Producers in savanna desert

Who I want back

2024.06.09 21:26 Zealousideal_Deal231 Who I want back

Najarala and Malfestio
Najarala is basically in with the new monsters skeleton being very similar so all they would have to do is make it larger and actually look like najarala or make a new subspecies of it but not have the original
(They can do this with zamtrios and Tiger stripe too)
And Malfestio, well we haven't seen him in awhile and we haven't had a good Bird wyvern in a long while so he should come back or seeing that the map seems like a savanna and desert why not make a vulture or Buzzerd that is similar to Malfestio
Also If they don't add Nibelsnarf or Tetsucabra it is a war crime
Also Some unpopular opinions but Cephadrome and Plesioth should also come back or at least a new Good piscine wyvern the two of them are good, both of them (probably idk about Plesioth my first game was MHFU) were found in the desert and they honestly weren't the worst
Anyway yeah that was my Ted talk I probably made so many spelling mistakes but I'm too tired to care see ya and I'm ready to be burned alive for some things I've said

2024.06.09 21:25 OuijaBoard-Demon Redesigning Gaara, Jinchuriki, and the Tailed Beasts.

A predicament that I realized I was facing when it comes to rewrite Naruto was the nonsense that the Tailed Beasts were. All I knew was that I wanted to do was take away the whole 10 Tails/World Tree/Chakra Fruit bullshit but also to make the Tailed Beasts equal in power. (Because I loathed how Kishimoto killed the dynamic Shukaku and Kurama)
I actually got into a small misunderstanding led argument with my best friend about it all but once we got on the same page and realized we were arguing over a basic miscommunication we got to geeking out and conceptualizing and boy was that FUN.
I'm not gonna say WHERE the Bijuu came from or why they exist, they just do (yes I have a reason as to the why and how's but I ain't saying SHIT). and I have changed up their powers and behaviors (I'm mainly writing here because I don't want to lose any of this information incase anything happens, plus if anyone wants to use these ideas they can just pop in over).
To start off, all the Bijuu offer village/country wide benefits to the Shinobi of those villages and countries, depending on the Bijuu it's a side effect of living around them, or just simply putting up with it.
These benefits is because of how vast the chakra of the Bijuu is so all consuming that those who live around and born around it sometimes get the same elemental release as the Bijuu itself which is rare but they always get certain benefits that are more basic but extremely beneficial.
For example, the Village Hidden in the Mist:
The Hidden Mist has two Bijuu, Isobu (3 tails) and Saiken (6 tails).
Isobu grants the Village and Country an extremely thick and protective mist that automatically casts Genjutsu. Those born in the Mist and it's country have a small chance of being born with Boil Release, but are guaranteed to have an extreme resistance to Genjutsu.
Saiken on the other hand grants protection from parasites (so those from the Mist and their country would be protected from things such as tapeworms, ticks, etc.) along with the probability to have the Kekkei Tota of Corrosion Release (Water, Wind and Fire).
These sorts of benefits from the tailed beasts are why villages and countries tend to fight, resource benefits, and beast benefits. However the tailed beasts are stubborn and have their own territories which tends to be where the villages and countries are. If a Jinchuriki were to step out of their countries they get more than a little homesick.
They start taking on attributes of their beast, from claws, cravings, to even getting the tails, though this happens gradually, but if they stay away from their country too long a full possession will occur and the beast will make its way back to the country and there is no stopping it. Some are more stubborn than others and it also depends on the willpower of the Jinchuriki and how long they can resist the urge to go home.
So let's look a the other seven tailed beasts.
Shukaku is very much a stubborn asshole who believes that defense is the best offense. They're manipulative and will stop at nothing to spite humans who they view as beneath them. They grant the village an eternal sandstorm that protects them from raids and warring countries along with the possibility of being born with magnet release. Because of being sealed inside of Gaara, Gaara can bless his village and the shinobi safe travels in the desert.
Shukaku can change their gender and presentation, and did in fact do so to further manipulate Gaara, and get the benefits of being able to use him to lash out at Rasa and the civilians and anyone who they think will be fun to kill. So yes, Shukaku changed their gender and presentation to female to prey on Gaara's survivors guilt and lack of maternal affection.
Shukaku's design has also changed to a mix of a lot of animals, mostly Hyena, Tanuki, and a bit of bear. Also having some artwork from the tea kettle she was sealed in.
She is the cruelest of all the tailed beasts. Those who had been her Jinchuriki (including Gaara) had to put up with either not sleeping at all, or falling asleep and allowing her to possess them and attack the village while they suffer from nightmares that range from psychological horror, to their past trauma haunting them. All Jinchuriki of her's had the same "panda eyes" that Gaara has.
Matami, the 2 tails, is the embodiment of the saying "Curiosity killed the cat but satisfaction brought it back", those born in her territory are granted with naturally high IQs and curiosity. They also have the heightened chancr of being born with Storm Release. Oddly enough no matter what happens to the Shinobi and civilians of the country they know all the cardinal directions and which way is up and down. Even while incapacitated.
Goku the 4 tails, has granted his territory (aka village and country) far more minerals than anyone could ask for a long with protection from natural disasters, there is also the chance of being born with Magma Release.
For example, should you be from Iwa and you go and visit a town next to a volcano that was set to go off that week, it won't go off until you leave and are a safe distance from it.
Kokuō, the 5 tails, has been changed to a mountain goat, grants the Shinobi and civilians the ability to walk up anything that isn't a 90° angle WITHOUT THE USE OF CHAKRA, along with extreme endurance. Heightened chance of Earth Release.
Chomei, the 7 tails, is a literal Queen Bee. Seven stingers and all. The honey she and her hive produces will grant increased chakra though depending on the status of the Shinobi and how much they eat it could have a lethal effect.
For example, if a Genin were to get a hold of the honey, they'd have the chakra level of a Jonin for a short amount of time but it could turn the poor Genin into a statue, killing them due to their lack of training and eating more than a teaspoons worth of honey.
Because of Chomei and her hive she grants an abundance of pollination and pollinators, allowing for perfect farming conditions and dominance in the flower industry. She also grants an increased chance of Wood Release. The Village Hidden in the Waterfall (where she resides) are almost at the level on par with the great nations but due to a lack of military operatives they are still not there yet.
Giyuki, the 8 tails, grants safe travels while sailing, and almost an overabundance of sea life (which Matami enjoys), production of ink, and grants a heightened chance of Water Release.
Kurama, this fox grants the territory that is fire country and Hidden Leaf an abundance of wildlife, from bears and deer, to birds, beetles, wolves and more, making it a pain in the ass for anyone trying to invade. But for those of the country and village this grants them far more resources for their animal based Jutsu (Inuzuka and Aburame), and medical resources (Nara and any medical Nin ever). Grants a higher likelyhood for Fire Release.
The Hidden Sand is now a lot like Ancient Egyptian, specifically the 25th Dynasty of Egypts Black Pharohs, Noxus and Shurima from League of Legends.
So yes, the Sand Siblings are now mixed race, (black and Japanese specifically).
Gaara is going to look quite a bit different than his cannon appearance, but the same neglect, maybe a bit worse, and depression is still there. And yes he's keeping the red hair though it's going to be styled in dreads.
Kankuro is going to be pale compared to his siblings because of how much he hides away in his workshop. (He's a nerd).
Side note: never offer to buy food for a Jinchuriki, you'll find your bank account empty before they even say they're done eating.

Anyways if you made it this far thanks for looking and my FAQs are next!
FAQ
Where are all your things made? By me, on my 1940s sewing machine, in my craft room.
What materials do you use? For the most part, everything is made in the USA and Berry compliant. Generally speaking, I use the following: AA55301 or MIL-17337 webbing; Berry compliant 500D Cordura; MIL-W-5664 elastic; Berry compliant 550 paracord; Berry compliant shock cord; either Velcro and/or generic hook and loop; and ITW or Duraflex hardware. There may be some outliers. All my thread is a TEX 75 heavy duty thread from a US company.
What will the slings fit through? Anything that has a 1" slot, whether it's a QD, HK clip, plastic clip, rifle sling mount, paracord, zip ties, etc.
How do I install this through something or to my weapon? Step by step procedure here of what I do.
Do I have any clips or QD mounts? Not at this time, no.
Do you do custom work? Sometimes, depending on my schedule, but any transactions would not be through GAFS.
Do I have XXX color or product? If it's not listed I don't have it at this moment.
Why did you start this? In 2022 or so I was in the market for an inexpensive sling in a color other than black and also made in the USA. After I made a few for myself I started to produce these as a low-cost, high quality sling for anyone who was in the same boat I was in.
Why do you keep doing this? It's fun! Sewing has let me be creative and make myself kit that I like! Also allows me to prototype things and pass on my "old stuff" to you!

2024.06.09 19:01 Repulsive_Drama_6404 How to create “complete” 15-minute communities?

The idea of a 15-minute community is that everyone who lives there should have access to all the everyday necessities of life within a 15 minute walk or bike ride. Some of these are easy to achieve as part of the public urban design process, like parks and schools. But under a capitalist system, it seems a lot harder to ensure that every 15-minute community has all the basics. For example, even relatively small supermarkets have razor thin profit margins, and must draw customers from a very large radius in order to remain profitable. Very few places have enough residential density to support a profitable supermarket just from customers who are within walking or cycling distance of the store. Even if you have appropriate zoning for a supermarket within a 15 minute community, there is no guarantee under free market capitalism that anyone will choose to site a supermarket there, nor that it would remain in business. Even under the current urban design system in the US, food deserts that lack access to fresh produce are distressingly common.

2024.06.09 18:16 Kekktye A Sourced History of My Chemical Romance's Lost Songs Rediscovered Nine Volt Heart Info

This is a repost with new info, corrections and better formatting. Thanks for previous contributions! <3
I've seen quite a few "All lost My Chemical Romance songs" and "My Chemical Romance rarities" posts, but they mostly all either:
A: Conflate "Lost" with "Rare" or "Not studio-produced" B: Aren't Sourced C: Incomplete D: Have disinfo E: Mistakenly include working titles for later released tracks as "lost"
So, here we go! I've gotten most of my info from a few archives and long-time fans in the community but I would love to hear any additions you have to add! The more eyes the better!
For clarity: Bullets = I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love Revenge = Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge LOTMS = Life on the Murder Scene TBP = The Black Parade TBPID = The Black Parade Is Dead! DD = Danger Days CW = Conventional Weapons TPK = The Paper Kingdom MDNSY = May Death Never Stop You
Tracks are listed in supposed creation order, then by discovery or release Nine Volt Heart aka Android [..?] - Song title found in now-lost Flash player elements of My Chemical Romance's official site going back to at least 5/25/2002. According to a 2011 text interview by Cassie The Venomous with Gerard and Mikey, the song was played once live at NJ's Loop Lounge to bad reactions from the band and poor fanfare and as a result shelved from future releases. Later possibly reworked into an unreleased song named "'Android...' something?". Though according to a 2004 post by SpaceyRaygun, a long-time friend of the band, Nine Volt Heart was instead reworked onto a Revenge track. Fandom rumors going back to at least 5/3/2006 claim Nine Volt Heart was a cover of the Smashing Pumpkins' song Bodies albeit with slightly different lyrics. Although the poster's source songmeanings.net has since taken down the potentially false lyrics page.
The Attic Demos aka Dreams \of/about]) Stabbing and/or Being Stabbed - A CD Distributed at early shows and among the band's circle. Later partially released on 2014's MDNSY, though these demos circulated the fandom pre-2014 from these promotional CDs.
Wish You Away aka Drowning Lessons Rough Mix - If community sources are to be believed (1) (2) (3) (4)) (5) a variant of The Attic Demos distributed among friends and family of the band contains recordings of 'Vampires Will Never Hurt You' titled "Stabbing" and 'Drowning Lessons' titled "Wish You Away" (Pre-release titles corroborated by the early instances of My Chemical Romance's website).
Stabbing aka Vampires Will Never Hurt You Demo - Found as of July 23rd, 2022. Demo released via Instagram from for Bullet's 20th anniversary. This CD was given to Nada Recording in 2002 prior to their recording of Bullets. Clip is partially cut off and downloaded through Instagram API.
Early Sunsets Over Monroeville Demo - An Attic Demo found by SpaceyRaygun with an Early Sunsets Over Monroeville recording not included on MDNSY. Included in notable bootlegs such as Self-titled MP3 Collection released 2010. ~Fake demo debunked by (Friend of Matt Pelissier) and SpaceyRaygun (The track's original source).
Sister to Sleep - One of the earliest songs written for Revenge, revealed in a 2003 interview as conceptualized for The Freddy vs. Jason Soundtrack before licensing fell through. It was re-conceptualized around The Sandman series of comics, where sleep is anthropomorphized as the titular Sandman, and his sister as Death. In its released form, the lyrics explore sleep as an analogy for death and themes of insomnia and institutionalization. Ultimately, the track was cut from release by producer Howard Benson. Two live recordings (1) (2) of this song have circulated the fandom for a number of years, with one found more recently all from the same show played in NYC's the Knitting Factory on 6/26/2003. On 10/17/2022, it was played once more in Inglewood during the RETURN Tour, albeit slightly different lyrics. Later, Frank spoke on a 2023 interview about using live footage for practice, likely explaining the difference in lyrics. In 2013 the band had stated in an interview potentially none of the members still possessed a copy of Sister to Sleep's demo recording (A claim still supported by Frank in a 2022 interview) except possibly for a soundcheck library recording Mikey was given from the Knitting Factory show. With renewed interest in the song, Matt Pelissier was asked via Twitter about the track. If community sources \1]) \2]) are to be believed, a Twitter user "Martin" asked Gerard the whereabouts and existing number of these demos, Gerard would share that they lost the only existing copy moving from coast to coast a number of years ago. Martin then asked Matt about the demos to corroborate Gerard's story, which prompted Matt to reveal more info. Matt claimed he was given an additional copy of Sister to Sleep, as were all of the band members, their studio and their label. Fans supposedly questioned his demo's legitimacy. (1) (2) (3) Matt then posted three 15 second clips of the track to his Instagram. These clips were DMCA claimed by Warner and Matt was threatened with potential legal action if he continued copyright violations. However, fans downloaded these clips before they were taken down. (1) (2) Afterwards, Matt was asked via text conversations by his Revenir bandmate u/dansplayslol11 after hearing the track if he still intended on leaking it. Matt explained that he didn't intend on releasing them being content as the apparent sole owner of the demo.
Manhattan Demos aka A-Demos - In 2013 the band had stated in an interview Sister to Sleep's studio recording existed on the "Manhattan Demos" or "A-Demos" as Ray called them that also contained demo material later released on LOTMS. Screenshots of other production tracklists around this time have also been leaked and released by several sources including Revenge producer Howard Benson. (1) (2) (3) (4) (5) (6)
I'm Not Okay (I Promise) Demo - A 1 minute 4 second Clip of an I'm Not Okay demo uploaded by the YouTube channel AJ Serna in 2012 which contains the line "And never mind the drugs you took" instead of Revenge's release version "The photographs your boyfriend took" with notably worse recording quality. This lyric was likely remnants from when the song served as the conclusion to the album with a spoken word outro by Daryl Palumbo \Of Glassjaw, Head Automatica] and is more in-line with) early production takes of the song.
Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge Instrumentals - Instrumental versions of all 13 original Revenge tracks can be heard as backing tracks for the duration of LOTMS. Never released as a stand-alone instrumental promotional album unlike TBP.
Someone Out There Loves You - Released as a live performance on the official TBPID DVD as Track 30 with a live video. Unofficially titled 'Stay' by fans before its official title was revealed by Gerard on Twitter. Frank revealed in an interview with The Music that the song had a studio demo but "lyrical reservations" prevented its release.
MCRBlog 09' Demos - Throughout 2009, the band would post an occasional series titled 'Practice Cam' where they'd take photos and videos of whiteboards containing song titles. Fans like Cassie the Venomous were able to decipher some of these titles, and later corroborate them with at-the-time newly released live performances. (What was initially titled 'Siren Song' as a live performance eventually released as 'AMBULANCE', ect.) However, some of these teased titles never received accompanying live material. These include:
"Still Alive" \Also detailed in) this interview.\) "Teenage Girl" "Pretty [..?]" "Monster Jam" \This could be in reference to the video game 'Monster Jam: Masters of Mayhem' of which 'I'm Not Ok)' appeared as an in-game track).\)
Hell Hath No Fury - This track was apparently credited to My Chemical Romance (1) (2) for 2012's The Man With The Iron Fists but never appeared on the movie's soundtrack. It's theorized this track midway through the film is a snippet of the track.
The Paper Kingdom - Proceeding DD's touring cycle, the My Chemical Romance began work on their 5th studio record before scrapping the album due to burnout, depression and unhealthy habits. (1) (2) Some of this material was likely posted by a user named Excalibur and sold for $10k+ on the leaked music website Leaked.cx in late September 2022. Snippets of these tracks with added auditory watermarks were provided by the leaker for legitimacy from tracks with the filenames "Dark Cloud", "Witch" and "Wake Up!". However, these clips were taken down by Warner both on leaked.cx and on other sites' reposts, likely validating the leak's legitimacy. One track recognized by Warner's automatic content ID system was entitled "Paper Swords" by My Chemical Romance.
The Foundations of Decay Sessions - According to comments by Excalibur made under leaked.cxs TPK leak, they also possessed demo sessions for the My Chemical Romance's 2022 release The Foundations of Decay. It was unclear whether these sessions were also purchased and vaulted alongside TPK's leak by the same or another buyer.
... These aren't exactly "lost", only \notable]) live performances with no evidence of official or studio variants: FYI, any of these songs can be heard with a simple YouTube or Internet Archive search \if I don't already link a primary or secondary source here.)
Everybody Tie Your Shoe - Stage banter on TBP's 2007 tour. Released on the 'Fans of Compilations' bootleg album in 2008.
The Drugs - A scrapped song played live sometime during 2009 during the Summer Sonic Festival. Later never released alongside the other CW-era singles or later DD material. Released as a live track on 'Still Chemical Dependency' bootleg album in 2009.
Everybody Hates the Eagles aka Kill Em' All aka DD Jam Session - A DD-era Jam Session repurposed for the My Chemical Romance's 2022-2023 tour and given lyrics with a variety of concluding lines rhyming or spinning on the phrase "Everybody Hates the Eagles". (1) (2) (3) (4)
... These aren't in any sense "lost". Some just aren't on streaming services, just obscure or with no official release: FYI, any of these songs can be heard with a simple YouTube or Internet Archive search \if I don't already link a primary or secondary source here.)
Jack the Ripper (cover) - Live cover of Morrissey's song released on the EP Like Phantoms, Forever in 2002 including live banter, then later released as a cut-down version on the Thank You for the Venom 7" in 2004. Please do not harass or beg band members or those affiliated with the band for unreleased material. Archival efforts are important but many of these songs fall under copyright and/or hold great personal value. Be respectful in reaching out to potential leads.
If anyone has better sources, anything else to correct or add I'd love to add to what I have and will credit.
Thanks for all the help! <3 Happy 20 years to Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge! :3

2024.06.09 18:11 iamkingsleyf 7 Different Types of Stone Flooring

Many different types of stone flooring can bring natural beauty to the inside and outside of your home.
If you've been thinking about new floors, you've probably considered hardwood and ceramic tile because of their widespread positive reputations.
However, stone tiles are a practical yet luxurious flooring option that will add value and beauty to your home for those willing to spend a little more than average.
Natural Stone tiles are sourced directly from the soil, making each unique and subject to natural variations.
Because of its durability and richness, stone tile is an excellent choice for flooring. They offer a high-end aesthetic at a low cost and are simple to maintain.
In addition, they're simple to clean, and most variations merely require resealing regularly. Their strength and beauty make them excellent for high-traffic areas.

1. Marble Flooring

Marble flooring is known for its luxurious aesthetic, dramatic veining, smooth texture, and high-gloss sheen. It is available in various colors, with white Marble being the most common.
Marble tiles are also available in various sizes, ranging from large format to little mosaic tile. Square, rectangular, round, triangular, hexagonal, and nearly all other shapes are also available.
Furthermore, Marble is the most popular natural stone flooring choice for bathrooms to achieve a spa-like atmosphere.
Given the variety of floor tile options, Marble is an excellent choice for flooring and countertops in many homes. However, it would be best to think twice about using Marble in your kitchen.
Advantages of Marble flooring;
Disadvantages of Marble Flooring;

2. Granite Flooring

Granite is one of the most different types of stone flooring since it can be used on both floors and worktops.
It occurs in various natural colors, with black, white, red-brown, and beige being the most popular. As a result, it's a stone that may be used in various styles.
Granite is one of the most challenging natural stones on the planet in terms of durability, and as a result, it is exceptionally resistant to scratches and heat damage.
Last but not least, Granite is a non-porous rock that resists acidic stains almost wholly. In addition, Granite comes in a variety of colors, including black, green, pearl, and galaxy.
Advantages of granite flooring;
Disadvantages of granite flooring;

3. Slate Flooring

Slate is a lovely porous stone with a lot of character. These types of slate flooring are easier to cut and mold into flat flooring sheets.
Slate is available in three colors: black, gray, and gold. In addition, Its surface is stain-resistant or impermeable, making it ideal for use in kitchens, dining rooms, bathrooms, corridors, and living spaces.
Slate is a versatile material that may be used in both humid and dry regions of the home. In addition, Slate can also be used to make a lovely mosaic pattern on the walls of a bedroom.
Also, It is an excellent or appropriate substance to employ in the home to create a warm atmosphere.
Advantages of slate flooring;
Disadvantages of slate flooring;

4. Travertine Stone flooring

Travertine is formed when hot spring water bubbles through Limestone. It is a desired flooring option due to its distinct personality and appearance.
Travertine tile flooring is ideal for bathrooms, shower stalls, corridors, living areas, and laundry rooms. Keep in mind.
However, that travertine is related to Marble and Limestone. All three have the exact performance characteristics and maintenance requirements virtually.
All three stones have in common that they can all be scraped and carved (damage to the finish from acids and harsh cleaners).
It is critical to completely clean and care for your furniture.
Advantages;
Disadvantages;

5. Limestone Flooring

This is one of the different types of stone flooring that is naturally soft and porous.
These stone flooring options are suitable for a wide range of decorating styles, from traditional to contemporary. It's simple to keep clean and maintain.
The earthy appeal of the limestone floor adds to the house's charm. Furthermore, unlike Marble, pottery, and other materials, Limestone is not glassy or slippery, making it a safe choice for families with children or dogs.
In addition, Limestone is available in a wide range of colors, from milk to charcoal.
Advantages;
Disadvantages;

6. Quartzite

Quartzite is well-known as a material for decorative tiles and wall veneers, but it has recently gained popularity as a countertop material.
It can resemble Marble in appearance yet has the durability, performance, and low-maintenance characteristics of Granite.
Quartzite is used by people who find the busy patterns of Granite and the upkeep of Marble a little too much.
Furthermore, A quartzite floor can greatly benefit areas of the house or structure that experience a lot of foot traffic. The stone also holds up well outdoors.

7. Sandstone

Sandstone is a warm, earthy stone with a sandy ridged texture, and rich red, tan, and brown colors conjure the beach and desert. However, these are the most popular colors—pink, gray, gold, black, and white.
Sandstone has a simple design and is frequently a single color. However, it can show variegated tints and striations of different colors.
Furthermore, Cemented silicates, quartz, feldspar, clays, and silt make up the majority of this sedimentary rock.
Because sandstone tile is soft and porous, it is easy to scratch and stain, weighing the benefits and drawbacks. It is not as long-lasting as Granite, but it is durable enough.
The appearance will alter slightly when put outdoors due to weather.

2024.06.09 01:50 FlygonPR Why does Mexico City have relatively warm summers and ocassional heat waves, yet Bogota (1000 ft higher) and even Manizales (the latter being near identical in elevation) seems to have milder weather even in the Northern Hemisphere summer, and very few heat waves despite being closer to the equator?

I know Mexico City is a drier city (and therefore less cloudy days), and affected by smog that is trapped by the mountains. Despite heavy pollution, smog is a much lesser issue in Bogota. Overall, there seem to be other factors like the position of mountains and the Interrtopical Convergence Zone and the hot air of the North American deserts going into the Mexican Highlands. Bogota, while vulnerable to droughts, has a less marked dry season and is completely surrounded on all sides by mountains, with two tall mountain ranges shielding it from the ocean. Mexico City does seem to have more influence from the ocean, since its only one mountain range on three sides (the two Sierra Madres on the sides don't seem to be higher than the city itself, whereas the Cordilleras in Colombia are all taller than the Bogota Savanna). and few mountains between the city and the lower elevation bajio, and then the Chihuahuan Desert.

2024.06.08 22:46 minecraftnoob72 [Primer] Dune the TCG - Hazezon, Shaper of Sand.

As I was updating my Moxfield Primer, I felt like sharing my list here as well. I tried to summerise but feel free to check out my primer for a more indepth look at the list.
Link to the deck and its Primer.

Introduction

This deck isn't a traditional landfall deck, even though it includes some typical cards like Lotus Cobra, Azusa, Lost but Seeking, and Dryad of the Ilysian Grove. It is the culmination of much thought and is constantly evolving in response to new releases or adjustments to my play style.
To construct this deck, we had to play around several constraints. Firstly, deserts aren't basic lands, so we can't rely on typical green ramp spells like Kodama’s Reach, Rampant Growth, Cultivate, etc. Secondly, deserts objectively aren't good lands. Many produce colorless mana, and those that produce colored mana enter the battlefield tapped more than half of the time. That being said, the Outlaws of Thunder Junction expansion has brought us numerous cards, primarily deserts but also one or two cards that will strengthen our strategy. For example, the excellent Dune Chanter and the ramp spell Map the Frontier. And even more recelty, we got a new bomb from MH3 with the Desert Warfare.
There are several options for building this deck. I've decided to focus on creating tokens solely related to the multiple desert ETB effects. We'll discuss this further later, but I'm not including any token doublers like Anointed Procession, Parallel Lives, or Doubling Season. For me, they are not needed in this deck and feel like "win more" cards.
I've implemented numerous lords to make our token army more threatening, and I've complemented all of this with a burn sub-theme. These additional points of damage are always welcome and can, in certain circumstances, secure us the victory.
Finally, note that there is no fast mana or combo in this deck.
Given the uniqueness of deserts, this deck will require careful calculation of each of your plays, which provides **great satisfaction** when everything falls into place correctly.
Furthermore, the deck utilizes many cards that are not often seen, at least from my experience, which adds a fresh aspect to the gameplay, even if it remains disguised as tokens/landfall.
The deck can be completely shut down by ETB suppression effects like Elesh Norn, Mother of Machines The mana base can sometimes work against us, and we'll have to make do with what we have, which can be a bit frustrating at times.
The deck revolves exclusively around its commander to create tokens and thus build our army, which can become tricky if it gets too much attention from removal.
If you don't enjoy playing with a board filled with tokens or prefer a deck that can be piloted without the presence of its commander, this deck might not be the right fit for you.
But don't worry, you can find more of my decks with different archetypes on my Moxfield profile!
Overall, this deck is mid-tier. It can be a bit hard to set up at times, especially when you are unlucky with your land drops. You can play it in a pod with upgraded precons such as the Merfolk one. There is a low amount of "feel bad" cards and you may play it agaisnt newer players.
That being said, the deck may struggle at a table full of highly optimized decks that run a lot of interactions. As it is centered around a bit of flavor and some gimic/pet cards, this deck is perfect for casual games with a drink 🍺

Strategy

Our main plan is to deal damage through combat, utilizing evasion such as trample or double strike. We assemble a substantial army thanks to our commander and the multiple cards that allow us to play more than one land per turn. Our primary finisher is swinging with Jetmir, Nexus of Revels out. However, we can certainly kill opponents one by one with an army of boosted by one or two of our lords ; hitting with about ten 5/5s should do the job.
I removed the old tutors (Worldly Tutor, Eladamri's Call and Time of Need) from the deck to add more synergistic cards and to be less reliant on a single card to win. This allows the games to be a bit more unique and to see a greater variety of cards.
Against opponents who also assemble armies of tokens or large boards, we deviate from our strategy a bit to focus on burn damage, using cards like Impact Tremors, Purphoros, God of the Forge, Witty Roastmaster and the new card Warleader's Call. These additional damages also allow us to finish the game more quickly and exert some form of pressure on the table.

Hazezon and its peculiarities.

Let's say the first line of text is there for flavor; Desertwalk is rarely relevant.
Next, Hazezon creates 2 Sand Warrior tokens each time a desert enters the battlefield.
It's important to note that these tokens have all three colors: White, Green, and Red. This is crucial to keep in mind because we will build around that. Additionally, since we already create 2 tokens per desert, I don't see the need to add token doublers.
I've had them in the past in other versions of the deck, but I felt like they slowed down my gameplay rather than speeding it up. And cards like Anointed Procession, Parallel Lives or the recently printed Ojer Taq, Deepest Foundation tend to draw focus on us, whereas a card like Hour of Promise will usually pass unnoticed, despite providing a similar effect in our deck.
Finally, we can play our deserts from our graveyard. This ability is very interesting because many deserts require sacrificing to benefit from their effects. This allows us to fully utilize cards like Realms Uncharted or Nahiri's Lithoforming and flood the board in no time.
Note that I don't play any of the cards that allow playing lands from the graveyard. To me, it doesn't make sense and it's a false good idea. The only lands we're interested in for our strategy are deserts, and Hazezon already allows us to play them from our graveyard. Cards like Ramunap Excavator, Ancient Greenwarden, or Crucible of Worlds lead us in the wrong direction and don't offer the redundancy we hope for. Yes, we can replay fetchlands with these cards, but we'll quickly exhaust their usefulness. Remember, the desert type is a distinct nonbasic land type.

Game plan

Ramp as every deck does: play some mana rocks, search for your color fixing, and try to acquire some deserts to sacrifice easily, such as Grasping Dunes or Cradle of the Accursed.
Try to understand the board state and do not hesitate to delay your plan if you are seen as the biggest threat. You should have a good "multi land" card such as Azusa, Lost but Seeking or Exploration.
This deck can burst out in one or two turns with cards like Zuran Orb, Summer Bloom, or Nahiri's Lithoforming.
By turns 8 to 10, you should have established a plan to swing at the biggest threat or the weakest opponent, as you prefer. With one of our pingers, you should then be able to finish off the rest of the table with some desert recursion shenanigans.

Conclusion

Thank you very much for reading this far. Do not hesitate to check my other decks. Feel free to contact me on Discord at bulbax for feedback or questions. I tried to summerise but feel free to check out my primer for a more indepth look at the list.
Stay safe, and keep enjoying this amazing hobby ❤

Is my brain rotten from playing so much Factorio? Am i making this more complicated than it needs to be? Does a 4 by 4 Rebalancer really have to look like this?
So... i always love playing Factory-Games with a BUS in my main base... i usually do a little starting Factory to create a "mall" where i'm producing belts, essential machines and in the case of foundry also Building Blocks... Now i've started laying out my actual base in a vast open desert space. So space isn't really the issue for me, but i was wondering how a 4 by 4 balancer would look like in Foundry...
Does anybody have any input on this? It would be greatly appreciated

2024.06.08 20:06 Ilyak1986 Review of Separate Ways, card by card

Ruinous Rift: the one problem with this card is that F doesn't really have good influence matters payoffs, so the downside of this power is that it only produces F. If that doesn't matter to you, at least a 3 of in decks that even moderately run F sources. Incidental attachment destruction is a premium, and being able to get it from your power base is very nice when there's stuff like throne room, TCP, etc. running around.
Quick Study: just how many skills are good on a 2/1? Quickdraw, deadly, double damage, aegis, and regen? There...might be some sort of FPS deck that loads up on skills that make this card good, but the units with those skills often aren't good in and of themselves. I'd start poking around in Stonescar, just because shadow has the only 2 cheap regenerators, and maybe add P for Plunk and Snowcrust Yeti for aegis? This one doesn't really impress.
Scavenger Scraps: Sure, rift siphon needs you to connect to get it going, but outside of that, this thing is just awful. Why is this even a card?
Wildfire Crawler: no overwhelm and 5-cost for this thing? DWD's utterly trolling us. I get sling exists but...the 4-5 cost units of two entire factions should not be balanced around the existence of a single unhealthy relic. For what it's worth, inferno phoenix and soulfire drake are just plain better, and it isn't close.
Secluded Rift: another case of "can you fit this into your power base? If so, load up." We know how good valk enforcer and desert marshal are. Having more silence is good.
Caravan Wingwright: obviously, Veena's masterpiece comes to mind. Honey cards are usually too slow (Fystia, Veena herself), or just plain suck (liquid flame, 3/2 draft bozo in J), so there aren't enough good honey generators to really make this card go places on its own. However, shardbinder also exists, and combined, you have redundancy on lowering relic activation costs. If you have two of these guys out, then you're looking at cards like waystone gate and bottled storm suddenly becoming waaaaay better. I'm not sure if throne is just too fast for this card, but I'd keep my eyes peeled for relics with 1-2 activation costs that this might suddenly improve. I just don't think we're at critical mass yet.
Embargo Runner: not playing a relic with cost 4 or less is so brutal. Playing a reinforced reaper or reusable femur from the void might be cool for various bolster decks in expedition. In throne? There are just plain better things to do on 4 IMO than a 4/5 vanilla that needs to swing, barring some silliness like Blitz Stone.
Nomnom's feast: crack target, possible card in rebuild, or maybe some sort of aggro top-end in some Alessi style deck? I haven't yet seen a particularly compelling use case for this card yet, but "draw 5 for 5" sounds like it can only be so bad.
Overgrown Rift: no, just no. Inscribe your platings and be happy, people. If you need even more bolster from the power base, J waystone exists.
Steelfang Glaive: I've played with this one. So, first off, the good news: if you have any armor on your avatar and you play this, the additional copy gets that additional armor. However, the bad news is...it swings for 2, barring attack buffs on weapons in hand. If you can get this to 3+, this thing becomes that much better, but as it stands, there are just going to be situations that it fails to kill anything as a relic weapon. Obviously, if you have 2+ units, 4/2 spread out across 2 units for 2 is pretty phenomenal rate. The biggest issue though, right now, is that the two factions that would love to curve 1-drops into this, Argenport and Rakano, are missing their paintings, and Rakano also has no marks. If the power situation in FJS weren't so rancid, this card would be that much better, but alas.
Agent of the Reeve: chalice intensifies! Silliness aside, it seems to be a modal between a 3/4 for 3 and an excellent wall. Definitely not throne material, but might do something in expedition.
Spearcoat Hulk: this thing could cost 5 with the bolster bonus being permanent, and I'd argue it still wouldn't be all that good. At 6 cost with a for-the-turn bonus, it's just DWD being classic DWD and making expensive cards junk for no particularly good reason. Considering how dominant Boars/Patrice/Wasp is in expedition, I am aghast as to why this card is so pulled.
Windswept Rift: what's to say? It kills X/1s while generating card advantage, it pops aegis, and it benefits from +spell damage effects, so extra fun if you're in skycrag. The only downside with this card is that it's competing with cobalt waystone for the "mono P source that isn't a sigil" space. But if I had to say, probably the generally best of the cycle.
Haven Augur: f0x seems to be enamored with this card for her passive, but I still see her as "Alessi at home". For what it's worth, gets +1/+1 from twilight hunt, so...honorary dinosaur ?=P. Probably better than she looks in that it allows you to play all the aegis units in Feln (CoCu, Direwood pack, Heron, Plunk) while also suppressing enemy aegis, but that means you also need to play a decent amount of spells there, too.
Trade Secrets: probably wouldn't even be worth it if it played from the void. Draw from void is just hilariously bad.
Sashenka, Bound: tried putting it together with direwood pack, One Eye's Choice, and Savagery. The setup just takes too much space and does a whole bunch of nothing when the combo doesn't come together, and when it does, it may often be too late. Maybe there's some world in which a deck with multiple sources of P market access pulls a savagery out of there to get the combo going, but the base case is just so mediocre. One of those cases where the potential synergy just runs face first into the wall of "throne doesn't like 4-cost do-nothings". A potential splash in expedition where Nomshenka is concerned, but again, if you're handshaking Praxis Ramp into a midrange masher, you're probably getting the bad end of that.
Ominous Rift: Cozin Darkheart has always been a case of "not worth additional card slots to activate the mastery". Now that the buff comes from the power base, however, there are multiple options to immediately curve her into a dragon on swing, namely Syl's Stronghold, this card, and Ossuar Longbow. Outside of that, paying 4 to trigger a 2-cost renown doesn't feel good. DWD pulled this one IMO. At spellcraft 2, this would be little better than an ornate katana. At 4, well, why?
Misleading Guide: saw it once, and it definitely impressed. Stonescar go-wide queen decks are obviously interested in this card. The question is whether or not the meta is interested in those kinds of decks. Certainly, there's quite a bit of support already (rift siphon, grove supplier, bandit queen). Also potentially works in throne room to upgrade tripwire grenadin. Should definitely have a place.
Poison the Well: not many S decks want to hold up 3 power and pass. It's basically exactly Feln AAC. There would be more if Eclipse Dragon was a 5/5, but that's not the world we live in.
Spider Rider: eta this with display of destruction. Be happy. Not sure why DWD's pushing the sac archetype again, but...sac card is a sac card. If you renown this thing with a devour or a combust, it counts for 4 towards The Witching Hour, so there's that.
Chizue, Forging Bonds: even in expedition, I find it hard to believe anyone would want to run this over the combination of Ossuar Longbow and Foxfang Katars. In throne, you're probably off your rocker if you play this.
Execution Pit: IMO, the best card in the set. 2-cost "kill this thing" is pretty damn strong, but the BIG kicker is ELVISH SWINDLER. 5PP 3/4 elf summon: play a relic with cost 2 or less from your deck. Guess how much exceution pit costs. (2, by the way). Know what this means? It means that the floor on Elvish Swindler is 5PP 3/4 summon: kill a unit. Shadow Icaria got nerfed from 6 to 7 for that, and now, we have that kind of capability at 5 power, albeit with the downside of forcing you into 3F.
Lipa, Frogs of War: another terrific card doomed by her influence. Elysian is really, really bad right now owing to a horrific power situation, and if you're playing FTJ with a splash, you're probably better off with S for Dichro and Machinations. However, in the proper deck (think some sort of rats outfit), Lipa can be phenomenal. Also, one thing to note: unlike Shimmerpack, Lipa is not a straightforward symmetric effect. Your frogs fly, theirs don't. All in all, a terrific card brought down by her faction's power situation.
Interference From Beyond: do you have 4TTTT in Xenan? Play Curtain Call. Do you have access to J influence? Play stand together. Meh card is meh, but may still have the occasional use as a poor man's stand in something like bolstelifeforce that can't get the 4TTTT readily before it needs to be afraid of board wipes.
Canopy Archer: FJP is probably the worst faction for armory type stuff. Maybe some sort of benefit in renown to give the femur or reaper some extra armor, and then snowball off of that, but this card just strikes me as super-awkward.

2024.06.08 17:06 petershrimp What types of biomes do you think we might see in the future?

So far we have a meadow, a beach, a glade, a regular forest, a savanna, a tundra, a haunted/scary forest, ancient ruins, a desert, and a jungle. Let's go through and see if we can come up with some ideas for new ones, both realistic and more fanciful. Here are the ones I've been able to come up with after a bit of brainstorming:
-Volcano
-Cave
-Canyon
-City (this would be a bit tricky, but not impossible)
-Underwater (this would be even more tricky and probably limit what characters you're able to have with you)
-In the clouds
-The moon (or a similar celestial body)

2024.06.08 16:00 GoAheadMMDay Government cover-ups... excuses for war... World War 3 nears

They look for excuses to expand their power and influence. And when an excuse does not readily exist, they create one.
The Façade
Recent history confirms this. Let's review several cases over the last 130 years in chronological order.
■ At the end of the 19th century, the US wanted to expand its sphere of influence. In 1898, they sabotaged one of their own battleships, the USS Maine, in the harbour of Havana, Cuba, blaming it on the Spanish. US newspapers built the case for war, which was viewed as a pretext even at that time, as represented in the movie Citizen Kane.
From https://www.workers.org/2022/04/63411/ :
"A declassified CIA document written March 13, 1962, outlines Operation Northwoods, a plan for a U.S. attack on Cuba following its 1959 Revolution: (tinyurl.com/2p9cj7ek)"
"On page 11, during an outline of false-flag tactics, the CIA directly uses the phrase “a ‘Remember the Maine’ incident”, and follows with plans to intentionally blow up a U.S. ship to start a desired “war on communism”. Our revolutionary comrades in Cuba hold as official history that the 1898 incident was a planned, false-flag operation."
As a result of the sinking of the USS Maine, the US gained the port of Guantanamo in Cuba, Puerto Rico, and control of the Philippines as a foothold in the Orient. Note the theme... a covert act by government used as an excuse for war, and using the media to spread misinformation to gain public support.
■ Next example, WW1. England wanted to draw the US into the war for some badly needed support. So Winston Churchill, who was serving as First Lord of the British Admiralty, created the excuse the US needed to justify joining the war.
The English Channel was swarming with German submarines (U-boats), attacking British shipping. The British implemented shipping by convoy under protection of British warships. But on May 7, 1915, Churchill called-off naval protection for the RMS Lusitania, a British commercial liner with 123 Americans onboard, which was subsequently sunk by the Germans. "A ship sacrificed. Her innocent passengers, pawns in a cruel new era." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E0X01_RGcNE / https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NH11zZlppRY
The sinking turned American public opinion against Germany, and contributed to US entry into the war. "Remember the Lusitania" became a rallying cry repeated in the papers.
■ Next example, WW2. On the morning of December 7, 1941, the day Japanese planes attacked Pearl Harbor, a sequence of intelligence and messaging failures sealed the base's fate.
Prior to the attack: "Radio communications intelligence 'lost' the location of Japanese carriers." "Kimmel did not inform Short." "Washington issued 'War Warning' messages." "Anti-aircraft guns to protect Pearl Harbor were not deployed or had their ammunition locked up. No fighters were ready to engage a Japanese attack." https://www.nationalww2museum.org/waarticles/pearl-harbor-missed-tactical-warnings
The morning of the attack: Japanese submarine periscope sightings, dismissed. A huge wave of aircraft blips on radar, dismissed. Nervous phone calls from radar operators, dismissed. One desperate message was found "balled-up in a trash can". https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Radar_warning_of_Pearl_Harbor_attack
The Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor was not a "false-flag" event; it indeed happened, and Japan was indeed the perpetrator. But such readiness failures despite warnings give me the impression it was made just too easy for them, that the gate was left open.
Was Japan baited and lured into attacking Pearl Harbor by suggestions, whether private or public, that the American public did not want war, and the US government would simply cede territories in the Pacific? This theory has been in circulation since the war. https://www.britannica.com/topic/Pearl-Harbor-and-the-Back-Door-to-War-Theory-1688287
Whatever the cause, the US government got what it wanted... a reason to join the war.
■ Next example, sabotage proposals: The US Department of Defense proposed "Operation Northwoods" (cited in the 1st example above) to President Kennedy in 1962, outlining a number of "false flag" missions to make it seem the US had been attacked by Cuba. The proposal suggested the US government engage in "acts of terrorism against American military and civilian targets, blame them on the Cuban government, ... to justify a war against Cuba." Among the proposed acts of sabotage were shooting down a remote controlled aircraft painted as a US Air Force plane, blowing up an American ship (described above), and orchestrating acts of terrorism in US cities. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Northwoods
Other proposals: "Create an incident which has the appearance of an attack on US facilities in Cuba"; covert attacks on British Commonwealth member states Jamaica and Trinidad-Tobago to "incite the people of the United Kingdom into supporting a war against Castro"; and "bribe one of Castro's subordinate commanders to initiate an attack" against US Navy base Guantanamo. All such proposals were flatly rejected by President Kennedy. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Mongoose
■ Next example, Vietnam War. On August 2, 1964, US forces carrying out amphibious operations off the coast of North Vietnam were confronted by North Vietnamese troops. On August 4th, the US claimed it was attacked by North Vietnam. On August 7th, US Congress passed the Gulf of Tonkin Resolution, which gave newly installed President Johnson (less than one year after Kennedy was assassinated) legal justification to enter the Vietnam civil war.
But as Wikipedia explains: "Later investigation revealed that the second attack never happened." "The National Security Agency, an agency of the US Defense Department, had deliberately skewed intelligence to create the impression that an attack had been carried out." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gulf_of_Tonkin_incident
The US weapons industry had been wanting another war since the Korean War ended in 1953. But President Kennedy wasn't cooperating. After Kennedy was conveniently taken out of the way, Johnson got what he always wanted - the Presidency, while US weapons manufacturers got what they wanted - war.
■ Next example, US involvement in Iran-Iraq war 1980-88. In 1978-79, Iran’s religious revolution overthrew Iran’s king, the Shah of Iran. The new religious regime in Iran confiscated the oil fields and facilities of US oil companies operating in Iran.
The US oil barons called on the US government to get their oil fields back, citing US interests in controlling global oil flows. The US wasted no time attacking Iran immediately following the revolution, but not directly. Instead, the US backed the forces of Iraq in what became the Iran-Iraq war of 1980-88. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iran%E2%80%93Iraq_War
■ Next example, 1st Gulf War 1991. By the end of the Iran-Iraq war in 1988, the US had not been able to orchestrate Iran’s downfall, and thus had not been able to retake the oil fields it had lost in Iran. The US decided it needed to put its own troops in the Middle East and finish the job against Iran themselves.
But the US needed an excuse to station US troops in the Middle East close to Iran. So it created another pretext, making Iraq believe the US would not interfere in Iraq’s plans to invade Kuwait.
“On the 24 July [1990], U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for Public Affairs, Margaret Tutwiler, told journalists, "We do not have any defense treaties with Kuwait, and there are no special defense or security commitments to Kuwait.[10]" On the 25 July, Saddam Hussein held a meeting with American diplomat April Glaspie. During the interview, April said, "We have no opinion on the Arab-Arab conflicts, like your border disagreement with Kuwait," and, "We should express no opinion on this issue and that the issue is not associated with America.[11]" Some historians believe that these comments represented an unwitting green light of Iraq's invasion of Kuwait.” https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rationale_for_the_Gulf_War
On August 2, 1990, Iraq invaded Kuwait. On January 16, 1991, the US launched Operation Desert Strom against Iraq in what is now called the 1st Gulf War.
■ Next example, 911. I know, I know. People have been refuting a US cover-up since day 1. I'm not going to sidetrack into that debate here. All I will say is... both Trade Center towers and the Pentagon had been recently renovated, the work of which is difficult to ascertain and still secret. Everything else has already been extensively debated on the web; I'll just leave it there.
The main question concerning 911 has always been, "Would US agencies commit acts of terrorism against their own cities as a pretext for war?" Given the scenarios presented in operations Northwoods and Mongoose cited above, the answer to that question is, "Yes."
For more evidence that 911 was a planned American operation, see my other post: https://www.reddit.com/conspiracy_posts/comments/1daih25/warnings_of_911_in_back_to_the_future/
■ Next example, false claim of WMD in Iraq. In late 2002, US intelligence presented grainy satellite images of what appeared to be military trucks and supply depots in Iraq. They claimed the trucks and depots hid weapons of mass destruction. Congress gave the military permission to attack Iraq, which it did in March 2003. And behold... there were no weapons of mass destruction in Iraq.
David Kay, Head of Iraq Survey Group, later blamed the false claim on "a lack of human agents inside Iraq in the months before the war", and "analysts being under pressure to draw conclusions". https://www.sipri.org/commentary/essay/2023/twenty-years-ago-iraq-ignoring-expert-weapons-inspectors-proved-be-fatal-mistake
What did the US get out of 911 and the false WMD claim? Excuses to invade Afghanistan and Iraq... neither country of which ever had any involvement with 911.
The official reason for entering Afghanistan was to capture Osama Bin Laden. Yet after OBL was killed in 2011, the US remained in Afghanistan until 2021. Why did the US remain in Afghanistan for an additional 10 years? Because Afghanistan borders Iran.
■ Iran has always been the principal target of interest. The US oil barons have been eyeing Iran since its religious revolution of 1978-79, which confiscated the properties and facilities of US oil companies operating there.
The US wasted no time attacking Iran immediately following the revolution, backing Iraq in the Iran-Iraq war of 1980-88. But the US realized it wasn't going to get Iran without direct US involvement. 911 and the false WMD claim gave the US excuses to plant troops on either side of Iran - in Iraq on the west, and Afghanistan on the east.
After removing Saddam Hussein from power in Iraq in 2003, the US remained there, fighting groups backed by Iran. This was followed by the conflict in Syria starting in 2011 and still ongoing, with the West fighting Iranian-backed groups there as well.
From the Iran-Iraq war of 1980-88, to post-Hussein Iraq, to Syria from 2011 onward, the US has been engaged in a 40-year proxy war against Iran. What has been only a proxy war until now is poised to turn into a direct conflict soon, as tensions between Israel and Iran continue to escalate.
The Rehearsal
Preparations for war require more than just fabricating excuses, but also conditioning the population. This includes spreading misinformation, controlling the judiciary, and displaying intimidating force. Trump's presidency worked on all three.
Trump's term in office was a dress rehearsal in spreading misinformation and manipulating the news, principally through Fox News and a large number of conservative talk shows across the country.
"Fox News has been described by academics, media figures, political figures, and watchdog groups as being biased in favor of the Republican Party in its news coverage, as perpetuating conservative bias, and as misleading their audience in relation to science, notably climate change and the COVID-19 pandemic." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fox_News_controversies
Additional charges against Fox News include spreading misinformation regarding the 2020 election results.
The paper "What is Fox News? Partisan Journalism, Misinformation, and the Problem of Classification" - a collaborative work by several university academics - questions "the idea that Fox should be considered a news source in the first place, claiming it should be considered something more akin to propaganda". https://journals.sagepub.com/doi/pdf/10.1177/19312431211060426
Trump's presidency was also a dress rehearsal in influencing the judiciary, filling the courts with loyalists to promote the group's causes, including overthrowing Roe v Wade. This will come in handy when the time comes to suspend other rights and freedoms, including the constitution.
Then came COVID. That was a dress rehearsal to practice locking down entire countries, suspending rights and freedoms en masse.
They also practiced displaying force by mobilizing militias and gun activist groups behind the insurrection of Janurary 6, 2021, intimidating voters at election sites, and shooting at protestors. They even practiced defending their obedient shooters, ie: the shooter who showed up at a protest rally with a full-sized rifle, killed a protestor, and was later exonerated on grounds of self-defense. What a joke.
The Actors
So what's next? They're already working on their excuse for WW3 in the Middle East. Look at what's happening in Israel and Palestine. And now they have a new excuse for US presence in the Persian Gulf - attacks on shipping. Attacks against shipping in the region have been occurring for decades. Why are they reacting so strongly now when they didn't before? Because both these conflicts allow the US to strike at Iranian allies: Hamas in Palestine, and the Houthi in Yemen.
I'm not saying atrocities should be ignored. I am asking why the West focuses on some atrocities and not others. There are plenty of atrocities taking place in Africa, Asia, and Latin America in which the US never gets involved. But when anything happens that gets their troops close to Iran, they're there.
The West has been fighting Iran in one arena after another ever since the Iranian revolution. The recent conflicts in Palestine and the Persian Gulf are just the latest excuses to position forces in the Middle East. They've been there since 1980, and will remain there until they are ready to attack Iran directly. It will be an allied invasion, composed of the US, the UK, Israel and Russia (which borders Iran to the north).
Russia is allied with this "group" we've been talking about here. Recall the glowing accolades Trump showered on Putin. Recall the assistance Russia gave to Trump in the 2016 election. https://www.fbi.gov/wanted/cyberussian-interference-in-2016-u-s-elections
Trump even asked the Russians to find Hillary Clinton's emails. Why would Trump ask Russia to find US government emails unless he knew they were hacking US government computers? Why ask Russia and not US law enforcement? Why Russia and not another country? Because Trump knew Russia would help him. https://www.pbs.org/newshoupolitics/trump-asked-russia-to-find-clintons-emails-on-or-around-the-same-day-russians-targeted-her-accounts / https://www.vox.com/2020/9/29/21493319/trump-russia-if-youre-listening-comments-rewrite-history
Recall also how Trump kept denouncing NATO, challenging it, threatening to withdraw the US from it, weakening it from within. The intent was to make it easier for Putin to take Ukraine and other former Soviet territories in Eastern Europe. Had Trump won in 2020, Putin would have been free to achieve his ultimate objective of rebuilding the USSR. All handed to Putin in exchange for helping Trump get elected, and for Russia's participation in the up-coming war against Iran. Fathom that. After all the effort Ronald Reagan put into dismantling the Soviet Union, Trump would help Putin rebuild it.
Notice too how Koch Industries, the 2nd largest private company in America with over $125 billion in annual revenue, refuses to observe US sanctions against Russia, and has continued doing business in Russia. The Koch brothers have also refused to denounce Putin's invasion of Ukraine. Koch's ties with Russia go back to the 1930's, where their father, Fred C. Koch, made fortunes building oil refineries. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fred_C._Koch
Today, Koch Industries engages in a range of industrial enterprises. A severe polluter of the environment, Koch Industries finances misinformation denying climate change, buying political influence to fight environmental legislation. The brothers' political influence supporting conservative politicians and conservative think tanks has been described as "overwhelming". https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Koch_Brothers_Exposed
President Eisenhower identified another player pushing the world toward war, which he called "the military-industrial complex", a cluster of industries that benefit from war. They need war to clear-out their inventories so they can produce more weapons. They prosper from armed conflict, and thus influence politicians to pursue war. As Eisenhower warned in his farewell address to his nation, "We must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence by the military-industrial complex. The potential for the disastrous rise of misplaced power exists." https://www.archives.gov/milestone-documents/president-dwight-d-eisenhowers-farewell-address
Another major actor in this drama is big-oil, which benefitted from US control of Iraq and its oil fields, and is salivating over the prospect of regaining control of Iranian oil fields. And big-pharma, which benefitted from government money for COVID vaccines, but then refused "to waive intellectual property rights and share vaccine technology" with developing countries, "fuelling an unprecedented human rights crisis". https://www.amnesty.org/en/latest/news/2021/09/new-report-shows-leading-covid-19-vaccine-pharma-companies-fuelling-unprecedented-human-rights-crisis
And who else belongs to this cast but Elon Musk, who not only defended Putin's invasion, but also cut-off Starlink's satellite service in Ukraine to prevent Ukraine's military from launching satellite-guided missiles to defend themselves against Russian attacks.
Not all conservatives belong to this malicious group; the vast majority do not. The conservative camp has become divided into two broad clans: the “middle-right” and “far-right”. I use “clans” because the two groups do not get along.
The middle-right are reasonable, cooperative, respectful of the law, devoted to the order of government, and committed to building the nation for the benefit of all its citizens.
The far-right, though, are radical in their dealings. They are divisive, they lie profusely, they incite violence, they threaten other members of congress, they are disruptive to orderly government and international cooperation, they do not know the meaning of "compromise" which is essential to keeping the nation united, they are unreasonable.
The “directors” of this drama are from this far-right clan. These directors manipulate the actors from behind the scenes. They put the various actors on stage and in the spotlight to sway and stir the audience, while they themselves hide behind the curtains. The script they follow has been decades in the making, and is about to reach its climax.
The Script
All this until now has been in preparation for what is to come, regardless of who wins the next US election or any election after it. Remember, political leaders are only figureheads. They are just servants providing this group of directors with important services, and to sway the public to support their causes.
When they are ready to launch their plans for World War 3, something will happen (real or faked - perhaps a radioactive "dirty bomb" detonation on US soil) that will prompt another lockdown similar to the one we "practiced" under COVID. Only this time, it will last much, much longer. The freedom of the press will be suspended, and so will the constitution. Our freedoms will be removed again, but this time it may be permanent.
If you throw a piece of wood into the water, it will rise to the surface. But if you sink that wood deep enough under water, it will not rise up anymore. Why? Because the water pressure grows more powerful the deeper you go. The weight of the water prevents the wood from rising up. This is why pieces of shipwrecks stay on the ocean floor.
Civilization as we know it is about to become shipwrecked. Society recovered from COVID because the interruption was brief. It was like a piece of wood that never sank deep enough, and so rose to the surface again.
But this time, they will keep civil liberties suppressed for a very long time; years. Suppress something long enough and it will not rise up again. They are getting ready to shut us down, and it will be a shutdown from which society will never recover. We will forget the press. We will forget elections. We will forget owning property and money. They just have to keep things suppressed long enough for people to forget them. A decade should do it.
Now we know why e-money is so heavily promoted and being so quickly adopted. Anyone protesting the new regime will be erased from society via user-specific digital shutdowns. Barred from transacting, investing, buying or selling. Cards deactivated, crypto seized, bank accounts emptied.
No? Have we forgotten Cyprus 2013? Well, it has been a decade.
The next phase of the plan for World War 3 is ready to come into effect, regardless of who takes power in the US - Republican or Democrat. The US entered existing wars and started wars of its own regardless of who was in power. Remember, a president is not the real power behind government. Actual power lies in the hands of the directors behind the curtains who control the actors they put on stage.
Joseph Cafariello
PS...
So how can we endure what is coming? Better still, how can we avoid it?
One word... truth.
All the turmoil and chaos we are experiencing come from deceptions, distortions, and lies. What they build on lies, we can demolish with truth.
Everything built on lies is unstable, since lies shift like sand. Whereas truth is stable and constant, and cannot be destroyed.
Embrace only truth, reject lies. Speak only truth, abandon lies. Receive only those who come to us with truth, dismiss those who deliver lies.
Remove the façade and expose the actors who try to deceive us. Reveal what has been concealed, uncover what has been covered, speak what has been hushed.
Only then will we have a better world, a stable world, a world built on truth, a world of freedom. Because lies enslave those who believe them, whereas truth sets us free.

Also, I have only been using Berry compliant webbing and no I have not found waifu webbing that is Berry compliant. Yet.

2024.06.08 06:06 Adventurous_Elk6458 Relative newcomer Steel question

Sorry if this has been asked before- I quickly checked and didn’t see a specifically relevant post.
I’ve got my starter factory built producing everything up to Steel products in the rocky desert with a caterium and quartz outpost. I’m now looking to expand into steel for the first time.
I am using the 3 pure coal/iron nodes near the waterfall/lake in the Eastern portion of the rocky desert- giving me 360 ore per minute on each.
The splitting into foundries would be simple if I had mk.3 belts but I’m still stuck on 120/min belts for now and am struggling with how to feed my 3 120/min lines of iron and coal into the 8 foundries using and producing 45/min on both inputs and the outputs. Any help/suggestions are greatly appreciated!
ps I also pulled 2 normal limestone nodes into a mk.2 belt and have that belted into the steel foundry area. Too much/too little?

2024.06.08 05:07 Y_Nekat Cursory List of Biomancer Creations: [Bioconstructs (Army)]

An incomplete list of terrestrial Bioconstructs used by the Imperial Army.
Sentinels - Tetrapodal Bioconstructs based off the Dunkleosteus, with roles analogous to cavalry or guard dog.
Originally created as a cost-effective method of warding off predatory wildlife. The first Sentinels were made with components designed decades prior for a natural history exhibit.
The Bioconstructs were later repurposed by the Imperial Military after successful deployment of "Meatsuit" Bioconstructs generated renewed interest in biothaumatology. Becoming the first autonomous Bioconstruct to enter service.
Having proven to be a rugged and somewhat reliable chassis, the Sentinels were often used as testbeds for armor and other novel features. With some being converted for use by the Navy in anti-cetacean roles. They were upgraded over the course of the war, until their obsolescence became too glaringly obvious to ignore.
Notable Specimens Include: Felix, Tarrare
Equisapiens - Bipedal Bioconstructs utilized as shock troops.
As cheap and expendable Bioconstructs, the Equisapiens were created to fulfil the role of cannon fodder. They were deployed ahead of their human counterparts during offensive factions to absorb enemy fire. A useful feature in a war of attrition.
The simplicity of the average Equisapien meant it was also the first Bioconstruct to be mass-produced by Familiars. Utilizing a process that converted a dead or dying horse into a viable Bioconstruct in as few steps as possible. This process did not grant the Bioconstruct any grasping appendages, so specimens attacked by closing distance and punching the target.
Some notable steps of the process include: conversion to bipedalism, fusing the jaw shut, truncating the skull, shortening of "arms", installation of whistle (command variant only), and addition of bone plating on chest.
The Equisapien was produced throughout the first phase of the war, with units becoming more sophisticated as the means of production evolved. Only to abruptly shut down in part due to a cessation in military activity halting the supply of affordable horse flesh.
Notable Specimens Include: Newcastle, Salutation
Waddling Gunners - Anatine mobile weapon platforms.
The Waddling Gunners are Bioconstructs developed to reduce material attrition from counter-battery fire. Featuring webbed feet and oily exteriors, they're able to quickly relocate after firing without succumbing to the effects of a damp and muddy hellscape. Many find this gait to be endearing.
Specimens are able to mount a variety of light and medium weapons. Ranging from machine guns and mortars to howitzers and multiple launch rocket systems.
Every specimen is usually in some way tailored to their respective weapon. Machine gun carriers will use blood for barrel cooling. Howitzer units are fitted with a recoil spade and mechanical leg braces to manage weight. AT gunners can enchant their munitions to home in on targets.
More advanced Gunners can remotely synchronize with other specimens to share trajectory data and fire in unison. Effectively acting as an autonomous artillery battery.
Notable Specimens Include: Slow Otto
Grenadiers/Stormers - Simian Bioconstructs utilized as shock troops.
Conceived as a way to enhance the impact of Equisapien charges, the Grenadier was created to accompany its comparatively unarmed peers into combat. Unleashing its payload upon the enemy before retreating.
Every Grenadier possesses the ability to rearrange its upper musculoskeletal structure for either mobility (simian) or projectile usage (human). The latter of which renders the Bioconstruct temporarily vulnerable to attack as it is effectively immobilized by shortened limbs.
The Stormer by contrast, is a development of the Grenadier that exchanges projectile specialization for natural armor and improved dexterity. Being less fragile than the Grenadier, its purpose is to engage in close quarters combat in enclosed spaces such as bunkers. The Stormer is often armed with a pistol, submachine gun, or knife, in addition to an inferior sum of grenades.
Aside from minor improvements and changes to armor composition, neither Bioconstruct deviated much from their base design over the course of the war.
Grenadiers are notably the first type of Bioconstruct to demand payment for their services, a behavior that later spread to the Familiars. They are compensated in chicken bones.
Reavers - A horde on demand. Ephemeral, insectoid goop.
First conceptualized as a mine-clearing Bioconstruct that could detonate landmines by simply stepping on them. The Reaver was redesignated as a shock trooper after it became apparent the Bioconstruct also excelled at trampling barbed wire and absorbing high-velocity metal. It was used as a cheaper alternative to the Equisapiens.
Unlike other Bioconstructs, the Reaver can be made with essentially any source of protein, provided rigid material is introduced for structure. This had the side effect of vastly reducing its longevity, with a lifespan of up to 30 minutes under combat conditions. After which it experiences a catastrophic loss of integrity and dissolves into a puddle of toxic goop near enemy lines, substantially worsening their living conditions.
Used properly, it was like a flesh tsunami. A mindless mass of cannibalistic insectoids that absorbed and converted the biomass of those who fell before it into minutes of additional carnage.
However, the Reaver was considered obsolete after only a couple months due to several undesirable characteristics. Primarily the fact that the sheer amount of mana required to animate protein goo into a Reaver horde was an obvious indicator that foreshadowed the start of any assault. Prompting enemy forces to preemptively deploy chemical weapons. Devastating against a creation with no skin.
The reliance on magic also introduced a weakness, namely the mage directing the horde. Who suddenly became an obvious target for SEAD.
A version of the Reaver was created after the "Interwar" period as an antitank weapon. It functioned by racing towards a target, wrapping itself around the vehicle, and self-immolating.
The equipment necessary for Reaver animation is still in service for urban warfare applications, a role it excels at.
Operators - Shapeless Bioconstructs specializing in the operation of machinery.
Pushed into service as a replacement for human crews, the Operators are amorphous Bioconstructs that adapt to improve compatibility with the vehicles they inhabit. Representing a reversal of the ergonomic paradigm where traditionally a mechanical implement is designed to accommodate the user. This has resulted in the development of "pancake" tanks, low profile combat vehicles impossible for a human crew to operate.
The typical Operator also features: improved situational awareness, self-maintenance, thaumaturgic capabilities, and symbiote integration.
Unlike human crews, the Operator integrates with its "shell" on a physiological level. Resulting in a cohesive unit that is reluctant to separate.
Kobolds - Kleptomaniacal trench raiders.
As a diminutive, humanoid Bioconstruct even more fragile than the Grenadiers. The Kobolds were developed for one purpose, theft.
When deployed as intended, the Kobolds will accompany a raiding party to enemy trenches. Sneaking into vital areas to pilfer any documents they could find.
The humanoid design of the Bioconstruct was regarded with great concern by the Oversight Committee due to a potential breach of contract regarding prohibition of Homunculi. Triggering an investigation that backfired and weakened its influence.
Kobolds are paid shiny objects (typically polished coins) for captured documents.
Raptors - Flightless trench raiders.
Created for the purpose of nocturnal surprise attacks, the Raptors are stealthy Bioconstructs inspired by the anatomy of ratites. They compose the majority of Bioconstructs sent on night raids.
Their intended purpose has also resulted in their use as testbeds for several types of experimental silent weapons. Including an electrical organ, venomous darts, and integrated subsonic projectiles. One notable result of experimentation is the Poppycock variant, which overdoses enemy guards with powerful opioids.
The Raptor was also used to test PSYWAR developments, namely a voice mimicry module.
Notable Specimens Include: Forest Rocket
Shamirs - Vermal Bioconstructs used for tunneling.
A makeshift Bioconstruct rushed into production for a major military counteroffensive. Intended use was rapid excavation of trenches to solidify territorial gains and other sapper duties.
The Shamirs were never deployed.
Varroa - Varroid mobile weapon platforms.
Conceptualized as an alternative to the Waddling Gunner, the Varroa have the advantage of lower profiles, increased armor, and higher weight capacity. At the cost of inferior natural accuracy (which can be improved with symbiotes), and difficulty traversing certain types of terrain.
Unlike the Waddling Gunners, which mount weaponry more or less directly to the chassis. The Varroa instead mount weaponry as self-contained modules on its superstructure. Allowing for a damaged weapon to be quickly switched out. The Varroa also possess the ability to jump.
Improved survivability means Varroa often engage targets from point-blank range. This has resulted in the creation of: flamethrower variants, firefighting variants, and CHEMWAR variants. Notably including one version that sprays neurotoxic foam.
Radiation-proofed Varroa can directly confront Soviet Kondensators and other sources of intense, directed radiation.
Trap-Jaw Hounds - Tetrapodal Bioconstructs analogous to guard dogs.
Rushed into service as part of a time-sensitive contract with the Imperial Navy, the Trap-Jaw Hound was a replacement for the Bantam Sentinel after it became apparent the latter was unable to handle the arid climate of the Southern Continent.
The defining feature of this Bioconstruct is its beak, which can deliver a bite capable of piercing personal shields. The head is compartmentalized to reduce mechanical stress incurred from each bite. With eyes being offset in separate protrusions located on opposite sides of the head. The modular design is easy to repair.
The Trap-Jaw Hound was the first Bioconstruct to be classified as "Continental" (K) under the new regional clarification system. Which also retroactively classified most previous Bioconstruct designs not associated with the Underfleet as "Mainlander" (F).
Macropalpis - Acarine mobile weapon platforms.
Designed with the assistance of Familiars, the Macropalpis are some of the fastest Bioconstructs to ever exist. Being created to rapidly traverse the desert with novel movement techniques, albeit at the cost of armor and weight capacity.
Unlike its Varroa counterparts, the Macropalpis possess a high profile and a higher leap.
Canary Carriers - Bioconstruct missile half-track.
Evolving from Operator-controlled rocket artillery, the Canary Carrier is a distinct Bioconstruct specially designed to interface with Canaries. A miniature Turtledove variant named for the yellow colouration resultant from cross-contamination with manufacturing processes for their TNT warhead.
Standard operational procedure for Canary Carriers is to park in a concealed position and fire a salvo of Canaries before relocation. The Canaries are launched directly upwards, whereupon they will "swing" 90 degrees to properly locate and engage enemy targets.

2024.06.08 00:19 AdvertisingPurple759 Interesting quote about how our ancestors viewed war (repost)

This is a passage from the book of a 19th century French explorer, which shows the way in which the Ethiopians of that time viewed war and which I find very interesting. They had this discussion after campaigning against the Oromos. He was with Gojjam's army so it was probably with Ethiopians from Gojjam that he had this discussion.
Here is the passage in question:
"When I explained to them our way of fighting, they understood the terrible effects, but returning to us the reproach addressed to them by their neighbours the Gallas, regarding their own tactics, they treated ours as brutal and found it reprehensible that peoples Christian, so civilised, could cause so many victims in their wars.
"Your rifles," they said, "are cursed inventions, which must often serve among you the designs of Satan, who preferably seeks to pervert the will of the strong."
The generous idea of banishing war from among men seems to be a utopia. In any case, until it is realised, it is good to consider war as the most important function of man after that of providing food; and in this respect the point of view from which the Ethiopians consider and organise it, and the effects it has on them, are worthy of mention.
It has been said in Europe that declaring war on a nation is tantamount to condenining it to death. This is the principle of the Muslims, and we know the rigors that victory inspires in them. The Ethiopians, who are less barbarous in theory, say that war is almost always an expiation caused by the sins of men; that in any case, since our vision is usually too limited to grasp the whole range of relations which produce it, it is proper to limit the shedding of blood to the right of exact retaliation. They do not admit that the perfection and multiplicity of destructive devices, by making wars more deadly, make them shorter, more decisive and less frequent.
"War," they say, "can hardly be declared or waged without passion, and under this influence man finds it all the more difficult to restrain himself because he has more effective means of action at his disposal. It is dangerous to increase one's power to such an extent that one ceases to fear the power of one's fellow men. Blood is intoxicating, and the more one spills, the more one is trained to spill it."
One day some natives, having listened attentively to the story of the marvels accomplished by our arms under Napoleon I, told me that everywhere we fight and everywhere we destroy each other; and they congratulated theniselves that, since their nation had not made war a profession and a science like the European nations, there was not the distinction which exists among us, between those who are initiated into the profession of arms and those who are not.
They added that unfortunately they practice castration on the battlefield, but that we in Europe practice an even more disastrous moral castration by degrading the citizen of whom we make an irresponsible soldier, and by degrading the soldier from whom we take away his status as a citizen. It was hard for them to understand that we could have a code of military law and a code of civil law at the same time.
"God has given even to animals," they said, "the organs necessary to provide for their subsistence as well as to defend it; both acts are as legitimate and natural as each other. Why cut off some people's teeth and claws and let others grow them ? It is dangerous for a country. Your way of raising armies may be good, but our people would not accept it. Furthermore, it seems that the whole world is heading towards its downfall, because we are imitating you with our bands of "wottoadders", people without homes and places, who have abandoned their homes and deserted their past to live on chance and plunder."
It was a bit long but I find this passage so interesting...
Since last time I was asked for the title of the book: "Twelve years in upper Ethiopia"
There is no "academic" translation of the book, all the translations that I have seen have been made by amateurs (this can be seen in the construction of the sentences), for those who are nevertheless interested the least bad I found (on kindle):

Behold, the smart Ak
Recently bought an multi purpose device called “The Administrator” by Pancake Customs. It comes with the electronic sensor, removable chronograph readecharging unit, an RJ12 cable, and the main ammo counter itself. All it does is count up or down ammo up to 9999, can chronograph bbs, has 10 different styles to show how much ammo is left with the preset determined by you, has a rechargeable battery, shows a battery indicator on the top right of the screen, has a replaceable protector screen if it gets worn out, can mount any kind of additional 14mm ccw device such as a tracer unit, can change background and UI colors, and is encased by a 3d printed shell which is PLA+. The thread of the electric sensor itself to mount onto a barrel is also 14mm ccw. Anything else I haven’t mentioned can be found on their website call Pancake Customs based in the UK. Some reasons I’ve bought this was because for ammo counters, I’ve seen people use only the Tachyon Electronics ammo counter, and I wanted to see what other options are available on the market which wasn’t many for a niche category. Another reason was because it’s multi purpose being a customizable ammo counter, chronograph/rps reader, and the cable it uses being a RJ12 cable is more appealing to look at compared to positive and negative cables that are heat shrink wrapped on the additional sensor from Tachyon Electronics but that’s my opinion. Not to mention, “The Administrator” comes with everything needed for the features mentioned above without having to buy additional parts unlike the Tachyon Electronics ammo counter. The few last photos was to show new hats being an all around soft Velcro hat which I’ve mounted 3d printed cat ears also by Pancake Customs and a some cat patches on front/back. Also on the back has reflective visible cat eyes in bright orange. The other hat is an American produced night desert camo boonie from 1986. Anyways, that’s all for now, and thanks for reading :)
