I need some opinions on taking one of your kids on a trip, while the other stays home.
Backstory: I have two kids, 22m apart, ages 8 and 6. My 6yo was born prematurely and was in the NICU for almost two months, so from the beginning (through no fault of his own), he’s needed more time and attention at times. I’ve worked very hard to make sure I’m never comparing them, once little brother came home I was mindful of things like, “Not now little brother, I’m helping big brother,” and would choose big brother every time I could when LB was a baby. We do a lot together the three of us now, but it’s still sometimes hard because LB is still too little for some things that BB would enjoy (water parks for example). I always try to spend one day in the summer with each of the boys just the two of us to give them my undivided attention. But at home, LB needs more help and support, and that typically falls on me, so sometimes I feel like BB gets the short stick, no matter how mindful I am.
BB had made some comments that he wanted to go to a beach for a vacation (like FL, we live in the Midwest). For my birthday, my mom offered to pay for BB and me to take a 3 night 4 day vacation, just the two of us, and she said when LB gets to age 8, she’ll pay for him and I to do our own trip. I started planning a trip to Orlando. I’m excited and think it will be a great time to just devote my undivided attention to BB doing things he enjoys. I’ve talked to my husband about the trip, and once I said I was leaning towards a trip to Orlando, he told me it was so shitty to go on a big trip like that without LB. That if he were LB he’d be jealous and upset and he made me feel so guilty about it. LB will miss me and BB, but at the same time, I feel like this would be such a special trip for BB and me, since I hardly ever get to devote just my full time and attention to BB. (Example: a few weekends ago we went to a local hotel for a staycation and I was with LB the whole time in the lazy river or hot tub. BB either had to hang/play with us, or was with dad for the 15 total minutes dad was in the pool). Husband says I need to plan something closer, within driving distance, for the weekend.
What are your thoughts as an outsider looking in?

- General gaming like World of Warcraft but would like to play newer games.

- Around 1k
When do you plan on building/buying the PC? Note: beyond a week or two from today means any build you receive will be out of date when you want to buy.
- Whenever we can. We don't mind if the build is out of date by a couple weeks.
What, exactly, do you need included in the budget? (ToweOS/monitokeyboard/mouse/etc)
- OS, Monitor, keyboard, mouse is taken care of. The build in pcpartpicker has a cpu cooler that we already have from a while ago so it doesn't count towards the full cost.
Which country (and state/province) will you be purchasing the parts in? If you're in US, do you have access to a Microcenter location?
- US with no close microcenters
If reusing any parts (including monitor(s)/keyboard/mouse/etc), what parts will you be reusing? Brands and models are appreciated.

Extra info or particulars:TLDR: I'm making a build for a family member and they need it to be around 1k. The cooler has been sitting around in their house and they want to use it, It doesn't count towards the actual cost so the build is around 1050. The case is non negotiable for them because they really want good aesthetics.

Intro: 8 years ago I built a high-end video editing & gaming PC, and I was very into PC hardware at the time. Since then, I stopped paying attention and have no clue what's good and bad these days. I also game way less now.
I'm downsizing from a home to an apartment, so form factor is super important to me. I'm shooting for mini-itx like build, where I can easily pick up the PC and move it around, and that I can fit onto a desk next to my monitor(s) easily.
Should be able to drive 2 4k monitors.
My dream would be to re-use the SSD in my current PC for a relatively seamless transition. Or at least transfer it over to the new generation of NVMe ones (I have a 1TB samsung evo rn with a 4TB HDD that I'll get rid of).

- Robbie Zukauskas plays tenor saxophone and played with the U.S. Army Band and the Florida National Guard Band. Robbie studied music at the University of Central Florida.

Hello, I am 25M vegetarian and lead a relatively normal life. However I have several issues that seem to degrade quality of life. They seem connected but not sure.
For additional context, I have taken several blood tests over the course of the last 6 years and mostly have seen Vitamin D & B12, Iron deficiencies (I have tried taking supplements for several months, didn't seem to have much effect day-to-day, but subsequent blood tests improved). Normal Thyroid. Suspected high cortisol (have some fat and hair buildup on my back): was also normal. My most recent blood tests had low testosterone and HDL was lower and triglycerides and nonHDL were high. insulin high as well. But shown the results to a physician assistant and they didn't have any input other than a referral for weight management.
No particular diagnoses or supplements. Some Ashwagandha occasionally.
Hoping anyone can give me some pointers that I can work on and maybe take to my local physician. Thank you.

- Foot pain: Initially went to a Podiatrist and was prescribed insoles for mild flat feet. Did not work and severe pain persisted. Still persists today, but I came to realize that the pain is coming from foot cramps. The pain felt similar to a cramp but I never made the connection. I get severe foot cramps even if I do very little exercise or walking. Timeline: ~ 4years
- During the timeline of 1., I also thought a lot of my problems were led by dehydration and then ,later found out that it could be a possible cause of the foot pain. However, I have been ensuring before and after the pain that I drink enough water a day. I pee more often that required and its usually not dark. Timeline: ~2 years
- Excessive weight gain: I usually eat a little more than the average person, but nowhere close to justifying my weight gain. I used to be much thinner when i was younger and have gained much weight since then. I am unable to lose this despite bouts of significant exercise and diet control. I am also limited by low stamina and the foot pain. Timeline: ~8 years.
- Numbing: My arms and legs get extremely easily numbed out. Any small weight placed on my leg/abdomen when I sleep leads to numbness quite easily. It is actually quite severe. Timeline: Quick numbness has been there for several years but last few years have been worse.
- Get tired and lose focus easily: This has been a general theme for several years. I am able to concentrate and get things done in small pockets of time. Timeline: Been there for several years but got worse in the last few years.
- Hearing: My hearing has been getting a little worse. I occasionally hear some hight pitched noise and I read that it may be the Cochlea dying or sth? But definitely been getting a little worse. Timeline: ~4 years.
- Had a viral infection ~1.5 years back, and when I was infected a few spots behind my head and ear enlarged. Not sure why, and the doctor at the time ignored it. It shrunk about 70%, but has remained the same size for quite some time.
- Protein intake: Tried taking protein shakes/bars to increase my intake due to my vegetarian diet: seemed to get more drowsy and sleepy quickly, so I stopped.
For additional context, I have taken several blood tests over the course of the last 6 years and mostly have seen Vitamin D & B12, Iron deficiencies (I have tried taking supplements for several months, didn't seem to have much effect day-to-day, but subsequent blood tests improved). Normal Thyroid. Suspected high cortisol (have some fat and hair buildup on my back): was also normal. My most recent blood tests had low testosterone and HDL was lower and triglycerides and nonHDL were high. insulin high as well. But shown the results to a physician assistant and they didn't have any input other than a referral for weight management.
No particular diagnoses or supplements. Some Ashwagandha occasionally.
Hoping anyone can give me some pointers that I can work on and maybe take to my local physician. Thank you.

Before submitting a comment about an issue, the #1 thing any user should do when they first experience issues with a new update is to follow these troubleshooting steps.
If issues still persist despite the efforts made in this thread, report the issue to cricut.
Calibrate your machine right after an update as your calibration settings will not carry over into the latest update. Follow the advice of the calibration guide. Then do a test print then cut of your project using plain printer paper.
If for some reason after calibration your cuts are still inaccurate, clear cache (the troubleshooting guide above this) and try calibration again.
If you are experiencing issues despite clearing cache, please give some background information:
- Cricut machine (Joy, Joy Xtra, Explore Air 2, Explore air 3, Maker, Maker 3, etc.).
- Device (Windows 10, Window 11, Mac, iPhone, iPad, Android).
- Type of project you were attempting to do. (Basic cut, print then cut, drawing, foiling, scoring, etc.)
- Were you successful in doing this project in the past? Or is this a new project?

Fixed field issues: This release
Last 6 weeks:
- The ability to customize the Card project enables users to select specific sizes and personalize them according to their preferences.
- After disabling specific contours, the bounding box encloses the remaining ones within the Canvas.
- Images not uploading.
- Upon selecting, it appears that some of the ‘Make It Now’ projects in the Canvas have disappeared.
- Right-clicking and selecting “View image sets” from the Layers panel often displays irrelevant images.
Over the last 6 weeks we've fixed 74 software defects, including the following priority field issues and reliability concerns:
- Draw projects are being opened as cuts instead of drawings, resulting in a color change.
- The ability to customize the Card project enables users to select specific sizes and personalize them according to their preferences.
- After disabling specific contours, the bounding box encloses the remaining ones within the Canvas.
- Images not uploading.
- Upon selecting, it appears that some of the ‘Make It Now’ projects in the Canvas have disappeared.
- Right-clicking and selecting “View image sets” from the Layers panel often displays irrelevant images.
- Selecting certain fonts in the font selection process is causing delays in rendering on the Canvas
- The text box fails to load on the Canvas, and adding a text field in Chinese is not possible
- Changes made to the latest project are lost upon sharing.
- Save a project on iOS, then open it on desktop, and notice that the changes fail to appear.
-After completing the cut with Print Then Cut and Basic Cut operations attached, the mat remains unloaded.
- The Canvas tab disappears and it takes longer for the Canvas tab to load.
- The saved project only shows letters on the Canvas, but double-tapping the text box reveals the entire sentences.
- After finishing cutting the mat that's off-screen, the scrollbar scrolled back to the top instead of moving to the next mat.
- My Stuff doesn't show any projects, and the collection is displayed without a name.
- Follow button is not working on profile page
- Profile links that are copied and pasted shows Blank home page.
- Forever stuck on the project details page, with both the customize and make buttons greyed out.
- Print Then Cut images appear distorted or the print preview is not accurate
- Print Then Cut images did not appear correctly on the cut screen.
- The Print Then Cut quality warning message is preventing the user from proceeding to make it.
- Clicking "View All" on recent uploads either redirects to the Inspire/Discover page or results in the inability to access the full set of uploaded images.
- The Canvas performance drastically slows down when inserting high-quality uploaded images.
- The functionality of the automatic background remover has stopped working.
- Uploaded high-resolution images, those above 300 DPI, are displaying low-resolution warnings.
- When uploading an image with a resolution exceeding 300 DPI, it undergoes downsizing, accompanied by a low-resolution warning message for each uploaded image.
- The image icon that regulates the number of images per line remains unresponsive.
- The image loses focus when resized, and after hiding contour and resizing, it becomes impossible to move the image upward in the Canvas.
- There are performance issues with Warp, as it takes more than a second to enter edit mode and experiences lag when additional characters are entered. Additionally, after completing editing and clicking outside the box, there is a delay.
- There's no prompt to confirm unsaved changes, and the previous unsaved Canvas disappears without any notification to replace or save it.
- Using the keyboard shortcut cmd + shift + left arrow key to highlight everything results in improper rendering of the highlight.
- When opening Image Sets, the images load closely together, and the Image Set name tile appears misplaced, positioned between the top and second row instead of the first row.
- When performing combine, subtract, intersect, or exclude operations and attaching them, the color or operations remains unchangeable.
- Upon launching the app, users encounter a white screen, a continuous spinner, and a missing refresh token.
- Even after power cycling and setting the load to go, the -18 machine connection error continues to persist
- When hovering over the mat control multiple times, the mat preview fails to appear.
- When toggling the mirror function, the mat selection jumps, causing the left side to scroll back to the top.
- Cannot remove images from a collection
- Completing the product setup for a second time with a different machine leads to going to the "Get Started" page without setting the correct machine type.
- The "Get Started" page on the left rail and the pointer finger suggest that there's a reason to click there.
- It's not possible to unlike projects, and an error message stating "unable to remove likes" is displayed.
- The bookmark icon fails to switch to "bookmarked" for image sets
- The private profile message fails to display, and opening a project link leads to an empty Canvas without the project
- The shared profile links are incomplete, leading to the home page instead of directing to the profile
- Card Mat - If users attempt to make or customize without selecting a finished size, they will be prompted with the error message, "Select a Finished Size to continue
- When adding a photo to the Project details, it's observed that the image is zoomed in excessively, making it impossible to zoom out sufficiently to display the entire photo.
- It is not possible to cancel a full-page Print Then Cut project from the Mat Prepare screen.
-Performing a second search after the initial one yields no results
-Attempting to open a project with numerous sticker groups results in the Canvas displaying a perpetual spinner, rendering the project inaccessible.
-Loading stickers with multi-layered complex projects from project details takes considerable time to customize or make, typically ranging from 5 to 7 minutes.
- The custom border feature fails to function properly with complex shapes and does not create sticker-cut interior shapes combinations as intended.
- The Offset function fails to work with intricate PNGs for creating sticker-cut interior shapes combinations, and the Apply button remains disabled, accompanied by a continuous green bar.
- When deleting a Warp within a sticker group, the border is not redrawn.
- When resizing the sticker image using the Kiss cut & Die-cut Edge option, the image vanishes from the Canvas.
- After ungrouping and regrouping the text, the font toolbar is unavailable for the group.
- Apostrophes and quotes fail to transform into their left-right variants, causing coded single and double quote marks to appear instead of the anticipated left and right variants.
- Text is positioned closer to the bottom right corner, resulting in incorrect text placement after opening a new Canvas and adding new text
- When using the delete button on the laptop to erase text, it becomes evident that the undo and redo functions are not operating correctly.
- After changing a color or moving an image, the undo feature fails to function.
- Users have the ability to delete uploaded images when using new Image Inspiration designs.
- When attempting to upload an image, a message indicating "unable to upload image" is displayed, prompting users to check their internet connection.
- The learning plan redirects to the Canvas instead of remaining on the home page.
- When the uploaded image is added to the Canvas, it displays an image load failure.

It's the early 2000s, and I'm a 10ish year old, we didn't have a lot of money, but my dad made sure we were in the PCMR, while we only had dial-up in one room, every bedroom had a functioning PC that was built by my dad. He built all through the 90s and as long as I can remember as a kid. Our PCs were a compilation of hand-me-down parts tossed from one computer to another always trying to achieve 1 more fps in Half Life, Doom, AOE2, SimCity, Theme Hospital and so many more.
My favorite thing of course was a piece of software called GameMaker 5.x, now it's some nonsense yoyogames or something but back in the day it was an awesome game creation tool that required no internet. My first taste of coding was in GameMaker, I coded and coded and coded, and I knew the manual inside and out. My first real "game" was a cross between Breakout and SpaceInvaders. You had to break out of blocks using the paddle, but there were also aliens and some other stuff that would eat away at your paddle. It had a couple of cool features and even a high score table. I told my Dad, and he was so excited, he played and got 9th place sandwiched between my scores. We went to lunch and talked about the game and even strategy.
Soon we had DSL, and I quickly went got into PHP, HTML and MySQL. I used an old PC in my parent's closet to start a forum hosting website, PhpBB. And it quickly became really successful, and wow were my parents proud of me when checks from Google started showing up in the mail (Adsense). Once it outgrew our internet and that PC I even was able to sell it for 1000 dollars to another host ( I was probably 15 at the time). I used the money on a new PC with a sweet ATI Rage.
I turned 17 and joined the Army, he was so proud of me, he bought a jacket that said ARMY on it and wore it almost every day. Then, I can't really explain what happened, I was on my own now, in the Army states away and we sort of grew apart. Altleast, I did. He always reached out, and I wouldn't return his calls or emails or texts or anything. I was always busy and life was just too important to talk to Dad. Weeks turned into months of no contact.
2012 comes and I get out of the Army, by this time Dad had been sick for a while but never seriously. In and out of the hospital constantly while I was away, but never anything I needed to come home for. Then I got the call, it was serious this time and I should come. I get there, but he's already non-responsive, they said his liver was all shut down, and he wouldn't recover. The nurse said when he was there he liked listening to his classic rock on his laptop and maybe I should turn it on and play some music. I turn on the laptop and right on the desktop there it was, my game.
I started some music and launched the game from my childhood. I checked out the high score table and there were over 400 entries, some really, really high scores overtaking all of mine all named Dad... except the top one, the top one was named "i miss anon". Not long after that, he was gone.
I'm sorry Dad, I love you.

I’ve been studying for step1 since April using Amboss. Unfortunately, they just downgraded the iOS subscription to their lame basic membership, so I won’t be using it anymore.
UWorld pricing seems also crazy for the short term subscriptions (1 or 3 months), so I am not sure what to do honestly. Some friends suggested to purchase the 6 month subscription while some other friends think I should just move to NBMEs at this point.
I was getting about high 50s low 60s in Amboss, including their 5 hammer questions (which were pretty insane). I have done 970 Step1 Amboss questions (~35% of 2700q) and about 1500 Usmle Rx Step1 questions. I still did not schedule my exam as I was hoping to do so when I consistently got 70+. Should I move on to NBMEs and free 120 or UWorld?
