THUNK!!
I slammed both of my fists hard against the barrier.
THUNK!!
Its surface remained unyielding, unshaking, completely still and deaf to my plight.
THUNK!!
My mind struggled against the panic that ate and nibbled away at the corners of my consciousness.
THUNK!!
My eyes darted back and forth across the entirety of the surface of the pool, all in a desperate attempt at finding any signs of weakness, any signs of vulnerability within this gods-forsaken spell.
Any signs of a potential way out.
THUNK!!
My muscles began to ache.
THUNK!!
My lungs began to burn.
THUNK!!
My hands scrambled across the smooth and tantalizing fragile underside of the barrier. Those fists continued their relentless assault against the offending obstacle.
THUNK!!
Until finally, it clicked.
As in a moment of unexpected clarity, I saw it — waves.
My struggles had managed to cause the formerly calm and still waters to slosh around just enough for waves to form on the surface.
That was when it dawned on me.
The barrier wasn’t flush against the surface of the pool.
It couldn’t be, if that much water was allowed to slosh beneath its unyielding blockade.
Which meant there was an air pocket, or at least, small instances of them between the sloshing of large enough waves.
And so I forced myself up, kicking my legs calmly, just enough to keep me afloat, before poking my nose through what was effectively barely an inch of headroom between the barrier and the water.
I inhaled a massive lungful of air, through a waterlogged nose, and in a space just barely enough for me to do so.
Which was a struggle, both physically, and mentally.
As it took every ounce of my mental fortitude, my training, my forced calmness not to gasp for air with my mouth.
That would’ve spelled assured death.
Those lungfuls of air, and a newly clarified mind, was enough for me to notice one of two things.
One, being the finer details within the manastreams, and several inlets and outflows of those streams I could use to my advantage.
The assailant in question was good, but still a novice at keeping his spell integrity clean.
Two, being the nature of the assailant themselves.
Or rather, himself.
As I could just about make out the outlines, and then the full form in vivid detail, of the perpetrator in question.
A steely gaze and a barely restrained snarl were my instinctive reactions to the cocksure bull. These pointed reactions were met with a despicable grin, but without the manafield inflexions I would’ve expected of him.
Another stone in the current of mana seemed to pull the bull from his gloating however, as I felt the distinct presence of someone else arriving on scene.
The arrival of this interloper seemed to stir a look of annoyance on the bull’s features, as he gave me one final snarl, and an uncharacteristic glare of worry, before leaving to deal with the newcomer to the scene; removing himself from my line of sight and towards the new arrival.
But I could care less about that right now, as my mind switched to focusing on that first point, prompting me to take another, final, lungful of air, before submerging and darting across to the other side of the pool.
This was where the spell’s weakest point was.
And this was where I’d make my final gambit.
I dove back down, against my instincts, to the deepest section of the pool.
Then, I closed my eyes, focusing on siphoning the rich and latent streams around me.
Before finally—
Whiiiiirrrrrrr… KA-CRACK!!!
—Unleashing it all in a concentrated beam of mana. A feat that would’ve been utterly blinding to the manasenses, that shattered the invisible barrier that kept me prisoner, and that resulted in the water itself to shoot out in a massive jet of highly-compressed streams that chipped and cracked the fresco lining the dome above me.
This massive glut of water quickly came crashing down almost immediately after, utterly crushing the seats closest to that side of the pool, flattening it under its weight and eviscerating it as a result of the haphazard magical after effects that came naturally as a result of this barely-regulated channel-then-release form of brute-force magic.
A magic that would’ve probably barely made a dent on the same barrier back at home.
But that here? In the Nexus?
Was practically supercharged.
I found myself standing at the bottom of the pool now.
Not because of any intent to remain underwater.
But simply because there was no water to be had at the bottom at this point.
As almost every last drop was now scattered across the gymnasium and perhaps even down the hallway given the sheer volume that’d been displaced.
Everything in my body told me to lay down and rest, as my chest heaved, hungrily taking in the fresh air around me.
My instincts screamed at me to stop, especially after an entire workout, a near-drowning, and what amounted to the casting of a powerful spell.
But I didn’t.
What fueled me now was a newfound rage that caused me to not only stand there in defiance, but that also compelled me to take the next appropriate step.
Counterattacking, and dealing with the assailant.
Without warning, and without any hint of intent, I crouched… then leaped out of the twenty foot swimming pool, crossing my right arm across my chest and calling upon my dagger in one fell swoop, before landing well past the lip of the pool with my blade fully drawn into that of a greatsword.
It was there, with the blood of battle coursing through my veins, and the breath of rage wailing against my lungs, that I was met with the bull; who was standing cowardly down the hall, poised to leave.
We locked eyes once more.
This time, on completely different playing fields.
No longer did he maintain that look of unbridled cockiness, or a sense of superiority.
Instead, there was fear within those eyes.
And a manafield that felt clouded and shrouded, as if he was hiding and masking those feelings beneath that layered shell.
A second passed.
Then, I ran.
Four different spells were cast in rapid succession.
The first, was an enhancement to my speed.
The second, was an enhancement to my grip.
The third, was an enhancement to my agility.
And the fourth, was the most visible.
An enhancement to my blade, as it burst into flames just before I struck the bull’s side…
Only for it to be met with a resounding — CLANG!! — as the bull seemed to summon some form of armor throughout his entire form.
But that didn’t deter me.
In fact, the defensive posture, and the fear in his eyes was the panacea to the humiliation incurred upon me.
In short, it only fanned the flames of my response.
As I began striking harder, faster, and bolder.
CLASH!
Again.
CLANK!
And again.
CLANG!
And again.
Until finally…
CRRSHHHH!
The curved manasteel of his breastplate gave way to a hard bash from my pommel, forcing the bull back, where he staggered and heaved.
We both stood there now, tired and breathless.
The fuel that was rage started to wane somewhat.
But it was clear in spite of that, the blow I landed on the beast was significant enough to leave him still on the defensive; something that surprised yet irked me to no end.
“Well?!” I shouted at the top of my lungs. “ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED, RUNT?!” I yelled even louder, my voice resonated deep with its enhancement via latent mana.
The bull didn’t reply, not even with some empty platitudes of peace or a denial of the whole situation.
In fact, all he did was to begin channeling even more mana, moving into a fighting stance befitting of his superior size, but not so much to his species’ natural advantage.
“Let’s finish this like men, you petulant beast!” I all but snarled out, keeping my sword trained, and my posture ready.
Ping made the first move.
But that move wasn’t all what I’d expected.
As a sharp disruption in the manafield caused both my manasight and my eyes to become blinded by a headache-inducing light, and a loud high-pitched nausea-inducing sound.
This took me completely off-guard, prompting me to swing wildly towards the offending party—
Only for that strike to simply bounce off of the wall behind him with a resonant CLANG!
It took a few more moments for my senses to fully recover, and by the time it did, I was left with nothing.
Nothing but a door that had been left hastily ajar, and what appeared to be bootprints that ran through and down the hall towards the main stairwell.
The dishonorable thing had escaped.
I couldn’t help but to feel conflicted following that, as my sword continued to remain raised, and my body poised for another attack.
It was the battle-blood that still ran through me, that refused to let me rest.
In fact, the sudden and abrupt end to the battle had more or less exacerbated this feeling of restlessness.
As it was one thing to have an enemy die or surrender… it was another thing entirely to have them retreat; even if there was an assurance of victory.
Because there was a sense of assurance when it came to death or surrender. You knew for a fact that the enemy had been properly dealt with.
Dead or in chains, there was peace with knowing they were neutralized.
Retreat, and a successful one at that, left me uneasy and tense with worry.
It was a feeling that was… difficult to truly work through.
And it was a feeling that had in many instances left me feeling hollow.
Still, it was a feeling that my father had oftentimes helped to frame as one thing only — dishonor.
And the shame that would come from that, would hurt more than the most chronic of injuries, or the most disastrous of wounds.
For dishonor, and cowardly dishonor at that, was the heart-maimer.
It might start small, but eventually, any warrior worth their name will succumb to its effects.
Auris Ping might’ve gotten away with a few superficial injuries. But it’s the injury of his actions that will eat at him from this point onwards.
At least, that was what I was attempting to placate myself with as I moved to lower my sword, before transforming it back into its resting dagger-sized state.
It was around this time, as the battle-blood induced vitriol was cresting its peak, and as my body began to step down from that heightened battle-ready state, that I finally took note of a series of noises from within the gymnasium proper.
It was almost assuredly from the unknown interloper, who I’d myopically overlooked as a result of the rage-fueled retribution.
So without sheathing my blade, I began walking down the hallway towards the now-soaked room that was the gymnasium; towards what appeared to be another student and one that took me only a few seconds to recognize.
It was one of Qiv Ratom’s peers.
The small rodent-like creature struggled to stand on both of his legs, as if still dazed and recovering from the massive downpour of water, or perhaps some other injury if that bruised arm was anything to go by.
“Prince Havenbrock?” The small, hamster-like thing, barely half a head taller than Ilunor, spoke with a polite, cordial, and strangely affable tone of voice. One that was at complete odds with the usual terseness of most of the student body upon encountering me on a good day. Which was nothing to say of me in my battle-ready state. “A-are… are you quite alright?” He continued, the nervousness was palpable not just through his tone of voice, but by the obvious stressors in his manafield, and the smell of anxiety that was difficult to control to anyone not of lupinor heritage. “Do you require any healing assistance?” He quickly added with a sense of concern. Whether it was genuine or not, was anyone’s guess at this point.
“I’m alright.” I managed out, or rather, huffed out in a fit of exhaustion. “I appreciate the offer though, Prince…” I paused, realizing now that outside of Qiv and Airit, the two others in their peer group were practically enigmas to me. I blamed this not on myself or my reluctance to associate with the rest of the student body, but on the circumstances that prevented our group from truly integrating into the year group proper. “I am afraid I haven’t quite caught your name yet.” I admitted politely; desperately trying to claw myself back to civility.
“Ah! That’s quite alright! It’s certainly more than justifiable given…” The orange and white-furred being paused, gesturing around him. “...the recent circumstances. It would be entirely unfair of me to expect you to remember my name when we haven’t even been properly introduced, my dear fellow!”
It was around this point that the strangely dressed prince took a deep bow, almost befitting of Ilunor’s more theatrical tendencies.
“I am Prince Rostario Rostarion the XXI, son of His Benevolence King Rostario Rostarion the XX, Herald of the Nine Rivers, Beholder of the Writ of Transitions, and tenth in line for the throne of the Crita.” He spoke in an almost whimsical manner, straddling the line between the overzealousness of Ilunor’s propensity for noble norms, and a more idealistic interpretation of Expectant Decorum.
“A pleasure to make your acquaintance at last, Prince Rostario Rostarion the XXI.” I spoke politely, matching the Crita’s bow, and holding it for just as long. “I just wished it had been under more… auspicious circumstances.”
“Oh nonsense! As we say in our realm, any day we meet a friend is a good day!” He beamed out, maintaining that smile throughout it all. “As a matter of fact, I doubt there’s ever such a thing as an unfavorable day to meet a friend. Which, once again, given recent happenings, may be as much a matter of courtesy as it is a matter of practicality.” Those latter words set off a few alarm bells in my head, which prompted me to address him now with less pleasantries and more in the way of practical matters.
“If I may ask, Prince Rostarion… what exactly are you doing here?”
The small thing blinked rapidly at that question. “Well, to be entirely honest Prince Havenbrock, I was here for perhaps the exact same reasons you were here.”
I looked the rodent-like prince up and down, noting his… less than typical attire, one that most certainly did not forego typical Nexian sensibilities as my own outfit had done, but that was definitely not your typical dinner attire.
“I mean no disrespect when I ask you this, Prince Rostarion, but would you genuinely have me believe that you were here to utilize the gymnasium’s facilities?”
“That is exactly what I am implying, Prince Havenbrock.” The little thing nodded with a smile. “However, I wasn’t necessarily intending to utilize it in the manner in which you perhaps assume.” He finished that sentence off by gesturing to a pile of now-ruined flotation artifices of some rubbery consistency. One resembling a round pastry, one resembling an ottoman, and another being a container that he quickly opened to reveal a deluge of snacks and beverages. “I was intending on using the pool for aquatic therapy, if you understand my meaning.”
There was a pause as I needed a moment to connect the dots.
“So, you were here, to simply lounge atop of the pool.” I concluded.
“A bit eccentric and skirting the line of expectant decorum, but it is one of my lesser known pastimes, yes.” The prince admitted with what I could only describe as an open look of abashment, one that when paired with his puffy fur, and harmless disposition, put me in mind of what Emma must have seen and felt with the foxes of the library.
“Of course.” I acknowledged with a nod. “And I am assuming that this pastime of yours was rudely interrupted when you arrived and encountered-”
“That vile bull?” The Crita’s features scrunched up, yet not once did I feel an ounce of threatening posture from the small creature, as even that attempt at a scowl looked more like a pup attempting to emulate a snarl. “I had arrived just as he seemed to be busy casting some sort of a barrier spell above the pool. At first, I assumed this to be a sort of jab at my character, and so I confronted him about the indirect assault on my leisurely intent. However, no sooner did I realize the severity of the situation, did the bull push me to the wayside, right before you managed to break free of your undue entombment, or thereabouts.” The little thing paused, before shaking his ‘head’ from side to side. A remarkable feat, for it was difficult to tell where his head started and where his body ended given the puffy fur that ensconced him in an almost spherical shape. “A truly sordid affair if I do say so myself, Prince Havenbrock.” He continued, meeting my gaze with that of a friendly, empathetic stranger. “In any case, I wouldn’t want to keep you here for much longer than necessary. This turn of events has been tiring enough for the both of us.”
“Indeed, this truly was unexpected, to say the least.” I responded plainly, lacking the energy to really engage with any of this more than I could at this point.
Not a moment later did two disruptions in the manastream occur simultaneously, as it seemed as if we both had the same idea of quickly switching from our leisurely attire back into our regular clothes.
“I do hope you weren’t hurt by the bull though.” I quickly added, my more courteous and civilized sensibilities returning to me now that the blood of battle had subsided from my veins.
“Oh, the vile thing merely pushed me. A truly despicable act of brutish savagery befitting of the common beast, but nothing that could hold a candle to the transgressions imposed upon you today, Prince Havenbrock.” The Crita replied politely, as we began making our way out and through the gymnasium’s long corridor, and back towards the castle’s winding pathways. “In any case, it is… comforting in a sense, Prince Thalmin — to have someone civilized to talk to following those brutish acts.”
“You flatter me, Prince Rostarion.” I replied reflexively.
“To be quite frank, I did have my reservations on the content of your character prior to this meeting. However, upon finally being acquainted, I can see now that those reservations were entirely baseless. It is clear that in this game of appearances, that the strong and self righteous can oftentimes overrule those who are genuine of heart. Today’s events have, in a sense, served as an unwelcome but necessary wakeup call, one that validates my fears over Lord Ping, and invalidates my concerns over your character, Prince Havenbrock.”
“And what might those concerns over Lord Ping be?” I replied curtly, deciding to go along with his narrative, if only to hear him out.
“That Auris Ping may not be averse to brutish acts of subterfuge to undermine the peer groups he deems to be a threat to his ambitions. It’s quite obvious to me the reasons why he went after you of all people.” The little thing paused, as if giving me a window to reply.
Which I did.
“Go on?”
“Your newrealmer’s little stunt on the last emergency assembly, Prince Havenbrock. The man was humiliated in front of the entire year group as a result. The newrealmer has essentially made an enemy out of him from there on out. There’s now, effectively, a target painted on each and every one of your peer group’s backs.” Rostario cautioned, prompting me to narrow my gaze on the otherwise harmless-looking hamster.
“I thank you for sharing your observations with me, Prince Rostarion… but please, what point do you wish to make here?”
“The matter I wish to address, Prince Thalmin, is that the man has elevated himself from a nuisance to a palpable danger. And if he’s willing to go to these lengths to correct for past slights, there’s no telling what may happen as we push forwards through the year, especially following the house choosing ceremony coming up this weekend.” The little thing reasoned, before shifting his gaze to a more thoughtful and empathetic one. “Seeing as my group has consistently occupied the top three positions in terms of points so far, it stands to reason that the bull’s ire will soon be drawn to us. And whilst Lord Qiv Ratom is indeed a wise and capable leader, he is only one man, with three other peers to work with.”
“You’re proposing an alliance, then?” I cut through the fat of the hamster’s reply, prompting the man to, thankfully, nod in acknowledgement with no further pleasantries involved.
“I wouldn’t be so brazen as to call it an alliance outright, Prince Havenbrock. I moreso wish to make it clear that my own group harbors no ill sentiments towards your own, and will continue to do so, if only to ensure that we may at least live in peace whilst at war against this brutish menace. Alliances, and future agreements, can come later. Right now, I only wish to extend a hand of goodwill, nothing less.”
It was around that point that we both paused at the foot of a set of stairs, marking the junction in which we needed to part ways.
“I will… consider it, Prince Rostarion. If Auris Ping continues to play the role of a nuisance, and a dangerous one at that, it would be in the best interests of both of our two groups to maintain a working peace. Regardless, I sincerely hope the man does not prove to be a menace to you, as he was to me.”
“I appreciate the kind sentiments, Prince Havenbrock.” He nodded, right before we parted ways.

Thalmin
I arrived at an eerily dead dormitory once more, the lights within the public spaces acknowledging my presence with a tastefully choreographed glow.
I hesitated for a moment as I walked past Emma and Thacea’s room, considering whether or not the matter of Ping should be best reserved for the morning, or if it was prudent to address it now.
This hesitation lasted a few moments, before I started noticing a distinct string of conversations from within, answering my concerns of whether the pair were still awake.
“Sorry for saying this Thacea, and I’m not implying that you are but… could you be careful with your talons. I’m afraid it’ll-”
“I assure you, Emma. Your instructions were extensive and your demonstrations were in-depth enough for me to handle this aspect of the operation.”
I took that opportunity to knock on the door, leading to a series of hurried footsteps towards it. And as the door opened, I noted a distinct lack of Emma, prompting me to put two and two together. “I apologize if I’m interrupting anything.” I announced. “I’m assuming you two are in the middle of your em-redd experiments?”
“That is correct, Thalmin.” Thacea nodded.
“Ah, well, maybe we can talk about this another time-”
“No, no. If there’s something urgent, it is best to state it outright.”
I let out another sigh, before I leveled my eyes once more, preparing for the long winded explanation ahead.

Twenty-five Minutes Later

The reactions from Thacea, and even Ilunor, were practically about what I expected. With a measured and appropriately sympathetic look of concern from the former, and a somewhat amused yet annoyed look of acknowledgement from the latter.
It was Emma however, who’d exited the tent moments after I arrived, that truly gave me pause for thought.
It was, naturally, difficult if not impossible to read the earthrealmer’s reactions. Her armor served as a barrier not only for the features most readily readable to the average observer, but also to the most seasoned of conversationalists, as everything from her facial features through to her nonexistent manafield were blocked.
The only thing that anyone could truly work off of, was her speaking mannerisms, and what feeble attempts at exaggerated body language she could muster through sheer will and determination; and even those were encumbered.
Yet despite that, and all the encumbrances involved, I could feel the palpable shock and outright rage that seethed within her. As I could only imagine the features of a lupinor with little to no reservations on maintaining the guise of civility, snarling beneath that helmet of hers.
“Thalmin.” Emma continued, restructuring her response, in a tone of voice that struck a certain chord within me. “Let me ask you this again. Did he hurt you?”
“I am unharmed, Emma.” I responded immediately.
“Good.” The armored earthrealmer responded compassionately, before effortlessly returning to that seething and outraged persona. “Because if that walking prime rib dinner had done anything…” She paused, as if taking the time to ponder all the possible means of violence at her disposal…
But instead of saying anything outright, she instead remained silent.
That silence, and a lack of any definitive threat, spoke louder than any descriptive rant ever could.
Moreover, the sheer emotion behind her voice prior to that ominous silence was enough to compensate for all of her armor’s encumberances, and then some. A fact that resonated deeply with the lupinor within me.
As unlike the Nexian propensity for layering intent beneath decorum, Emma seemed poised to simply make herself known when she needed to.
“I… appreciate those sentiments, Emma.” I acknowledged with a deep nod. “But I believe the fact I managed to defeat him in combat, or at least, prompted him to flee like a complete coward; is proof enough I can handle myself. Though… I am certainly not averse to a brother or sister in arms to join in the fray.”
This seemed to lighten Emma’s spirits somewhat, as she placed a hand on my shoulder, shaking it about.
“This begs the question…” Thacea finally interjected, after a few moments of deep and serious thought. “What could be Ping’s true gambit here?”
“To posture and potentially send a message? Like a thug or a bully I guess?” Emma offered.
“The fact remains we don’t necessarily know how far he would’ve taken this, a fact which would very much define, or redefine the intent behind this attack.” Thacea countered, prompting me to reply in no uncertain terms.
“Believe me, Thacea. If you were there, you’d know he was serious in his intent.”
“I do not discount the traumatizing events, Thalmin. I… simply wish to ascertain just what his angle is. Because from my vantage point, this attack seems brazenly-”
“-idiotic.” Ilunor chimed in.
Prompting the avinor princess to simply dip her head in acknowledgement. “-foolish, but that is likewise an appropriate descriptor.”
“Maybe he is just that dumb?” Emma offered up once more. “He’s hot-headed, and clearly angry from the whole library card incident. So maybe just like any other hot-headed bully, he’s going after the ones he thinks he can handle, alone, and without backup.”
“I could see that.” I acknowledged.
“The simplest answers are sometimes the ones that turn out to be true.” Thacea acknowledged. “However, given the complexities of the Nexus, we shouldn’t discount more elaborate possibilities.”
“Mal’tory.” Ilunor suddenly blurted out darkly. “It’s his class tomorrow, isn’t it? And the Academy isn’t suspending his classes either. Now, this may seem improbable, if not outright impossible… but I believe the lack of any changes to the academic roster means that whatever damage you inflicted on him, Emma… could not have been enough to kill him outright; at least not permanently. Which means that maybe, just maybe, he recovered sometime today, and has recruited Auris to his own aims.”
That theory hit me hard, prompting me to turn towards Emma with a worried expression. The silence from the otherwise chatty earthrealmer was enough to clue me in to her state of mind. And the anxiety welling within her, especially when it came to what was up ahead tomorrow.
“That’s a possibility.” Thacea acknowledged. “Perhaps, in light of you becoming an intrinsic aspect of the library’s games, Ilunor — you’ve effectively become immune to the man’s machinations. Thus, Mal’tory is now looking to target either me or Thalmin, in order to replace us with a more pliant student.”
“We won’t know anything, nor can we come to any conclusions.” Emma finally interjected. “But there’s only one way to be sure, and only one way we can rule that possibility out.” The earthrealmer paused for a moment, making an attempt to crane her head to meet each of our gazes. “We need to resume the library’s mission as soon as we can, and we’ll start by infiltrating his office.”
After we assess the situation in tomorrow’s classes.” Thacea urged. “We will see, definitively then, the state of the man, and from there — we continue our quest against the black robed professor.”

(Author’s Note: Thalmin manages to escape from the clutches of this vile attack and we are introduced to a character that's only been touched upon once during the introduction of Qiv's group all the way back in the early chapters! :D Rostario Rostarion the XXI is certainly quite a character, and he's definitely going to be playing more of a role as things progress! I'm opening up the roster of characters of the other main peer groups we're dealing with, and I think this is the first of Qiv's group we're finally seeing expanded upon! Beyond that, we also get to see how Thacea's helping with the MREDD experiments, helping to slot foods into the MREDD on her side of the tent while Emma stays inside monitoring things! And of course, we get to see how this might all tie back to our favorite black robed professor, whose classes are due to be taught on the next school day! I hope you guys enjoy! :D The next Two Chapters are already up on Patreon if you guys are interested in getting early access to future chapters!)

2024.04.26 23:08 Nickstew9393 Worlds Best Magnesium: Bicarbonate

Introduction:
Magnesium Bicarbonate is a complex hydrated salt only found in liquid form. Magnesium Bicarbonate is not found in any foods. In fact, it is impossible to acquire magnesium bicarbonate by eating food. Bicarbonate salts are composed of bicarbonate ions (HCO3) paired with magnesium, sodium, potassium and calcium hydroxides. So technically speaking, in nature, we would have never encountered magnesium citrate, oxide, carbonate, glutamate, threonate, orotate, lactate, glycinate, malate, taurate or any amino acid chelated form of magnesium. So wouldn’t you want to consume the most natural form of magnesium?
Life Expectancy increased by 30 to 50% after drinking Magnesium Bicarbonate water. That was the first clue noticed by Dr Russell Beckett after he observed this phenomenon in a herd of cows that magbicarb water had a hidden power. After many years of amazing results and now studies to back up his initial excitement it seems he was on to something truly amazing.
Dr Mark Sircus calls magnesium Bicarbonate water the holy grail of natural medicine. Many people are already aware of the benefits of Magnesium and Bicarbonate but the power comes in the synergy of the two together. It turns out the body treats magnesium and bicarbonate very differently if they come in this form rather than for example taking Magnesium chloride and sodium Bicarbonate at the same time and this difference is the secret of its power. In the words of Dr. James Pierce, Ph.D., author of Your Nutritional Key to Cardiovascular Wellness, “Up to 50% of sudden heart attacks may be due to magnesium deficiency.”
What’s more, according to Dr. Andrea Rosanoff, M.D., Ph.D., co-author of the Magnesium Factor, “Once magnesium falls below a certain level, just about everything goes…” The cell is not able to have a fully integrated membrane system. It just starts to get weaker and weaker. It simply does not have sufficient energy present to do all the things it needs to do. Magnesium literally helps your body create energy from food, manufactures new proteins from amino acids, and builds and repairs DNA and RNA. Dr. Zhang states that, ‘Supplement forms could just have different effects than the natural form. In food, the body can regulate and limit the absorption of nutrients. In supplements, the body doesn’t have the same regulatory impact.’ This is why opting for the most natural form of magnesium is critical if you want to actually utilize the most important mineral on the planet.
Benefits:
  1. Fight Osteoporosis
  2. Prevent cardiovascular disease
  3. Regulate blood pressure (hypertension)
  4. Treat Diabetes
  5. Relieve chronic stress, insomnia, migraines, & depression
  6. Maintain Healthy Kidney Function
  7. Glutathione Production
  8. Anti-Aging + Energy/Power Production
  9. Treat Nerve & Back Pain
  10. And much, much more…
Absorption:
Magnesium itself is actually fairly difficult to absorb in the body unless it is initially attached to a transporting substance, i.e., a bicarbonate ion suspended in water. Magnesium Bicarbonate is the most bioavailable form of magnesium on the planet; some estimate it to be around 80-90% absorbable. Commercial forms of Magnesium have extremely low absorption rates, and come along with negative side effects, like Magnesium Citrate interfering with copper absorption, which will throw Iron levels out of whack, or Mag Oxide pills containing all sorts of filler and excipients. Not a good idea, and not a wise use of money, there are better forms of every type of magnesium, but still none of them compare to the natural purity, absorbability, and power of magnesium bicarbonate, let alone the benefits that bicarbonate salts present themselves, which we will discuss.
Our Magnesium delivers a high concentration of bioavailable magnesium and bicarbonate salts, yet it is still much easier on the digestion than most other forms of magnesium. Some people work their way up to very high levels of intake with it, which is not recommended for everyone, but this high dosage of magnesium is not even remotely achievable with most other forms of magnesium on the market.
There used to be magnesium bicarbonate in natural water sources like springs, from the runoff of the mineral rock Brucite (from which Magnesium Hydroxide is derived) in reaction with environmental CO2, but due to industrial pollution, acid rain, and recycled water systems, we don't have these bicarbonate salts present in our water supply much, if at all anymore. It's also easier to confirm the purity of the magnesium hydroxide, (ours being pharmaceutical grade and derived from the dead sea) which is used to make magnesium bicarbonate rather than with the ingredients typically used in the majority magnesium capsules. Most of the companies making magnesium capsules buy their magnesium from third parties, which contain low grade fillers and excipients, which can be very misleading.
Performance:
The good news is Mitigate Stress makes the world’s best, high dosage Magnesium Bicarbonate Formula with beneficial cofactors such as potassium and sodium bicarbonate within their ideal ratios through a multi-stage, slow-drip process to supply the most complete, fully converted and bioavailable magnesium/electrolyte solution. It’s not just a magnesium supplement, it’s the world’s best recovery & performance formula. Morley Robbins states that Magnesium is involved in over 42% (3700+) of our body’s enzymatic reactions, which affect nearly all aspects of life. In order to produce ATP (The body’s dominant energy currency) we need magnesium. Magnesium is also needed for optimal estrogen detoxification.
Nowadays everyone is always talking about glutathione being the most important antioxidant, yet glutathione can’t even be produced by our body without enough magnesium being present. Magnesium is the Master Mineral, virtually all processes that occur in the body require magnesium. Magnesium is the fourth most abundant mineral in the human body. Magnesium relaxes our muscles whereas calcium contracts (the heart is a muscle). 60% is stored in our bones, 25% is stored in our muscles, the rest being stored in our soft tissues, bodily fluids, and only 1% being found in the blood, which makes it very difficult to test for magnesium. Most forms of magnesium only raise our blood serum, this is a problem because a person could be 99% or so deficient in magnesium (dangerously low levels) and a basic blood test could still showcase one’s levels within range. This is why we recommend opting for an RBC test at the very minimum. Our magnesium doesn’t just raise blood serum levels, but it also delivers deeper into the red blood cell more than any other form of magnesium. It is able to do that thanks to the miraculous bicarbonate ion, when combined with magnesium it shuttles
It’s not just about Magnesium, but Bicarbonates…
The use of bicarbonates is not new. What is new is the use of magnesium bicarbonate in water to enhance bicarbonate reserves, to stabilize the structure of the water, AND to supply much needed magnesium in a biologically available form.
Bicarbonates are the primary transporters of oxygen in the body and are used to buffer acidity, while magnesium is known as the master mineral because it is vital for bodily functions, yet is deficient in most people. Usually magnesium or bicarbonates come attached to something your body doesn’t need, like sodium bicarbonate, which comes with sodium and most of us all have heard of the amazing benefits of sodium bicarbonate (reducing lactic acid, recovery time, improving oxygen flow).
The presence of bicarbonate ions aids in the transportation of magnesium across cell membranes, ensuring efficient dissolution and subsequent absorption within the gastrointestinal tract. In the stomach, bicarbonate ions pass almost immediately into the bloodstream in exchange for chloride ions to make hydrochloric acid (HCl). Although it sounds counter-intuitive, drinking bicarbonate water on an empty stomach actually stimulates the production of stomach acid (HCl). It is an ideal drink first thing in the morning and before meals—as long as adequate time passes before the consumption of food. Bicarbonate water actually prepares the stomach for digestion and helps to overcome the waning production of HCl that plagues older individuals.
The composition of seawater is very similar to the fluids in the human body. It is also buffered with bicarbonates and capable of neutralizing an enormous amount of acidic waste. Under ideal conditions in the human body, there is much more bicarbonate than carbonic acid (the ratio is approximately 20:1). This is perfect for organisms that produce acidic metabolic waste. However under stress, bicarbonates become a limiting factor. Diet, pollution, exercise, and age all draw on bicarbonate reserves and limit the body’s capacity to neutralize and eliminate acids.
Magnesium Bicarbonate is unique in that both minerals are desperately needed by the body but rarely found together in nature except in some mountain spring water. Everyone talks about Alkaline water —including alkaline ionized water, but it is very different from water that has an alkaline pH due to the presence of bicarbonates. Alkaline ions affect the pH of water but they cannot neutralize acids. (Read the article on alkaline water.) Most alkaline water products have few bicarbonates, little buffering capacity and almost no ability to neutralize acidic waste. On the other hand, bicarbonate water is mildly alkaline yet it has the ability to neutralize and buffer acids, and decalcify our tissues. The use of bicarbonates is not new. What is new is the use of magnesium bicarbonate in water to enhance bicarbonate reserves, to stabilize the structure of the water, AND to supply much needed magnesium in a biologically available form.
Some common symptoms of magnesium deficiency are:
Loss of appetite Headaches Nausea & Vomiting Fatigue & Weakness Muscle Spasms Insomnia Hyperactivity Tingling or numbness in the hands or feet Shaking Abnormal Heart Rhythms And surprisingly many more…

2024.04.26 09:15 Sarvowater Wastewater Treatment Methods: A Complete Overview

Explore the wastewater treatment methods, from physical and mechanical to biological and chemical processes, ensuring environmental sustainability.

Wastewater Treatment Methods

There are four different wastewater treatment methods, each with a unique treatment process. However, examination and evaluation should come first in any medical procedure. Below are explained four specific industrial water treatment technologies:

1. Physical Technologies for Waste Water Treatment

Using physical techniques to purify wastewater is known as physical water treatment. This technology uses screening, skimming, and sedimentation to remove particles from wastewater. There is no use of chemicals at all in this technique. Among the methods adopted by this approach are:
Sedimentation
The process of treating waste water by collecting and separating heavy or insoluble particles from the wastewater is called sedimentation. When an insoluble substance sinks to the bottom of water, the water and the insoluble substance separate.
Aeration
In this process, oxygen is added to the wastewater through air circulation. There are several methods of adding air or oxygen to sewage, such as spraying, diffusion, and surface aeration. Once oxygen comes in contact with water, the aeration process begins immediately.

2. Mechanical techniques for treating wastewater

One of the traditional methods of treating wastewater is mechanical filtration, which can be accomplished in one of two ways:
Ceramic Membrane Technology
One of the traditional methods of treating wastewater is mechanical filtration, which can be accomplished in one of two ways:
Ceramic Membrane Technology
Using ceramic membranes installed in residences to filter wastewater is known as ceramic membrane filtration. When the wastewater begins to pass through the membranes, the filtration process will begin. The pressure required to pass water through the ceramic membrane is supplied by a feed pump.
Sand Filter Technology
More than 200 years have passed since the invention of this technology. It is more useful in situations where fluids are pushed downwards by pressure or gravity. The potential of this technology for inadequate disinfection is one of its shortcomings. A large quantity of special-grade sand is kept in a large tank as a sand filter.

3. Biological Method of Wastewater Treatment

It is wastewater treatment using biological processes. Organic substances found in wastewater, such as food, soap, oil, and human waste, are broken down at this point. The biological process wastewater treatment method includes three categories:
Aerobic Process
Here, microorganisms break down organic matter in the wastewater to produce carbon dioxide. Breaking down organic matter in wastewater requires aerobic microorganisms (bacteria and fungi) and oxygen. Several aerobic organisms are added to the wastewater in an activated sludge reactor to facilitate the aerobic process.
Anaerobic Process
Instead of using oxygen to break down the organic matter in the wastewater, fermentation is used at this point. Organic matter can be broken down without the need for oxygen by the microorganisms (anaerobic bacteria) employed in this process. Using fermentation, the waste is fermented at a particular temperature.
Composting
During this stage of treatment, sawdust or another carbon source is mixed with the effluent. A popular technique for processing sludge and turning it into a valuable product that can be added to soil to improve its nutritional content is composting.

4. Chemical Methods of Wastewater Treatment

While there are many chemical treatment methods, chemical neutralization, adsorption, precipitation, disinfection, and ion exchange are the most commonly used. Despite the differences between the chemical treatment methods mentioned above, changing external variables affect the material.
Neutralization
It is the process of controlling and maintaining the pH level of wastewater at or below 7. If the water does not have enough acidity, an acid will be added to raise the pH to the required amount. If the alkalinity of the water is insufficient, a base will be added to raise the pH level to the required level.
Adsorption
Adsorbents are used in this chemical industrial wastewater treatment process to remove soluble compounds from wastewater. Adsorption is a process used to remove a variety of organic molecules, including hazardous substances and detergents. Before use, the absorbent needs to be activated for best effect.
Precipitation
Acid or alkali is used in the chemical precipitation process to remove dissolved inorganic substances from wastewater. This technique involves either injecting chemicals or changing the temperature. Sedimentation or flotation can be used to remove the sediment.
Disinfection
In this chemical treatment process, pathogens (viruses, bacteria, and protozoa) in the wastewater are detected or inactivated using specific disinfectants. The main goal of this process is to preserve the microbiological quality of wastewater.
Ion Exchange
Softening is the main goal of the chemical treatment process. Because one charged ion is replaced by another similarly charged ion, the process is called a reversible reaction. In other words, sodium takes the place of multivalent cations.

2024.04.26 00:48 Ultim8_Lifeform Ryo Saeba Anime Draft

Ryo Saeba

My name is Ryo Saeba.
Cleaning up bugs who live in the city, that's what I do for a living.
My weapon is a Colt Python .357 Magnum.
The only thing I can't bring myself to shoot is the heart of a beautiful lady.
The hot piece of lead that shakes the muzzle is a one-hole-shot that brings down evil.
Someone who's already crossed me once is quiet the second time in Hell.
That's the way I do business.
Someone told me that blood, gun smoke, and the fragrance of roses suit me.
I am a sweeper of the city. People call me City Hunter.
Anyone who has spent considerable time in Tokyo, or Japan as a whole for that matter, may have heard rumors about the blackboard in Shinjuku station. They say that if you have a problem and can't go to the police, all you have to do is write a note with the letters XYZ at the end and wait for the mysterious City Hunter to come and find you. However, pretty much anyone that's done this will tell you that the City Hunter isn't exactly the man you might expect.
At the incredibly young age of three years old, Ryo Saeba was traveling with his parents when their plane crashed in a country in Central America that was in the middle of a civil war. Being the sole survivor, Ryo wandered the jungle for days until he stumbled upon a village of guerilla fighters that were battling their country's government. The guerilla's would only accept warriors that could fight with them, so Ryo joined their ranks in order to survive. They taught him everything they knew about warfare until Ryo grew to be one of the most dangerous men on the battlefield. However, the government forces eventually overwhelmed them, chasing the guerillas out of the country. Now an adult, Ryo made his way to the United States and opted to become a sweeper, a mercenary/bounty hunteprivate detective that performs off the books jobs to clean up the filthy criminal underworld.
At some point, Ryo left the US and returned to his birth country of Japan, where he partnered with with ex-detective Hideyuki Makimura to form the two man group known as City Hunter. Ryo's reputation spread rapidly, becoming known as one of the most dangerous men in the criminal underworld. So what's the problem? Well, he does have one weakness: Beautiful women. Despite his upbringing, Ryo is a goofy pervert and womanizer that would only accept jobs from the prettiest women around if he had his way. For awhile, he had Makimura to keep him in check, but his partner would meet a tragic end after refusing a job from a powerful drug syndicate, giving Ryo the dying request of looking after his little sister Kaori. Initially planning to help Kaori get out of the city, Ryo was surprised to find that Kaori wanted to take her brother's place as Ryo's assistant/partner and continue the work he thought was so important. Together, they became the newest iteration of City Hunter, sweeping the streets of Japan of evil and assisting any beautiful women that requested their services.
While his methods may be questionable, rest assured that the City Hunter always sees a job through no matter what criminal organizations, serial killers, or assassins stand in his way.

2024.04.25 15:30 OrzhovMarkhov A Three Houses Rewrite Concept (Part 6: Silver Snow, Blue Lions)

White Clouds (Black Eagles), White Clouds (Blue Lions), White Clouds (Golden Deer), Silver Snow (Black Eagles), Crimson Flower

Introduction

A concept for a Three Houses remake that (hopefully) solves a number of the issues some had with the game, enfolds characters and worldbuilding from the DLC and Three Hopes effectively into the base game, and creates an improved yet similar gameplay experience in the ways people enjoyed.
Base Gameplay Functions
Recruitment. At this point only your allies are in the monastery. During Chapter 12 you can still request students of the Blue Lions house join you on missions to build support, and the same with staff members who aren't technically recruited. Post-timeskip, recruitment is done on the battlefield or via paralogues.
The Calendar. You are given a new mission after completing an old one. You do not have to complete the mission before the end of a month. However, you cannot take more than forty-five days to complete any given mission. In addition, traveling over the continent map to missions, paralogues or side battles takes up time. While traveling you can miss holiday meals, holiday services, and birthdays. Students will still learn while traveling. Traveling through a green region takes 1 day. You cannot travel through silver or colorless regions. Battling in a silver region takes two days, turning it green after.
Group Tasks. There are more than three group tasks now. How many students you can assign at a time starts at two and increases with professor level, to four at D, six at C, eight at B and ten at A. The group tasks are as follows: Training Yard Management (Sword), Camp Construction (Axe), Fishing (Lance), Hunting (Bow), Night Watch (Brawling), Studying (Reason), Chapel Service (Faith), Armor Maintenance (Armor), Recruitment (Authority), Care for Horses (Riding) and Sky Watch (Flying).
Hidden Paralogues. Post timeskip, most paralogues don't simply appear on the map - they have to be discovered while conquering territory. Hidden Paralogues (which accounts for the majority of post-timeskip paralogues) ONLY APPEAR if a territory bordering them is green.
Side Battles. Post timeskip, the side battles are not named and set. Instead they're randomly generated based on the location they're in and the part of the story they're set during.
Ultimate Supports. There's a level of support after A that many characters can reach with others, not just Byleth. Depending on the pair, these are either S supports (romantic proposals) or AA supports (platonic endings). Those trigger ordinarily, through increasing support levels, except for with Byleth. Byleth can choose to give anyone they've reached A support with the ring, triggering their ultimate support.
Arcane Combat Arts. Arcane Combat Arts are the result of Relics or Mastery Abilities; they rely on a certain spell's uses and consume one when activated, as opposed to weapon durability. Each is tied to a specific spell.
Roster Revamp. If you choose Silver Snow in the Holy Tomb, Edelgard warps away - then, your students begin to discuss this new war. Most of them leave - your new roster, assuming you recruited Shez and the Ashen Wolves, is as follows: Byleth, Rhea (Archbishop), Catherine, Seteth (Wyvern Rider), Shamir (Sniper), Cyril (Wyvern Rider), Mercedes, Ashe, Manuela (Trickster), Flayn, Yuri and Alois.

Chapter 12: To War

Edelgard's forces are marching. Fortunately, it looks as though she and Hubert are the only former students present; the Blue Lion students have remained to fight alongside the Church, and while Rhea curses the Golden Deer for cowards they have every right to return home and stay out of this conflict. Meanwhile, the Church and its allies prepare for a war.
Paralogue 15: A Cursed Relic. Yuri and Shamir are discussing a Dagdan legend of plunder from Fodlan. Yuri seems particularly intrigued, then offhandedly mentions that he heard about something like that being brought in by Duke Gerth from Dagda, taken by Albinean pirates, and traded to Dominic. Baron Dominic is the green unit here, who is being attacked by monsters as Yuri seeks to reclaim the Fetters of Dromi.
A: Defending the Monastery. Exactly like Defending Garreg Mach, but the reinforcements are Dimitri for Jeritza and Felix for Hubert. Instead of being captured Rhea is injured and flees to the Kingdom just as in CF. Byleth falls just as in AM.

Chapter 13: Hunting by Daybreak

Byleth awakes and goes to the monastery, only to see Dimitri there. he whispers that he should have known Byleth would come to haunt him too - in his rambling, he also mentions that all his friends are gone, many serving the Empire, and Felix likely coming to put him down. Byleth tries to reach out to Dimitri, but he knocks them to the ground and flees. Byleth starts to follow only to meet Rhea, who came from her refuge in northeastern Faerghus on a feeling that something would happen. After a tearful reunion and Rhea asking if Byleth remembers anything, she laments that the monastery is fallen, claimed by bandits who soil its holy ground. Rhea asks if Byleth will help her reclaim this sacred place and restore it to glory, triggering the fight. Before the battle, however, you see (as you do before most battles in this route) students you can recruit talking to one another. You can recruit Shez using Byleth if they have at least a C support. You can recruit Felix using Byleth or Seteth assuming they have at least a C support with him.
After the battle, Rhea gathers the Church forces to her and announces that with Byleth returned, they have to push back against the Empire and its vassal states. Byleth adds, to Rhea's irritation, that they're going to try and keep their students safe. Rhea tells them, trying to be gentle, that the Kingdom is in ruins and most of their students won't be available. Byleth persists, and Rhea just shakes her head sadly and leaves.

Chapter 14: A King Without A Kingdom

The Western Kingdom and the Southern Alliance are under the sway of the Empire, and the students have become generals in their respective armies. The Church has reclaimed Garreg Mach, but it seems the Empire has heard - and they send forces to reclaim it: Randolph von Bergliez, Constance von Nuvelle and Thaddeus von Ochs. The Church has to stabilize the area around Garreg Mach before Randolph arrives to attack.
A: Defending Garreg Mach. Before the Imperial army arrives, there's a brief scene showing a student who can be recruited discussing with Randolph; in battle, Constance can be recruited by Byleth or Yuri if they have at least a C support with her. Randolph flees once defeated in this route, with Baron Ochs and (perhaps) Constance the only deaths.

Chapter 15: The Valley of Torment

After the monastery is safe, Rhea invites Byleth with her to the Holy Tomb. She asks if Byleth recalls the Red Canyon, and Byleth responds that they fought Kostas there. Rhea begins to choke up and asks Byleth to leave her in the tomb, which they obediently do, having the option to pause a moment outside which allows them to hear her weeping. Meeting with the other Knights, Catherine recommends meeting in the Valley of Torment, near Charon territory. Catherine interjects to mention that Rodrigue, who has been holding out against the Empire, will try and meet them there as well, with supplies and troops. Together, the Knights plan their next move.
A: Clash at Ailell. As the Knights mobilize to meet Rodrigue (who enters as a green unit but, if protected, becomes a blue unit immediately after the battle) word of their meeting reaches House Rowe. While the Rowe knights mobilize and catch a thief as well, the Knights enter the Valley only to walk right into an ambush. Hapi is recruitable by Byleth or Yuri if they have at least a C support. Ingrid is also recruitable by Byleth, Ashe or Mercedes if they have at least a C support. After the battle, Rodrigue mentions that forces in the Alliance seem to be gearing up to drive the Empire out of the Bridge of Myrddin. Catherine notes that if they strike quickly, they could sieze Myrddin themselves and use it to stage an invasion of Bergliez.

Chapter 16: The Rose-Colored River

Rumors reach the Knights of Alliance and Kingdom forces rallying behind Claude and Dimitri respectively. Byleth can suggest they help either or wait and let the three nations tire each other out; all students from the respective nation (or the Empire if neither is chosen) increase their support with Byleth. Rhea says instead they ought to take the Bridge of Myrddin and then use it to choke the Empire into submission. Seteth and Catherine agree that’s the best bet, and the Knights march on the Alliance.
A: Hidden Paralogue 5 - Heir to Albrecht. Shamir gets asked about a mercenary contract for a single job and suggests they all go check it out. Apparently a pricey bounty is in a local inn, and that could of course help finance the war. When the group arrives, however, it’s not a stranger but Balthus, fighting off several mercenaries. Upon realizing it, any recruited Wolves immediately advise to help him instead. If none are alive and recruited, Balthus calls out to Byleth asking for help. After the paralogue is completed, Balthus catches up to the army and offers to help them out in repayment.
B: Battle at the Great Bridge. Before the Knights reach the bridge, its defenders talk strategy. After the Knights arrive, they sweep the Great Bridge. Halfway through the battle, however, Ladislava enters as reinforcement - along with Lorenz, to his father's consternation. Lorenz and Ladislava fall defending the Bridge as Erwin promptly retreats, forced to give it up to Church control.

Chapter 17: Blood of the Eagle and Lion

The Empire, Kingdom and Alliance forces, all gathering to fight, meet at Gronder Field. The Kingdom and the Alliance don’t fight one another, focusing on the Empire, but Dimitri seems quite aggressive and Shamir reports that she actually overheard Alliance forces discussing destroying the Knights of Seiros after they swept through the western Alliance. It seems all three factions may come out as enemies.
A: To War at Gronder. While crossing the Great Bridge, the Knights receive reports that the Kingdom has managed to force a small force through the mountains, while the Alliance has crossed a sequence of smaller bridges in Ordelia. No one knows who can be trusted. Before the battle a scene plays, and Dimitri discusses with Sylvain and Dedue regarding his own state. Finally, the Knights deploy to fight forces of all three nations; they soon find the Alliance has soldiers out for their blood, and Claude opts to defend his people rather than let them fall to Rhea's blade. Dimitri will hear no reason, and of course the Empire wishes to stop all three from advancing. During the battle Sylvain can be recruited by Byleth, Ingrid or Felix if they have C support, and Dedue can be recruited by Byleth, Mercedes or Flayn if they've reached B support. After the battle, a cutscene plays. Edelgard and Claude meet while organizing a retreat. They drop their default lines (lovelier than ever, not so unfortunate) then Edelgard raises Aymr, only to pause as Claude stows Failnaught. She lowers her own weapon as Claude explains that after that battle, he's done with Fodlan. He mentions that despite what differences they may have, he doubts either he or Edelgard wants to see a world with Rhea regaining control, and in the interest of "a potential future favor" warns her that it seems like Rhea and Dimitri are conspiring together before he mounts his wyvern and flies off, leaving Edelgard to hurry south. After this scene, Dimitri approaches Byleth. Byleth can either order the Knights to take him in and care for him, or to leave him. If you leave him here, there's a brief few lines about packing up then a CG of Dimitri collapsed on the field while any recruited Lions lament his death. If you ask the Knights to care for him, there's a CG of Rhea embracing him while she orders them to do so without hesitation as a very wounded and weakened Dimitri thanks both Byleth and Rhea profusely. When he wakes up, there's a CG of all the recruited Lions and Byleth standing at his bedside, and he hoarsely demands to know why they wouldn't let him die. At that point Dimitri officially joins your army.

Chapter 18: The Resurrection of Seiros

After success at Gronder, whispers have spread across the land. People say Seiros has been reborn. They say that she lives on in Rhea, the Archbishop, and that she'll destroy the Empire. Rhea welcomes these rumors and dons the Seiros garb henceforth when she goes to battle, unlocking the Saint class. As an additional mastery reward, Saint offers a class-exclusive Arcane Combat Art: Immaculate Transformation, which expends a use of Abraxas and turns Rhea into the Immaculate One for three turns or until she uses her staggering blow. As the Immaculate One, she can attack at one to three range with her Crest Stone, can fly, and takes up nine spaces. She does only have her normal amount of HP but heals each turn. The Knights decide that they need to secure the Kingdom and Alliance, both of which, paying heed to the rumors, now have factions that may be willing to assist the Knights with their war. Rhea decides to head to Fhirdiad and Derdriu; Dimitri, or Yuri (or Catherine if neither was recruited) recommends taking the Silver Maiden instead, as it will allow them to hold the border with the Empire and is much closer to the monastery. Seteth advises taking Derdriu first; the Kingdom is in shambles and will pose little threat. So the Knights march on Derdriu.
A: Hidden Paralogue 2 - Forgotten Hero. As the Knights of Seiros touch upon the infamous Enchanted Forest of Mircea, a howl echoes through the sky. A soft sound of weeping permeates the fog, and Ashe recalls a legend of a lost Elite and a beast that wanders these woods. Rhea goes very silent regarding this legend, and Seteth tells Flayn to stay silent just as she seems about to speak. Upon arrival, the Knights find Marianne (a green unit) in the midst of a forest of monsters, talking to Maurice. Maurice has unique dialogue against Rhea, and once the paralogue is completed Marianne joins your army.
B: Capturing Derdriu. As the Knights arrive in the city, the Imperial army faces off against Erwin - who, after the fall of Myrddin, has decided that the Church might well be a safer bet for the Alliance than the Empire. However, after their standstill ends, an Imperial scout calls out to Monica with news that sends Gregoire scurrying - and a cutscene triggers. Almyran ships, massive 24-gun warships, crest the horizon to the sound of Citizens of the East. Cannonballs fly over the city - and hit the walls, constructed long ago, that protect Derdriu from flooding. Water sweeps through the city streets. A lone man on wyvernback flies to the raised outer platform and throws a handaxe at an Imperial archer preparing to fire, and Nader steps off and announces himself as the camera pans over the approaching ships, with wyverns, soldiers, and giant hawks waiting on deck. "My name is Nader the Undefeated, and this city is now under the protection of the Almyran Navy... under command of Prince Khalid the Immortal, heir to the throne." At the announcement of their commander the camera focuses in on the furthest ship - where Claude, Failnaught in hand, watches carefully. Then the cutscene ends, and Claude calls commands to the soldiers. Claude has unique dialogue against Byleth, Rhea and Cyril making his goals and intentions clear. After a long battle, the Knights drive out the Empire and protect Derdriu from Almyra... and now the time has come to turn their gaze to the far west, where Arianrhod awaits.

Chapter 19: Maiden of Discord

With the Alliance now firmly under Church control and safe from Imperial incursions, the Knights must turn their gaze westward. Fanning out through both Imperial and Faerghan Mach, they prepare to take the fortress city Arianrhod. Seteth confronts Rhea about what she intends to do once the war is over, with Catherine quick to come to her defense and Byleth asked to mediate. There isn't time to talk the aftermath too much, however; as Annette arrives to Garreg Mach, she mentions that her father is planning with some other Kingdom knights to stage a battle against the Empire at Arianrhod, and hopes the Church can arrive in time to help, lighting a fire under them to attack the fortress. Annette joins your army at the beginning of this chapter.
A: Hidden Paralogue 3 - Legend of the Lake. As the Knights pass Duval territory, Flayn mentions a curious myth about a saintly beast and a Sacred Relic. She tells Byleth, but advises them not to tell Rhea because she suspects she would be rather opposed to disturbing a sacred location for such a thing. Seteth is scandalized when he finds out, but admits that it could be good to go and speak to a certain old friend there. Rhea can't be deployed in this battle. Byleth gathers those they think should join in such an excursion only to find a giant turtle apparently blocking the way. Upon arrival, they find Linhardt (a green unit) who seems to have been curious about the same thing. If he survives the battle, he asks to join your army.
B: Hidden Paralogue 4 - Foreign Land and Skies. The Empire is well and truly entrenched in Brigid; The Church intends to go and see if the island nation can't be persuaded to their side. Failing that, they may be forced to put an end to the pro-Imperial dynasty and cow the nation into staying neutral. The battle layout and opening and arrival dialogues change based on whether Byleth has a B support with Petra, and she is resistant to the Empire at the beginning and when arriving; or whether Byleth does not, and Petra is openly on the side of the Empire and arrives as reinforcement. Either way, only Byleth can persuade her to join the Church, if they've reached C support.
C: Siege of the Silver Maiden. Arianrhod has long been a prize of the Kingdom, and the Empire won't let it go easily. However, some of the Kingdom's knights have organized a resistance! They attacked Arianrhod - and it seems Marquis Vestra, for inexorable reasons, attacked a faction within the fortress. The Knights of Seiros, reinforcing the Kingdom, are drawing quite a bit of attention from both the Empire and the Agarthans as they arrive. Gilbert can be recruited in this chapter by talking to him with Dimitri or Annette. Of course, Rhea and the Knights are able to expel Hubert, destroy Cornelia, and reclaim Arianrhod to defend the Kingdom in truth.

Chapter 20: The Impregnable Fortress

After establishing safe boundaries for the Alliance and Kingdom, Rhea decides that it’s high time to press southward to the heart of the enemy - and to destroy Edelgard once and for all. The first thing to do is seize Fort Merceus, in the heart of Bergliez, to advance from there into Hresvelg, where Edelgard rules.
A: Taking Fort Merceus. The battle is laid out exactly as it would be in Verdant Winds if Linhardt was recruited (in current 3H), with Caspar standing guard along with Jeritza. After Jeritza starts fleeing, however, reinforcements appear if Shez wasn't recruited. The commanders are defeated and the Javelins of Light fall as the Death Knight flees. Rhea has some feelings about them, of course, but tries to contain herself. Right now? They have an Empire to topple. And Enbarr is within sight.

Chapter 21: The Chaos of War

The Knights of Seiros, having taken Fort Merceus, march on Enbarr. Edelgard's decision to keep civilians in the homes is met with quite a bit of shock, including, if recruited, from some of her own.
A: Skirmish in the Streets. Hubert and the Death Knight stand guard in the city streets; Jeritza dies when defeated, as does Hubert. Afterward, there is nothing left save to make your way into the palace itself.

Chapter 22: As The Dead Demand

A: Clash at the Imperial Palace. This chapter plays out mostly the same as in Silver Snow. When Edelgard is defeated, a cutscene plays: if you recruited Dimitri, Edelgard steps back, panting, and raises Aymr to guard as he thrusts with Areadhbar. It's not enough, however, and the axe shatters and Dimitri successfully stabs Edelgard, who goes limp. He drops Areadhbar and falls to his knees, beginning to cry, then whispers, "what more do you ask." Rhea and Byleth approach, each putting a hand on his shoulder, and the scene ends. If not, then Rhea and Byleth both fight Edelgard for a brief period, then Rhea manages to claim the final blow, cutting Edelgard down, and the scene ends. After the battle, Rhea and a letter from Hubert fill in details regarding the Agarthans and Relics. Then it becomes clear exactly where the Knights must next go.

Chapter 23: The City Without Light

After Edelgard’s conquest ends, the Nabateans end up making one thing clear: the Agarthans, who were behind Nemesis, are ready to destroy everything once they set up their schemes. Everyone is in agreement: the Agarthans must be stopped. Rhea, Byleth, the Knights of Seiros, and whoever they’ve ended up recruiting from the other nations of Fodlan begin marching their way eastward, to fight Those Who Slither in the Dark.
A: Hidden Paralogue 4 - Into the Abyss (Shez). Shez approaches Byleth mid-travel. Byleth asks them what they’re doing and they respond, “oh, nothing. Just thinking how the time has finally come,” in Arval’s voice. Shez then grabs Byleth and teleports them to an empty void. Byleth prepares to fight Shez, who in turn raises their hands and says they don't know what happened. Epimenides appears and monologues about the fall of the Agarthans for a while and then tells Byleth and Shez that "the Fell Star" and "his worthless vessel" are trapped in Zahras forever. Byleth hears Sothis' voice, as if from afar, command them to kill Epimenides; once they do, for a moment, the form of a woman appears in a rift of light that deposits both of them at the very same place and time they started. Completing this paralogue unlocks the Asura class for Shez.
A: Stand Strong at Shambhala. This battle plays out much as in current Silver Snow; however, in the lead up, Rhea is more regretful, seemingly, of what happened to Byleth. Rhea seems eager to finally take her revenge, with Dimitri solemnly offering his support. The battle plays out the same. When Thales calls down the javelins, Rhea stops them, and when she lands, Byleth and Dimitri if he's recruited thank her profusely. There’s a brief moment after the battle where Byleth, shown by a dying Myson, gets the chance to use the Asclepius Engine and, rather than demanding they try to use it to call back Sothis, Rhea allows Byleth to choose a single unit that died over the course of the playthrough; in addition to all the dead units, Jeralt is an option, and if you choose Jeralt then you gain support with both him and Rhea and there's a CG of Jeralt hugging Byleth after emerging from the machine. Then, however, the Nemesis awakening scene plays out as Rhea, Byleth and possibly Dimitri begin discussing how to proceed with Fodlan.

Chapter 24: Following a Dream

After the Agarthans are defeated, everyone gathers at the monastery to discuss Fodlan’s future only to find that a man and an army of undead soldiers are tearing northward. Dimitri if he was recruited, Jeralt if he was resurrected and it isn't Dimitri, or otherwise Seteth - returns barely alive from trying to slow his advance. Rhea’s reaction to their return is grateful for Dimitri, relieved for Jeralt, and extremely relieved for Seteth, who she reminds she attempted to insist not go in the first place. Everyone agrees: they have one more monster to stop before Fodlan’s future is safe.
A: The King of Liberation. At the Tailtean Plains, Rhea makes note that this is where she slew Nemesis all those years ago. Finally, Nemesis and the Ten Elites appear, along with a few Agarthan mages. Lamine does something which covers the battlefield in sludge, though the rivers stop it from spreading too far. Thus begins the final battle. Nemesis and his Elites fight against the Knights of Seiros and the Imperial army to the sound of God-Shattering Star. After you destroy the Ten Elites and defeat Nemesis himself, the final cutscene triggers.
If you recruited Dimitri, then it’s Dimitri who rushes Nemesis, Rhea right behind him. Nemesis knocks both down and runs at Rhea only for Dimitri to throw Areadhbar and knock him out of the way. Rhea stands and Dimitri orders her to protect herself. She hesitates, then grabs his arm and orders him to do the same. As Nemesis swings again, the two make a united charge against him, Areadhbar to the legs and the Sword of Seiros to the head. Nemesis tries to parry Areadhbar and Rhea cuts his head clean off, with it flying in a wide arc to land on the grass as she turns and cleans her blade with a sigh.
If you didn’t recruit Dimitri but recruited Yuri, Rhea rushes at Nemesis only to be stopped by a hand on her shoulder as Yuri tells her not to rush in. Nemesis mocks her, and Rhea grits her teeth but holds back. Nemesis finally charges, just in time for Yuri to jump in front of him, warp out of the way as he swings and cut his hamstrings, leading him to fall at Rhea’s feet. Rhea drives the Sword of Seiros through his heart, killing him, before turning away with a sigh.
If you didn’t recruit your lord or Yuri, but resurrected Jeralt, then the hand on her shoulder is Jeralt. He tells her he wants a go at this so-called King, and swordfights Nemesis for a bit. Rhea yells for him to leave Nemesis to her, and Jeralt counters that she’d have to make him. Rhea goes as though to shove him aside, then hesitates. She waits a moment, then as Nemesis lunges, casts Agnea's Arrow, incinerating him right in front of Jeralt, who turns to her and thanks her as she simply sighs.
If you didn’t meet the conditions for any of the above, then Rhea rushes Nemesis only to be knocked to the ground and disarmed. Byleth blocks Nemesis’ sword before it can strike her, and Rhea stands in shock. Byleth knocks Nemesis back, turns to Rhea, and then just as Byleth is about to step back, Rhea does so, turning with a sigh as Byleth dispatches Nemesis.
After this, the appropriate S support cutscene plays, then Byleth and their spouse are standing close together for the final scenes of Rhea and, if recruited, Dimitri discussing changes to be made in the future. Afterward, if your spouse is Seteth or Yuri, they mention they aren’t sure if this will be a good idea, then a cutscene begins regardless of S support status. Byleth lays the Sword of the Creator in a shallow grave, then lies beside it. Rhea kneels as they close their eyes, cuts open their chest, and pulls out Sothis’ Crest Stone. Rhea immediately heals Byleth with white magic, and their heart begins beating as their hair bleeds to blue. They sit up and look to Rhea, who crushes the Crest Stone, then drops the fragments in the grave. Byleth grabs a shovel, as do Rhea, Seteth, and, if recruited, Jeralt and your lord. Then there’s a scene from inside the grave of dirt covering it up, and a long sigh and Sothis whispering “finally.” Cut to outside the grave; Rhea is crying silently and whispers “goodbye, mother,” before hugging Byleth, then it goes to the ending text and end cards. The ending crawl changes slightly, based on whether you recruited Dimitri or not.
Without Dimitri: A rising flame was alight as the flow of time carved a new history for Fódlan. The final battle was over, and Nemesis was destroyed, along with the Agarthans. After five and a half years of war, a new age was set to begin. The Empire, Kingdom, and Alliance were forever changed, many of their leaders gone and the rest stepping up with the help of the Church. The borders were reinforced by divine decree, and many policies the Church had once held sacred were reworked entirely. The church's new leader became a champion of the people, working tirelessly to help them overcome the horrors of war and to carve a path towards reconstruction. Just as Saint Seiros tended to those who suffered in wars of the past, Fódlan's new rulers, with her guidance, embraced their role as guardians of the continent and its people.

2024.04.25 09:34 vanderlay_pty_ltd 2024 Auscorp Community Census Results

2024 Auscorp Community Census Results
Thanks to everyone who took the time to fill out the Auscorp community census - and tell us about yourselves and your impressions of the community so far.
Demographics
Relatively few big surprises here.
- 3 in 5 people are employed in financial services, professional services or legal
- 3 in 5 people are in the first 10 years of their careers
- Almost half of community have undergrad as their highest qualification, with coursework-based postgrad making up another 41%. I was honestly surprised how few PhD's there were, relative to Tafe/high-school educated - I personally know a lot of people in office with PhDs...
- 3 in 4 people are based in Sydney or Melbourne - predominantly in CBD.
- Gender shows a small but convincing male majority (it is statistically significant at p ~=0.005 , in case anyone was wondering). I suspect this is just because reddit is a more male dominated platform than instagram (for example) - reddit overall seems to be 25%-35% female according to what I could find in a quick google.

Feedback and Impressions of Auscorp
Exactly 2/3 of respondents agreed that the current level of moderation feels about right, whereas 23% wanted a less moderated community and 11% wanted more stasi-esque moderation. Can't keep everyone happy of course, but it's probably a good indicator to keep current level of content moderation.
Of course we will continue to be strict with our enforcement of no spam and no doxing in particular, due to both legal/reputation reasons and general pleasantness of sub.
In terms of content, I was surprised at how positively people responded to ... everything. It kind of reminded me of the market research scene in the 'Itchy and Scratchy and Poochie show' Simpsons episode. There are certain topics that were more neutral, or that elicited strong positive AND negative reactions - but these tended to outweigh each other more or less perfectly.
In summary, no topic really got net negative feedback at all.

I will write a few more insights about feedback later tonight - in particular some of the free text responses I thought were interesting. Once the mod team has had time to discuss these results, we will update you with any changes to sub off the back of this survey.
In meantime, keen to hear anyones thoughts below - either on census results or sub in general (including how we can improve it).
Cheers!

2024.04.24 02:10 Few_Fig_5015 OCD/Trauma response getting in the way of compersion

I'm hesitant to post this but I'm desperate for advice from other non-monogamous people. Maybe this belongs in OCD instead?
My (40F) husband (40M) of 12 years (open for 6) is taking his first weekend trip to see another sex partner (NB27). They are a genuinely lovely individual. He met them at an event and they live a plane ride away. I want to be supportive of him, and I want him to have a great time, but since he told me he was going I have been struggling intensely with the fear of being replaced by someone who doesn't have all my problems, is much younger and objectively more attractive than me. I'm not putting myself down, they're super hot! Everything about this trip has touched a triggesensitive spot/negative core belief. I've taken weekend trips to meet up with people before so I feel like a complete hypocrite and awful partner. I haven't cried this much since I was taking care of a relative in hospice last year (relevant: 2023 was the most traumatic year of my life, it was loss after loss- my life hasn't been fun and he has been incredibly supportive throughout all of it.)
It doesn't help that I have OCD that centers on intrusive thoughts and rumination. Our communication is great and I've been doing everything I can think of to acclimate to this and transform my fear into as close to compersion as I can get- Rereading the classics, listening to podcasts, journaling, upping my therapy sessions, asking questions to microdose exposure to the trip, doing freaking DBT worksheets and exercises when I start to catastrophize/spiral. He's so excited for his trip and I... am absolutely miserable. I continue to be terrified that once he gets back I will be less attractive to him after a weekend of banging a hot younger person with a variety of magical sex powers. I'm afraid we will fall into the trap of "man replaces wife with younger model" even though he's never done anything to cause me not to trust him other than biting the tips off my pizza slices that I was going to bring to work one time as a prank. He has been so patient with me and willing to respectfully talk through my fears. He has reassured me and held me and told me how proud he is that I'm putting so much effort into growing. I know, in my rational mind, that he loves me more than anything in the world and would never replace me. I know that this trip is not a reflection of me or our marriage. I know that this is my trauma mixing with my OCD to create a poop smoothie of despair.
I'm so disappointed in my reaction to this. I desperately want to be excited for him but I just cannot get past my own trauma and anxiety and fear. So here are my questions:
  1. How do I trick my brain into feeling, if not compersion, at least neutral towards this new part of his life?
  2. How do I show myself kindness while I continue to put 110% effort into becoming a better partner?
  3. Other than filling my time with positive and affirming activities, how do I make it through the weekend without breaking down, calling him for support and tarnishing his experience?

2024.04.23 13:28 Sarvowater Wastewater Treatment Methods: A Complete Overview

2024.04.21 19:38 Reasonable-Money6076 I need help with my chemistry titration practical.

I have a lab practical this week and it’s involves Coca Cola, NAOH and brothymool blue. The issue is I’m still a lil confused on the steps and how to preform this lab great. I have my notebook info recorded and I did online research but it would be a honor if someone could give a simple and great breakdown on the steps and the understanding of the info below:
The manufacturers of Coca-Cola products keep the recipe of ingredients in a secure location. By reviewing the list of ingredients in standard Coke, phosphoric acid (H3PO4) is one of the acidic components to provide a sour or tangy flavor profile. Unfortunately, the concentration of phosphoric acid is not well known in Coke. Consider the balanced equation when trying to determine the acid-base reaction at a neutral pH of 7.
H3PO4 (aq) + 2 NaOH (aq) → Na2HPO4 (aq) + 2 H2O (l)
In the lab, you will have a sample of Coke, a standardized base, and will be using bromothymol blue as an indicator.
Your goal is to determine the concentration of phosphoric acid in coke, provide a protocol for the experiment, interpret the data, and summarize the lab.

2024.04.19 23:00 MichiHirota Let’s Try This Again, the r/Chuggaaconroy Sub will be Reopening, Tomorrow.

(TLDR on the bottom of this post.)
Hi folks, it’s been a while since I’ve done anything with this subreddit. I’ve pretty much remained quiet and neutral throughout the whole controversy. A lot has gone down these past few days huh…? In the time that this subreddit has been closed, I’ve been going through some renovations in order to accommodate safe discussions, because lord knows we’ll still have toxic visitors at this point. This includes new rules, new external operations, and new mods that will be handling this sub.
In regards to this controversy, I want to say that this sub was never supposed to be a drama subreddit in the first place. This sub was never supposed to be the place where hatred is fueled to antagonize and hurt others. Even after Emile had made his response, people are still bringing on justification of hatred towards the parties involved, and I’m not gonna let people use this sub for that. Emile would not tolerate this, and neither will I.
I was around this sub when it had around 1K followers, and I am happy that I helped it get to 9K followers prior to the controversy(with the help of u/SeedersPhD of course). He and I both share the value that this was the place where anybody interested in any Chugga related content can feel safe and be happy talking about your favorite Let’s Player. This sub intends to promote kindness, empathy, and integrity the same way Emile has in his videos, and it fosters a positive environment in the process. Seeders and I were proud that we were able to make it happen as long as it did, and we feel accomplished in that regard.
So it was really disappointing that Emile became a center of internet drama, and people flooded this subreddit to have a massive meltdown about this entire issue. Both newcomers to the subreddit, as well as some people I’ve known on here, just got so toxic to the point where you’re arguing over politics with a random stranger online. I did my best when trying to contain the negative emotions involved, but it was too much. And I couldn’t exactly hire new mods at the time because that’s a long process in itself when I’m already dealing with this subreddit by myself.
I had to deal with that when the Emily and Masae stuff dropped. Then by the Lawly thing I was just done. Anytime a discussion involving a minor is involved, everybody assumes the worst of the situation, and things have gotten out of hand quickly because of it. The more this happened, the more I was compelled to close down this sub indefinitely because I don’t want this place to be a breeding ground of toxicity for discussions about this controversy. All I want is a safe community for Chugga fans to freely talk about his content over the years. This sub belongs to the Chugga fans, but it can’t happen when the whole place is being vandalized in the first place.
Regardless of how you feel about the parties in this drama involved, talking about this controversy will only stoke hatred in people. There’s no good faith in talking about it and this goes against the values of what this subreddit was supposed to be in the first place. It’s because of this that I didn’t want to reopen the subreddit immediately when Emile’s response was dropped. There was also the fear that after Emile’s response, other parties will respond that will lead to more toxicity in the subreddit, because with how large this sub is and it being the first place to go to, it’ll create more visitors and more toxicity in the first place. I just want to say that seeing all of the reactions of people from the Chugga fanbase, to Emily’s fanbase, to pretty much everywhere else, with Emile’s most recent response this has become a 50-50 public issue in my eyes now.
In regards to the Chuggaaconroy_2 sub, I want to remind folks that Reddit is basically a free country. There’s no rule stating that you can’t follow one without the other. There is a precedent for having multiple subreddit about a particular subject. The ProJared sub has 2 subreddits dedicated to him. There are also 4 separate “Attack on Titan” subreddits that basically serve the same function to that great work of fiction. If you want to stay away from here and hang around the Chugga2 sub, that’s okay. But I can promise you that when I do reopen this sub, I’m gonna be posting some stuff, and if you like what you see, feel free to stick around since there will be more coming your way.
The subreddit will run the same way it always has prior to this drama, but there will be more enforcement on this sub this time around because of Emile now being in a controversy, and peacetime for the community will never be the same as before sadly. If Emile ever decides to come back to making videos again, I’ll have the CCBot ready for you. If you want to get updates about the latest episodes and would like to talk about it, the CCBot will be around for it.
I don’t know about you, but I’m personally sick and tired of this drama. If you are and want to see more stuff that’s not related to the controversy, stick around here because I’m sure some of you need it after what’s been going on for the past few days. Because of this, discussions regarding the drama will be forbidden, and any violations to this will constitute a ban. Any discussions regarding his controversy should be redirected to the Chuggaaconroy_2 or TheRunawayGuys Sub. The TheRunawayGuys sub has a rule where you can only comment about the controversy in their megathread and not make a post about it, so respect this rule.
I am also choosing to remove every post about the drama during the height of the controversy except for 1, where I’m leaving that one up as a way to say that the sub isn’t ignoring Emile's mistakes in his controversy. We have acknowledged that this happened, and this subreddit and myself don’t condone Emile’s actions for what he was accused of. At the same time, leaving all of the prior post up will indicate that we are still into the drama when we’re not. I think this is a fair tradeoff to allow this subreddit to be operational again.
Anyways, I want this post to give a full day of notice before I re-open the sub again. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. I ask that you remain civil as always and I will not tolerate any kind of inappropriate behavior here.
TLDR: I don’t want this subreddit to be a place of hate. There will be no Chugga-related Controversy post or news on this subreddit. Please go to Chuggaaconroy_2 or TheRunawayGuys Sub for that.
EDIT: Any comments that tries to bring hate against anybody involved in the Chugga controversy will be banned. You have been warned. X

2024.04.19 17:54 StrawberrySeed96 For those with Acid Reflux or a sour taste in the mouth/throat, I may have a cure.

Skip to 2nd paragraph for my solution.
Context: I've had terrible breath for years. Initially I thought it was my wisdom teeth as they were rotting in my mouth. My tongue was white and I had a horrible taste in my mouth. Having those teeth removed helped, but I was still getting a lot of reactions. I have post nasal drip, acid reflux, dry mouth (anxiety doesn't help), and larger tonsils. I had H. Pylori when I was younger and thought about getting tested for that again, as well as SIBO, etc. Haven't done that yet though. I saw an ENT who claimed my breath was fine. My oral health (besides my white tongue) was great. I saw a dentist and didn't have any gum issues. I take probiotics, drink a ton of water, make sure to eat throughout the day because an empty stomach will make things worse.
What has essentially given me my life back is this: Every night I do oil pulling. I use Guru Nanda (I know it's trending, I promise I'm not trying to sell anything) because you only need to swish for a few minutes compared to 20-30 with plain coconut oil. When I started doing that, my breath was fresher and my tongue was becoming pink. I only do that at nighttime. The rest of my routine which is day/night is to floss, scrape my tongue, use a small irrigator syringe to clean my tonsils, use an electric toothbrush with BAKING SODA toothpaste (Arm & Hammer has a new one with Therabreath). That is so important to neutralize your mouth. Once I brush my teeth, I clean my toothbrush and put a dab of toothpaste on and start cleaning my tongue. Make sure to not only clean the back, but to go DOWN as far as you can. That is another thing that made a huge difference. I used to always go far back but I never really went down my throat. Then I rinse, and swish therabreath mouthwash for 1 minute. I spit that out, then pour a little bit more and gargle for 30 seconds. Last but not least, an absolute game changer is ALKALINE WATER. I'm so serious, this is what literally topped off my routine and made my mouth/throat feel lightweight and tasteless. Buy a brand with a PH of 9.5. I buy Smart Water and BodyArmor. They are about 32oz and I sip on it all day. After I eat, I swish some around my mouth. With acid reflux, there is an enzyme called Pepsin. That will stick to your esophagus, mouth, and sinuses. It essentially causes you to digest food in your mouth/throat which is the source of odor. It will only go away on its own, however alkaline water neutralizes it. This is what ultimately took away the gas I felt my throat was harboring. You can also do a sinus rinse, I use NeilMed Sinus Rinse from Amazon. I take Xyzal & Flonase to help with post nasal drip. I try to avoid trigger foods as well. Dairy, sugar, and anything with tomatoes are the worst for me. If I'm eating something acidic or fatty, sometimes I will take an antacid (Tums Chews) right before I eat to help avoid reflux.
But yeah, this is my story and I really hope it helps other people.

This summary is the result of a five month mathematical study on the variance and distribution of abnormalities in the financial trading pattern of stock and crypto markets. The result: a largely unnoticed subversion of Western financial markets is taking place - at the center: trading bots of Russian origin.
Their suspected objective: undermine and destroy public confidence in the correct and lawful functioning of financial markets by distorting trading statistics with an avalanche of self-trading or zero-sum trading.
Their target: financial markets, in particular stock and crypto exchanges in North-America, Europe, Australia, and – ironically – several Chinese owned exchanges.
The reaction of regulators or law enforcement up to this date of publication: none are known.
Consequences for the perpetrators in this game of manipulation so far: none are known.
The purpose of this paper is not to point fingers at specific individuals or entities – this is a job for law enforcement and regulators -, but to rather describe the problem of a fraudulent practice, and the scientific approach how it was discovered, and the potential consequences of inaction. The purpose of this summary also is to call the attention of law makers to an increasing threat.
The detailed study is available on request to qualifying individuals and entities.
To put things into perspective: try to imagine for a moment, what would happen to Western economies, if the public trust into a neutral, impartial, fair functioning of financial markets were to disappear, if no one could trust anymore the reported figures of trading and financial markets statistics.
If you guessed a complete breakdown of the financial markets, worse than 2008, you are probably on the right track. Unlike 2008, such a breakdown would not have a quick fix by central banks but likely would take decades for a recovery back to day zero. The subprime crisis in the US would pale against the calamitous consequences of eroded trust in law and order in the financial markets.
My background is in geophysics, mathematics and engineering, and my team and I run a project in quantum mechanics that is intended to replace GPS navigation with a quantum physics based system that is not dependent on any terrestrial base stations or satellites. During research we came to realize that quantum entanglement could be used in conjunction with tokens in IoT (Internet of Things) technology to not only assign a value (a price tag, in plain English) to virtually any imaginable item (e.g. a tooth brush, a car, a bolt, a house, or an item as simple as a nail) but to also obtain from the item in question its precise location data. This location data would be available for any item, whether it is underground, in the deep sea or in space. Its far more advanced and precise than traditional GPS. Obviously, many items like a simple screw or a nail are far too small to be equipped with GPS tags, so a quantum based IoT technology would be just ideally suited. Another application would be cashierless checkout for customers in grocery stores or supermarkets. For proof of concept, we developed a token and listed it on several exchanges. Here things got muddy.
This token, which would be used in further development stages to provide the IoT services of precise location and value assignment of any imaginable item, soon encountered some confusing headwinds by brokers and exchanges alike.
We were told by brokers and exchanges that in order to continue their services we would be required to employ the services of “market makers” and “liquidity providers”.
I am an engineer and physicist, so these terms were not familiar to me. I heard of them before, but their meaning and practical application was elusive. After some research, it became clear that market makers in the stock markets can be persons, who – on a hire for payment basis - increase the volume of trading in a certain exchange traded asset in order to replace or compensate for lack of public interest in that particular asset. Some of these even put into their trading system sell and buy orders for the same asset at the same time, a practice that raised more questions than answers for a financial layman like me.
Some phone calls and more reading later, we came to realize that the terms “market making” or “providing liquidity” in reality for these brokers and exchanges mean to establish – bluntly put: fake - trading volume and fake (too narrow) bid-ask spreads with the assistance of elaborate trading bots.
I am not a lawyer, but to my basic sense of right and wrong, the proposed propping up of trading statistics with the help of self-trading trading bots sounds much more wrong than right. We decided to investigate the matter further.
For that purpose, we took the data of
- the first top ranked 100 crypto assets, and
- the first top ranked 100 crypto exchanges
from the market data sites coinmarketcap.com and coingecko.com.
We also obtained from one of the numerous data vendors
- the publicly available trading statistics of a well-known North-American venture stock exchange, as well
- the publicly available trading statistics of a European stock exchange, that has attracted small and medium sized enterprises.
In-depth information, that would reveal fake bid-ask spreads, exaggerated market capitalization or exaggerated fake trading volume is at first glance at the data sets not immediately obvious. The bots are well designed.
Although information sites like coinmarketcap.com or coingecko.com employ algorithms to catch the most obvious perpetrators, the fake trading bots usually have no problem in getting around these rather low barriers. Algorithms that rely on variables like bid or ask size, order size, and trading volume are well meant but not enough.
During our research we concluded that traditional methods of statistical mathematics returned inconclusive results. We then decided to apply – summarizing – a combination of iterative transformation functions and a newly developed quantum computing algorithm to drill down into more depth in order to obtain the desired details. Our functions and algorithms are trained with what is “normal lawful” trading, which then would catch deviations. A quantum computing algorithm was used to obtain the required data sets or drill down into more details to confirm the applied functions. We have been asked about the details of the applied mathematical functions and computer algorithms: these are in the detailed study.
Based on our mathematical analysis it appears that the results are as follows:

These figures can change within a single digit percentage range depending on the iterations of the transformation functions, the function characteristics itself and the set of introduced variables. However, the general order of magnitude is correct.
The margin of error has been determined to be at 4.67%.
The inner design of a typical trading bots, responsible for fake financial data:

The inner workings of a typical attack bot.
The core message of our research results is not the decimal in the figures but rather the realization that certain sectors of the financial markets (small and lower medium cap stocks, crypto assets) have a substantial fake trading problem which needs to be addressed.
It is obvious that this is not a problem exclusively limited to the crypto markets but unfortunately also appears to be a substantial issue in the stock markets, with small cap or lower medium cap stocks being the most affected sectors.
Trading bots are not difficult to come by. We found with limited effort not less than 67 providers of trading bots – all of them Russian. This does not mean that there are other nationalities involved as well, but it appears to be a Russian specialty. Also, most of these trading bots appear to date back to before the Russian invasion of the Ukraine, so any suggestion that they are part of the ongoing war, may be without substance. However, the dominantly Russian origin certainly raises more questions. It appears strange that the provenance of the discussed trading bots does not show a global distribution among different nationalities but is singularly concentrated.
Fake trading bots have metastasized into a not insignificant portion of crypto and small cap stock markets.
If a person at the same time is the largest buyer and seller in a certain stock or crypto asset – with or without trading bots, questions about the integrity and reliability of financial market data should be raised. In mathematics we refer to this type of conduct as zero sum trading, popularly also known as self-trading. The term “zero sum” is deceptive because in this game there is in fact one loser: the public and their trust into the integrity of the financial markets.
Based on certain statistical patterns – the possibility of a coordinated effort to undermine the integrity of a part of the global financial markets by the creators of trading bots should be further investigated. Further detailed studies into this problem are warranted.

Letters usage in grammar: C̦ is used instead of K when its between soft vowels but you can also use it normally. Y is used instead of J, when theres a hard consonant before or after, or if it's between vowels. Otherwise its normal usage. W is only used in the beginning of words (this doesnt apply to TW). CH is used instead of K when theres a soft vowel before it, if its not used instead then its a normal H. Ä is used instead of E if the E sound is next to a voiceless consonant, or it can be used normally as well. PH is used instead of F when you say a plural form of a word, but it can also be used normally or as a regular F sound. When theres a double Ć, D́, Ń, or T́ sound, then the first sound is written in its normal form, and the second in its variant form. For example: Jzźe (this also applies to TH and T̆H). CH marks the palatalization of the next vowel, but its also sometimes used as an H. A̦ is only used in loanwords, and cannot be pronounced as an /ɒ/ when the word contains A and/or its variations, However, if there is an A̦ then its pronounced as a regular A. Ë can only be used in a word with no vowels, and only between consonants, but if theres a double letter (for example: Dzakëma) then it can be used regardless.
Soft vowels: Ä ,A, E, I
Hard vowels: Ā, A̦, Ē, Ë, Ī, I̦, U, Ū, O, Ō, Ŏ, E̦
Soft consonants: P, C, F, KH, T, TZ, R, Z,
Hard consonants: Ć, C̦, CH D, D́, DZ, G, H, J, JZ, K, K̦, L, LZ, M, N, Ń, P, PH, Q, S, Ś, S̋, SH, T́, TW, TH, T̆H, V, W, X, X̦, Y, Y̆, Z̋, Ź, ZH
Rules: Pronounciation
Pronounciation of the alphabet: (in the order of the alphabet)
a aː æ ɒ b t͡s t͡ʃ k h/k d ɟ d͡z æ æː e/eː ə je f ɡ h i iː e j ɖ͡ʑ k cː kʰ l s m n ɲ o oː ø/øː p p͡h/f q ɾ s ʃ ʂ ʃ t c t͡ʷ θ ð t͡s u uː v w x s͡k i/j y/yː ʐ z ʒ ʒ
U becomes a VŎ if theres other vowels after it. For example:
"Uonne̦" is pronounced like "Vŏnne̦".
Ū becomes a long Ŏ.
For example:
"Palamūoki" is pronounced like "Palamŏki".
Long vowels between hard consonants aren't pronounced long. (But there are some exceptions)
For example: "Sēs" becomes "Ses".
In case of MN, only M is pronounced. In case of NM, inly N is pronounced.
H after a consonant isnt pronounced with some exceptions.
Between an L and P you pronounce an E between with some exceptions. (Same applies to L and T)
An S following a H is pronounced, but the H isnt.
An S following a soft vowel isnt pronounced, but there are exceptions.
If theres a vowel-consonant after a hard consonant at the end of a word, then the 2 letters arent pronounced, with some exceptions.
The following letters: U, O, E, I arent pronounced at the end of the word. (Except conjugation and exceptions)
E Ē and E̦ arent pronounced at the start of the word, but there are exceptions.
An S at the end of the word is pronounced as a Z, but if theres a hard vowel before it, then its pronounced normally with some exceptions.
PH is pronounced F when saying a plural form of a word, and its pronounced PH when the word is not conjugated.
an O before a consonant isnt pronounced with some exceptions.
Ä is always pronounced.
Long vowels at the start of the words arent always pronounced long.
Rules: Verbs.
Verb examples:
  1. To talk:
    • Root: C̦alt
    • Past: C̦alte
    • Future: C̦altū
  2. To eat:
    • Root: Māl
    • Past: Māle
    • Future: Mālū
  3. To dance:
    • Root: Rajz
    • Past: Rajze
    • Future: Rajzū
  4. To create:
    • Root: Falt
    • Past: Falte
    • Future: Faltū
Rules: Linking verbs
it: z̋as go/to go: źof am: ka with: iyiś foto: noba that/because of/and why: kett́a from (that something): tre̦yt̆ho it needs to be: t́aźiś If/then why: binu
If you are referring to a specific thing without naming it, then you can use "će̦pa".
Kett́a is used interchangeably, depending on context.
For "are/is/it is", you need to conjugate. For example: Gajtor(bad mood) - Gajtopkla (moody) Tēpe(mold) - Teypekla (moldy) Itver(wind/air) - Itvjerkla (windy)
The word "was" is the word "it" in a past form. The word "it" (Z̋as) and the Declaratibe mode of a word can be used interchangeably.
Nouns: there are 2 type of nouns: Imperative Mode: Used for giving commands or expressing requests. Declarative Mode: Simply stating information without emphasizing mood, also used for stating facts or making statements.
Nouns:
  1. Imperative Mode:
    • Command: C̦alya (talk!)
    • Command: Mālya (eat!)
    • Command: Rayzya (dance!)
    • Command: Faltya (create!)
  2. Declarative Mode:
    • Statement: C̦altē (it is talked)
    • Statement: Mālto (it is eaten)
    • Statement: Rayzē (it is danced)
    • Statement: Faltū (it is created)
Word Orders:
Enhancement: If your using positive, you can just sinply use the "komc̦i̦ pa", but if your using a word otherwise then you will add a "CÄ" ending. For example: Mess: "S̋all" - Really messing: "S̋allcä"
There's also neutral mode, in which Declarative mode is completely disregarded. Neutral mode is used when talking about something, and Declarative is when talking to somebody. However, you need to use Declarative mode when ypu describe how you do something. (For example in English: shopping.)
You only need to conjugate if your talking to someone, or telling a story or an observation of some kind. Anything else you need to use the word order.
Demonymic conjugations
For example:
Albańa- Albanon Serbska- Serbskon Mad́ar- Mad́un Frenq- Frena Rasi- Rason Ukrāijy- Ukrajyon
Pronouns: Person 1:Singular: Jzźa (I/me)Plural: Jzźaśa (we) Person 2:Singular: Jzźe (you)Plural: Jzźaśe (you all) Person 3:Singular: Z (he/she/it)Plural: Zaśa (they)
Person 1: Jzźäś (my) Person 2: Jzźäć (yours) Person 3: Zäś (theirs)
Person 1: Plural: Jzźaśaej (ours) Person 2: Plural: Jzźaśēj (y'alls) Person 3: Plural: Zaśaej (their alls)
Plural: When the word ends with a consonant, an E sound is added. For example: Eśt(apple) - Eśtä(apples) When the word ends with double consonants, then the E becomes an E̦, and deletes the last two consonants. For example: Sond(hedgehog) - Soe̦(hedgehogs) If it ends with a vowel, then you add either a BA(if talking about things, adjectives, etc...) or a BE(when talking about names). For example: Cazett́ā(lamp) - Cazett́aba(lamps) Kriśtafon(Christopher) - Kriśtafonbe(Christophers)
Rules: If a word ends with a vowel, then it lengthens the consonant before it. For example:
"T̆home" is pronounced "t̆homm"
Affirmative & Negative: The ending -iyo is added for negative which sometimes changes the word.
Examples:
Bave(did) - Baviyo(didnt)
Chape̦re(cooking) Chaperiyo(not cooking)
Affirmative is simply just either Declarative and Operative mode.
Example text 1:

I think sa offmychestPH ni siya pero mas nindor man i-post og bisaya😅
I have this aunt who was born and grew up in the US kay my grand dad's family are americans. So kani na aunt nako nicomment siya sa ako isa ka aunt na naa nasad sa US pero born in PH pero dugay nasad niadto US.
So kato first aunt nako ni comment "How can they [my sister and I] get to travel in Europe yearly daw in business class pajud daw".
On the other hand, on my mother's side kay mga well off jud - real estate properties sa mga kalolohan pa jud na time.
Pero I sometimes get the notion na mostly sa mga older Fil-Ams see Pinoys sa PH as poor. When we travelled together with my classmates last year sa Iceland, naa jud reaction kani older FilAms na "You managed to get here in Iceland?" With judgment jud ang tone. Never encountered it natives though.

2024.04.14 16:40 Boring_Try3514 Real numbers, what are the pH, TA and ppm(bromine tub) I want to be aiming for?

I'm at 50/60 TA, 7.3pH and 4/5ppm bromine. Water is clear, no discernable color I can see, but I'm told my color-sense is a bit whacked, no odor or very little.
I'm very new to the hot tub life, it's an inflatable SaluSpa, 177 gallon. I got this as a primer to see if I'm going to have the patience/stick-to-it to justify a proper hard-sided tub with real jets. I have a mild degenerative spinal issue and soaking in hot water with powerful jets is just blissful for me.
I've poked and prodded around the 'net and found many sites that espouse to have the magic formula for ease of maintenance and what numbers to set my sights on for clean and healthy water. I see some sites say that 60 TA is asking for wild swings in pH, while some say that 90 is too high. pH is a lot easier for me to wrap my head around, too low or too high is just begging for nasty chemical reactions, so keep it close to neutral so it's easy to prevent catalyzing some sort of witches brew in the tub. The TA, as I understand it, is just a cushion to ameliorate reactions, keep it on one side of the equation and it's a buffer. Not too hard to grasp. Bromine is easy too, keep it lower than 10ppm as the very highest and above zero otherwise it's a petri-dish.
My use case is likely a dream come true for folks who maintain tubs for a living. I always shower prior to entering, I use Dawn as my main soap and rinse very well. I also don't wear a bathing suit, the tub is on a covered porch on the back of my house and there are no sight lines into my backyard, I live in the sticks anyways. So I drag very little contaminants into the water, use it maybe twice a day for 20-30 mins at a stretch. I shock it every 2 weeks or so with dichlor(I have a good scale to weigh out the proper amount). I keep a floaty with bromine tabs in the water.
Essentially, what is dead-nuts center-of-the-road value for TA, pH, and free bromine? I'm using the Taylor kit with 8 different vials for bromine/chlorine, pH, and TA, think there is an acid demand test too.
