As we have all been watching carefully the last few month, and within the last few weeks there has been a steady hyping up for the new Expansion Equinox.
I would like to start asking a few different questions, because I see a few interesting issues that have cropped up in the CCP streams. Which raises more than a few interesting questions.
How does Equinox shifting to Skyhook and the new resource system help the game from a Strategic viewpoint? I do have a concern that the Equinox suite of options will add alot of problems into the game. One being the concept that Nullsec Empire Sprawl might give members of the "Blue Donut" way too much power and resources. While basically shutting out any new groups from ever getting a foothold in nullsec. It might also make Sov control and management too powerful for those who have Third Party functionalities that could be used to simplify the attempted complexities of the games new expansion.
The new changes, have some eyebrows raised on territorial control, which means alot of smaller groups will never own sov space, especially if the "left overs" suddenly become very valuable for a "Blue Donut" operators who will not tolerate any especially high value systems not being in their control.
I personally believe the new system, if new groups or opposition isn't leveled during the "grace period" of the swap over. Will further entrench "Blue Donut" stranglehold on nullsec, and gatekeep in a literal sense any new attempts to take sov space.
Does Equinox undo some of the attempts of Scarcity to redress some of the imbalance of manufacturing and resources? From what I can see, as of the current situation; it appears that Equinox suite will allow Nullsec to "decouple" from the rest of the game. Meaning Nullsec no longer has to interact with the rest of the game and trade and move goods between Null/Pochven/WH/Low/Highsec/FW. Where as Scarcity did create a wider net of interlocking economy, well with Nullsec kind of bypassing this with Pochven if you consider it. But, the rest of the game will be left in a state more or less within Scarcity Rule Sets. [Which I believe is not beneficial for long term health of game.]
The current concept of personalization of Equinox suite affected space to various minerals will have a negative effect in the long term with mining and manufacturing. And there is a little bit of some concern how many of these changes will also affect different areas of space. CCP has been adament that POCOs will not be replaced by Skyhooks, but that certain assets of Equinox will be able to interact in lowsec without the Equinox logistics base. Their reasoning is in order to run the lowsec automated mining drills; you will have to go out into Nullsec to steal reagents and fuels for the lowsec materials.
Yes, CCP has made the note that automated drills vs. mining stations with moon drills will have pros/cons. [Generally Mining Station Moon Drills will have more resources, vs. automated drills.] But, I think that argument will become a moot point when the vast majority of the moons are literally infested by a monopoly cartel of automated moon drills. And players can't interact with the mining station moon drill in most space...over 0.5. And most groups will consider the automated drills as a better investment over the long term...because they can be replaced easier than a mining station. [Which will cause a Positive Feedback Loop in game probably causing issues in the future with people not using the Mining Stations.]
I personally think the Automatic Mining Drill should only be deployed where a Mining station as been placed. And then the Station tractors the the mine cans from the automated drill to the station in question. So you have a target to interdict, and destroying the automatic drill will interrupt activity; and the economic cost of deploying both assets together will help offset but force a choice of the use of the mining station between automated drill and manual moon drill.
Is forced Engagement in Content a good Idea in game? I do not believe so, We saw alot of people disliking the ESS mechanics; and this having knock on effects in game with the population. The ESS scram bubble did kind of narrow alot of activity to cruisers and above. Which killed some content for alot of players. And then the meta became very specific ships were fitted for the ESS, which also shows a narrowing of content options and ideas. The Keys for the ESS reserve bank, were then used in a way to actually "cash out" many alliances materials. Instead of driving content.
In Equinox we are going to take this same concept, but now apply it to a wide variety of materials in the game. Skyhook and Automate Drills will now have a variant of the ESS mechanics that will stick people to the grid and speed debuff them. If you are having to force people to interact with content, and make content feel artificially forced, some people will refused to engage with the same materials. Now if the new "ESS Light" interactives are always on, that will be a turn off for alot of peoples interaction with the new materials. Now if its only triggered by hacking/damaging specific items for the Skyhook or Drill, some people will try the content. But it will become too much of a burden and then people will probably get frustrated with it. There is also the fact that, once people understand how this material works...some people will use it to harrass all around the clock various alliances with reports/warnings of attacks. Psychologically wearing down groups who might not be able to respond in any meaningful way in and outside of their timezone.
What is the Strategic Implications of the New Upwell Haulers?
Several layers of problems with the concept from the get go. Apparently this idea was built more around PVP, then actual PVE and Defense. These new ships will be preferred for both moving the materials and stealing them from your rivals. However, the infrastructure bay has added a huge problem into the mix. Projection. And Projection of power, that if left unchecked could be highly destabilizing to the game.
If you guys were listening to the CCP stream. We are dealing with a serious strategic/tactical oversight pertaining to these haulers. The new upwell haulers are literally an unlimited supply of storage and literally a nuclear proliferation of station deployment. You can now deploy a variety of infrastructure depending on tier of the Upwell Hauler.
The Squall especially will be an annoyance. Why? Consider the fact that an Astrauhaus is 8000m3 and its core is about 500m3. a fuel block is 5m3. You can cram a Squall with 6 Astrahaus 6 Cores + whatever fuel you prefer. Now this can be further tweaked depending on what modules you want to deploy. 3 Astrahaus with defensive modules + cores + fuel seems reasonable. And the ammunition is stored in the 3000m3 cargo bay.
And this is just ONE Squall. Consider whole fleets of them? Can you stop them intruding in WH space? can you stop them log off camping a system in low or null or WH with a station aboard? You try to get into wormhole space as a new corp and you finally find that little slice of WH space no one seems to be at home...you deploy your first astrahaus, everything is ready to go. Everything seems fine...then after you have logged the OPFOR logs in...drops their Astrahaus or other station and you are just going to get riddled before you even start. And this is just T1 option.
Now the problem begins to compound with the Deluge the Upwell Blockade Runner. Cov Ops, Covert Cyno, Can Be Bridged...and can carry infrastructure. Okay who at CCP was smoking the fun stick? Do you not realize you basically created the perfect self-sustaining BLOP force? Prospect, Cov Ops, BLOPS, T3C, and the Deluge as a team. They can literally Genghis Khan the whole map if they want. Bypassing enemy territory defenses, bouncing around the map. And if need be setting up stations for temporary respite and refueling or logistics if necessary. The Deluge can carry again around 3 Astrahaus and their Cores + Fuel. Ammunition/Consumables + fuel for the Cyno can be in the 4000m3 cargo. [Note that if players tinker with this ship a bit...the self-sustainment of this option becomes a very interesting problem for balance]
Torrent is another interesting little problem in its own right. CCP did say they "downgraded" the Torrent to 90,000m3. [CCP Bee...you forgot to click on the ship after you were inside it...so the stats were not showing accurately on the attributes of the info card. And simulation mode only shows base stats for the ship if you were to info the ship hull in the simulation.] So Sotiyos, Fortizars are capable of being moved. [The only major question is how large is the fleet hold of this particular DST...because if its over 50,000m3. The CSM "Concerns" have been basically made pointless + any left over space will be for fuel blocks and consumables. In cargo bay and the fleet bay and infrastructure bay. But this ship can carry even more Astrahaus and so the pressure tactics using the Upwell ships begins to escalate.
Avalanche...he he...sweats...accurate name...horrifically not thought out. 3,000,000m3 infrastructure bay. 3 Keepstars...+ Cores. And Modules...+ Fuel. At max level. I am not sure if CCP is considering the fact that players will not use these for reagents as they were designed as much...as literally EVEs equivalent of a Marine Landing Craft Carrier. An Avalanche can carry 3 Keepstars/Sotiyo + Cores. Or 20 Fortizars/Tatara/Azbel + Cores.
But the really insane part of this whole scenario. 375 Astrahaus/Raitaru/Athanor + Cores can be deployed without batting an eye. Can you say a structure spam campaign? Literally an Avalanche of Medium Upwell Structures. And this is just one Avalanche...just think about your system being invaded by an Avalanche and all the little smaller Upwell Haulers...Structure Spam Galoore. If you don't kill it fast enough, you are in for a world of hurt...oh and did I forget to tell you the BLOPS were going to start dropping in because of Covert Cyno Support from one of the Deluge? Now you have two problems...better hope a cyno doesn't light....FRAG...here comes the Titans/Carriers/Dreads...and everything else. This might be a bit overkill and unbalanced to say the least.
What is the effects of the Upwell Haulers in Highsec and Lowsec?
If you think the scenario above is a bit concerning, the next step is the fact the Upwell Haulers are tanky and have a very "friendly" amount of missile functionality for their class.
I have a feeling the Ganking community is in for some really tough days ahead. I think the gankers are going to have to upgrade their ships to ABCs, and hopefully they won't be forced into ganking Battleships but you don't know with the current situation.
I can see the Upwell Ships easily replacing alot of the other hauling ships over time for hauling services. Just because the capability to fire back at their attackers and the ability to withstand alot of threats outright might be a bit too much.
Now the most interesting question will be will these ship also destabilize mission running, PVE, and to a limited extent PVP [especially in the baiting PVP sphere.]
The problem will be the ganking community might have a laugh initially at the first few Upwell Haulers as they come online, but when convoys of these ships start showing up in en mass on the space lanes of New Eden. The Cost to Benefit ratios will begin to tip into the Haulers favor. You might as well donate free extra loot to the haulers depending on the fits there of deployed.
And these new ships might be more problematic for the overall health of the ship ecosystem as people will abandon the traditional haulers for something that can shoot back and possibly survive the gankers...loving attentions. This might also spark a massive amount of requests for upgrades and updating the older hauler hulls inline with the Upwell Haulers which might have further negative effects on the ganking community as a whole.
The ability for these new ships to fight back, and even possibly call reinforcements will probably dissuade some players from engaging them just because they don't want to be PVP zkill by a hauler. But I think CCP isn't considering the full ramifications of these new ships and how it is fully possible for these ships to complete unbalance the game further than just the changes in Equinox Sov Mechanics.
I Urge Caution on this subject at all costs. And that the CSM maybe consider and discuss the math of infrastructure that can be deployed by these ships en mass. And how this could have severe negative effects if not carefully considered. It might require a Nerf of the packaged size of Upwell Stations to dissuade Structure Spam as a tactic in nullsec especially but in all other spaces...except Pochven. [structure limitations currently imposed.]

2024.05.20 15:39 walrusbukit John Deere S170 broke after 0.9 hours and I am considering returning and getting a Cub Cadet XT1 LT50.
This is the first brand new mower I have ever purchased. Over the past 12 years I have gone through 3 used mowers. The transmission went out last week on my 2008 broadmoor so I decided to get something brand new that would hopefully last 10+ years and I wouldn't have to deal with stuff breaking. I went with the s170 with the 24hp engine and upgraded tires and transmission. I already have a 1025r compact tractor and wanted to stay in the JD brand family. I really was pleased with the power speed and turn radius until it stopped moving for me less than 1 hour into my mow. My initial thought was that the transmission went out again but I was able to discover that the drive belt just slipped off the transmission pulley, which caused the transmission cooling fan to snap off. I cannot pop the belt back into the pulley because the guide post is interfering. The guide post is supposed to keep the belt in place, which also makes me wonder how the belt came off in the first place?
I am waiting to discuss this issue with the dealer. I know they will fix it under the 2 year warranty but I will have to haul it in and wait who knows how long for it to be fixed. I also wonder if this belt is just going to slip off every 1 hour of usage? This is so frustrating because the whole reason I purchased brand new is so I wouldn't have to deal with broken down mowers anymore. For this reason I am either going to request they replace this unit with a different s170 or I am going to return it and get a Cub Cadet XT1 LT50. What would you do?

Do I really have to upgrade to a bigger model like the X584 (K72 transmission)? I’m afraid of killing the transmission while using the tractor on the slopes, and a new transmission costs $1,500.
As an alternative, I have seen the Kubota GR1600II: excessive or justified? Would the Kubota be worth the money? The JD would cost $7,500, and the Kubota $10,000.

I’d hoped I could get by with a riding mower for a few years to delay the $$ for a zero turn due to money being spent on a garage and finishing the basement too right now. I have been playing FT2 for few days with a friend and thoroughly enjoying it. We have about 21 hours and a level 57 farm and have almost all crops unlocked but still quite a way to go. These are some suggestions we have for the devs. Tbf I have not played FT1 and don't know if these were a thing in the first one:

- Ability to sell Bamboo in the town: We max out on the bamboo but only can use it for paintings, so if we could sell them, that would be great
- Ability to fast travel from the town to other fast travel points: Minor point, where if you're harvesting and are full, decide to go sell the crops, coming back is slightly inconvenient when you need to travel twice to get back to the field you were at
- Tractor Upgrade: Ability to use money/ribbons/gems to reduce the fuel consumption, or increase speed etc would be cool
- Timer in map view: We have a pretty large farm now, and we manage that with some long term and short term crops, so having a way to see how much estimated time left in the map would be amazing
- More stuff: Recipes, painting, clothes, stores, animals ... (But I assume this would be on the dev list anyway)

Never managed to figure out the talk about chains and buying lti to upgrade etc.
If I buy the new little tractor with its LTI. Does that mean if I then upg it to a taurus, my new taurus will inherit the life time insurance?

So me and my best friend played the 1st game at the beginning of covid and we become addicted. We spent hours upon hours playing. Well the same is true for the second game. So far be both have clocked over 100 hours actively playing the game and we have are farm up to level 110 with . While Playing I had some ideas for things in the game that I hope my be helpful for the development team.
-Hardwear store in the town:
This shop would be used to upgrade things like Tractor Speed, Farm Hands Area Range ( when/if they are brought to the second game)

Feeders:
When Harvesting farm animals change it to be like harvesting fish so I only have to hit the button once to harvest all the ones that are connected. Would make life more enjoyable not to have to cover so much land since we do that with flowers ,crops, and trees.

- Change the way the feeders work by when you go to feed a screen pops up with a side bar allowing you to put a certain amount in the Feeders.
- Add a way to see the the capacity of each feeder with either a number amount or %.
- Add A way to upgrade the capacity of the feeders so i don't need so many on one pen.

Hey guys! I need to hear your opinions and im sorry if this is a stupid question but maybe someone with similar experiences and thoughts is here.
So im about to get myself a new Bike and the Crf300l Have caught my eye. I Have had a year off from riding and its time to get back :) Will mostly ride gravel roads and dip in on the trails and tractor roads i find, so lots of exploring. Also ride some of the Enduro trails around here from time to time.
My previous bikes in this order - rmz250, drz400 motard, xr650r, xr650r motard, ktm 690 motard, Triumph street triple.. Then the last maybe 3-4 years i only rode enduro on a exc450, then wr250f then last a TM 144 2 stroke wich was the last Bike i had.
I Have enough in my budget to upgrade the suspension (looking at rally raid) and do the 550 ecu, airlid mod,velocity stack and full exhaust from day one.
So with this is mind, do you think this is the right Bike? I cant test ride one it seems so im a little worried that it still will feel a little slow.. Most of the trails are slow and technical forest stuf with lots of Stones and ruts. I dont ride on any big roads here in Sweden most of them are 70-80 kmh when tarmac..
Any insight would be appreciated and sorry for my bad English.

The Communist captain gave me a disgusted look, but then I realized it wasn't me that caused him such disgust, but my bride behind me. I closed the comms channel. xenophobic dickhead.
The tractor beam interrupted the functioning of the gravity plates that had been installed in our brand new two hundred year old ship. They were supposed to work without power for at least twenty minutes. I had paid some attention to the briefing on the ship's systems, just not... really good attention, which was regretting Nyany let out yelp of surprise. She hadn't spent months in zero g training. I grabbed her hand and since I was still bolted to the pilot's seat I easily helped her into her seat where she strapped in.
"Thanks," She smiled at me and blinked slowly. "It's been a couple centuries since my zero-g training. Felidians do not do well in zero gravity."
We sat there for a moment holding hands, getting pulled toward the big grey communist warship, watching in silent horror. I squeezed her hand, and she squeezed back.
And then from every speaker in the cockpit, an alarm started to blare.
Torpedo Alert
A high speed flash of red, I'm guessing the torpedo, smashed into the great grey slab. It came from behind and above us, and very very close. The torpedo lodged right in the protruding tractor beam emitter, disabling it before it exploded.
The explosion rocked us backward and shook our relatively small craft.
Another torpedo seemed to come from our ship and hit the communist ship in the open hole the first one made before it too detonated. Then a visible energy shield appeared around the great warship.
We received a hail from... I hoped whoever was shooting torpedoes at the commies, the computer couldn't identify the source.
Much to my surprise when the viewscreen turned on it was Terriphany, she had clearly aged, but it was very much obviously her. I thought only tortoises lived to extreme ages, but what do I know about xenobiology.
"Terriphany, I assume you're the one who turned off that tractor beam for us?" I never expected to be so genuinely glad to see a woman I had been such as ass in front of.
"No time to explain, standby for coupling." There was a clang on our outer hull and her ship coupled to mine on the docking port.
"Captain Davis, Nyany, whoever is flying up there? Those communist humans are only gonna be disabled for so long. Be a dear and start flying us the hell away from here!" She sounded older too, but determined in a way the young woman from the hot tub hadn't.
Nyany grabbed the yoke in the co-pilot's seat and took control, she punched the throttle full forward and we dove away from our attacker. She aimed us toward the Earth, we had dropped out of the RarDrive at the L1 point between the Earth and Moon. My god, the Earth. It was a covered in a thick grey cloud from pole to pole. What happened? It wasn't this bad two hundred years ago.
As I sat there bewildered at the state of my homeworld, the hatch opened and a handful of slightly-more-human-looking-than Terriphany turtle people dropped in. I was at once reminded of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles...
"Hi Dad, Nice to meet you." The first one said. He had a thick bundle of cables in his very human looking hand as he leaned over the seat I was in, and popped open the console to quickly plugged it in. "We're good Mom!"
"Standby..." Terriphany talked past Nyany and me to, I guess our son? While she pressed a few commands on her console. "Alright, Nyany, could you aim us where that navicom is suggesting, and then push that big red button for us."
She aimed the ship up from my now grey world, and over the horizon. Nyany looked at me, and I nodded. She hit the button and a Rainbow assaulted us.
"Owww Fuck!" Said the adult turtle-man standing behind me.
"Leonardo, Language!" His mother chided over the intercom. "Now, come help your old mother down into that ship. I want to explain myself to your father."
Nyany and I got out of our seats. When I was on my feet the need to slap myself in the face with both hands. Nope. Awake.
"Are you okay?" Nyany's tail said she was no edge. I could hardly blame her. That was a very wild few seconds, and now we were off again, but with a bunch of turtle-people we'd never met before calling me Dad. I'm on edge too.
"No... who would be okay right now? I'm pretty far from okay." I am honest. "But I think maybe, eventually I'll be okay. It's just... a lot to process. We almost died."

Artemisia has laid a clutch that she made with her mate, Chelon. Donatello has yet to find a mate, we all hope he can do so in whatever future we find ourselves in."
Everyone waved one at a time and when she was done speaking, I nearly lost my legs. Nyany helped me find a chair. "Get him some water, please."
Sofonisba brought a glass to me. She looks a lot like me, how can a turtle person look so much like me. What the fuck Disney-corp, Captain Tanner, whichever of them was responsible for this... I actually needed to thank. My surprise family had really pulled my ass out of the fire. I splash myself in the face with the glass of water more than I drink it, but I did swallow a little in the process.
"Okay, so that's a lot. I have questions."

"Disney paid Mom plenty." Rembrandt said.
"Turtin' along with Terriphany, yes." Sofonisba said. "It put us all through college. Phd's the lot of us."

"...carried on the tradition afterward, I guess." Sofonisba took responsibility for naming her own children in the same fashion."
Terriphany's tone took a dire note when she answered his only remaining unanswered question. "As for old Disney corp... well, they fully captured the galactic government when they went properly interspecies in their executive level. It's the Disney Way now, not the Milky Way. Humanity on Earth rebelled against Disney rule and after it was deemed the citizens had too much hope to be properly profitable for the company, the planet was bombarded from space. Most of humanity retreated violently from capitalism after the blanketing of earth in that grey fog."
Nyany was smarter than me, she asked a very good question, "So why did they try to take us alive, and not just blast us out of existence while we crawled around the solar system at near light speed?
"Oh, because the RarDrive is a bomb that will wipe out half the solar system in a single massive explosion if it's disengaged early. Old Disney was smart and vicious. This is all in your contract Captain Davis, did you not read any of it?"
"People from my time don't really fully read contracts. Just press accept or sign and assume its fine."
"That explains why the kids are such a surprise to you. I wasn't the only one you know..." She hook her head in disbelief. "The other reason to not explode you, is that you are the richest single person in the galaxy. Captain Tanner invested a small portion of your funds into buying a rather intelligent investment AI to manage your resources, and it smartly paid to upgrade itself. As a result, It the we left your AI and Disney Corp were engaged in galaxy wide commercial and financial warfare, as well as some actual warfare in terms of proxy wards. Half the galaxy thinks of you as a hero, an the other half a villain."
Nyany gave me a little shake and whispered in my ear. "Earlier when I said It was hundreds of years since my Zero-g training, I meant... from my point of view. I'm four hundred and twelve earth years old." I think she realized I hadn't properly read her bio before starting the show, but I had, it said she was twenty seven, which I now realize must have been her planet's years.
"So... now what?" I asked again.
Terriphany smiled in her turtle way, "Well If the rumors are true, then only the living Relic, Captain Davis, In other words, You, my dear baby-daddy, can take command of the AI and give it new instructions. Its current objective is to "maximize profit for Captain Davis" and the main hub will hopefully still be at the star system about two hundred light years away that we're headed to at a turtle's pace. Feel free to take some time to think about what you want to do with that information, but I'll tell you what I think you should do if you want."
"Hit me, Terri."
She smiled, and I could almost see that twenty four year old turtle girl in the hot tub again. God I was such as ass. "I think you should tell it make the star trek future actually happen."
"Yea, I think I will."
A pretty good day later, we smashed through the rainbow above a beautiful blue-green orb.

The tractor beam interrupted the functioning of the gravity plates that had been installed in our brand new two hundred year old ship. They were supposed to work without power for at least twenty minutes. I had paid some attention to the briefing on the ship's systems, just not... really good attention, which was regretting Nyany let out yelp of surprise. She hadn't spent months in zero g training. I grabbed her hand and since I was still bolted to the pilot's seat I easily helped her into her seat where she strapped in.
"Thanks," She smiled at me and blinked slowly. "It's been a couple centuries since my zero-g training. Felidians do not do well in zero gravity."
We sat there for a moment holding hands, getting pulled toward the big grey communist warship, watching in silent horror. I squeezed her hand, and she squeezed back.
And then from every speaker in the cockpit, an alarm started to blare.
Torpedo Alert
A high speed flash of red, I'm guessing the torpedo, smashed into the great grey slab. It came from behind and above us, and very very close. The torpedo lodged right in the protruding tractor beam emitter, disabling it before it exploded.
The explosion rocked us backward and shook our relatively small craft.
Another torpedo seemed to come from our ship and hit the communist ship in the open hole the first one made before it too detonated. Then a visible energy shield appeared around the great warship.
We received a hail from... I hoped whoever was shooting torpedoes at the commies, the computer couldn't identify the source.
Much to my surprise when the viewscreen turned on it was Terriphany, she had clearly aged, but it was very much obviously her. I thought only tortoises lived to extreme ages, but what do I know about xenobiology.
"Terriphany, I assume you're the one who turned off that tractor beam for us?" I never expected to be so genuinely glad to see a woman I had been such as ass in front of.
"No time to explain, standby for coupling." There was a clang on our outer hull and her ship coupled to mine on the docking port.
"Captain Davis, Nyany, whoever is flying up there? Those communist humans are only gonna be disabled for so long. Be a dear and start flying us the hell away from here!" She sounded older too, but determined in a way the young woman from the hot tub hadn't.
Nyany grabbed the yoke in the co-pilot's seat and took control, she punched the throttle full forward and we dove away from our attacker. She aimed us toward the Earth, we had dropped out of the RarDrive at the L1 point between the Earth and Moon. My god, the Earth. It was a covered in a thick grey cloud from pole to pole. What happened? It wasn't this bad two hundred years ago.
As I sat there bewildered at the state of my homeworld, the hatch opened and a handful of slightly-more-human-looking-than Terriphany turtle people dropped in. I was at once reminded of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles...
"Hi Dad, Nice to meet you." The first one said. He had a thick bundle of cables in his very human looking hand as he leaned over the seat I was in, and popped open the console to quickly plugged it in. "We're good Mom!"
"Standby..." Terriphany talked past Nyany and me to, I guess our son? While she pressed a few commands on her console. "Alright, Nyany, could you aim us where that navicom is suggesting, and then push that big red button for us."
She aimed the ship up from my now grey world, and over the horizon. Nyany looked at me, and I nodded. She hit the button and a Rainbow assaulted us.
"Owww Fuck!" Said the adult turtle-man standing behind me.
"Leonardo, Language!" His mother chided over the intercom. "Now, come help your old mother down into that ship. I want to explain myself to your father."
Nyany and I got out of our seats. When I was on my feet the need to slap myself in the face with both hands. Nope. Awake.
"Are you okay?" Nyany's tail said she was no edge. I could hardly blame her. That was a very wild few seconds, and now we were off again, but with a bunch of turtle-people we'd never met before calling me Dad. I'm on edge too.
"No... who would be okay right now? I'm pretty far from okay." I am honest. "But I think maybe, eventually I'll be okay. It's just... a lot to process. We almost died."

Hi Everyone!
My cousin recently bought a K66 upgrade kit from RJR Tractor for his JD X350, but unfortunately lost the manual for it. They want to charge him $30 plus shipping for a new one instead of just sending one electronically which seems a little absurd to me. Would anyone here happen to have an electronic copy of this manual or know where to find one?

Don't take contracts. You CAN make a profit but there's a better way.
Use a stock Vulture to start. The only upgrade you need is to replace the tractor beam with another Abrade tip. Feel free to sell the 2 Cinches if you want. This isn't essential but it makes it quicker and eassier while still getting you a lot of cash.
Go to ANY Lagrange point. Those are the HUR-L1, CRU-L1, ARC-L1, MIC-L1 locations on the map. They don't have to be the L1 specifically, they can be ANY of the L-whatever.
Hit "tab" and look for just a bunch of asteroids. Truly just pick a direction and fly. I just boost till I'm out and then stop.
Scan for panels. Pres "V" to engage scanning mode. It will have 2 crescent bars to the left and right of your center reticle. Hit tab to "ping". You will see "unknown" clusters of dots pop up randomly. While stationary just look around in all direction and center your reticle on each one. To the right and slightly above the crescents around your center reticle it will have a little readout with numbers. You want ANY number divisible by 2000. So you are looking for numbers like 6000, 8000, 12000 and anything else that matches that. Then fly at it hammering that tab button like it owes you money!
If you want to get fancy "mouse wheel up" to increase your scanning power when looking at the cloud of dots that's divisible by 2000. You don't NEED to, but feel fancy and like a techie and do it. You will see some tag looking upside down teardrops appear. Those show the exact locations of panels.
Fly directly at the panels (you won't explode... normally). The panels will vanish in SC 10/10 fashion when you are like 4-5k out from them. When you get to this point lazily hit the "N" key to engage your magical space brake/landing gear and "slow boat" it towards the last known location of those upside down tear drops.
WATCH YOUR HUD. In the middle it will say "collision" in red, if you see that... stop. A panel will appear and as you move around the others panels you saw before will reappear magically. Skin those with your double Abrade tips. Make sure you go down below when you max out the buffer and jankily stack your boxes using a multi-tool tractor beam attachment. If you are a cool kid you can stack about 22-25 boxes in an extremely dangerous and typical SC way. Just stack like 12-13 your first time so you don't blow up.
Then go sell your boxes of shittily stacked RMC at any PLANETS (not moon or station) TDD.
You will make good money. Not fantastic, not the best money/hr. However you will be an industrial, blue collar scumbag like me and doing only this you can casually make a mil in a day. It's kinda slow... kinda boring... but I'm old... so it works.
Pro tip. Salvage a shit load and load it into your cargo hold all janky like. Then keep salvaging and fill your buffer back to the 13. Go sell your shit stack and then call your ship back, fly out of armistice range, pull the remaining 13 out and stack them slightly less shittily and go back to the port to sell the rest. You will make like 3-4 hundred k per run doing this. Or more, I can't be asked to do the math but is decent. Also you are in a small shitty ship so anyone who pirates you is a small time piece of shit and I hope their kids never learn to read.
Money.

Edit 2: OK jesus I'm sick of typing it. YES SOMETIMES YOU CAN GET THE TRACTOR BEAM TO WORK IN THE HANGAR. However I've had it NOT work way more than I've had it actually work for me. I do know however that it works 100% of the time outside of Armistace. So do try it when jumping in your ship and if it works, sweet you saved some time. If not, don't fret, just fly up a bit, do it and fly back down.
