2024.01.24 15:01 FashionBusking Theory: their coffee shop and wine bar is their operating capital

The labels on these coffee runs bug me.
I think that's... their income at this point. I've long theorized they were broke bitches. Alec famously took buyouts for his last major projects, so he's not getting residual income from things like 30 Rock. He's settled the Hutchins civil suit, for a likely princely sum. He's got several other criminal and civil cases in a diversity of jurisdictions.. which ain't cheap.
So this coffee shop and wine bar are it for ongoing income, methinks. It's got location on his side for both. Keep and overwork a small, starstruck staff, have them sign NDA's, and you've got a decent income. My friends inherited and (IMO mismanage) a coffee shop in an ideal spot in Bronx... they still manage to rake in $1.5M a year. People don't buy my friends coffee because it's good coffee, it's just that it's next to a subway exit.
To see Alec Baldwin debase himself as a pedestrian zoo animal to attract pictures and ink outside of his shops for free publicity is true karma.
Suddenly mister "Don't chase me paparazzi! Imma punch you!" has become dependent on staged paparazzi pix with his skanky wife in front of their coffee shop because they can't afford actual marketing.
On top of this, I don't think the Hillary and Alec Baldwin Foundation are writing anywhere NEAR as many checks-for-red-carpet-pix appearances.
It's kind of an open secret that Alec Baldwin was buying his way into prestige for years by paying top dollar. He's still doing that... but now he's doing shit like that one film fest seeminguy held in a dead mall... Syracuse film or something...? He PAID to be center of attention for that.
He tried making a buck off his podcast live events. Most of those tix didn't sell. Turns out, negligent murderers don't quite pull in the crowds.
Anyways, that's my theory! Will this come up in future filings? Maybe. Maybe not.
Thoughts?

2023.08.16 13:47 SignGuy77 [Toronto Island Coaster] is MINE! A National Coaster Day Eve Trip Report from [Centreville Amusement Park] (08/15/2023)

[Toronto Island Coaster] is MINE! A National Coaster Day Eve Trip Report from [Centreville Amusement Park] (08/15/2023)
Perfect schedule makers would have had me making this momentous trek on actual National Rollercoaster Day. But a few good friends of mine picked this date for a Blue Jays game to attend together, and not wanting to make two separate trips downtown Toronto, we decided to combine the two events into one loooong day.
As of this writing, Toronto Island Mine Coaster is my final permanently installed coaster credit in Ontario. And it’s the first ever coaster I did not use my car to get to from my house. My son and I arrived at Center Island via a combo of bus, train, a whole bunch of walking, and a water taxi. We contemplated renting one of the downtown bikes for just a block, but decided that posing on the sculpture bike with Jack Layton in front of the ferry terminal was just as good.
We got to the island past 10:30, just as the small amusement park at its creamy center was opening up. We had no designs on riding more than the coaster and the log flume, so $36 was all we needed for 24 tickets to accomplish this goal. And rope dropping Mine Coaster as we did, we benefited from an empty queue and an amenable ride op who let us enjoy a second two-lap cycle without giving up another six tix each.
The ride itself is very smooth, and navigates its bunny hills and helices with less of the Miler jank than we expected, and heck, less than we wanted. But it certainly was fun, with a curving 16 foot first drop, and the target audience of kiddos that arrived soon after us definitely enjoyed it too.
We snagged the log flume next, and though we didn’t need a big splash on this overcast and cooler morning, we got hardly a misting. The wake of the water taxi coming to the island provided more.
A couple extra hours were spent on the island, exploring the hiking trails, the pier, and the rest of the rides at the park (they have an indoor Scrambler!). We had lunch out of our backpack and made our way back to the mainland via the ferry (return trip is free) for some more downtown sight seeing. CN Tower was slammed today (we’d been before), so we made a return pilgrimage to the giant outdoor train museum at the foot of the tower. The mini powered mine train was not running, alas.
Our friends met us mid-afternoon and after a brief detour to see the Jose Bautista bat flip mural on Spadina Ave, we had early dinner, leaving enough room for Loonie ($1) Hot Dog night at the ballpark. The dome roof was closed for my son’s first ever baseball game, but the Jays beat the Phillies 2-1 with Jordan Romano locking down the save in dominant fashion.
Centreville better not announce a giga today, because my whole body is aching

2023.06.12 21:16 virtualbeggar Please support the 2nd Annual Sheffield Craft Cider (+ Mead) Festival!

Hi everyone. Mike Pomranz here. I used to own The Cider Hole. I am opening The Old Shoe bar in Orchard Square. I make Exemption Ciderhouse cider from Sheffield garden apples. I run a comedy open mic. I'm in the band Pancho Grande. I have all sorts of reasons to bother people on Reddit!
Today, I want to let you know about the 2nd Annual Sheffield Craft Cider (+ Mead) Festival taking place on Saturday 15 July 2023 at the Heist Brew Co Taproom.
Tickets for the event are now on sale: FIND THEM HERE.
I held the event for the first time last year to help introduce our city to some of the best artisan cideries from around the UK. This year, not only are we back with some really top names, we're also adding mead into the mix!
Cideries confirmed to attend are...
And then for mead, we have locally-produced mead from Sheffield Mead and an incredible global mead selection from the independent Manchester craft beer shop, Joule.
Unlike last year, this year's event has a limited number of tickets for entry. But these tix are just £7.50 which includes a free festival glass and a free first pour. After that, the event is pay-as-you-go with all the cideries and meaderies offering small and affordable tasting pours.
Additionally, for non-cider and mead fans, Heist Brew Co Taproom will be open as usual from noon until midnight serving their full range of beers -- so bring your less adventurous friends along as well! :D
The event is kid-friendly until 9pm. Dogs are always welcome.
The response we got last year from the cidermakers was incredible. I've created this event to not only support independent makers, but also show off our city's continued appreciation of unique drinks. I'm really excited to do it again and hope the event will be even better this year.
If you have any questions for me -- including why I listen to hip-hop so damn loud while driving around in my Skoda -- just ask below and I'll answer! Thanks for your time!!

2022.12.11 00:06 OkDragonfly5143 2nd to last KPOP Broadway NY performance

*Third to last performance counting matinee
Just wanted to give my great appreciation for the kpop cast on putting on the final shows this weekend. This all is despite the abrupt ending date of tomorrow afternoon. Today I went to the afternoon matinee performance. It was a full house, which I assume many, like me, got tix this week when they heard about the Broadway closing news.
My thoughts are from knowing three of the idols prior, Luna, UKiss Kevin, and Miss A Min. My first impressions were seeing it after that GMA performance. I loved the progression of the setlist as it continued. The show evolved from Broadway show to concert performance.
I think performance/song wise the girls team killed it. All of them could had been in a real five member girls kpop group. Bohyung was a pleasure to see the first time, and now I'll check out Spica more for sure. She was really tall btw, and her red wings outfit on the shoulders just accentuated her stunning aura. She just gave me the idol vibes for sure. I enjoyed her sweet voice.
Min, meanwhile, brought leader energy to the group. Thought it was cute when she was prep-talking the group once their CEO/manager left the stage. Really fun to see her owning the stage. Absolutely adorable when Min and Bohyung made an arm heart together on the left stage side. For non-idol performances, I think Julia also did a great job handling her job. And the girl with the little black pigtails, I was captivated by her dancing and presence.
What can I say, the girls team brought the sass and confidence to the stage. I couldn't wait for their next performance to come out, which even the snooping documentary maker respected not to interrupt. I think it would be epic if the five girls were a permanent girl group, they got the charisma and killer styling to date.
For the boys team, man everyone screamed when they came out in the body strap outfits. Kevin was clear center start to finish, when he showed up in a sparkly suit. His interactions with the audience showed his past kpop experience, like little waves and eye contact. Kevin interacted with the girls on the first row so well, she was smiling, and I kinda wished I paid for the first row instead of the third row, lol
But really, all the boy group performance actors showed off their skills equally in the final song. Brad really sympathized with the audience over his Asian-American experience, where he asked his mom to make him a pbj to fit in with the other kids lunch. There was emphasis on making a song about "being a Korean man." As for relatability, the guys brought it on. One guy said his personality was to avoid conflict, which I agree with.
Another theme was sticking to their greeting gestures from debut date, which Kevin explained "is tradition," despite Harry's insistence to change it up. Overall really happy for the guys when they got rid of Harry, realizing the group chemistry or presence of foreign background/member Brad was not the issue. When the members were chiming in that they were born in Queens, I was dying.
The singers in the group were great too, the guy with light platinum hair was hitting the high notes. During the middle, their martial arts/traditional inspired choreography was amazing. And one of the rappers totally went off, lol.
Finally, what can I say about Luna, our star? Her outfits were immaculate, and her singing full of control and mind-blowing. Her side story with the guitar teacher was unexpected but liberating once she reconciled with her manager / CEO Ruby, calling her eoma. Luna was the last to leave the stage in a silver sequin outfit. Lastly, her trailing dress veil lifted in the wind in an ethereal way.
The final end moment was bittersweet because one of the actors explained he had been working on the musical for eight years. The show was abruptly coming to an end, as "fate" would have it. But he thanked the company for all their hard work.

7 - 9 PM Nathan Fox Tractor Brewing Company, 118 Tulane Dr. SE I've been hooked on music from the day I could reach the keys of my family's heirloom 1910 Bush & Gerts upright piano. I would tinker out the melodies of scores from movies like Star Wars and Top Gun. That lead to tinkering out my own pieces. Between age 5 and 8, I was Elvis Presley for Halloween twice, and sang/lip-synced "Blue Suede Shoes" at my school talent show. When I was 12 I bought my friend's bass and started learning lines from my favorite bands at the time, "Rage Against The Machine" and "The Red Hot Chili Peppers". That is also when I joined the school band where I played bass clarinet. At 14 I started an 8 piece ska/punk/swing band with some friends who were also in the school band. We called it "Who's Your Daddy?". I played bass, my brother played tenobaritone sax, and we also had drums, electric guitar, Trombone, Trumpet, Alto Sax, and a Lead Singer. I love music. I get a kick out of creating music that I enjoy, and I get even more stoked when other people like it too.
