I've been working on a new vocabulary self-learning app and could really use your help to test it out! Here’s what it’s all about:
Depending on feedback and how much time I have that's not purely spent on bug-fixing and improving existing features, I'll add support for more popular languages very soon.
And just as not to mislead anyone: This is not an app with curated courses like Memrise or Duolingo, nor is it a purely flashcard-based app such as Anki.
With Voqab, I'm trying a novel and unique approach: You add your own words as you're learning them using other sources such as books, YouTube videos or other apps, but the app uses the best spaced-repetition algorithm available (FSRS 4.5) based on the latest research and will help you memorize these words much more effectively.
Additionally, the app knows a lot about the language you're learning, and it will be able to give you automatic links to relevant online dictionaries, suggest an automatic romanization for Asian languages, understand particles for select languages and show them in sentence analysis, provide language-specific learning resources and help you getting a good feel for the language using the typing trainer, cloze deletion test, word quiz and tiered mastery system.

"OKAY, Lynn, I get it," I told her. "I'm disgusting to you. Absolutely repulsive. Lower than the lowest latrine scum, that's crystal clear. Okay? Satisfied? "
She said nothing. She continued to study the lake. I could not see the expression on her face. The dress she wore was very long and very gauzy; it brushed the colorless sand where she stood. Little lake creatures made their little lake creature noises. I swatted impatiently at a mosquito.
"I'm leaving, Lynn," I told her. "You're getting what you want. You'll never have to hear from me again. You'll never have to see my face. This I promise you."
Her figure twisted slightly as a shudder ran through her. Her skirts made a rustling sound across the sand.
My phone rang. I rolled my eyes, irritated at the interruption.
"This is Dr. Lowell," I snapped.
"Doctor, I'm so glad I got you." Marjory, my assistant. "Marika Waterson has stormed into the office, demanding another refill on her meds. The pharmacy turned her down and she's currently having a psychotic break in your office. We need you here."
I could feel a migraine forming behind my eyes. "I'll be there in twenty five minutes," I said to Marjory. "Get a sample from the pharma locker and give her three of them."
Something crashed on the other end of the line. "Doctor, she has thrown herself onto the ground and refuses to move. I think -- yes, she took out a chair leg on the way down. It's gone, Doctor. Unusable now."
I ground my teeth. "Well, calm her down, for chrissake, Marjory," I growled. "Give her the sample. Listen, Marjory, just give her four tablets, okay? Two full sample packs." Ms. Waterson was a substantial woman. "Sit her down in my office, tell her I'm on my way."
Marjory sounded doubtful. "Doctor, are you sure--"
"Marjory, I'm POSITIVE, okay? Give her the meds and calm her down. I'm on my way."
I clicked off. Lynn had not so much as moved a muscle. I shifted the canvas tote I had slung over one shoulder. The objects in there rolled and shifted against each other.
"Lynn, you have to speak to me," I told her, striving for patience. "You want me to leave. Stay gone. I understand that. I will DO that, Lynn. But please-stop pretending as if I don't exist! "
I moved up to where she stood, at the shoreline of the big water. Momentarily, her profile came into view. The sweep of her jaw line, the straight, true nose, the sooty black of her lashes against her pale skin. I felt a long, white - hot blade of loss slide into my guts as the realization hit home: I would never see her again.
Lynn finally turned to face me. She was crying. Her cheeks were wet. The tears were running freely down her face.
"I can't do it," she gasped. "I cannot do it, John. I can't stand to."
"You have to, Lynn," I said gently. "You've made your feelings perfectly clear. You want me to stay away--"
"I do!" she burst out. Her face twisted with some kind of disgust. "I hate you, I want you to go! To stay away!"
The long blade in my guts twisted, but I just nodded patiently. " I know. So you have to do this." I gestured at her, the canvas tote I held twisting in the still air. "Okay?"
She looked at the bag, her face a grimace of revulsion. Finally, she nodded.
I sighed. "Okay."
I brought the bag around, dug into it. Lynn watched silently.
"Here."
I held up two perfect Macintosh apples. Then I dug out two Pink Ladies, their mottled pinks and reds nearly glowing in the esoteric light of the setting sun.
Lynn gagged. "I hate them so much. "
"I know."
I brought out two green Granny Smiths to join the rest, and a blood red Fuji.
"But look at this variety! There see tastes you might like, or grow to like, no matter. And Lynn, you must remember--" I shook the fruit I held, for emphasis - "it takes only one a day. Just one apple a day. And we're through." Just as you wanted, I wanted to say bitterly, but did not.
"And you'll stay away?" she gasped. "It I eat the grotesque things?? You'll day away for good?"
I sighed again. Was I really so horrible?
"Yes, Lynn, " I said. "I'll stay away for good. I will have to, as the rules of this place dictate."
Finally Lynn snatched the canvas bag from me. She never looked at me again.
"Goodbye, John." Lynn turned back to watch the lake without saying another word to me.
I stood there a moment, lost in thought. Then I trudged away, across her stretch of beach and to my Jaguar XF. The I drove back to my office, to deal with the large distressed woman who had broken my chair.

My buddy has a little under 30k to spend on an adventure mobile to carry him to many adventures in the next chapter of his life. He believes a jeep is the best, most practical, capable vehicle he could get for this purpose. I don’t think he is wrong, but I told him he should get a Land Cruiser because of their renkown durability and capability. Outside of hardcore rock crawling a Land Cruiser excels in every other category, mud, water crossing, overlanding/ multi day expedition, really any kind of expedition camping, LITERALLY EVERYTHING he plans on doing. I’m recommending he import a troopy. A jeep would be too small, not as reliable, and unfit to pack some gear and people without losing the exceptional crawling ability that distinguished it in the first place. Please give me your two cents. Am I wrong to suggest him a cruiser??? Any input would be very much appreciated. We are on the Western Slope of Colorado for context, of course he’d go outside but really just around the Rockies/mountain west/high deserts.

Hey y'all. So I'm a junior planning to take the August SAT. I've taken the first 5 practice tests on College Board so far, and am currently at a 1290 (720 reading, 570 math). I am aiming for at very least a 1400. I really would like to improve my math score, but I am just unsure exactly how to study. I go over what I've gotten wrong in my practice tests, and that does help, but not enough. I would like to know a step-by-step guide of what I should be doing every day (Preferably I would like to study for 30 minutes a day and take a practice test every other week, but I have no idea whether that is ideal or not for my goal. School work, extracurricular activities, and my family is important to me too.)
I've heard Khan Academy is great, but I don't know what lessons I should be going over exactly. It's also worth mentioning that I'm autistic, so it takes longer for me to study/take tests than most people (I am taking the test with +50% time). So, I'm worried whether I'll be able to reach my goal or not. Do you guys have any suggestions or plans that have worked for achieving high scores (...in 3 months)? Thanks.

My daughter is entering grade 7 and for the first time she will be in the emotional/behavioral support class. Until now, she’s been in mainstream or resource room. Her issues are severe anxiety, severe adhd, level 1 autism which manifests as problems with executive function, self regulation, sensory issues, and pragmatics. She needs social skills help. She has a long history of school refusal.
She tests as gifted but lacks stamina and is highly demand resistant. She needs explicit instruction in math and writing and really could be mainstreamed were it not for the above issues.

I have passed accident and health and about to apply for that license. I have passed the general section of life but I am stuck on the law. I have tried to test 5 times so far and miss the mark. I’m not sure what it is I am missing but with examfx I can pass the practice exams 100% I’m not sure how come I can’t get that to translate but if ANYONE has some advice or information to help me I would truly appreciate it.

I’ve been out for three years. Three amazing, wonderful, painful, difficult years.
We were ALL in - I was practically a pastor's wife, as my husband was in training and preaching every week on Wednesdays. I co-led worship, Children's church, and women’s Bible study. I had two of my five babies while there, and my entire friend group was there.
And when we left - poof - all gone. They stayed because leaving meant they’d lose it all, too - so I don't blame them. All because we asked questions no one would answer, challenged questionable top leadership decisions, and ultimately couldn’t stomach being there anymore. And I would do it all over again.
I’ve done the healing work. I’ve read ALL the books, am in therapy, and have worked hard to find myself in it all - and though it was one of the most challenging times for my family, especially my marriage, the dawn is finally breaking. I’m ready to build a new community and make new friends.
But… but, but, but. What if they’re Trumpers? What if they’re evangelicals? What’s the litmus test? I’m neurodivergent, so making new friends has never been my forte. But I am so profoundly craving female friendship again. I want a tribe. I need it. My husband, who is fantastic and has been with me every step of the way, isn’t yet, so it’s hard for him to understand just how eager I am without taking it personally. So I’m online a lot on TikTok, and I'm here because it’s the only outlet that feeds this need.
I know I know… put myself out there. I’m already out there. I’m working a new job that I love, have wonderful relationships with my kids who are in sports every day of the week (5 boys), so I feel like there is no time for a “social life”. And it’s so awkward. And people already have their tribes.
I guess I need encouragement at this point bc telling myself my little island of family is fine is one of those lies I’m donedo telling myself.

I'm into my 4th week of meetings and have been reading the Big Red Book. In it, it discusses working through the steps with sponsors. We've had the question come up with our new members about how they actually find a sponsor. And I'd like to nail down a solid answer rather than respond with something that may sound nebulous. I read in another post that ACA doesn't really have "sponsors" in the traditional sense but, in practice, we work through the steps with fellow Travellers. If the Big Red Book says we should have a sponsor, people may feel obligated that they have to get one. And if we can't tell them how to do that, they may feel that they're doing ACA wrong, or their process is incomplete, without a sponsor. But in reality, I could see how attending meetings and going through the steps might be sufficient. I could see how being a sponsor could be a big responsibility and some people might not want to accept that responsibility. Thoughts on this topic?

I've been playing a game on my phone for a long time called "I love hue too". It helps me to focus on color in ways that benefit colored pencil and other art! It really trains my eyes to see cooler vs warmer colors, and really understand how certain colors interact with their contextual colors. For example, does that red have more blue or more purple? Is that green pure, or slightly muted? I better understand steps of gradation, and how specific colors blend visually.

Last week, I had this small papule that appeared on my penis. It quickly turned into a huge swollen red pimple that hurt like hell. But after few days, I took a shower and it changed into a chancre looking formation. The base is neither red nor is it producing puss or any other fluids, it is hard but not smooth and doesn't look like an ulcer, and the whole thing doesn’t hurt anymore. Could this be just a healing pimple (which is already much better) or a syphilis papule that got irritated and swollen due to masturbation? I’ll do the test soon but I’m feeling really restless and I’d like to hear your opinions. I don't know if I can add a picture link. It focuses only on the formation and is not very revealing. A burned drone who would not wake up, a student named Kerr, and a drone seemingly losing all touch with reality named Luther. They barricaded the room of the patient, and stayed in there for weeks as the room was well off the beaten path. One day, Kerr asked “So what are your stories?” when there was nothing to do. “I was part of the WDF at one point, as I was part of the military grade drone experiment. The others left me to die, but I didn’t and now here we are…” said Luther. Morris decided now was a good time to reveal his crimes, “I was part of a test of drone software stability against viruses, unfortunately I never regained complete stability. The parts of my software that were for sympathy and morals were corrupted, along with a thirst for violence appearing… have you heard the stories of the drone named Morris? That’s me, and most of them are true… I also killed several drones here. I was gonna torch the bodies but the undead stopped me, and the events up to here were (Go read the last couple chapters except for Fade to Gray).”

After getting them off I use my schizophrenia giving powers to their fullest extent, I alert V of my presence but that is subsided by the hesitation to come close. Apparently they do feel fear from me, now let’s see if they have memories. “What’s wrong N? Couldn’t deal with having to fight your girlfriends? You’re almost as pathetic as Nori… correction moreso, you just had to steal the kill from me.” This of course sends Uzi into what I can only describe as shock, so that answers that. Either way I turn all of them into slices of swiss cheese, however the bunker is still full and the others opt to leave the injured drone behind as their practically dead weight… no matter, for the dead won’t stay down for long and we have to keep moving. I stare in disgust at Uzi, a painful reminder of my past… I would spit but drones physically cannot (unfortunately?). No matter, through the forest the three of us unturned go…

Im testing soon (May 24th) and just making sure I am planning the rest of my materials properly. I am pretty close to my goal score (Ideally 512+ but hoping above 510) with my FL3 at 509 and FL4 at 508
I finished most of the AAMC material, just have the MCAT Official Prep Online Practice Questions from the Official Guide to the MCAT Exam, physics Qpack, and the biology Qpack 2, as well as 30% of CARS Qpack 2 left. I also have the scored FL5 to complete
Since I have a little more than a week, is it worth fitting in one more practice exam during this time, maybe tomorrow? I have a couple of Altius tests but they are third party exams so I am worried about the wording and if itll throw me off. I was thinking of doing this altius test tomorrow and doing FL5 a couple days before my actual exam date. Or would it to be better to finish up the AAMC material first, as well as FL5 and supplement with any additional UWORLD questions/other material? Also if that is recommended, when should I take my FL5.
Any advice would be appreciated! Let me know your thoughts.

So my husband and I had been feeling like bad so we went on a diet eating only lean meats and veggies with in a week I felt better than I had In years I was no longer feeling lethargic. I felt clear minded and more focused on thing I needed to do. My stomach felt good. So I did research and saw I may have a gluten intolerance or sensitivity. (or worse) I asked my doctor what to do and I had blood work done it came back negative and he said you dont have an intolerance and that’s it. He doesn’t want to do any other test.
So should I ask for more test and what should I ask for? I know that something is wrong and I want to be healthy I don’t want to think that it’s nothing and have something and the end up in the hospital.

 | I've been playing Tribunal for the past few months and I've used it to hit week 1 Infinite every month. It's basically a guaranteed Infinite as long as you know how to identify bots. Because Tribunal always has low power on the earlier turns, the bots will always Snap and you can collect your free 8 cubes. Decklist at the end. submitted by Kagros to marvelsnapcomp [link] [comments] TL;DR: Abuse bots with Tribunal and get easy cubes. Against human players, retreat liberally since you only need a 25% win rate to eventually reach Infinite. Deck Metas change, but Tribunal is forever. It's kind of like how Shuri Sauron used to be ol' reliable, before the power creep kicked in. To give an idea how just how steady this deck is, I've only changed it once over the past few months, which was when Zabu got nerfed (swapped it out for Sera). The Shang-Chi nerf at the end of last year made classic Tribunal playable, followed by the Omega Red buff in February really put the deck together. If Tribunal stops working due to the numbers not being good enough, I'd be very concerned with the state of the game. Right now, with the Patriot meta, running Tribunal might be a bit dangerous since Enchantress is back, but that's nothing our Cosmo can't handle. Always use protection. I see that the Negative version of Tribunal is running around a lot, but I don't find it as strong. It's great to hide the last turn play, but in my opinion is not consistent enough. Negative may have a higher ceiling, but you are just as likely to miss Iron Man and Mystique and zap down Onslaught and TLT. You also lose Iron Lad, which could come in clutch on Turn 7. As mentioned in the TL;DR, the strength in the deck is winning 8 cubes from bots. Because we don't put out much power turns 1-4, it's very easy to be losing two lanes, which will lead to the bot snapping on turn 5. You can easily snap back if you have the combo and generally, even if you don't have Magik, you can win games just off of a Iron + Tribunal stack without Onslaught. How To Play + NotesStandard line is Magik turn 3 or 4, and then Iron Man turn 5, Onslaught turn 6, and Tribunal turn 7 all in the same lane. The three cards in the same lane gives you 22 power across all three lanes if Magik is in another lane, otherwise it's 24 if you have all three in the same lane. As a result, you absolutely need to make sure you have enough turns to play your combo. If you can't, just hit that retreat button. There are ways around it which I give some examples below, but it's all about managing your energy to set up your combo. Without any shenanigans, you usually average around 28-30 power per lane which will win against most decks.If you fail to draw Iron Man before turn 5, Sera turn 5, Onslaught turn 6 on the same lane can let you play out Iron Man + Tribunal turn 7. Ravonna on T2 lets you play Jubilee on T3 and sets up a T4 Iron Man, so you can follow up with a T5 Mystique as a substitute for Onslaught in case you don't find Magik so you can T6 Tribunal. Cosmo, though, is the secret sauce to the deck. We are obviously weak to cards like Enchantress and cards that can zap Limbo out. While Cosmo will lose you a few games because you are locked out of Jubilee or Iron Lad, it will win you more cubes overall because you won't have to worry about a surprise tech card that loses you 8 cubes. You can always Iron Lad or Jubilee Tribunal on the last turn in a separate lane if it's still in your deck too. Cosmo will also hose some decks too like Destroy or Wong, so you can pick up those free wins with it. Super-Skrull is important for the mirror and also helps against all of the Ongoing decks. If I'm up against an ongoing deck, the right play is Super-Skrull + Mystique Turn 7 in separate lanes, one of which has Onslaught on it. Super-Skrull however does make you weak to Loki, though if you see Loki, you best bet is the retreat. Same with if you think it's stolen by Cable. However, just remember that if you have Iron-Man + Onslaught out, their Skrull will not double the Iron-Man effect, so it can still be winnable. Omega Red is an interesting card and might take some practice because timing matters for Omega Red. If you are winning the lane Omega is played in when you drop Tribunal, it becomes much more harder to disrupt because the boost Omega gives you will also be applied to that lane. I usually like to play Omega Red not on my Iron Man + Onslaught stack because the +3 power can be multiplied through that stack while not taking up a spot on that location. You can play Omega on the stack if you'd don't other cards to fill the stack, but I like to think of it as a fifth card on the stack than have it take up space. As for cards to watch out for, anything that changes locations is bad. Retreat if you are up against Thanos and they have reality stone. Snowguard Hawk and Legion are even more dangerous, because Cosmo will not be able to stop these unless timed precisely. Enchantress, Rogue, and Red Guardian are all dangerous. Cosmo protects against these though. Magneto could hose you if it plugs up your Iron Man lane before you play Onslaught. Locations don't matter too much since we start our game plan after turn 3. I like to spread out my early plays just in case. If you ever see Mojoworld, make sure it's filled. If your opponent doesn't fill it for whatever reason, you win just by playing Tribunal. Locations that give cards additional power should be played on. Magik away any restrictive locations. As for substitutions, you can always swap out Skrull for another tech card, especially if you are afraid of it being used against you. Everything else I think has a role in the deck. Overall, I find this deck to be very solid for climbing. Give it a try; it's basically Solitaire imo. Happy to answer any questions on piloting the deck.
