power than either set alone. Azalea quickly formed this connection in her training, matching calligraphic brush strokes to the form's sweeping strikes. When she summons her astral arms, her movements also evoke that of an ocean maelstrom as her astral tentacles lash out and sweep about the battlefield. The moves are also effective as a form of dance, which is sometimes put to good use with her Performance proficiency.
When her mentor passed away from old age, Azalea found her way off the island and back into the world. She is now continuing her training alone, while trying to find a place in the world. She is particularly interested in anything that has to do with Gith or Illithids and their potential effects on the world.
When RPing her, I put significant effort into describing the ways she strikes and moves around the battlefield. I thought it might be excessive, but my party seems to appreciate something more than just saying "I punch it!" four times a turn. During downtime I play up her calligraphy hobby. Monks don't usually get much out of town shopping sessions, but I'm always asking about local flowers or other colorful things that might be ink-able.
And that is the backstory of my Wis SAD grapple Monk. Thank you for listening to my TED talk.

2019.11.25 16:46 BaraBlazer [REQUEST]Trying to remember a very specific rpg-puzzle game

There was this Japanese/Chinese developer, which seemed to use msPaint level art, shared across their apps. Their apps are usually classic rpg themed. I remember seeing classes like warrior, priest, red mage, blue mage, and some offshoots like samurai and more(don't remember the rest). Their english translations are very limited to mediocre at best, and I remember that their menus were still in caligraphy (either chinese or japanese. Definitely bot Korean or Arabic)
Now, here's the gameplay of the specific game that I'm looking for In the beginning, you pick 4 classes. You will be presented with a 4 by 4 grid filled from randomized classes of your picked party. The grid is on your left and your enemy party is on the right. Each enemy has its own hp bar and you can choose which one to attack. If you focus down on that enemy, damage won't flow to other enemies even uf you kill them.
You choose a row of 4, column of 4, or diagonal line of 1, 2, 3 or 4 depending on where you start the line. Depending on the combination of classes on that specific line, the actions and effectiveness of your action will change. After chosen, each hero would do their action and be removed from the grid. The grid shifts right and new heroes are generated from the left.
Warrior and samurai hit hard but for solo target. Mages doesn't hit as hard, but can hit all enemies. Priests recover hp.
In the beginning, the bonuses(multipliers) are a pair of 2, group of 3, group of 4, and all different party members which gives 2x, 3x, and iirc 4x for the last 2. The kicker is that each bonus stacks multiplicatively with each other, so a line of 4 warriors would proc many 2x bonuses, a 3x, and a 4x, resulting in something damage numbers in the hundreds
Once you have matched a number of that class, you can unlock a new multiplier. These new multipliers are based on the party classes. So if you had a warrior and priest, you would get a chance to get the warrior and priest combo (which procs if you match a warrior and a priest) and may grant you certain buffs, like block or 2x damage next turn.
After a gameover, you can use colored gems you get from your adventure as well as gold(iirc) to level up your heroes. Levelling up heroes unlocks slots for multipliers, or when levelled enough even increases base damage drom 1 damage into 2... Which with the multipliers basically doubles your damage output.

2018.10.28 21:21 Halcyon1378 Honest opinion between Samsung, Apple, Microsoft Stylus/Pens/Pencils

I own or have owned a Microsoft Surface 3, Pro 3, Pro 4, and Surface Book, and a variety of tablets of older generations over the years (with crap pen options).
I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 8, and as much as I appreciate the responsiveness and relative accuracy of the small pen, I need a scaled up version.
The Microsoft platforms have been relatively lackluster with responsiveness with handwriting, using programs like MetaMoji Note, Onenote, and others.
Inkcredible Pro is unavailable on the Windows platform, but has been nice on the Samsung. Inkcredible Pro is available on the Apple iPad.
This is unfortunately only a portion of why I need the stylus.
One of my kids is getting into digital art, and my experience with Surface/Windows platforms leaves a little bit to be desired.
I am looking at an Apple iPad 2 Pro with Apple Pencil, Surface 5, and Samsung Galaxy Book or Tab 4 Pro.
I tried the Tab 4 Pro pen out and wasn't too impressed, but that's comparing it to the feel of a Surface Pen which is supposed to be equivalent in pressure sensitivity to the Samsung Stylus.
I have read that the Apple Pencil has 1,000,000 levels of pressure sensitivity versus Surface & Galaxy 4000 and those levels of sensitivity are pretty important.
I want one too. I do a massive amount of handwriting, and the digital platform beats the snot out of my prior use of hundreds of sheets of physical paper.
Right now my top pick is the iPad Pro 2, but I have never owned an Apple product and to be perfectly honest, still hate Apple. My personal preferences are thrown out for this though. I need hardware/software to do handwriting and art, and not just "One Note Single Pen Type" style.
I want pen tip options. Nibs. Thickness. Wetness. Smoothing. Caligraphy stuffs.
Can the iPad or applications compatible with iPad do those things?
And in that same vein, do you folks have the software off the top of your head that you can point out that does fantastic with these things?
Thanks.

2017.12.04 01:34 Mahsstrac Rajhin, 4th Journal: Murderers, Thieves and Bleak Falls Barrow.

Part 1 + Introduction
Part 2: The Nine Lives of a Smooth Talker
Part 3: A New Path or A Series of Unfortunate Events

---Heartfire, 15th, 4E 201---
Last night this one met with a man named Eltrys. He claims there is some kind of conspiracy with the Forsworn going around Markarth - this one is curious, and this investigation seem furtuitous too: digging around about this may uncover some information that gives Rajhin acess to the silver mines.

Oh, yes - this one had not wrote about that. The silver mines in Markarth are controlled by the Silver-Blood family, and they don’t allow anyone to dig around in it.

---Heartfire, 15th, 4E 201---
Well, at first this one was moved out of pure curiosity - but there is definitly something fishy going on around Markarth, and you known how khajiit and fish can be.

First, Rajhin got threatened by a guard for asking around about the woman that got murdered in the market - who, turns out, was an imperial spy inside Markarth, working against the Silver-Bloods, who, in turn, seem to be allied with the Stormcloaks.

Soon after that, khajiit went down to the slums, searching for the man who murdered Margret, the spy. There was a note from someone named N, coordinating the attack - and when Rajhin was leaving the slum, some nord tried to intimidate him. If you put these claws together with Lajjan and Inigo, my friend, you can see how that turned out, yes?

Soon the man revealed that everything is being organized by someone named Nepo.

Khajiit is curious, yes, very curious, and this one can see many good things coming out of a Silver-Blood cleansing of Markarth, but can’t shake the feeling that getting tangled in politics right now is not the best move.

But Rajhin simply cannot resist a puzzle.

---Heartfire, 16th, 4E 201---
Everything seems to be connected to this King in Rags, a Forsworn who lives in the Cidha Mine prison and was kept alive by the Silver-Blood family.

The khajiit paid a visit to Nepo. He confessed, right before his entire house tried to kill Rajhin - this one must find Eltrys at once. Nepo’s journal had a confession in it, he regrets sending people to die for the Forsworn, but cannot disobey Madanach. Rajhin thinks it curious how close the word Madanach is to Malacath.

This one simply can’t wait to find out how this story ends.

---Heartfire, 18th, 4E 201---
Rajhin was in jail. Cidha Mine jail.

After the last entry, this one went to look for Eltrys. He was in the Shrine if Talos, yes, but there was no life to him - the man was dead, and the guards who had done it were there too. They turned to khajiit, pointing their weapons - this one and the others were ready to fight, but soon the small shrine was filled to the brim with guards. No use in fighting. All the recent murders were put on Rajhin, and this one was thrown in the mine. Inigo and Lajjan were separated from Rajjin.

In jail, Rajhin soon met the King in Rags, and listened to his story and the story of the other Forsworn. T’was a sad tale, indeed, and one that touches khajiit heart - the nords are a troublesome group of individuals, to put it mildly, and it does not surprise this one to learn that Ulfric and his stormcloacks resort to murdering women and children as a means to an end. That does not change the fact, however, that the Forsworn are doing pretty much the same thing, no?

Be things as they may, Madanach was ready to scape the mine and willing to let Rajhin go with him. The problem, however, was that this ones silver tongue was not enough to make him believe khajiit to be loyal - he wanted blood, the blood of a harmless inmate.

Rajhin refused, and Madanach shruged. During the night, this one searched everywhere - no sign of the key to the gate that led to the scape tunnel in the entire jail, not with Madanach, not in his quarters, not hidden anywhere. There was no way to pick the lock. Khajiit tried.

So the next day, Rajhin became a murderer. It was not an act of passion, nor an act of fear. It was a sad moment this one hopes never to repeat, an action taken out of necessity. The ligthning flowing through Rajhin’s fingertips, the charge building in his fur, and the rush as it danced through the air and found a home inside the inmate’s flesh... That felt... good, in a way. But not because of the murder. Because of the magic, because of the energies flowing through Rajhin. The man face twitched, and he did not scream as the eletricity flew through him, tensing his muscles and dropping him to the floor.

Killing a bandit that wants your blood is one thing. Murder like that... another. This one hopes the Celestial Pride may forgive him, but there was no other way. T’was that or rotting inside that mine forever.

After that, the rebellion started - all the prisoners went with Madanach and they fled through an old - and beautiful - dwarf tunnel that let to Markarth. Blood was shed, all the guards were murdered. Rajhin did not take part in that. During the end, the King in Rags warned this one - they were not friends, not allieds, and Rajhin should be careful around the Reach, for the Forsworn would show him no mercy.

Rajhin was reunited with Inigo and Lajjan, who seemed to have been encarcereted in a different part of the mine and fled with the forsworn when they saw the chance.

As this one writes this lines, something one of the Forsworn said keeps repeating in his head: “There are no innocent onlookers in this struggle. Just the guilty, and the dead.”

T’is time the khajiit leave Markarth and this struggle behind. No amount of silver is worth all this blood.

---Heartfire, 18th, 4E 201---
On their way out of the Reach, the khajiit stopped at an quaint Inn in the middle of nowhere called Old Hrodan. Most of the time Rajhin would rather just set up camp for the night, but Lajjan and Inigo were tired and deserve some music after all they’ve been through.

Just from Markarth to here, a few hours trip, there were multiple encounters - animal, man... seems like everything is trying to kill you on the Reach. Between the Imperials, the Stormcloaks, the Forsworn, the sabercats and the bears, Rajhin is truly amazed at how an inn like this, cozy and small, can still survive. Maybe there is something magical around this place?

Speaking of, the khajiit found another of those weird claws. A dark green one, this time. Made out of some kind of dark emerald. T’was on a cave behind a waterfall, close to a dead body. Rajhin was curious, but... this one has come to known that behind close doors in a nord ruin there is usually some dead man willing to kill you. Better safe than sorry, at least for now.

Lajjan and Inigo seem to be getting along, which is good. Maybe today this one will be able to do some more work on the journal. Ideally, the khajiit next stop will be Riverwood, going there through Falkreath. This one wants to collect more information about Bleak Falls Barrow.

---Heartfire, 18th, 4E 201---
This one thinks he may have found the Raven of Anvil. The bard in Old Hrodan Inn... she sang a song just like the one from the story. She fits the description.

Rajhin approached her with caution. After a lot of purring and inuendos, the supposed Raven asked for a favor - to insert her name in a ledger of the best bards in all of Skyrim.

It seems to this one that she wants to pull in Skyrim the same job she pulled on Cyrondill - to be invited to play at the Jarl palace, put them all to sleep and robb them clean.

This, well.. this kind of thing Rajhin can get behind. If not for the money, at least for the art. If not for the art, simply for the thrill. This one do hope she is the Raven. What an honor it would be!

---Heartfire, 20th, 4E 201---
As sure as these claws are sharp, the woman Rajhin met is the Raven of Anvil. She deemed this one worth of the knowledge when he got back after stealing the ledge. The problem, however, is that her plan is not going perfect - she asked Rajhin and his companions to find an old black market contact of her, a Bosmer, so he could help with the forging of a new ledger.

The problem? The rasqual is all the way up in Windhelm. As much as this one loves the Raven, and as much as he is willing to cooperate and learn, this khajiit feels that he must focus on his priorities: the research, the journal and it’s mysterious note.

That being as it is, this one sure hopes he can get to Windhelm some time soon. Having the caravan will facilitate things, since it will not be necessary to enter the city - although it can complicate these same things, for the sheer numbers of feline amazingness and grace and the effects it is known to have on nords. Inigo and Lajjan were excited about it, too. Well, Inigo was excited, Lajjan was silently willing.

The khajiit set up camp just outside Riverwood. Resting now, and tonight Rajhin will test his arcane knowledge with some bandits that seem to have taken up residence inside a mine nearby. It is absurd, in a way - the magic seems so natural, almost alive, as if it wanted to be understood. Rajhin can’t really explain.

In any case, tomorrow this one will send Inigo and Lajjan to the town to sell some pelts, and spend the day over the journal. It seems Rajhin is better with lightning spells, but he needs to refine his understanding of fire before venturing inside Bleak Falls Barrow.

The silver weapons were a problem. The khajiit have a one-handed one for Lajjan from Markarth, but that is it. Maybe the gods will provide. If not, fire will have to.

---Heartfire, 22nd, 4E 201---
About the bandits in the mine:

Spells are not as sneaky as Rajhin. They are loud and have bright lights. One would think that to be obvious, but an enthusiast cat can get distracted from the obvious while delving in the deeper matters, yes?

---Heartfire, 23rd, 4E 201---
It worked.

You see, it was a simple matter of comprehending the element properly. Rajhin is a natural with ligthning, but not with fire - because fire itself is not natural. People think so, but people are wrong. Fire demands energy, ligthning is energy, ligthning is the fire before the fire.

With the correct calculations and the appropriate changes in the formula, khajiit managed to comprehend more about fire, comprehend enough to form it into a semi-safe and semi-obedient sphere of heat that explodes in flames during impact.

Rajhin still believes fire to be too messy. But if the makes a mess out of the draugr, this one will be happy - all the effort won’t have been in vain. Well, it is not in vain, anyway. Cracking these complex codes about realities very pattern, it feels better than cracking the best locks.

Oh. Attached to this entry there will be a note taken from an assassin that came after the khajiit in the Reach. It is signed “E.”, as the journal, but the caligraphy is different, and the one who wrote does not seem to have a complete grasp of the language. Maybe proposital? What are the odds?

---Heartfire, 25th, 4E 201—
An important thing to keep in mind is that fire does hurt the dead, yes, but it also hurts your friends. Rajhin - and Lajjan, and Inigo - learned that the hard way.

The khajiit did find the claw belonging to the jetwijiri in Riverwood Traders. T’was with a bandit inside the tombs, one that was trapped by a giant spider. There were bandits everywhere - the tower in the way to the tombs, the entrance of the tomb, the first room… It seems to Rajhin they are another kind of pest in Skyrim, like Skeevers, but more smelly, no?

At first, dealing with the draugr was very, very, very hard - but this changed when the khajiit realized that the dead were not human, per se. They are not smart, and they do not act the same way smart people do - t’is like they are commanded to a very specific pattern of movements and predefined reactions, they have a system of sorts. When the khajiit decided to approach the problem as a lock to be picked and not as a sea of undead to kill, it all became easy: t’was simply a matter of carefully moving, drawing one or two attention, baiting it to a room, closing the door behind it and beating the crap out of the thing with fire and silver and steel.

T’is kind of boring, yes, but kind of fun too - t’is like cheating someone who wrongfully believes himself to be very smart. The bad part will be the sleeping: the system works, but it is very slow. The khajiit barricaded a room and set up camp behind the door.

---Heartfire, 26th, 4E 201-—
The night was ok. This one - and the others too, Rajhin Could bet - could hear, ever distant, the slow and continuous growling of the undead. But they never came close to where the khajiit were resting.

Room after room, section after section, the khajiit moved forward. That is the thing about them: khajiit are accostumed to impossible odds, and some would even say that they only truly excel when confronted with impossible odds. Anything else is just not worth the effort, yes?

The last room was enormous, filled with the creatures - it took at least six hours, in the back and forth system Rajhin devised, to wipe it clean. And clean is indeed a metaphor, because the place was very, very dirty, and the piles and piles of carbonized undead did not make it seem or smell any better. And there were piles off them. There were so many that at some points Rajhin was so tired and drained that he had to tear the dry dead flesh out of the draugr with his bare hands. Any general killed as many men as the khajiit killed draugr, and even the Hungry Cat would deem it excess.

But that was not the worst part. Nor was it the last one, the biggest one - that was the easy part. The worst part, my friend, was the wall.

This last room seemed to be built around this giant piece of wall that was in the center of it, in some kind of altar. It had weird words, and a dragon face sculpted on the top. Something about it... something about it was simply off. At the same time it did not seem to belong there, the whole place, the crypts, the draugr, the stairs, the traps, everything seemed to be just a prelude to it, as if it were the main storyline of an old tale, lost to the generations.

When Rhajin got close to it, something happened. There was this... whisper. Distant, but close, so very close. But Inigo was silent, and so was Lajjan - they were breathing heavily, exhausted, but not whispering. As Rajhin grew closer, the whisper grew in volume and in quantity - and with every step this one heart beat faster, filled with fear and expectation, but Rajhin could not stop himself from walking further, step after step, until his hand touched the wall, his claws scratching briefly the carved words, and the thousand whispers became one single scream, one single shout:

FUS

Rajhin staggered back a few steps, head hurting, shaking, hiding it in his paws. The word echoed inside this one’s mind. The wall, yes, but not the wall. It did not felt as if the wall was actually doing something. It felt like... like a catalyst. As if it jogged a memory he had long forgotten. But how could this one have a memory and not have it?

That was when the last of them woke up, and stole this khajiit from himself, forcing him to acknowledge the real world. When it died - again - Lajjan found inside his chestpiece the Dragonstone. Farengar was right - it is a map to something. If he really was right, a map to dragon burial sites.

On the back, the stone has inscriptions, inscriptions on the same alphabet of the word-wall. Rajhin decided not to take the stone back. No, no. Too many times this one has been played by the nords. Rajhin needs to understand this first. Maybe try and translate it, or at least get some idea of what is really happening.

Tomorrow the khajiit go on the road again. In the Seaside Library this one found a map, and it seems there is another library near Whiterun. Maybe it has some information. If it does not, some place will. Someone will. Somewhere. There was to be some kind of logical sense behind all this.

---Heartfire, 26th, 4E 201---
Rajhin slept a few hours to recharge his energies.

Dreamt of flying.

2016.08.23 20:08 BlueTheSnapper Glib's letter, unforgotten

Two and a half ears ago, GLIB RICHARD had delievered a letter to the office of Bozeman PRESEDENTE BlueTheSlapper. But due to it being accidentally absorbed by PIEG and almost dropped in the toy let that don't wark, and other subsequent shenanigans, the time to open is was neber found.
ACTING-PRESEDENTE VANDY was also lazy doesn't know how to open envelopes nobody even told him there was a letter preoccupied so the letter fell between the fridge and the bookshelf. But now, the newly elected PRESEDENTE OJOHN has finally discovered this long lost piece of caligraphy-covered shredded tree.
So mysterios. What was there to do except open it? (Options included: sautee, boiling with marinara and pesto, fermentation, feeding to dog [bonedogger {sic}], chopping and sprinkling red pepper asiago on top) Alas, he drew the blade of his ancestors, passed from generation down ever since the foundation of his greatgreatgreatgreat grand pop's helicopter painting business, in which the blade was originally used to scrape barnacles out from under the helicopters' magnificant flank [sic - chassis]. The blade drawn, OJOHN sliced the envelope cleanly into paper heaven. The letter floated in front of him, clearly written in GLIBRICHARD'S unforgettable handwriting. It even smelled of the RUEL VAPOURS he likely used to write it.

2014.02.07 02:49 Boxberry Learning Kurrentschrift

I was wondering if anyone had any experience, thoughts, or tips with learning the german script, Kurrentschrift (Kurrent). Here and here are the alphabets from the Wikipedia page, and here are two more:
1
2
I also saw this website that provided some insight on Kurrent. How should I go about making guidelines by hand or through this generator and learning this script?
On a slightly related note, I was also searching through the CaligraphyAlaphbets's imgur album by xenizondich23, specifically the Baroque and the Modern, Ornamental, Other section where I found two somewhat similar scripts.
1
2
Now, they don't look to be Kurrent, but I am curious as to what you would call this (these?) script(s). I was drawn to them because they look nice and fluid but are simplistic in nature.
