GPT-4o is an omni model. It accepts any combination of text, audio, and image as input and generates any combination of text, audio, and image as outputs.
There's 100s of applications it will enable. I'll cover a few of them below.
Duolingo Stock
For context, Duolingo is a language-learning app. Now GPT-4o can easily translate terms in other languages by just pointing it to the ChatGPT's Camera.
This is massive if you want to travel globally as a nomad. You don't have to know a language now. You can just translate on the fly in any random country.
The accuracy won't be 100% but it would be close enough. And the AI keeps improving.
Most students fear asking questions because they feel it might be dumb. Now you can ask ChatGPT any dumb question.
It even solves math problems for the Salman Khan's (founder of Khan Academy, not the actor) Kid.
You can even use a Soft Toy that does the talking to the kid. Earlier, there used to be toys that did that but it only spoke the same sentence. Now it can do back and forth.
You can make special toys that teach kids letters and alphabets. Target it to 2-3 year olds.

The future is great for the blind.
You can build a specialized app that gets you an AI Friend since you can talk to it now and it can talk back, it will be great.
I am 100% sure Therapy AI will be much better now with Audio/Video integration. In future, we will have fully featured Robots like Tesla's Optimus and Figure that will have such functionalities built-in.
I bet this comes in <2 years judging by the pace at which AI and Robotics are accelerating.
Its a huge creative exercise for comic creators. Webtoons have exploded in popularity and many KDramas are made out of them like Death's Game and Marry My Husband.
This will increase the creativity exponentially.
Funnily enough ChatGPT can create fonts easily now. Take the most popular fonts, tweak them a bit, and create entire new sets of fonts.
Look at the creations explode on Creative Market. Font directories like Typewolf can now create their own fonts easily as they already have distribution.

There's 100s of applications it will enable. I'll cover a few of them below.
1. Language Learning
Duolingo Stock fell by $65 in the last 5 days. That should tell you the entire story.Duolingo Stock

I really enjoy the magic system in this game and was thinking the combination system is such a good foundation for more creativity that I hope either outward 2 or another game capitalizes on it.
For instance, you could have so many spell options with just two non-repeating rune combos. I think 12 unless my math really sucks.. im thinking you could have a bunch of utility spells in the two rune combo list, and then projectile and local AOE elemental attacks would be three rune combos?
I could also see a type of combination system that increases your spell damage with each additional cast of a buff, but reduces your ability to move or something? Like you're going all dragon ball z and powering up for a blast lol.
I dunno I just think the rune combo system is really cool, and the sigil system too. They could be expanded on a lot.

All names are fake names So this goes back to a few days ago me and my twin brother where playing a video game my twin got from our auntie we are 4 siblings me ash (15 m) twin brother Cole (15 m) my older brother max (17 m) and little sister Sofia (13 f ) Me and Cole where playing in our room since we share one Sofia walked in pushing his childhood toy on the floor laughing then saw the game and wanted to play Cole said no bc it's his game and he wants to play first she got mad and ran out to our b max telling him Cole won't let her play max came in yelled at us when Cole said no he went to tell our mom she came In our room and said "you can't play before you clean the room your bathroom and do your homework" which we already had in between when our Sofia got max Cole had picked up the thing she pushed down she yelled at us to get off Cole said "we already done all that" she yelled to let Sofia and max Play so we just went to sit in our beds max and Sofia came in and played in our room being loud me and Cole made a deal to everytime we are in our room we do it at our dests and take the whatever the food was in right out but mom bought Sofia and max snacks that normally make a big mess after they finished playing both went to their room and didn't clean up the mess we told mom and she yelled at us to clean it ourselves and called us spoiled brats so we did after that it became dark we both went to sleep the next day was a long school day for me and Cole when we came home our room was a mess everything was laying everywhere like someone had thrown our stuff around to find something we both looked at our hide spots for money everything that we had made from our job was gone Cole had around 4500 and I had 6700 which is a lot where I live we went to our mom saying it she said she let Sofia and max take it then grounded us for "talking back" which we did not do we went to our rooms and called our favorite auntie who gave Cole the game she said she would talk to our mom half an hour our mom came running in our room yelling we said we wanted our money back and she gave us since she made a lot from her job then left our siblings came into our room wanted to show off what both bought we didn't care and they got mad Sofia went to mom crying and max went to his room mad cole wanted to play but saw his PlayStation which is what we play on was gone we called our auntie again and Sofia came in our room saying we wouldn't ever get it back then left I got really mad and Cole got sad since he used a lot of his money on it a year ago of course he made more money but it was still annoying our mom called for dinner and I asked where his PlayStation was our mom said she gave it to Sofia and max because they deserved it more because "Sofia got amazing grades and max got on the football team" which Sofia got 42 out of 100 and max only made it because he gave the pe teacher the money he stole from us I said it wasn't fair and we never got anything when we did something our mom said "what have you ever got or won then" Cole got sad that she didn't remember anything we told her so I said "oh let me tell you Cole got 100 on english math and history exams he won three volleyball games in the past two months and is on top of his class I got 97 on english exams 93 on math exam I won two basketball games in the past week I'm on second in our class we cleaned the whole house everyday alone got 100 on all our homework " she looked shocked and said "well your brother have gotten a job and your sister have gotten a boyfriend" I said "max got fired for stealing from the store he works at on the first day and Sofia is cheating on her boyfriend with 6 different mem" our mom got shocked and said "well I'm sure there is a reason" Sofia laughed and said "yeah your just jealous because you can't get a girlfriend" and max said "for real just give up and see that we are the favorite" after I yelled "mom can't you see how a bad mom you are and you two not everything is about you " and went to my room pulling Cole along who was crying at this point our mom yelled that we are grounded for three months only thing we are allowed to do is go to school work and games

It punishes mistakes by lowering your score each question you get wrong. This is sinister and does not reward effort, leading to extreme frustration for students who struggle learning in this format. The long explanations are not helpful to those who are not verbally inclined. It also takes out pencil and paper, which is proven to help memory. IXL assumes you'll never need to work out any problem and never asks the student to get a pencil and scratch paper. This leaves tactile learners left out as well.
I've also found mistakes in some of the modules in both context and design, so they are essentially teaching the kids wrong information. For instance one module asked if x and y were "proportional" which teaches kids to compare y/x verses the change in y/x. This calculation will lead to problems calculating the slope of a line later on. I have found so many issues, I cannot recommend the program to any type of learner.
We need real people to teach these concepts instead of a computer program. A real person can help every learning style succeed. While game-style math learning has wiggled it's way in to every math curriculum, even kids that might benefit have a lack of positive feedback from an actual human.

Ever since i've been a child i've had these dreams about a man, its like im awake but dont realise i aint awake?? first dream i had was when i was 7-8. i was in my childhood room, keep in mind i cannot sleep for the life of me, and at that time i didnt have sleeping pills. so i was doing my normal playing with plushies late night game. my room was on the second floor and i lived in a small town, my house was ontop of a mountian with a big forest right outside my window. but a small road just before it. as i looked out it was raining, the small light coming from the street light but it was flickering cuz it was old, i watched the rain drop but got an uneasy feeling as i looked further into the forest i saw him, he was a man, tall, strong but not too strong to it being his only feature. he looked like a normal man. his left hand had an axe. and i started to sweat as he walked slowly towards my house. stopping under the dim light. then up the driveway, then watched me like i watched him. he threw the axe at my window, and i must've woken up, but i didnt realize i was dreaming it, so i fell off my bed and ran to my parents room yelling at them that 'hes here' and call the cops. i still to this day dont remember it being a dream.
as some time went by, i didnt sleep at all. but only night i fell asleep, but woke up to an uneasy feeling like the first dream. then i heard it, our doorbell. i somehow didnt get scared and just walked downstairs, knowing he was there. i opened our door, and walked out. it was propally in the middle of the night cuz it was fully dark. i started to walk towards the forest. knowing he was there. my ma stopped me. asking the hell i was doing. i straight up told her 'hes here' but then realised what i was doing. keep in mind, i was too scared as a kid to even leave my bed at night. i still dont get how i just walked out of the house without sobbing.
my dreams slowed down. i felt uneasy sometimes but kept telling myself it was a dream and i was okay, even tho i was actually awake. it fully went away in some years, moslty cuz i never slept. but when i moved to a diffrent place he came back. first one after a while was while i was babysitting this dog for two weeks, he had been there for a week atleast at that point. i woke up and went upstairs, sitting on the arm rest on my sofa and scratching the austrelian sheperds ears. he was pretty big so he was perfect height for it, but then he got a freaked out face on. like he knew someone was there but didnt dare to look. i was confused and got the uneasy feeling again, i looked over at this corner, as i look down i saw two shoes. and i know for a fact no one was home cuz it was summer break and everyone in my fam was at work. i didnt say a word, my breath stopped as i saw the shoes move a bit. then i woke up, with a full on panic attack. it felt so real.
some days later i dreamt another dream. it felt so real, i was doing my morning rutine, but when i came to the living room which is upstairs. i saw my whole family, mom, dad, and my big brother. they were towering over something on the floor. it was an dark aura around it as i kept asking them why there were home and not at work. but they had the same as the dog in the other dream had. i looked more down. the shoes were at the floor with some jakcet over them. but then somone started to crawl out of it, hands gripping the floor as it came to life. and i woke up.
after that he kept coming. one dream i had was while i was sleeping at my aunts in my childhood city. i dreamt like i was walking back to my old house, going to check it out. but when i came there, all the windows, door and carage was fully open and fully dark inside. all our stuff was thrown out of the house laying at the drive way. i went up and kncoked on the wall next to the open door. no one came so i turned around going to leave. but when i turned around someone grabbed me, dragging me inside the dark empty house. i looked down as it happened and then i saw it again, those shoes.
im starting to lose track on what happens after what, but i remeber always feeling awake as it happens, to the point i dont know if im awake or dreaming anymore. ive had plenty of dreams of just living and then seeing him stareing. then waking up. i wont name them all but imma name the worst ones.
still during the summer i was laying in my bed, my room is very small, and my window is next to my bed, but i got curtains over the window to block the sun light, i was watching tiktok as i layd there, but then i got that uneasy feeling again, i looked to my door, and the light in the hallway made it easy to see two shoes blocking the light. i sat more up, grabbing some scissors i had next to my bed on my desk. as i sat started to sit even more up i heard knocking on my window, i fully turned my eyes there, and it was a gap just with the curtians enough to see some of the window, and there he was sititng, leaning down to meet my gaze. same shoes as always. i woke up in a panic. i didnt even know if i was awake or not. but i looked towards my window, and it was a gap with my curtians, its never a gap there cuz its creepy.
Another dream i had was that me and my family was at this place, my pa was sunbathing and i was chilling inside. its like a hotell. i kept going out to check on my dad as it started to get dark and i got an uneasy feeling. i knew something would happen. as i went out again, i found my dad laying on his sunchair, only that his limbs had been awfully ripped off. just where is knees started his leg stopped, just where his elbow started his arm stopped. and he had that look on his face like in the others dreams whenever someone saw him. i ran inside agsin and got met by his gaze as i woke up in panic. i ran to my parents room as they were dead asleep. but i needed to check if it was real cuz it felt so real.
im seeing that im writing a lot so imma just hurry up with the newest ones.
one dream i was back at my childhood home, i was with my two friends from there as we were playing in some tunnels made from WW2. me and my friend was supposed to find our other friend cuz he ran away somewhere. but as we looked she also dissepeared. i looked around. i saw some stairs, i know exaclty where i am and is 100& i was there, the stairs leads you to the dakrest point of the tunnel, its like your eyes are closed cuz its fully dark, as i went down i stood still for a second trying to hear them. but only thing i heard was the mans heavy breathing. in every damn dream he has this heavy breathing. i woke up with a scream as i dreamt that.
this is the newest one, only last week i dreamt of him again.
i was biking to my nearest shop for a drink, as i went back my bike had stopped cuz something happened with it, it does that sometimes. so i walked instead. it was fully dark outside and raning just so slightly. but as i looked forward in the small street, i saw him walking towards me. his head slighty turned to his side like hes watching me. with a knife in his left hand. i woke up with my breath knocked out of me, i went out again with a friend, we were getting some snacks to watch a movie, it was late, so it was dark. she sat behind me on my bike as we biked the same way i did in my dream. i got like a deja vu from my dream. but i was awake for sure, cuz i had already dreamt. but then i saw him again. the sight made me crash the bike into a small hole. she fell off as well did i. i quickly sat up a bit and went to help her sit up from the fall. but then as i was helping her i felt that uneasy feeling. but i didnt turn. her face went like everyones face whenever they see him. i didnt have time to turn. the knife he held in the other dream went straight into her collarbones. i turned around in fear only to be met by him sitting close to me, watching me with a damn mask on, the mask is fully black wiht a white lines a cross of it with some 2-3 other small lines over it. i had, had a double dream. it felt so unreal. and i never know if im awake anymore.
i went to a therapist for it one time cuz i hadnt slept for two week straight, and my parents got worried, and they tried to sign me up for pills. but i told them i was getitng better cuz i didnt wanna take pills and get worse.
PS. one dream i had was that i was in school, i had a morning rutine. getting ready, biking down there, sititng in fucking math class, learning math!! but then i got an uneasy feeling as i saw him just stand next to the door to the classroom watching me. that was an annoying dream cuz when i woke up i actually had to do it all over again.
but he seems to alwyas hurt people i know but never seems to hurt me, just stare, watching or some touches. ive had one dream where he shot my two best childhood friends in my old woods at where i used to live. it felt so real, i saw their pain as i hid behind a rock, as he just shot them with a hunting gun. and while they're brains were dripping everywhere he just stared at me and walked closer till i wake up.

as some time went by, i didnt sleep at all. but only night i fell asleep, but woke up to an uneasy feeling like the first dream. then i heard it, our doorbell. i somehow didnt get scared and just walked downstairs, knowing he was there. i opened our door, and walked out. it was propally in the middle of the night cuz it was fully dark. i started to walk towards the forest. knowing he was there. my ma stopped me. asking the hell i was doing. i straight up told her 'hes here' but then realised what i was doing. keep in mind, i was too scared as a kid to even leave my bed at night. i still dont get how i just walked out of the house without sobbing.
my dreams slowed down. i felt uneasy sometimes but kept telling myself it was a dream and i was okay, even tho i was actually awake. it fully went away in some years, moslty cuz i never slept. but when i moved to a diffrent place he came back. first one after a while was while i was babysitting this dog for two weeks, he had been there for a week atleast at that point. i woke up and went upstairs, sitting on the arm rest on my sofa and scratching the austrelian sheperds ears. he was pretty big so he was perfect height for it, but then he got a freaked out face on. like he knew someone was there but didnt dare to look. i was confused and got the uneasy feeling again, i looked over at this corner, as i look down i saw two shoes. and i know for a fact no one was home cuz it was summer break and everyone in my fam was at work. i didnt say a word, my breath stopped as i saw the shoes move a bit. then i woke up, with a full on panic attack. it felt so real.
some days later i dreamt another dream. it felt so real, i was doing my morning rutine, but when i came to the living room which is upstairs. i saw my whole family, mom, dad, and my big brother. they were towering over something on the floor. it was an dark aura around it as i kept asking them why there were home and not at work. but they had the same as the dog in the other dream had. i looked more down. the shoes were at the floor with some jakcet over them. but then somone started to crawl out of it, hands gripping the floor as it came to life. and i woke up.
after that he kept coming. one dream i had was while i was sleeping at my aunts in my childhood city. i dreamt like i was walking back to my old house, going to check it out. but when i came there, all the windows, door and carage was fully open and fully dark inside. all our stuff was thrown out of the house laying at the drive way. i went up and kncoked on the wall next to the open door. no one came so i turned around going to leave. but when i turned around someone grabbed me, dragging me inside the dark empty house. i looked down as it happened and then i saw it again, those shoes.
im starting to lose track on what happens after what, but i remeber always feeling awake as it happens, to the point i dont know if im awake or dreaming anymore. ive had plenty of dreams of just living and then seeing him stareing. then waking up. i wont name them all but imma name the worst ones.
still during the summer i was laying in my bed, my room is very small, and my window is next to my bed, but i got curtains over the window to block the sun light, i was watching tiktok as i layd there, but then i got that uneasy feeling again, i looked to my door, and the light in the hallway made it easy to see two shoes blocking the light. i sat more up, grabbing some scissors i had next to my bed on my desk. as i sat started to sit even more up i heard knocking on my window, i fully turned my eyes there, and it was a gap just with the curtians enough to see some of the window, and there he was sititng, leaning down to meet my gaze. same shoes as always. i woke up in a panic. i didnt even know if i was awake or not. but i looked towards my window, and it was a gap with my curtians, its never a gap there cuz its creepy.
Another dream i had was that me and my family was at this place, my pa was sunbathing and i was chilling inside. its like a hotell. i kept going out to check on my dad as it started to get dark and i got an uneasy feeling. i knew something would happen. as i went out again, i found my dad laying on his sunchair, only that his limbs had been awfully ripped off. just where is knees started his leg stopped, just where his elbow started his arm stopped. and he had that look on his face like in the others dreams whenever someone saw him. i ran inside agsin and got met by his gaze as i woke up in panic. i ran to my parents room as they were dead asleep. but i needed to check if it was real cuz it felt so real.
im seeing that im writing a lot so imma just hurry up with the newest ones.
one dream i was back at my childhood home, i was with my two friends from there as we were playing in some tunnels made from WW2. me and my friend was supposed to find our other friend cuz he ran away somewhere. but as we looked she also dissepeared. i looked around. i saw some stairs, i know exaclty where i am and is 100& i was there, the stairs leads you to the dakrest point of the tunnel, its like your eyes are closed cuz its fully dark, as i went down i stood still for a second trying to hear them. but only thing i heard was the mans heavy breathing. in every damn dream he has this heavy breathing. i woke up with a scream as i dreamt that.
this is the newest one, only last week i dreamt of him again.

For example, in Arena, I picked up the Heavy Hitter augment, which causes your attacks to deal bonus damage equal to 3.5% of your max health. I shouldn't have to do the math on that, whether or not I can. The tooltip should have that number, based on my current values, right there in parentheses for me.
Isn't the whole point of the tooltip to add transparency to these things so that players can make better decisions? If it's not going to do the math for you, why even include the 3.5% value? League of Legends games shouldn't be won because one player is better at doing math on the fly than another; they should be won based on who makes the better game-based decisions and who has the better mechanics to execute on those decisions.

Hi, I don't post on Reddit much, but I've been stressing over this for way too long and need some input. I'm 30 years old, single, have a BS in Physics. Since I graduated, I've worked at factories in the area for about 5 years. Two years of that I worked as a process engineering technician, the other 3 years have been spent as a machine operator. I bought into the whole "get your foot in the door" and "these places love to promote from within" rhetoric and have started from entry level, but, without naming companies, recent management changes have made that essentially impossible and the culture has shifted towards just slapping associates with write ups at the drop of a hat, negating any ability to move up or around within the company. My resume isn't anything spectacular, but I have excellent manual dexterity, observational skills, upper level math/science, computer skills stemming from being around computers since I was able to read. My college capstone was in Optics, and my senior year my team delivered a presentation at the Society of Physics Students conference in Ft. Lauderdale on testing the reliability of pulse lasers. I'd like to think I have a decent spread of hobbies as well that could at least point towards other skills and aptitudes that don't come with a certification, such as electric guitar repair including wiring, I have a project car I bought non-running and have repaired the wiring and engine parts to have it now running reliably, I recently assembled an entire Warhammer 40k army and painted it myself, and dabble in video editing/photo editing in Adobe suite for personal video game funny videos/montages or what have you.
I'm looking at relocating, but trying to narrow down where I would want to move to and find jobs there with no responses through Indeed has been emotionally exhausting. I'm afraid I've wasted the last five years working entry level when I could have been doing something else to develop skills in an industry or something. I don't have involved parents or a support system either, which makes this all the more difficult.

Hiya Reddit, a little defeated I write this post but I don't know where else to ask. I first attempted going to UK university/college over a year ago where I did a course for game design & development, after not feeling I was being challenged in the right areas I left as to not waste any more money. Now I step a little more cautiously but its left me feeling restless and I just really need education to keep me motivated/distracted.
That said, I really enjoy Pixel Art and making sprites and such for video games, maybe its just my strong point and thats why I enjoy it, and I could possibly get the same enjoyment if I was good at another form but jumping in and taking a generalised art course or games art course I feel is too risky as it challenges many different 2D and 3D forms, and going into Art is already accepting I'm not going to be paid much so if It's not perfect its hard to settle.
I also feel I could develop my 2D Pixel artistic skills on my own without uni, but I'd enjoy the environment and give me something to do.
Alternatively, I've enjoyed programming too, I have experience with game modding, and thoroughly enjoyed computer science in GCSE as we worked with Python and building physical hardware, I understand this is the safer choice as its a much more respected industry and pays well but maths is really quite boring to me and I feel no security I'l enjoy it like I had before with new modules introduced. But I truly don't know until I've tried, and that gets expensive.
So in short I'm calling to computer scientists, artists, and people who know their shit about uni to tell me something I don't know or change my perspective.

This time, we'll take a look to the far east, where the Empire of Rising Sun used to be, at least in Red Alert 3 timeline. In the lands of Korean Peninsula and Japan Island, a branch of GDI, the Japan-Korea Defense Initiative (J-KDI) is in charge. This concept based on the Empire of Rising Sun from RA3 with many touches to fit in the scenario of the Tiberium Universe. As this region unique geography, society, economical and technological advances, the sub-faction leaned more toward urban warfare, drone combat and the fragile but versatile mech walker. As you already know, the Steel Talon also favor walkers but their mech are crude, rugged and focus on late-game punch, J-KDI mechs are more futuristic, high-tech, highly versatile, which is an odd for GDI doctrine, but when taking their operating region into account, the feat seem not very complicated, as Japan and Korea are the least suffered from the first two Tiberium Wars and designated as Blue Zones (Yes, even North Korea is a Blue Zone, maybe Kane get scared, who know?). I'm writing a transform class for my home project, and I ran into an issue. When having some specific angles, the composition/decomposition of transform matrix produces wrong rotation results (scale and translation remains correct). In particularly it looks like one of the rotation axies get's flipped. I've bang my and chatGPS's head into this for couple of days and feel firmly stuck. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
P.S. I know about quaternion superiority, I still would like to keep my Euler degrees for user convenience.

I know I can choose to pay to breed my cow with cows from different farms/the city(?), and I know that breeding a normal male cow with a different female cow (brown, star, or marble) has a decent chance of the baby matching the mother, so what I want to know is if I go to the option to breed my normal male cow, will brown/stamarble cows from different farms appear as options? I can't check myself because my sheep is currently expecting. (Though I'm probably going to start a new game since I did some math and sheep are not as profitable as I thought.)

2024.05.15 09:28 DevotedToExeter Destroyer spam discussion
IIRC right after rocket planes were nerfed (by being given a pre-launch delay) destroyer popularity surged massively. I don't think I'm exaggerating when I say I can count the times I've been in matches with less than four destroyers per side on two hands (EU server, don't know how it is in the other regions) since that specific CV nerf.
With submarines being popular too, this has become oppressive. There can be as many as SIX (4 DD + 2 sub) small buggers with low concealment per team running around the map, and there's no middle ground here - the side with the better destroyers wins the match most of the time, simply because those destroyers can keep the enemy ships spotted and allow teammates to push them around and farm them.
Adding to the above an aircraft carrier, and life for battleships and especially cruisers becomes hell as many (especially the latter) rely a lot on concealment to find good positions from which to apply pressure to the enemy team (be it via DPM or through radar).
Personally I'd request a tweak to the matchmaker to give a maximum of four slots in each team to be shared between destroyers and submarines, even if this makes queues for those classes slightly longer (can't imagine they'd be as bad as War Thunder queues where it can take 2-3 minutes to start a match). Also, there's the recent planned changes to aircraft carriers which may or may not go live. While I agree plane spotting is also oppressive, I hope those changes will be scrapped because if they go live I expect destroyers to become THE most dominant class in the game, no ifs or buts about it (an unchecked DD can freely control his side of the map right now by the way, though currently one has to be a bit lucky to get such a scenario).

With submarines being popular too, this has become oppressive. There can be as many as SIX (4 DD + 2 sub) small buggers with low concealment per team running around the map, and there's no middle ground here - the side with the better destroyers wins the match most of the time, simply because those destroyers can keep the enemy ships spotted and allow teammates to push them around and farm them.
Adding to the above an aircraft carrier, and life for battleships and especially cruisers becomes hell as many (especially the latter) rely a lot on concealment to find good positions from which to apply pressure to the enemy team (be it via DPM or through radar).
Personally I'd request a tweak to the matchmaker to give a maximum of four slots in each team to be shared between destroyers and submarines, even if this makes queues for those classes slightly longer (can't imagine they'd be as bad as War Thunder queues where it can take 2-3 minutes to start a match). I'm almost 800 hours into the game, and I'm starting to get pretty good at it... at least in single player. In multiplayer, I always get beaten up like a stupid xeno.
So I'd like to know your methods for building a powerful fleet. In principle, I leave the ship models on “build the best version automatically”, and I make fleets only of the biggest ship models I've unlocked (battleship).
What would you advise me to do to be more powerful?

Like one of the main hallmarks of your average mecha anime like Mobile Suit Gundam is an assault carrier that acts as a mobile headquarters for the pilots and their mecha. And these assault carriers can perform all sorts of support functions for these frontline units, such as repairs and maintenance, as well as long-range artillery support, a la a cleric and mage, respectively, from a medieval fantasy setting.
Which is why I find it funny that a lot of tabletop mecha games very rarely let you control your own assault carrier. And even if at times they do, like Battletech, it's usually in a completely different level of warfare, like large scale fleet combat instead of just one assault carrier and its mecha team at a time for smaller scale battles.
Like MechaTop, as one example. It let's you build and command a small team of mecha from your favorite mecha franchises, like Mazinger Z, Getter Robo, Mobile Suit Gundam, and Neon Genesis Evangelion. But not once do I remember reading any rules for controlling your own ship as your mecha units' mobile headquarters and mage and cleric analogue. And that much like the playable mecha units, they were going to be the same ships from said mecha franchises, like the White Base from Mobile Suit Gundam, or even from non-mecha sci-fi franchises, either, like the Space Battleship Yamato, the Bebop, or the Outlaw Star.
So why don't I see that many playable assault carriers in tabletop mecha games, like Battletech, Heavy Gear, Lancer RPG, and Beam Saber, like I would have in Super Robot Wars? Again, as mobile headquarters as well as mage and cleric analogues.
