I have a 2003 PT Cruiser, Chrysler, can anyone help with a mechanical issue?? The fog lights turned on by itself today and I can't turn them off, while I'm driving they will flick on and off randomly but the switch doesn't do anything. There is also a green headlight with a line through it lite on the dash.
Will removing the fuse keep the batter from draining until ai can get it fixed?
Not sure if this helps at all but I just recently had a new battery put in because the old one was extremely corroded and died.

Rebuilding old freehub, confused about what lubricant to use
I'm rebuilding a 20+ year old Mavic freehub, model #M40319 (Shimano splined) from a 2003 Cosmos rear wheel, to hopefully get rid of some play. It's their old freehub design, not the FTS-L with the poly bushing. It's all-metal, except for the inboard rubber seal.
It uses 2 sets of 25 1/8" steel ball bearings for the freehub mechanism, not sealed ones (the hub itself uses 2 sealed bearings on either end, but they're external to the freehub internals and I'll be replacing both with new ones), and 2 pawls held in place with a circular spring.
I was unable to find a Mavic service doc for this specific freehub, but the ones for their other freehubs all say to use Mavic mineral oil, which I don't have. Some research has revealed that many pro mechanics use either Shimano mineral oil or Dumonde freehub oil instead with good results.
Thing is, when I opened up the freehub, which I've never done in all the years I've had it, all I saw inside with this cream or tan-colored grease, which resembled Finish Line Teflon, which I have. However outside the freehub there were signs of a kind of mid-weight gold-colored oil, especially where the freehub connects to the hub. I wonder what that was since Mavic mineral oil is clear?
This is what the grease actually looked like, which is Dumonde Freehub Grease, so maybe it was this:

So I'm wondering if I should use the Finish Line grease, or something similar, a lithium-based grease, that "honey" stuff, or one of these mineral oil-based lubricants? Or, can I even use Triflow chain lube, which has PTFE in it, or perhaps a wet chain lube, or even Dumonde Lite chain lube? I have all of them.
I also have an old tube of Bullshot, which hasn't been made in years but which I got decades ago to repack traditional cup and cone hubs, BBs & headsets on my old bike with good results. It was highly regarded in its day but I'm thinking that it might be a bit too thick for this application.
My guess is that for the kind of non-intense and relatively low mileage riding that I do, it doesn't matter than much what I use so long as I avoid heavy grease, but since I've already got it apart and probably won't ever redo this, I might as well get it right.
Btw I don't see how I can avoid using some grease, to get the tiny ball bearings to stay in the races during assembly, and I'm mostly concerned about the pawls being well-lubed but not sticking, which would be BAD. Is this what most folks do to get the ball bearings to stay in place?
Also, the replacement sealed bearings I got were Enduro LLBs, which are low friction, although the OEMs were SKF 2RSHs, which are higher friction. Are those ok for a road bike rear hub, or likely to let in excessive dirt and moisture? I almost always ride on dry roads in good condition and avoid puddles, mud and rain so I figured that I could get away with the lower friction ones.
And, since this post is long enough as it is, might as well make it even longer, for completeness. Here are all the oils and greases I have on hand, in case they'll do:

I am a fellow car lover, from Iraq, who has been thinking of getting into sim racing. I have got a budget of around 1.5k-2k USD. Over the course of some research I’ve decided on going into the moza ecosystem with the R12, GSV2P, and SR-P. Now here is where living in Iraq comes into play; Iraq has no shipping/postal codes. So I have been left with getting it from 3rd party delivery “companies” (They send back stuff to Iraq from Germany, the United states, etc…). So far due to me wanting an aluminum profile rig. My shipping costs have been the following: ~2,700$ if I want to ship ONLY an NLR GT ELITE LITE wheel plate edition. ~2,900$ for the whole setup from the UAE OR Saudia Arabia. These crazy prices due to the incredibly corrupt government (since the fall of the saddam and kurdistan gaining “independence” / 2003 AD) here make sim racing as a hobby impossible. So I have been left with the option of going with the gt lite pro (foldable) for my setup. Should I go with a R9 and KS wheel to pair with that or R12 and GSV2P. (not going R9 and GSV2P as price difference from R12 is only 100€ which is not worth it might aswell go the extra hundred if i do that).
Sorry for the rant; it’s just been heartbreaking to find solutions for something i have been dreaming of for months just for it to constantly be broken down by a corrupt government.

2024.04.16 05:37 Available-Read-4482 Problem setting up XP

I've got this old computer from around 2003-2005, and I just stuck a hard drive in there and wanted to install XP. I've only tried installing from a few USBs, not DVD because I don't have one. The hard drive is a random unbranded 80gb SATA drive, one that I can't find any info for online. However, every time, I get the 0x000007b blue screen, after it loads all the drivers and says "Setup is starting Windows" for a bit. I've already fiddled around in the BIOS trying to configure it. I've set the On-Chip ATA Operate Mode to legacy mode, and that's all I could find in the BIOS for some sort of IDE compatibility. (the BIOS is amibios 3.31a) I've tried finding an F6 driver, but nothing came up on the internet. I've tried many ISOs with AHCI drivers and made my own with nLite, still nothing. I know the drive's not broken as I've tried installing Win98 and it worked.
My specs are as follows:
Mobo: MSI 865PE Neo2-V
1.5G Ram
CPU: P4 2.8G
GPU: ATI Radeon 9800 Pro
Generic DVD Drive + 3 1/2 floppy
and that 80Gb HDD i was talking about. Model No is WL80GSA872.
Please let me know if I can keep using this setup or if I need to go out and find an IDE drive. Any assistance is greatly appreciated.
