2024.04.19 13:42 SmolCreator Improving on a controversial pitch I saw for a Jigsaw sequel.
This is a repost of a post I took down as it had some errors which really made it lose traction and was hated. I went back, fixed those mistakes, and am posting this in favor of that. So, I saw that around a month ago, somebody posted a pre write for a possible sequel to Jigsaw called “Jigsaw Lives”. I didn’t read it as I’d have to read the other pitch he made; “Downward Spiral” but since I saw most people hating it, I thought I could take a try at it and make a Jigsaw II of my own.
With that being said, here is my pitch for Jigsaw II!
Act 1 One week earlier
The film starts with a dirty and dusty room, with a trap front and center. Inside said trap is Trevor, a man who had run a CP trade group off the dark web. He’s strapped down to a chair, with a noose around his neck that’s hooked up to a winch that’s on the back of the chair.
A monitor turns on before Trevor, revealing Jigsaw himself. He explains that if he doesn’t find the correct letters in the puzzle before him, the winch will activate after five wrong turns or after his sixty seconds are up. A game of hangman. The monitor cuts to reveal the puzzle. After a long struggle, the noose on Trevor’s neck starts pulling farther and farther back. His neck breaks, and he’s left internally bleeding.
Title card - Jigsaw II
We cut to the present. Logan Nelson is preparing the next game to be played in a desolate and abandoned factory. A garage door opens wide, and a truck comes through. Outcomes William Emerson, a copycat killer for John Kramer. William and Logan unload four unconscious people out of the truck, ready to hook them up into the traps.
We cut to a prison. A detective walks into an interrogation room, Daniel Matthews. Feeling as if his father deserved vengeance, he had decided to become a detective and do what Eric couldn’t, that being to end Jigsaw and his legacy. Daniel finds another man in the room, cuffed to the table, Lawrence Gordon, the last remaining apprentice who had turned himself in a few years prior (after killing Hoffman).
Lawrence is being interrogated after hinting that he knows of a game occurring soon, and the game that occurred a few weeks ago (Jigsaw 2017). He confirms that the person doing it couldn’t have been Jigsaw, nor was it Halloran.
The four people wake up, all chained to devices and machines. One is chained to a carousel seat, one is chained upside down to a slide, one with a collar around their neck, and one is merely chained to a pipe in the corner. They start screaming for help before trying to sort things out. The intercom activates and informs the players (and the audience) that for being a part of the CP trade group previously mentioned, they’ll need to play a game.
Lawrence goes into detail about his motivations and confirms that Adam is indeed dead. He was instructed to not interfere or else he would interfere with the testing of Amanda Young, revealing that her test was planned much, much later.
He goes into his guilt about leaving Adam behind and how his impact made him realize that he must not allow any more games to continue, giving more depth to his intentions of locking Hoffman away and why he’d tell the police about the coming games.
Daniel Matthews asks if Lawrence had any involvement in killing his father. Lawrence explains that he merely knew of Kramers intentions, and didn’t have any interference with him over it.
The man chained to the slide (Lucas) reaches into his pocket, pulling out the Panasonic RN-305 cassette recorder. The tape reminds Lucas of his first victim, an innocent child he kidnapped at a playground, with flashback shots coming across the screen. The metal slide he’s chained to is being progressively heated up, and will only start being cooled right before its boiling point. To break free of his hurtful obsession, he must saw through his legs with the circular saw to his side.
The tape ends, and Lucas can feel the slide heating up. It becomes painful within mere seconds. Lucas reaches for the circular saw, activates it, and starts cutting through his shins, his screams becoming more and more agonized with each second. He pulls the saw side to side, trying to cut through both of his legs in seconds. Smoke rises from every crevice and hole in his body. Boiling blood and melted skin start pouring down the slide, and Lucas merely hangs loose by his half-liquified legs.
Act 2 Lawrence is asked about the upcoming game. He explains that the person controlling it has been an accomplice from the start, and has been working with John Kramer for a very long time.
Lawrence makes an offer to Daniel Matthews. If they were to let him go for the time being, possibly even minimize his sentence to probation, he would bring Logan Nelson to justice, no matter what.
The man with the collar (Lincoln) receives his tape after it has been dropped down and connected to a chain. He pulls it away, playing it. The tape reminds him of his first victim, and how he had kidnapped her by driving by a school, snatching her neck, and dropping her in his van.
The tape explains that the collar he’s wearing has spikes pointed inwards, held back by spring locks. After 60 seconds, the locks will unlock, and spikes will be driven deep into his neck. To remove the tightened collar, he must carve at his neck with a scalpel, managing to slim down his flesh yet not cut his arteries.
Lincoln grabs the scalpel and pries it between the collar and his neck to give room to shed away the skin. He starts cutting away at himself, trying to remain precise and careful through his agony and screams. After cutting away small amounts, he tries pulling the collar off, but can’t get it through. Lincoln accepts his fate, waiting for the timer.
The wires holding the locks in place unravel, and the spikes are driven deep into his neck from eight ways. He falls limp as a spike from behind penetrates through the spine, killing him instantaneously.
Daniel leaves the interrogation room, to talk to his associates, none other than Ezekiel Banks (Spiral) and Michael Tapp (Saw II: Flesh and Blood). They force him into denying Lawrence's deal, yet Daniel can’t keep from remaining intrigued.
We cut back to the abandoned factory, and Logan is monitoring the security camera feed, ensuring that the subjects remain orderly. William walks back in, telling Logan he’s brought his accomplice with him. Ezekiel Banks.
There’s a flashback to Spiral, in which it shows Zeke saying he’d be willing to help William in his work. It cuts to another flashback, showing Zeke still working with the police department, now seeming as if he’s against William, all the while he’s working with him.
We finally cut back to the present day. Zeke informs Logan and William that Lawrence is indeed being interrogated and will likely blow their cover. They’re now tasked with a difficult decision. Stay and operate the game, risking getting caught, or leave the factory, letting truly evil people be saved once again.
The man chained to the carousel seat (Vincent) receives his tape after it has been dropped down and connected to a chain. The tape reminds Vincent of his first victim, and how he had kidnapped him at a carnival right after seeing the child get off a carousel.
The tape explains that once the carousel starts rotating, a circular saw angled towards his face will be progressively pulled across the track and into the carousel, right where Vincent is sitting. He must carve through his frontal torso to free himself from the restraints (similar to the Pipe-Bomb trap). The carousel starts rotating, and Vincent arms himself with a rusted blade. He cuts away at his flesh, freeing himself of the wires penetrated through his muscles. Suddenly, he drops the blade, and can no longer reach it. The circular saw is pulled in closer, and closer, and closer...
The last turn is made, and the horizontal circular saw and Vincent's face meet, shredding and slicing it in half in the most messy way possible. Flesh, skin, and teeth slop from his face into his lap, as he’s still conscious. His twitches slow, and he finally dies.
Act 3 Once people aren’t looking, Daniel Matthews frees Lawrence Gordon and runs outside to his car. They drive off, as other police officers try driving after them, yet the accessible cars and their tires have been slashed.
Logan, William, and Zeke are now struggling with what to do. After a long argument, they decide to lock the building down. Nobody will get in, and nobody will get out.
The last man standing (Solomon) is panicking, not wanting to meet the same fate as the rest of his associates. A door opens, and Billy the Puppet rides in on his iconic tricycle. He delivers a gift box to Solomon, before driving away.
Solomon rips the lid from the box, taking out a tape. The tape reminds Solomon of his method of taking CP images. He hides his face behind none other than a pig mask, trying to frame the Jigsaw killer for doing his actions.
Now, to find the key to his chain, he must cut the skin of his head off, down to pure muscle. A rendition of Cut Necks (Saw II OST) plays, as Solomon shuffles through the gift box and finds a scalpel and graphed instructions on where to cut.
After being incapable of feeling the metal key under his skin, he accepts what he must do. He grabs the scalpel, turns mirrors to see his backhead, and starts cutting deep cuts in his skin. After making the cuts, he grabs flaps of skin and starts peeling his entire head's skin off from the back, as if he was unzipping a suit.
The key falls, and he tries to find it in the puddles of blood. Once found, he reaches for his chains and undoes the lock. He stumbles across the room, before slipping on a pile of blood and cracking his skull on a sharp edge, giving him permanent brain damage and just barely forcing him to lie down and bleed.
William and Zeke make a plan to go to the roof access and use the fire escape on the side of the building to escape. While they had made the plan for them and Logan, Logan refused and decided to stay so he could finish off Lawrence once and for all. We cut back to Lawrence and Daniel. They’re close to the factory. Lawrence tells Daniel about how the accomplice running the game is Logan Nelson, as far as he knows. They pull up to the building. Daniel stays in the car and allows Lawrence to go and find Logan and ask for Daniel as a backup if needed.
Lawrence leaves the car and breaks through the fire exit. He walks through the factory, only for it to be revealed as the factory seen in Saw I and II, Jigsaw’s old lair. We cut back to Daniel, who was carjacked by none other than Zeke and William. They shoot Daniel in the chest and drive off, leaving Daniel for dead.
Lawrence finds the room in which the traps had been occurring. He opens the door and finds the corpse of Solomon, his head skinned and a large growing puddle of blood beneath him. Lawrence notices the security camera in the corners, and how they’re all active.
Lawrence runs through the building, searching for Logan, unaware that Logan is following close behind. Logan catches up to Lawrence and shoots him in the leg. As Lawrence falls limp, Logan notices the mirror in the hall corner. Someone in a pig mask runs up behind Logan and covers his face with a rag damp with chloroform.
Logan wakes up in the old bathroom, chained to the same pipe Adam had been chained to. His vision is blurry, but as it clears out more, he notices the man in the pig mask, a mere few meters away from him. Ensue a new rendition of Hello Zepp. As Logan starts cursing out the man, the man pulls his mask away from his face, to reveal none other than, Adam Faulkner Stanheight (Saw).
Through a flashback sequence, it reveals that Adam used his old trick of playing dead once Amanda tried to suffocate him. John Kramer walked into the bathroom, and unlocked Adam’s chains, taking him in as an accomplice.
Similarly to the flashback sequence for Lawrence Gordon's reveal, we see Adam taking the photos that would be used in the traps seen in Saw III and IV, taking photos of the victims seen in this film for evidence, and many more situations.
We then see that Adam had been working as an informant for Lawrence Gordon, informing him of the games that took place in Jigsaw. He had also been the one to slash the tires at the start of the 3rd act. Finally, we see that he was testing Lawrence by forcing him to escape and deal with Logan shortly after he murdered Halloran, breaking John Kramer’s ideology. Adam swore to come in only when necessary.
We finally cut back to the present. Logan reaches for his gun, but it’s kicked out of his hand by Adam. The entire franchise and the timeline flashes before the viewer as it all comes full circle, before cutting back to Logan begging and screaming for help as Adam slams the door, saying the iconic line; “Game over.”
This ending is a bit controversial, so I’ll just state my reasons for it right here. Adam is the accomplice because of a few reasons. Lots of people don’t like the idea, but there’s also a good amount of people who do, and have found evidence for it. Not just that, but there’s a lot of people who want more from the character in general. Also, almost nobody here enjoys Logan, so having a wanted accomplice kill off an unwanted accomplice felt fun.
So, that’s my pitch for Jigsaw II. I know some people might like this, and then some will hate this. Anyways, call me up if you ever need ideas

2024.01.28 18:35 Half_wall_Hockey How Can Sharks Be Competitive in 2-3 Years?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jf8EjOnLJwc&ab_channel=SanJoseHockeyNow ^^^Link^^^
What’s a realistic path for the San Jose Sharks to be competitive by 2025-26 or 2026-27 (54:40)?
We’re asking this question because that seems to be GM Mike Grier’s hope.
“In two or three years, hopefully we can be a team that is pushing for the playoffs, if not hopefully grabbing a spot,” he said in his media availability on Thursday.
https://sanjosehockeynow.com/san-jose-sharks-mike-grier-all-star-availability/ Before we get to that discussion, Keegan and Sheng talk about the San Jose Sharks’ recent play, including signs of life from William Eklund. (03:00)
What did Sheng think of Shakir Mukhamadullin’s mixed bag NHL debut? (12:08)
Sheng has a lot of thoughts about the new Cali Fin jersey, including the controversial usage of the Fin logo as the primary crest. (21:25)
We also touched on assorted Sharks' injuries and other thoughts about Grier’s availability. (37:05)
So what has to happen for the San Jose Sharks to be in the playoff discussion in a couple years? (54:40)
Before we get into that, why might 2025-26 be the target season to be competitive? (55:25)
We break down what has to go right for each position to be competitive in two to three years. (1:02:50)
Who might the goalie of the 2025-26 Sharks be? Why is Sheng not too worried about this position? (1:03:05)
The Sharks don’t have a future No. 1 defenseman yet. Why might quality depth be the workaround? Could Mario Ferraro, Shakir Mukhamadullin, and Henry Thrun be the start of a credible top-four? And where does the Noah Hanifin trade rumor fit in? (1:07:05)
If the Sharks need to look toward the 2024 Draft to find their No. 1 defenseman of the future, who does Keegan like best in a deep pool of defensive prospects? (1:11:25)
Also, why doesn’t it make sense to buy out Marc-Edouard Vlasic, even in the summer of 2025? (1:17:00)
The San Jose Sharks are also lacking a 1C of the future. Obviously, if the Jonathan Toews comp is accurate, Macklin Celebrini could be the answer here. (1:21:52)
How about Tomas Hertl as your 2C and Logan Couture as your 3C? And where could Will Smith, William Eklund, and Fabian Zetterlund fit in up the middle or along the wing? (1:22:40)
What does this forward group lack and how could the 2025 free agency class possibly provide an answer? (1:29:30)
