2024.05.15 08:57 Possible_Bug7513 Does Dolby-Atmos need anything else in TV other than eARC?
I have basic LG Tv with below audio specs:
Audio Codec AAC, AC3 (Dolby Digital), AC4, apt-X (refer to manual), EAC3, HE-AAC, MP2, MP3, PCM, WMA
Bluetooth Surround Ready Yes
DTS:X (by-pass only) Yes
LG Sound Sync Yes
————-
I got Denon s760h from costco and some speakers from used sales and trying to set up a 5.1.4.
I was wondering if my TV is good enough to stream Atmos sound from netflix/prime other apps to Denon through eARC.
I need help before spend money to get 4 ceiling speakers installed.
or what would be other ways to get this working.
Sorry, I am newbie here on Audio.

2024.05.15 08:42 wiedziu No video output
I can't get the Claw to output any video signal to external screen.
I'm on latest Intel Driver from intel website (via Intel Automatic Tool), which is 31.0.101.5448 and I'm on latest MSI Centre M. There are no Windows Updates left, and everything in MSI M is also up to date. Bios is latest .106 from MSI website.
I can't get signal video to external screens. When connected to Dell Dock 6000 and Dell Monitor via DisplayPort screen in Claw goes black about 5 times and then nothing happens. The dock works, because it works fine with my Galaxy Book Pro 360, Lenovo ThinkPad 2013 and ROG Ally. The monitor stays black and windows display settings don't show any external screens, however all peripherials connected to the dock are showing on the Claw I'm just missing video signal. I also have Cable Matters 4K@120hz dock connected to LG C1 via HDMI 2.1. Again, both Galaxy Book Pro 360 and ROG Ally work flawlessly, and MSI this time does recognise that it's connected to LG C1. It actually shows in windows display as LG C1 yet no signal goes through when I'm trying to extend, duplicate or show only on LG TV. I've tried another HDMI 2.1 (from my PS5) and it's the same problem. Tried switching HDMI ports, no joy, and again ROG Ally and GBP360 works flawlessly. I've tried 1920x1080, 1600x900, no joy.
D6000 is connected to 100W charger, Cable Matters dock to 120W Anker 737 charger.
Can someone please help?

2024.05.15 07:31 quitewrongly Shoresy is a musical (or Sudbury in the Rink with Sondheim)
The discussion about Shoresy scripts reminded me of something I've been feeling about the show after my most recent viewing. I promise not to get too pretentious or ascribe Deeper Meaning to the show but something about the writing reminds me of something else I really enjoy:
Musicals.
I find the dialogue in the show to be really natural while also being clearly heavily scripted. This isn't a complaint! The characters sound like they're people, just talking, albeit with a very good editor tightening things up. I get a very strong David Mamet vibe watching the show. If you don't know the name he wrote Glengarry Glen Ross, The Spanish Prisoner, American Buffalo and a lot of other plays and films and his scripts are known to be very tight and specific. As in every pause, every "ummm" or "er" is on the page as it is meant to be performed without any wiggle room. They're very stylized and often very frenetic.
But something about the writing in Shoresy bugged me juuuuust a little bit. It may have been present in Letterkenny too, but Shoresy is so easy to binge in comparison so it stood out a bit. It was how certain phrases were used by many different characters in different settings. Like how two or three characters thought the gay night at the Coulson should've been called something different "but, alas...". The exact phrase, each time, by characters who may or may not have known each other at all. That's... odd.
And then I listened to the revival of "Merrily We Roll Along", the Sondheim musical (because that's how I roll) and it made a kind of sense.
Sondheim musicals are intricate puzzle boxes. Lots of musicals (and music) have various musical themes at play to represent characters, but Sondheim took it to a different level. A lyric will repeat, but shift over time. The musical theme from the first act will return in a different tone. The "same" notes but with a radically different feel.
And all those repeated phrases in Shoresy? Just themes.
"It used to be whale shit hockey..." Starts as Michaels being weird, but it becomes a rallying cry in front of the league board. "It's not success unless you have someone to share it with." Goalies are so weird. But it means something else when Shoresy is talking with his sibs and with Laura Mohr. "The Soo are so fuckin' good!" Everybody knows The Soo are so fucking good, it's rote. It's ritualized. And it's what Shoresy has to push back against, and does. "Drugs kill dreams." Ziig believes this. This comes up unchanged because she may not care about the sluts, she may not really give that much of a damn about hockey or the NOSHO, she believes this. "Ted Hitchcock." "Ah... she knows m'name." After two seasons of banter filled teasing... well...
Yeah so... Shoresy is a musical. I'm not saying Jared is consciously thinking of it as such, but it really has that feeling.
And, don't worry, I'm not pulling for the all singing, all dancing revue episode. We don't have 525,600 minutes to waste on that.

Check Price of Logitech MX Keys Mini on Amazon VIVO Height Adjustable Standing Desk I bought into the standing desk craze a few years back, but I personally don’t utilize the standing option very often. Standing desks are a great option if you do not allocate much time towards physical exercise. I personally exercise quite often and find that if I use the standing desk too often, I get tired and can’t focus as much. Results will vary. The VIVO standing desk is a great and budget friendly option if you are looking for a standing desk, but don’t want to break the bank. The advantage of the VIVO standing desk is that it allows for a hand rotating mechanism to adjust the height of the desk, instead of relying on linear actuators. What I really enjoy about standing desks is the ability to set the desk at the perfect height relative to where my arm positioning will be. This also allows me to work long hours without getting much pain. If you’re dealing with any type of pain at all regarding working, it’s very likely your office set up. Pros: - Inexpensive and budget friendly way to get a standing desk
- Hand rotating mechanism – eliminates the need for power supply and less cords
- Allows for a desk with proper arm positioning for ergonomics

- Multiple degrees of freedom to allow for varying positions
- Lumbar support

- High quality mesh design to keep chair cool

Check Price of Herman Miller Aaron Chair on Amazon Samsonite Classic Leather Backpack Sure Samsonite isn’t Gucci, but they do provide decent quality leather backpacks at an affordable cost. I was able to get this at a lower cost during the beginning of the 2020 Coronavirus Pandemic as the demand for traveling plummeted. This backpack has held up in decent shape through regular usage such as bringing materials from home to work or to the coffee shop. Work great for short business trips as there is plenty of room to pack clothes, laptop, toiletries, and other miscellaneous items. The Samson Leather Backpack is a quality item and will last for a long period of time. No issues so far with my backpack. Pros: - High quality leather backpack suited for business
- Fits decent amount of items – clothes, toiletries, laptops, notebooks, stationary
- Durable and will last
- Good combination of minimalist and functional
Cons: - The classic leather backpack is somewhat large
- Not a very “slim” design
- Will feel large if you plan on using this backpack out walking all day
Check Price of Samsonite Classic Leather Backpack on Amazon Canon PIXMA TR4720 Printer What good is having the best home office setup without a printer? Even though the world is becoming more digital, you will still need to rely on printing documents out and sending them from time to time. The Canon PIXMA TR4720 is a basic printer that meets the need for printing out some items for work or business. Pros: - Cheap and budget friendly printer
- Allows for document scanning
Cons: - Can have issues and difficulty setting up and pairing wirelessly with laptop or internet
- Needing to download software on your laptop or iPhone
- Only compatible with 2G broadband frequency internet
- Will sometimes not show up when using it to computer
Overall, a low quality printer – invest in a higher quality printer if able to and you can afford it. This thing has given me headaches from time to time, and has not been able to print things when I really needed something to be printed and ended up having to go to the local printing shop to print and send something out. Check Price of Canon PIXMA TR4720 on Amazon Philipps 3 Outlet Surge Protector Extension Cube Let’s not forget, with a beauty best home office setup, you will have a ton of cords that you will need to be plugging into. A Phillips Extension cube is a really great option for that. I chose to get the cubed option to avoid the extra cords and what not that an extension cord provides. Keeps things relatively clean and allows the plug in of multiple devices such as your laptop, monitor, chargers, printers, and everything else I covered regarding the best home office setup. Pros: - Simple yet elegant way to add extension cord without extra wires hanging around
- The cube design is an efficient use of space
- Visually appealing to look at a cube vs. extension cord
- Very inexpensive
Cons: - Limited number of cords available
- Will not be enough for power users
- Can be difficult to fit in with other “larger” types of plugs in the same outlet
Check Price of Philipps 3 Outlet Surge Protector on Amazon Closing Thoughts on the Best Home Office Setup I work long hours and it’s imperative to have high quality office products that make the best home office setup so that I can perform and deliver optimally. I know some of the items can be expensive, but it definitely is an investment towards long term business output. There are multiple options available for the devices I show, but this is the set up that I currently use to date. If you can’t afford higher quality products yet, don’t worry, just keep grinding and build skillsets such that you can increase your salary and afford higher quality goods. I’ve come a long way when it comes to being able to afford higher quality goods and I attribute it to the skillsets that I have built over the years. submitted by ultmeche to ultmeche [link] [comments] |
2024.05.15 06:41 Huge-Variation7313 Tap in to the flow
There’s a flow of conversation where the right thing to say just occurs to you because you are properly engaged in what’s going on
I don’t see any awareness of that on this sub
I see a lot of after-the-fact attempts at getting a “sick slam” on somebody, like anybody would ever be on the receiving end of that and go “ooooh you really got me with that one”
In fact, thats probably what they would actually say if you ever managed to get any of these “comebacks” out in the moment, but they’d be saying it sarcastically to mock you for thinking what you just said had any weight to it whatsoever
If you’re being disrespected, that sucks. I get it, I feel you, I’ve been there. The impulse to want to “slam them” makes sense
But it’s misplaced aggression and will come across infantile. You are actually harming your social abilities by seriously engaging with this style of thought
Work on actively engaging in conversations. Work on being aware of when you don’t like things, and how to say no, and set boundaries, so you aren’t disrespected in the first place. Learn playful banter, so it doesn’t boil down to some weird bully/victim mentality where you actually uno reverse it and triumph over your oppressor
Shits weird. Socialize, learn to play fight, don’t get pinned and then get mad and weird
Nobody ever told me this. I went a long time in the dark. Tap in to the flow, you’re stronger and smarter and faster than you think

2024.05.15 06:26 Unusual-Ad2912 TOTALLY NEW TO SONOS WORLD : help a totally beginner
I'm Italian and, in Italy, the Sonos brand practically doesn't exist and is unknown.
I bought a Sonos Arc after reading on Reddit (another social media platform used by less than 1% of Italians) and I'm relying on you.
I'll only use it for TV, I don't have any music subscription services and don't plan to get any.
I heard it has Alexa: does that mean a full Alexa and I can remove the one I have at home, or does it just respond to Alexa?
I have an iPad M2, an iPhone 15 Pro, and an Android, and I read somewhere that there's a function that only works with Apple (something to set the sound in the room).
My interest is solely to use it for movies, TV shows, etc... Dolby Atmos and 5.1... with an LG C3 65-inch, will it have a good sound improvement?
I accept any advice that could help me get started... as I mentioned, I absolutely know nothing about SONOS and wouldn't know who to ask in my country.
Thank you."

2024.05.15 05:07 SurturSaga Zantetsu getting eliminated might be a good thing
There has been a lot of speculation about Zantetsu being the one to be barely eliminated from the NEL. But there’s an outcome that would make this actually really good for him. As we know the highest 23 salaried players are invited to play on the u20 team for Japan. But unlike other stages of blue lock, this does not prevent you from having any outside career in soccer. They’ll still get to play for clubs and I believe that arc is where this Zantetsu will make his true debut. It feels like a plot line that could potentially be interesting and it adds beef and a greater meaning behind not making the cut.
His hindered performance is importsnt to consider. Zantetsus performance this match hasn’t been horrible but it definitely doesn’t live up to his potential. That’s because zantetsu needs a partner and a gamemaker kind of like how Kaiser is to Ness. He’s not too intelligent himself but when able to follow someone else’s plan he does quite exceptional. See how he learned to play with team V in the Wanama match or how he followed instructions perfectly in the second selection 3v3. But his stats are all quite good actually. This quite matches up with the page from the latest chapter where it seems to be setting him up for his game to be acknowledged by someone? So far nothing had happened like that in NEL and if he makes the team he’d probably be a benchwarmer for the most part with little opportunities to prove himself. It could just be the club offering him a salary but I think it’s more then that
This new player might be NG11 and would serve as the other main obstacle for the match in question.
Zantetsu is also incredibly ambitious. He wants to be the worlds best player and the worlds most esteemed idiot. And at this point in blue lock very few players are actually striving to be the best, or atleast they don’t show it.
Emotional Value: Zantetsu has strong connections with quite a few characters. Particularly Niko, Team V, and sort of maybe Chigiri. He also likes blue lock and in the spinoff he addressed this serveral times
But why zantetsu and not the others facing risk of elimination? There’s a few reasons. Btw the other three I’m considering is Nanase, Toki, and Kiyora. First of all I just can’t see Nanase as a legitimate threat and major part of the story. The other two are interesting though, Confident Toki arc would be interesting but I just don’t think it’d work as well. And Kiyora initially makes some sense. He holds grudges, and Isagi made it so he can’t play in the Ubers match. But he’s doing so bad this game and I can’t reasonably see him becoming that big of a threat in comparison to a now even better Isagi and whoever else is on his club. He’s also not very talkative at all so the beef and banter that we need wouldn’t be there.
Ofcourse if the cover theory has any validity then Zantetsu is most likely to be this person just because he didn’t make it.

Active Posting on Social Media
- Platforms: Utilize popular social media platforms like Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook to share updates, clips, and behind-the-scenes content. Your choice of platforms should align with the demographics and preferences of your target audience.
- Consistency: Post regularly and maintain a consistent presence across your chosen platforms. This helps you stay visible and top-of-mind for your audience. Don't be afraid to share memes, thoughts, and engage with trending topics relevant to your niche.
- Interactive Posts: Create interactive posts such as polls, quizzes, or open-ended questions to encourage your followers to engage with your content. This can foster a sense of community and provide valuable insights into your audience's preferences.
Interacting with Others on Platforms
- Community Engagement: Actively engage with your audience on social media by responding to comments, sharing their posts, and participating in conversations. This level of interaction helps strengthen the bond between you and your viewers, fostering a sense of community and loyalty.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with other streamers or content creators in your niche for joint streams, podcasts, events, or even just hanging out in a voice chat together. These collaborations can introduce you to new audiences and provide fresh content for your existing viewers. Remember, other streamers are your co-workers, not your competition; working together can benefit everyone involved.
Effective audience engagement on social media requires a consistent effort and a genuine desire to connect with your viewers. By actively promoting your content, interacting with your community, and collaborating with others, you can build a strong and engaged audience that will support your growth as a streamer.
4. Community Building
Building a strong and engaged community is essential for long-term success as a streamer. A loyal and supportive community not only provides a consistent viewership but also creates a sense of belonging and shared experience for everyone involved.
Support Systems
- Genuine Support: Encourage genuine support within your community by promoting an environment where viewers engage with your content because they genuinely enjoy it, not because of follow-for-follow schemes or incentives.
- Education: Educate your community on the importance of mutual support and how fostering a positive and inclusive environment benefits everyone. Encourage viewers to share each other's content, engage in discussions, and provide constructive feedback.
Discord and Community Events
- Discord Server: Create a dedicated Discord server for your community. This platform allows for real-time communication, organization of channels for different topics, and sharing of exclusive content or behind-the-scenes information.
- Events: Host regular community events such as game nights, watch parties, or Q&A sessions. These events provide opportunities for your viewers to interact with you and each other, fostering a stronger sense of community and belonging.
Moderation and Guidelines
- Community Guidelines: Establish clear community guidelines that outline acceptable behavior, language, and interactions within your community spaces. These guidelines should promote respect, inclusivity, and a positive environment for all members.
- Moderation Team: As your community grows, consider building a team of trusted moderators to help enforce community guidelines, manage discussions, and handle any potential issues that may arise.
5. Personal Development
To achieve long-term success and growth as a streamer, it's essential to focus on personal development and maintaining a healthy mindset. This encompasses not only your on-stream persona but also your overall well-being and resilience.
Mindset and Energy
- Positive Attitude: Maintain a positive and energetic attitude during your streams. Remember, viewers tune in to be entertained and escape their daily stresses. Your positive energy can be contagious and contribute to an enjoyable experience for your audience.
- Avoid Negativity: Refrain from negative talk, self-pity, or complaining about lack of donations or viewer counts. Instead, focus on providing an exceptional experience for those who are present, and celebrate your achievements, no matter how small.
No Envy
- Focus on Growth: Avoid comparing yourself to other streamers or dwelling on their successes. Every streamer's journey is unique, and the key is to focus on your own growth and improvement.
- Celebrate Others: Celebrate the accomplishments and milestones of your fellow streamers. A supportive and collaborative mindset can create a positive community and keep you motivated on your own path.
Continuous Learning
- Stay Up-to-Date: The streaming landscape is constantly evolving, with new platforms, technologies, and trends emerging regularly. Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in your niche by following industry news, attending events, or participating in online communities.
- Skill Development: Continuously work on developing skills that can enhance your streams, such as video editing, graphic design, or even public speaking. Investing in your skills can lead to better content and a more polished overall presentation.
Work-Life Balance
- Time Management: Effective time management is crucial for balancing your streaming commitments with other aspects of your life. Set realistic schedules and priorities to avoid burnout.
- Self-Care: Make time for self-care activities that promote your physical and mental well-being, such as exercise, hobbies, or spending time with loved ones. A healthy work-life balance can help you maintain a positive mindset and avoid burnout.
Personal development is an ongoing journey that requires self-awareness, discipline, and a growth mindset. By cultivating a positive attitude, avoiding envy, continuously learning, and maintaining a healthy work-life balance, you can position yourself for sustainable growth and success as a streamer.
6. Practical Tips
In addition to the broader strategies and mindsets outlined earlier, there are several practical tips and best practices that can contribute to your growth and success as a streamer.
Streaming Setup
- Quality Equipment: Invest in quality audio and video equipment to ensure a professional-looking and sounding stream. This includes a good microphone, webcam, lighting, and a reliable internet connection.
- Optimized Settings: Take the time to optimize your streaming software and hardware settings for the best performance and quality. This may involve adjusting bitrates, resolutions, and other settings based on your internet speed and hardware capabilities.
Stream Presentation
- Professional Overlays: Create visually appealing and consistent overlays, alerts, and graphics that align with your branding and enhance the overall viewing experience.
- Engaging Webcam Presence: Position your webcam in a way that allows for natural and engaging interactions with your audience, while also ensuring good lighting and framing.
Content Repurposing and Discoverability
- Video Clips and Highlights: Regularly create and share video clips, highlights, or compilations from your streams on social media and video platforms. This can help attract new viewers and increase discoverability.
- Searchable Titles and Descriptions: Use relevant and descriptive titles, tags, and descriptions for your streams and video content to improve discoverability through search engines and platform algorithms.
Analytics and Feedback
- Data Analysis: Regularly analyze your stream analytics, such as viewer counts, engagement metrics, and demographic data, to understand your audience better and identify areas for improvement.
- Audience Feedback: Actively seek feedback from your viewers through polls, surveys, or direct communication. This valuable input can help you tailor your content and adjust your approach to better meet their needs and preferences.
Networking and Collaboration
- Industry Connections: Attend or participate in online events, conferences, or communities related to streaming and content creation. This can help you establish connections, learn from others, and potentially find collaboration opportunities.
- Cross-Promotion: Collaborate with other streamers or content creators in your niche for cross-promotion, joint streams, or guest appearances. This can expose you to new audiences and provide fresh content for your existing viewers.
By implementing these practical tips and best practices, you can enhance the overall quality and presentation of your streams, increase discoverability, gather valuable insights, and foster connections within the streaming community – all of which can contribute to your growth and success as a content creator.
7. Long-Term Goals
As you progress on your journey as a streamer, it's important to set long-term goals that align with your vision and aspirations. These goals can serve as guideposts, providing direction and motivation for your growth and development.
Expanding Your Content Offerings
- Diversify Your Content: Consider gradually expanding your content range beyond your primary focus to explore new genres, formats, or topics that resonate with your audience. This could include vlogs, podcasts, or delving into additional gaming genres or categories.
- Multimedia Content Creation: Explore opportunities to create multimedia content, such as video essays, documentaries, or even written materials like guides or e-books related to your niche. This diversification can attract new audiences and reinforce your expertise.
Building a Team and Infrastructure
- Assemble a Support Team: As your audience and workload grow, consider building a support team to assist with various aspects of content creation, community management, and administrative tasks. This could include hiring editors, moderators, or virtual assistants.
- Establish a Dedicated Workspace: Create a dedicated workspace or studio optimized for streaming and content creation. This could involve soundproofing, professional lighting setups, and investing in high-quality equipment and software.
Additional Insights
- Remember, streaming for excessively long hours (e.g., 10+ hours) can be counterproductive. It doesn't give your audience enough time to miss you and anticipate your next stream.
- Set SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound) goals for your growth as a streamer. This could include targets for viewer counts, subscriber numbers, or content creation milestones.
- Stay Ahead of the Curve: The streaming and content creation landscape is constantly evolving, with new technologies and platforms emerging regularly. Stay informed about emerging trends, such as virtual reality, augmented reality, or cloud gaming, and be open to exploring and adapting to these new technologies.
- Experiment with New Features: Many streaming platforms introduce new features or tools regularly. Don't be afraid to experiment with these new features and find creative ways to incorporate them into your content, potentially offering a fresh experience for your viewers.
- Analyze Audience Data: Regularly analyze data and metrics related to your audience, such as demographics, viewing habits, and engagement patterns. Use this information to tailor your content and strategies to better align with their preferences and interests.
- Engage in Audience Outreach: Actively seek feedback and suggestions from your audience through surveys, polls, or direct communication channels. This input can provide valuable insights into what resonates with them and what areas you can improve or expand upon.
- Develop a Growth Mindset: Cultivate a growth mindset that embraces continuous learning and self-improvement. Be open to constructive feedback, and view challenges or setbacks as opportunities for growth and development.
- Set Achievable Milestones: Break down your long-term goals into achievable milestones or smaller steps. Celebrating these milestones along the way can provide a sense of accomplishment and motivation to keep pushing forward.
Perseverance and Resilience
- Manage Expectations: Understand that building a successful streaming career takes time, dedication, and perseverance. Set realistic expectations and be prepared for setbacks or periods of slow growth.
- Maintain a Positive Attitude: Cultivate a positive and resilient attitude, even in the face of challenges or disappointments. Your mindset and enthusiasm can be contagious and contribute to the overall experience for your viewers.
By embracing emerging technologies, fostering industry connections, adapting to audience preferences, embracing self-improvement, and developing perseverance and resilience, you can position yourself for long-term growth and success in the ever-evolving world of streaming and content creation.

2024.05.15 04:46 Desperate-Impress237 Batman Villains and their MHA Pro Heroes rivals
I been thinking about writing a MHA x Batman fanfic, specifically only involving the Batman Rogues Gallery. Some back stories would change. Then I started think of possible rivalries, here they are, I would love to here suggestions and changes.
Scarecrow and Midnight: This rivalry was chosen due to their similar power set and polar opposite personalities. In the story I am debating on making Jonathan Crane a distant cousin of Midnight, but I think their banter would be fun.
Mr. Freeze and Endeavor: I think having Endeavor face a calmer sympathetic villain would be more interesting. I see this Mr. Freeze's power set being similar to his interpretation in The Batman(2004), though keeping his backstory from BTAS. This would lead to a lot of drama with the Todoroki family and Freeze himself.
Joker and Eraserhead: It was between this or Ms. Joke, and I chose this since Aizawa was the closest to Batman in personality, making him the best target for Joker.
Bane and All Might: This is a weird one, but I see this sorta being a Knightfall style event. Bane attempts to wear down All Might so he can prove that he is better than the world's number 1 hero. Though never am official rivalry, I think it would be fun.
I would love to hear your ideas.

2024.05.15 04:33 CurteD93 LG OLED Costco?
Hey everyone! I've been in this group for a while checking out some of your great setups! I was wondering, I am looking to buy my first place soon and have some money set aside for furniture and stuff. I was thinking of getting an LG OLED TV from Costco and just wondering for opinions on this? The reason is because it comes with 2 year warranty without any additional costs and I find that Costco is usually pretty reliable with stuff if it needs to be returned! Thanks in advance!

2024.05.15 03:42 SquidWhisperer New LG Monitors have input delay while playing a game.
Hi, I recently purchased two 24MP60G monitors from LG to replace my old monitors, specifically because I wanted my secondary monitors to connect via DisplayPort rather than HDMI, for reasons that aren't important. However, while playing Helldivers 2, I noticed that while the game was open, both of my new monitors had noticeable input delay and slowness. This was not a problem with either of my old monitors, which were both of the same spec, that being 1080p 60hz.
I've checked the monitor settings, but they both seem to be normal in regards to input delay. My main monitor, which is an LG 27GL83A, does not have any problems and my game runs just fine. I also purchased two new DisplayPort cables for the new monitors, but I've different cables, and the problem persists.

2024.05.15 03:10 Silent_Airport_6534 Laptop using external monitor with wrong resolution and Windows using the wrong GPU. Although familiar with these issues it turns out it’s harder to fix than expected.
Hello tech supporters,
TLDR : I'm a fairly capable tech guy myself and am currently having some hard time troubleshoting my girlfriend's laptop. Although those seem like small/easy issues, we've spent many hours trying different solutions, but none had any effect, some behaviors seem even contradictory, and I'm now running out of ideas.
Detailed issues : - External monitor is displayed with a 640x480 resolution when plugged in. It started a few days ago, before that my girlfriend was using the monitor daily without any issue. We share the desk and the monitor and often plug and switch our laptops to it if that makes sense. - The classic, Windows using the CPU integrated graphics as the preferred GPU instead of the dedicated RTX 3050. I actually don't know if this was already the case before the monitor issue started, but it's obviously abnormal and very probably related. For information, my girlfriend was playing a mildly graphic demanding game a few months ago with no issues, so it seems a change appeared otherwise I imagine she couldn't have been able to run the game with CPU graphics.
Solutions we've tried to fix those issues, most and least obvious ones (none changed something whatsoever) : - Updating/reinstalling AMD CPU graphics and dedicated Nvidia GPU's drivers - Specifying the use of Nvidia's GPU as the preferred option in the Nvidia Control Panel - Obviously trying different HDMI cables (which is the only port available on the laptop to plug in an external monitor) - Re-installing Windows 11 with a hard reset of files - Updating battery usage settings to best performances and trying different outlets. The computer was always used while charging. - Updating BIOS and checking graphic options in BIOS (currently "Graphics Device : Switchable Graphics"). - Resetting monitor settings and installing its drivers (didn't know drivers for monitors were a thing before). - De-activiting/activating the external monitor and both GPUs in the device manager.
Especially odd observations : - We've plugged the laptop to a TV and the resolution on it is fine. The CPU graphic was still the one used though. - We've tried plugging different laptops to the monitor and the resolution appeared fine which leads me to think it's not related to the monitor itself and more specifically a software issue on my girlfriend's laptop ? - I've even installed an Ubuntu distrib on a bootable USB key. The monitor's resolution was still wrong but it could be due to the lack of drivers for the Nvidia GPU which I couldn't install since the OS was running as "Try Ubuntu" so actions seemed limited, I admit I didn't dig into it a lot though.
Laptop model : Lenovo Ideapad Gaming 3-15ACH6 - type 82K2 Monitor model : LG Flatron E2251VR-BN
Here are some screenshots to illustrate the currently situation Please be sure that we've tried those solutions, sometimes multiple times, in different orders with different expectations. Since nothing seemed to make a difference, we've tried looking for the most insignificant details/settings that could produce a change, sometimes knowing it would probably make no difference. The goal was mostly to try to narrow down the causes by an trial and error approach and emit hypotheses.
As for now I'm considering switching to Windows 10 since I witnessed many people around me having issues with 11 and suspect it to be somehow responsible. But overall I would prefer being wrong and just realize I forgot to validate a checkbox option somewhere, I'm kinda hopeless at the moment...
Any other ideas would be greatly appreciated in any case. Thank you for your help.

2024.05.15 02:59 TheNewJay Please help me figure out how to actually play 4K video files without much tinkering around!
Okay, so, I fear that this is a stupid question, but, why does it seem so difficult to just, you know, play 4K video files?
A bit about my set up. I have a nice TV (LG CX OLED), and I also use this TV as a computer monitor, hooked up to a not-as-nice Windows PC. IF it matters, I have a GeForce GTX 1060 6GB. To play media files, I generally use VLC, and feel it is great. I also have a PS5 if that helps.
The problem I often encounter, though, is that VLC, as amazing as it is for most applications, does not take kindly to playing 4K media. I have went tough a bunch of those troubleshooting guides online, where you fiddle with arcane settings under VLC's hood. Nothing works--4K video will play for maybe a few seconds and then it will freeze on a certain frame while the sound continues to play. And that's the best case scenario--sometimes it'll just crash. Another issue is that turning on hardware acceleration on VLC also makes it function much worse for other media--I get a strange glitch even on 1080p files where often when pausing a video and then resuming it, the video will freeze on a particular frame as the sound continues. It is very annoying and it means closing the program and then re-opening the video file pretty much every second time I need to pause a video.
I want to be able to utilize my beautiful TV to the fullest extent that it is capable of, but I keep getting stuck with trying new settings for VLC and getting frustrated, or trying new programs that also don't play the files properly. Ideally, I could configure VLC such that it will play media of all resolutions without annoying glitches, but, at this point I would settle for either a different program or a different kind of solution altogether.
Using the tools at my disposal, how can I get 4K media files to play? It doesn't have to be off of my computer, I could get used to playing things off of my PS5 or even my TV, if that would work (I've never used the USB drive and I don't know what it's capable of in that respect). If there's some obvious solution I'm overlooking, feel free to point it out.

2024.05.15 00:26 NickPapagiorgio2k16 LG TV Disconnecting
So I just moved into a new house and set up my Eero Pro 6E and have been loving it. Great speeds and and coverage. Last week my new LG OLED G4 just got delivered and set up. Connected to the WiFi and everything seems to be working fine however I have to reconnect to the WiFi pretty much any time the TV has been off for an extended time. While I am watching etc it works fine. I don’t think it is an issue with it being 2.4 GHz only or not being compatible as according to the information for the TV the WiFi adapter in the TV should be compatible. Additionally when it does connect (usually toggling the WiFi on and off on the tv will reconnect it) it connects to the 6 GHz band. It’s three feet from the gateway so that isn’t the issue.
I probably should just hard wire it but now that the TV is hung it is going to be a pain in the ass to get the wire run.
Anyone have similar issues?

2024.05.15 00:20 intrafinesse How do you enter a voice command without the "Hey Google" activation prompt?
With my old LG G7 I could press a button and say "Set alarm for 5PM". This was without the "Hey Google" activation (which I don't want). You pressed a button.
How do I get my phone to set the alarm (other than manually)? If I open the Google app and press the microphone it gives me a web page answer on how to set an alarm rather than setting the alarm.

2024.05.15 00:10 Les_Habitants912 Stremio vs Kodi: Real Debrid Performance
Hi everyone,
I know this question has been asked before, but I am hoping to get some feedback for my specific situation. I have read online that both of these apps work great with real debrid. I have used both and am leaning a bit towards Stremio due to simplicity and cloud storage for my library. I know I can use back up add-on to save my setting on Kodi when I do a clean install but if I am setting up a new device, I'd have to start from scratch (I don't know how to save back up and restore from a network). I am hoping to get some feedback on the performance of both apps and which you guys prefer. I should also mention I am using a Firstick 4k Max for streaming connected to my LG S80QR system.
I know Stremio is recommended for the fact that it works out of the box. I see that Kodi is recommended due to the ability to customize and trakt integration. I am hoping to get some feedback on the points below as these are a priority for myself when deciding which app to use.
- Reliability - cocoscrapers seems to provide a great amount of links in 4K and 1080p. Torrention also provides a sufficient amount of links. From your experiences, which one has been more reliable? Which one will be more reliable in the future? Kodi has been around for years and addon support is great whereas Stremio and Torrentionare relatively new; can we expect ongoing support for these?
- Performance - how has your experience been with video and audio playback on Stremio vs Kodi? Has anyone had any AV sync issues? What about use with surround sound system? Any issues with quality of 4k stream? I have a 5.1.3 system and would hope I can put my system to good use.
2.1. Audio passthrough - I noticed Stemio does not have this setting for Android TV. Is it not needed or already embedded into the app? Looks like tunneled playback is something different, not sure if it accomplishes the same thing.
- Customizations - clearly Kodi takes the cake here but what specific customizations are essential to you on Kodi? I like the options available for video and audio but are these necessary on Stremio or are adjustments automatically made on Stremio depending on the devices you are using? E.g. downmixing from 7.1 to 5.1.
- Parental controls - Kodi has some options for parental controls, Stremio has nothing. Will there ever be any options for this in the future?
One of the things that annoys me the most about Stremio is that when I am watching a show and go to check something else, when I go back to the show I was watching, it automatically starts playing from where I left off. Is there anyway to disable this?
All feedback is greatly appreciated.

2024.05.14 23:58 Chemical-Tree-1234 AirPlay and other services on my LG C3 TV not working
A lot of services on my TV aren’t working. Even the LG ThinQ app doesn’t seem to be able to connect to my TV. Neither will the TV show up on any of my devices AirPlay. I tried to do this on another network so I set up a hotspot on my phone and connected my TV to the hotspot and everything seemed to work fine. I have a Netgear 4 Stream Ax1800 WiFi 6 Router RAX20-100NAS which is what I think is causing the issue. Should there be something I disabling or enabling on the Netgear admin panel???
