2024.06.08 16:34 Allasie Presenting a birthday gift using board/social/card games

Hello lovely board game enthusiasts! My brother any I are in dire need of help with setting up a, lets say, gifting "ceremony" for my mother and stepfather. We came up with this idea considering playing games (cards, board games, console etc..) has always been a big part of all our lives, and still is whenever we meet up as a group. So as a big gift for our parents combined 60th birthday celebration we decided to present their gift in some sort of a game-show/guessing game mashup with the two of us being the hosts. (The actual gift they have to work up to being a lovely Greece cruise) Now the issue is, we are both as creative as a bag of bricks so we would appreciate some assistance if possible..for now we have thought of some sort of Pictionary - Alias - Who wants to be a millionaire - Pantomime hybrid that could work well. Any random ideas that could kinda imply the "main reward" without it being massively obvious (mom is a beast at guessing games), along with what we could incorporate in our routine would be greatly appreciated. I am sorry if this is a completely wrong place for this kind of request, if you could gently redirect me to a correct subreddit I would be happy. Thanks!

2024.06.05 05:07 GulltheCactus [F4M] Taking Your Girlfriend on a Date to the Mall [Cute] [GFE] [Girlfriend Speaker] [Boyfriend Listener] [Shopping] [Established Relationship] [Mentions of Sex] [Caught in the Dressing Room?]

Sorry for all of the scripts I am dropping in such a short amount of time and flooding the sub; I’m having fun with it haha. A script concept that my fave vtuber (and best friend) CelineWhitetail requested!
Okay to monetize, okay to paywall (share with me), okay to gender swap, okay to edit if it is to make changes related to swapping of genders but nothing else (there is a line in there about dudes not being allowed in the women’s dressing room so, that might be a challenge to adapt).
If you like this and want to record it, please credit me as GulltheCactus on Reddit, Twitter, or Twitch!
Scriptbin link: https://scriptbin.works/s/84c4w
A longer NSFW version will be posted on the sister spicy sub and on my Scriptbin!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
[mall ambience, sneakers on tile]
Okay, I still can’t believe you’ve never had a date at the mall. It’s like…a rite of passage in high school.
Yeah, I mean, you would go to the mall with your friends on a Friday night and all of the boys would go too and you would awkwardly flirt by teasing and playing hard to get in the food court until one couple got brave and dared to break away from the group and hold hands. Then the rest of the group would make fun of them while the guy would buy his new girlfriend stupid things from Hot Topic! Malls are perfect for dates!
I mean why not? There’s everything here. You can get a soft pretzel, boba tea, new shoes, and dodge around preteens at every turn, all without going back outside the comfort of slightly stale central air conditioning.
Haha, okay okay. It’s a little dorky. But it’ll be fun. Come on, hold my hand and buy me things I don’t need from Hot Topic, babe.
Really? I mean, that’s fair. I think I’ve been in Hot Topic like…once. And that was somewhere around…2007. Do you think they still sell anime t-shirts and like…those edgy little decorations that were shaped like boobs or dicks?
I swear to god, I am not making that up. It was scandalous to go into Hot Topic because you’d probably see a cartoon penis.
Ohhh, you’re right! That was Spencer’s! Yeah I guess they were both a little too edgy for highschool me. [lowers voice] I was a good girl then.
I don’t know, have you done anything to deserve me being good, huh? Hah, yeahhhhh, you are pretty alright, I guess.
[giggling and more mall chatter ambience]
Ooh, yeah, it smells amazing. I think it’s the Great Cookie upstairs? Or…does the Great Cookie exist anymore? It occurs to me now that I’m walking through this mall that I don’t think I’ve been here in literally 15 years so my mall intel might be severely out of date.
Well, where did you want to go? Start at this end and just go through the whole first floor?
…Well what did you have in mind?
Okay, I accept. But just know that I am gonna kick your ass. I can think of like five different stores that are already competing for the title of “freakiest merchandise,” so finding the weirdest purchase in this mall will be child’s play, babe.
Okay, okay. I still think I’m going to kick your ass, but it’s a deal. You pick the store I have to buy something from, and I pick your store. Winner gets…hmm, let’s let the winner decide for the extra stakes. Shake on it?
[a quick kissing noise from boyfriend]
Hah, you and your kisses won’t distract me. You’re looking at a woman who has never backed down from a challenge in her life. So do you want to go straight to our respective challenge stores or just make it a surprise?
Sounds good to me. We’ll delay your inevitable demise.
[walking along, mall ambience]
Awww, I loved this store when I was in high school and college!
Yeah, it’s like a slightly more expensive boutique, you know, jewelry, bags, scarves, etcetera. It looks like they have a few more dresses and things than they used to.
Nah, I don’t think it’s really my style anymore, I was preppier back then. But it’s a nice nostalgia moment.
What about you? I think they have a Games Workshop and there’s another little local DND and comics store just a few stores down.
Yeah, I think it’d be cool to check out! Do you have any physical dice? I know you pretty much always play online so…
Aww, that’s so cute! Do your siblings still have their sets too?
I love that. We mostly played board games, and usually only when we went over to my one cousin’s house.
No, I’ve never played it but everyone talks about how fun Catan is. We played like 90’s and oughts popular games. You know, Monopoly, Scattergories, Pictionary. Ooh, I loved Cranium, I destroyed at that game.
No, I don’t know what you mean. I am a perfectly well-adjusted and not at all overly competitive individual, thank you.
But yeah, I also wanted to try…the Hill House one?
Yes! Betrayal at the House on the Hill! That one! Everyone in my Friday DND group tells me it’s so fun and I’ve never had anyone in person to play it with.
Really? Yesssss! Okay come on it’s right here.
[distant greeting from an employee]
Hi! I’m great, how are you? We’re just looking right now, thanks!
Okay so the board games are over there—Ooh, look at those dice! Are those glass? They’re so pretty! And look, babe, they match this set. Oh and wait, look at these dice trays!
[sound of footsteps moving away]
[slightly more distant, talking to an employee] Yeah! I play on Roll20 and Foundry online, I’ve never had any physical dice…
[sound of your own footsteps, picking up a board game or two and pieces shift in the boxes]
[getting closer as she speaks] Hey babe, so those dice trays are made by a local guy—I got a business card for his Etsy too—and they’re two for $45–
[pause]
Haha, wait how did you have time to grab all of this stuff—Oh my god is that a Yuumi plushie?! She’s so cute, oh my god!
Aww, babe. You really were gonna hold my hand and buy me things. Okay, wait, new plan for this store. I saw things I wanted to get you, too, so let’s split up and then meet at the front of the store after we pay?
[peck on the cheek sound]
Okay, see you soon!
[more footsteps and shopping sounds, eventual beeping of the card reader as you pay]
[the crinkle of a plastic bags]
Hah, I’m smiling because I’m excited to show you what I got you! Come on, there’s a free bench over there.
Okay, so, I remember how much you said you liked this anime as a kid, and they had a section for model building so…Ta da!
Yeah! I remembered you loved the one that could change its armor and then as soon as I saw the blue version and the orange one I was like, yep, Liger Zero Schneider, that’s the one.
It was on sale!
…Like 15% off? Come on, you love it though, right?
See!
Yeah, and I love that. I’m so excited to play Betrayal at the House on the Hill and Catan. And that Yuumi plushie is going right on my desk.
Yeah? …Okay! But let me show you what I got us both first!
Here, this one’s for you, and this one’s mine! Aren’t they awesome? The guy does his own woodworking and staining and then his wife designs the fabric for the trays!
Haha yeah! See look, I got the one with the lilacs and daffodils and roses, and you’re the suns with the fun sunglasses!
Of course you’re the sunshine! You’re my sunshine.
Nope, you are.
We’re not arguing about this in public, we’re too disgusting, I refuse. This one is yours. And I got you these dice!
Look they have little quotes from famous literature all pasted on the inside.
Yeah, of course you do, it’s cause you’re such a nerd, babe.
[peck on the cheek]
You’re right, I do love it.
[dice clacking together]
Wait, aww! They’re so cute! The orange ones look like Amber, oh my god! I didn’t even see these cat dice!
Hah, sneaky sneaky. But yeah, that makes sense, I did see you go talk to the guy at the dice counter like instantly.
And then—
…What? It’s just one more thing, I promise! And it’s small!
See, look! It spins! And you can keep it on your keys, so anytime you need to make a choice and can’t decide, you can spin it and the d20 can decide for you.
Hah, yes, I do love you anyway, but the times when neither of us can come to a decision point make me want to cry sometimes.
Haha, love you!
…Okay? Why?
Wait, I didn’t know we were doing the bet yet. I thought I was supposed to pick your store.
Okay, okay. I’ll close my eyes, fine!
I’m scared, why is this box so heavy?
[horrified pause]…Oh my god—
Stop laughing! Oh my god, you did not—!
Why am I trying to hide it? [lowered voice] Maybe because I don’t want everyone in the entire mall to know I’m an anime degenerate, okay?
No, you did not win!
Yes, I am horrified because you probably just spent $400 on a statue of Sebastian from Black Butler, and no, the ridiculousness of the situation is not lost on me.
I mean, no, I don’t think I could buy you something worse than this.
…I don’t think it’s any of your business where exactly I am going to display this stupidly detailed figure of my anime husband in my room, okay? That’s private.
No you didn’t win.
No—
[a sigh] Okay, fine. I cannot think of something that would horrify you more than this purchase horrifies me.
No, I’m not going to say it.
Because you cheated. You used deeply held, embarrassing anime knowledge against me. Humph!
[peck on the cheek sound] I said it before and I’ll say it again, you will not distract me with your kisses.
Oh? And just what is my punishment for losing exactly?
[annoyed sound] You will use any excuse to allow yourself to buy me fancy clothes and things I don’t need, won’t you?
You’re ridiculous. [peck on the lips] Thank you, you don’t have to.
Hah! Okay, fair. So where exactly are you taking me to buy said clothes you want to [lowers voice flirtatiously] take back off of me?
Oh geez, babe. Nordstrom’s is so overpriced!
No, you didn’t win, you cheated! I am holding hands and following you under protest! I am gonna file an appeal with the Silly Couple Amateur Bets Commission.
Wait, hold on. Please don’t spend too much?
No.
No!
$200.
No way! $250.
I am being reasonable, you’re the one saying you want to buy me $5000 worth of clothes for no reason!
Yeah, a date to the mall. We’re supposed to go split a lemonade and a soft pretzel from Auntie Anne’s, not spend a down payment on a car.
[sigh] $1000.
[mock threatening] Fine. And if you spend a cent more—
[hushed, slightly embarrassed tone at saying this in public but still trying to be threatening] I won’t go down on you for a month!
[indignant] Yes I could!
[deadpan] I hate you.
Thank you. $1000 is already an insane amount to be spending.
Oh?
Okay, okay. I can get behind that. But I do get to veto clothes I really don’t think I will look good in.
Yeah, okay. Laying it on a little thick aren’t you, buddy?
Yeah, well, you’re handsome.
Okay, so the women’s clothes are on the next floor up I think.
[escalator noises]
Yeah, I got my prom dress at a Nordstrom’s, I went with a couple of my friends.
This might shock you, knowing what you know about me, but it was…green.
I know! I’m predictable. What can I say? Nature-loving bitch right here.
[stifled laughter] And I’m sure you looked stupidly handsome even in your pale blue suit.
Okay, so, where do we start…?
Hah, fine. But remember your limit.
Ooh, this is cute! And the blue lace would match that one tie I got you last year.
Yeah, it brings out the hazel flecks in your eyes.
Okay, wow. Yeah that is—Babe, that dress is $400!
Fine, fine, but I’m tallying! I’ve got my phone out, calculator right here!
But fine, what else did you want me to try on?
…To be honest, I’m sort of surprised you didn’t start at the lingerie and bathing suit section.
Ooh, look at that one! Do you think I’ll look dumb with all the straps? I’m just hoping it’ll make my boobs look good.
Yeah, of course you would say that, you’re down bad.
Haha, of course. [whisper] I’m down bad for you too.
[clicking of hangers against each other on the racks]
Hmm. What do you think about—
…Babe. That bikini is practically microscopic. I don’t think I can even try that on in the store.
Okay, okay, I’ll give it a shot.
Anything else you want to throw on the clothing pile?
You do realize that every new thing you add is probably another 5 minutes in the dressing room right?
Alright, alright. They have a five item limit so I guess you’re waiting your butt out here with the rest of it.
Yes, it is a cute butt. I’ll be back soon.
Yessss, I know. I will show you everything that fits.
[quiet department store chatter]
[squeak of a dressing room door and a hushed stage whisper] Babe, I cannot walk out there and show you this bathing suit.
[still a stage whisper] Because it’s tiny! Basically all you can see is my underwear.
Then come in here!
[the sound of the dressing room door creaking again] Tada?
Hah, okay, calm down. Sure, my boobs look great but—
[shutting and locking the door as footsteps approach]
[whisper] Shh!
Because you’re not allowed to be in the women’s dressing room.
[the sound of clicking hangers on a rack, footsteps coming closer, more clinking…and the footsteps walk away]
[quiet bursts of laughter for a long time] Okay, okay. That was close.
Oh?
Hah, yeah, considering I’m not letting you leave until I’ve finished changing and can be your lookout, I guess you really did win the bet. [flirty whisper] Enjoy your front row seat, babe.
[kissing sounds as the mall ambience outside fades out]
2024.06.04 01:24 LyrePlayerTwo Slumber Party in New Argos June 3
(OOC: This post is split into Camp Half-Blood and New Argos sections. Please be conscious of where your characters are and mention it somewhere in your comment!)
+++++
Camp Half-Blood
The voting booth pops up in the dining pavilion during dinner, set up by some of Harper's Muse cousins. Handmade signs advertise that the polls close Tuesday (tomorrow) at midnight EST, so they hopefully get their answers in quickly.
Additionally, board games and card games are stacked on one of the emptier tables, inviting campers to mingle and play games. Who knows who you might get an Iris Message from while you play?
+++++
New Argos
It's nice to have the Internet again. Harper borrows a few laptops from the city library so that the newspaper team can type out their articles for Harper. It wasn't that big of a deal to input all their handwritten articles into that computer at the Big House, but this is less of a headache for her. She also makes an online form for collecting responses, so she can send her friends out to collect QOTD votes more easily.
Something about having a meeting in the middle of their quarters made the whole thing feel less formal, so Harper decides to invite the rest of Camp Half-Blood and turn this into a slumber party night.
In the activity pavilion, tables have been pushed aside to make space for as many campers as possible, as well as extra pillows and blankets. Pop music plays from some random kid's Bluetooth speaker. Extra laptops make their way around the room, so campers can fill out the QOTD form, take personality quizzes, play ancient Flash games, or do whatever they want. Some people bring nail polish so they can paint each other's nails, and a group of campers, led by an Iris kid who gets free messages, take to prank Iris Messaging kids at camp, just to see what they're up to.
Card Games, board games, and party games are piled high on some of the lounge tables, including but not limited to:
Games:
Hot chocolate, coffee, tea and other sugary drinks are available for consumption, as well as bags of chips and cookies from a local grocery store. Harper sends invites to the other camps as well so their champions can attend, but something told her it was not likely that they would show up.
2024.06.01 11:25 moxieme2022 If you get so lucky as to get placed at IES Abastos...
I just finished my first (and only) Aux year at IES Abastos in Ciudad Valencia and am headed back to the US in a week and at that time I plan on disconnecting from all the Aux groups and moving on with my life, but before I go I wanted to leave a message here for any future Aux who may search for this school name when they get their placement...you are so damn lucky! Congratulations! (and if you want any additional information please respond to this post and I'll try to keep an eye out for notifications this summer).
It's an amazingly beautiful building right in the heart (!!!) of Valencia city, staffed with friendly and talented teachers and staff. It is an IES (high school) and an FP (vocational school--Computer (IT, web design, AI) and Business tracks. The teachers I worked with (in all of the above programs) all spoke excellent English. The administration is easy going but often super busy so if they forget to give you a printing card or computer login or bathroom key, just remind them ;-)and generous re scheduling, etc. They asked my preferred hours and I only worked 3 days (16 hours) a week, Tuesday-Thursday! 4 day weekends! Not promising they can do the same for you, but if they can they will. But the compromise for my compact schedule was that every class was a different group and/or subject, which was a lot to keep track of initially, prep-wise, but I learned you can often reuse/adapt the same lesson across different groups. I came to know the faces but alas not the names of the approx 200 students I saw each week.
The students were never disrespectful (not intentionally anyway--they ARE mostly adolescents though, so not paying attention or acting like, well, hormonal teens, is par for the course). There's a lot of projector use in the classrooms versus board work. Often the teachers will want you to come up with your own lesson plans (based on what they are covering or simply whatever you want) and yes, it can eat up several hours of your off time if you want to have fun with it (but it makes your work week so much more rewarding) but if occasionally you can't, they understand. You can always play pictionary or hangman or 20 questions or some other easily adapted game at a moments notice--I highly recommend building that skill. For example: oh, we are doing past tense vocabulary today and you want me to do something for 15 minutes at the end? I draw a tic tac toe grid on the board, quickly divide the class into teams (competition is popular!) and have one rep from each team come to the board and who ever can write the past tense of a particular word first gets to put their X or 0 in first, before the other team. Repeat until one team wins 3 in a row. Easy peasey.
FYI, I have posted some of the most rewarding lessons I did with my classes on the FB Auxiliary Secondary lesson planning (Madrid) group and I used several that others had posted there too. Check it out. No reason to reinvent the wheel.
This year the Valencia payments were consistently on time (around the 10th of the month, give or take a day, starting in November if you got your bank info submitted asap--I recommend N26 online bank). Housing can be competitive and spendy, expect to spend at LEAST 400 euros for a room (not an entire apartment) if you want to live relatively close to the school and it may take you awhile to find one (I have no personal advice to offer re: that as I used my savings to rent an adorable but expensive apartment to live on my own and host guests from home, I just know what other Auxes told me). Getting your TIE/toma de huellas appt will be a nightmare but just grin and bear it. The metro and bus system in the city is wonderful and I got a valenbici subscription vs purchasing a bike and made ample use of it and the protected bike lanes (there's a protected lane that goes directly to a valenbici bike station in front of the school!). There are several local Valencia Aux Whatsapp groups you should join (for info, Auxiliaries VLC 2022; for fun/meet ups, Valencian Kids) as well as local Whatsapp hiking groups (if you are so inclined to join amazing local hikes on the weekend).
Not gonna give a travel review of Valencia itself but suffice to say it is AMAZING! And Fallas! Oh.My.God. The first two weeks of March are INSANE! Enjoy!
2024.05.21 18:48 Low_Manufacturer_978 Dream Idol Group Game
I'm hoping to get some input into something I'm trying to get going at my job. Any advice, input, or ideas would be appreciated!
I'm a librarian assistant and do programming at my branch. I've loved kpop for a while now (TXT is my ult) and decided to try to start a kpop club. I've come up with some games (so far I've got kpop guess who, kpop bingo, and kpop charades/pictionary, as well as kpop-themed playing cards, although these might just be prizes b/c they aren't too sturdy). We'll meet once a month starting in September.
What I need help with is a sort of Ultimate Idol Group game set up and played similar to Fantasy Football, except it's based on awards show wins. Each player picks an individual member out of a group, taking turns so one person can't pick all the big winners, just like the draft in football, until they have seven members total. Each player will be responsible for tracking their members wins/loses (which I'll also be tracking to verify) and at each meeting we'll tally the current score and trade members, if desired. I'll come up with some sort of prize for the winner in January (I think that's when the last major award show in Korea is held).
So, does this sound like something kpop lovers would enjoy? Does it even make sense or sound feasible at all? Should I limit certain things - like which award shows to count or which groups are included in the draft? If players pick more than one member from one group, how should I score each win? Two points or it still only counts as one? I don't want to track every minor award and/or music show win b/c that sounds overwhelming and stressful and I don't even know how many there are. Should foreign awards be included or is that too exclusionary to bigger groups? Also, should I allow trading members or does that add in too much confusion? If they do trade, do they lose current points potentially won by the previous member?
Anyway, I was really excited by this idea, but, having never played fantasy football, I'm a little lost in the woods about how to break it down, especially with the award show aspect. If you have any advice or tips or have already spotted a giant plot-hole in the game, please let me know! Thanks in advance!!
2024.05.13 04:04 rachelcp Which Cranium game should I get next?
There's a TLDR at the bottom.
I stumbled across an old cranium cadoo game at a 2nd hand shop. We replaced the old crusty Playdough with some new play dough and gave it a try last night.
It was fun but it became very obvious that the game was intended for very young children, and as such was far too easy for adults. There are for instance instantly spottable spot the difference cards. There are cards that are super easy questions e.g what word do the pictures combine to make?: 📌🅾️🔑🅾️ (pinnochio) or what is logically wrong in this picture and there is clearly only one person on the seesaw and yet that person is raised up. Etc.
There were also problems with the game play itself. Basically each person has a pile of tokens that you can use to place in a grid the goal is to complete connect four. If you have a combo card then the person who guesses what you've drawn, sculpted, or acted will share the same grid section as you, but if you have a solo card then only you have to figure out the answer yourself and so only you get that square. There is a dice that has 3 options (combo card, solo card, or you choose) obviously if the end goal is to place tokens and to prevent others from placing tokens then it makes sense to always choose solo. Therefore 2 thirds of the time you're solving the way too easy logic cards as described above, rather than the combo cards while combo cards are really the only ones that can potentially be a challenge.
The only solocard challenge that could potentially have difficulty is the scavenger hunts however us being the lazy adults that we are all of the scavenger hunt cards were skipped.
The combo cards rely on the card taker looking through red lenses to see a secret word that others have to guess. Through pictionary, charades, or sculpting. These were the funnest cards, but we found that everyone else at the table had difficulty in reading the secret word. My mother in law had the most difficulty and could not read any of the words regardless of lighting scenarios, no matter how hard she tried to maneuver the card and lense to see, whenever she got a combo card she had to make up a random word instead of using the secret word, because if she can't read it then the only alternative would be for someone else to read it which basically forfeits their round. The other 2 players were able to read the card but stated that they struggled and had to look at it at a precise angle. I was the only one that could clearly see the word through the lens regardless of what angle i was holding it at. I theorize that this is because I am the only one without glasses, and all 3 others had glasses, perhaps their glasses and the red lense badly interfere with each other? My MIL as well as having glasses had laser eye surgery to improve their vision which might be why she was the only one completely unable to read the words? It is worth noting that the issue was not the size of the words as all three are able to see small words as long as they are wearing their glasses.
No one ever made connect four, just like 2 adults of reasonable intelligence going up against each other will never have a winner at tic tac toe. But luckily in such a scenario the game can still be won by whoever has the most tokens down.
We had a lot of fun with the combo cards as acting drawing and sculpting is enough of a challenge. It was also a lot of fun blocking everyone from making connect four.
Because it was a lot of fun but just aimed at a too young audience, I figured it might be a good idea to see if there are other cranium games that were made more for adults rather than for young children, and well there are a lot of different versions. I have no idea which ones are better than the others what kinds of cards they have or their difficulty levels. Or what game play would be missing. I'm not particularly any good at trivial pursuit for instance so while I'm hoping to avoid another young kids game I also don't want the difficulty levels to be too high.
TLDR: I don't know which cranium game I should get next, there's just so many, and I don't know their difficulty levels, I don't know what gameplay is missing or added to each or primarily what kinds of logic cards are in each game. Cranium cudoo had fun moments but is aimed at a far too young audience. Trivial pursuit on the other hand is too far in the other end.
Are you familiar with any of the different games e.g Cranium Hoopla, cranium afterdark, Cranium standard, Cranium anniversary edition, Cranium Primo etc?
What are their main differences, what would I be missing out on choosing one over another?
2024.04.29 21:25 throwaway-swing-time Gen X Dallasites, would there be any interest in a meetup group for our generation?
Edited to add on Tues., 4/30: I'm happy to have received some interested comments - thank you! The rest of this week I'll try to come up with a more definite plan. I'll also try to figure out a good way to update folks.
I really appreciate the friendly nature of this sub, especially posts by Just Me in Big D, Kristina Rowe (I don't know how to link to her but if she sees this, hello!).
I'm an older Apollo Gen X married woman (55) who's lived in East Dallas my whole life except for college. I've made some good friends here, but many of them have moved, especially recently. I'm not a D and D person, but I love more social games like Pictionary and Taboo and even some card and board games like Skipbo and Sequence. I'm wondering if any other Dallas-area Gen Xers would be interested if I planned a meetup either to play one of these games? (If not, would another kind of Gen X meetup be a better fit?)
Folks of other ages would be welcome, too! I just don't see many meetups specifically for Gen X.
So you'll know more about me, here are some things I love related to Texas and/or Dallas:
-our beautiful Fair Park and the fair (including Fletchers corny dogs, natch)
Anyway, fellow Gen X Dallasites (and others if you're interested), any interest in a game meetup or something else?
2024.04.28 17:44 purplepixiepesto Board Game Nights in Marikina
I saw someone post about trivia nights. My bf and I are okay with trivias but we have a collection of board and card games with no one to play with so I think board game nights is also a great idea. Anyone in? Not sure though where we can play, closest place we know is at UP Town but we don't know any possible venue within Marikina.
EDIT: I received a few questions through chat. Posting them here for others to see as well.
  1. My bf and I are in the late 20s to early 30s, but we really don't care what you're age is as long as you're not a minor hehe.
  2. Here are the games we have.
For Board Games: Betrayal, Monopoly, Life, Scrabble, Chess, Taboo, Guesstures, Catan Series, Pictionary, Boggle, etc.
For Card Games: Unstable Unicorns, Exploding Kittens, Magic The Gathering, Dungeon Mayhem, Uno, Here to Slay, Happy Little Dinosaurs, etc.
  1. You can bring your own board and card games too.
  2. We live near Ayala Feliz but willing to go anywhere in Marikina or nearby.
2024.03.25 23:38 throwaway9628175 She can't be real
I[20F] never liked her[23F] since the first day I met and I knew that feeling wasn't for nothing. She's a friend's friend so I tried to do some efforts but she's those kind of pick me girl and I'm tired of it. The worst part is that nobody noticed it. Like her friends are always telling her "you're amazing", "you're so pretty", "how are you able to do that" and people around them are certainly influenced and repeat the same too. And she doesn't even thank them for the compliment, most of the time she says nothing or would throw the card "I'm not that good".
She says she doesn't care about the sex of her friends, that she hang out with girls and boys but ony three of her friends are girls, all the rest are men. She claimed it is because in the educational courses she chose most of the students are men but some of her female classmates have a majority of girls in their social network. Apparently she can do everything that of course everybody admires, and every time she must put the light on her. Somebody needs help with maths? She will solve the problem in second. We are playing pictionary? Of course she knows how to draw. There is a piano at a chill meeting between friends? Of course she can play. There is a ps4 at a party? Of course she beats everyone. On the dancefloor ? Of course she would know how to dance and every ten minutes a guy will try to approach her. And she likes to pretend that she has never dated. I think people don't want to criticise her so to not appear as r*cist, because they can have a clear and objective opinion about everyone except her.
And obviously, she's cute. I don't see her as so outstanding than other claim to be but I can see why they think she's cute. Even if I think her personality doesn't make it better. She eats everything at anytime but she's thin and tall like a supermodel. Her roomate told me than during a week she ordered uber eats for at least five days, didn't go out, didn't do any exercise, but didn't get a single pound. During lunch she always take a big plate of french fries, but did she gain some weight ? No. I think she lies about it, or think she eats more than what she really does.
She claims she doesn't have a type, that it's like music or movies, as long as the guy is good she likes it, and the inside matters, blabla. Yeah that's why she is currently dating with the tall, sportive, intelligent and rich guy that everyone likes. He's [25F] like the spitting image of Henry Cavill, just younger. At first I didn't find him attractive, but because he was kind I started to hang out more with him. He was obviously interested (a friend of his told me) but never made a clear move even if I clearly show him that I wanted too. It lasted one year but he told nothing during all that time.
They say that guys always fly around the prettiest girls but it's not that true. Maybe I sound bitter and I'm mad because I could be with him instead of her but I think she's double face and hide her true self. It's like she has no flaws, but everybody has one. And she likes to always be right. Even when she's not. And when she doesn't agree with someone, she would say "I understand but I'm not convinced", even if the proofs are clear.
There was a girl like this in my highschool but we ended up learning that she was not as good as she claimed to be. Maybe I sound jealous of losing that guy, but I'm just tired of liars, and I'm waiting for others to see that she's not that perfect.
