So i played a match, a duostack was in my team and they kept griefing since first round. This kept going for a few Rounds (thats like just faceit at the moment). After a few rounds both of them started being full on racist, i am not talking about some ''funny'' insults which is part of the game kinda. It was like N-Word atleast 100 times and Antijew stuff at its finest. So match went on and they did this for 10-15 rounds straight. as soon as they or someone else died it was a racism-festival. match over i reported both with clips and everything. faceit banned that guy and i think his mate aswell. one week later i met one of them again (same racism as before). so i reported and wrote the faceit support if they'd like to have racism on their platform since one of them even has racist posts on his account ON FACEIT itself. They asked for evidence again, again i send it and they said ''yeah he has been banned bc of that'' and thats it. One week ? for a racist? its just scary how the policy of faceit works so thats why i wanted to share it. this wasnt a case of one angry kid who had a bad match and started throwing around some slurs, i think we all do that. that was full on racism. for everyone thats interested, here's just one example clip https://streamable.com/bcytbj

2024.05.15 00:06 Haunting_Test_5523 Value of picks is kinda confusing

I get that a lot of this is to prevent us from being able to fleece the AI really easily, but it feels like there are some situations where the AI will just be completely unreasonable. Some examples:
I had the 4th, 8th, 9th, and 17th overall picks in the draft and tried to trade up to the 3rd pick to draft a specific player and the AI refused. In real life, trading down from 3 to 4 in exchange for 2 additional lottery picks seems like a no-brainer.
Another instance would be the AI seems to outright refuse to trade away more than 2 picks (even if they're not projected to be lottery picks or the AI can reasonably expect to contend for several years, and you can just forget about getting projected lottery picks in a trade from the AI), even if you're trading away a top 15 player.
Additionally, when I try and trade away picks, it feels like they just don't hold the same value. Think what do I have to offer to get 2 picks vs what I can get from trading away 5 picks.
It feels like there should be some kinda tweaks (or at least options in the settings to adjust the value of picks) like if you're trying to trade for their highest pick in the draft, the AI should account for what their highest pick in the draft would be after the trade and if the value added from the other assets makes up for that. Additionally, if the AI is a contending team and they have the chance to acquire a top 15 talent (especially if the player is under 30) for mostly draft capital, they should be pretty quick to do that. (think AD, Paul George, Donovan Mitchell, etc.)

Emmon Flowers:
Born just a year prior to the Conquest, Emmon is the product of his father (also named Emmon), who was the sickly heir to Holyhall at the time, and Septa Ynys, who had arrived with Lord Willem (Emmon Graceford’s father)’s second wife, Rhea Merryweather, as an attendant. Septa Ynys gave birth to Emmon Flowers after his father’s death from disease. Emmon Sr. had been aware of his child’s coming, and was hoping to live long enough to meet the child he never believed he would have – though that wouldn’t be the case.
Septa Ynys was called back to do penance for the sin of Emmon Flowers, and Emmon himself was taken to be raised by septons so that he might also do penance for the sin of existing – by becoming a septon himself. Lord Willem, who outlived his son and was hoping to have more children by his second wife, was glad of the disposal of an inconvenient bastard – the resemblance of the infant to his father at that age was more hurtful than gratifying.
Emmon learned music and scholarship (religious and otherwise) with the septons, but was known for being a bit too inquisitive and curious for his own good, despite being otherwise pliant and eager to please. Brief talk was made of sending him to the Maesters, but the Faith believed that Emmon was what was owed to them – after all, he had been born of the Faith.
When he was sixteen, Emmon finally retaliated against another bullying novice – landing one punch on the other boy. Unfortunately, the other boy was slightly more martial, and Emmon came out the worse of the two in the fight. Something about this particular incident, however, convinced the septons that Emmon was more trouble than he was worth – perhaps it was the straw that broke the stallion’s back, amongst all the inconvenient questions Emmon would raise. Either way, Emmon was sent back to Holyhall.
Lord Willem was still alive at the time, but by then had only had a daughter, Jocelyn, by his second wife, the Lady Rhea. He took in Emmon purely to avoid the scandal that would have arisen by having the bastard of Holyhall out on the street, and gave him no other kindness but this.
Emmon spent his time playing music as the resident musician at Holyhall, which gave him at least some purpose, and assisted the Maester with the tending of ravens.
When Emmon was twenty, Lord Willem died suddenly – and the only child that remained was Jocelyn, who had always been kind to Emmon, but who had a talent for intrigue that frightened Emmon to an extent. He saw it coming that he would become part of her machinations, but had no real way of stopping it. At least he would be able to continue his music and studies. At least there would be that.

1 BC – Emmon Flowers is born, Emmon Graceford dies. Septa Ynys is sent away to do penance, Emmon is given to septons.
15 AC – Emmon sent in disgrace back to Holyhall

Jocelyn Graceford
Jocelyn was born to the second wife of Willem Graceford and was the only child of this marriage to survive to adulthood – though that very nearly didn’t happen. Jocelyn was badly disfigured by a hunting dog when she was seven years old, and despite treatments by a maester, was ultimately disfigured. Thankfully, she had been able to keep her eyes and tongue. After this, her father abandoned his hopes of arranging a suitable betrothal for her.
Lord Willem had hoped to have a son and heir by his new wife to replace his deceased first heir, but unfortunately, only Jocelyn survived. Rhea Merryweather tried to give her husband a new son and heir, but her multiple pregnancies after Jocelyn only resulted in stillbirths or children who, to the despair of their parents, died in the cradle days after birth.
After his wife finally expired in childbed when Jocelyn was nineteen, Willem was quickly making plans to take a new wife, only to die suddenly and unexpectedly, leaving Jocelyn the Lady of Holyhall.
There are rumors Jocelyn poisoned her father, to prevent him from creating a new heir and sending her to the silent sisters. She denies these rumors.
Because of her disfigurement, Jocelyn tends to not leave Holyhall unless there is great cause for it, or if she cares for those she visits, such as family at Longtable. She wears a long dark veil over her face, to hide the bulk of the damage, and even at Holyhall, only her Maester has seen underneath the veil.
Jocelyn, despite her isolation and lack of marriage prospects, however, is interested in keeping informed, even from her seat in the Reach, and has utilized her nephew to this end.

I was contacted by a lady from Hays on Linkedin with the title 'Projektangebot bei ' who said she was recruting in the field of telecommunication particularly for one of the big companies of Germany (I dont wish to name it). I had previously done an internship at that company and that's how she found my profile and found it interesting.
She asked me what kind of job was I looking for and also she would like to have MS Teams call with me for a discussion on this topic. I explained the field I was interested in and showed an interest to have a meeting.
She has scheduled a meeting with me but also asked for a CV. I have given her the CV and accepted the meeting invite.

I have no idea if headhunters are genuine or red flag in Germany? What are the things I should be aaware of if any? What are the things I should be asking in the meeting??

I have two kids: my son is 8 and my daughter is 11. My son has a friend “Timmy”. Timmy’s family is very friendly and my son plays with him often. My daughter somewhat knows Timmy but doesn’t really hang around him when he’s over.
I am not the type to assume either of my kids are invited to a party. If one of their names is on the invite, then just that one goes. Timmy invited my son to his birthday party at a bowling alley his name was the only one on the invite. My daughter came with me to drop off because we were supposed to go shopping after.
When we arrived, however, Timmy’s mom was confused as to why my daughter wasn’t staying. She said she assumed we’d figure she was invited too. She added that she already paid a certain number of kids, which included my daughter. I felt bad about this and chalked it up to miscommunication as clearly different families have different ways of handling siblings at parties.
As they paid for my daughter, I had her stay. She didn’t want to but i told her I wasn’t going to let them waste money. I left and came back when the party was over. My daughter was not happy with me.
Later on when I dropped the kids off with their dad, they told him what happened. My ex feels I was wrong to have her stay when she didn’t want to and it’s not her fault the hosts didn’t communicate.
Was I wrong to make her stay?

I got an email back less than a day later confirming a partial refund for the amount of the discount that should have applied and the money has just come through. I posted the pictures when I made the order here.
My email to them:
"Hi
I emailed when I first made this order but did not hear anything back. The "MEGA VIP BUNDLE" was supposed to come with a discount (picture 1), but it never applied when I went to pay for it. Turns out when I accepted the free t-shirt and polaroid (which popped up after adding the bundle) it removed all the discounts for the items and only applied the "discount" for the shirt and polaroid (picture 2). I paid for this on launch with the error since the kitchen t-shirt I was getting was limited stock, so I emailed you guys on the day to request a partial refund of the difference of $38.18 USD."

2024.05.15 00:00 ArthRol Impressions on two rather overlooked George Orwell's novels - 'Keep the Aspidistra Flying' (1936) and 'Coming up for air' (1939)

Naturally, I came to know Orwell with 1984, which I read roughly three years ago in a Russian translation. I was at my humble beggining in discovering literature, and the book impressed my chiefly trough its deep theoretical base, the atmosphere of utter lack of hope and ingenious terms such as 'doublethink' - anyway, you probably know what I am talking about
Yet it was only much later that I have read his other literary works - namely, those indicated in the title. There I discovered Orwell as a great analytic of human psychology, an inventive storyteller. Both novel have a bleak atmosphere with a bit of dark humor, and somewhat foreshadow themes that would appear in 1984.
In *Keep the Aspidistra Flying', Orwell depicts a peculiar intellectual named Gordon Constock, almost thirty and "already moth-eaten". The gist is that he refused his status and prospects of a "good job" in order to avoid being subservient to "the Money God" - that is, he lowers himself on the social scale, living in self-imposed penury, working in a bookshop. Generally, this Gordon would seen like an off-putting person, constantly frustrated, whining and complaining, raving about the 'end of civilization', a little bit sexist and a great deal pessimist. The reader is plunged into his interior monologue and obsessive thoughts, which are captivating to follow. The plot revolves around his fight with the Consumerist system - however, as you might have guessed, he is not a valliant knight in shining armor, but rather a vain nihilist with questionable worldview. This affects the relationship with other characters - his friend Ravelstorm (a self-proclaimed Marxist, who is distracted from thougths about the rough conditiond of the Proletariat by the soft appearance of his mistress), his self-abnegating sister Julia, etc. Also, Gordon tries to write poetry - and one of the poems is gradually 'conceived' throughout the novel, containing his impressions and emotions in a self-piteous, frustrated style - with quite a decent result I'd say. Besides, Orwell realistically describes some unpleasant aspects of London's life through the protagonist's actions: slums, squalor, drunkenness and prostitution. Per general, a great read!
On the other hand, 'Coming up for air' describes a character who is an organic part of the system - a middle-aged clerk from a London's suburb, on the surface - a typical lower-middle-class and a family man, called George Bowling. The novel is written entirely through his perspective and keeps a rather melancholic tone. The narrator, with a rueful humor, talks a bit about himself, expressing a dissatisfaction with his menial life, yet remaining fatalistic about it. Then he starts a 80-or-so pages description of his pre-WW1 life and memories from a small town - and, frankly, it stirred my interest, being related in a vivid language. His rustic life is placed in contrast with the modern, after-war existence. This leads to nostalgia, and basically the plot of the novel is consisted of an attempt to chase this feeling, to make it come true, to revive what has been long forgotten. The novel (published sone month before the WW2) contains a distinct feeling of uncertainty, fear, anguish about the future, expressed in various instances. The narrator ask himself what would become if the war starts - if the bombers arrive - which, as he thinks, will happen in 1941. But he fears not the destruction itself, but what would come after the pains of war - a new world of rubber truncheons, slogans, suppression, hate. Something that Orwell will describe 11 years later in '1984'.
Overall, I think both books are worth reading. However, you have to expect that the protagonists - Gordon Comstock and George Bowling - might not be quite prepossesing.

Most of her savings are not in my mother in laws name but all the savings are under the name of her mother so technically grandmother owns all money. I have opened up a bank account and now after rejection thinking of transferring over £5000 in her account to show sufficient cash and not show that any one will be sponsoring. Is this approach correct to mitigate first point?

Hi all,
First things first; this is my first post so I apologize if this isn’t perfect. Also, throw away account because friend uses Reddit. Lastly, I am not a medical professional and I do not mean to be disrespectful in this area at all. I am open to learning and only want advice on what to say to said friend or direct her in the right direction.
Okay to begin. I have known my friend(23F) since senior year of high school. We can call her Tiffany. Her and I both have two children and are both similar in age. Her first daughter is the child I am referring to in this post(she turns 2 in September).
To make a long story short, my friend basically self diagnosed her daughter with ADHD because it’s what her husband was allegedly diagnosed with. Most recently, while we were preparing for an event, Tiffany had mentioned this in front of myself and my MIL saying something like “-because (insert child’s name) has ADHD-“. I relayed this situation to my MIL in the past and once she heard it for herself, my MIL decided to voice her opinion. She asked Tiffany questions like “how do you know she has ADHD?” and “was this diagnosed by a doctor?”. Tiffany just responds with “she gets it from her dad”. For as long as I have known Tiffany, she often try’s to stand out by focusing on the unusual aspects of her life and family. If you know what I mean.. When she was asked by my MIL if her daughter was diagnosed by a doctor, she responded “well doctors don’t typically diagnose girls at a young age with ADHD”. My MIL cut her off and then asked “then how do you know she has ADHD??” Tiffany states her daughter can’t sit in front of a TV or pay attention to a task for more than 10 seconds. I think to myself “maybe because she’s not even two years old yet???”. Almost every time Tiffany and I hang out, she mentions her daughter has ADHD and it feels wrong.
For more context, Tiffany’s daughter seems to be developing in the right areas. The only thing I notice and her mother mentioned to me is that she doesn’t speak much or really doesn’t make a lot of noise(such as typical 18 month sounds). Which I understand that every child develops at their own pace. Tiffany stated a few months ago that the daughter can say about 3-4 words. They are teaching her sign language but the most I have seen this child do is point and stare at her parents if she wants something like more food or a toy. I have had this child at my home for an entire day and did not hear her utter one word.
Maybe I am in the wrong and need to mind my own business but I also want to help my friend because I don’t think it’s not fair for her to implant these things in her child’s mind so young when no testings have been conducted. Maybe my friend is right and because her father was diagnosed with ADHD, her young daughter has as well. I just don’t know how she can assume this without it actually being diagnosed.
Any advice on what I should do would be great. A part of me thinks I should mind my own business and another part wants to give her advice but I don’t know what to say. I want to be clear that I do not believe I am good at giving advice. I have been told that I can be too blunt and it may come off wrong or hurt people’s feelings. I definitely don’t want to hurt anyone’s feelings and genuinely want to help but I just don’t know what to say.

I started playing hsr on launch but stopped around the end of Jingliu’s first banner and only recently came back (at the tail end of 2.0, maybe a week before sparkle’s banner was gone) Needless to say I’ve been playing catch up so I need some advice on what to prioritize rn.
My account is (I’d say) decent rn. That’s what my roaster looks like:

Most used teams would be:

Ratio-Topaz(s1)-Aven(s1)-Robin
DHIL-Sparkle-Thingyun-Luocha
Acheron-Pela-SW-Aven/FX/Geppard
Jingliu-Pela-Bronya-FX

I think it’s pretty clear FUA is my favorite archetype so I’ve invested in it the most and honestly it’s definitely my best performing team by a lot. That, of course, has to do with my relics as well.
After basically finishing every bit of content there is (events, quests, maps, gng & swarm, etc.) I managed to snatch quite a few things in a roll (Sparkle, Acheron, S1 Aven, S1 Topaz and Robin) but that has kind of left me completely dry out of recourses. And I mean both jades and mats/fuels. I also very recently got my Bronya from the 300 guarantee on the standard banner (and she is very very far from being at least decent)
Right now, I have no problem maxing out MOC, but PF is a struggle (unless it’s something like the current blessing ofc). Aside from PF my main problem, as mentioned, is the lack of recourses. After I finish with Robin's traces I want to build up my Bronya (mainly for Jingliu), Clara (whose e1 I got recently), Herta (for PF) and then QQ & HMC for mono qua and eventually some superbreak teams maybe.
Aside from all that, I barely have useable relics on most of my units. Jingliu is on random rainbow pieces that aren’t even that good, Acheron is useable enough but she is on 2p thunder & 2p musketeer, DHIL is on atk sphere because I don’t hit 134spd otherwise (and I do not have the relics for hyperspeed Sparkle either so she’s at 132) etc. I do have a ton to work on and I am aware of that.
Now for pulling, I was considering going for e1 Robin (68 pity on banner rn but only 4 pulls to my name) but I’m starting to reconsider. I’m probably skipping both Boothill & FF, but I’m kind of interested in Jade, one because I just like IPC characters and two because I lack Erudition for PF. Another consideration to make is an eventual RM rerun. I did not play during her first banner and ik she is pretty universal and quite busted, but I also do own a bunch of good harmony units that go well with my teams.
My questions after all that exposition are:
What should my top priority be right now? Which of the characters I have that need work do I focus on first given my lack of recourses and what would be the most beneficial for my account as far as pull value goes – trying for R1 Robin, getting E0 Jade or saving for RM (or maybe something entirely different)? Would it be better to vertically invest in some more of my teams (say Acheron or DHIL) or go for more variety?

I am currently a marketing analyst in financial services industry. It’s my first job out of college and I’ve been working in this role for two years.
70% of my work is monitoring publisher metrics and finding areas to optimize media for publishers in Clicks. A lot of times there is not much room to optimize media and even when I make recommendations to publisher account managers, they have to talk to publishers or other teams then they’ll decide if they want to take my recs.
There is a new team the company is building that focuses on re-engagement data such as SMS, Email, and Calls. An analyst there will focus more on making user experience better and conducting user behavior analysis rather than focusing on specific publisher accounts.
My current work has been the same for the past two years, but it’s a pretty chill job with not much pressure. The new team, however, is pretty fast paced with more pressure. I am considering to switch to the new team if working on re-engagement data would open up more opportunities when I want to switch jobs in e-commerce or retail in the future.
What is your advice on switching to the new team?
