2024.05.15 10:31 maillotsblog Een Nieuwe Generatie: Het Vooruitzicht van Nederlands Voetbal

I. Inleiding

When it comes to choosing a signature scent, fragrance aficionados know that longevity and intensity are key. Two standout options that consistently rise to the occasion are Armaf Hunter Intense and Club de Nuit Intense Man. Both fragrances offer an exquisite blend of notes designed to captivate and endure throughout the day. In this guide, we'll explore the unique characteristics of these scents, how to choose the right one for you, and tips on making your fragrance last longer.
Understanding Fragrance Notes and Composition
Before diving into the specifics of Armaf Hunter Intense and Club de Nuit Intense Man, it’s essential to understand how fragrances are composed. A perfume typically consists of three layers of notes:
Top Notes: These are the initial scents you perceive immediately upon application. They are usually light and fresh but evaporate quickly.
Middle (Heart) Notes: As the top notes fade, the middle notes develop and form the core of the fragrance. These are often floral or spicy.
Base Notes: These provide depth and longevity to the fragrance. They emerge after the middle notes and can last for hours.
Armaf Hunter Intense: A Modern Classic
Armaf Hunter Intense is renowned for its powerful and sophisticated scent. This fragrance opens with invigorating top notes of citrus and cardamom, which quickly transition into a heart of aromatic lavender and cedarwood. The base notes of vetiver and musk provide a lasting, earthy finish.
Key Characteristics:
Top Notes: Bergamot, lemon, mandarin, and cardamom.
Middle Notes: Lavender, cedarwood, and geranium.
Base Notes: Vetiver, musk, and labdanum.
Club de Nuit Intense Man: Elegance Redefined
Club de Nuit Intense Man is another exceptional fragrance, known for its bold and luxurious profile. It starts with a sharp burst of lemon, blackcurrant, and apple, leading into a heart of birch, jasmine, and rose. The base notes of musk, ambergris, and vanilla provide a rich and enduring foundation.
Key Characteristics:
Top Notes: Lemon, blackcurrant, apple, and bergamot.
Middle Notes: Birch, jasmine, and rose.
Base Notes: Musk, ambergris, patchouli, and vanilla.
Choosing the Right Fragrance for You

Tips for Making Your Fragrance Last Longer
Maximizing the longevity of your fragrance can enhance your overall experience. Here are some tips to help you make the most of your Armaf Hunter Intense or Club de Nuit Intense Man:
Apply to Pulse Points: Fragrances react to heat, so applying them to pulse points like the wrists, neck, and behind the ears can help the scent develop and last longer.
Moisturize: Applying fragrance to moisturized skin can enhance its longevity. Use an unscented lotion to avoid any conflicting scents.
Layer Your Fragrance: Using complementary scented products like body wash or aftershave can help build a more lasting scent profile.
Avoid Rubbing Your Wrists Together: This common practice can break down the fragrance notes and diminish the scent faster.
Store Properly: Keep your fragrances in a cool, dark place to preserve their integrity and longevity.
Making a Statement with Your Fragrance
Both Armaf Hunter Intense and Club de Nuit Intense Man offer the perfect blend of intensity and sophistication, making them excellent choices for anyone looking to enhance their personal scent profile. Whether you prefer the modern, woody allure of Armaf Hunter Intense or the bold, elegant richness of Club de Nuit Intense Man, you’re sure to find a fragrance that complements your style and personality.

Needs out 5/17 - Norman #A2106299 - Los Angeles, CA
Sweet Norman #A2106299 needs a home 🏡 🆘🆘Needs out of the shelter by 5/17/24🆘🆘 Neutered male, red and black Chow Chow and German shepherd dog 6 years, 54lbs Been at the shelter since 10/5/2023
🐾🐾🐾
“Took Norman to the yard for a quick run around end of day, but really, he just mostly wanted to snuggle. Not marking it as a walk, as it was very short. Gave him snuggles, and he approached both Baha and myself for pets. Such a sweet guy.”
“Good behavior from gentle Norman. Yards were full so went for a walk in parking lot. Very good on leash, does not pull. Relieved himself quickly. Enjoyed sniffing and exploring. Sat for a bit in one of the parking lot enclosures. Norman sat quietly next to me and enjoyed being petted. Easy to walk back to his kennel and exit.”
“A couple wanted to meet Norman. He was easy to leash and we all went inside a play yard. There was a dog in the adjacent yard and Norman ran back and forth alongside the center fence, barking and trying to get the attention of the other dog. When the other dog was taken from the yard, Norman went to the couple, sat next to them, and allowed them to pet him. The couple said they were interested in Norman but they wanted to think about adopting. I returned Norman to the kennel without any issues.”
“Norman went on a pack walk today. He was in his ISO kennel and excited to get out, happily spinning but easy to leash. An ACT checked his paws prior to leaving due to his last medical note. He was fine and ready to go. He walked out no problem but I had to lift him up to get him into the car. In the car he was calm and just laid in the back seat. When we got to the destination he had no issue to get out of the car by himself and pulled me around to sniff.
On the walk he was a strong puller and seemed to be a bit overwhelmed at first with all the smells and impressions after being in the ISO kennels for a while. He could definitely benefit from some leash training. He was definitely interested in the other dogs on the pack walk but showed no aggression or reactivity - Marge lunged and barked at him at one point but he didnt react. We encountered joggers and bikers on the walk to which he showed no reaction. The area we walked through had a lot of cats but none came very close so its hard to tell if hes safe with cats - if we passed any at a distance there was no reaction. When we took breaks and had all the dogs closer together he was calm and laid down. People came up to him on the walk and he interacted well with them.
After the walk we gave the dogs a bath. I had to lift Norman into the tub. He was fine with me washing him, touching his legs and paws. He didnt mind the blow dryer or me drying him with a towel.
Afterwards we went to an outdoor patio - Norman first didnt want any of the hot dogs offered to him, but once he had settled a bit he enjoyed them. When I went into a coffee shop he calmly waited with another volunteer. While at the patio, he came in for pets and laid by my feet in close vicinity to Beto without issue. Overall he was very calm around all the people and dogs.
He was again good in the car on the way back to the shelter. At the shelter I got permission to move him to an outside kennel. He was easy to return to his new kennel”

„Looped Trey and knowing he might be mouthy I kept him moving and maneuvered the leash so he wouldn`t leash climb. Once in the yard I used a spray bottle to avoid any jumping on me and tossed a couple balls to burn some energy. Needed to dog test so grabbed my solid go-to Echo. Trey started out hot and needed to be a bit slowed down a bit but Echo gave appropriate corrections when needed. Added KD which was a good balance and after more chasing they all had a good rough and rowdy play session. Once he was good and tired Trey came over briefly for some pets. I was able to use a quick release and return him without issue.“
„Trey was too jumpy to leash through kennel door. Would not go for tossed treats. Able to easily leash from back cubby. Moderate pull to yard. In yard, at first ran around, sniffed and pooped. Tends to get jumpy so kept throwing a tennis ball alternating with a kong. After a bit, he seemed to get bored and started jumping on me and humping my leg. He then got overly excited and continued jumping. When I picked up the leash to go back he jumped up and grabbed the leash. By distracting him, we were able to walk back and he went straight into his kennel“

2024.05.15 03:39 miamarsden NASCAR 2025 SILLY SEASON - Current thoughts after research

Hello everyone! I'm Mia, and I'm currently realizing how absurd this silly season is starting to look. We've heard so many rumors and so much speculation, so right now, I'm going to take any news I've heard and post who I think is most likely to be in what car. Here we go!
Note: Entries in bold are confirmed by Jayski/NASCAR.com/another source that I've forgotten to write down.
* - back unless team declines team option
CHARTERED TEAMS
Trackhouse Kaulig (1) Ross Chastain
Penske (2) Austin Cindric Reasoning: Tim Cindric is still involved with Penske, so why would Cindric leave? The only thing I could see possible is Cindric to the 21, but even that is unlikely, as Austin Cindric seems about 85% likely to come back next year.
RCR (3) Austin Dillon Reasoning: We don't know much about Austin Dillon. Supposedly, he was signed through 2025, but rumor has it that he may retire after this year to pursue the management side of RCR. If this happens, then Austin Hill would be the leading candidate to replace him, I'd assume, but otherwise, I think Austin Dillon will likely be back.
Stewart Front Row (4) Josh Berry Reasoning: Josh Berry could be in a number of rides next year. Let's start with the obvious: Stewart-Haas and Front Row have to be in talks for something. From what I've heard, SHR is either downsizing or merging with FRM. I'm going to go with the latter, as it makes sense with the timing of McDowell going to Spire. Meanwhile, if SHR downsizes, it sounds like Gragson and Preece would be the likely candidates for release, but the only driver safe is Briscoe, due to the team option (which actually means Briscoe may not be safe). That said, Berry could end up in the WBR #21 ride, or even in a ride like a third RFK car. Still, I'd bet on Berry staying in this car and FRM and SHR merging.
Hendrick (5) Kyle Larson
RFK (6) Brad Keselowski
Spire (7) Corey LaJoie
RCR (8) Kyle Busch
Hendrick (9) Chase Elliott
Stewart Front Row (10) Noah Gragson Reasoning: As much as Gragson may not be the best person on social media, Gragson has outperformed expectations by a lot this season. As such, it's interesting that Front Row and McDowell would part ways. We know that Gragson is in a study group with Berry and Briscoe (and now Preece, I suppose). That said, Gragson being part of the group is interesting, as is the fact that if Preece is dealt with, then FRM and SHR together have 4 drivers under contract. Interesting... Gragson could end up in the 34 if FRM doesn't merge with SHR, the 19 if Bass Pro Shops can recommend Gragson to JGR and if Truex, Jr. retires, and the 21 if that ride is open, and those are just a few possibities. Gragson's performance this year is making what happens here paramount to resolving Silly Season.
JGR (11) Denny Hamlin
Penske (12) Ryan Blaney
Stewart Front Row (14) Chase Briscoe\*
RWR (15) Riley Herbst Reasoning: Herbst is ready for Cup. Additionally, Herbst has sponsorship and has seemingly matured to where he could be a huge boon to a growing team. It's possible Herbst stays in Xfinity, but that wouldn't make sense. He could, though, go to a SFR car if SHR and FRM merge - I could see him replacing Berry or Gragson. RWR could continue to use multiple drivers, but they seem to be moving in the direction of being taken seriously, so I'd expect they'll name a full-time driver here. I could see Kaz Grala being the full-time driver, I could see Cody Ware being the full-time driver, and I could even see a small peephole where Hailey Deegan has a chance at some starts in this ride. It's definitely up in the air.
Trackhouse Kaulig (16) Shane van Gisbergen Reasoning: If Kaulig and Trackhouse merge, they would have, to our knowledge, 5 drivers under contract - Zilich, though, can wait. With that said, if Trackhouse/Kaulig keep van Gisbergen, Chastain, Suarez, and Zane Smith, then SVG is likely to go to this car since he's running the 16 part-time this year. Even on the off-chance that the two teams merge and chose to let a driver go, it's far more likely that Trackhouse would let Suarez go than it is that they let SVG, who won under the Trackhouse label in his first start, go.
RFK (17) Chris Buescher
JGR (19) Corey Heim Reasoning: Corey Heim is a top Toyota prospect, and Martin Truex, Jr. may be retiring. If Truex doesn't retire, I'd put Heim in the 50 - I think Heim is #1 and Chandler Smith is #2 in terms of Toyota prospects. Heim is ready based on his runs at Dover and Kansas. That said, there's a non-zero chance Gragson or some other prospect from Ford hemmoraghing their talent could end up here - last year, I was convinced that Harrison Burton could end up here (I wouldn't rule that out - Harrison Burton did races for JGR in the Xfinity series at one point).
JGR (20) Christopher Bell Reasoning: I haven't heard anything about any changes to this car, so I'm going to assume he stays.
WBR (21) Ryan Preece Reasoning: Harrison Burton is unlikely to come back, via multiple sources. The options I'd assume exist are probably something like this: Noah Gragson, Josh Berry, Ryan Preece, Todd Gilliland, Riley Herbst, Chase Briscoe, Austin Cindric, and in bizzaro-world, Justin Haley. One of those will pan out - in this Silly Season, I'm thinking Ryan Preece's blue-collar attitude would shine with the Wood Brothers. Plus, Preece is the odd man out, but has enough talent to avoid dropping out of Cup if Ford Motorcraft/Quick Lane is willing to take him on.
Penske (22) Joey Logano
23XI (23) Bubba Wallace Reasoning: I haven't heard anything about any changes to this car, so I'm going to assume he stays.
Hendrick (24) William Byron
Trackhouse Kaulig (31) Zane Smith Reasoning: Zane Smith will be in a Trackhouse car next year one way or another, per the planned contractual agreement. Really, it's whether Trackhosue gets a charter or not that's the question. If they do, Zane Smith is priority #1 for Trackhouse to get into their car. If Trackhouse and Kaulig don't merge, then I'd bet on Trackhouse putting Zane in Kaulig's car, but more likely is that Trackhouse will buy Zane Smith a charter from Kaulig or swallow Kaulig entirely.
Stewart Front Row (38) Todd Gilliland Reasoning: I haven't heard anything about any changes to this car, so I'm going to assume he stays, especially since he didn't leave after last year's "Zane Smith races". If he were to leave, he'd probably end up in the 21 for the Wood Brothers or end up at Legacy Motor Club or Joe Gibbs due to his Toyota connections (TRICON). Besides, his performance is continuing to go up, and McDowell is gone now, so it makes sense for Gilliland to stay here.
LMC (42) John Hunter Nemechek Reasoning: If Truex retires, Nemechek will either be in this car or in the #19 for JGR. Either way, nothing really to report here - Nemechek has performed well some weeks and I haven't heard anything about any changes to this car.
LMC (43) Erik Jones Reasoning: I haven't heard anything about any changes to this car, so I'm going to assume he stays.
23XI (45) Tyler Reddick Reasoning: I haven't heard anything about any changes to this car, so I'm going to assume he stays.
JTG (47) Ricky Stenhouse, Jr.
Hendrick (48) Alex Bowman
RWR (51) Kaz Grala Reasoning: I haven't heard of Kaz Grala going anywhere else - he will likely be in either the #15 or the #51 for RWR next year at least part-time. I do think there's a sleeper chance, though, that he goes to RFK because he's a talented, young Ford driver and RFK wants to expand.
JGR (54) Ty Gibbs Reasoning: I haven't heard anything about any changes to this car, so I'm going to assume he stays. Plus, he's Joe Gibbs's grandson.
RFK (60) (was 34) Justin Haley Reasoning: Justin Haley to RFK sounds wild when you consider Haley is under contract with RWR through next year. That said, RFK and RWR are in an alliance, and if Keselowski expands before he retires, then the timeline could change drastically, especially after BK's win at Darlington in the spring of 2024. Haley clearly wouldn't move to RFK without some sort of reasoning - this could definitely be a sleeper move to happen. I'd also not rule out Gragson or Kaz Grala or Ryan Preece for this ride, though, if RWR keeps Haley.
23XI (67) (was 41) Chandler Smith Reasoning: 23XI wants a third charter. Chandler Smith is probably the next ready driver in the Toyota pipeline unless 23XI wants Heim/JGR wants Heim. Either way, one of those two will likely run in the 67 next year if 23XI secures a charter. (In order, I'd say Trackhouse, 23XI, RFK, and Front Row are the most likely teams to expand)
Spire (71) Michael McDowell
Spire (77) Carson Hocevar
Kaulig Trackhouse (99) Daniel Suarez Reasoning: Kaulig and Trackhouse merging and Daniel Suarez's contract situations seem to be separate issues. Suarez could easily end up leaving this team - especially if JGR and Suarez make up and Suarez gets the 19 back. I doubt it, though. Suarez won Atlanta and has 2 wins in 3 years, which honestly isn't bad when you consider we're in a win-and-you're-in format. I do think Suarez's seat is warm, but all indications are that the contract talks are going well. I don't think anything will be signed, though, until the Kaulig/Trackhouse potential merger situation is resolved. That said, if Suarez goes, I'd watch for Gragson, Austin Hill, or
NON-CHARTERED TEAMS TMT (50) Conor Daly - Look at me like I'm dumb all you want, but on the TMT Racing website, it says they want to be full-time by 2025. Who knows, TMT could buy a charter, but based on TMT themselves, there's a chance they're full-time without a charter next year. That said, it definitely could be damn near anyone driving this #50 car next year - let me be clear, though, I only think this is a 50/50 shot.
OTHER TEAMS I'D NOT BE SURPRISED TO SEE WITH CHARTERS RCR (33) - if this happened, they'd likely put Austin Hill in the car. FRM - if this happened, they'd probably just buy an SHR charter and renumber it 36. JRM - it's now or never, Dale Jr. Andretti - Andretti says they're more likely to buy into a team than to straight up buy a charter, but what if they decide to take their Gainbridge money elsewhere? What if Honda comes to Cup?

2024.05.15 01:38 Holidae- The Oxman Hotel

Hey everyone, this is my first attempt at putting this story, or any story, to words. I hope you enjoy and thank you for reading!
When I entered the hotel where my wife was last seen, nothing seemed out of place at first. Children ran through the lobby, bellboys escorted new arrivals while pushing luggage trolleys, and a small line was gathered at the front desk. It seemed like any busy hotel would over summer vacation - full of life and warm, humid air from the continuously opening front doors. The hotel, named ‘The Oxman,’ was located near the southwestern national parks of the United States. School had ended and families now flocked here for reservations booked months in advance. There were also many young people in search of adventure in the desert.
My wife had been one such adventurer. We were part of a rock climbing club that planned a trip to the area to explore some popular climbs in the canyons. I had been unable to join due to work, so she joined in the group’s rental van while I stayed behind. I was going to join once the work week was over, otherwise she would have bunked with one of the single girls. Only she never met the group in the lobby the next morning and after the police came, the rest of the trip was called off.
That was three days ago. The police searched her room and found all of her belongings gone. The investigation has continued, but the hotel hasn’t provided any further information, and with a packed suitcase gone with her the police thought she had chosen to disappear. So I came here myself, knowing I wouldn’t find anything the police had missed, but not knowing what else to do.
It was strange to see the normalcy around me in the lobby. My life was shattered by events that happened here just this week, and yet everyone else continued with their own lives. But as I joined the line at the front desk, I started noticing small ways in which things weren’t right. At first I noticed that as I passed people, no one so much as glanced at me. I wasn’t expecting anyone to outright stare, but not a single person looked in my direction as I passed them. Then I noticed the way they all smiled, their faces strained in looks of delight. Even those just sitting alone in the plush lobby chairs grinned relentlessly. I started to make my way towards an elderly man just sitting there and smiling, to ask him anything that would get him to interact with me, when the concierge behind the desk called to me. I had already made it to the front of the line.
“Good morning, sir, and welcome to the Oxman. How can I help you?”
The young man smiled as did everyone else, but at least he looked at me. His eyes told a different story than the others’.
“Hi, I’d like a room just for the night.”
“Of course sir, just a single bed?” He started typing quickly on the computer in front of him.
“I’m surprised you have availability during such a busy time of year,” I said, “My friends stayed here recently and booked their rooms months in advance.”
He didn’t miss a beat. “We had a cancellation this morning! It’s your lucky day, sir.” He looked up from his computer. “Surely you didn’t come here not expecting to get a room?” He was right - the question made me look like the strange one. “I started to lose hope when I saw how busy the lobby was.” But as I turned to gesture towards the people around us, I suddenly realized they were all gone. It was a moment before the shock wore off and I gathered myself, in which time the concierge spoke again.
“Traffic ebbs and flows!” He proclaimed cheerily. “Once I see your license and put a card on file, I’ll be happy to take you to your room sir.”Goosebumps pricked my skin as uneasiness washed over me. Something was clearly off about this place. But I couldn’t turn back now. I didn’t know where else to look for her and felt the need to see this through. I passed him my information and received a traditional key on a ring.
“I see you didn’t bring any luggage. I trust you can escort yourself to your room, Mr. Flinton?”My eyes were back on the lobby as he spoke, searching for any sign of the life that was just here. “That’s fine. Thank you for your help.” I took my key and read the tag. Room 716. I made my way towards the elevator as the concierge called after me.
“Thank you for your business, Mr. Flinton! We hope you enjoy your stay at The Oxman!”I didn’t turn back as I pressed the elevator button. Hopefully my room wouldn’t be this unsettling. And hopefully, through some miracle, I would find a sign of my wife. As I turned and pressed the button for floor 7, the second highest floor, I looked into the lobby one more time while the doors closed. Now the concierge had vanished as well.

2024.05.14 23:39 TheLunchLadyy Trying to convert a Google Sheet formulas to Excel formulas

Hey guys, been looking online but cannot seem to find an easier way to do this
Trying to to build an internal tool for my team to show quick snippets of financial information, aka a scorecard for a group of owners that we each help with. I have one main sheet to dump weekly data, and I'm trying to then fill in the scorecard from that page.
This internal tool already exists, but we switched over to O365, and the OG creator is no longer here.
I'm attempting to convert this to excel, but ofc it's not working due to the sheets formulas not working for excel. Any help or advice would be appreciated.
Formulas I'm attempting to move from sheets to excel:
First one - Grabbing from data sheet to scorecard.
Sheets: =QUERY(Data!A:AU, "SELECT AVG(J), AVG(J)/AVG(G), AVG(P)/AVG(G), AVG(K), AVG(N), AVG(O), AVG(AG), AVG(AI), AVG(AQ), AVG(AR) LABEL AVG(J) '', AVG(J)/AVG(G) '', AVG(P)/AVG(G) '', AVG(K) '', AVG(N) '', AVG(O) '', AVG(AG) '', AVG(AI) '', AVG(AQ) '', AVG(AR)''")
excel shows: =IFERROR(@__xludf.DUMMYFUNCTION("QUERY(Data!A:AU, ""SELECT AVG(J), AVG(J)/AVG(G), AVG(P)/AVG(G), AVG(K), AVG(N), AVG(O), AVG(AG), AVG(AI), AVG(AQ), AVG(AR) LABEL AVG(J) '', AVG(J)/AVG(G) '', AVG(P)/AVG(G) '', AVG(K) '', AVG(N) '', AVG(O) '', AVG(AG) '', AVG(AI) '', AVG(AQ) '', AVG(AR)''"&""")"),7863.59447370687)
Second one - Grabbing from data sheet to scorecard.
sheets: =QUERY(Data!A:AU, "SELECT C, AVG(J), AVG(J)/AVG(G), AVG(P)/AVG(G), AVG(K), AVG(N), AVG(O), AVG(AG), AVG(AI), AVG(AQ), AVG(AR) WHERE F = '"&$A$5&"' GROUP BY C LABEL C '', AVG(J) '', AVG(J)/AVG(G) '', AVG(P)/AVG(G) '', AVG(K) '', AVG(N) '', AVG(O) '', AVG(AG) '', AVG(AI) '', AVG(AQ) '', AVG(AR)''")
excel shows: =IFERROR(@__xludf.DUMMYFUNCTION("QUERY(Data!A:AU, ""SELECT C, AVG(J), AVG(J)/AVG(G), AVG(P)/AVG(G), AVG(K), AVG(N), AVG(O), AVG(AG), AVG(AI), AVG(AQ), AVG(AR) WHERE F = '""&$A$5&""' GROUP BY C LABEL C '', AVG(J) '', AVG(J)/AVG(G) '', AVG(P)/AVG(G) '', AVG(K) '', AVG(N) '', AVG(O) '', AVG"&"(AG) '', AVG(AI) '', AVG(AQ) '', AVG(AR)''"")"),"Van Nuys")
third and last - looks to be drop down, grabbing from data sheet, and changing the information according to the option you choose.
sheets: =UNIQUE(FILTER(Data!F2:F, Data!E2:E = Tool!A1))
google shows: =IFERROR(@__xludf.DUMMYFUNCTION("UNIQUE(FILTER(Data!F2:F39, Data!E2:E39 = Tool!A1))"))
Any ideas?

2024.05.14 22:57 Trevorlahey1 Trip Report - 13 days Panama

I wanted to give back a bit after receiving some great information from folks on this sub before a (very short notice and sparsely planned) solo trip to Panama in late April/early May of 2024. I'm subtitling this post "I did a lot in Panama so you don't (necessarily) have to". Truth be told, I started the trip with 4 nights and one in-country flight booked and built the rest of my itinerary on the fly. I definitely could have used an extra week or so before the trip to do some itinerary planning, deeper research on where I chose to stay, etc. but I really enjoyed most of the trip and would absolutely recommend Panama as a solo trip destination.
Rough pre-departure itinerary:
I arrived in Panama City on time and took an Uber straight to Selina (cost $28). The Selina there is in a decent location, kind of on the edge of Casco Viejo but walkable to everything. I checked in and was told there was a welcome happy hour with a free drink and a free walking tour every day at 10. The 6-person dorm had a dedicated bathroom, but wasn't much for the price ($30/night) and I'm just now realizing I booked a 4-person dorm then was put in the wrong lodging... There is a bar and allegedly a pool on the roof of the property, but the pool was not open when I was there. The welcome drink was an underwhelming event, though I did meet a few cool people I ended up doing more with later. There really isn't much in the way of common space at Selina Casco Viejo and I found it to be overpriced, underwhelming, and not a great place to meet people. I ended up booking the canal tour ($60ish) with them (which was via the personal vehicle of the guide, a small sedan cramming 4 of us in plus the driver), but I did a different free walking tour after hearing poor reviews of the one provided by Selina. While Selina felt like a huge waste (would not recommend this location), I really liked Casco Viejo. The food was surprisingly good, especially ceviche at Marea https://maps.app.goo.gl/MdWBJ1uw4mWLB7r2A and a nice stop for middle eastern at Estambul Casco https://maps.app.goo.gl/qFq8wAm5NEzJw84F8 . I also made a quick stop with some people from the hostel at La Fabrica https://maps.app.goo.gl/WdAG1KAhwmkj1TbS8 which had a decent tap list and cool vibe and the Pedro Mandinga Rum bar (highly recommend) for some beers and a rum flight https://maps.app.goo.gl/seXCnetthN18BbUB9 . I also, as a cigar smoker, made a stop at the official La Casa del Habano store https://maps.app.goo.gl/uhswvnFPe1Y1Uzbu9 where the staff was chill and the cigarum selection was good. I finished out my cigar and partook in a bit of happy hour across the street at Finca del Mar which had a decent outdoor area for a drink https://maps.app.goo.gl/kPSiTHdd2mJmtakGA but the food was not recommended so I didn't try it.
I was up early to get to David on Sunday morning, so I figured I'd just grab food and coffee at the airport lounge (mistake). It turns out the Copa flight to David departs from the "domestic" gate, which is a standalone area on the ground floor of the airport. There are no amenities, just a single vending machine, and you get bussed to the plane. Do not go early for a David flight, security was very easy and I ended up waiting in the small seating area for way too long. The flight was fine, but don't expect to access a lounge or coffee shop after security.
I got to David pretty early and hadn't done my research on transit, but knew there was public bus service to Boquete. I was trying to figure out how to get to the bus terminal when a taxi offered to drive me all the way to Boquete for $40 which seemed like a decent deal so I went for it. Boquete is pretty small, a little mountain town with a relaxed vibe. I spent quite a bit of time at the brewery which, if you know craft beer pretty well, wasn't the best on beer quality but had good live music and a fun atmosphere https://maps.app.goo.gl/EJFiRiwQsbJ89UPa9 . I worked from here a little bit too, definitely where I spent the most time. I got a delicious dinner at RetroGusto which was really reasonable https://maps.app.goo.gl/8gcU1GHqXrfbTCoX9 and a good lunch at Donde Giselle which was a little more expensive, but also delicious https://maps.app.goo.gl/uNsz1EqCDfnSpYfk8 . I did a coffee finca tour through Bambuda ($35) at Don Pepe. It was pretty cool, not a lot of walking but the guide was knowledgeable and we got to see the full operation in a small footprint. I bought one bag and was happy I did, they were 3 times the price in the airport on the way home. The Tres Cascadas (three waterfall) trail was a must, it does have a steep section that has ropes affixed to help but was otherwise a pretty straightforward trail. It did cost a few dollars to hike as it's on private property. I took a taxi there ($20) but took the bus back ($2.25). The bus comes by every 30-40 minutes and they generally wait a bit at the entrance to the trail from the road to see if people come down. We did end up picking up a whole bunch of kids leaving school, but it was pretty funny and we managed to fit everyone. I did do the Volcan Baru hike, which cost $18 for a taxi to the trailhead but was otherwise free. It is a grueling hike, it took a little over 5 hours for me to get to the top and I was not having fun. I was very lucky to encounter a couple who was dropped off at the same time at the trailhead and, while we did not hike together, we did take a few breaks together and it was nice to be within sight of their headlamps. It was COLD at the top and I was happy I had a light down jacket and a fleece. I did a good job of timing up my climb with the sunrise, only needing to wait at the top for maybe 30 minutes before the sun came up. You can go up in a jeep, and I was very lucky to beat the offroad vehicles up as they were very loud coming up the mountain. It did get pretty crowded at the top by the time all of the jeeps had emptied out and their clients climbed the last bit to the summit. The view was phenomenal, you can see both the Caribbean and the Pacific on a clear day and the sunrise was beautiful. It was a little annoying that the 6 of us who climbed it had to share with the 25 or so who rode up in cars, but worth it. One spot I wish I had visited, but it just didn't work out, was a wood fire pizza spot that came recommended by our coffee guide and by several travelers https://maps.app.goo.gl/T93KKqHxXoQ7AFhf6 . I got lucky at the Bambuda Castle as I booked a 3 bed room but had it to myself. It had a nice restaurant and common space within the castle itself that was a good working space and had a fantastic view. The food was pretty good, with a few vegetarian options and smoothies. It's a pretty decent walk from the center of town, and about $4-5 taxi ride from the Boquete center. If I went again, I would probably look to stay somewhere in the center of town but I don't regret giving the Castle a shot.
I traveled out of Boquete to Bocas del Toro the same day I did the Baru hike, leaving via shuttle at 1 PM ($37) which I arranged through Bambuda. I ended up using a discount QR code at Bambuda Castle to book their Bocas town Hostel for three nights. The shuttle was fine, but it's a quick trip through winding mountain roads so be prepared if you get carsick. A big bonus, that I would recommend you ask about, was that this shuttle did not go all the way to Almirante, but instead stopped at Chiriqui Grande and proceeded via small boat (lancha) from there. The longer boat trip was fantastic, much better than the long/boring road which runs the rest of the way. I got stopped right off the boat in by several people trying to sell tours and got one person's number for a potential $35 Cayo Zapatilla tour but didn't commit, choosing to get to Bambuda Bocas Town first and settle in before making decisions. While I wish I had spent some more time at either red frog beach or another island, with only 3 nights and having booked late my options were limited. For Bocas Town, Bambuda was great. The front desk folks were pretty helpful and the restaurant was good for breakfast (the vegetarian burrito option is better than the sandwich). The hostel deck goes right out to the lagoon, and it's always busy with people hanging out in the sun or jumping into the lagoon. It was a great spot to do some work over coffee and, frankly, I wish I had spent more time here or at the Bambuda Lodge. I ended up doing the Caya Zapatilla tour (highly recommend, if only for the stop at Caya Zapatilla) for $35 with the operator I met right off the boat. This included pick up and drop off from Bambuda, and they had a cooler that I threw a few Balboas of my own in for the trip. We did stop mid-way for lunch which was not included and was a little expensive. This was the only actual tour I did during my time there, I spent my other full day just kind of hanging out and went to Starfish Beach (not as nice as Caya Zapatilla, but worth an afternoon) with a group from the hostel. I also did salsa night at Selina (fun, but a bad instructor) and karaoke at Aqua Lounge (get there in time to get a round of the happy hour special, the screen is behind the stage so not ideal for karaoke but it's easy to get on the list). I did not do Filthy Friday, I ended up departing Bocas that day but I would have been on the fence about it anyway. I guess it's a "when in Bocas" thing, so I probably would have gone for it. I really wish I had spent another night in Bocas, I regretted not having another day out there as soon as I left. It turned out to be the best place on my trip to meet people, it's definitely a general party vibe, and actually the best place to get work done of the hostels I stayed at. I did dinner at Pier 19 which was pretty nice, if not a little expensive and probably not a good solo traveler vibe https://maps.app.goo.gl/6vJG1rdUPCqEf9W3A . I did brunch one day away from Bambuda at Casa Papaya, their typical Panamanian breakfast and it was a great deal/meal https://maps.app.goo.gl/9CPFCxu6woWwKuwM7 . I did hear from some people that the bird island was a fun tour, and worth the day/cost. I did some bonus late night, unofficial stuff like swimming after midnight at Selina and an impromptu midnight trip out to see the bioluminescence and the stars with a random lancha taxi from the Selina dock. Not sure how I'd direct someone to arrange that, but say yes if it's an option.
I took off from Bocas via shuttle for the Lost and Found Hostel on Friday around noon ($20) which I arranged at the main lancha dock. This shuttle did not include a boat all the way to Chiriqui Grande, it was the short boat with the long road segment. A few people did get car sick during the first leg of the trip, the road is in pretty rough shape so lots of speeding up, slowing down, and swerving potholes. Lost and Found really caught my eye because of how much I enjoyed Secret Garden Cotopaxi in Ecuador. In the end, it didn't live up to that lofty expectation and I should not have squeezed it in. The allure is that it's isolated in the jungle, you have to walk about 15 minutes up the trail from the road to reach the hostel property. There are several buildings, with one primary common area with a few tables and hammocks. A big downside is that everything is outdoors, under cover of roofs but open still, which wasn't ideal in the evening during the season I went where it rained in the afternoons. There is a community kitchen if you bring your own food along, or there is an option to get breakfast/lunch/dinner from the hostel. I had a few meals there: the smoothie bowl was good, the lentil curry was a little on the salty side. The hiking is pretty cool and I ended up going up over the mountain to the big tree, the lookout, and the river. I didn't bring water, but definitely should have brought a liter along. In the end, with only about half a dozen other people staying there and 2/3 of the staff being pretty insular and not really socializing with the guests, it just wasn't a great addition to my trip. It might be a better option for a group or during a different season, but it provided a logistical challenge to make my flight back from David to Panama City and it wasn't really worth the risk of making it work, so I hired a car ($30) to take me to David and just ate the price of my second night at Lost and Found. It was beautiful, but it just wasn't on the same level as Secret Garden Cotopaxi which inspired me to give this a shot. I think, all in, my stop at Lost and Found cost me about $76.
The combination of having scheduled a flight on election day (oops) and the lack of help from lost and found staff meant that my best bet was a night in David. I used Hilton points to book a night at the Hampton and had myself a recovery night. I got a hot and ready pizza from the Little Caesar's next door and two Sam Adam's Boston Lagers from the bar. Fantastic recovery night, vey nice Hampton, and a pretty nice little breakfast. It refreshed me at a point where I was not really enjoying the trip and pushed me to go for one more stop rather than laying low in Panama City.
After my flight back to Panama City, I took the metro all the way to the Avenida Terminal (less than $1 total, it is very easy to purchase a card and load it at the station) to grab the bus to Valle de Anton. It was fairly easy to find the window to buy the bus ticket ($4.25). It's important to buy for El Valle and not just Anton, a town which is not where you want to end up. There was a confusing bit of business related to a transit card (not the same transit card as the metro. I couldn't seem to find a machine to buy one from, and eventually the guy at the turnstile took pity and just used his own to let me in. I paid him back, but it was very confusing that you needed to buy the ticket then a card with which to pay an additional 10 cents to get to the bus at Gate 53. I can't really offer advice other than you should try to figure out how to get this card, or if you can just pay with a dime, right when you buy your ticket. I let the bus (not a very big bus, somewhere between a van and a bus) driver know where I was headed on the way and they dropped me right at Bohdi in Valle de Anton. The whole trip is about 3 hours, with lots of local stops the whole way. Bohdi was a pretty cool spot, with a great yoga space with a guided lesson on a TV every morning. It has a kitchen if you want to cook for yourself and free coffee plus breakfast every day from 7:30-10:00. Both breakfasts were pancakes, but it was free and they were pretty good. There are some cool lounge spots out back, a few cafe tables out front, and a loft space as well. It was a decent, but not perfect spot, to do work if that's what you're looking for. The dorm does have 3 levels of beds, and they aren't all that comfy, but I'd recommend Bohdi. The first night I was in town I went to the Golden Frog Inn on a recommendation and it turned out to be a great spot to watch the sunset and have some pretty good (although a small) vegetarian tacos https://maps.app.goo.gl/pzRuyYuwHZvMVnAo8 . One afternoon I chose to do the India Dormida hike, I left and walked all the way back to Bohdi, it was a few hours total. It's a quick climb up to the top and you can walk the whole ridge that forms the edge of the caldera. It was a beautiful view and you can really see the old crater rim formations from the top. It's clear up there, no trees and wide open, and the breeze was very refreshing. I ended up coming down about halfway across the ridge, starting from the north. I grabbed a vegetarian dinner at El Rincon Colombiano which I'd recommend https://maps.app.goo.gl/tRcAAnAm9fYni7Nv8 and some guacamole and a beer at La Ranita which was pretty good https://maps.app.goo.gl/BcdB8uCqaSRv1RyE8 . Overall, I really liked Valle de Anton and I'm happy I made it happen. It's a little drier and warmer than Boquete, with a lot less coffee influence, but I liked the vibe and wish I had done more hiking around the area.
For my last evening in Panama, I grabbed a room just to have a place to put bags and clean up before my flight at Hotel Caracas, a recommendation from someone I met in my first stop in Casco Viejo. I did not plan to work from here, nor did I spend a night, but for $35 it was a perfect spot to leave things as I went to knock out a few more items before my flight home. I popped into Tantalo for a quick bite to eat https://maps.app.goo.gl/9pA9Dmw8AE9doabT7 which I don't know if I'd recommend for food, but the view was good. I think I meant to go to CasaCasco, which was recommended for ceviche and sushi, but ended up in the wrong spot. I then went over to Element to get some cocktails https://maps.app.goo.gl/mwYt2D7X43ua4jGu6 . Element has an interesting vibe, kind of a steampunk theme to the décor. The two guys behind the bar, who I believe own it, were fantastic. They don't have a set menu but instead try to match a drink to what you're feeling at the time. I had a classic daquiri and an old fashioned, which both came with a little bit of a twist on the classic recipe. They also pulled down a few different spirits which we tasted together, overall I'd highly recommend a stop and it was especially fun as the only patron there. After two cocktails, I cleaned up and called an Uber and headed to the airport. Just a heads up, the Copa Club is pretty nice, has limited food, but tragically closes at 9 PM. I had a flight that left at nearly 11 PM, so this was a little disappointing.
Overall, I loved Panama. The people were friendly, even if the service in many places was pretty lackluster. It's more expensive than Colombia or Ecuador, but several people told me it's slightly cheaper than Costa Rica. It's a good stop if you're not sure about central or south America as it's extremely safe, if you use common sense, and it's not too hard to get around using shuttles/taxis/ubers if you don't want to brave public transit. It offers very good food options in Panama City, and it's easy to find a Hampton Inn/Hooters/McDonald's/Little Caesar's/Wendy's if you need a break from being adventurous. The Spanish isn't difficult, and most people speak at least some English. I would have dropped lost and found hostel from my itinerary if I planned it again, but did not regret any of the other stops. I do kind of wish I had focused on Bocas and Boquete, saving Valle de Anton and maybe San Blas together for a future trip, but I had already painted myself into a bit of a corner with my David-Panama flights by the time I realized this. I hope this helps someone as they plan their Panama trip, or helps them decide Panama is a worthwhile visit! Please do not make as many changes as I did, I absolutely did at least one too many stops and wish I had spent more time in Bocas and probably Valle de Anton. Anyway, feel free to ask questions in the comments and I'll try to address them as they come in!

2024.05.14 22:47 SirSweetie 46 [M4F] #LosAngeles #SFV - Chill solo-poly guy looking for fun dates & new adventures

I live in Lake Balboa (Encino/Van Nuys/Reseda area) and love going to restaurants, museums, vintage shops, and flea markets. I'm 46, 5'10", 180 lbs - a total dad-bod. Glasses, bearded, balding. Full time employed, professional, sane, own a home and walk around the lake on nice summer days. I can fold a fitted sheet, keep a plant or two alive more than a month, and cook a delicious meal without burning the place down. I'm solo-poly/ENM, partnered but looking for someone fun and chill to do some exploring around LA without the expectations of a traditional relationship/riding the escalator.
My work had kept me busy in my younger years, now I have more freedom and realize I live in this awesome city and have barely seen any of it. Are you an expert tour guide who I can go with to all the great sights around this town?
Do you know where the best burger and dive bar are in a 5-mile radius of any random point in LA County? If so, please, write me. Right now.
I'm open to a wide spectrum of possible relationship parameters. I've found in the past, I work best with someone who already has a primary, or at least is not expecting me to fill the role of their primary. And I'm not expecting you to be my primary either. Beyond that, let's talk and see where life takes us. Open to all ages and dynamics.
Introverted (most likely ISTJ if that's anything to you), into board games, video games, pinball, sci-fi movies, and bad TV shows (I'll binge Australian Survivor and The Traitors endlessly). I'm also into photography (architectural, street, and landscapes, mainly). My last best vacation was to Hawaii, and looking to travel more, of course. Very laid-back and easy going. Voracious learner.
Want to know more? Ask questions, I'm friendly :)

2024.05.14 22:36 ZoGodson Why does new games n television just the media as a whole have such a strong presence of demons in it these days?

Why does new games n television just the media as a whole have such a strong presence of demons in it these days?
Im a 1991 baby and the world is much different now. But within the past 15 years seems like the media has a strong presence of demonic ideology. Like Hip hop/pop constantly talkin bout "demon time" or you see a lot of witches and witch craft in the music videos, rock has been like that like since it started lol but just got that whole fire and underworld theme,
Anime at least the ones i used to watch, the popular ones got some type of demon stuff goin on from Naruto, Black Clover, Demon Slayer. (In all three of the series they befriending the demons,in DS bruh sister a demon) But even like the fictional scary movies and shows like the new Candyman or Abigail got that super demonic vibe , Van Helsing and the Originals, had to stop watching those, thought they were gonna be more innocent like Twilight, siiikkkeee The cool looking phone games and platform games like Hades, demon souls, or devil may cry (i used to be scared to play devil may cry as a kid) every lil RPG game got a demon in it
I recently gave my life back to CHRIST and my eyes opened up to how desensitized "demons" have become to the world well at least in America. And nowadays i hear kids talking bout demons like they pets or pokemons or somethin, like whats goin on its gettin normalized. Do ppl understand what a demon is and/or its purpose or what it represents smh, They're here to "kill, steal, and destroy" but i bet a non-believer will say they dont exist, but they do and its a big spiritual warfare going on, this why you see the virtues of this country(US) digressing every year, we done fell far from being a Nation under GOD
James 2:19 Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.”
Ephesians 6:12 “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”
So I'm on Youtube watching something about Christians studies then an ad pops up for a perfume i guess called Alien or something but the chick aint look like n alien she looked like some sexy dbz thot from the hood demon chick wit long crazy purple nails, crazy purple hair n eyes , theres purple lightning everywhere, made me laugh like what the heck lol that caught me off guard, (example of spiritual warfare devil knows thots used to be my weakness) but this seems to be the new Theme of the world everything just demonish, oh yea forgot this was a question, but why is this?
I already know, i just want some of yal non-believers explanations or to see if yal even notice it.

2024.05.14 17:33 youngleaves Run clubs for slow people?

I've tried a few of the local social ("pace inclusive") run clubs. On more than one occasion I've found myself running alone at the back, holding up the rest of the group, which is the opposite of fun. The thing is, I don't think I'm that slow! I routinely finish in the top half of the field at local road races and was age-graded at 51% at my last parkrun, so I would describe myself as decidedly average. Personally, the whole point of joining a running club is to meet people who share my hobby and socialize, which for me requires running at 6:30-7 min/km.
Are there any running groups out there for someone like me? Bonus points if they're easy to transit or cycle to from central Vancouver (Fairview), and if they meet on weekday evenings or weekend mornings.
ETA: Thanks for all of the suggestions so far! I wanted to add that I'm not looking for a paid clinic with a training plan and coaching, but a more casual drop-in social run kind of environment. Ideally free but a nominal cost is OK too. The North Van/Burnaby locations won't work for me but might be helpful for other folk who find this thread!

So gorgeous and playful Yukon A2118258 East Valley Los Angeles animal service
Yukon described as a ROCKSTAR in playgroup, greeter, very playful

A2118258

sos Needs out of the shelter by 5/15/24 Neutered male, black and white Siberian Husky 2 years 5 months, 53lbs Been at the shelter since 12/14/2023 "Yukon was easy to leash after entering kennel and kennelmate was in cubby. Moderate pull to yard but no reaction to barking dogs. In yard, did some zoomies then came to me for pets. Not interested in balls or toys. Ran the fence line with dog in adjacent yard. All very happy like. Mostly spent the time sniffing and exploring on his own. Walk back was easy and he went straight into kennel."
"Easy to get into his kennel with a treat toss. Yukon was very excited once I was in, had zoomies and jumped inside the kennel, which made it difficult to lease him. I waited for him to calm down, then leash him. He had moderate pull to the yard. Noticed but not super reactive to other dogs barking in the kennels. In the yard, he had more zoomies, and jumped up and down. He was easy to redirect, and treat motivated. He knows his sit. Working on his 'wait' which he was successful in doing a few times. He would let you pet his head, but would also get excited and want to nib on your hand/arm. When giving treat, tossing is better, but if you hand it to him, he will gently take your whole hand (gentle chew). Easy to leash and take back to his kennel, easy to return with a treat toss." 2024.05.14 14:28 Terrorvision67 My Summer DLC thoughts

Michael comes into Franklins office and your character finally meets him. Michael is running the movie studio now and it seems all of his movies are being released ahead of time on illegal streaming services and it turns out you have to hunt down "the tech genius" that was introduced in the Clucking Bell Raid that has the Terrorbyte.
Once you track him down after a few missions, it goes deeper. The tech genius is working for Isiah Friedlander, who was reintroduced to GTA through the Drug Wars and Michael's former shrink. Once Friedlander is killed, there is information that he was not the final boss... and was working for Martin Madrazo, who still is pissed at Michael for the events of GTA Story Mode.
The final mission is to take out Madrazo in a scarface style setting where Martin is holed up in his mansion and you blast your way through his minions until you take him out.
Michael and Franklin pull up after it is over. Michael says this place has brought me nothing but misery and Franklin says I got it covered as a plane flys by carpet bombing the Madrazo property. Over the radio, it is revealed that the voice is Trevor as the pilot and after a short exchange between Michael and Trevor, the plane disappears heading back to Sandy Shores. All the loose ends are tied up with our 3 main protagonists.
Payment would be $2,500,000. The first time you complete it, R* would give you the option to take the money now or bank it into your social club for a future GTA game we all know about that I cannot type in here or the post instantly gets locked.
This would give those who complete the DLC the chance at a head start with a decent property, car and some weapons. If you complete it multiple times, that money drops down to $1.500,000 and goes directly into your GTA 5 Online bank account.
Like Franklins agency, Michael has a handful of side missions all paying 40-60k.
Take out the gang that is harassing the movie location.
Save a kidnapped actoactress.
Find the van that has the final print of a new movie.
Ok. Thats it. As you can tell, I would like to see closure for the story mode characters getting the band back together before they all ride off into the sunset. I cannot see the winter DLC, if there even is one, to be that great with the new game coming soon.
Like, hate, ignore or discuss below :)
