 | Per l'estate mi voglio specializzare nell'arte della gelateria e ho cercato in lungo e in largo le ricette meno sbatti per fare un buon gelato in casa senza dover usare la gelatiera. submitted by shotsandvideos to cucina [link] [comments] Questo al fiordilatte ha richiesto: 120 ml di latte (intero, più è di qualità meglio è) 50g di zucchero 250 ml di panna fresca non zuccherata 1 cucchiaino di estratto di vaniglia un pizzico di sale meno di mezzo bicchierino di grappa (o vodka) Si mette in un pentolino il latte, lo zucchero e si porta a bollore, poi si aggiunge l'estratto di vaniglia e il sale. Quando si è ben addensato si spegne e lo si mette da parte in frigorifero. Con uno sbattitore monto la panna, al quale aggiungerò poi il latte addensato freddo (attenzione se è ancora caldo rischiate di smontare la panna) e il goccino di grappa (serve ad evitare che cristallizzi troppo e non sia cremoso). Mescolate dal basso verso l'alto finché non è ben omogeneo. Poi mettete tutto in congelatore per 7/8 ore e godetevelo. |

Mi siedo alla macchina da scrivere come Alan Wake nel reame della Presenza Oscura, che nel contesto della metafora eldritch dovrebbe rappresentare forse l’alcolismo nel mio caso, o forse il disturbo depressivo, e nel caso di Alan Wake penso sia solo il fatto che sia scandinavo.
Questa storia comincia a Malta, terra ben lontana dalla Scandinavia, ma non per questo meno stramaledetta. Passeggio per le strade strette e incanalate (verso dove poi?), con l’architettura oppressiva di un quartieraccio di Kabul, come in quei film americani ambientati nel Medio Oriente dove ogni edificio è ingolfato da chili di sabbia e da uno strato di lerciume che puoi solo immaginare provenire dagli abitanti stessi. Malta ha 365 chiese, una per ogni giorno dell’anno, proprio come Yharnam, dove camminano bestie moribonde e dementi, con fattezze incestuose e parossismi esclamatori che si possono restringere a quelle tre frasi ricorrenti che si suppone abbiano imparato in un tempo lontano, prima di tramutarsi in creature dimenticate da Dio. Anche a Yharnam penso sia così.
Sbuco ai giardini pensili di Valletta, chiamati così per via delle numerose vecchie dai seni sgonfi, e mi incammino verso il palazzo ministeriale e poi giù per la Hauptstraße dove mi indigno per gli uomini abbronzati a dicembre e le donne che acquisiscono quattro strati di grasso sotto i fianchi una volta compiuti i 14 anni (grazie genetica di madre Angleterra). Probabilmente era solo perché la capigliatura gli si era organicamente tramutata nella tonsura di San Francesco, e perché si era rotto i coglioni di Ryanair e preferiva una divisa che arieggiasse naturalmente lo scroto.
Scivolo tra i gradini di una perpendicolare, che a Malta non capisci mai se vada in alto o in basso, e percorro le vecchie vie mercantili che lustri orsono traboccavano di commerci e grida dei vari spacci, prevalentemente costituiti da molteplici banchi del pesce. Ora gli scambi e i mercati sono svaniti, e permaneva fastidiosamente solo l’odore del pescato. Arrivato alla punta di Valletta, volta ad Oriente verso un sole spietato, scorgo fra’ Lollo che bisticcia accanitamente con un maltese ingobbito e tarchiato, che poi sono tutti così ed è sorprendente come la genetica possa fottere in culo non solo a te, ma pure ai tuoi figli e nipoti e pronipoti finché ti evolvi all’indietro e ti ritrovi di nuovo analfabeta e incapace di parlare lingua umana. Sulla destra, fra’ Lorenzo, difensore dello spirito, ha raggiunto vette inimmaginabili per il cerebello maltese. Mentre il maltese tenta di esprimere concetti in una lingua cacofonica e semitica, Lollo, che di suo non sa e non gli interessa conoscere l’arabo siculo-ebraico, ribatte con fermezza parlando solo ed esclusivamente per metafore da panettiere. Lollo stava difatti lavorando su una versione degli Eroici Furori di Giordano Bruno in cui il mito di Atteone è un esperimento mentale per cui Atteone voleva mettere il cazzo nel forno. E comunque nel loro battibecco Lollo era abbastanza schietto nelle sue metafore, dividendo e immedesimando gli uomini secondo le varie tipologie di pagnotte, sfilatine, panini, filoni e chi più ne ha più ne metta (il cazzo nel forno), e il maltese era un Fastenwähe, quel pretzel immangiabile degli svizzeri, che sono i tedeschi delle paludi, che di loro volta sono gli scandinavi delle steppe, che di loro volta sono chiusi nel reame della Presenza Oscura a scrivere sta cacata.
Vabbè fatto sta che il maltese mi vede arrivare mentre ho i vestiti impregnati di morte e di fumo di sigarette stracariche di nicotina e 17 additivi, che servono solo a fare la speedrun del cancro così puoi proprio essere come Walter White, nel senso che tua moglie viene scopata da un evasore fiscale. Sto andando a trovare Lollo, che si è fatto monaco dell’ordine francescano quattro mesi fa, penso perché gli fosse piaciuto quando lo chiamai fra’ Lawrence di Bristovia, e un po’ spronato da un’epifania religiosa sulle origini dell’uomo che giurava fosse sopraggiunta durante una sessione di infarinatura del pane. Probabilmente era solo perché la capigliatura gli si era organicamente tramutata nella tonsura di San Francesco, e perché si era rotto i coglioni di Ryanair e preferiva una divisa che arieggiasse naturalmente lo scroto.
Scivolo tra i gradini di una perpendicolare, che a Malta non capisci mai se vada in alto o in basso, e percorro le vecchie vie mercantili che lustri orsono traboccavano di commerci e grida dei vari spacci, prevalentemente costituiti da molteplici banchi del pesce. Ora gli scambi e i mercati sono svaniti, e permaneva fastidiosamente solo l’odore del pescato. Arrivato alla punta di Valletta, volta ad Oriente verso un sole spietato, scorgo fra’ Lollo che bisticcia accanitamente con un maltese ingobbito e tarchiato, che poi sono tutti così ed è sorprendente come la genetica possa fottere in culo non solo a te, ma pure ai tuoi figli e nipoti e pronipoti finché ti evolvi all’indietro e ti ritrovi di nuovo analfabeta e incapace di parlare lingua umana. Avevo davanti a me due esponenti agli antipodi del Weltgeist, alla mia sinistra un maltese che poteva per forza di cose avere uno tra forse quattro cognomi, ignobile e presupponente, che non si capisce che cosa presupponga perché non è neuronalmente abilitato al pensiero, eppure Dio gli ha ugualmente donato parola, e per cosa non si sa. Mentre il maltese tenta di esprimere concetti in una lingua cacofonica e semitica, Lollo, che di suo non sa e non gli interessa conoscere l’arabo siculo-ebraico, ribatte con fermezza parlando solo ed esclusivamente per metafore da panettiere. Lollo stava difatti lavorando su una versione degli Eroici Furori di Giordano Bruno in cui il mito di Atteone è un esperimento mentale per cui Atteone voleva mettere il cazzo nel forno. E comunque nel loro battibecco Lollo era abbastanza schietto nelle sue metafore, dividendo e immedesimando gli uomini secondo le varie tipologie di pagnotte, sfilatine, panini, filoni e chi più ne ha più ne metta (il cazzo nel forno), e il maltese era un Fastenwähe, quel pretzel immangiabile degli svizzeri, che sono i tedeschi delle paludi, che di loro volta sono gli scandinavi delle steppe, che di loro volta sono chiusi nel reame della Presenza Oscura a scrivere sta cacata.

Probably lots of similar post, but Im a new whoop user and it's baffling how much I'm learning about my habits and how it affects my sleep.
I don't usually drink. On one photo I had maybe 3 glasses of wine socially 7 hours before bedtime. I usually drink way more if O do (6-9 servings). The other picture nothing notable happened, I just had a good sleep. I felt genuinely happy when I woke up.
Interesting to see that even though I both had 5 REM cycles throughout the night, the duration were significantly shorter (Almost half). Not many other variables changed other than that. I felt like shit during the day.
What other habits have you noticed increased the quality of your REM sleep?

Son 8.5 M, 45 lbs has abdominal pain since February. He doesn't go to school and stays in bed most of the time. It happened before but not as severe and went away after a month or so. We realize we need to wait longer for Amitripltyne to work but we are concened that he has rear good days (hours) and in bed most of the time. Normally he is a bright, fun and social boy and now doesn't leave his bed. Could this be something not tested for?
Current Outpatient Medications
famotidine 40 MG/5ML Recon susp - Take 2 mL (16 mg) by mouth at bedtime
gabapentin (Neurontin) 250 MG/5ML Solution Take 3 mL (150 mg) by mouth twice a day
8.5 years old has been constipating for many years. He has been diagnosed with encopresis in 2021. Ever since he was diagnosed with encopresis He was on MiraLAX .5 to .75 cup twice a day. This helped him to control his constipation. During all this time except for approximately a few weeks he was soiling his pants almost daily. He was also frequently complaining about abdominal pain. Per doctor’s recommendation we were reminding him to sit on the toilet after each meal. Feeding him with homemade meals and we try to limit processed food. We did physical therapy and psychologist therapy. He has a toilet foot stool and seat.
About 1 year ago (January 2023), a bowel cleanup was performed per Max’s pediatrician recommendations. One cupful of MiraLAX was given every 3 hours. (No fasting or clear food diet was recommended)
During that time evacuated lots of poops with diarrhea content. We did not achieve the yellow fluid and stopped after a couple of days. Since this cleanup Max experienced severe abdominal pain for about a month.
Per GI doctor recommendation, we were no longer doing cleanup to avoid severe abdominal pain. Instead, Max was back on his MiraLAX dose .75 cup twice a day with fiber gummies 4mg a day.
He has good apetite most of the time, except after a dose of Exlax. His stool was always help soft over these years.
Notes from GI visit April 22nd - Today he has more guarding, mild distension and tenderness. I can't tell if he has a surgical abdomen (ie volvulus, appendicitis) but it is not associated with vomiting or eating. His most likely diagnosis is abdominal migraines (abdominal pain and headaches) and anxiety at this point, but the pattern has been consistent without as much good days. Activity makes him worse, and we have considered ACNES as well. He has had multiple cleanouts, and the periodic soiling could be from inattentiveness. Perhaps this is from constipation, but should rule out surgical abdomen at this time. We had a long conversation today about abdominal migraines, but upon repeat exam, it is still quite guarded. Pain is daily / off and on. Has had 2 good days in last 3 weeks Appetite is good except when pain is high. No vomiting. Stooling daily with miralax. Sleeping well.
UPPER Endoscopy Diagnosis
A. Duodenum, mucosal biopsy:- Duodenal mucosa with no pathologic change. B. Duodenum, bulb, mucosal biopsy:- Duodenal mucosa with a small lamina propria lymphoid aggregate. C. Stomach, antrum/body, mucosal biopsy: - Antral-and oxyntic-type gastric mucosa with focal features of mild reactive (chemical) gastropathy. D. Esophagus, distal, mucosal biopsy: - Squamous epithelium with rare intraepithelial eosinophils (up to 2 per high-power field). E. Esophagus, proximal, mucosal biopsy:- Squamous epithelium with rare intraepithelial eosinophils (up to 1 per high-power field).
The overall findings are nonspecific. The esophageal findings do not meet threshold numerical criteria for a diagnosis of eosinophilic esophagitis. Reflux related changes are favored. Clinical correlation is recommended.

Only a little over a month old I think. I got some, what I believe to be Thorea algae from an aquarium store, which I was quite happy about! The problem is that my algae seems very brownish pale..? And it isn't really growing a lot. It was bright red and growing wild in the aquariums at the store. I'm not very educated on macroalgae care sadly... So I was hoping someone here had experience and could help me ses what the issue is? I don't want to have to make an unexperiences guess, since I really don't want them to die. I will give some info that might be relevant. I have my first red plants in the tank (image 3), and have set my FluvalSmart light on full blast, 10 hours a day, since they were losing colour, and I heard they need lots of light, which seems to work good for them. All my other plants, including Marimo, seem to be doing good(? I think ?), although I am having issues with brown algae overtaking, as seen on image 4. I included an image of the parameters, too. (I can't read them well. Not sure if it's slight colour blindness or stupidity, but maybe that's part why I can't seem to get healthy plants/algaes. 😅) Y'all got any tips for red macroalgae, even though it's freshwater? I'd love to have it grow healthy and "out-of-control", like it was at the store I got them from. Do I give more/less light? Do I give fertilizers besides just the animal poop? (Shrimps, loaches, snails) What's the trick? I'd really love to become a good caretaker for both plants AND algaes. Thanks a bunch for reading, and a bunch more if you have any tips. 💚 |
