Hi guys! I've been on this subreddit for a few days, and I've looked through other posts asking about HYSA's, but I have a few questions I was hoping people here could answer.
Based on my (limited) research I've decided that Ally has a good HYSA option. I see it (and wealthfront) recommended all the time here.
For those who use Ally i was wondering: Are there any fees involved? Do I have to keep money in for a set time? Is it an online bank only? Is it FDIC insured? Can someone explain compounding interest to me?
Also, off topic from the original question, but I figured I'd ask: What is a CD and do you recommend them? From what I've gathered you "buy" them for a set amount of time and can't access that money during that time. Do these have higher interests rates than HYSA, and are they FDIC insured/safe to "buy"?
Sorry if these questions are dumb. I am 28, never went to college, and just got my first "real" job that's a career.
Extra info: I have 4k sitting in a vystar account with like .2% interest and want to change that. My average bills/total cost to live averages 650$/month. (I'm a trucker and live in my truck 95% of my time- when I do come home my dad let's me live in his spare bedroom rent free for the 2 or 3 days im home a month.) I make roughly 1500-1800/week AFTER taxes. If anyone has any extra advice for me based on that information I would certainly read over it and be very thankful. As maybe you've seen, there's no better indication that 'if they don't let you buy it, then pirate it' than Sony delists Ghost of Tsushima PC from various Steam regions, much like Helldivers 2 saw.

Following Sony's decision last week to delist Helldivers 2 in 170 regions worldwide on Steam, it seems this will be the firm's PC stance moving forward, and it has since done the same for the imminent PC release of Ghost of Tsushima. More regions have been added to the list, taking the total number of territories affected to 180, which is now consistent across both titles.
Previously, Sony has said that Ghost of Tsushima's single player offering would be unaffected by this additional requirement. The game's Steam Page still states that a PSN account is required to play the Legends multiplayer mode, but it was delisted anyway. Due to the open nature of Valve's platform, these changes are pretty visible, and including Sucker Punch's primarily single player open world epic in this blanket ban comes as a legitimate surprise.

This is bullshit. The good news? Sony do not use Denuvo for their PC games, so it will be available as soon as possible to be pirated.

By all accounts, it looks like Rockstar's Red Dead Redemption will be releasing on PC - in line with their usual tactics of releasing on a console platform and leaving PC for last, at least it will (probably) be coming to PC.

Denuvo:
A Denuvo 'outage' made a completely single-player game Persona 5 unplayble - amusingly Denuvo claim that "there was no outage related to its servers at this time"

• The Denuvo server outage rendered the PC version of Persona 5 Royal unplayable on May 2nd
• A partial workaround allowed Steam users to access the game without online functionality, but most didn't use it, with the game's concurrent player count consequently plummeting from 16,600 to just over 600
• The outage lasted for hours, angering fans

The thing we can take away from this is Denuvo sucks, and it's just better to play the damn thing via Yuzu or Ryujinx.

Related, we now see that it is confirmed that Homeworld 3 will release with Denuvo. The only good news is that Gearbox is one of the few publishers who remove Denuvo. So...just wait for this one.

Hydra Launcher:
Hydra is an open-source launcher released in the last few weeks by the Brazilian community. Hi guys! I've been watching Caleb for a few months, and recently been on this reddit for a few days, and I've looked through other posts asking about HYSA's, but I have a few questions I was hoping people here could answer.
Based on my (limited) research I've decided that Ally has a good HYSA option. I see it (and wealthfront) recommended all the time here.
For those who use Ally i was wondering: Are there any fees involved? Do I have to keep money in for a set time? Is it an online bank only? Is it FDIC insured? Can someone explain compounding interest to me?
Also, off topic from the original question, but I figured I'd ask: What is a CD and do you recommend them? From what I've gathered you "buy" them for a set amount of time and can't access that money during that time. Do these have higher interests rates than HYSA, and are they FDIC insured/safe to "buy"?
Sorry if these questions are dumb. I am 28, never went to college, and just got my first "real" job that's a career.
Extra info: I have 4k sitting in a vystar account with like .2% interest and want to change that. My average bills/total cost to live averages 650$/month. (I'm a trucker and live in my truck 95% of my time- when I do come home my dad let's me live in his spare bedroom rent free for the 2 or 3 days im home a month.) I make roughly 1500-1800/week AFTER taxes. If anyone has any extra advice for me based on that information I would certainly read over it and be very thankful. Hey y'all. Getting straight to the point: I currently own a PC with an RX 6600 paired with a Ryzen 5 5600, 16gb ram (dual channel) and a 650w PSU.
I'm going to buy an RX 7800XT next month as an upgrade, and while I know it can start to bottleneck in some games with the Ryzen 5 5600, I can live with it until I can get a new CPU (most games I play aren't that CPU intensive anyway).
Question 1: Can I get that GPU without upgrading my PSU as well? I did some digging online and most answers are that a good 650w PSU can handle it just fine (I have one from Corsair, its the CX650F).
Question 2: When I *do* upgrade my CPU, I wanted to know if a Ryzen 7 5800X goes well with the 7800XT in terms of "not bottlenecking". Looking at a list of compatible CPUs for my motherboard (this one), it looks like the 7 5800X is the most budget friendly for me.
Question 3: Considering I don't need to upgrade my PSU for the GPU alone, is there any chance that I wouldn't either for the CPU upgrade? I know at this point I might be asking too much (lol), but I ran a test with Outer Vision's PSU calculator and it said this build would use around 522w (and I was generous with the usage time). This would also mean that I'd have over a 100 "watts to spare" for safety. I'm not super familiar with how PSUs work so forgive me if I'm just being stupid.
Question 4 (bonus, kinda): While the 7 5800X would be the most accessible for me, the very best CPU compatible with my motherboard (again, according to that list) is the Ryzen 9 5950X. I *could* wait a little longer to get it because after running a test with the PSU calculator, it looks like this CPU requires the same wattage as the 5800X. So... Should I?
