2024.03.05 00:38 YorozuyaDazai my 2 cents

If you have read most of the novels that took place after meteor hitting gaea in o.g. and advent children you probably somehow can understand me why I think the remake/rebirth and possible next installments are from the novels.

Kyrie and the rest of midgar new chars appeared in Turks Lateral Biography: The Kids are Alrght - so Im waiting for this novel's.MC Evan Townshed to appear later.

What Zack and Biggs are experiencing in remake/rebirth is clearly Maidens who travel the Planet which Aerith and Sephiroth were already hinting at Remake.

Cela s'appelle «The Pirate Hunter» The True Story of Captain Kidd par: Richard Zacks. Bonne lecture. C'est une biographie historique, donc ce n'est peut-être pas pour tout le monde et Zacks fait quelques pas ici et là, mais il est généralement bien acheté et très divertissant à lire! Peut trouver sur Amazon. Espérons que vous apprécierez.

2024.02.01 19:10 thatjonkid420 Book I’m reading to hype me up for the release.

I know most are playing black flag and what not to get their pirate fix but I wanted to recommend a book to read if anyone is interested. Takes place in the same area and time as our game. It’s called “The Pirate Hunter” the true story of captain Kidd by: Richard Zacks. Great read. It’s a historical biography so it might not be for everyone and Zacks takes a few leaps here and there but it’s generally well sourced and very entertaining to read! Can find on Amazon. Hope you enjoy.

2023.12.18 07:11 TheToledoMan Archie Sonic Extended Universe (ASEU) Phase 1 and 2

Archie Sonic Extended Universe (ASEU) Phase 1 and 2
I have saw a lot of images and fanfics about how would be a Sega or Sonic Cinematic Universe, everyone using the formula and style of MCU. But, as an amateur fan of DC Comics, I ask myself: How would be a shared universe, but with the style of the DCEU? To me, it would be better a chronology only with Sonic than all Sega with this style. This fanfic is inspired mainly on the Archie universe and in the main games, changing things to make them more coherent or give them a different vision to a character and mixing it with some from other media like Surge, Kitsunami, Rough and Tumble from IDW. In this alternate reality, Sega and Archie have won the lawsuits against Ken Penders, so characters from the comics continuity could be used without any problem in any media (the Freedom Fighters of this fanfic are modified to look more taken from the main games). I will be recounting the events that occur in real life behind the production of the films and in the Fandom, taking inspiration from real events that occurred to Warner during the development of the DCEU. Some characters will be reduced to just cameos, reference or will not even appear or be mentioned (such as Antoine, Chip, Dark Gaia, Rotor or Emerl), mainly because I do not know how to include them or do not believe that they contribute much. I made this timeline based on the wikis, because I can't read the comics since I don't have access to them, so correct me if you see that something that tries to be similar to these is wrong. I'll be publishing the phases and some characters biography by Deviantart, I'll share it here when are available.
Phase 1: Freedom Fighters
In 2008, the production of a Sonic movie would begin, after Sega accepted proposals from comic book and games writers, first opting for an individual movie, using them as inspiration. It would be produced by Sony and co-produced by Sega. Shortly after, Ken Penders' lawsuits began to claim his characters, lawsuits that almost removed Sally Accorn from the film. However, in this alternate universe both Sega and Archie won, so more comics, video games, movies, and more could be produced with these characters without problem (and, consequently, the Super Genesis Wave event would be very different and have other reasons). In 2010, Zack Snyder would be hired as director, a choice made to give the character a facelift and a different vision, one that was darker and deeper (without going to the extreme of being Shadow). Filming would begin in 2011, in various locations of North America. After seeing the success that Nintendo and Disney were having with the Super Smash Bros universe, Sega would decide that this Sonic movie, called "The Fastest Thing Alive", would be the beginning of its own shared universe, beginning to plan more projects in the future, starting the production of more films and being announced at E3 2012 with a trailer that had the Sonic SatAm opening song. Finally, the film was released in March, 2013.
Phase 1: Freedom Fighters
The Fastest Thing Alive (B-15, 2013) Director: Zack Snyder DCEU equivalent: Man of Steel Cast: Brenton Thwaites as Sonic (main character) Melissa Benoist as Sally Accorn (main character) Mark Hamill as Dr. Ivo Robotnik "Eggman" (antagonist) Josh Brolin as a prototype of Metal Sonic (antagonist) Mark Strong as Uncle Chuck Asher Angel as kid Tails (post credit scene cameo) Henry Cavill as Shadow (post credit scene cameo) Bryan Cranston as Gerald Robotnik (post credit scene cameo)
Story: After years of living in ignorance of his past, Sonic, an anthropomorphic hedgehog with the power of super speed, attempts to discover more about what used to be the home planet of his species; Mobius (currently destroyed, now Mobians live on the Earth), and the Chaos Emeralds, the supposed origin of its power. During his trip, he will meet different people who would mark his life, such as Sally Acorn, or the one who would be his enemy for life: Dr. Ivo Robotnik, better known as "Eggman." In the first post-credits scene, we would see a peculiar two-tailed fox child, who was witnessing the catastrophe of the battle between Sonic and Proto Metal Sonic. Inexplicably, it begins to fly with its tails, trying to save some people, without any success. (Inspired by the Zod battle flashback in The Flash). In the second post-credits scene, we would see Eggman searching his grandfather's database, after the failure that was his first plan, he decided to use his other card. After a while, he found what he was looking for; a certain "Project Shadow", which was frozen 50 years ago. He planned to continue it on his own.
Changes I made: -Chuck isn't Sonic's uncle; is his adoptive father, but his relationship still being similar -Mobius is destroyed -Sally isn't a princess because Acorn kingdom doesn't exist on Earth, is just a warrior defender of the rights of Mobians.
Fans of the franchise loved this film, most of them liked the approach given to the character. However, the general public and critics were not entirely in agreement. In the end, it ended up raising $700 million, an amount that satisfied Sega and Sony. Some time later, in the Comic-Con of the same year, some future projects of this universe were announced, having Zack Snyder as main director. These are: -Ultimate Form of Life (2014) -The Flying Fox (2014) -Silver (2015) -Sally Accorn:First Freedom Fighter (2015) -The Suppression Squad (2016) And finally, the ones that caused the most hype; Sonic Vs. Shadow: Awakening of the Ultimate Form of Life (2016) and Freedom Fighters (2017). In that same presentation, it was declared that both the comics and games that are already available and those that come out in the future will serve as inspiration. Shortly after receiving this information, fans began to speculate and theorize about what could happen in the future films and what would come next.
Ultimate Form of Life (2014, B-15) DCEU equivalent: The Batman (cancelled) Director: Ben Affleck Cast: Henry Cavill as Shadow (main character) Izabela Vidovic as Maria Robotnik (main character) Bryan Cranston as Gerald Robotnik (main character) Sean Schemmel as Black Doom Rami Malek as Emerl (mention and cameo) Mark Hamill as Dr. Ivo Robotnik "Eggman" (post credit scene cameo)
Story: In the late 1940s, a scientist named Gerald Robotnik would begin a project called "Project Shadow", one that sought to create the ultimate form of life. With the help of aliens he managed to contact, he manages to complete it on the ARK space station, creating Shadow the Hedgehog. In his early years he would have a quiet life on the station, however, several disputes with the government would cause the base to be assaulted, leaving him frozen in a capsule on a secret island. In the post-credits scene, we would see Eggman attacking the facility in search of him. When he finally finds it, it says: "If my robot couldn't beat him, then you can."
Unlike the previous film, the dark tone of this one was better received by the public and critics, grossing around $680 million.
The Flying Fox (2014, PG-13) Director: Stephen Chbosky Cast: Asher Angel as kid Miles "Tails" Prower (main character) Erika McKitrick as Bunnie D' Coolette (main character) Brian Tee as Amadeus Prower Colleen O'Shaughnessey as Rosemary Prower Mark Hamill as Dr. Ivo Robotnik "Eggman" (antagonist) Brenton Thwaites as Sonic (cameo and mention) Josh Brolin as a prototype of Metal Sonic (cameo)
Story: Upon discovering the secret of his idol: Dr. Eggman, a genius fox boy with the peculiarity of having twin tails begins to confront him along with his best friend, being considered the second and youngest Freedom Fighter. In the last scene, we would see Tails moving to Station Square to study at his highly acclaimed university. Upon arriving, he sees in terror the battle that Sonic and the prototype Metal Sonic were fighting. The rest is the same as the first post-credits scene of The Fastest Thing Alive.
This installment would receive a lot of praise from the LGBT community and progressives for how it addressed the issue of bullying and racism, in addition to how well it handled how it felt to discover who your idol really is. It grossed approximately $490 million.
Silver (2015, B-15) Director: Denis Villeneuve DCEU equivalent: Wonder Woman Cast: Timothée Chalamet as Silver (main character) Iblis is purely CGI (antagonist) John DiMaggio as the Duke of Soleanna Sadie Sink as kid Elise
Story: In an attempt to save his future, Silver, an albino hedgehog with telekinetic powers, travels to the past to try to avoid the Soleanna catastrophe, which occurred on June 23, 1991. During his journey, he meets the kingdom and its people, including to little princess Elise and the duke. The longer he stays, the more attached he becomes to this time, and the more conflicting the idea of returning to his time becomes. In the end, after sealing what would be Iblis in the future inside Elise (with the condition that he would be released when she dies), he decides to stay in the past to protect him and avoid future catastrophes, accidentally creating the current timeline.
This film had a very good reception, especially due to the excellent direction of Denis Villenueve , the construction of the world, how it would feel travel to a previous era and what it contributed to the lore, having a box office of 307 million dollars.
Sally Accorn: First Freedom Fighter (2015, B-15) Director: Anna Boden, Ryan Fleck Cast: Melissa Benoist as Sally Accorn (main character) Scott McNeil as Ex-King Nigel Acorn (aka. Sally's father) April Winchell as Rosie Woodchuck Mark Hamill as Dr. Ivo Robotnik "Eggman" (antagonist) Idris Elba as Knuckles (cameo)
Story: The year are late 90s-early 2000s. After meeting Dr. Eggman in an attempted genocide in a town, Sally, an anthropomorphic squirrel descended from the ancient kingdom Acorn, falls out with him because of his Anti-Mobian ideals and his superiority complex, praying that one day she would overthrow him and bring peace between species, thus giving birth to the first Freedom Fighter.
It had a more mixed reception, reaching $330 million at the box office, however, fans were eager to see what this shared universe had to offer.
Suppression Squad (R rated, 2016) Director: David Ayer DCEU equivalent: Suicide Squad David Ayer's cut (2016) Cast: Max Mittelman as Scourge Tom Kenny as Patch D' Collette Elizabeth Banks as Alicia Acorn Christopher Welch as Miles Prower Ashley Burch as Fiona Fox Mark Ballou as Boomer Walrus Jim Carrey as Dr. Kintobor (antagonist) Jason Momoa as O'Nux (antagonist)
Story: First appearance of the equivalent of Anti-Mobius and indications of a multiverse. In this reality, we are experiencing an era of peace after a fierce dictatorship that had lasted approximately 30 years, and which ended with the death of Jules Hedgehog. However, from the remains of this failed tyranny arises a new team called the Suppression Squad, which has the goal of destroying the greatest forces of good, continuing Jules' legacy and ruling with an iron fist. This squad is made up of:
Scourge: A criminal recently released from prison, son of former dictator Jules Hedgehog. From a very young age, he was corrupted and psychologically damaged to a point that seems irreparable, HEY, it seems (basically he is Sonic if he had a bad time, and Sonic is him if he had a good time), becoming the greatest villain after his father, whom he ended up murdering in cold blood at the age of 17. Although, strangely, things started to smile on him after he got out of jail, making him a little more relaxed, just a little. He is quite similar to Sonic in both abilities and personality, only, in this last point, the benevolent attributes are quite corrupted and darkened, while those that already had some evil are taken to the limit. Despite being the leader of the group, he gets along very badly with some of the other members, such as Patch or Miles.
Patch D' Collette: A fierce and expert warrior with murderous tendencies and currently falled in love with Alicia Acorn, i addition to having a terrible relationship with Scourge, to the point where he tried to kill him on some occasions. Due to an accident he had, he lost one of his eyes, leaving him blind in one eye and wearing an eyepatch ever since.
Alicia Acorn: Girlfriend of Scourge, secondary leader of the group. She is very sadist in every way possible, cruel and destructive, unlike his counterpart.
Miles Prower: Counterpart of Tails, a very serious, stubborn fox with a great desire of independence, along with a violently rebellious streak. He hates everything related to childhood, reason why he hates the "Tails" nickname. Is a lot more prickly than most of the members of the team. Instead of technology, he uses magic, because he hates the technology. He prefers make plans to get out of fights he knows he can't win than be brave and fight them. He hates Scourge with all his soul, but knows that he can't with him.
Fiona Fox: One of the main victims of the Jules dictatory. She was left in prison being very young, developing a dark personality, being converted in a treasure hunter. She is currently in love with Scourge.
Boomer Walrus: An evil and very strong genius, at the level of the main universe Dr. Eggman, willing to go to great lengths to create new inventions, making most of the gadgets of the team.
To achieve their goal, they must overthrow O'Nux, the current ruler, and Dr. Ivo Kintobor, who were the main causes of Jules' government fall. Even though they won't make it, they will try to coordinate to achieve it, with adult, black humor and off-color jokes in between. In the end, after the failed attack of state and the Dr.'s facilities, Scourge is arrested again, the team separates and the world quickly forgets their actions, leaving only Alicia and Miles as leaders.
This part had a mixed review with the audience and critics, mainly because of how unknown the characters were and how much it clashed with the main line, but very good acceptance by adult fans of the franchise, being the link that would establish the SEU as a deconstruction of the Sonic universe, the first R rated and the second film to gross 700 million dollars.
(If you feel than Supression Squad is more faithful to the Archie universe is because I literally copied and pasted them).
Sonic Vs. Shadow: Awake of the Ultimate Form of Life (B-15, 2016) Director: Zack Snyder DCEU equivalent: Batman v Superman Cast: Brenton Thwaites as Sonic (main character) Melissa Benoist as Sally Accorn Asher Angel as a teenage Tails Henry Cavill as Shadow (main character) Mark Hamill as Dr. Ivo Robotnik "Eggman" (Sonic's antagonist) Ben Affleck as The President (Shadow and Eggman's antagonist) Biolizard/Finalhazard is purely CGI (final boss) Timothée Chalamet as Silver Izabela Vidovic as Maria Robotnik (mention and cameo) Bryan Cranston as Gerald Robotnik (mention and cameo) Idris Elba as Knuckles (cameo) Bryn Apprill as Nicole the Holo-Lynx (cameo) Erika McKitrick as Bunnie D' Coolette (cameo) Troy Baker as Antoine D' Coolette (cameo) Dakota Fanning as Amy Rose (cameo)
Sinopsis: After waking up Shadow, Eggman begins to plan a way to take down Sonic and Sally, take over the world, and wipe out the Mobians. Before he knew it, a silver hedgehog was collecting all the information possible while this was happening. Sonic's identity would be revealed to the public and Shadow would begin to cause serious crimes to get his attention, causing much religious and social controversy, doubting the non-existence of the Chaos Emeralds and if they really need someone like him. It would be the first time we would see the trio of hedgehogs together, the seven Chaos Emeralds, the only appearance of Biolizard and the first of Super Sonic, Super Shadow and Super Silver, ending with the sacrifice of the blue hedgehog. This movie would be very similar to Batman V Superman, changing its characters and world for those of Sonic, adapting some events to make them more consistent with the world-building and taking inspiration in Sonic Adventure 2 and Shadow the Hedgehog. In the final scene, we would see Silver discussing with Sally about a project to honor Sonic and other warriors like her, one about a team that is in charge of overthrowing Eggman's empire and protecting both the Mobians and the planet, trying to bring peace. When she asks him what would be the name, he answers: "Freedom Fighters", and the opening song of Sonic SatAm begins to play.
Despite being considered a disappointment to fans, it was a pretty solid film, leaving us eager to see more because of its final scene. Its box office was about $900 million.Seeing that their films were making more and more profits and that the competition was slowly losing, Sega and Sony decided to start accelerating the production of future projects. During the production of Freedom Fighters, Zack Snyder's daughter; Autumn Snyder had taken her own life. Due to the mourning that this situation entailed, he could not continue with the film, leaving it half finished. Realizing that people were liking the dark tone they were using, Sega decided to rehire David Ayer to finish it, denying him the possibility of making many re-recordings.
Freedom Fighters (2017, B-15) Director: Zack Snyder, David Ayer DCEU equivalent: Zack Snyder's Justice League Cast: Freedom Fighters: Brenton Thwaites as Sonic (first dead and later revived) Melissa Benoist as Sally Accorn Asher Angel as a teenage Tails Timothée Chalamet as Silver Idris Elba as Knuckles Bryn Apprill as Nicole the Holo-Lynx Henry Cavill as Shadow (currently not a member) Dakota Fanning as Amy Rose (currently not a member) Others: Ben Affleck as The President Mark Hamill as Dr. Ivo Robotnik "Eggman" (antagonist) Josh Brolin as a Neo Metal Sonic/Metal Overlord (antagonist) Troy Baker as Antoine D' Coolette (cameo) Erika McKitrick as Bunnie D' Coolette (cameo)
Sinopsis: Story inspired by Sonic Heroes. Approximately a year after the events of Sonic Vs Shadow, Sally and Silver, the self-proclaimed leader of the Freedom Fighters, were searching for the candidates that the silver hedgehog proposed to recruit them. Although Shadow denied participating because he was simply not interested, the others were interested in the idea. Three are characters that has been already saw and explored, two accepted and one could not due to personal problems, however there are three other members that we had not seen so far, and they are: Knuckles: One of the few descendants of the echidna society on Earth. Have lived in Mobius during his younghood until the end of the planet. He has great strength, attack, a guardian spirit and a lot of knowledge about the Chaos Emeralds, however he is not very smart to say the least. Nicole: A living, conscious and sentient AI that can manifest itself as software on any computer and in the form of a hologram, in addition to being able to manipulate most machines and computer systems as long as they do not escape its understanding. It was created by a group of scientists, being the first and currently only synthetic living being. Sally managed to obtain it through bribery and, although at first she refused to join because they were strangers, as she grew fond of them it was an increasingly reasonable idea, until she finally accepted at the end of the film. Amy Rose: A very innocent, childish pink hedgehog girl, with unparalleled hammer handling and great combat potential. She is a die-hard fan of Sonic (to the point of considering him her platonic love), so she would do anything to fulfill the mission of reviving him. Due to her toxic, obsessive and innocent personality they decided that it was better not to include her for now, but she could help find the emeralds and resurrect the blue hedgehog. Meanwhile, Eggman was planning and producing his next project; finalize Metal Sonic and turn him into a mechanical beast that is capable of roboticizing whoever he wants and conquering the world, called "Metal Overlord". To try to stop him, our heroes will have to search for the emeralds and restore their best weapon; Sonic. In the post-credits scene, Silver has a dream where he would see the near future. The planet was in a state of war, many buildings were destroyed and the equipment was totally different. Quickly, who appears to be Shadow warns him that someone is arriving, and when he looks at the sky he manages to witness what seemed to be a robotic version of Sally.
This installment was, without a doubt, SEU's biggest success to date, receiving enviable reviews and a billion-dollar box office.
Phase 2:Other Societies https://www.deviantart.com/benjamintoledo/art/Sonic-Extended-Universe-Phase-2-Other-Societies-1002984389
Sony, seeing the great gold mine it was sharing with Sega and inspired by Disney, who had bought the film rights to the Nintendo characters, decided to do the same but with the Sonic universe; From now on only they could make the movies. During the 2017 Game Awards, Sony announced what the next films in this universe and their respective cast would be, announcing this phase as "Other Societies." As the name suggests, in this new batch of films (and now also series) more societies would be explored besides that of Earth, the most important being the Echidna and the Black Arms. Initially, Ken Penders was planned to be the screenwriter of the films where the echidna society has an important role, however, he rejected the role because "he was outraged at how they use his characters." At this time, rumors of mistreatment with the actors began to arise, however some denied it or said that they were common situations for them. At first it was planned that, as with the first part, Ben Affleck would direct the second Shadow film and the Black Arms series, the first would be an adaptation of the different routes of the Shadow the Hedgehog video game and the second a prequel to the entire universe, the first season showing more about how they contributed to Project Shadow and the second being a prequel to the second part, however, due to the problems he had with alcohol in that time they reduced him to playing the president and replacing him with Matt Reeves. He did not like the idea of the project being connected to a shared universe, refusing to direct the film and the second season of Black Arms, however, as the first was a prequel to the entire universe, he agreed to have more control. Taking advantage of the fact that Disney and Nintendo fired James Gunn from the SSBCU for old posts he made on Twitter, Sega approached him to direct a Team Chaotix series and the Suppression Squad sequel, the first being a Knuckles spin-off for the Netflix platform, promising that he will have more freedom to show his vision and style than at Disney. Even though he wasn't a big fan of the franchise, he was able to orient himself and ask if he had any questions.
Knuckles (B-15, 2018) DCEU equivalent:Aquaman Director:James Wan Idris Elba as Knuckles (main character) Christoph Waltz as Kragok (antagonist) Lizzy Caplan as Lien-Da (antagonist) Kevin Hart as Vector Atticus Shaffer as Charmy Simu Liu as Espio Tara Strong as Ray Micheal Mando as Mighty
Sinopsis: The year is 1994. Knuckles, 22, with the trauma still fresh from how his world fell apart, tries to adapt to Earth society. Because of how loyal they were to their homeland, few of their species had migrated, making them currently endangered. Among the few who moved in, there is a group who, in order for their race to "survive", join genocidal terrorist groups and support illegal breeding experiments. When they discover that the Chaos Emeralds and the Master Emerald were transferred to Earth, they try to take advantage of it to generate more individuals, however, and although it hurts, Knuckles must fulfill his role as protector one last time. During this journey, he will meet a group of detectives for hire known as Team Chaotix, capable of doing anything for money.
To everyone's surprise (for bad), this first part was a moderate success, reaching $300 million, but in return it had very good reviews. Shortly after, it was confirmed that James Gunn would direct the second part of Suppression Squad and the series of Team Chaotix. Most of the fandom was skeptical, but those who already knew the director applauded this decision, but still had doubts about how he would lead the team of villains.
Team Chaotix (Series, TV-MA rated, 2018) Director: James Gunn Cast: Bruce Campbell as Vector Atticus Shaffer as Charmy Daisuke Tsuji as Espio Tara Strong as Ray Micheal Mando as Mighty Lucas Hedges as Nack the Weasel Aziz Ansari as Bean The Dynamite
Sinopsis: Set shortly after the events of Knuckles, this series tells us some of the craziest missions of this team, their relationship with each other and some of their personal life, all between adult jokes, black humor and even off-color. During the road, some new members appears.
At first it passed without pain or glory, but it improved thanks to word of mouth, reaching the top 10 of most viewed series on the platform, surpassing season 3 of Wolf O' Donnell, one of the few good recent productions of the competition.
Echidna Society (Series, TV-14 rated, 2018) Cast: Nisa Gunduz as Tikal the Echidna Luo Yi Zou as young Knuckles
Sinopsis: In this series, we will see what the ancient echidna society was like, its culture, ways of life, ways of thinking, its economy, politics, architecture and ballistics. Unlike comics, these did not renounce technology, but maintained their cultural traits. In the last chapters, we would see how this people faced the destruction of Mobius and the mass migration to Earth, seeing the end of the planet in great detail. Among the few who would be transferred would be a young Knuckles, Lien-Da and Kragok, making way for the individual film of Knuckles.
This series had quite mixed reviews, with the most recurring criticism being that "it seemed like an indigenous documentary with touches of science fiction." Shortly after, Ken Penders filed a lawsuit against Sony for having used his idea (although he lost against Sega and Archie), but the matter did not escalate.
The Eggman (R rated, 2018) DC equivalent: The Joker Cast: Mark Hamill as Dr. Ivo Robotnik "Eggman"
Sinopsis: In this film set in the 80s, we would witness in great detail the origin of Eggman, how he obtained his characteristic form, his first inventions and how he came to hate the Mobians. At first, he created war machines for GUN, however, as his knowledge advanced he became corrupted, to the point of considering others inferior and beginning to build his own empire. The last straw was the mass migration of Mobius to his home planet, since, being extraterrestrials, he considered them foreign invaders. In the last scene, set 10 years later, we see how he tries to destroy a town, but a squirrel girl intercepts him.
This film had the best reviews that this universe has ever had, the most praised aspect being Mark Hamill's performance and the psychological depth given to his character, giving meaning to his dark and cruel personality. Its box office was $943 million.
Jackal Squad (Series, TV-14 rated, 2018) Cast: Ben Mendelsohn as Infinite
Sinopsis: This series would introduce us to the Jackal Squad, a group of hired mercenaries considered the best in their country, having some of the craziest and most difficult missions, being led by who in the future would become Infinite. In the last chapter, called "Born of Infinite", the group assaults one of Eggman's bases in search of a reward for his technology. Although they were able to handle the first wave, the following waves ended up destroying the entire team, leaving only their leader, who tried to attack the scientist. However, he accidentally hit a mysterious pink stone that he had, which allowed him to learn his true personality, offering him to join his troops. Although his philosophy rejected this union, Infinite gladly accepted.
The series had decent reviews, with the best received theme being the group dynamic and how we are slowly shown the true nature of their boss until the end where he ends up allying himself with Eggman, giving indications that Freedom Fighters 2 was going to be inspired by Sonic Forces.
A global pandemic known as Covid-19 hit the world, leaving the entire population in quarantine. The big companies were in serious trouble, including Sega and Sony, who decided to delay the releases of the SEU and only launch the Black Arms series.
Black Arms Season 1 (Series, TV-MA, 2020) Director: Matt Reeves Cast: Sean Schemmel as Black Doom (main character) Izabela Vidovic as Maria Robotnik (main character) Bryan Cranston as Gerald Robotnik (main character) Henry Cavill as Shadow
Sinopsis: A group of aliens end up meeting a scientist, who was carrying out a very large experiment. Because they became attached to him, they ended up helping him, contributing a bit of their DNA to the creation of the "ultimate form of life."
Although the final result was very good, the first season received a lot of criticism, mainly because it was like the Shadow movie but from a different perspective.
Black Arms Season 2 (Series, TV-MA, 2021) Cast: Sean Schemmel as Black Doom (main character) Henry Cavill as Shadow Ben Affleck as The President
Sinopsis: Many years later, this alien civilization begins to plan an invasion of Earth, learning more about their world. Shortly after, they learn that the living being they supported in creating, now nicknamed Shadow, had awakened from its slumber with very vague memories. Taking advantage of this situation, in the end his king contacts him telepathically, promising that if he gathered the Chaos Emeralds and gave them to him he would explain many things to him, swearing that he participated in their creation. Shadow hesitates, but ends up accepting.
This second season was better received than the first, making it clear that Ultimate Form of Life 2 was going to adapt the video game Shadow the Hedgehog. At this time, fans began to theorize about which route they were going to take as a reference, but the most accepted theory was that they were going to take elements from all of them.
Ultimate Form of Life:Black Arms Invasion (R rated, 2021) Cast: Sean Schemmel as Black Doom (main character) Henry Cavill as Shadow
Infinite (R rated, 2021) Director: Sam Raimi Cast: Ben Mendelsohn as Infinite Mark Hamill as Eggman
Sinopsis: In this film, which would serve as a continuation of the Jackal Squad series, we would see the beginnings of the Eggman-Infinite alliance, in addition to learning more about what the Ruby Phantom would be. As it progresses, the two understand each other better until they become complete allies. In the post-credits scene, Infinite is in a capsule with his characteristic mask with Eggman looking at him, to which he says: "with every humiliation, every defeat by those furry beings, I acquired more knowledge. With all that knowledge, I am improving you to create the ultimate weapon of destruction."
Freedom Fighters:Resistance (R rated, 2022) Cast: Brenton Thwaites as Sonic Melissa Benoist as Sally Accorn Asher Angel as a young adult Tails Timothée Chalamet as Silver Idris Elba as Knuckles Bryn Apprill as Nicole the Holo-Lynx Erika McKitrick as Bunnie D' Coolette Henry Cavill as Shadow Dakota Fanning as Amy Rose Mark Hamill as Dr. Ivo Robotnik "Eggman" (antagonist) Ben Mendelsohn as Infinite the Jackal (antagonist)
Sinopsis: After learning to control it, Infinite begins to use the Phantom Ruby to create clones, expand Eggman's empire, and terrorize the world. After some attacks caused by this army of copies, Sonic tries to interfere to ease things a bit, but ends up being humiliated and captured. After this, the Freedom Fighters, with the inclusion of Bunnie, Shadow and Amy, come together to stop this threat that even the armies themselves are trying to end, while the blue hedgehog tries to escape from his prison. In the post-credits scene, the team is analyzing the Phantom Ruby after Infinite died, discovering that it had strange quantum properties, which allowed the user to teleport from one place to another. With this, it was hypothesized that, with sufficiently powerful energy, it could travel between universes.
This film exceeded the expectations that most had, fans began to say that "this is what Sonic Forces should have been like", grossing a little more than its predecessor. Because the post-credits scene talks about the possibility of a multiverse, it began to be rumored that phase 3 was going to deal with the issue of counterparts and alternate realities, that they were going to adapt Sonic Rush or at least bring in Blaze and that the The big event would be the fight between the Freedom Fighters and the Suppression Squad, finally being able to see Sonic and Scourge fight.
Suppression Squad: Ascension (R rated, 2022) DC equivalent: The Suicide Squad Director: James Gunn Max Mittelman as Scourge the Hedgehog Tom Kenny as Patch D' Collette Elizabeth Banks as Alicia Acorn Christopher Welch as Miles Prower Ashley Burch as Fiona Fox Mark Ballou as Boomer Walrus Mads Mikkelsen as Doctor Starline Margot Robbie as Surge the Tenec Teagan Croft as Kitsunami Jim Carrey as Dr. Kintobor (antagonist)
Sinopsis: Some time after Scourge escaped from prison for the second time, the team reforms again to try to overthrow Dr. Kintobor, this time being much more prepared, planning their attacks better and with new integrations. Doctor Starline: An anthropomorphic platypus and Dr. Kintobor's greatest enemy. In the past he used to be his admirer, however, as he grew up his ideals clashed more and more with that of the scientist, to the point where they became enemies. He is someone polite, gentle and complex, but also sinister, ruthless, cruel and showing contempt for weakness, just as the team needs, having great arrogance for his knowledge, as well as enviable willpower and drive. He has a great study on an object called Distortion Topaz, which supposedly can transport you to other places or even universes, however he still doesn't know how to use it or if it's even true. Surge: A tenec created by Dr. Starline in order to support Scourge, being programmed to love him for life, being his "replacement" while he was on the run and as its "complement". He remains unaware of his origin, believing that his creator only gave him his powers. She is very arrogant, proud, with an indomitable spirit and bad temperament, thinking little because she believes she can defeat anyone with brute force. His main power is to produce electricity (enough to cause a forest fire), super speed, the Spin Attack and its derivatives. She is madly in love with the sadistic green hedgehog, she is practically programmed for that. Kitsunami: Like her companion, she was created by Dr. Starline as his natural friend. She is usually polite, cold and not very individual. His self-esteem is very low, seeking the approval of others, but the nature of the team causes him to have various emotional crises. He has the power to control water. Rough: An aggressive, ruthless, cruel and violent expert mercenary humanoid skunk. He is a fierce, acrobatic and fast fighter. Tumble: Rough's brother, quite similar to him, apart from being very callous and not very intelligent. His abilities are similar to his brother's, only squared. They were both arrested for having whipped an entire town, and in prison they met Scourge, who took them with him on their successful escape.
Together, they will once again try to take down Dr. Ivo Robotnik and rule the world, like Jules used to do. In the end, they achieve their goal, making a public announcement throughout the world that a new regime had just begun. In the post-credits scene, we see how Dr. Starline is experimenting with the Distortion Topaz. After so many analyzes of its nature, he ended up discovering that this element has properties capable of connecting different worlds. After so many attempts, he manages to create for a few seconds a small portal in which he can see an opposite world, one that just by seeing it reflected the complete opposite of his own, giving way to the Freedom Fighters and the Supression Squad to confront each other some day.

One of the most eagerly awaited Indian movies of 2022 is "Adipurush," starring Prabhas (the "Baahubali" films). "Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior," which had Ajay Devgn in the lead role and grossed $50 million at the box office, was directed by Om Raut.
"Adipurush" is Raut's interpretation of the Indian legendary epic "Ramayana," which has been adapted multiple times for film and television in India, including a series that aired on the national broadcaster Doordarshan for a number of years.

The Prince of Light

The anime adaptation of the epic "The Prince of Light" by Japanese filmmaker Yugo Sako, which Raut saw at the Mumbai Film Festival in the early 2000s, is what gave rise to the idea for the movie.
"I was entranced. This is the right approach to tell the story—concise, it's accurate, and makes you cheer for Prabhu [Lord] Ram while at the same time being extremely kid-friendly and making you feel for the characters," said Raut to Variety.
The lessons and everything else were presented in a straightforward manner rather than being overly complicated, ordinary, boring, or monotonous.
The Japanese technology at the time captivated Raut, an engineering student. Raut questioned, "What are we doing? If these foreigners can come and convert our epic into such an interesting work.
We ought to do something along these lines, and I must tell the "Ramayana" in my own unique fashion.

Travel back to India

The concept developed over a few years as Raut attended Syracuse University to study cinema and television, worked at MTV in New York City till 2010, and made the decision to travel back to India in 2010.
https://preview.redd.it/u7mefffzz5m91.png?width=1200&format=png&auto=webp&s=babe02e5a0ed3da02208f7f82c8cfff372225050
After spending a few years learning the ins and outs of Indian filmmaking as the producer of "City of Gold" (2010) and "Haunted" (2011), Raut made the leap into directing with "Lokmanya: Ek Yugpurush" in 2015.

Biography of Bal Gangadhar Tilak

The movie is a biography of Bal Gangadhar Tilak, a well-known liberation fighter in India sometimes referred to as "Lokmanya" or "leader of the people."
I compared the society at the time with that of pre-independence India, and I came to the conclusion that Lokmanya Tilak was the person who truly believed in the country's youth.
He was a man who built the cornerstone of the independence movement for our nation on the strength of the young, according to Raut. The movie was a commercial success once it was released and was chosen for the International Film Festival of India in Goa.
Following that was the tale of another Indian hero, Tanaji Malusare, a general in Chhatrapati Shivaji's army who was instrumental in the 1600s conflict between the Maratha kingdom and the Mughal empire.
Zack Snyder's "300," which Raut witnessed in New York during his MTV days and had a "big influence" on him, served as the inspiration for the visual style of the movie. The script had been written in draught form before "Lokmanya," but for a debut film, the budget was enormous.
Following the success of "Lokmanya," Raut presented a new draught of the movie "Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior" to prominent Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn, who was so taken with the subject that he decided to not only feature in it but also produce it with Indian studio T-Series.
https://preview.redd.it/bwpnaob306m91.png?width=960&format=png&auto=webp&s=6074e10c235a8cfdbf23659b030c96d5dcdf968a
In the movie "Tanhaji," which was released in January 2020, Saif Ali Khan, who portrays a general working for the Mughals, competes against Ajay Devgn's character.
By March 2020, India had experienced its first COVID-19 shutdown, and Raut used the occasion to rethink and rewrite "Adipurush," his "Ramayana"-based script, in under 45 days.
The only actor Raut had in mind to portray the lead was Prabhas, an actor he hardly knew at the time, and his crew was thrilled with the outcome.
After listening to three scene descriptions over the phone from Raut, Prabhas informed the director that it would be best to continue the conversation in person. Raut spent a few hours travelling from Mumbai to Hyderabad on a borrowed private plane.
Prabhas agreed, T-Series re-joined, and "Adipurush" began.

Budget of around

Despite the lack of official data, industry sources tell Variety that "Adipurush" has a budget of around INR4 billion ($54 million), making it one of the most expensively made movies in the nation. Despite being pricey by Indian standards,
Raut claims that the movie is not expensive by international standards because it makes extensive use of cutting-edge technology that is employed in many movies all over the world.
Rama, the king of Ayodhya, journeys to Lanka in Valmiki's "Ramayana" to save his wife Sita, who has been kidnapped by Ravana, the king.
https://preview.redd.it/dxb48lq506m91.png?width=1200&format=png&auto=webp&s=db47c1aba71e0d6ddf133ec7006a4e5f44c40e4e

Storytelling techniques yet is set 7000 years

According to Raut, "Adipurush" uses contemporary storytelling techniques yet is set 7000 years in the past and has all the same "touch points" as the "Ramayana." In the movie, Raghav, another name for Rama, is used to refer to Prabhas' character instead of Rama.
Both Kriti Sanon's Sita and Saif Ali Khan's Ravana have names derived from the "Ramayana," Janaki for Sita and Lankesh for Ravana. Adipurush literally translates to "first man," but in this context, "best man" is used instead.
According to Raut, calling the main character Rama instantly makes him appear to be heavenly in the audience's perspective, however calling him Raghav makes him seem more relatable and human.
Rama is frequently preceded by "Maryada Purushottam," where "Supreme Being" is the meaning of the latter word. Raut desires that his audience adopt the "Maryada" mindset.
The term "Maryada" refers to upholding one's moral standards all throughout one's life, according to Raut.
The Hindi and Telugu movie "Adipurush," which will also be released in dubbed Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada versions, is scheduled for a theatrical release in the second half of 2022.
